1984 STRIKES AGAIN! And it's full of surprises. The year of 1984, for television, was awesome. So many of the new shows that came out were long-running, super-popular successes. Even the shows that didn't make it still leave an impression on the public today. I talk about all of it in this exciting, thrill-packed video. You'll also find out other TV events of 1984 (some of them are pretty wild) and huge celebrities that began their careers on television this year (i.e. Keanu Reeves). Come on in and have some fun! https://youtu.be/TsHj-VFfa6I

i've been wanting to commission someone to make a pfp for here, that uses the hat in my current one
cause rn it's fkn boring and beige and not very visually intrestin - and u can't even read the fkn text that makes it worth! (it's a pic of a yellow beige cap (the hat) w the text "ask me about my lobotomy" on it)
idea's to like make it pretty and faggy and me, and Also makes the text any at all readable lol.
but commissioning is hard! you gotta have like a fkn good proposal and have references, and know what you want and able to word that shit - and most often i just struggle w that.
but this time i have a concept (more than what i wrote) but like,,, i don't wanna be roughin it on an artist. i want to be a GOOD commissioner and until i got d girl't balls to do that i am gonna pass.

Sam Monroe with an Only Fans
This post contains NSFW headcanons, be warned
Tumblr media
Small A/n - You guys don’t understand. Now I have to make a series out of this. It wouldn’t be like an actual series series but I’m thinking multiple Drabbles with links to Twitter videos that I feel like he would post on his Only Fans ❤️
Tag List - @vixxensvoid @maevesversion @sockiess @stylesslytherinskywalker @myheadhurtscutely @yourenogoodforme @gallerygourmet @heartsforanakin @viper-0800 @helendeath @ysrjune
He has a Prince Albert piercing 1000%.
Absolutely LOVES the camera; constantly asking you if you want to be in a video with him but never pushing your boundaries. I can just imagine him coming into your shared living room while you’re binging a TV show, camera in hand with a mischievous grin on his face before saying something like, “Wanna help me out with work?”
Doesn’t really care for having his face in pictures or videos, but when he does, the cinematography is elite. He just KNOWS how to make masterpieces. Honestly the poses and camera work alone is so hot and appealing.
If you have certain kinks, he would make mental notes about them and incorporate them into his Only Fans
Has most definitely posted whimper audios on Twitter with a link to his Only Fans that has the visuals to the audio
Got his tongue pierced just so he could buy one of those vibrators meant for tongue piercings
I personally don’t have a foot fetish but bro has probably sucked on someone’s toes before😭
People in person (especially other guys) see him and assume he gets no bitches but in reality because of his Only Fans, SOOOOOO many girls know who he is
He definitely posts for the female gaze but like it’s actually what the girlies want, like he definitely has wrapped a pink ribbon around his cock before
His only fans is like a genuine masterpiece. He has an interest in photography for sure so his pictures always match his little emo punky aesthetic, it’s not just sex or masturbation for him
If he likes you, he definitely has had to re-record videos for his only fans because he’s accidentally moaned your name
He’s so fucking vocal it’s insane
Money wise, he’s actually financially stable because of how appealing his videos are. He most definitely isn’t the male gaze porn stuff.
Consent King for sure however he does have a CNC / Somno kink
Sam may be a sassy drug addicted emo asshole but he respects women so much. He does have a degradation kink and loves to make you go dumb, despite his respect for you
He does not even care about his family finding out, his motto is something like “They’ve been disappointed before.”
His favorite activity to do with you is “practicing” for his Only Fans, “But baby, I need to make sure the camera angles look good.” Or “Just one more time for me, this video has to be perfect.” When in reality it’s just his excuse so he can go round after round with you.
