Retiring from Miraculous

Hello everyone, so if you all saw my recent post or if you saw my post on my main blog, I announced that I will be officially retiring from the Miraculous fandom as well as the show for good.

I'm really sorry to those who followed me and only liked me for Miraculous content, but after hearing about how the recent episodes of Miraculous have been (*coughDerisioncough*), I don't see the show improving or getting better anytime soon nor do I see myself enjoying it the more it continues. Especially with how the recent season has been nothing but: Multiple retcons, terrible character development, scenes cut from the final version for the most stupidest reasons ever and to make the show have bigger plot holes than ever, inconsistent writing, and lackluster plots, I really don't see myself following through with it anymore.

However,

I won't be officially retiring at the moment!

Yep, even though I do plan on retiring from Miraculous, I won't do it for a long time for these 5 reasons:

I wanna rewatch the entire series until I start on S5 since I'm waiting for the whole season to drop at once. I mainly wanna see what still holds up and what doesn't after these 8 and a half years the show has run for. (And I think we can all agree which ones didn't age the best)

I mainly wanna watch S5 to see if I can use it as a rewrite for some of my AUs; mainly The Lost Miraculous. I know this one might be tricky to do since from what I heard, S5 did retcon a lot of characters and plots, so I'm not entirely sure if I can rewrite the whole season, but I do plan to add a few new elements to my rewrite if I ever do.

Speaking of AUs, that's another reason why I won't retire immediately from the show: I'm still hoping to use it as a source of inspiration for my AUs as I still wish to write them. Mainly The Queen Bee and the Vesperia, The Lost Miraculous, The Undercover Tales of Rena Furtive and Invisible Hornet, The Bee Sisters Duo!, Bug and Wasp Game, A Fox and Her Club, and more!

I'm incredibly excited for the Awakening movie coming out this July, and I do hope that it will at least be one last hope for the show to get better. If not, then I guess we can call that one the real canon while ignoring the show itself, LOL.

I still wanna post some of my views on Chloe and Zoe themselves.

All in all, while I won't necessarily retire from the show permanently (as of now), I will be saying goodbye to it as time goes by because it's about time I move on and start looking through other shows that have similar Magical Girl themes.

Speaking of which, I made a poll on my main blog asking people what should be the next Magical Girl show I should try while I wait to end my time with Miraculous, and when I cut ties with it. If you wish to vote, please click right here.

Queen Bee runs into my Rena Rouge problem in that I don’t dislike the canon suit? lol I tried to create a look that is still ambiguous as to whether or not she’s good or evil. As for the power...well, “Venom” is just a downgraded version of Queen Wasp’s Venom ability, so why not give her a downgraded version of Miracle Queen’s ability? Though maybe “Drone” would’ve been a better title since it only works on one person at a time. It was fun to bring back some old concepts for canon Queen Bee though!

As for Vesperia, I leaned into Kitty Noire’s design by having *GASP!* exposed skin! And also leaned into her name being a play on a flower by giving her maximum flower power! I wanted to make sure THESE power ups, unlike Bee Balm with Marigold, stayed under the “Subjugation” umbrella. The upside to “Pollination” is a wide range, but it is a fixed one, and unlike Venom, the victim is still in control of themselves within the vines and are theoretically capable of escape.

I suddenly had the image of both Queen Bee and Vesperia showing up to a fight, and Ladybug is SUPER confused, because they can’t BOTH be using Pollen. When she asks, Zoe helpfully points out that she's a WASP not a BEE. LB: "Wait, there's a Wasp Miraculous? You HAVE a Wasp Miraculous!? Where did you find-!" / "Sorry*krrsh*we're losing*krrsh*" / "We're talking in person- STOP RUNNING AWAY!! GIVE ME YOUR MIRACULOUS!!" / (same tone as ok boomer) "Okay, Hawk Moth."

Preview for The Queen Bee and the Vesperia-Chapter 2:

Hey ya'll @muggle-born-princess here about to post the preview to my Chloé and Zoé semi AU Fanfic: The Queen Bee and the Vesperia.

For those who don't know, this is one of my fanfics that I plan to post on my @pro-bee-sisters blog as well on my AO3 and DeviantART both. To summarize the plot: It’s basically inspired by the Mark Twain classic "The Prince and the Pauper" as well as the Barbie adaptation: "The Princess and the Pauper."

I did make Chapter 1 almost a year ago, where you can find on my AO3 and DeviantART both. (Click the links on the names)

But for now, here is the sneak preview to the next chapter; where compared to the last chapter, where we knew what Chloé is like or will be like in the story, this time we will focus more on Zoé and how her role will play it in the story.

