I only watched the first four episodes of season four and have only the vaguest notion of what happens in the rest of it. And I've been told that I misread what was going on and that that's not where the plot was going. But.
I cannot get over the wasted potential of not having Vecna's Curse target, specifically, people who feel guilt over being responsible for another person's death. (Even though they're not, actually, responsible.)
Like. Apparently what was going on with Chrissy was an eating disorder. I misread the coding on that hard in the early episodes, and thought that she'd recently been to Chicago to see Jane. And if she had...apparently Jason was also super religious? If Chrissy had had an abortion, because they'd been having sex, then that makes a whole thematic reinforcement to his hypocrisy and whatever half-baked point the show sort of made gestures at making about the Satanic Panic.
Then there's Fred and his friend. Whatsisface in Pennhurst, the older Creel, and the baby in the house he ordered the bombing on. Max and Billy. Nancy and Barb. (Hell, Steve and Barb if you really want to play to your audience.) You could even use that to tie in the adults' storyline - we haven't heard about Hopper's guilt over Sara in a minute!
And all of that would dovetail nicely into motive. Because apparently "Vecna" is, in fact, Henry Creel, is in fact Experiment 001? Who [something something something] psychic powers [something something] horrific child abuse [something something something] massacre at the Hawkins lab [something something] Always Chaotic Axe-Crazy?
But it would make so much sense for a child who'd been ripped from his family, survived awful mistreatment in the name of the greater good, and been witness to the deaths of other kids just like him due to the actions of people who didn't seem to care, who didn't seem to see it as their fault, to be lashing out at anybody he perceived to be like those people.
It would have made sense. It would have been a reason. It would have drawn a throughline from the Big Bad's motivation through to Our Heroes and their actions. It would have given them so much room to work with consequences of the earlier seasons coming back to bite Our Heroes, and could have gone in some really good directions about exploring survivor's guilt and whether these characters really were responsible for any of the deaths they take as their responsibility. And also about institutional hurt and how sometimes, people who have no other option and no way to reach the people who actually hurt them will just aim their pain at anyone in reach, anyone who looks enough like the person who hurt them if you squint and hold your tongue just right, and how, to make actual change against the systems that hurt people, we all need to keep in mind who the real enemy is. It could have been so good.

Girl, Put Your Records On | Eddie Roundtree x Reader
A/N: I haven't seen any fics with him, so I had to make one. I love his character so much.
Blurb: Being the daughter of a music producer has its perks, and one of those is meeting Daisy Jones and The Six's Eddie Roundtree.
Warnings: Just fluff and a hit of angst, implied intercourse (no detail)
Daisy Jones and The Six Masterlist
Tumblr media
Being the daughter of a music producer had it's perks. For starters, you were able to listen to new albums and singles before anyone else. While the rest of the world waited for upcoming releases, you were already taking the record out of its sleeve and putting it on the phonograph.
Not to mention all the artists and bands you were able to meet. Your father was constantly popping open a bottle of champagne to celebrate his clients to celebrate their upcoming albums and tours.
Although you were too young to drink yourself, it was nice to feel included. Being there with your father, surrounded by new and interesting people with dozens of stories to share.
But being the daughter of a music producer has its downsides, too. On the smaller scale, sometimes your favorite songs wouldn't make the cut. When you were younger, it hit harder. But as you got older, you just accepted it and moved on.
That wasn't the only down that the role came with, however. You were a young, beautiful, kind girl with a heart of gold and a lot of love to give. Not many men in the industry had any problem taking advantage of that.
There was a thrill to it, for them. Sneaking around with their producer's daughter with the possibility of getting caught at any moment. You were sixteen when you had your first love. He told you all the right things, did all the right things. But the night before he left, he tried to convince you to "live in the moment" while leading you to his van.
It didn't take long for you to realize what was happening, so you freed yourself from his grasp, shoving him back and walking back inside your home.
He was too old for you, anyway. He was twenty, and you were still a kid. It wasn't right, but it was the seventies and he was gaining popularity. It didn't matter what he did, he had every girl in America wrapped around his finger. You, however, had made the choice not to be one of them.
A few years later, when you were nineteen, an up and coming group walked inside your father's studio. He was hesitant about letting them record, but he trusted Teddy and gave them a shot, alllowing you to sit inside the sound booth to hear them play.
You could see the nervousness written all over their faces as they got ready to play. They wanted to impress Teddy, and you didn't blame them. He wasn't easy to read.
Reclining in your seat beside Marcus, who gradually increased the volume on the lead vocalist and lowered the sound of the guitars, you smiled as you listened to them play.
By the end of their demo, you were on the edge of your seat waiting to find out whether or not they'd get an offer.
While Teddy went to discuss it with your father, you stepped out of the sound booth and made your way towards the group.
Smiling, you held out a hand to the only woman, who was closest to you when you walked in, introducing yourself, "Hey, I'm Y/N."
Karen gave you a gentle smile, shaking your hand, "Nice to meet you, I'm Karen."
The drummer, who was fiddling with his drum sticks, hollered over her, "That's Karen Karen."
Raising a brow, you couldn't help but release a small laugh, "Karen Karen?"
The blonde shot him a look, "Fuck off, Warren."
Warren grinned, nodding his head as a way of greeting you.
Beside him, the lead vocalist looked over at you, "Is there something you need, Samantha?"
"It's Y/N," You corrected, "And I just wanted to say I like your sound. It's different. I think you guys have a good chance of getting a deal."
One of the guitarists, the one with curly hair who had been ogling Karen for the past half hour, smiled up at you from his seat on the amp, "Thank you, Y/N. Our main focus is creating music that people l-"
"For the love of God, Graham, shut up," The vocalist grumbled, turning back towards you, "Look, it's nice to meet you, but we're a bit busy here."
Graham held his hands up in surrender, returning to fiddling with his guitar, mouthing "sorry" to you.
The fifth member of the group, who had been nervously tapping his foot flashed his bandmate an irritated look, "C'mon, Billy, she's just being nice. At least people actually like our music."
"Eddie, all I'm saying is that we need to spend less time socializing and more time figuring out what we do if we don't get this deal."
On that note, you cleared your throat, "You'll get the deal."
Simultaneously, Eddie and Billy spoke over one another, the former asking if you really thought so and the latter asking how in the hell you knew.
"I know Mr. L/N well, and so does Teddy. Look, the last few bands Teddy has invested in haven't been doing too great. But I really think you guys have a chance. I know you guys do."
Eddie gave you a lopsided smile, "They liked us in Pittsburgh, I don't see how this is any different."
Billy glared back at him, "If you'll excuse us, I think we have a few things to discuss."
Nodding, you turned to exit, giving the band one last smile. But before you could step out the door, Teddy came back in with your father in tow.
Teddy looked at the band, "We're giving you a shot, don't blow it."
The band, who Teddy had earlier referred to as The Six, erupted in smiles, hugging each other and patting one another on the back.
Your dad wrapped an arm around you, addressing the band, "I see you've met my daughter?"
Billy's eyes widened a bit. He thought you were just some random kid. But you had been in the sound booth, he should've known better.
Warren, who was very obviously high, nodded, "Yeah, she's hot."
Wincing, Karen glared at him, "She's been very kind, Mr. L/N."
Your dad eyed Warren, kissing you on the head before congratulating the band one last time, kissing you on the forehead, and walking back to his office.
Once he was out of sight, Eddie took one of Warren's drumsticks out of his hands and smacked him on the head with it, muttering, "Dumbass, that was her dad."
The drummer's mouth formed an "O", "You think he knows?"
"Jesus Christ, Warren," Karen said, shaking her head before turning to Billy, "And you, you need to get the stick out of your ass."
A look of pride settled on Eddie's face. You could tell the two of them didn't see eye to eye just from the small interactions you had with them.
Moving towards the exit, you waved them goodbye, "I'll see you guys around."
Warren and Graham waved happily, Karen and Billy nodded, and Eddie tilt his head to the side with a smile.
Once you were out of earshot, Karen looked back at Eddie, "Jealous, are you, Roundtree?"
"Piss off, Karen."
Warren looked between the two of them, connecting the dots, "Psst, Karen, I think he's jealous."
Rolling her eyes, she flashed him an irritated smile, "Yeah, I figured that out, thanks."
------------------------------------------------------------
Billy: As soon as we got the news and packed up, I ran to the nearest phone to tell Camila. She had always believed in us, and now everything was falling into place.
Karen: I think I went back and got drunk in my room afterwards. We may have gone out to eat, I don't remember. We had been living gig to gig, I was just happy to have an income.
Camila: It was the first time in a while that Billy really seemed happy with how the band was going. He had always believed in it, but I really think it helped him to see that everything was coming into place. That we wouldn't be living in a shack forever.
Warren: I don't even remember being in the studio. I was in my twenties, I was doing anything I could get my hands on. Drugs, alcohol, women. I was just along for the ride.
Karen: I could still kill Warren for telling the producer's daughter, Y/N, that she was hot in front of her dad.
Warren: We all thought it. Especially Eddie. I was just the one who said it.
Eddie: There was something about Y/N that was different. She wasn't just a newfound fan, she believed in us from the start. She and Camila were the first people to have our record in their hands. As for Warren's comment to her dad... She was beautiful, still is, I just think he could've handled it better. A lot better. By not saying anything.
Graham: It was nice to know that someone outside of the band and Teddy believed in us. Moving out to LA meant that we were starting over. In Pittsburgh, nearly the whole city had heard of us. At least, the people our age.
Eddie: That day was a turning point for the band.
Camila: There was no going back after that. They started recording and within a month, they were on their first tour.
------------------------------------------------------------
You came to every recording session The Six had, excitedly listening to their songs and giving input. You studied the way Marcus moved the volume and reverb, making a mental note of it. What he did had always fascinated you, and he was willing to teach you. It was one of the perks of being F/N L/N's daughter. People bent over bsckwards to make you happy.
Over the course of their time recording, you went out for drinks a few times with them.
You met Camila, who you adored, and quickly became friends with. You wouldn't have changed any of it for the world.
Well, except one thing.
From the moment you met Eddie Roundtree, your heart hadn't stopped fluttering, skipping a beat every time he walked into the room.
Warren constantly teased the two of you about it, suggesting different ways to release the tension between the two of you.
Karen kicked him under the table, giving him a look that sent fear down his spine.
It made the moment awkward for a minute, but the band could sense it was bound to happen.
Eddie was used to being pushed around by Billy, who was by far the most popular and well-known member of The Six. But for once, he was first place. With you.
The two of you often nursed a glass of champagne, talking to one another at the bar while Graham attempted to flirt with Karen, who wound up finding another guy to hook up with, and Warren fell into a crowd of women.
He took a sip, looking down at you, "What's it like, getting to hear new music before anyone else? Not just ours, but in general."
"It's incredible. Don't get me wrong, being in the studio so much has its ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. There's nothing else I can imagine myself doing. That's why I want to work in the sound booth."
"You do?"
"Yeah, Marcus offered to teach me a while back. I just wanted to wait until you guys went on tour. I just want to focus on The Six, just taking it all in."
Eddie bit his bottom lip, "So... You and Marcus...?"
You shook your head, "Are friends. My mother is friends with his. We grew up together, he's just a few years older. He's protective, like how I imagine an older brother would be."
He nodded, "So, are you seeing anyone?"
"No," You let out a shaky breath, not meeting his eyes, "Are you?"
"No, are—I already asked you that," He said nervously, swirling his glass in his hand, "Do you... Have an interest in... You know, seeing anyone?"
"It depends on who it is," You said, heat rising to your cheeks, "And you? Anyone on your mind?"
He set down his glass, looking at you, "There is."