Has a designated filming room
Alright that’s all I can think of for the moment, I’m still sick so I’m sorry for no recent fics ;( I also have to deal with college and work stuff. I feel like I made him so soft in this headcanon list, I promise he’s still an angsty emo freak that will break you any chance he gets

Hi, I was wondering if you know what music John was a fan of in the late 70’s? I’m aware of him being excited about the B52’s, and I’m assuming he liked David Bowie and Elton John’s music in part because they were his friends in addition to obviously being talented. And I think I read once that Julian turned him onto Queen but tbh that may be me misremembering a fanfic lol I just wonder if there’s anything out there that describes what John’s music tastes was in those days or whether he preferred to stick with his favorite classics; early rock and roll, girl groups ect. Like what did he think about the punk scene in NY?? Or the close harmonies a la Fleetwood Mac that dominated the charts? Just things I think about haha.
Hi, thanks for the question. I know that I skipped through a book called John Lennon: 1980 playlist by Tim English before, that may be a good source for you. Here's some random info, that I remembered where to look up. I think Julian introducing John to Queen comes from the SPIN magazine interview in '75:
[Julian] likes Barry White and he likes Gilbert O’ Sullivan. He likes Queen, though I haven’t heard them yet. He turns me on to music. I call him and he says, “Have you heard Queen?” and I say “No, what is it?” I’ve heard of them. I’ve seen the guy … the one who looks like Hitler playing a piano … Sparks? I’ve seen Sparks on American TV. So I call him and say, “Have you seen Sparks? Hitler on the piano?” and he says, “No. They are alright. But have you seen Queen?” and I say “What’s Queen?” and then he tells me. His age group is hipper to music … at 11 I was aware of music, but not too much.
But then there is also an anecdote, I think by Tony Barrow, that John didn't want to sign Queen to Apple years earlier? However that may be a lie, or John just didn't remember.
Yoko gifted John a jukebox for his birthday in '78 and apparently John filled it with the old music he liked. Elliott Mintz says there was quite some Bing Crosby. And I remember John also putting some new song by Dolly Parton in there.
"Yoko gave him this old-fashioned jukebox and John stocked it with Bing Crosby records. People kind of expected him to have rock 'n' roll records in there, but it was almost totally Crosby stuff. There were 3 songs which John played over and over. I still remember them. They were Crosby with a jazz quartet from the 50's, I think. He would banter and talk in the songs and John thought that was just the end. The songs were Whispering, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter and Dream a Little Dream of Me. Yeah, those were the songs, I can still see John listening to them." - Elliott Mintz
“The one modern song I remember him listening to was ‘The Tide Is High’ by Blondie, which he played constantly. When I hear that song, I see my father, unshaven, his hair pulled back into a ponytail, dancing to and fro in a worn-out pair of denim shorts, with me at his feet, trying my best to coordinate tiny limbs.” - Sean Lennon
One night we were playing at Max's (Kansas City) in New York City, and I was waiting for everyone to leave the club so I could go back in and pick up my gear. We were sitting in the van waiting and John Lennon and Ian Hunter from Mott the Hoople came staggering out and looked over. John Lennon saw it was me and stuck his head in the window. He was kind of drunk and stuck his face right against mine and went 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah' because he recognized it (Devo's song Uncontrollable Urge) as being an updating of She Loves You. That was one of my most exciting moments ever. - Mark Mothersbaugh on John coming to a DEVO gig in '77
PB: John, what is your opinion of the newer waves? Lennon: I love all this punky stuff. It's pure. I'm not, however, crazy about the people that destroy themselves. Playboy interview, 1980
I like pop records. I like Olivia Newton-John singing "Magic" and Donna Summer whatever the hell she'll be singing. I like ELO singing "All over the World". I can dissect it and criticize it with any critic in the business...But without any thought I enjoy it! That's the kind of music I like to hear. - John