Chapter 2: Chloe the Queen Bee and Zoe the Vesperia

Down in the basement of Audrey’s fashion house, there lived and slept a young girl that looked almost about Audrey’s own daughter, Chloe’s age and even appearance. She had a similar body type, light blonde hair, and both also shared the same colored-blue eyes as the young girl woke up to the sound of the basement’s air conditioner awakening her; though this didn’t bother her at all due to the room’s hot and stuffy environment. The young girl yawned and stretched herself at of the rusty bed she slept in and looked down as she saw her one and only companion she had: A stuffed honeybee that she called Mr. Buzzy.

“Time to start another day in Hell, Mr. Buzzy.” The young girl let out a sigh.

“VESPERIA!” A similar voice shouted, which made the young girl gulp. The door to the basement then slammed open hard and the reveal of Audrey Bourgeois came out.

“You’re still in bed?! Lazy as ever!” The fashion designer screamed, and all the poor girl could do was take it.

“Well, come on!” Audrey ordered. “You got a job to do. You need to get the thread I’d ordered, restock the fabric, polish the mannequins, and I need you to go into town to mail off a new dress line by two o'clock!” Audrey completed her orders. “You understand me, Wasp?” Zoe glared at her with despair in her face.

“My name is not Wasp, or Vespa, or even Vesperia. It’s Zoe!” The young blonde fought back, but her “employer” didn’t seem to care about the correction at all.

“Just get it done.” Audrey growled through her teeth as she walked out of Zoe’s “room.” The young blonde glared at her “foster mother” and then took a deep breath while she held her dearest bee plushie to her chest. She then began to talk to it as if it were real.

“Don’t worry Mr. Buzzy, we’ll get out of here and reunite with daddy again.” The young girl flashed a smile now and finally decided to get ready for her day.

Making her way up to the Haunt Coutre fashion house upstairs in her day clothes and all cleaned up now, Zoe began to start on her duties for the fashion designer, and those that worked for her.

“Good morning, Anasis.” Zoe sweetly told one of Audrey’s employees.

“Hmph, about time you’re here, Wasp” The Anasis woman snapped with venom. “Didn’t you hear your mother, you have supplies to get for us!”

“She’s not my mother,” Zoe argued back. “She’s only here so I can help pay back my father!” Another snobby woman joined the conversation.

“Oh, you mean the actor from New York?” She teased critically as she pinned on a sash to a dress she was currently working on. Anasis laughed viciously. “Oh yeah, how poor is he again?” Both women laughed with malicious intention, that all Zoe could do was angrily glare at the two rude women.

“Vesperia, come now!” Audrey shouted from across the room. Zoe sighed and walked up towards the horrible baroness who was at the front door, aggressively glaring at her.

“Honestly, you are just as worthless as my own family!” The blonde girl walked out the door as the older woman handed her a list of tasks as well as a golden tote bag to help the girl carry whatever she needed to get for her boss.

“And don’t be late!” The bossy woman demanded as she closed her door. After that was finished, Zoe once again let out a sigh of sadness before heading off until town to start her orders.

Meanwhile, at a school called College Francoise Dupont, a bespectacled girl with red hair wearing a purple sweater vest and teal-blue skirt was waiting anxiously outside the school, holding two cups of coffee.

“Oh, I hope she’s not running late!” The girl started to panic, to the point where she almost dropped the coffees. Meanwhile, two other girls, a girl with blue-black pigtails and another redhead with glasses, were viewing the anxious girl from a distance. The redhead shook her head and smirked.

Can we talk about Zoe’s design for a sec?

I love Chloe’s civilian form. She’s both cute and cool. I love the details of her outfit! Her hat, her leather jacket and her shoes are great! I really like that her color palet is composed of the primary color, it’s very pleasant to look at. She’s just adorable.

I prefer Vesperia’s design over Queen bee’s. Both are good, but I think Vesperia’s design has something more. It’s cooler, more dynamic, and maybe even a little agressive. I like it a lot! I think it was a great idea to give Zoe the vibe of a wasp (or hornet) rather than the vibe of a bee, v-shaped stripes suits her better than rounder stripes would. The bicolor hair is great too, it’s very pretty.

Also, I know that a lot of people hate Kitty Noire’s design, but I absolutely love it. Maybe I just have bad tastes, but I love the green/purple palette. I love the fact that Kitty Noire’s outfit looks less like a complete suit and more like a sport outfit, with a bit of skin showing on her harms and her ankles. I love the gloves too! I admit that the lipstick is a bit weird though… Personally I got used to it, and I even like it now.

My Vesperia redesign and a bit rewrite of a queen banana:

I want to thank everyone that participated in the poll for this and the upcoming Kitty Noire redesign post I’ll be doing next. Just wanted to say this post is for pure fun and not for malicious intent just like my sole crusher redesign and sorry that wasn’t clear enough. Anyway on to this post.