Meeting his eyes, you turned your back to the counter, leaning on it for support, "What's she like?"
"You have a mirror?"
You burst out laughing, "Is that your best line, Eddie? C'mon, you can do better than that."
He put his head in his hands, embarrassed.
Pressing a hand to his back, you used your other to pry his head away from his hands, "Don't worry, you can make it up to me."
Raising a brow, he tilted his head, "And how can I do that?"
"Pick me up on Friday at six."
"That's the day before tour starts."
"I know."
He nodded, "Wear something nice."
"Don't I always," You tease, stumbling into his chest.
He lifted the glass from your hands, "You know what I mean. I do, however, think you've had enough of this. C'mon, I'll drive you home"
------------------------------------------------------------
Warren: I was so happy to see Eddie leaving with Y/N. He was growing up, leaving the nest. It was about time he got laid.
Eddie: I drove her home. She had driven herself, but I was worried with her having three glasses. Truthfully, I just wanted to see her get home safe. And she did. I dropped her off at her door, walked her up, and waited until she got inside before I left. Once I got back in the car, it hit me—I had a date with Y/N.
Karen: I think he was more excited about the date than the record deal.
Eddie: It had just been a big few months. Moving to LA, getting a deal, meeting Y/N. Things were finally going my way.
------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie: Long distance relationships weren't easy by any means. I was the one who had to call, since we were constantly moving around. It strained us a bit, but she was able to go to a few of our concerts and I got to see her, take her out a few times.
Karen: Y/N visited us while we were in the northeastern part of the states. She stayed with us for a week and a half. And I never got any damn sleep while she was with Eddie. They could've been quieter, but I guess it was young love.
Eddie: She had her own hotel room during her time staying with us. Her dad set it up. We'd just stay in mine talking to one another.
Warren: Eddie swore nothing happened in his hotel room when he was alone with her, but I was on the other side of the wall. Look, I was pretty high, but it'd be hard to forget that. I may have been the one to call her hot, but he was the one that took it three, four steps further. Good for him, though.
Eddie: It was only when we got back from the tour that things started to go downhill with me and Y/N.
Camila: After I gave birth to Julia, Billy checked into Rehab. I was on my own for a while. But when the band came back, they were there to help me. Julia enjoyed time with Uncle Graham and Eddie, and Y/N whenever she was off work.
Graham: Eddie and I were there a few times a week just helping out and checking in on Camila and Julia. I loved that kid more than anything. We'd just sit out in the grass and I'd sing to her.
Eddie: Camila needed all the help she could get, especially with Billy not being there. Not that he would've done much anyway, to be honest. I tried to be there for her and Julia in any way I could. I didn't realize that it would tear Y/N and I apart.
------------------------------------------------------------
"Eddie, I barely ever get to see you. Can't you go one day without seeing Camila and Julia? You can stay with me. It's better than that shack."
"That shack is my home, whether it's shit or not, Y/N," He grumbled, "Camila needs all the help she can get with Julia. She's only a few months old."
"Her mother is with her, Eddie. She's got her mom, Graham, the whole band really. It's not that I don't want you to be with them, I just want to see you. I never get to see you."
Eddie sighed, "Y/N, they mean everything to me."
"They're your bandmates, I get it, I just—"
"Y/N..."
It was written all over his face. He wasn't just talking about The Six.
------------------------------------------------------------
Karen: We'd all known, except for maybe Billy and Camila, that Eddie was in love with Camila. We just thought that he had put those feelings aside when he met Y/N.
Warren: Out of all the girls Eddie had dated, which hadn't been much, she was my favorite. She was fun, she kept up with us, she was passionate about music and the band. When they broke up, I nearly snapped the guys neck. And I'm not a violent guy. She just deserved better than whatever the hell that was.
Eddie: Camila and Billy were married. I would never have come in the way of that. At the same time, it wasn't fair to Y/N. I loved her with my whole being, but I still had some unresolved feelings for Camila that started stiring when Billy was gone. It's wrong, and I know that, but it wasn't fair.
Graham: Eddie was an idiot for what happened. I remember when he came back from their first date. He swore up and down that they'd get married one day.
------------------------------------------------------------
When the band broke up, everyone went their separate ways. Karen continued touring, this time without Daisy and The Six. Warren got married and started working on boats, which became a passion for him. Billy stepped away from music and settled into life with Camila and his daughters and Graham continued working in the music industry, starting his own family. Daisy recovered from her addictions, and wound up adopting kids of her own.
These all took years to play out. But not for Eddie.
As soon as the band was over with, the first thing he did was buy a ticket to LA and knock on Y/N's door.
He explained everything and told her he loved her, he always had.
------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N Roundtree: Eddie proposed to me the night he showed up on my doorstep. He told me he couldn't imagine a life without me. I was touched.
Eddie: But she said no.
Y/N: I loved him, but I told him it would take time. We still had so much we didn't know about each other. It had been ages since I had seen him. I didn't even know that the Six had split up until he told me. He was back in LA that fast after the split.
Eddie: We did get to know each other, though. And I proposed almost a year later. We got married a few months after that. And the rest is history.
Y/N: It was a quiet ceremony. Eddie didn't want Billy there, and thought it may be a bit off putting for me to have Camila there. But I knew how much he cared about her and the girls, so we extended an invite.
Camila: Billy and Eddie never really saw eye to eye, and with Billy finally getting comfortable with family life, I didn't think it would be good to thrust him back into that.
Eddie: Y/N was a little upset they chose not to come, but understood. If you invite half a family, it doesn't exactly work.
Billy: I was surprised Eddie found the balls to get married.
Y/N: It wound up just being Eddie's immediate family, mine, Marcus, Warren, and Graham. Daisy showed up a few days earlier to congratulate us on our wedding, bringing a guitar with her as a gift. She just didn't think being back in that environment would be good for her. There would be too many questions.
Daisy: Just because the band was over doesn't mean the music couldn't continue. Eddie was a good guitarist and Y/N knew everything about managing sound and rhythms, so I figured it was an appropriate gift. I was really happy for them.
Eddie: Karen was touring at the time and wasn't able to make it, but she visited once the tour was over and stayed a few days.
Y/N: I preferred having a smaller wedding, with the people we knew the most.
Warren: They had great alcohol. I wasn't high during the reception, so I was actually able to enjoy it. I even met my wife there.
Graham: It made me long for a relationship, honestly. But it also made me realize I need to focus on myself first. I didn't want to just settle to settle.
Y/N: Our son was born a year and a half after we got married and music was automatically a big part of his life. He'd sit on Eddie's lap at not even a year old while Ed played the guitar. I still have pictures of them back then on the mantle.
Grant Roundtree, Eddie and Y/N's oldest son: I remember when I decided I wanted to pursue music. Dad sat me down and explained what happens when you achieve fame and how to handle it. Mom told me that I needed to take it one step at a time and really enjoy my childhood.
Farrah Roundtree, Eddie and Y/N's daughter: Grant never stopped playing that damn guitar mom gave him.
Grant: Sometimes I played just to drive Farrah and Eli crazy. I never stopped.
Eli Roundtree, Eddie and Y/N's youngest son: I wanted to be just like Grant when I was younger. He was my cooler, older brother. He even taught me how to play the guitar and I could carry a tune, but my stage fright got in the way of anything beyond that.
Eddie: Grant went into the music field, Farrah pursued modeling and is now acting, and Eli is just now graduating from high school, planning to attend college this fall.
Y/N: I'll always be grateful for Daisy Jones and The Six, but I've got to be honest—I'm even happier it ended when it did.
Eddie: Everything happens for a reason, and for me, it couldn't have ended at a better time.

Ghouls at the Airport
To preface these silly hcs I want to say that taking the ghouls through an airport is a life-changing experience, in that it will take 10 years off your life span. It's not for the faint-hearted, but alas here is what happens when the ghouls (the characters, obviously) have to take a plane to their next show!
Also consider this a 100 follower special !! Thanks to everyone who decided I was entertaining enough to follow, I love you all <3
Dew is on a leash. That man simply cannot be trusted not to lurch at strangers or run off when he hears the roar of a plane engine. They found out the hard way on his first tour as a water ghoul. They were on the tarmac, about to board the plane and Dew ran off to cosy up in the engines. The band nearly had to tour without a bassist that year...
Tumblr media
(I take absolutely no credit for the idea of ghouls wearing these, whoever said it feel free to credit yourself I'm sorry I can't remember you!) Edit: @jesusbutbetterrr big brain monkey bag thoughts
Aurora gets overstimulated really easily (can you blame her?). Mountain lent her his big ear defenders once and she's been hooked ever since. She claimed the camo defenders as hers, even though they don't sit right on her tiny head, she loves them dearly! Mountain had to buy a new pair, but he doesn't mind. He's happy if his pack are happy.
Aether and Mountain are straight through bag drop, security, the lot. They're old ghouls and have the routine down by now. They know the faster they make it through security, the more time they have to sneak off to the disgusting airport toilets for some even more disgusting airport sex.
Cumulus is already high on half a bottle of sleeping pills. She gets restless on the plane so doses up early on. Unfortunately that means she is completely out of it and has to be guided around entirely by the others. She was once put in charge of Dewdrop's leash and, yet again, they nearly had to tour without a lead guitarist.
Cirrus is basically unconscious for the entire journey through the airport, curled up on a luggage trolley being driven by Dew. Travelling really tires her out and the pack don't want to get on her bad side so they leave her be.
Rain is incredibly spoiled. The whole pack know that if you set him loose on his own to catch a flight, he wouldn't make it past the front doors. He's been coddled by everyone since he was summoned, and he lives for it, he never has to lift a finger. Swiss, ever the gentleman, always carries his bags and holds Rain's shoes when they go through security. It's just an excuse to reenact the slipper scene from Cinderella
Phantom tries to order an insanely expensive Starbucks in the airport (it's just a hot chocolate with a marshmallow, why is it £4?!) but misses them calling his human name "Why would anyone name themselves 'Tom'?"
Swiss has a four-wheeler suitcase. He loves to sit on it and propel himself around like a toddler. In fact, the pack bought him an adult-sized one of these after he kept breaking everyone else's bags:

Eyes on you in the short skirt

Lords of chaos ~ masterlist
Rory Culkin's character ~ masterlist
Info : Thanks for the request and a very good outfit choice I must say ;) It was nice to write and have fun reading, everyone else too
Disclaimer : I don't want to glorify anything, it's about the actors who play a role, not the real events.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The illuminated room in the evening was not quiet like her parents. Or accompanied by a children's audio book like her little brother's. Nor was it colourfully lit like the party across the hall. ,,A bunch of posers," she muttered as she pushed aside the dark curtain and looked at the colourfully lit house.
It was a party for the town's well-known cheerleader and student body president. Too colourful, too bright for Y/n's taste.
But she didn't let herself be distracted, instead she pulled the curtain back and listened to her music again. Black metal by Venom was playing very loudly from the record player she had bought herself.The only good way to listen to metal she heard her friend say in her head.
She remembered how they had gone together to every shop that sold music. After that, the metal section was more than empty, that was for sure. But not just buying music, everything black that had leather and studs.
Getting ready for concerts and painting their faces with corpse paint was another thing they liked. Alone or together it was all good. Just as she was about to turn to her record player, she heard her phone ring.
Reaching for the receiver and putting it to her ear she heard her friend's voice. ,,Hey Y/n, what's up? Say, I've got a ticket left for Mayhem, they're playing at the city centre tonight" she heard the words and her lips twisted into a grin.
Mayhem was a relatively new band in this music field and yet they were notorious. Not only for the performances they offered which included blood, death, corpses and pretty much everything evil.
