Smash or Pass
Fandom: Danny Phantom and Batfam Prompt: https://www.tumblr.com/help-i-need-a-cool-username/719653067055906816/ashboy-3-please-tag-me-whenever-you-post-it?source=share Characters: Danny, Sam, Tucker, Jason, Batfam Words: 1908 Summary: Danny refuses to sleep and gets stopped by a reporter. Not fully knowng what she aks when questioning him about Red Hood Danny answers with a simple Smash. Now if only his crush Jason Todd would pick up on the social cues.
“So what’s the game tonight?” Danny asked, looking at the screen of the video camera to see Tucker and Sam staring back at him.
“Are you sure Danny. Isn’t it like ten over there?” Sam asked, worry clearly on her face.
“It’s not a good night for sleep Sam. Please. You two both have the day off, right?” Danny asked.
“Yeah we do dude. So I was thinking Smash or pass?” Tucker threw the idea out there.
“Oh that’s a good one. What should we do it on?” Danny asked.
“Super smash bros? It has Smash in the name?” Tucker suggested.
“Then we should totally do Pokémon!” Sam had an evil smirk.
“Oh you are both so on!” Danny quickly agreed as Tucker quickly found a full list online of the Super Smash bro fighters, sharing his screen and making sure to record, if anything for future black mail reasons.
“Alright first up Mario,” Tucker announced, both his friends knowing that he would rather be the impartial party and narrator while they have their fun.
“Pass.” Danny and Sam voiced.
“Donkey Kong.”
“Pass,” Danny quickly said.
“Smash!” Sam was quick to say as the two looked at each other.
“You want to smash a giant monkey?” Danny questioned.
“First off he’s a gorilla, second you can’t tell me that he doesn’t fuck,” she quirked her eyebrow at him.
“Fair enough,” Danny yielded holding up his drink to take a sip in her honor.
“Dude that’s water,” Tucker rolled his eyes.
“Don’t’ remind me. Who’s next!”
“Link.”
“Smash” Tucker rolled his eyes at his two friends.
“Sometimes you two are so predictable. Samus.”
“Pass,” Sam waved her off.
“Smash. Let her fuck me up, in or out of that suit!”
“Dark Samus?”
“Same,” they both agreed, to keep their answers from last time.
“Yoshi.”
“Smash!” Sam yelled out, Danny thinking about it before he to agreed.
“Why am I friends with you two? Kirby?”
“Pass,” Sam said as Danny thought abot it. “Yeah pass. I feel like Kirby is to innocent. And dude who else would you be friends with. Hit me with the next one!”
“Fox and Falco.”
“Pass on Fox smash on Falco,” Sam decided. “Pass on both,” Danny shook his head.
“How could you smash one but not the other? Their the same thing?” Danny asked.
“First off their not. I feel like Falco is more bad ass. Second, I don’t want to hear that argument when we get to pokemon.”
“Fair enough.” Danny agreed.
“Speaking of Pokemon I’m skipping them in this list since that’s our next list,” Tucker skipped the image of pikachu. They both passed on Luigi, Ness, Captain Falcon, and jigglypuff.
“I would so smash princess peach, daisy, and Rosalina. Line them up!” Danny cheered.
“Really Peach? I would only smash Rosalina. She at least had a story line,” Sam rolled her eyes.
“Bowser?”
“Smash the fucking hell out of me!” Danny cheered.
“Okay I know I’m a monster fucker, but are you sure you’re not one?” Sam asked him.
“I have never actually thought about it,” Danny shrugged. “But you still didn’t answer the question?”
“Of course, I’d smash Bowser. Pass on Wario, Waluigi, and Dr. Mario,” Sam rolled her eyes, a smile on her lips.
“Yeah, I can agree with that statement,” Danny shook his head in understanding. “We are passing on the ice climbers?” Danny asked.
“Of course!” Danny agreed. “and you know I’m smashing Sheik and Zelda!”
“Smash Sheik pass on Zelda.”
“You are aware that their the same person right?” Tucker asked her.
“I’m very aware. Sheik could kill me and Zelda is a broing princess. I know what I want in a partner.”
“point taken,” Tucker stopped his fight as he ended up pushing next multip times. Danny and Sam both agreed to pass on the fire emblem charctrers along with young link while Smashing Ganon.
“Mr. Game and Watch.”
“Pass,” Sam said quickly.
“I’d smash. I feel like he could give me a fun time. You saw how he handles that hammer. If I’m lucky he’d use it to pound me,” Danny smiled, making both of his friends laugh.
“You know Danny I agree with that statement and that’s why I’d smash meta knight.”
“To much armor for me,” Danny said, making Tucker snort.
They passed on the Pit’s, kept their same opinion on Samus and landed on Snake.
“Extra Smash!” Danny and Sam agreed.
They kept playing, ending pretty quickly with mostly passes. Danny wanting to smash Bayonets,, Ridley, and King Roll. Sam was agreeing with that list adding Isabella, claiming that she must have some evil dark side to her. This led the group to the pokemon list.
“Do we want to start with Gen 1? Or just go into chaos?” Tucker asked, knowing his friends answers as he got up the list for Gen 9.
“I’m being honest if it’s got three evolutions, I’m most likely not going to smash the first evolution. The second and third are still up for grabs,” Danny set down his rules.
“I can agree with that. So we passing on Sprigatto, Quaxly, and Fuecoco,” Tucker mumbled to himself, making sure to skip thoses options.
“I’m Smashing Floragato, Meowscarda and crocalor from the starters,” Danny stated.
“Chicken,” Sam snorted. “I’ll take your grass started and your fire second evolution and raise you a Quaxwell.”
“I feel like it’s only going to drown into madness from here,” Tucker groaned, knowing it’s not even midnight where Danny is yet and there are nine generations of pokemon.
“How can you not Smash Spidops!” Danny asked frantically.
“Are you kidding? All it does is shot webs. If I wanted to fuck something that shots webs I would fuck spiderman,” Sam rolled her eyes.
“You. . .bring out an excellent point, but I’m not changing my answer!”
“Smashing Arbolliva!” Sam slammed her hand on the desk.
‘Damn girl! I am right here! If you don’t want me then just say it,” Tucker teased her as Danny laughed.