My opinion about her original design:

Honestly, I like Vesperia’s design, it looks pretty great. And look, I know it has its drawbacks and may not be the best design but it is far from the worst design in the whole show. That goes to Aspik, Snake Noir, and Hawkmoth/Shadow moth/Monarch, huh like father like son. Okay back to the discussion beforehand, yeah Vesperia looks more like a wasp than a bee but I don’t find any issues with it since some of the heroes also don’t like their respective animals as well and some people weren’t complaining about them, to be honest. Also if I did have a problem with it then this post probably wouldn’t exist. Honestly, the things I don’t like about her design are her camouflage mode design, her hair, and the slider (what the wiki calls it) on her chest. Her camo mode hair comb is just a bee design but with her usual colors for her clothes, which doesn’t look that pleasing to me. Her braid isn’t just working for me and I’m kinda confused about how it looks when it is unbraid compared to Queen Bee's hair where that hairstyle makes sense. And why the slider on her chest, it feels very out of place, to be honest, and it doesn’t need to be there at all. So yeah this design is pretty solid in my book. I like the design even though there are problems with it that people have that are genuine criticisms of it.

So let's redesign Vesperia and see if the design could work for her as much as her original design.

Her Redesign:

Okay, so I ended up changing the design a lot more than expected so here we go. The things I’m keeping are her boots, her mask, her stripes, and her antennas since I like them and would fit here. First I would give her a short half-down and half-up hairstyle so the hair comb with the antennas can stay in place while her bangs and bottom layer are black hair color and then her mask being the same as before. Then I would give her a sleeveless swan-necked black shirt with warm yellow stripes and the collar is warm yellow as well. She has black fingerless biker gloves with spikes on them and warm yellow shorts with suspenders hanging down and chains belts which is where the spinning top is. She has bee wings as well because it would work for her. Lastly, having black ripped tights and boots from her original design. And as for the disguise mode for the miraculous, I would have two pink bougainvillea flowers one on the right and one on the left and they each have a skull head in the middle while having gold leaves and thorns as well for the rest of the hair comb. And yes, I know she isn’t a ginger but that stops me from pushing my Ginger Zoé agenda!!

Some notes and quotes:

Okay I know this is the part where I do a personality rewrite but honestly, it is the same as her canon self so let’s move on.

Before I do the quotes, here are some things that I would like to mention:

She can be very snarky whenever Chloé gets akumatized.

She is very close friends with Rooster Bold and Purple Tigress. And may or not ask them for love advice sometimes.

I think during Queen Banana, Zoé had a bag of honey chocolate chip cookies and gave Pollen to recharge, and ever since Pollen loved them.

She may not know Pollen that long but she and Pollen have a nice bond where Zoé was mostly scared of her at first but ends up thinking Pollen is one of the sweetest things in the world. While Pollen would help Zoé with her self-confidence and always be happy to see her (and lowkey shipping her with her crush).

And her antennas can emote as some anime ahoges can even without her noticing it.

Now here are some quotes for you guys to enjoy (and sorry these are a bit weaker than usual) also I'm did use @artzychic27 ocs in this I’m tagging them for that reason:

Reshma when Queen Banana appears: … I swear to god, the more she gets akumatized the more she looks tacky in each one.

Jean: Yep and the fact she got a gaudy car and gorilla as well is stupid.

Ismael: I’m starting to think ShadowMoth is getting worse in Akuma design as we speak that is even low for him since some of the early Akuma designs weren’t even that good.

Reshma: Yep, he is even worse than Gabriel fucking Agreste is.

Meanwhile

ShadowMoth: *crying* I’m not a bad designer.

Cosette: Okay, I think we’re safe here from that loony banana for now. *turn to face Zoé* Right now, we need to *sees that she upsets* Zoé?… What's wrong?

Zoé hugging her knees: …

Cosette: *sits next to her* You can tell me if you want, I just want to know if you’re okay.

Zoé: … It's my fault.

Cosette: Huh?

Zoé: It's my fault that she’s acting like this and terrorizing everyone! If I wasn’t in the movie, she wouldn’t be ruining it and got akumatized. She was probably right to want to send me back to New York. *starts tearing up* I’ll just keep messing up things for everyone else just like I did back in New York.

Cosette: Zoé, none of this is your fault.

Zoé: What?

Cosette: *gently holds her hand while blushing* You didn’t do anything wrong in this situation and Chloé is just trying to pin blame on someone else so she wouldn’t have to admit that it was her fault in the first place. There were many times when she got akumatized because she didn’t get what she wanted those were way before you came here. Even if you mess up, like I said, I and many others are going to be here to help you, no matter what. Overall, you did nothing wrong in this situation and I’m going to keep telling you that until you believe it, okay?

Zoé: *blushing* … Okay, I believe you.

Cosette: *hugs her* Good.

Zoé: *hugs them back and then let's go when she hears chaos coming from outside* But, I need to face her alone. She’s my sister and I can’t sit by and let her hurt others because of me. So I want you to stay here so you can be safe because knowing that you aren’t hurt, makes me happy, Cosette.

Cosette: Okay, just be safe out there.