Even the band members were no pure background characters. ,,I'll be with you in fifteen minutes," she said, slamming down the receiver and hurrying to her wardrobe. When she opened it, she was greeted by black clothes. Nothing new and yet she knew exactly what she wanted to wear.
She decided to grab her shortest black skirt and the smallest top she had. Not least because it made her body stand out more than a little and maybe she could show off a little too. Slipping into her new clothes she looked at herself in her broken mirror.
It was tight, short and ,,Perfect" she murmured and lastly fixed her hair and make-up, which she decided to keep sexy. Corpsepaint, maybe he'll paint it for me she thought, thinking of the picture of Euronymous she had seen in the newspaper. "The new Satanist children" was the headline and a smirk came to her lips.
The night would be perfect. Grabbing her boots and trying to go down the stairs quietly, she listened once more inside the house.
But her parents were asleep and so was her brother. She was free. Rushing out of the house and taking the short way to her friend's house, she couldn't help but cheer with delight.
Not only would she see her friend, again at a concert together. No, she would also see Mayhem. The walk to her friend's house was quickly done and from there they walked the rest of the short way to their destination.
The city centre or rather the Aulla of the city was big, not huge but big enough to hold a good concert. Showing their tickets, they eagerly mingled with the crowd, grabbed a beer and gazed at the many different people.
All of them looked darker, more satanic and more frightening than the other. But none of this mattered when the band came on stage and the first note was played.
The crowd went wild, screaming and singing along, the first carcasses were thrown into the crowd and Y/n even thought he got blood from somewhere. But it could not have been better. Especially when she was sure that she felt Euronymou's gaze on her. More than once.
But the point where she almost thought she felt the dark magic and Satan was when one of the band members came up to her. She was about to leave and her friend wanted to make a quick stop at the merch stand.
When the band leader came up to them and said, ,,Euronymous wants to see you". No sooner had she said the words than her friend practically pushed her back towards the stage and said, ,,Call me later, I want to know every detail," before she happily continued to pop as if she hadn't noticed anything. But now Y/n was on stage where the band had been a few minutes ago.
It was exciting to look back at the now empty space. Maybe I'll stand here one day? she thought with a smile and had to think back to her bad attempts which included breaking several guitars.
But of course she was a natural. ,,Just go down the corridor, through the black door," he said and showed her the way with his hand. Hastily walking down the corridor, she adjusted her clothes, feeling her heart beat faster in anticipation. Before she arrived at the door, knocked lightly and went inside.
Inside the room, she immediately smelled cigarettes and beer. ,,You're here," murmured a voice she knew only too well. Euronymous, the founder of Mayhem, was sitting on a black, old, worn leather sofa. In his hand was the dark beer bottle as his eyes settled on it. ,,You wanted it," she countered and saw that he was holding onto her bust.
He didn't hide it, he didn't have to because that was what she wanted. He nodded briefly as if her answer was heavy and philosophical before taking another sip of his beer.
Before he put it down on the small table and pointed to his leg with his hand. ,,That's what you're here for with the founder of Mayhem...since I saw you tonight" he said and watched as she came closer slowly almost reverently watching him. Waiting for him to do something she didn't see coming. But he sat still, grabbing her hips as she settled onto his lap.
His grip was not painful but the small circles and the scratching of his fingers over her warm soft skin let her know that she should stay. Shouldn't dare pull away now. ,,You were incredible," she murmured, reaching unbidden for his beer bottle and taking a sip. Saw his eyes watching her body.
The short skirt that pushed up slightly with the new position, the top that followed, the obviousness that she wasn't wearing a bra. His eyes showed more than interest and fascination. It was lust.
Taking the bottle from her lips she put it back, but barely looking back at him she felt his hand buried in her hair. Pulling her closer, no matter the compressed position, he engaged her in an intimate kiss. A kiss in which she felt more than just clearly what he wanted, if it wasn't already clear.
The hand that had not wrapped itself in her hair to pull her against him moved down her hip to her bottom. She twitched and smirked slightly as she felt him tighten the lace on her panties.
One by one they slowly moved closer to her centre, almost making her squeal. ,,I knew it, the little top, the short skirt...you're going to be the perfect night," he murmured to her before pulling her off him and onto the cool couch. ,,Gladly," she replied before pulling him close and wrapping him in another kiss. Knowing that the night had many hours to offer.
Hiii 👋 just wanted to say I adore your writing ☺️ I always get so happy when I see you’ve written something new 😁
I was curious to ask, what are some of your favourite modern AU jobs/roles for the bat boys (whether you’ve written about them or not)? Or just any ACOTAR characters?
CEO Rhys has been done a lot, but for good reason, it’s so perfect. He almost has to be effortlessly rich and/or in some position of power, like a prince, or a mafia boss.💰 I also kinda like to imagine him as a nepo baby set to take over his father’s company, but he breaks away or gets cut off, so with his very little actual job experience (as he was all set to inherit), he gets a barista job at a lil coffee shop. ☕️
Cass would definitely suit something physical, like an ice hockey player, or a firefighter, or a personal trainer. I could so see him being a gym teacher as well, imagine him coaching a kids ice hockey team. 💪🏽 He would SO volunteer to be a nude model in life drawing classes in his free time 😆 Though I hadn’t considered it before I read your stuff, I think he really fits a small town rancher too. I can so picture him in jeans, boots, and a flannel shirt, driving around in an old rusty faded red truck 👨‍🌾
Az could easily be in the FBI or something, but choosing something further away from his canon role, I seriously think he’d be an awkward computer programmer / software engineer nerd, or a twitch gamer, 👨🏻‍💻 with a secret anonymous OnlyFans or erotic audio patreon on the side. 😏 And I reckon he’d ride a motorcycle and tinker with it in his spare time, so might also enjoy working at a garage. 🏍️ I really love him in Midnight Muse, and think he suits a shy amateur artist / tattoo artist as well.
I also love the bat boy band idea I’ve seen a lot recently, where Rhys is the charismatic lead singer and guitarist, Az is the quiet songwriting bassist, and Cass is the energetic drummer. 🎶
Sorry it’s so long, I just love thinking about this stuff 😄
Hiiii!! Thank you so so much! I saw this message this morning but wanted to wait until I could give it my full attention and have my computer around, so thank you for your patience! 💙
Okay, some of my favorite AUs for the batboys? This is a wonderful question!
Rhys: Normally, I just think of Rhys as always having some sort of money/job inherited. So CEO, mafia, anything that puts him in a position of power, really, but i think it's mostly because those just reflect the books.
I do, however, love love love art school rhys. painter rhys. working at the local art supply degenerate rhys who still has wealthy parents but is trying to stick it to the man rhys. steals erasers and petty things from the art supply rhys. love him so much.
There's also something to be said about young adult rhys who's messing around with his little sister's best friend rhys. he gets me going too.
also captain of the hockey team rhys is a solid choice for him as well.
Cass: LOVE ME SOME RANCHER/COWBOY/SMALL TOWN CASSIAN. but, these are all very different. small town cass doesn't trust women, heart broken at a young age with the girl he thought was his forever. doesn't want to leave town, likes the ranch because its safe and its what he knows. cowboy cass or bull rider cassian, famous for breaking horses and backs. grumpy, gruff rancher cassian always gets me going tbh he's fucking hot as shit
i also always see him in a blue collar role like a mechanic or welder are the two i mostly attribute to him.
def something physical as well, we love hockey cass, rugby cass, wrestler (wwe lol) cass, dang i had another on my mind for sports cass but i forgot. sad. OH surfer cassian. jock type tho i can see him as. love the firefighter vibe for him too, he'd fill out the tight fire department t-shirt WELL LADIES and also volunteers for wet t-shirt contests. omg gym teach cass would be adorable as hell! oof another thought, contractor cassian ffs that would be so yummy
Az: Az i agree fits the FBI (stalker) vibes. i also like to think of him in finance or computer science too. omfg the erotic audio that's iconic and i'd def subscribe to that. hmmm what else could i see azzy doing...maybe something with music or writing...i could see him being a ghost writer of some sort and then one day his song plays on the radio and he's like hey i wrote that and literally no one believes him. something behind the scenes or where he can go unnoticed is mostly where i place him, tbh. honestly maybe even something military because he takes comfort in having a set schedule and people telling him what to do at every minute of the day. he'd fare well i think. perfect. operative because if the mission goes south and he gets captured he's not telling a soul anything.
Eris: idk why this thought came to my head but i was thinking about architecture but i think eris would be a fantastic interior designer lol. like i could see it. maybe i was just thinking about him furnishing az's new place and having a lil sparky. i could also see him as a lawyer too or something like that, something where he can be the know-it-all, smirking at them and looking down his nose at them...
Lucien: Architecture for sure. or professor. I could see him doing either of these. maybe even lawyer tbh, he would be good at that too, though i know he's immaculate at twisting stories and words so you gotta be careful of that.
Tamlin: poet? lol. professional gaslighter? jk i love tammy. maybe he installs security systems? haha just kidding just kidding. he's a tough one tho. idk why i added him but i guess also a musician but low-key soothing music, instrumental for sure...prob has a podcast where he just bullshits all day
hopefully i didn't rant for too long about this 🤭💙 this was so much fun though thank you for asking!
Ninjago battle of the bands au, I have so many ideas on this. It's set mostly in the movie verse, with some aspects of the show.
The big bands are:
The serpentine (nobody knows WHY they are popular, but they are. They're not necessarily good, and nobody really likes them, but everyone knows them. Nobody knows why.)
The Preeminent (see below, section EMO)
Sons of Garmadon (see above)
NinjaGo (really popular kpop style band)
Next Generation (dragons rising crew +euphrasia and wyldfyre, their style fluctuates alot)
Other characters and groups show up, but those are the main ones. If someone wasn't mentioned, imagine them as a lesser known band or solo artist.
EMO
So. The Preeminent and Sons of Garmadon are the two main emo/goth esc bands. The goth community is divided on which one is better, and this is one of the biggest topics within it. When it was announced that both groups were competitors in the competition, the people went WILD, and this only grew when it was recently rumored that solo Dj Mr. E was joining SoG.
They're going to lose their minds when the two bands make the announcement they have planned....
Imagine the rest of this like a poster adverting the competition and the bands.
NinjaGo
Members:
Cole Brookstone, son of Lou Brookstone, who had won this competition 12 times before his recent retirement. He's the Dj and the drummer.
Kai Smith, lead singer, plays the guitar. Not much drama with him.
Jay Walker, plays pretty much any remotely electronic instrument you can imagine.
Zane Julien, pianist and backup vocals.
There are rumors of a new member joining, but they have yet to be confirmed. (Spoiler: it's Lloyd. This will cause drama.)
Nya isn't technically a band member, but she's seen with the band enough to be considered one. There are also rumors about her dating the faceless singer Samurai X, though she denies all of these. Her denial does not stop the rumors from spreading.
Wu is basically the bands secretary
Next Generation
Members:
Arin, lead singer
Sora, guitarist and backup vocals
Euphrasia, she plays the keyboard and flute
Wyldfyre, she's a drummer. That is all.
They are a relatively new but still pretty popular band. Winning this competition would be a huge deal for them.
Serpentine
Members:
Pythor, lead vocals.
Scales, he does... Something...
Aspheera she's not in the band Jeff, why did you put her on the list? She's not? Sorry man, I forgot.
Uhhhh... Does anybody actually know the other members? Note to self: do research on this band
The annual Ninjago Talent competition looks forward to seeing you and all of this year's competitors at the competition! Shows will be held at [insert location and times].
Note to Jeff: get better at making posters or were demoting you back to janitor. I'm sick of going back and having to redo the whole poster because of you.