John Lennon raced into Yoko Ono’s home office in the mammoth old Dakota building with a copy of Donna Summer’s new single, “The Wanderer.” “Listen!” he shouted to us as he put the 45 on the record player. “She’s doing Elvis!” I didn’t know what he was talking about at first. The arrangement felt more like rock than the singer’s usual electro-disco approach, but the opening vocal sure sounded like Donna Summer to me. Midway through the song, however, her voice shifted into the playful, hiccuping style Elvis had used on so many of his early recordings. “See! See!” John shouted, pointing at the speakers. The record was John’s way of saying hello again after five years. [...] It was just weeks before his death in December of 1980, and his playing the Summer record was an endearing greeting -- and one that was typical of John. Of the hundreds of musicians I’ve met, John was among the most down-to-earth. Corn Flakes with John Lennon (And Other Tales From a Rock ‘n’ Roll Life) by Robert Hilburn
"I'm aware of ... Madness. "Don't do that. Do this." (As on the spoken word intro to "One Step Beyond".) I think that is the most original thing actually because it's so peculiar. ... Out of all that mob I think that was one of the most original sounds. Very good drumming, very good bass and all of that." Andy Peebles interview
And things I don't have quotes for right now: I remember Bob Gruen had given John some video compilation of punk bands, that John enjoyed watching. In one of the last interviews John said Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen was a great song. There are the albums John asked Fred Seaman to buy on his shopping lists. Some are printed in The John Lennon Letters (Though I'm not sure that means he liked them, but at least was interested in.) Lot's of Bob Dylan talk in the diaries and parodies. Many anecdotes about reggae bands. In the Double Fantasy studio recording John references quite some songs and artists, when he tells the musicians what they are aiming for in the songs.

A Hobie Thing To Do - Hobie Brown
notes - Here's the Hobie fic for that poll I did! Thank you everyone who voted and the Hobie lovers for asking for another fic! It feels a tad rushed story wise, but it's silly and I like the concept, so I hope you enjoy! Stay hydrated everyone! word count - 810

London was pretty boring. You were expecting more when you moved there, but honestly, it was a lot of rain and a lot of the people you were already used to. College was nice and everything and it wasn't like you were miserable, but you were definitely bored.
Until you met him. Hobie Brown. A punky, guitar playing, pierced up boy with a loud mouth and amazing hair.
You met him while goofing around with a band you played with occasionally. He kicked open the door with drinks in his hands and smiled when he saw you, setting down the drinks to shake your hand.
"You have amazing eyes." he told you with a wink.
You told him you liked his outfit and you hit it off from there, playing music together or eating junkfood in your dorm.
And not too long afterwards, the two of you started dating. He never called it dating, but never got mad when you did, so you definitely considered the two of you to be together in some romantic regard.
Plus, he would kiss you without hesitation and wrap his arm around you whenever someone seemed to be bothering you.
At the end of the day though, after weeks of dating, the two of you became inseparable and the only time you were really away from each other was when you were at school.
"Have you guys seen Hobie?" you asked the band as you walked in with sandwiches, handing one to everyone.
"No," said the drummer, Curtis, shoving the sandwich in his mouth. "I don't know if he's coming. He didn't say anything."
You just nodded and sat down, turning on the TV. Curtis' parents always had it on the news channel and it was playing something about Spiderman.
"Ugh, Spiderman," said the singer, Alley, rolling her eyes. "I hate that guy."
"Why?" you asked, turning to her. "He's a punk dude, I think he's so sick."
"Yeah, but he's just making excuses to break the law and claim he's saving the world. It's not very punk if you ask me,"
"That's so stupid, Alley."
"Maybe to you. I think it's pretty rational."
"I just think you don't know the guy," Hobie said, walking in and grabbing his own sandwich. "Though, maybe you're right."
"Hey, Hobie." you smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "Where were you?"
"Well, it's finally not gross out, so I figured I'd walk today. Sorry I'm a little late. Anyways, what's Spiderman up to?"
You watched the TV for a second and turned back to Hobie. "Apparently someone was trying to attack some bus downtown and he saved it."
Hobie just hummed in response and kept eating. He felt weird about not telling you that he was Spiderman, but at the same time, he thought it was obvious at this point and was trying to see how long it would take you.
"Who do you think's under that mask?" Curtis asked.
You just shrugged. "Probably some rockstar. Maybe someone we've seen live?"