“Smash. Samsh. Smash Ceruledge,” Danny was cheering, Sam cheering with him.
“You know it makes sense that the two of you dated in. highschool, but I can clearly tell why you two were never going to work,” Tucker observed.
“And why is that?” Danny asked, quirking his eyebrow.
“You have to similar of taste.”
“No way in hell you’re actually fucking Grafaiai. Sam do you just have a thing for monkeys or something? “Danny asked.
“I’m not the one who’s ready to throw a party for Toedscruel. I thought we agreed no judging?” She glared.
“Oh know we are judging. I think I’m the one who’s judging the worst,” Tucker laughed.
“That doesn’t count. You only have eyes for Sam. I can’t even recombed a person looks hot and fuckable to you without you saying Sam’s better,” Danny groaned.
“Yep and it’s nice to see that my girlfriend does not have the same standards for me,” Tucker was looking towards her, a playful smile on his lips. He knows she loves him and that he’s not being serious.
“Ah shit guys! I gotta go and get ready for class!” Danny said after hours of playing the smash or pass game. They did eventually make it through all of the Pokémon, but now it was 7 am and Danny had to run to get to campus and stop at his favorite coffee shop.
“Make sure you stay awake dude. If you need to skip class I can write you a doctor’s note,” Tucker said.
“I’ll be fine. I just really don’t want to sleep right now. I should be better by tonight,” Danny said bye to his friends, changing into a different shirt, making sure to grab his jacket, wallet, and keys before leaving his small apartment.
Danny loved living in Gotham, but sometimes the hustle and bustle of the city can be chaotic and stressful, especially on the days when Danny could possibly be late for class, sleep deprived, yet to have his coffee and some report is stopping him to ask him question.
“Opinion of Red Hood?” was the only thing Danny heard the reported ask.
“Smash,” was all Danny could think of as he quickly walked into the coffee shop to get his black coffee with 12 extra expresso shots. Did is taste good? No. Did it wake him up? Absolutely.
Danny didn’t realize the absolute chaos he had caused till he was back home from his classes, Sam and Tucker spamming him with memes of what he did.
Seeing no other option but to go along with it. He found the original clip that tucker sent him a link to, tunrs out the news station put it up on twitter, and re retweeted it with just two words. “I’m right.”
Meanwhile on the other side of Gotham Dick is dying of laughter as he discovered the most hilarious news clip on the planet and proceeded to send it to every single person in his contacts and to every group chat that he’s in, just in case he didn’t have someone’s contact number saved.
He even found the clip being retweeted by the same guy who claims that he’s still right with someone else tagging it #plsdon’tkillhimmr.redhoodsir.
He was making fun of Jason for it especially because turns out his brother knows the guy in real life.
“Grayson what does he even mean when he says smash?” Damain asked as Tim and Dick were making fun of Jason at the cave.
“I have to agree with Damain. The video makes know sense,” Bruce agreed.
“I’m not explaning this,” Tim quickly grabbed his coffee and walked out of the batcave.
“No it!” Jason declared running upstairs, face fully red, Dick not far behind him.
“Why is it always me,” Duke groaned as Bruce wayne lifted a questioning eye brow up at him.
“Please don’t make me explain it,” Duke begged, but sadly when Bruce Wayne wants to know something he will know something.
“Keep making fun of me for this and I will no longer show up to family dinner,” Jason glared at his older brother.
“Aww. You know you can’t avoid Alfred forever,” Dick teased.
“Shit you’re right,” Jason groaned, knowing he was going to have to put up with his brother’s teasing no matter what.
Before anyone knew it Wednesday was upon them, which meant that Danny and Jason finished their only shared class and walked out together to get lunch.
“So did you see your famous news clip?” Jason asked, not able to look Danny in the eye.
“Yeah. I swear this I say the craziest shit when I’m sleep deprived. I stand by what I said though,” Danny got up from the table to grab his order.
“You’re not worried about Red Hood finding out or anything?” Jason asked, seeing a chaotic look within Danny’s eyes.
“Jason, I want nothing more than for Red Hood to come and find me. Hopefully then I’ll get my wish,” Danny smirked up at him, hoping his friend would catch on to the signs.
“Well one can always hope,” Jason gave an awkward laugh as Danny sighed.
Jason may be a bat, but Danny has a feeling that he’s as hopeless as he is when it comes to picking up on romantic cues. At this rate, it’s going to take a miracle to get Jason to realize that yes Danny has feelings for him.

I think that was everyone that wanted to be tagged. I personally feel like this could you a second chapter. If I ever do decide to do that then I would definitely add more Jason moments than just having him in here at the last moment.

best friends don’t look at each other the way we do
A low stakes, high reward, and self-indulgent Zelink fan fiction. Canon-compliant. Takes place between BOTW and TOTK.
Heavily inspired by my Zelink thoughts
I wanted to dig into the dirty, grimly reality of being the saviors of the world and not knowing how to be the savior of yourself. But you can find that safety in another person.
Fan fiction warnings: Canon-typical violence, eventual smut (in later chapters, characters are consenting adults), references to self-harm, eating-disorders, and a lot of angst. Each chapter will have chapter-specific warnings.
Chapter one: I used to tie your shoes
Song: We’ll never have sex by Leith Ross
Summary: Fresh off Hyrule Field, Link and Zelda have to face life after the Calamity, and come to terms with the long road to physical, emotional, and mental recovery.
Warnings: Vomiting, trauma, canon-typical violence, eating-sensitivity
Word count: 3.7k words
Author’s Note: I am so excited to share this. Please share and support this in anyway. I drew this art for the cover :) chapter begins after the page break. I love you guys. Also, these chapters won’t be heavily edited. Ignore any grammatical/spelling errors pls

Time. We never seem to have enough time. Green grass burns soft red embers into the field, a horse’s mane is rebraided at the nearest stable, and the stars shine as if nothing changed. Because it hadn’t, not really. The sun will still rise in the east and set in the west. The birds will still sing their songs at daybreak and the fireflies will still flicker at dusk. Nothing changed, but everything did. The air feels lighter, the sun feels warmer and yet Zelda’s fingers still shake as if she was in the snowy Hebra peaks.