Ryan Ross does not exist and I can prove it
Tumblr media
Don't worry. He's not.
Ryan Ross fans continue to wait patiently for any sign of new music from him. Some loved his work in Panic at the Disco, some are huge fans of his solo releases and live performances captured on YouTube, And as long as you're into pretty looking guys, there's a Ryan Ross for every bisexual taste. Hold up. Is it not kinda weird that he looked so very different in every six month period?
Where is he, the prodigious beautiful boy whose creative vision propelled an early Panic at the Disco to their early fame? It's like it was never real.
It was never real. Ryan Ross does not exist.
"Ryan Ross" was only ever a dream, an alternative persona Pete Wentz created in 2004. Pete wanted to delve further into his adolescent experiences in song lyrics, but fearing the ridicule that would come if Fall Out Boy, now all well into their twenties, started exploring such themes, he brooded over what to do before deciding he could create a new band. He'd find young, talented performers for the positions of lead singer, drums and bass who would perform as themselves; but Pete would insert himself into the band via an avatar, a brooding, Chuck Palanhiuk reading lyricist who would exorcise Pete's teenage demons through the character of "Ryan Ross".
Pete drafted a back story for Ryan Ross - a young kid from Vegas who'd found solace in words and music - then scouted for young, unknown performers who could embody his Ryan Ross character. Any performer who would play the Ryan Ross character obviously had to be able to sing at least well enough to perform live harmonies, and to play guitar. But there are hundreds of young musicians with these skills. And whilst viewing yet another stack of videos of guitar playing 18 year olds who'd responded to the ad that simply asked for audition tapes from young admirers of Blink 182, MCR and FOB who were interested in playing guitar in a new band, Pete hit on an idea.
After all, if he cast an upcoming new performer as "Ryan Ross" in the new band he was putting together, and the band hit it big, surely that person would demand to be outed to the public as their real selves. The intention was always for any musician performing as Ryan Ross to sign an NDA as part of their contract, but Pete could envision a nightmare scenario two or three years into the hopefully successful career of the band he was putting together; a musician tired of the lie and wanting their own share of glory telling him "hey Pete, sure you write the lyrics, but it's me who is up on stage, playing the music, singing, on the magazines, in the webzines. I want people to know it's me, not this imaginary Ryan Ross character".
If that happened, no NDA would be worth as much as the outcry from the media and fans, as much as a musician who signed a contract as a naive teenager would demand as a seasoned performer with years of touring under his belt.
Realising this, Pete hit on the evil genius element of his whole scheme (and also a lyric for London Beckoned Songs About Money Written by Machines). There wouldn't be one Ryan Ross. Instead, from the time he first hyped up the band in blog posts in 2005, there would be a continually rotating cast of "Ryans": every few months, there would be a new skinny jeans wearing guitarist to take over the role of Ryan, to ensure that no individual "Ryan" would ever believe they had enough star power to pull the whole project down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are all pictures of the same person? Really?
With high school friends Brendon, Spencer and Brent, and the first of the "Ryan"s in place, Pete's Panic project hit the ground running. There's was even an adorable story of how Pete discovered the band when Fall Out Boy fan Ryan sent him his new band's demos via Live Journal - simultaneously an "it might happen to you" moment for the Milennial generation, and prompting baffled takes on what this internet thing means for music from older music journalists.
That origin story was the closest anyone got to pulling back the curtain on the Wizard of Emo. The true origins of Panic at the Disco - how and why Pete and Ryan actually made the initial connection that made Pete listen to a fan's demos, drive to Vegas to listen to their band barely able to play their instruments live, then sign said band on this slim basis - was a murky, kalaedoscopic story, "details shifting between each telling of the tale[...] details behind how they made contact, and what was said, are eternally changing and never told quite the same way twice". No wonder, when it entered the record on the basis of a Pete Wentz needing to obscure the truth, and a succession of Ryans reciting for interviewers someone else's memory of what never happened.
But the obvious part of the deception - the fact that "Ryan Ross" never looked like the same person from one season to the next? Pete could barely believe he got away with it, but he did. No one seemed to question it. Fans eagerly took up the myth of Ryan Ross, expanding on an invented history to begin Ryan's story from his birth in Summerlin, Nevada in 1986, despite that before development of the residential community commenced in 1988 Summerlin was empty land. Journalists who slept through the lectures on fact checking on their way through college added this (mis)information to their articles, further obscuring the record.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initially shocked he was pulling the deception off, by the end Pete glowered at his success getting in away with it.
For the potential Ryans were not simply a series of lookalikes. Aside from musical skills and a willingness to subsume their identity in the face of endless touring and inane interviews, potential "Ryans" were mostly selected on finger length, and for their noses; every "Ryan" has a beautiful nose.
Each new Ryan was put through an intensive Panic boot camp; several weeks of learning the bands songs, memorising the back story of the band and Ryan himself, studying videos of the "standard" Ryan mannerisms before joining the band for rehearsals. With Pete himself having the final say, producers scouting for potential Ryans generally stuck to contenders from the south west USA to ensure a consistent accent; although vocal coaches worked with each "Ryan" to develop the trade mark mono tone, the brief experiment in hiring a British performer to play Ryan in 2008 nearly ended in disaster when he kept slipping into his native accent, which to Pete's eternal amusement has gone down in fandom history as the "real", American Ryan trying to sound English.
But even though the music press, and even the rabidly devoted fandom, never seemed to catch on to the fake Ryans, problems inevitably arose. It was easy to get 18 year old guitarists to agree to the stringent conditions required to be Ryan Ross; but despite that Pete allowed some leeway from the performers, allowing them freedom in their social lives and styling choices to reflect the maturing of a real young person, by the time 22 year olds were hired to be Ryan, fresh in on the scam they may have lacked the star power to use Panic to launch their own careers but they were still young men exposed to more money and adulation than they'd seen before, and some of them were making questionable choices.
By 2009, Brendon and Spencer were sick of the lies. They just wanted to continue the music. Pete Wentz saw how Brendon in particular had blossomed in skills and confidence through the years. He also saw the way the commercial winds were blowing - the introspective lyricism of "Ryan Ross" was out, to judge from the reception on its release of Pretty. Odd. On top of all this, "Ryan Ross" was now ostensibly 22; too old to sing about the trials of late adolescence, which had been Pete's reason for creating his Ryan alter ego in the first place.
Seeing the potential long term appeal in a Brendon-driven Panic, Pete told Brendon and Spencer to go forth as Panic at the Disco with his blessing...and let's never mention Ryan again.
Pete's scouting skills weren't impeccable. He let the original band bring along their friend Brent as bass player, despite his shaky skills and apparent lack of commitment. Brent may have played little part in the creation of the band's first album and definitely found touring not to his taste, and he was soon replaced with the far more talented and present Jon Walker, who already had a respectable pedigree in the Chicago scene that spawned Fall Out Boy. Jon participated, albeit reluctantly, in the Ryan charade, forming a close friendship and musical kinship with the last of the fake Ryans. When Pete informed the group that his dream of the fake Ryans was coming to an end, Jon decided to follow this last Ryan, forming the group The Young Veins. Whilst they both appreciated the musicianship, Jon grew increasingly frustrated with the Ryan charade, having to continue the lie of Ryan Ross as the last of the Ryans remained bound by the non disclosure agreement. With sales of the Young Veins debut album not matching the hopes of its creators, Jon left and the band split after just one year.
And thus ended the contractual existence of "Ryan Ross", creation of Pete Wentz.
Some think Brendon looks startled when Ryan is mentioned. It's not because Ryden was ever a thing. There was no Ry for Bren to Den with, just an ever changing cast of young musicians hired by Pete Wentz to be his avatar. When Brendon pauses now he's not lamenting his lost love. He's reflecting on the lie he had to keep up for years and thinking "wait, what was the official line again?"
The Ryan Ross character has been occasionally revived in recent years as a conceptual art project by the musician Z Berg, teasing an album that never arrives, with the role of Ryan in occasional public appearances performed by a few of the former Ryans who are in on the joke. The Ryan Ross character made his last public appearance in 2022, joining former Panic label mates Phantom Planet for a live performance of Do the Panic - a wink to long standing fans of PATD/"Ryan Ross" (and a song that sounds like a dual pastiche to Pumping on Your Stereo by Supergrass and Just What I Needed by The Cars; there really is nothing original under the sun).
There will never be a reunion of the original, "real" Panic at the Disco because the original Panic at the Disco was never real. There will never be a Ryan Ross album because there is no Ryan Ross. Maybe in some future memoir Pete Wentz will tell us all how it was done.
This post is satire. Please do not take it seriously. The real Ryan Ross, who is an individual, actual person, is alive and well and researching literature of the transition from medieval to middle English through USC. (Well, who knows but that seems like something he might do)
hi guys!! i'm so excited that the wheels are finally turning on this fic!! i'm gonna put some basic info yk oc, love interest, trope, place in the band, etc!! fyi idk how many chapters itll be, and the ending probably wont be based off my fic entirely depending on if i want to write that much yk, but i'll see as i go :) !! it's set in march 1983 when i first shift!! things will be a bit more sped up for plot purposes n bc im impatient here, but sadly i have to be patient in my dr 😒 moving on!!
└── •✧• ──┘
!! pov, plot and timeline ༊*·˚
it's in the first person point of view, so for example: "i woke up and went to work" does that make sense? the plot is set in march 1983, well after the move from new york to san francisco with my best friend, dave mustaine.
!! original character info ༊*·˚
name and dob: giana vázquez ┊march 20th, 1963 job: waitress at marco's diner band info: 2nd lead guitarist and vocals in metallica appearance and personality: 5'2, mid-size, black square-ish glasses, dark brown short (but also not?) hair with shaved sides, dark brown eyes, nose hoop and vertical labret piercing, and a gummy-ish smile!! personality is more unfiltered but not mean unless needed, subtly sarcastic, and very kind hearted (not to james).
└── •✧• ──┘
!! main people, other original characters, and love interest info ༊*·˚
dave mustaine: childhood best friend, ex boyfriend, and roommate tori hetfield: best friend, james' twin sister, and metallica's manager jasmine prince: best friend, tech support, and co-manager with tori molly brezowski: best friend, coworker, and tech support lars ulrich: best friend (basically platonic soulmate) cliff burton: best friend and professional pancake lover kirk hammett (haven't met yet): best friend and slash: close friend and ex "fling" nikki sixx: close friend and ex boyfriend
!! love interest info ༊*·˚
my love interest is james hetfield (duh), it's a genuine love hate situation. the trope is enemies to lovers, it's a bit of a slow burn in my dr, but for the fic i plan on speeding it up. despite hating each other, we're still friends and bandmates, of course there's subtle and sometimes blunt flirting, but more on his side than mine. hatred aside, it's the kind of "you came?" "you called" kinda thing, he'll say he hates me and i hate him, but it's his room i go to when i wake up from a nightmare, it's him who i sing my songs to, it's me who he comes to when he's stressed beyond his eyeballs, it's me who he comes to for help with a riff or solo. we hate each other publicly, but privately, it's just different but not? the tension has always been there since we met, but it keeps getting thicker as we spend more time together, whether in rehearsal or in our apartments or hanging out together. it doesn't matter what i say, sober or drunk, i do hate his guts. but when all is said and done, he's there.
i hope this was a well explained intro post and i'm so excited to get to writing :))
A Herrmann/Halstead Production: Original Characters Cast
Hi! I thought it would be fun to put together a post with all of the people I would cast to play the original characters in my series, A Herrmann/Halstead Production.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
First of all, of course, is Bex! Rebecca "Bex" Herrmann is the main original character. She's the younger half sister of both Christopher Herrmann and Will and Jay Halstead.
