Poppy for N2 au, it took me so long to make her design cuz I didn't really know what I wanted to do only because I feel like her design is pretty perfect.

But then I just thought about fun outfits to give her or outfits that I would find comfortable if I was wearing them and it all came together.

Poppy here is pretty much the same as here movie counterpart, as nothing really changes on her end of things other than having more insight on Branch through his brothers, and through Lief. Shes also a bit more understanding a bit earlier on because of it but it doesnt do much to change her own character arc I would say.

Bonus

Part of Poppys design was based off a design I had made for previous rulers of Troll Village/Tree

Namely Queen Protea who I designed as Poppys grandmother

Named after the Protea flower which part of her design is based off :D

In the context of this Au Protea was the one who conceptualized the tunnels while her son, King Peppy, was the one to follow through after her death

With the conclusion of the first story beat, I wanted to say a quick thank you to both my fellow mew obsessors in the notes/replies and other mew creators,, @loupy-mongoose , @lotusmew , @blues-sues , @mewtales , @askmythicalparty !! I was really blown outta the water by the interest and support as it’s been years since I’ve tackled a comic like this. Finally finished up some oc basefills!! These are surprisingly hard pfh, but fun !! In order this is Noctilu, Acacia, and General Hail! The latter two are v old ocs of mine that have been redesigned <3

Okay heres some bonus stuff!! I really liked how some of the lineart was done so here is the raw lineart for anyone interested + a speedpaint (?) of General Hail’s design process ! These guys were really fun to work on despite it taking me so long for no good reason ,,, heres some design notes on them all <3

Noctilu has a Lancier attached to the leather holster as he is the main fisher aboard the pirate ship he is part of

Noct’s line-wing patterns arent always visible, but some nightwing seers claim that the lines help them trace future timelines. Since Noct is a Nightwing Hybrid he wonders if those claims hold any truth

Acacia is a botanist out of the Scorpion Den ! Her bag is filled with journals, loose note paper, and writing supplies.

General Hail was hard as fuck to design guh . He is purple because I want him to be <3

Although he was part of the War of Sandwing Succession, he was born without his back leg and has had a prosthetic forever! Plus he was a very skilled fighter so most of his scars were inflicted by those he let harm him for whatever reason he had in the moment

Astrolabe I gave up on trying to redesign I’m so sorry bud. Hes Married to Noctilu (they have matching earring) and is the ships cartographer / navigator, so his quiver is actually filled with maps and scrolls. He keeps his actual astrolabe and sextant in his bags.

Updated my Inkling design a little, with some extra little bits of info.(Here’s a link the older design too, all the info still applies here lol)

Infodump under the cut!

These cephalopods communicate a lot through colour and shade changes, which they can fluctuate between in seconds. They also have blue bioluminescent spots (photophores) which they can flash.

All inkfish have beaks, which are supported by tremendously powerful muscles. The average inkfish can exert a bite force of around 1200 PSI, equivalent to a polar bear (and also strong enough to crush a human skull). They use it to crack the shells and/or bones of their prey. They also have these little chitinous rings in all of their suckers, woth the ones on their finger and toes having two. They are all retractable (don’t ask me how this works cause idk lol) and are really sharp! Their shape and size vary from person to person, with most being short enough to be completely out of sight when retracted. Some however have very long sucker-teeth, too long to retract. It varies a lot!

Inklings have very little cartilage and what they do have is very bendy, like the cartilage that makes up your ears, only a little firmer. It helps them stand up and gives their body a bit of shape!

With no bones, they’re extremely flexible and can bend in ways far beyond human capability. An inkling could tie one of their arms into a knot, or coil their entire torso so their chin touches their back. Pretty creepy, from a human perspective.

A lot of you guys in the replies had really good/funny things to say about the concept of a "subaru being technically under house arrest in the felt camp route" tags and I'd love to talk about it w you too but I feel kinda bad taking over ops post 😭

#someone did say that rein does the lap pillow emotional breakdown scene in this route though which is great 👍 but what i wanted to say was #well does the seemingly-inevitable-in-every-route reinbaru divorce still happen????#they're already good friends in the main route but we're proposing one here where they're far closer if not just due to proximity #but like just going through more shit together instead of reinhard being MIA most of the time bc him being around makes the group too strong #so #but actually it would be kinda funny if it happens in a similar way to his falling out with emilia in arc 3 but this time #he ends up staying at the roswaal estate instead of with the crusch camp #it'll let him get closer with the others before they're all attacked by the witch cult #and then stuff can go down similarly but differently.