The Princess by nature, is very gentle. She’s soft and patient at heart, but was placed under such strenuous situations all through her youth that caused her to often snap or lash out. But not now. Currently she is silent, stone-cold and confused. She was in shock. And Link could tell.
“Here.” He pulls out a baked apple from his pack, handing it to her. He has to get her attention twice before she finally takes it, their hands brushing for a moment. Her awareness returns to her gaze then, her bright-green eyes meeting his.
“I-I’m so sorry.” She sighs, her voice weak. “I’m just… so tired.” Link tries not to show his distress, but she notices his demeanor change as well. “How much further?” She says, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
“Probably another hour and a half. It’s just through those mountains.” He points.
“Dueling peaks. I remember.” She nods. “I remember everything.”
“Everything?” He asks as he starts to dig around a pack on the rear end of Epona, searching for his rito attire. It was starting to get dark, and she hadn’t stopped shaking since they left Castle Town almost three hours ago.
Zelda nods once.
Her silence speaks volumes.
He yanks out his snowquill armor, finally. “Do you remember anything from the last hundred years?” She doesn’t answer right away, she instead takes a smaller than small bite out of the apple. “Zel? Can I put this on you? You’re still shivering.” He asks, looking at her blank, traumatized stare. “It’s from the Rito, it’s soft as a cloud and will keep you warm for the rest of the way.”
“The Rito.” She sighs. “Revali…”
Link realizes that she hasn’t had any time to process what she just went through. She had spent the last one hundred years deeply focused, probably in a trance-like state. He places a hand on her cheek. “Look at me.” His voice is gentle and welcoming, not forcing her at all. She looks at him, their eyes locking. “Breathe with me.”
They take two deep, heavy breaths. They sync their inhales, exhaling together.
“It’s over. It’s all over, okay?” He reassures her. “It’s not coming back. It’s just us now, alright?”
She swallows, still emotionless. “You’ve changed.” She says.
“So have you.” Link smiles in an attempt to comfort her. “Can I put this shirt on you?” He asks again. She answers faster than she usually had, nodding twice this time. Link bunches up the excess fabric before pulling the head-opening over her hair. He then guides each one of her hands through the arm-holes. Link takes a moment to adjust the garb around her torso until it was probably positioned around her shaking body. She immediately sighs in relief.
“You talk more.” She mumbles, looking at him as he gently wraps his fingers around her long, golden hair and softly pulls it out of the shirt, knowing how much it irritates him when his hair is loose underneath a shirt.
He smiles again, “I do. Some people say I don’t shut up.” He tries to lighten the mood.
“Like who?”
“Impa.” He sighs.
Zelda’s eyes light up with that name. “Impa?”
He hums and nods. “We can go visit her when you’re feeling stronger, okay?”
“Okay…” Zelda looked down into her lap, the skirt of her goddess dress was barely white anymore. “I am going to get stronger, right?” She asks, her voice tender and broken.
Link’s heart sinks. Not because he’s worried she won’t, but rather because he feels responsible for putting her in this state.
“Of course.” He reassures. He believed it. He wanted to believe it.
“I’m… just so tired.” She repeats herself.
“I know, come on, let's get you a bed.” He then picks her up bridal style from the ground. They had stopped in the first place to get that rito armor for her. She rests her head against his chest as he lifts her onto Epona. She smells like burnt oil and exhaustion. He probably isn’t smelling any better.
They wouldn’t get to Hateno until noon at the earliest tomorrow, and traveling wasn’t doing anything for her recovery. He gets on Epona behind her, letting her weak body rest against his chest as they make their way to Dueling Peaks Stable. The road is quiet, so much quieter than it ever has been. The pair of lizalfos always swimming in the river aren’t there, and even the crickets suppress their chirps.
It’s post-apocalyptic. Literally. Link isn’t sure how to feel.
She throws up a few hundred feet from the stable. She gags and lurches over the side of the horse, somehow managing to keep it off of anyone. Not much comes out, she hasn’t eaten in over a century, but Link frowns when he realizes the apple probably triggered it. He silently curses himself out for causing her any form of distress. She dry heaves violently, and Link tries to hold her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. When she finishes, she holds her breath.
She can’t decide if she feels like she lost a bit of dignity or not. She holds back the tears that well in her eyes. Link breathes in to say something, but she raises her hand in protest. She would rather they act like it never happened. Neither of them say anything from there on, they just keep riding the final minute of the journey.
Everyone at the stable was asleep except for an attendant… who was also treading precariously between consciousness and a deep rest behind the counter.
“Excuse me?” Link asks to wake him up, hopping off of Epona after making sure Zelda would still be comfortable in his absence. She would never admit she wasn’t.
The man stirs awake with a jolt. He yawns, slightly startled, “So sorry, young man.” Link wouldn’t necessarily call himself young. He smirks softly.
“I’d like to board this horse till the morning, and we’d like one soft bed, please.” Link nods before setting down the required rupees. The man squints his eyes, taking the money in hand.
“Ah! It’s you! Link, was it?” He asks when Link turns his back to help Zelda down from the horse. “Jeez, you haven’t passed through here in at least six months! We were holding onto that old mare for you!” He gestures to their stables where a small gray spotted horse sleeps. Link’s first horse since he woke up from his century-long slumber. He only rode her in the beginning, when he was doing chores between Hateno, Kakariko and one time a longer trip to Zora’s Domain. But she’s old and weak, which is why she was easy to catch when Link was still regaining his strength. He stopped taking her out when he found Epona in the western part of Central Hyrule.
“Yeah… you guys can let her free.” He says as he sets Zelda down on the ground. She holds her cold hands together.
“Well uhh.. we tried. You see, after four months at a stable we let go of any forgotten pony’s, but she kept coming back.” He chuckled, his voice exhibiting a distinctive nasality.
“Here,” Link hands him a red rupee, not wanting to discuss an old horse any longer when he literally has the closest thing to a God in this world resting her head on his back. “Keep her for another month, I’ll come take care of her then. Okay?” Link asks. “Can I get that bed now?” Not impolite or forceful, he never was. He’s assertive but has a comforting cadence to his tone. For being such a talented swordsman, guard and easily the most deadly hylian in the entire kingdom, he was never rude or condescending. He was welcoming, and little kids often looked up at him with intimidation when they first met him, but it didn’t ever take long until they were chasing him with tree-branches while he fled and begged for mercy, letting them take him down with ease. The kids at the stables loved him, knew him by name, and would play as him in their silly pretend games.