Adelaide Kane is who I'd pick to play Bex. I think she looks like she could be related to both Herrmann and the Halsteads. (Bex and Will both got their brown eyes from their individual moms, but it ends up making them look more alike. Bex and Jay both got their freckles from Pat. Bex and Chris got their darker hair, nose shape, and smile from their mom.)
Tumblr media
Chris and Bex.
Tumblr media
Jay, Will, and Bex.
Please also enjoy how cute Mouse and Bex look together:
Tumblr media
It's going to be so good once they get their act together. :D
Next up: Bex's friends from college (and band mates!)
Tumblr media
Kiki Layne as Kira Cole and Stephanie Hsu as Malia Lin. (Kira plays lead guitar in their band and Malia plays keyboard.)
Tumblr media
Anthony Hill as Devon Robertson, Tyler Hoechlin as Sam Kent, and Rafael Silva as Isaac Almeida. (Devon plays drums in the band, Sam is Julie Tay's current patrol partner, and Isaac is running the Mouse/Bex betting board with Shay. I have a fun storyline planned for these three guys and Shay and Tay. :D)
Tumblr media
Sinqua Walls as Ben Vernon and Florence Pugh as Faith Callahan. (Ben acts as manager for the band and Faith plays bass.)
Tumblr media
Madison Iseman as Emery Hughes and Bryce Durfee as Ty Anderson. (Yes, Ty is somewhat older than Emery and the group. She met him once they moved back to Chicago, not while they were at school.)
Next is Bex and her band's new rock band friends: Taggert!
Tumblr media
Matthew Daddario as Beau Taggert. (He is the middle Taggert sibling. He's also the lead guitarist of the band and one of the lead singers.)
[I wanted someone who could pull off being broody, sexy rock star guy, but also be fun and charming and kind of goofy. I think Matthew Daddario fits that bill pretty nicely.]
Tumblr media
Beau and Bex. (Might need to do an AU of this AU where they end up together, lol!)
Tumblr media
Katie McGrath as Patti Taggert. (She is the oldest Taggert sibling and the other lead singer of the band. She also plays guitar. Patti is engaged to Pete.)
Tumblr media
Shelley Hennig as Elle Taggert. (She is the youngest Taggert sibling and she plays drums in the band.)
Tumblr media
Oliver Stark as Pete Nash. (He is Patti's fiancé and he plays bass in the band.)
Next up is the bad guys (thus far):
Tumblr media
Michael Shannon as Vincent Marsconi, aka Vinnie, Finn Whitrock as Cal Anderson and Bill Skarsgård as Robert Forrest aka Ramsay. (But he has lighter hair as Ramsay.)
Last, but not least is Mouse's support group:
Tumblr media
Richard Schiff as Chuck Weiss, Christian Kane as Ed Spencer, and Jason George as Frank Bailey.
Tumblr media
Brianna Baker as Ada Jackson and AJ Cook as Lucy Graham.
Those are all of the major original characters. Might have one or two more crop up and I'll add them here when they appear.
Update #1!
Tumblr media
Meet Richard Madden as AJ Michaels aka the Asshole. Click here for the rundown post of the series if you want to check it out! (Or you can read it on ao3 if you prefer: click here!)
I hope you enjoyed this little tour through the OC cast! My ask box and inbox are always open if you want to say hi/scream about the shows/talk about fic!
Aurora Four is a name known by almost everyone on earth. Not because of their music, gods no. They were better than average singers and below average songwriters. False Gods is a story of Beatrix Jones, Nikita Grant, Stevie Dylan and Louis Knight, more famously known as Roseblood, Dollface, King and Jester, the elusive members of Aurora Four, rock band that intrigued the world by hiding their identities under their masks, shielding their true selves from the audience.
Two years before, Beatrix Jones had ruined the reputation of the Hectics, up and coming rockband she and her friends tried their best to put on the map. All their work went to waste after she got arrested for beating up a paparazzi, and getting away with it with her parents money. Desperate for fame, Stevie Dylan asks help from his father, millionare eager to help his son to reach his dreams.
With the new agency bought by Stevie's father, the group has a new name and a team, who are ready to help their find their new identity. They realize too late that their new team is more shady than they realize and the deal they made was more than some of them bargained for.
Eddie Munson x Plus size reader
If you want to read my other work you can find it HERE
Ok hear me out. Modern day Eddie Munson.
Warning: fluff , angst, sexual implications, and cursing. Not proof read and no word count
Summary: basically Eddies character from stranger things grown up. Eddie never died and he graduated. He now travels from music festival to music festival with his band. Its 2024 and Eddie meets a new girl. So I'm taking Eddie's character and putting him into the now-ish. I don't know whatever.
Part 1
🖤☠️🤘🎸
You were so nervous stand side stage watching the band that was performing. You always had stage fright, but the self talked you would have before any and all performances would help just a bit. Your hands were clammy and your heart raced a mile a minute. This was always so nerve wrecking. But you had to do it, for your brother. He was the lead singer of the band and he begged you to cover the spot that was now empty due to an illness. You haven't played much since you were in highschool. But to be fair the guitar felt really good when you practiced with your brother and his band. Growing up with musicians wanna be's and constant force to learn an instrument. You and your brother grew up learning the ins and out of what it took to run a band. It wasn't what you wanted to do, but your brother needed you. So you agreed to travel with them for the year.
This year you guys were traveling the Midwest. Now in Wisconsin at Rockfest. Not on the main stage but none the less on a stage. As you stood on the stage called The Top Of The Hill, you watched as a tall thin man with ridiculous frizzy hair strutting the stage. He looked as if he was pulled straight out of the 80s. The bands that preformed on these side stages were mostly cover bands that had a mix of originals in their set. This band mostly covered a lot of aged songs. You listened intently to see if any of the songs that Corroded Coffin played had copied one in your bands list. It was about the 8th song when your heart broke. The intro to One by Metallica filled your ears. Crap they were playing one of your songs.
" oh man we can't play that now." Your brother said making his way next to you.
You froze because you guys had a backup plan in case this happened. That being you. You really hated being behind the mic up front. You just liked playing the guitar and sing back up vocals just off to the side. Anything that kept you from the center of attention. Why you agreed to do it, you had no clue and now you were forced to. As the song came to an end the band played there last 2 songs. Originals you thought. As they finished they started breaking down. You stood looking the mic stand that was left.
" Good luck" the front man of Corroded Coffin said as he past you holding his guitar.
You didn't looked at him to register who actually said it. The nervousness had set in. Crap you're gonna have to sing...alone.
Finally ready to start you stood off to the right just behind your brother. Your knees were weak. And you were already sweating from the hot stage lights.
Opening song was This fire by Killswitch Engage. You were lead guitarist so it was super important that you didn't mess this up.
You sang along with the chorus while your brother screaming the rest. You closed your eyes the whole time. It was the only way you could do this. As your hand moved from fret to fret and strummed you started to feel comfortable.
The song came to an end and your brother started speaking to the audience.
" Thanks for coming out. If your new here we are The Passion Inside. Let's give a round of applause for my sister y/n. She's cover for us while our guitarists recuperates."
The crowd gave a halfhearted cheer. Which only brought back your doubt that you were actually good enough to be up there. You went to the area where the the drummer sat to get a drink of water. Turning back to your spot on the stage you caught a glimpse of the singer of Corroded Coffin watching you guys play.
You guys played a mixture of Killswitch Engage songs. Your brother absolutely loved them. He said they had it all. The vocals and the instruments, the perfect balance of screamo. The 8th song was coming up fast. You hand no idea how the crowd would act when you it was your turn.
And before you knew it, it was time.
"you guys having a good time?" Your brother said out to the crowd. Cheers filled the stage. "Awesome! Now I have a treat for you tonight. We don't normally due this but because of unseen circumstances I'm gonna have my sister do a song for you."
Your brother moved from the mic nudging you forwarded. You let out a long breath and went.
"Hope you enjoy it" you said to the crowd.
The intro played but the other band member with a guitar had to play it again since you weren't ready. Closing your eyes you started to sing.
🎵"Am I brave enough?
Am I strong enough?
To follow the desire
That burns from within
To push away my fear
To stand where I'm afraid
I am through with this
'Cause I am more than this
I promise to myself
Alone, and no one else
My flame is rising higher"🎵
Just before the chorus you started to play your guitar. Doing a cover of I Am The Fire by Halestorm.
🎵"I am the fire
I am burning brighter
Roaring like a storm
And I am the one
I've been waiting for
Screaming like a siren
Alive, and burning brighter
I am the fire"
You took a second to catch your breath before continuing.
"I've been sacrificed
My heart's been cauterized
Hanging on to hope
Shackled by the ghost
Of what I once believed
That I could never be
What's right in front of me
I am the fire"🎵
You finished the song with "I am the fire"
The amount of cheers you got was overwhelming. You smiled thanking the crowd. You went back to get another drink. Your throat hurt from screaming. But it was instantly relieved. You made your way back to your spot behind your brother. Looking over and seeing the the lanky guy from the band still there. This time he had a smirk across his face and his arms were crossed.
The set was finished and your brother thanked the crowd. And you guys broke down your instruments getting the stage ready for the next band. You didn't see they guy with frizz after.
"I'm gonna go find something to eat" you told your brother.
You left to one of the food stands. Settling for a foot long hot dog with the works and a diet coke. You had gained so much weight since traveling. You were already big but all the fair type food you consumed these past few months were wreaking havoc on your already tight clothing.
You had just taken the biggest bite of the hot dog when someone approached you. Your eyes widened at the sight of him.
"sup" he said
You gave a thin lip smile and nodded. It was all you could do with the mouth full of food.
" Great set up there....I'm Eddie Munson."
You chewed vigorously. And held up your finger to him so you could introduce yourself. You swallowed hard and wiped your mouth on the napkin that was around your food. You held out your hand to shake his.
" Sorry I was starving. I'm y/n l/n."
He took your hand and shook. But he held onto it a little longer than normal. Almost awkward long.
" I've seen your band preform before but I never saw you play with them." Eddie said
You studied him for a second. You need the time to adjust to the anxiety that had made it's way through you.
" Uh yeah I'm just here for the year." You responded
" Oh...Why's that?" He asked
" Uhh the guy who normally plays had some complications from Covid."
" Oh shit that sucks. I heard about what it could do if it got really bad."
" Yeah it was bad" you frowned
" Well you were crazy good. You definitely did Halestorm justice." Eddie grinned
" Uh thanks." You gave him a heart half smile " you guys were great too. Stuck in the 80s huh?"
Eddie chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. He seemed nervous. " Yeah as you can see I'm all about that." He twirled to show off his outfit.
" Yeah it looks like time stopped for you there. But hey I heard somewhere the 80s look is coming back" you smiled at him drinking him in.
" But did it ever really go out of style?" Eddie said finally stopped circling and set his gaze back to you.
He was honestly the most handsome man you have ever seen.
" no I guess not."
Eddie walked with you to the back of the stage to your tour van. You guys sat on a bench. You listened to Eddie talk about how great the 80s were. The music being the best part of it.
" You were definitely born in the wrong decade huh?" You said while finishing your hot dog.
Eddie laughed with a boyish grin. "Most definitely."
"Hey ready to go?" Your brother asked coming from the other end of the van.
"Yeah" you replied. But you didn't want to leave the conversation you were having with Eddie. As you stood up to toss your trash while Eddie and your brother exchange pleasantries.
Your brother got in the van as started it up as you went to say your goodbyes.
" Where you guys headin'?" Eddie sounded sad that you were leaving.
" uhh to motel for the night."
" Which one? The one in town?"