Zoé: I will. *hugs it real tight before leaving* I’ll be back!

Cosette: *blushes while smiling* Okay! ‘That’s my girl.’

Ladybug summons a motorcycle: … What the?!

Zoé: Hmm, if you don’t mind can I drive it?

Ladybug: Oh…Okay?

Zoé: Great! *puts on her helmet and gets on it* Hang on!

Ladybug: *holds on to her* Wha- *gets freaked by the fast driving* AHHHHHHH!

An alternative way to defeat Queen Banana (sorry this is too corny for you):

Queen Banana holding Ladybug while her banana gun is against her head: Give me your miraculous, or else I’ll turn her int- *gets pulled into the ground by a yellow string and drops her banana gun* What the?! Who dares to stop me?!?

Vesperia: I did, banana brain.

Queen Banana: Who are you supposed to be, my pathetic clone?! Because there is only one Queen Bee and that is me!!!

Vesperia: .. You're right, you are the only queen bee around here. You know the one who almost caused a train to crash for her selfish reasons, the one who decided to work with Shadowmoth because she didn’t get what she wanted, and put every other hero in danger by revealing their secret identity to him not realizing the consequences of what will happen next. No one wants to be Queen Bee because she is nothing but a pathetic person that expects things to go her way all the damn time. You are queen bee since no one wants to be anything like you, especially me. *grins a sly smile* I’m Vesperia by the way! *wields her spinning top back into her hand* VENOM! *stings Queen Banana and takes her hair clip* Here you go! *throws it to ladybug, who catches it*

Ladybug/Chat Noir: 😧

Chat Noir: … That was unexpected.

Vesperia while princess carrying Cosette: Are you okay, Co- I mean civilian?

Cosette: *blushing like crazy* Um-uh..um YEAH! Thank you for saving me!!

Vesperia: *also blushing while her antennas emote a heart shape* You're welcome! Let’s get you to safety, don’t want someone as cute as you to get hurt. *starts to fly up to the skies*

Cosette: ….*makes confused bisexual noises*

After a few minutes of searching for a safe place

Cosette: *blushing* Thank you for saving me Vesperia, you’re a very pretty- I mean pretty cool hero!

Vesperia: *blushing* Of course! I’m always here if you ever need saving umm…

Cosette: Cosette.

Vesperia: Right! You have such a lovely name.

Cosette: Thanks. *smiles softly and awkwardly*

Zoé: Oh, those are my friends. We took that photo a couple days after I first got here.

Pollen: Oh so they’re like your court?

Zoé: Well I’m not sure if that's the right way to use it like that.

Pollen: … *points to Cosette* So would that mean this girl you were talking to isn’t queen by your side then.

Zoé: … *blushes like a ripped tomato* NO! Not like that!! I mean I do appreciate Cosette as a friend of mine!!! It’s not that I have a crush on it exactly!!

Pollen who saw the whole conversation when she saved them: Uhhh right, my queen. ‘It seems like my queen may be having trouble expressing her emotions… a lot.’

Marc: Oh hey Zoé!

Zoé: Hey Marc, hey Nathaniel! What are you guys doing?

Marc: We’re heading to movies and the fact I finally got him to take a break from drawing all that adrienette cringe.

Nathaniel: I still think we could have stayed at home to watch some movies.

Marc: But it's lovely out here, especially the weather! Anyway, what are you doing?

Zoé: Oh I was just smelling some flowers, no biggie!

Nathaniel: Really, your cover in flowers and pollen.

Zoé: I was checking if flowers were okay and might I say, they are looking and smell lovely.

Marc: Oh okay. Well you want to come with us to the movies?

Zoé: Oh no thanks, I don’t be the third wheel on your date and don’t want to make things awkward when you two decide to make out in the movie theater. *she’s wink while MarcNath blushes*

Nathaniel: We better get going, bye Zoé.

Marc: See you at school, Zoé!

Zoé: See ya! *waves MarcNath goodbye as they walking* Well, time to go back to smell these lovely flowers!

I really wish Chloe hadn’t gotten the bee. Yeah, it would’ve been nice to finally bond with someone (Pollen) in the midst of her realising that everyone thinks she’s The Worst, but it’s not like she had the miraculous long enough for that to happen.

I gave up on the whole Queen Bee thing when Ladybug gave her back the miraculous during Queen Wasp. It felt like a pity move, like “man that sucks that ur mother made fun of u on national television.… if i give u the miraculous back, will u feel better?”

The entire thing just felt really… unearned. She was getting there in changing her views and realising she was wrong, but the QB kinda pushed that back. Or, more like fast tracked it to the point we completely skipped over the “i want to make amends and be a better person” and teleported right into “i’m a hero now!!”