The stable-man replies, “Of course! But you only asked for one bed, it’s not big enough to fit both of you.”
“I know, it’s for her not me.” Link then starts to guide her into the stable, where it’s much warmer and safer. Just because it’s quiet doesn’t mean it's safe. Hyrule is a dangerous place by nature, especially if you’re two century-old Gods being hunted for sport with the faces of children.
“You won’t sleep?” Zelda asks quietly behind him.
He doesn’t directly answer, and instead guides her to the bed. She’s weary, and he’s terrified of her not waking up. He wouldn’t be able to sleep even if he wanted to. He helps the Princess sit in the bed, and kneels before her to untie her sandals. When he touches the leather, he immediately gets transported into another memory.
It rips through him, just like the memories he had images of. Suddenly, he’s kneeling in the same position, but instead he was outside of the spring of courage. He looks up to see the clear sky, it’s sunset, and then his eyes meet Zeldas. Her face is rosy, and her eyes don’t have the blank stare they possess in the current time. He looks down at his fingers, tying the straps around her ankle.
“Really, you don’t have to do that.” She hums. He doesn’t respond. He never did back then. He finishes wrapping the leather around itself and then stands up. His face is emotionless. She looks at him, they’re about the same height. “I won’t be long this time.” She says. “I’m not expecting much anyways.” She sighs and then walks past him, but before she can get very far, he gently grabs onto her arm, holding her back. He doesn’t say anything but she can read his expression. He’s trying to tell her to have faith this time, just one more time.
Surely the Goddess would commune with her.
She shakes her head, and wades into the warm waters of the spring. Link turns to watch her, how her hair cascaded down her back, how her hands balled into fists. She turns around to look at him, their eyes meet. She smiles.
He comes back as fast as the scene played in his memory. He blinks a few times, and looks up at her. She doesn’t look any different, very little—if any—time seemed to pass. He doesn’t usually experience memories with someone, he wonders if she realized anything happened. Link didn’t even consider the fact he would keep receiving memories after the fact. His stomach turns, he feels like he’s lived two completely different lives and is forced to remember things from one that he doesn’t even relate to anymore. He doesn’t feel like the same person, the boy he was a hundred years ago is a complete stranger to him.
Link much preferred this life.
And that scares Zelda.
“I just remembered something.” He says. Zelda hums in response, a light-hearted noise that implies an inquiry. He elaborates, “I used to tie your sandals for you at the springs, didn’t I?” He asks.
Zelda smiles for the first time since they defeated Ganon. It’s a small pull of her lips, not showing any teeth but her eyes finally light back up. After she had asked if he remembered her on the field, she collapsed, not even aware of her own exhaustion until that moment. He ran to her aid, and ever since then she felt woozy, it only got worse the further from the castle they got.
“You did, yes.” She says. “I never asked you to, but since I was in the dress, you insisted.” She sighs. Link grunts in response. “It was very chivalrous.” Zelda adds.
They look at each other for a minute. Not saying anything. It was late, and two beds down there was a set of kid brothers sleeping. Link remembered them from their last visit. One of them wanted nothing to do with him, trying to act mature and ‘cool’. Link eventually won him over, though. They don’t speak out of fear of waking anyone. Zelda’s smile slowly fades away, and Link swallows thickly. They will never be the same.
He pulls her sandals off, her feet are filthy with century-old mud. He silently smiles about that. The closest thing to a Goddess in the entire world has dirty feet. How human of her.
Then, after pulling down the heavy rito-down blanket so she can slide in, he helps Zelda swing her legs into the bed. He pulls the blanket up to her neck, she lays on her side facing him. Her hands find their way up to her face, resting her cheek against them. Link pulls a short stool over to the bed, sitting on it and looking at her, bending at the waist.
“You’re not going to leave me, are you?” She asks in a timid, sleepy voice.
Link’s heart just about breaks when she asks. “Never.” He shakes his head. He takes his gloved hand and tucks a piece of her loose hair behind her pointed-ears. He lets his fingers linger a little bit longer than they should. “I will never ever leave you again.”
“Promise?” She asks, her eyes heavy with exhaustion.
“Promise.” He whispers, “Just as long as you promise to never leave me, okay?” He asks, ignoring the lump in this throat.
“Promise.” She says, taking her pinky finger and sticking it out for him. He wraps his finger with hers, which is far daintier and softer than he's ever been. She is a Princess, after all.
“Wake up in the morning, okay?” He whispers.
“Mhm.” She hums as her eyes slowly close. He tries to disconnect their pinky fingers, but she holds onto his. He leaves his hand in that position, letting her hold it until she falls fast asleep.
Link doesn’t move his hand until he’s certain it won’t wake her up from her much needed rest. He looks at her gentle, soft face. No one even understands what she just went through, no one ever will. He’s worried sick that she won’t make it through the night, and he keeps leaning his head down to listen to her breathing, or places a few fingers against her forehead to check her temperature.
He does his best to stay vigilant the entire night, not once even looking away from her. But just before the sun rises, his body suddenly catches up with his mind. He also just had the most demanding battle of his life. His muscles started to ache, and he developed a headache. He was just a boy, after all. More than anything, his sword arm was weak, and fire-hot pain shot up and down through it. He probably overused it fightin the calamity.
He keeps telling himself that he’s fine. He has to be fine, for Zelda. His arm isn’t that bad, what really hurts was his heart. Usually he’d just down a fairy tonic and maybe go to the hot springs if he was in the area but this pain was different. A twisting and contracting ache in his chest pulled and tugged on his lungs and pulse. It’s the same pain he felt when he remembered Mipha, and more specifically, the pain he felt when he dreamed about his family before the resurrection.
The dream that gave him the memories of a little sister with blonde hair like his collecting fireflies in her pockets. Her laugh echoing, the call of an older man, the image of a royal guards sword leaned up against the dinner table. The touch of his father’s hand as he rubs Link’s back to sleep.
Link’s first sword.