You nodded
" I'm staying there too. Uhh want to get a drink or something?"
" umm sorry I don't drink." You said nervously. Noticing Eddie's mood shift. You asked "Do you swim?"
" uh yeah."
" then maybe that 'something' can be that? The pool should still be open" you suggested.
Eddie perked up". "Yeah sure....meet you there in what? About 30 minutes."
You nodded and went to the van. Watching Eddie in the side mirror as your brother drove away.
...
Man you didn't bring a bathing suit. You fumbled around your suitcase looking for something resembling swim ware. But to no avail. You settled for a tank top and some short shorts. You looked at yourself in bathroom mirror. You hated the way you looked. The thickness of your arms. The stretch marks that covered your body. Your gut suffocating under the waistband of your shorts. You thighs full of cellulite. And scars that covered your arms from past trauma. You decide that you were going to the pool but you weren't gonna swim. Pulling on a baggy shirt and sweats you headed to the pool. Hoping beyond hope that Eddie wouldn't be actually swimming. It was the conversation you were after. He was very interesting to say the least. His natural charm had you right away.
Of course he was already swimming. There were a few people there with their kids but they were far off in the corner. You made your way towards the edge of the pool watching Eddie stroke toward you.
" I thought you wanted to swim." Eddie said
" Uh yeah. I did." You kicked of your flops and rolled your sweats up so you could put your feet in the pool. " just gonna wait a bit. I don't want to cramp up after eating." You said which wasn't entirely the truth. You were ashamed of your body and you didn't want the pretty man with chocolate brown eyes to see how repulsive you were under all these clothes.
Eddie gave you a smile while swimming close to the edge where you were sitting.
" so what do you do besides being a rockstar."
You hesitate for a moment. Only because you didn't want Eddie to think your were just some simple blue collar worker. While he was an up and coming musician. " I'm an e.m.t."
" Really? So if I drown right now.."
" uh yeah. I would save you" you smirked
" ahh my knight in shiny armor." Eddie joked
You nodded. More like the horse the shiny armored knight rode in on. You thought.
The conversation you had with Eddie was delightful. You started to realize that you were liking him more and more.
The pool was closing and you never did get in. You watched as Eddie emerged from the pool. Water falling off his bare tattooed chest, hair damped making it look much longer that originally thought. You saw a little bit of hair running down from his navel to his nether regions. His rings glisten from the water. He was beautifully attractive in the rugged sense. His hair was dark like his eyes and his skin had a soft tan. His crows feet around his eyes and his laugh lines around his mouth made him look like he live quite a life. You learned that it took him 3 years to graduate from high school. How he was such a sucker for D&D and music was his life. Also, how people bullied him for being "different". It was the same for you. The bullying part. Harsh words that made fun of your weight were imbedded in your brain. This causing your lack of confidence.
"Hey you ok?" Eddie concerned voice brought you attention back to the present.
"I uhh-yeah"
Eddie came close to you just about an arms length apart.
" you sure pretty lady?"
You met his eyes and gave him a halfhearted smile. "Yeah I'm good."
Eddie held quiet for a minute. You could feel the tension build. You didn't want to leave just yet. You wanted just a few more seconds with him before parting ways forever.
" Do you uhh want to come up?" Eddie asked then tugged at his bottom lip with his teeth.
" It's getting kinda late. I umm. I should probably get some sleep for tomorrow."
" You guys performing again tomorrow?" Eddie asked
"Yeah. We are filling in for a spot at the Dell's."
"Oh cool!" Eddie's excitement made you giggle. " We're gonna be there too. Maybe you can ride with me?"
"I don't-" you paused to look at the pool. For some stupid reason you were rejected his advances. You weren't naive or anything. You can tell when guys were into you. Even though the attraction felt mutual you weren't the type to just sleep around.
" you don't what? Like finishing sentences?" Eddies joke brought your eyes back to him.
"I don't think it's a good idea Eddie. I umm do one night stands."
" presumptuous are we?" Eddie retorted.
" Oh crap i-i thought..."
" No you thought right. I like you and sure sex is great and all but I'm not into meaning less sex either."
Eddie's confession eased your suspicion. He gave you a hug and you guys walked to the elevator and then proceeded to parting ways. Just as you got off on your floor you looked back at Eddie.
" Good night."
" ahh parting is such sweet sorrow." Eddie smirked. " Night. Don't let the bed bugs bite."
You smiled and went to your room.
...
Finally all set up ready for your set. You stood there waiting for your brother to signal so the band could open. It was just a minute after he nodded. You closed your eyes and started to play My Curse.
Your solo vocal part was coming up and you opened your eyes to find your mic. You did and then your eyes immediately found Eddie off to the side in the crowd. You had never seen such an amazing smile. You were so taken back by it you almost missed your part.
🎵"Still I want and still I ache
But still I wait to see you againnnnnnnn"🎵
You sung out until you had nothing left.
The next three song went back to back without a break. Finally on the 5th song your brother signaled to stop so he could speak to the audience.
" so looks like we have a change of plans." Your brother said. You went for something to drink. You looked at Eddie who was watching your brother.
"Since we had such a good time yesterday. I want to let my baby sister take the stage once again"
You averted your gaze from Eddie to your brother. You could feel Eddie's eyes on you. But you didn't look back. You were pissed. That was suppose to be a back up plan. What the hell was he thinking? He knows how much it takes for you to get up here in the first place. That son of-
"Get out there." Your brother said while pushing you to the front mic.
You ran your tongue over your top teeth. " You so owe me." You whispered and went to the mic to address the crowd
" Hey. Umm my butthead of a brother didn't tell me I was gonna do this. So if you can bare with me while I talk it over. Thank you." You were only gone long enough to to say the song and switch guitars. The part you were gonna play didn't need much. You walked back to the mic and took a deep breath to calm yourself. You looked over to catch Eddie's eye again. He was smiling waiting intently for you to start.
" Sing along if you know this one."
You started the intro playing a cover of Witches Burn. You shut your eyes as tightly as you could then began to play.
🎵"Welcome back to the days of old
Where the men are men and the women are sold
Unwilling sacrifice, I'll fuck you for a price
They kill 'em young so they never get old
They lock the doors and pull down the shades
After the dark they are always afraid
But I go out at night, I won't apologize
There's a price I'll pay
For this I'll burn
For this I'll burn
One thing I've learned, you'll get your turn
All witches burn
All witches burn
All witches burn"🎵
As the song ended you heard the crowd being louder than you've ever heard. Opening your eyes you scanned the crowd holding up your horns. You found Eddie again and he was doing the same thing grinning from ear to ear. You bit your lip to hold back the giddiness. You went back to your spot on stage and finished out the rest of the set list.
The final song was coming up. And this one was a hard one. Sure you knew that you could do it. It's just hurt your fingers so bad afterwards. But at least you can show off to Eddie.
The band paused for a minute to let you get ready. You switched to your Ibanez S series guitar. You popped your knuckles and stretched just a bit. This was gonna hurt.
You nodded that you were ready and stood next to your brother. You gave Eddie a side smile and started.
You closed your eyes like you always did. The first 40 seconds were honestly the hardest to do. You guys did a cover of Through The Fire And Flames.
After the first 40 second your eyes found Eddie. His jaw was dropped. Eye brows disappeared under his bangs with his hands were in his pockets. Yes you thought. You closed your eyes again.
It was about 3 minutes in when you felt the sudden pain in your fingers. You looked down and you had cut them open. You look over to the other guitarists so that he could take over so you could switch the guitar around. And when you could you went side stage. Eddie was right there. Holding a first aid kit. How the hell did he get there so fast?
"Shit you're bleeding alot" he said worriedly.
"It's ok just help me." You said while pulling your strap.
Eddie was about to set the guitar on the ground when you pulled his arm grabbing the strap.
" you're not going back out there are you?" Eddie said helping you with your guitar while you used your shirt to wipe away as much blood as you could. Eddie ripped off one of his sleeves to wrap around your fingers.
" I have to." Was all you said before returning to the stage to hit the solo. 5 minutes into the song you jump back in. You gave your brother a small smiled to let him know you were ok before returning your eyes to the guitar.
Using your right hand on the fretboard was extremely hard. But you kept up until the song was finished. You hurried off stage and your brother said goodbye to the audience. Eddie was still there waiting. You gave him a thin lip smile.
" That....was...so.....metal....Stupid...but hardcore." Eddie was astonished. He was completely smitten with you.
He helped you pull of your guitar.
"Y/n you okay?" Your brother finally joined you and Eddie." Sup man"
" Hey. You got a badass sister here bud." Eddie said.
" Yeah and stubborn as hell too." Your brother shoved you a little.
" I'm good. Just got to clean them up and will be good as new."
" Let's go find somewhere to sit and I'll help." Eddie said while handing your guitar to your brother and grabbed your uninjured hand leading you down the steps off the stage. You guys found a picnic table and sat across from each other.
Eddie flipped open the first aid kit and started pulling out items.
" I uhh I guess that I didn't build up enough calluses." Eddie didn't acknowledged your attempt to ease his concern." You remember that I'm an E.M.T right. I can do this myself."
Eddie didn't look up from the kit. " When was the last time you let someone take care of you?"
You sat up straight at his question. It was a deep one. And you were not at that point in your new found..... friendship? Yeah friendship.
" I uhh. It's been a while." You answered.
"can I asked you something?" Eddie finally looked at you.
His eyes bothered you to your core. In a good way. You nodded.
" Why the hell did you go back up there? Couldn't the other guy handle it?"
It could have been a bunch of things. Maybe it was the words 'Don't stop playing' that were drilled in your head when you were small, or it could be your obsessive need to finish things, oh for your brother. He really need this after his wife die. He's been putting everything into his music. So you did it for him.
" I uhhh yeah he could have. But like my brother said ...I'm stubborn."
"Well we are gonna have to fix that aren't we?"Eddie said while starting to rub your finges with alcohol wipes.
"We?"
Eddie just smirked.
You didn't wince once when Eddie cleaned and applied bandages. Eddie saying how metal you were. But to tell the truth. It was watching him work that was the distraction.
After all was said and done. You two sat there staring a few seconds.
"You gotta teach me how you did that."
" Teach you what?"
"How to play the other way. I don't know how you did it but holy fuck it was something."
You gave Eddie a cheeky smile. " Its way harder than it looks."
" Well I couldn't tell that it was difficult for you. You are crazy good. You should really consider doing this for real."
" Ah no. I uhh I have terrible stage fright."
Eddie let out a throaty laugh. " Are you kidding me? How can you get up there?"
" I -I close my eyes."
" ohhh that makes sense."
"Huh?" You were confused.
" You were already bleeding after like a minute. I wonder why the hell you didn't see it."
" That's why you were there so fast."
Eddie nodded
" oh I guess it was the adrenaline."
"Well maybe from now on you play with your eyes open."
You looked down at the table. You couldn't do that. Or you would never be able to get back up on stage.
"So uhh you gonna stay to watch us."
" I would like to but I'm kinda beat now." You really didn't want to go. You just wanted to be around him. He had a firm grip on you. With no signs of letting up.
Eddie face fell with your words. He didn't want you to leave. He wanted to spend as much time with you before you left.
"Hey give me your phone."
Eddie pulled his cell out from his back pocket handing it to you. You swiped it open and was surprised he didn't have a passcode. You punched in your number and saved it.
" Here now you can call or text me after. Maybe we can get something to eat while you tell me about your show."
Just like that. Almost at the snap of a finger Eddie had that smile that made your heart race. Making you feel like a giddy school girl.
"Yeah most definitely."
You bit your lip to hold back your nerves. You got up when the guys were done packing up. Eddie walked with you smiling and talking about how he has never seen someone do what you did. He opened the van door for you.