I would’ve been much more interested if she didn’t reveal her identity and became an anti-hero of sorts. Like there are shenanigans where she butts heads with the hero team cause they realise she isn’t doing all this to actually help people, no, she’s trying to prove a point and gain recognition. She’s actively getting in their way and making saving the day more tedious. She sucks as a hero and it’s obvious to literally everyone. It may inspire some growth, it may not, but it’s better than having all the heroes be a monolith of good who exist to assist Ladybug.

Of course, with the writers also realising that it just wasn’t Worth It, they scrambled for a replacement and we got Zoe, the character embodiment of a wet noodle. If the QB arc hadn’t been there at all, or had been used for Chloe’s growth as a stand alone “hero”, Vesperia would either not be so dull or not have to have been introduced.

I introduce you Lycène Bleue the Butterfly Miraculous holder from the Opposite Universe and the planified major antagonist for the Inversed Personas concept.

-Presentation:

Lycène Bleue "came" to Paris for one goal: Steal the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses for gaining the Absolute Power that would help her to grant her precious wish.

-Superpowers and abilities:

With the power of Transmission (related to the Butterfly Miraculous), she transforms people she targeted into her "champions". She had fighting skills in martial arts (like the Kung-fu by training with Fei Wu and some part of Mira-Kung-fu) and sword mastering (fencing). She is a tactician and a master orator too.

-Personality:

In her Lycène Bleue form, she is similar to Gabriel Agreste a.k.a. Hawkmoth: She's charismatic, master orator, manipulator, sophisticated, strategist and greedy (about miraculouses). She's an intimidating person when she introduces herself.

She acts like Canon Lila Rossi too: She's seductive, sneaky (useful for her to easily akumatize her victims), sadist and she threats, blackmails people who try to find out her real identity.

Meanwhile she can sometimes be compassionate for some people she meets on her run and for people she worries for (like Adrien and Fei). She's tragic and melancolic. She's become her own Villain character in reason of a dramatic event from the past that let her depressed until she's owning the Butterfly miraculous, faithless and emotionless.

Spoiler: In her civilian form, She has the same persona and same look as (Opposite)Marinette.

-Likes: -CLASSIFIED-*

-Dislikes/Hates: capricious people, lies (especially lies about herself), uncontrollable akumatized victims, superheroes (she hates Alley Cat more than anything), to be defeated by Rouge Chance and Alley Cat

Love interest: Same crushes as Marinette Dup... -CLASSIFIED-*

*Top secret: It's classified ! Access denied !

I’M BACK EVERYONE!

Hello everyone! It’s me, Muggle-Born-Princess and I just wanna say that I’m officially back from my 1 month hiatus!

It honestly feels really great to be back on here. I know I have a lot to take care from answering questions in my inbox to writing my Chloe and Zoe AUs on @pro-bee-sisters to posting more content on my art and writing blog.

Speaking of content, I do wanna point something out: I’m really sorry to say this, but after Season 5 of Miraculous and the Awakening movie, I am officially gonna be done with the show for good. I’m really sorry to those who only followed me for Miraculous content only, but it’s the truth. After hearing about how the season has been so far with multiple retcons, terrible writing choices, and character flanderization 24/7, I think it’s about time I say goodbye to the show.

But,

That’s not gonna happen anytime soon! 😊

Yep, even though I will be closing the book on Miraculous, I won’t do it immediately for the following reasons:

1. I will be rewatching the whole series before I start S5 as a whole just to see what aged poorly or what still holds up. (I think we all know the answers to those both. 🙄)

2. Once I start Season 5, I plan to do some multiple rewrites and AUs for it. Mainly for my second arc for The Lost Miraculous, despite that being in progress still.

3. Speaking of rewrites and AUs, that’s the other thing I wanna do before I leave the show for good. I especially wanna do my AUs involving Chloe and Zoe (i.e. The Queen Bee and the Vesperia & The Bee Sisters Duo!); some Chlonette in there because they’re my now my OTP (i.e. Bug & Wasp Game); and some other characters that deserve focus and potential too (i.e. A Fox and Her Club which features Lila and Sabrina as a duo; Pink and Purple Love Square which involves a Love Square between Rose/Pigella and Juleka/Purple Tigress)

4. I am super excited for the Awakening movie! The trailer and animation look so promising and since Astruc himself will not be apart of it whatsoever, it gives me hope that maybe the show will get back on its feet and if not, then we can officially call the movie the new canon if it’s any good!

I also do wanna point out that I also wanna focus on other fandoms I’m a part of and do more work for them. (i.e. Super Mario, Total Drama, Monster High, etc...) That’s why I also have my art and writing blogs, so I can focus more on those than Miraculous. Don’t get me wrong, I will still do fanwork for Miraculous, but I also wanna expand myself to other interests just to see if anyone else is interested.

Now that brings me up to this:

Will I stop following MLB-related blogs?