You and the rest of the band became coming up with theories about Spiderman as Hobie kicked back his feet and watched himself save the bus in slow-mo for the fifteenth time with a stupid grin. You really weren't going to figure it out, were you?
Well, in that case, he thought it would be fun to tease you a bit.
You were on a walk in the rain, petting stray cats and shopping. Hobie had his Spiderman costume on and waited until you got into an alleyway before hanging upside down in front of you, shocking you a bit.
"Spiderman?" you said. "What's up?"
He smiled under the mask and stood in front of you before walking over to a wall, leaning against it. "What's up with you?" he asked.
"Just going home." you told him.
Hobie rolled his eyes under the mask. He didn't even change his voice, how did you not notice it was him yet?
"I heard you're in a band." he said.
You tilted your head. "How did you know that?"
"A friend of mine knows you."
"Really? Who?"
"His name's Hobie." He had to hold back laughter.
You thought for a minute and looked at him unamused. "Really, Hobie?"
He shot a web and hung back upside down in front of you before making sure no one was around to slide off his mask.
"How long have you been Spiderman?" you asked.
"How long has Spiderman been around?"
You rolled your eyes with a smile. "This is crazy."
"Unexpected?"
"No. This definitely feels like a Hobie thing to do."
"Why's that?" He smirked.
"Because of course, you of all people would be Spiderman somehow."
"I guess that is a Hobie thing to do, innit?"
You cupped his face and smiled before pressing your lips to his as he hung upside down.

Zawe Ashton on resilience, tackling complex roles and the fight for on-screen representation
The actress took to the stage at the 2023 Bazaar Summit
Tumblr media
When Zawe Ashton looks back at her career so far, she’s a little surprised: not at her own success, but at how she’s managed to navigate a notoriously tough industry so well. “When I talk about what I’ve been through, I think, why have I kept going?” the actress and writer told the audience at the 2023 Bazaar At Work Summit, at which she was a headline speaker. “I wonder if, to even become an actor, there needs to be something inside you that is already a little bit fractured. I think there’s something within me that somehow knows this level of crazy. When it gets really hard is when I feel my strongest or most determined.”
Tumblr media
Anyone who has watched and loved the cult favourite TV show Fresh Meat will be very thankful indeed that Ashton did keep going. Her character – the straight-talking, drug-taking, chain-smoking and anti-establishment Vod Nordstrom – was a highlight of Jesse Armstrong’s hit series. The popularity of the sitcom-style show (and particularly of Vod) made Ashton a household name and, to this day, it’s a role she’s proud of playing. “Vod was very left-field, free-thinking and probably, I would say, a queer character without that being made explicit,” she said. “Fresh Meat was 11 years ago now, but there’s still a whole new wave of people who come up to me – lots of young actresses, of every ethnicity – who say thank you to me for being smelly, unlikeable, strange and punky, because there aren’t a wealth of women who are doing that on screen.”
Tumblr media
Ashton clearly feels passionate about portraying real women in her work. In 2019, she published a fictionalised memoir, Character Breakdown, the title of which refers to the couple of lines an actor will receive with a script, which describe who the character is – for women, these mini biographies are often laughably simplistic and purely aesthetic. “They go from one extreme to another,” Ashton sighed with disbelief. “Where do we draw the line? If you’re not seeing women’s humanity, if you’re not seeing a full human life when you’re thinking about the ways in which you’re putting these descriptions together, then you’re not valuing women. And that’s a much bigger conversation than my industry.”
Tumblr media
Throughout her career, Ashton has fought to play complex roles and has always emphasised the importance of making multi-faceted women of every ethnicity visible on screen. When she took the role of Vod, “growing up as a young, biracial girl in Hackney,” she was “willing to do whatever it took to make that character as edgy and authentic as I felt she could be, so that it would invite anyone not seeing that kind of representation to feel really seen”. In 2022, Ashton scored a role in the period drama Mr Malcom’s List, which was a seminal moment for her – and one which she credits to the success of Bridgerton's diverse casting. “I had never seen any actor who looked like me invited to the table to perform [something like that],” she said. “I hadn’t known necessarily that I was hurting so much, until I saw that representation happen and the success of it take everyone by storm.”