"M'lady"
" Such a gentleman"
Smiling had become a habit now that you met Eddie. It's been 24 hours and he has made you smile more in that time than anyone has in the 27 years of your life. That you could remember of course. You knew it was gonna hurt to probably never seeing Eddie again. And if anything was gonna happen. It had to happen tonight. He said he liked you. So maybe he wouldn't be put off by what's under these clothes. Then again. You don't do hook ups.
...
You got a text about 2 hours later. The lightsaber notification sound always made you jump like the little boy Anakin was about to kill. Eddie had decided to get a pizza. Which was fine with you. You loved pizza. You ran to the bathroom to take a quick shower and shave. Just in case. Your hand hurt but your adrenaline had kick in. You put on something comfort but yet something that showed off your asset's. (Basically boobs and butt) black leggings with black mesh line on either side of your thigh. And a long sleeve black shirt that was a medium cut neck line. That didn't reveal too much. But just enough to show the edge of your tattoo. You let your hair down shaking it. Making sure you weren't as frizzy as Eddie. His look was actually great. You didn't wear much makeup. So you just added a little mascara. As you waited for Eddie the silence was deafening. So you turned on the hotels TV and search for something. When you found Return of the King. You sat watching one of your favorite trilogies. About 15 minutes in there was a knock on the door. You got up and shook your hands. You were so nervous. Your hands became clammy and you had labored breathing. How can one guy make you feel like you were back in highschool? You open the door and Eddie was there. You couldn't explain how he looked stand there with that smile that made the skin around his eyes crease. You let him in and you guys sat on the floor eating. You listened to how his show went. Somewhere during the conversation Eddie brought your injured hand to his lips kissing your knuckles then rested it on his thigh while he continued.
"You did not?"
" No I totally did. Here look." Eddie said turning his back and lifting his shirt to show you a large bruise he got from crowd surfing.
" Jesus Eddie." Your hand ghosted over the purple and green bruise.
" No it was so fun. Totally worth it."
You shook your head at him.
" So what do you plan on doing after the year?"
" Well I would like to move. I want a house out somewhere not too big. Find a job in my field. What about you? What are your big plans for the future?" You asked Eddie.
" Well I plan on making it big. Then move out the country. Have a family"
" That sounds nice." You said while getting up to wash your hands. You wanted a family too. But it was hard when you had no one who was actually serious about that kind of stuff.
You came back out and Eddie was sitting on the bed. He cleaned up so fast. He patted the spot next to him for you to sit. It was not the best idea. So you didn't sit next to him, instead you grabbed the desk chair and rolled it so that it was right in front of him. You sat down and crossed your legs so that the top one barely touching the outside of his leg.
" You are stubborn."
You looked at him and tilted your head slightly. " Maybe. Or maybe I don't want you to get the wrong idea of me."
Eddie lifted a brow that got lost somewhere in his bangs. " I think your amazing." He leaned forward and put his hands on the arm rest of the chair. Pushing you just a little so he could put your legs between his then pulled you closer. Your foot was so close to his crotch that if you moved an inch you would have kicked him.
"you're quiet."
You looked at Eddie not knowing what to say. You wanted him but your moral compass was keeping you from doing anything you might regret later.
"Do you want me to go?"
"No." You response way to fast for your liking.
" what is it then?"
"it's just. I like you. But this scene. It's not me. I don't do this kind of stuff."
" What are we doing other than talking?"
" Well maybe not doing but definitely thinking about it."
Now Eddie grinned and that's when you had enough. You pushed your chair back and stood up moving away from him.
"See how is anyone able to keep their clothes on around you when you look like that?"
Eddie's grin got even bigger. All his beautiful wrinkles showing now. He knows exactly what he's doing. And it's not cool. You were getting irritated with the whole situation. But Eddie's face softened after he saw your frustration. He stood up and came close to you.
" You know I'm not here to sleep with you....I mean yes I like you...and I wouldn't reject you if you did want to. You're very beautiful. But I would never do anything that you wouldn't want to do."
"Seriously?! Could you possibly get anymore perfect?"
"I'm no where near being perfect." Eddie chuckled.
" well no one's perfect but you're pretty damn close."
There was a comfortable silence for a minute.
"Can we try something?" Eddie asked while stepping closer
You nodded.
" I just need to know...." He let out a sharp sigh. " I want to know what I'm feeling is right."
" uhh Ok?" You said taking a step closer to him.
" I want to kiss you." Eddie was now pressed against you. " I just gotta see. Is it ok if I do?"
"No funny business?"
Eddie shook his head. " Just one kiss." He lifted his hand and caressed your cheek with the back of his hand. His hands where rough but you liked it.
Your breath picked up as you pushed his hair behind his shoulder. " Just one."
Eddie smiled and grabbed your waist and cupped your cheek. You rested your hands on his hips. He leaned in and you closed your eyes. Just before your lips touch you felt a jolt of static electricity leave your lips to Eddies. The pain made Eddie gasp. You tried to pull away but he kept you firm in his arms.
" already taking my breath away." Eddie whispered.
The corners of your lips started making their way upwards but stopped when Eddies lips met yours. It was soft at first. Innocent. It felt like a friendly type of kiss. you pulled away unsatisfied and upset that it wasn't it. You pressed your lips together and hung your head. Eddie lifted your chin to look you in the eyes.
"No I'm sorry. I need to try that again."
This time was the complete opposite. He pulled you in, hand behind your head one on your love handle, grabbing it hard that you let out a small whimper into Eddie's mouth. Lips and teeth clashing. The slight hint of tongue that was just right for the first time. He sucked on your bottom lip for a second then return his mouth to yours. And as the kiss slowed and came to a stop. Both lips swollen and you two were breathing heavily. Eddie put his forehead on yours.
" yeah that's the one." His voice was thick and deep.
You swallowed. " Do you want to stay the night?"
Eddie nodded.
You took off your pants and Eddie striped down to his boxers. And got under the covers with you. You laid there facing each. Eddie caressed your hand until you fell asleep.
Oh man what was going to happen between you two.
Introducing...Posy Hart
Tumblr media
( mary elizabeth winstead, she/her, cis female ) i’m pretty sure i just ran into posy simmons AKA posy hart! you know them, they’re the 32 year old lead singer of cherry void that’s been here for 12 years. they can be pretty determined, but on the d.l., they’re also destructive. i have their ringtone set as celebrity skin by hole in my cell. next time you’re around manhattan, tell them to give me a call!
Tumblr media
D.O.B. May 27, 1972 (a gemini queen)
Born and raised in Springfield Massachussetts, Posy was the only and beloved child of a pretty middle class, fairly comfortable family. Summers she spent at her grandparents' home in Kentucky, a farm house bordering a vast apple orchard so adventure was always around the corner.
Academically Posy was strong, but the more she grew up the more she clashed with her disciplinarian mother, who had ideas for what she should do and what sort of career path she wanted Posy to go down. She had high aspirations for her only daughter: lawyer, politician, judge. Posy meanwhile, just wanted to write, or start a band, or do something creative.
She enrolled in The City College of New York, but as soon as her feet hit Manhattan pavement, she knew that wasn't where she was meant to be. Before her first year was out, she decided to put all those college fees to different uses and dropped out (much to the dismay of her parents).
A string of working minimum wage jobs followed while she figured out what she wanted to do, and with whom. Her roommate's brother was in a band, a very loud one that would play the Bowery on the weekends. Posy made up her mind in between crowd surfing and getting beer spilled all over her: she was going to start a fucking band.
Saving up for her first guitar was a slog, everything else was a breeze. She advertised in the local music papers for a drummer and a bassist, and before long, Cherry Void was born. A second guitarist would join a year later, once they started playing shows.
The two guy, two girl band was an instant hit, with Posy's penned songs about heartbreak, angst, and everything in between hitting the radio and making big waves. By 1994, they had released their debut album, Carry Yourself, and it was big in the rock and grunge/alt scene. Posy Hart (self styled, catchy last name) was on magazine covers, posters and newsstands.
By the mid 90's, she was one half of rock's most famous couple. She met Russell Vile of socially conscious, rap-metal band Rage Against the Machine Annihilator and the two had a torrid, on and off love affair.
Spur of the moment, they got married in Vegas by a Prince impersonator and the rest was history. They had a daughter, Gracie Jane, born in 1998.
As hated as she is loved, Posy is a controversial figure in rock. She says what's on her mind, has never been afraid to call out her male peers, and has often been labelled a bitch, difficult, or just plain psycho.
Of course, a growing substance abuse problem didn't help matters, or the fact she went on a drunken vitriol-filled tirade aimed at Britney Spears at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Then everything went sideways and hit a wall in 2001, when Cherry Vile's drummer Matt was found dead of an overdose. Posy's ever whirling world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll hit a wall, as did her marriage with Russell, the band, and everything else.
Character inspirations: Hole/Courtney Love, Jane Lane, Brody Dalle, Fleabag
CURRENTLY:
Cherry Void is on a much-needed hiatus, her and Russell are divorced (acrimoniously, but still coparenting), and Posy is just trying to make it to 2 weeks sober. Easier said than done, when everybody needs her all of the time. Really she's just trying to get Gracie to school on time.
possible connections: (aka just feel free to assume the following, if you want)
fans of cherry vile / fans of Posy
haters! (yes plsss)
plug/dealer
friends (bonus if they're connected to the music scene in any way)
unlikely friends
hookup/ONS
Gracie's nanny
exes (must discuss or plot beforehand!)
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT TASK 001: MEET THE FAMILY [REDUX]
Family Aesthetics: ‘you know you can tell us anything, right’, a completely filled ash tray, working terrible hours and coming home late at night, 90s grunge aesthetic, a teeny tiny apartment with no AC and a shitty water heating system, a fridge full of cheap knock off brands, been there done that, cheering extremely loud while the rest of the parents give them strange looks, terribly played out of tune guitars, ignored knowing looks, constant memes in the family group chat, lovingly giving each other shit, doing anything for their child and not understanding a word that comes out of his mouth, late night conversations over takeout.
PRE OLLIE
REN INOUE [ 48 yrs old ; mechanic ] [ fc yutaka takenouchi ]
Ren was born in Hiroshima Japan, and would be the only child his parents had. He lived in Japan for three years before his parents moved him and themselves to New York City, so he honestly doesn't remember much of it.
Like a lot of first gen kids from foreign families there was a lot of pressure put on Ren to become successful, and assimilate into a new country. Unfortunately for the Inoue's, Ren was an extremely rebellious person and that is what he spent most of his youth doing.
He created a band in High School with some of his friends called Drink the Kool Aid (he's the lead guitarist), and spent most of his time fucking around with them, fucking around with random people in bars, getting drunk, getting high, and partying. So, no, he did not graduate high school. He never saw the point in formal education.
When he was about 23 he met a girl named Faye and the two hit it off pretty fast. She was fun, she liked the same music as him, she thought his band was cool, the partied together literally all the time. They liked hanging out they were friends.
Until one day when he was around 27 Faye told him she was pregnant and thus Ollie was born.
FAYE INOUE [ 45 yrs old ; hostess & cashier ] [ fc christina ricci ]
Faye Bright was born in Hoboken New Jersey, the youngest child of the Bright family and the only daughter. Her mother left shortly after she was born leaving her and her three older brothers as her father's responsibility.
Her father was a drunk, and much much worse more often than not, and her older brothers weren't much better, so Faye often found herself anywhere but at home from the age of eight until she moved out on her own at the age of sixteen. She hasn't spoken to her brother's or her father since moving out.
She was mostly getting into trouble in those years. Going out and partying way too young. But who was going to fucking stop her?