Well, that depends. I do have a lot of Miraculous-related blogs I adore (@immaturityofthomasastruc; @miraculousbeezcentral; @emdoddles; and @a-chlolix-blog being my Top 4), but here’s the deal: If they’re still active, then I will still follow them just for their content. However, if they end up retiring from the show just like me, then I don’t see the point of still following them.

It’s been a really long run being a part of the Miraculous fandom, but I think it’s about time I say goodbye to it. It had a very long run for about 8 and a half years with 5 seasons, 124 episodes, 2 specials, an upcoming movie, and more to come. I say it did good for what it became.

Which leads me to my final question:

What’s gonna happen to me now that I will be done with Miraculous?

Well obviously, I still will make fan content for it and sometimes, you will see me with a Miraculous avatar on here to dA to AO3. But, as I said, I will not only focus on other fandoms and expand them even more with their own fan content, but I will also be making a poll asking my followers what’s the next magical girl series I should explore next.

As much as I had my problems with Miraculous itself, I will admit that it did give me a new outlook on the magical girl genre in general, and it made me really happy to see that I can learn to understand what the genre is all about, and what made it so popular to begin with.

All in all, while I will miss those who I befriended in this fandom, I need to move on and find out what other new things that are out there that I will like~

(Btw even though I know not all in the fandom like Zoe (seeing her as just a replacement for Chloe) I actually don’t mind having her around

I even retooled them in an AU I made where there twins (no half siblings stuff) and that there’s also a wasp miraculous that’s given to Zoe instead of the Bee (meaning Chloe still gets Pollen and is still Queen Bee) and has the power of Action as opposed to Subjection (that lets Zoe become Vesperia)

Thought that might be an idea you want to use if you’re still keeping Zoe in your AU I mean

I'm glad It worked out and honestly I really dig the idea of twins having wasp and bee powers respectively.

Still hate Zoe though

Because I hate this show’s lackluster season finale and because I hate Zoe, I’m going to complain about her outfit. Now I might be a bit biased towards this outfit considering that I recently reviewed the crime that is Kitty noir. In comparison Vesperia, stupid as she is looks decent.

Might as well start of with the positives, don’t worry this list isn’t to long,

This does hide her identity rather well, a hair style change goes a long way.

Her shoes stand out from the others in an interesting way.

Those who made this stupid outfit had way better ideas concerning colors then Kittys designers did. There are just two main colors do match the colors of a yellow jacket, (the species that she was most likely based on)

Hair antennae are an interesting choice, doesn’t work however as she now hat four antennae.

Notice how short that list is, and two of those are just an interesting and unique choice. Considering that this is the replacement to queen bee, a really well thought out outfit and one of the best in my opinion. I will get more into Chloe later but for now this is the list of stupid things in this outfit, I will rank them from least annoying to worst thing in this show.

The mask looks stupid, they tried to use the top of the mask as a way to show emotions like how we use eyebrows in animation. But it looks stupid, the mask bends down to, I assume look like a V, but just no it looks dumb, her outfit already has enough V’s on it you don’t need more in dumb places.

What is up with her bangs, I get that they’re supposed to look like antennae but they just look like they came straight out of an anime and it clashes with the rest of her outfit as it has more of a motor head aesthetic, also the miraculous already has two antennae sticking out of it, you don’t need more.

The clear favoritism in her transformation secureness, compare her to Mylene who literally stands still for half of her transformation, I have seen fan animations who have more movement in their transformation

Compare this to vesperia

The entire sequences has this amount of detail and movement, it’s clear favoritism towards their “best bee ever”. Her transformation also shows a lot more creativity then any other hero or villain, more then the main characters. One of the worst characters on the show has one of the best transformations. How stupid is that.

4. Her outfit is nowhere near as though out as Queen bee

Look at her. It’s an outfit that both clearly shows who she is and has a really well thought out composition. I need a list for all that this does well, but this is already getting long enough so here’s a summary. She properly looks like a bee, black limbs and a yellow torso, she is designed to move your eyes, her stripes move your eyes downward to look at her legs and then upwards again to her completely, this is accomplished with the stripes getting smaller, also an adorable detail, her fingers look like she’s gathering pollen.

This is a great outfit compare this to vesperia

She barely even resembles a wasp (I will get back to that), yellow limbs and a black torso, it’s like doing the opposite approach. The black fingers add nothing as it doesn’t represent anything and does a poor job a balancing. Her pattern is now on everywhere her legs, also those are not insect stripes, those are tiger stripes at best. Her outfit doesn’t guide your eyes anywhere, I didn’t expect the copy to be better but it shouldn’t be this bad, you already made a bee before, learn from that, take note what people like and don’t, but hey what do you expect from a one dimensional replacement that was only added in because light gray was far to nuanced, yes I’m talking about Chloe when I say gray… I miss season two.

5. Thai isn’t a god dammed bee, it’s a wasp. The BEE miraculous made a wasp. You don’t see the mouse turning into a hamster, that’s because they’re different species, I can excuse hawkmoth because moths and butterflies are I the same family and he’s the villain. But this is stupid.