He wakes up like a fire, standing up and almost toppling over. He didn’t even realize he had fallen asleep. He could hear the soft tune of the penny whistle playing the standard stable theme, and the two little brothers played tag outside. He curses and looks down at Zelda.
Her bed is empty, and his heart completely stops. He starts breathing hard and heavy, his entire nervous system feels as though it’s pulled into stasis. How could he make such a foolish mistake? He swings his sword over his back, strapping his shield to his leathers and turns around in a wild-hunt to see the Princess sitting at the round stable table, drinking out of a mug and speaking gently with an older man.
Link takes a breath of relief, and approaches the two.
“Good Morning.” She smiles up at him. Her voice sounded much better, and her eyes finally had life back into them, but she still wasn’t herself. Her skin still looked sickly, her face hollowed out and eyes droopy. Any progress is good progress, Link decides then and there.
“I… didn’t mean to fall asleep.” Link sighs. “I’m so sorry. When did you wake up?”
“Oh not long ago, maybe twenty minutes? I didn’t want to disturb you-”
“You should have.” He interrupts her and her words get swallowed out of surprise. Link realizes that he snapped at her a little, and immediately becomes apologetic. “I’m sorry, again. I just…”
“You’re worried about me. I understand.” She takes his hand, her bones frail. In many ways, she physically looked worse today than last night. But at least she could hold a conversation. He nods. Zelda notices the tension, and changes the subject, “This kind gentleman was telling me about when you saved the stable from a horde of lizalfos about a year ago.”
Link looks over at the man, Giahzo. “Oh that was nothing, it was just two green lizalfos and a blue one who wandered too close to the stable.” Link hums. Their hands were still held together by Zelda.
“Don’t be so modest!” The old man chuckled, “Without you, it would have been a disaster! The number of monsters means nothing, especially when you don’t know how to fight!”
“That’s very kind of you.” Link smiles and then realizes he and Zeldas hands, he’s the one to pull it away. “What are you drinking?”
“I’m not sure…” Zelda begins and Link immediately snatches the mug from her hand. “Hey!”
“You can’t just drink something mysterious.” Link scolds.
“Oh it’s just a bit of Hateno Milk.” The man assures. Link looks at him, then Zelda, and then into the mug to see the creamy liquid. He brings it to his nose and smells it, and then takes a sip of it. Sure enough, it was just milk.
“I’m sorry, Giahzo.” He apologizes and places the mug back down. “I’m just on high alert.”
“Do not apologize to me, apologize to this lovely young lady you’ve graced us with.” The elderly man smiles with a chuckle, his eyes wrinkling up with his age. Zelda smiles, blushing a little, “Tell me, dear, where are you from? We don’t get many new faces at this stable these days.”
Zelda looks at him, her eyes sad. A hundred years ago every person in Hyrule knew her face. She looks at Link, unsure how to answer.
“She’s from the Outskirts stable.” Link covers for her. “Her family used to reside in Central Hyrule before the Calamity.”
“Yes.” Zelda immediately chirps, “We’re headed to Hateno for…”
“A honeymoon!?” Giahzo smiles brightly. Both Link and Zelda freeze in their tracks, and Link hopes he doesn’t look as embarrassed as he feels. “Hateno is a great Honeymoon destination! Although I’ve heard Lureline is even more splendid!” He clasps his hands together.
“Research.” Zelda clarifies, “so sorry to disappoint.” She chuckles politely, making a conscious effort not to look at Link. “I’m researching… population dynamics in Hyrule.” She makes something up that sounds completely believable.
“Of course.” Link then says, “I’m just escorting her there, we are total strangers.”
That breaks Zelda’s heart.
She knows he’s just trying to be extra careful, pushing her anonymity as much as possible. And in a way, it wasn’t a total lie. But it cut her like a knife.
“I see…” Giahzo doesn’t seem convinced. “Well, if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to stop by. Hopefully the monsters will start to die down.” He smiles and stands up, moving outside.
Zelda is still afraid to look at Link, and he’s a little bit shaken up by the entire interaction. He knows the Yiga are still out there, he knows that there are people who will try to take advantage of her for power or money. He has no reason to suspect anything from the old man, but he can’t help himself from being deliberate. He senses her tension and walks back to the bed to gather their things.
“You should have woken me up.” Link says as he picks up a satchel full of food and readjusts his gloves.
“I’m sorry.” Her voice was timid and tired. He turns around to see her, her green eyes looking up at him apologetically. “I didn’t know it would worry you so.” He approaches her.
“Of course it worries me.” He sighs. “I spent three years trying to get you out of that castle, I’m not gonna lose you on the first night.” He holds his hand out for her to trade, helping her up. She must not have rested as well as he thought, because as soon as she gets on her feet, she almost topples right over him. He catches her, holding her up before she collapses. “Woah there.” He mutters. “You alright?”
She nods, “Let’s just get to that house you told me about.”

Get laid : Reacher (series) x fem reader
Warning: straight up sex so younger audiences are advised to avoid reading it.
A/N: I hope it reaches the targeted audience
Summary: Having been together for three years, Zelda and Reacher navigates their way into their intimate moment in their relationship finding some pieces with each other.
Tumblr media
They go back to Reacher’s home after a festive food trip to the night market. YN loved her Korean street foods while Reacher enjoyed whichever looked nice to eat. “I love that kimbap, it tasted nice. You could have tried some.” Reacher pushes past the door with YN behind him, “I’m not a fan of Korean food. But you looked happy eating that and that’s fine with me.” Reacher says setting the plastic bag on the table with the shorts they thrifted. YN closes in behind Reacher and opts to remove his jacket. “Let me take this off you.” YN feels his toned muscles on his back stretching further below his lower back. Reacher turns his head to the side and YN meets his curious eyes. He turns around to face her crawling his hand to cup the side of her peach blushed cheek and brushes his thumb over it. YN's eyes makes their way to his then to his lips.
“If you step a little further then I won’t control myself. I’ll have you my way.”
Tension sinks between them and he is right. One move from either side could result to a deeper navigation of their bodies in unison.
“Are you going to lose control?”
Reacher leans in and sweeps off the pink of her lips. “Yes, but only if you want me to.”