Since then, Ashton has continued to push the envelope. This year, she played villain Dar-Benn – a role traditionally written as male – in The Marvels, opposite Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. “The process of learning stunts and fighting is probably one of the most empowering things I’ve done!” she laughed. “But when I thought the film was finished, I got pregnant and had my baby. And then they told me to come back and reshoot basically the whole movie. That has been the biggest journey for me: my physical wellness, my ability to endure, to mentally switch back into that place postpartum and come back to kick some ass again.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, a boundary-breaking superhero feels like Ashton’s best-suited role to date. ayoedebiri: immensely proud of my union and grateful to our union siblings who fought alongside us — every film and tv project made is a miraculous act of chaos, community and care 🖤 some pics from one in particular I’m so proud of and grateful to have been a part of. I definitely didn’t take enough photos but I’ve got so much love and gratitude for everyone who, in the midst of termite mating season and the brink of hurricane season, banded together to do something unbelievably dumb and fun. love love love our cast and crew and Emma and Rachel for even thinking of me for this and everyone who watched and shared while we couldn’t promote okay bye…my next post will be like one picture and one word, sorry

SHOT BY SHOT LET'S GO PT 1
Tumblr media
Okay so first we have the infamous ghost lamp. I absolutely love the design, it has such an otherworldly yet steam punky vibe, @vryfmi did a great post on the use of brutalist architecture on the show, which I encourage everyone to read!
Tumblr media
This seems to be Lucy travelling on the train to London after the incident with Jacobs'. It seems like she is either drawing (which would be fantastic, I hope we see artist! Lucy) or looking through newspapers for potential jobs.
Tumblr media
Shot from the teaser! Annie Ward plotline here we come!
Tumblr media
Lucy at Kings Cross arriving in London for the first time? I've noticed Lucy's colour in the series primarily, or almost exclusively, seems to be blue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a feeling this woman is the one talking at the start of the trailer: "It's terrible the world's come to this...I feel sorry for your generation." She appears to have noticed Lucy in agent gear, perhaps looking a little lost and forlorn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy reading the advertisement! Interesting design for the agency's name.
Tumblr media
If you need me, I'll be at 35 Portland Row. Honestly looks EXACTLY how I always pictured it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy and George's first interaction <3 <3 <3
Tumblr media
Looks like this is the sitting room? I love the cluttered nature of Portland Row; is that a TV I see in the background? What happened to "To think some people just watch TV" Lockwood?
Tumblr media
George my beloved
Tumblr media
Can't wait to see them break a gourd <3
Kudos to the props/design team, it's actually eerie how similar it looks to the way I always imagined!
Tumblr media
Judging by the background, specifically the columns, this looks to be Kensal Green, Lucy and Lockwood seem to be kicking down the door to the chapel in order to rescue George and they look like they are about to kick some serious ass as well!
Tumblr media
Lucy and Lockwood waiting to go into the Hope’s house? I remember as they were waiting, Lucy saw movement in the window and presumed the family to be home, only for the daughter to arrive straight after.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meeting Annie Ward. This seems to play out different from the book in which Lucy had to call gently out for Lockwood so as not to disturb her. They seem to instead find her together in this scene. Although we do have a shot of Lucy facing her alone.
Tumblr media
How I'm going to look tomorrow morning after staying up analysing the trailer
Tumblr media
Lucy and Lockwood in the Hope’s?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know what time it is? Arson time.
Tumblr media
Lucy and Lockwood putting the company into serious debt.
Tumblr media
The man, the myth, the legend. Montague Barnes looking mighty fine if I do say so myself. He looks extremely done with everyone, A+. He is with Kipps here, most likely investigating the Bone Mirror case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Couples who do arson together, stay together. I love how they are just standing around in that second shot, taking in just how terribly they've screwed everything up, the vibes are immaculate.
Tumblr media
Talented. Brilliant. Incredible. Amazing. Show stopping. Spectacular.