With all this said, what does vesperia have going for her. I haven’t even dissected her personality and I already have a huge rant about her and as some may have noticed I took apart and complained about everything in this outfit. Compare the good things to the bad. There are 4 good things, two of witch are basically the same thing and one witch I complained about. The favoritism towards her is also staggering.

Final note, about Chloe and her. If I was Chloe I would be pissed. A few episodes ago a hero whose identity had been revealed had gotten right back into action and now there is someone with the miraculous she used to use, stating how much better she is then her and ladybug does nothing as this wasp just stand around and gloats. The episode doesn’t seem to show vesperia explaining the situation to Chloe, so for all she knows someone who is far more self-centered then her is still given access to the bee. It’s honestly kinda sad if you think about it that way.

Okay quick rundown for the Bee, Wasp and Hornet AU just to hammer out the jumbled thoughts.

The AU starts at Miracle Queen. Chloé refuses Hawkmoth's threats. He uses the Rabbit Miraculous and tosses her into the Burrow. He doesn't really care when she ends up, hoping she's out of the way long enough for him to put his own plan in place.

Somehow (possibly with a reverse Catalyst to let Mayura make multiple Sentimonsters?) a new Sentimonster is made to replace Chloé. This one is programmed to be worse than Chloé, act like a mini!Audrey, and most importantly: cause problems for Gabriel to make Akumas out of.

We go through Season 4-5. Senti!Chloé acting like she does in Canon. No one notices. Her parents don't care about her, her classmates think that she's just being a jerk again, Zoé cares but doesn't know Chloé only having met the Sentimonster. Adrien and Sabrina care, but they think her worsening behavior is from other influences (Ladybug's seeming abandonment, Audrey's influence, constant Akumas(being them and being attacked), Vesperia replacing her, Lila's influence, etc.). They still eventually cannot put up with 'Chloé's' antics and cut off the friendship.

We're adjusting some Season 5 episodes. Derision's flashbacks are more in line with Season 1-3 and there's no attempted murder from Adrien. The bathroom peep window is just changed to Sabrina on a zoom call(and maybe Mari informing the class beforehand?). LB and CN actually try to stop the Akuma from running the mayor out of office instead of joining her, and while Senti!Chloé attempts to declare herself Mayor the city doesn't just roll with that there's protocol my dudes.

Anyway! Back to Real!Chloé

I'm debating on if she does anything inbetween. She might just be in the Burrow for a while? Which does confuse her and it's hard to really tell how long she's been in there.

Eventually she manages to figure a way out of the Burrow and lands in Season 5, yeeted into Mari's room in the middle of the night. Mari panics, but Chloé looks all kinds of wild and also got yeeted through a Burrow so clearly there's something.

Chloé eventually realizes that she was replaced. Mari is still debating on that because clearly one of them is a Sentimonster. So she's gonna have to drag Felix into this somehow for him to tell her which one. Felix will eventually blindside her with the idea of them both being Sentimonsters.

Chloé gets to learn how much her replacement fucked things up. Thankfully Mari helps (quietly) bring in some of the other characters. Alya, Adrien, Zoé and Sabrina all get told. Adrien and Sabrina are super apologetic that they didn't realize, but Chloé is kinda chill about it? Like she knows a lot was going on and the idea of being replaced is so far from their heads.

She's also the one who shows sympathy for her replacement. She knows Senti!Chloé had no choice. So the first order of business is getting her Amok and getting her away from Audrey and Andre.

Speaking of. Chloé is horrified to hear about all that and about Andre disowning her in favor of Zoé. Ofc Zoé is pissed at Andre for that and is trying to get away from him as well.

Senti!Chloé has a crisis about learning she's a fake, but does cool off on her bitchy programming and wants to learn who to be outside of that now that she can. She also now goes by Joé.

Don't know if we'll fully get around to defeating Gabriel, but if we do then Adrien gets to learn about the other Sentikids plot.

Review: "Vesperia" Fashion Doll from Playmates Toys

So, I'm currently down with a torn ligament in my foot, so I bought Vesperia to play around with while I heal. She arrived today, and I decided to review her!

Vesperia was first teased in January of 2022 on the Zag Store's Instagram story, and was officially announced the next month, in the February issue of the Toy Book. She released in March in Europe, and in the U.S. on August 1st.

I was pretty impressed by this, since Vesperia debuted in the episode "Queen Banana", which aired on May 28th, 2021, so she was designed and released less than a year after her introduction into the show. I will say though, I find it quite amusing that her U.S. release was after the season 4 finale of Miraculous aired, where... well, I won't give it away, but if you've seen the finale, I bet you'll get what what I'm talking about.

Onto the doll!

Vesperia has the new package design I briefly mentioned in my post about the U.S. Bunnyx. The package has the rainbow pattern that's been all over the season 4 merchandise, and the updated Miraculous logo, with a yin-yang symbol as the 'o' instead of a ladybug pattern.