YN gives in and makes her way to his lips capturing his lower lip before she slowly peppers kisses to his jaw and she slides her hand up his dark hair. Reacher pulls away, “We might want to take this upstairs, sweetheart.” YN nods in agreement. “Jump” she does and Reacher perfectly catches her in his hands and turns around to their bedroom.
Lights on and door locked. Reacher sets her on the mattress and he towers over. He removes the shirt he is on and unbuckles his belt and unbuttoning his jeans. “What do you want me to do now, sweetheart. You’re the master tonight. Tell me what you wish me to do but after this, I’ll do what I please.”
YN is bewildered and plainly stares at the work Reacher put on his body, the toned pecs, chiseled abdomen, and his muscular forearms. Her foot moves upward from his stomach to his pecs. “Strip for me.”
Reacher as told unzips his jeans and pushes them down to the floor along with his underwear. He grips his cock with his fist and languidly strokes it. YN sits up flaunting her ass and squeezes her breasts together.
“Have you received a blowjob before?” YN nonchalantly cock hitching his breath but not enough that she can’t hear him mumble a disagreement.
“What have you been doing for the last years before you met me?”
Reacher arches his eyebrow, “I’ve been in the military before I retired and found work for a famous actress.”
“Did you have any exes?” Zelda probes, stroking his cock.
“None, you are my first girlfriend and my first to fuck.”
“Tell me more.”
Reacher opens his mouth to speak but stops when she puts his cock inside her warm mouth pushing inches before she meets her fist. YN swipes her tongue on the sides of his cock and bobs her head after pushing further to the hilt before she coughs and pulls away.
“Fuck, sweetheart.”
YN pulls away catching her breath. Reacher grabs her jaw and meets her painful eyes, “Don’t force yourself on me, sweets.” He hushes her pain. She suddenly feels awkward in front of him and cannot hide the embarrassment hiding in her face.
“Where is my princess now?”
Now YN blushes, cheeks rising in a smile.
“There she is. My lovely YN. Now what else do you want me to do?”
YN faces his gleaming face tugging her heart.
“I want to sit on your face and wipe that smirk off you.”
Reacher chuckles but heeds her command. Resting his head on the pillow, he waits for his girlfriend. Removing every article that covers he body before she walks to his side and climbs on him. Reacher couldn’t help but land a harsh slap to her ass gripping it afterwards. His hands travel from her waist slowly inching downward hitching her breath when he meets a sensitive spot. Down, down near the apex between her thighs. She had never been so bare in front of a man. She could turn back now and draw the line but when his thumb glides over her pussy’s slit, he had her now. Reacher noticed the hesitation and took it away from her. She braces herself on his face and he welcomes her with a gentle swipe of his tongue underneath the folds. Reacher’s tongue touches her clit then sucks on the little nub grazing over. YN parts her folds for his finger to dig inside pushing inch by inch into her warm hole.
“Lick my clit, Reacher. Make me scream.” She commands pulling his hair. YN's breath shallows parting her mouth over the ragged sensation of his tongue on her sensitive clit. Her moans little by little fill the room and Reacher’s grip on her waist restricts further that will leave a mark. YN's high comes the more he worships her cunt riding his face. He is forgiving and merciful that even when her juices leave on his sides of his mouth . “Faster, Reacher, I’m close,” she exclaims as the high reaches full point and leaves like a second making her breathless on top.
Reacher sits up and closely inspects the ecstasy that etches her face. He lifts and turns her around on her knees towering her as his cock hangs on her lower back.
“I don’t think it can fit.” Reacher says chuckling after
“Please I need your cock, Reacher. I can handle it.” She expresses cheek already pressed to the mattress.
Without much delay, Reacher pulls a condom from his drawer and puts it on his cock.
“I might have a concussion.” She describes her position
“I never told you to do that haven’t I?” He pulls her to press her body on his, “These kinks can wait. Let us just savor this novel experience.”
Reacher lines the head in her pussy and slowly inserts in her warm gaping hole, “Fuck is this pussy so tight. You alright?”
YN braces on his arms breathing fast trying to accommodate the size. His cock reach spots she never could. “You can move now.” YN wonders what he said earlier.
Reacher pulls a slow pace.
“What did you mean what you said earlier?” She asks moaning after when he pushes it to the hilt.
“Oh that. Let’s just say I developed to love some kinks over the years that I’d like to pull off.”
“Like what?” She moans
“I want to warm someone in the morning and fuck her in front of the mirror just to watch that face contort. Want my girl riding my thigh and make her beg for my cock.” This time Reacher thrusts bullies his cock inside her cunt watching her back arch off his chest and tip her head behind. Reaching in front to rub her clit in circles feeling the high build. He reaches for her breasts and leans forward letting his hips do their thing.
“I’m fucking cumming!”
YN moans echo throughout when his head pricks a spot that has her creaming, Reacher following after. They stay for a moment like that. A dog and his bitch before Reacher pulls out and removes the heavy condom from his cock. YN's eyes start to be heavy as well. Reacher brushes a hand over her hair and removing the strays from her face.
“We both did well, sweetheart.

It gets talked about a lot but I still can't stop nerding out about Link's characterization in TotK. It's done through his many creative dialogue choices and his expressions of course, but it's also done so subtly through what he *doesn't* say. Notably, he doesn't talk about himself. And this is why nobody recognizes him unless they've already met him. Because he doesn't tell them when they've got the wrong impression of him.
The meme about Link having Tony Hawk syndrome is so real. People will look at him and straight up say, "Wow, you look exactly like Link!" without a hint of irony. Lookout Landing has a detailed picture of his face in their watchtower and the search party still doesn't recognize him. Penn works with Link for a long time and thinks he's unlucky that the Yiga keep "mistaking" him for the Hero (granted, Traysi asked him to deliberately keep quiet, but Penn still didn't put two and two together himself). I think the reason for this, aside from it being really, really funny, is that Link just doesn't talk about himself. He doesn't feel the need to.
Characterization isn't just about what we see a character doing, it's also about how other characters respond to them. Link is so unassuming and humble that he doesn't match people's expectations of what "Link" should be like. The three Gerudo ladies hanging out around Outskirt Stable are one of many perfect examples. Link stands in front of them carrying the Master Sword, but they expect the Hero to be taller than they are, with a giant glowing sword, so they don’t believe it's him. Obviously that's not the reality, but they don't know that. Link doesn't correct them, either. Again, he doesn't feel the need to.