It wasn't all fun and games, though. Faye often worked multiple jobs while finishing High School, supporting herself, because nobody was going to do it for her. Her life was rocky, and difficult, but she still managed to do it all on her own without needing anybody else.
When she was about 18 years old one night, wandering into some city pub playing some shitty punk band is the night she met Ren. He was fun, and interesting, and the two of them developed a fun little friendship.
She never planned for it to become more than that until she realized she was pregnant with his child, and everything changed for the both of them.
POST OLLIE
The first years of Ollie's life were rough for both him and his parents for many reasons. Ren, who at the time was also dealing with his father's death, wouldn't have known responsibility if you pasted the definition onto his forehead. He was great with Ollie but damn if he'd ever be able to take care of him. Faye on the other hand was almost the opposite, she had a job, she could buy food for the baby but … she was sorting through her own trauma and to say she was a bit cold towards the baby would be an understatement.
If it was not for Ren's mother, Yumiko, Ollie's Obaasan, he likely would have had a much much worse time during his early development. She set down an ultimatum, that unless they wanted her to take Ollie for herself, and move back to Japan they needed to shape up. It was rough for both of his parents. His father got clean (besides casual drinking and smoking pot), got his Equivalency, and started a job as a mechanic. Faye struggled a little more, but went to some free counseling at a shelter, and as time went on had an easier time building bonds with Ollie.
By the time Ollie was five his parents were making enough to move into an apartment of their own that was big enough to house all of them, not Ren's mother's one bedroom apartment they had been living in. And once Ollie was six Yumiko Inoue moved back to Japan feeling like his parents were up to the task of taking care of their child.
Ren and Faye were legally married pretty soon after that at a local courthouse, mainly for the benefits it would bring, rather than being in love with each other - but who needed to be in love to get married? If anything their relationship was much stronger than almost every single one of the married couples around them, they've shown that years and years over now. Ollie's never had a reason to complain about their relationship.
While the bonds between the Inoue family were quite good, it was still rough going. Ren and Faye were working more often than not and Ollie found himself home alone often. They did their best to make sure he wasn't left up to his own devices hen they could, and there were many free children's programs Ollie was stuck into. Everything from children's tumbling, to summer reading programs and everything in between. It was many of the people in charge of those programs that told Ren and Faye that Ollie was showing signs of being an extremely gifted child. He was learning at a much faster rate than any of his peers, had a reading level far beyond someone his age, and was frankly just very smart.
They didn't ever have the means to put Ollie into any advanced private schools, and any time someone offered any sort of opportunity for a scholarship Ollie outright refused. He just wanted to go to school with his friends, and all was well about it, really. He did eventually get tested officially, and it was determined his IQ was 169 (nice) which put him in the .03 percentile of the world's population.
His parents did what they could to insist Ollie take advantage of the skills he'd been given. He had a real opportunity to become something much better than either of them became. He could really do something to help all of them in the long run. They didn't mean to but there was a lot of pressure put on Ollie, and he didn't want to disappoint anybody. So, eventually Ollie agreed to advance his classes, and was put into High School a year ahead of his peers.
Ollie became a lot to handle for his parents through out his teenage years, despite how hard they tried. They fought all the time, Ollie would be gone for days at a time with only a few texts telling them (lying) about where he was, and the signs that Ollie was using drugs (to two people who also got into drug use when they were younger) were probably pretty obvious. But it was hard to really do anything about it. Ollie was still getting top grades in school, he was turning in all of his work, he was so skilled at fleecing the system that neither his parents, nor his school could really … do much unless he was the one who reached out. And he never did.
It was clear that Ollie was a troubled teenager, but his parents worked so hard and so often all they could really do was make it clear that if he ever wanted to talk they would listen. He never did.
So, despite the underlying worry that always lingered around their son, they were always extremely proud and supportive no matter what he was able to accomplish. He graduated the top of his class, and they were so excited for him. He got accepted into such a great school, Ogden, and was the first person in their family to go to college and they were so excited for him.
There were a lot of rough years for the family, but things have come full circle. Ollie's matured a little bit (shocking I know) and realizes his parents aren't actually out to get him, in fact if anything they've been probably a little too soft with him but he appreciates them. And the longer he's been away from home the more he's come to appreciate them (hard not to when he's surrounded with the terrible stories everyone else at Ogden has of their parents). Over all things with the Inoue family are going well. At least as far as Ollie is concerned. He sees no reason why his parents would still be worried about him, or anything. He's doing great.
OLLIE'S OPINON
First of all, write this down: his parents are really fucking cool. They're both still very 90s grunge type of people, and it's obvious to tell just by looking at either of them, or their aesthetic. It was fairly often that Ollie was brought to some shitty dive bar to help his dad and his dad's band set up for some set they were playing. They were never good, but it was always a lot of fun, and Ollie has a ton of fond memories hanging out with his mom and dad, eating some real good bar food. Most of his childhood was honestly a really good one, from everything he can remember. And even though things got tougher as he grew up (mostly thanks to him) it's extremely hard not to look at his relationship with his parents and see it positively. They fought a lot when Ollie was a teenager, Ollie did a lot of shitty and stupid things just to be a brat. But he is aware that despite how busy they were working they were doing it all for him, and they tried so much to be there for him. He's not stupid, he's not blind, he saw it all. He resented them for it at the time, but it makes him love them even more now.
All that said they put a massive amount of pressure on Ollie. They knew he was the only way they were all getting out of the hole they live in, he knew that too. They told him multiple times everything was his choice and they'd never make him do anything he didn't want to do but he saw the disappointment every time he turned down some opportunity that would have really done something for him. Eventually he gave in, and that is likely why he is where he is now, but it was never something he actually ever wanted. it was simply clear that… he had to make it. They made that clear. He couldn’t waste what he had- skill, potential, natural talent. They never were mean about anything. He never felt like if he screwed up that they wouldn’t love him. And that made it so much worse but he constantly feels like he’s fucking up. That he’s living on this precarious edge that any wrong move he makes will show all the ugly, messy, fucked up things he does, and feels, and this image that they have of him will be shattered. He’s terrified of that happening, but he feels like it’s only a matter of time.
SOME FUN FACTS
Due to dad and his grandma mostly handling his very early childhood he learned Japanese before he learned English, but he doesn't know how to write it. And he doesn't necessarily consider himself fluent, because beyond his grandma and dad the only real place he heard Japanese was in anime or movies. Which is a bit different than how people speak if he were to actually go to Japan and speak with people. But it was technically his first language.
No one in his family cooks. Ollie can bake, but cooking? Most meals in the Inoue family were sandwiches, mac & cheese, instant ramen, rice, and onigiri. Also anything you can microwave. That was basically it.
Ollie's parents always try very very hard to go to school functions when they can. It's not easy since Ogden is about 6 hours away from New York, but they really try hard to show up when they can to important things. Ollie doesn't hold it against them, and if they do miss something important they always go out to celebrate on their own together when they can.
The whole family is stoners, sorry. Yes, his parents know he smokes pot, and have said they know. But he's an adult now and can do what they want. The apartment has a ton of snacks in it because they're all stoners though.
Do they know he does harder drugs (yes). Do they know he has addiction problems (probably). Have they ever addressed it? No. Honestly one of the biggest problems with his parents is they're not really good at discipline, it's always been a thing. They probably don't know how to even begin addressing this sort of situation. It's strange. He’s kind of existing in this strange place where like… If they confront him about it he’ll die figuratively, if they DON’T … he might die literally. he really doesn't know what he wants to happen.
———
Battle of the Bands, a haven for popstars, rockstars, and metalheads alike. Bands of all ages and genres, some traveling from across the country, some from even outside the country. A competition that rewards bragging rights, cash, free studio time, or gigs somewhere big in the local town. But you weren’t in it for the bragging rights, maybe a little bit of them money, but mostly for fun. Which was why you were lucky it was held in the Indiana’s capital, Indianapolis. Almost an hour away from your band’s hometown, New Castle, Indiana. So all six of you packed up into your chevy van, almost too small for all of you, and headed over to Indianapolis.
Your band, Shooting Arrows, had met in high school, your sophomore year. You all bonded quickly, due to having band together, a couple classes together, and lunch. Your lead singer, Jenny. A cute blonde with blue eyes, a stereotypical theatre prodigy in all the musical plays, playing the main character. She was pretty, long and slender. She practically had all the boys in your shared grade wrapped around her fingers. Your drummer, Patty. She had graduated with you and Jenny. Brown, short, curly hair. She was sweet. No one would ever put together the dots that she was the drummer for both the high school band and your town’s local girl band at first sight. Your keyboardist, a boy named Chris. He was a junior when you met him, graduating a year before you. He was quiet, little nerdy glasses on his face. But he was friendly all the same. Long, slender fingers, perfect for playing piano. Guitarist number one, Penny. The one who taught you guitar. And the perfect metalhead, listening to Metallica, Iron Maiden, a bit of Kiss, and other bands alike. She was a senior when you met. She took you under her wing and practically melded you into who you are today. She was never not seen with her guitar. Guitarist number two, Charlotte. A sweet girl, on the shorter side. She loved playing melodies against you or Penny. She was a freshman when you met her. She had one more year of high school. She was also taught by Penny. She was just the sweetest thing, more on the introverted side. And then you, the bassist and middle child of the group. Quiet and talkative with the right people. You were more of a parallel play kind of person, having fun in the middle but not necessarily being a part of the fun. It’s like feeding off the vibes of your band. Being the middle child has its perks. But you’re at your loudest when practicing with the band, or at gigs at the local bar. A never ending smile on your face as your fingers plucked along on your bass. You occasionally swapped guitars with Penny, more so for surprise for the crowd. Often, this earned your band more tips that usual and erupting cheers from the crowd. Most of you guys, the ones who graduated high school, had their drivers licenses, but you were the one that drove everyone around, having the van and all. It was big enough to fit all six of you and equipment. And it was like a tiny, small than studio, apartment for you guys. The back area completed with a bench seat, sat against the side doors, that could fold out into a bed, the small kitchenette opposite of it. The cabinets and storage space offering to pack food, clothes, and the smaller of equipment in the van. Also with your tons and tons of blankets. And the furthest back, empty part of the van, laid a mattress on the floor, pressed up against the back doors. There’s where the comfortable spot in the van was, pillows and blankets crowding the floor. You all played rock paper scissors nightly on the road to see who two would sleep on the mattress.
So that’s what you’ve been doing during your few first nights of Battle of the Bands, parked out in the parking lot where competing bands parked. You guys didn’t have access to the hotel that held the competing bands, not that you knew it was a practically free stay and that the people who were in charge of Battle of the Bands were paying for the housing in that hotel as long as the bands needed it.
With the unknowing free housing, you’d been hauling your equipment from your van to the stage. And you’d done that a few minutes ago, middle of your performance. Your opponent gone before you. You stayed on bass, plucking and pressing the strings. And before you knew it, the performance came to an end. Bowing as the cheers erupted, you turned off and unplugged your equipment, hauling it back to your van. Once settled and changed into cooler clothes, thanks to the Indiana summer, you all head back into the crowd.
You spot the new band. You eyed the bass drum on the drum set, it read Corroded Coffin. Interesting name, you hadn’t heard of them before. You couldn’t help but watch their leader, a electric guitarist with frizzy hair, bouncing around his shoulders as he threw his arm into strumming his strings. His voice had a nice tone to it, soft for a heavy metal band. But the metal and his clear voice melded nicely. It’s almost like you were entranced by the boy, he’s so pretty. His soft features, fluffy hair, and sleeveless shirt to fight off the senseless heat. You could only hope that you’d run into each other by chance.