The back, instead of the standard back that all of the previous dolls had, the new package design is specific to each character, with an image of the character on the left, and information on the right, including their civilian name, superhero name, Miraculous, Kwami, superpower, and transformation phrase, as well as a short blurb about the character. I like this in theory, but both Vesperia and Lucky Charm Ladybug's have some wrong information on them, which I'll get into in another post.

Right out of the box, Vesperia comes holding her spinning top, and with her Bee Miraculous next to her. Unfortunately, unlike Queen Bee, she does not come with her Kwami, Pollen. I suppose if you have both, they'd have to share. I do wish she came with her, though.

I also found a little catalogue pamphlet tucked into the box next to her feet! I love when toy companies do this. It's neat to look through, especially many years down the line when all of the items are no longer available, it's cool seeing what had been available at the time. I believe Vesperia, Lucky Charm Ladybug and her scooter, Talk and Sparkle Ladybug, and the movie dolls come with it. I may do another post just about the catalogue.

Like all of the Playmates Miraculous hero dolls, Vesperia has a one-piece suit with separate shoes. I think it's pretty accurate to Vesperia's suit in the series, except she doesn't have the gold stripe down the front or the gold 'V' at the top. Lucky Charm Ladybug has a similar issue, where she doesn't have the zipper-like black stripe down the front with the ladybug charm at the top. While it looks odd on Ladybug's simplistic suit, Vesperia's suit has enough going on with it that it looks fine without it.

Her hands are also bare, but I've come to get used to it with the Playmates dolls.

Design-wise, I find it quite interesting how Vesperia looks more like a wasp than a bee, especially considering she has the bee Miraculous. At first, I thought it was just me, until I read the Playmates description for her, which calls her "waspish" and that her suit is wasp themed.

She has 15 points of articulation, with movement at her:

Neck

Shoulders

Double-jointed elbows

Wrists (which only swivel)

Hips

Double jointed knees

Her neck can only move side to side, which seems to only be an issue with this initial wave of U.S. Vesperia dolls, it isn't supposed to be so limited. I also find my particular doll seems to be on the looser side. She isn't loose, she can still hold a pose, and isn't floppy, but isn't super tight, either.

I really like Vesperia's face! I think she bares a great resemblance to her character in the show, even down to the orangy shade of her lips!

Vesperia has blue eyes, orangy peach lips, and and a large black and yellow mask.

My particular doll has a few imperfections in her paint, but it doesn't bother me too much.

She has blonde and black hair tied back into a braid, with two sections of her bangs sticking out, and two blonde sections twisted back. Unfortunately, my Vesperia's bangs are cut pretty short, and slightly choppily.

Here's the back of her hair. It's actually super soft! I haven't had any other Miraculous dolls with hair this soft! The only parts of her hair that aren't soft are her bangs, which are gelled, and the cut end of her braid.

She's also *very* bald. Her hair is only rooted around the edges, since it's intended to remain in the braid. Despite being so thinly rooted, she still has a pretty thick braid!

I noticed she has little black pieces of loose hair near her bangs and the end of her hair, where her hair was cut. I guess it's cut after being styled, that's interesting! They dusted off pretty easily.

And here's her (slightly crooked) Miraculous, the bee comb, in her hair. It isn't actually a comb, it's a clip, which is why the (overexposed) end doesn't actually go in her hair. It kind of looks like it's floating. It's the same mold as Queen Bee's, but is painted differently. I do wish it had the antenna(?) it has in the series, but it looks fine, and does it's job.

I was a bit nervous about clipping it into her hair, not wanting to mess up her hair, but the top of her braid isn't super tight, so I was able to easily get it in. In fact, I think I could actually get it out without messing up her hair as well!

Her shoes are so cool! Instead of the regular boot mold, Vesperia has a new shoe mold. The ankles go up higher than the regular boots, which I think really helps. My biggest issue with the Playmates shoes is that the doll's ankles are almost always showing. With Vesperia, her ankles are almost always covered?

And do you see that? Her shoes have painted details, and she's a U.S. release!! With the Playmates Miraculous line, many of the dolls have painted details on their shoes when they first release, but they're usually removed for the U.S. release. Vesperia got to keep hers, but I'm unsure for how long she'll keep them. I recommend purchasing her sooner rather than later if the painted shoe details are important to you.

Lastly, she comes with her spinning top. It doesn't actually spin, but it does have a string with a loop so she can hold it, as well as a hook on the top itself so you can either hook it to her finger, or hook it onto the string's loop so she can wear it around her waist.

Overall, I'm very pleased with Vesperia, and I'd give her a solid A. While she has a few issues, none of them are too glaring to me, and will most likely be fixed with later waves, if they will be an issue for you. I do wish she came with Pollen, but her face and shoes really make up for it. I definitely recommend her!