This is also why many NPCs from BotW don't recognize or remember Link. To them, he was just a passerby that did them a good turn once 6+ years ago. Nobody's going to remember a person like that for so long after. They had no way of knowing he was the Hero, unless it came up for story quest reasons. When they hear stories about the Princess's Appointed Knight who woke up from his 100 year nap, defeated the Calamity, and rescued Zelda, they imagine someone larger than life. Then when they see what Link actually is like, they can't put two and two together.
This is true even during the Hyrule Restoration efforts. Link always follows behind Zelda as her shadow, which she notes in her diary, but the people in the stable investigation quests and in Hateno don't recognize him either, even though he went everywhere she did. Link is just that unassuming. He resigns himself to being a shadow, allowing Zelda to take the lead and do as she pleases but always staying nearby to support and protect her. He doesn't need to be recognizable to do his job. And we know from both BotW and now TotK that he's wholly devoted to her. He's content with this. Many people more eloquent than I have spent many paragraphs elaborating on this. I just wanted to focus on what it says about his character.
Link is humble and unassuming, so much so that nobody believes that he's the Hero unless they already know him. He's devoted to Zelda, so much so that he's willing to do anything to chase even a glimpse of her. He doesn't talk about himself or correct people who have the wrong impression of him. He doesn't need to do that to chase his Zelda. He is a person of great humility in spite of his station. I think that's so interesting and neat how the comedy of him being unrecognizable also tells us all this about him. It's also cool how this is only one aspect of him; all the dialogue choices and expressions he makes during cutscenes and actions out in the world show a whole other, lighter side to him that meshes with this. It's all so good. I am in love with it. It always kills me inside when people dismiss his characterization as being nonexistant or flat just because it's not spoonfed to them or when they say Link being unrecognizable is lazy writing instead of a deliberate choice. I am biting and gnawing and gnashing over him and his relationship to Zelda. I love them so much.

Lost (as in the nickname for my one Link) content, here we gooooo (even though he's not physically here). Vaati is a placeholder name since [evil purple guy] was getting really old.
...
The low chatter of her council members barely reached Zelda’s ears, the only thing stopping her from standing up and bolting out of the room being Impa’s steady presence at her side. She knew they needed to have this meeting, but the thought of discussing what to do about the... threat, threatened to make her ill.
“Silence please,” Impa said, giving her cane a rap on the floor. “We have business to attend to. I’m sure you all know why we’re here.”
Zelda took a slow breath in, steeling herself for the words about to come out of Impa’s mouth.
“The Hero has been corrupted.”
The room went into an uproar but Zelda barely heard it, biting her lip so hard it nearly drew blood. Link, her best knight, her best friend, and really only friend aside from Impa, had been twisted into little more than a puppet for the forces of darkness to use as they pleased.
She felt distantly like she was going to throw up.
“—doesn’t even have the blade! Are we certain the boy is the Hero?” one of her councilors boomed, “for all we know Vaati merely created a lookalike of our best knight to frighten us! Are we even certain the boy is still ali—“
“That’s quite enough,” Impa said sternly, then placed a gentle hand on Zelda’s shoulder. “We have firsthand reports of what happened, Sir Link is who has been corrupted.”
“But how do we even know if he is the Hero?” one of the women shouted, and Impa sighed.
“He would not have been corrupted if he were not,” she said gravely. “Sir Rowan’s account stated that Link was the only one who was explicitly targeted. Somehow Vaati knew of Link’s potential to pull the blade, and exploited it. We cannot count on the Hero to save us now.”
The room went suddenly quiet, the emotion of the room turned abruptly from uproar to fear. The council’s gazes turned to their princess, looking for direction on what to do, and Zelda didn’t know what to tell them.
Impa gave Zelda’s shoulder a comforting squeeze, and the princess swallowed down her emotions in order to speak.
“We will need to enact a plan to deal with this threat,” she said steadily, slowly breathing out. “We will strengthen our defenses, and alert our allies to the possible danger. There have been reports of increased monster activity, doubtless Vaati’s doing, so we will deal with them accordingly.”
“And what of the Hero?” one of her councilmen asked.
Zelda swallowed.
“We will send out a description of him, and a warning about what has happened,” she said calmly. “But if... if he’s found, we must aim for capture, not... nothing else, as of now. We don’t know exactly what the enemy has done to him, but perhaps... perhaps we can still save him.”
Her voice wavered minutely on the last sentence, and Impa shortly dismissed the meeting, ushering Zelda back to her rooms. The walk there was a blur, and soon enough she found herself standing by her desk, staring blankly out the window.
The bright rays of sunset shining on her face seemed unfair.
“Your highness?” Impa asked after a minute, and Zelda closed her eyes.
“It was my idea to send the knights to the woods,” she whispered. Impa didn't reply, and Zelda wrapped her arms around herself. “I thought my dream was pointing us there. That by acting first it would protect against the darkness. But all it did was lose us our best knights, take away our strongest rsources. And...”
Zelda’s voice cracked, and a tear fell down her cheek without her permission.
“We’ve lost Link,” she choked out. “I sent him there Impa, he trusted me, and I sent him to his destruction, he’s... I don’t even know if there’s a way to get him back.”
“Your highness, you cannot blame yourself,” Impa said in a voice equally gentle and firm. “This was out of your control.“
“But it if I hadn’t sent him he would still be here,” Zelda said, another tear falling down her cheek. “What if he can’t be saved, Impa? What kind of ruler am I to doom my kingdom to darkness, and send my best friend to his death?"
The last word was punctuated by a sob, and Impa was silent a moment, tapping a quiet finger along her cane.
“Zelda,” she said finally, and the princess sniffled, looking at her through her tears. “I believe there is a way we may yet be able to stop this darkness. As well as save Link.”
Hope faintly flickered in Zelda’s heart. “Truly?”
“Indeed. If I'm recalling the old legends correctly... well. We shall see,” she said thoughtfully, then turned to Zelda with a gentle look. “Come Princess, dry your tears. Link may yet be saved. But you must see clearly to do so.”
Zelda wiped her eyes, and Impa drew her into a short embrace, silence falling between them as Zelda calmed herself. Impa was right, she needed to calm down and think clearly.
Link needed her, and she couldn't help him if she was busy crying over him.
Zelda sighed, and Impa patted her cheek as she drew back. “Now. I need to gather some things so we can properly decide our course," she said, and gave Zelda a sad smile. "...Try and get some rest in the meantime, princess. It's been a long day for us all."
Zelda nodded, and Impa gave her a long look before finally stepping back, and leaving her quarters.
Zelda breathed out as the door closed behind her, and she looked around her room, before stepping out onto her balcony. A cool breeze greeted her, sending strands of blonde hair into her face, and Zelda looked up at the sky, her chest tightening as she remembered how Link had knelt here only days before, promising her he'd be careful.
The wind blew again, and Zelda's damp cheeks felt cold.
Link... stay strong, she quietly prayed, watching as the last of the sunlight disappeared from the sky. Hold on for me.
Hold on for us all.

HEYYYY THEREE, first of all blog on fire like actually I LOVE IT! Second idk if u takin request or not, if u arent ingnore this and srry! If u are, can i request a hispanic reader with anyone in the chain cause uhhh i havent seen at ALL a hispanic reader I HOPE U HAVE A GOOD DAYY OR NIGHTT, U ARE AMAZING DONT U FORGET THAT ❤
Hi nonnie! Thank you! Also, I guess I’m taking requests again now? I haven’t like formally put anything out, but @skyward-shade been sending me some good ideas, and I couldn’t resist writing them 😂
As for this one - yes! I can! I will preface though that I am not Hispanic, but have grown up around Latin culture/family, so I can do my best with what I know!
Characters: The Chain x GN! Hispanic Reader
A/N+Warnings: N/A, safe for everyone. Written by Mishwanders - pls do not repost.
If you speak Spanish (or where I’m from, Spanglish), I feel like the number one person who would love to learn would be Time. He’s a Link, he’s curious about all things, but in my mind, he loves to learn different languages. I feel like he’s can learn more easily orally versus actually trying to read something on paper. So if you ever get the chance - teach him a few words or phrases - if anything heel keep absorbing it until he’s able to hold a full on conversation with you in your language!
If you don’t speak Spanish - that’s okay too! Learning anything about your culture and your family traditions no matter how varied they may be would make any of them happy because it makes them feel closer you.
Do you have a favorite food?! Wild wants to know - he wants to make it for you! He’ll try his best with the ingredients he has in Hyrule, but if he ever gets the chance to meet your family, he’s definitely finding his way for he kitchen to watch whoever is cooking work their magic and learn (he will most likely be leaving with a new pack of spices in his bag if your family is anything like my in-laws and love to share lol). Honestly he will probably always be dragged that direction or to the grill during family gatherings/parties because he loves to cook so much lol.
Speaking of parties - YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME THAT TWILIGHT WOULD NOT BE THE BEST DANCE PARTNER (2nd would be Time, 3rd would be Warriors)! So much that I’m afraid the aunties might attempt to steal him away to keep the party going lol.
I also think Warriors and Sky would be the best ones to have apart of a quinceañera - respectful, could easily follow along with the traditions and would definitely ensure that nothing goes wrong for such a special day! Honestly I can see all of them becoming “the protection chain”, the security - they will be giving the princess Zelda treatment lol.
Did you grow up a bit more superstitious or with ghost stories? I can definitely see them following along if you tell them about it, even if its much different than what they’re used to (like the mal de ojo huevo treatment - someone please do that for Wild, he out of all of them needs that done). As for ghost stories, campfire will be the perfect place to tell them! But be warned, you might have a Link (or a few) in your bed roll - especially if you tell Wind about La Llorona and y’all are camping near a river. Poor guy will need some comfort (an maybe Hyrule too).
Grow up more religious/spiritual? I can definitely see them finding interest in it, no matter the deity/god/goddess/saint/revered figure you bring up - again, they want to know more about you and what you’ve grown up with, plus they have the goddesses, Hylia, Fierce Deity - they would all find it nice to learn about the ones you might have been associated with all of your life too! If you have a rosary or some other religious item you like to carry on your person that might get broken via fight with moblin or wear and tear - can definitely see Four making you a brand new one! He may even get Sky in on it to help him whittle some wooden pieces into it!
Did you grow up with traditional medicine/home remedies (even mixed with modern medicine)? Hyrule is your guy! If there’s something you need (especially if you get sick on the road) he’ll go get it/make it/find a Hylian equivalent of it! However, if you grew up with Vicks (aka Vapour according to my mil) for everything, I would be careful with him and that. I’m afraid the smell alone might knock him out the first time he opens a jar of that.
Have you told them about la chanlca? Time would be the biggest user of that - not against his brothers in arms - no, Ingo would be the victim of la chancla. Hey, that may even be the thing that keeps him away for good.
Music? Have a favorite song or play an instrument? Oooohhh buddy Legend and Time have an arsenal of those and would LOVE to hear you sing/play it! Also, since Time easily learns through listening, I can see him learning your favorite song to play/duet with you (maybe even sing you to sleep with it)!

Finding Her - final chapter
Tumblr media
Link makes notes, takes photos and keeps time on his quest across Hyrule, in the hopes of finding Zelda and staying sane until he does. [ Previous | First | AO3 ] with artwork by @nocturnalfandomartist at the end!
A photograph of Hyrule Castle seated on a rocky mesa of petrified Gloom. Where once malice and corruption rose high into the air, there is nothing but clear skies.
A photograph of the rolling meadows of Hyrule Field, with Lookout Landing approaching just over the next hill. Ahead of the camera walks a woman wearing traditional garb, her short golden hair still a little damp.
A photograph of a group of Sheikah, young and old, at the gates of Lookout Landing as they greet the golden-haired woman. Their arms are outstretched towards her, tears in their eyes.
A photograph of the five Sages of Hyrule, crowded around the woman as they draw her into a group embrace. The woman has her back to the camera as a young Gerudo vai hugs her tightly.
The same picture as above, only now the woman has turned to the photographer. She smiles, surrounded by her friends and allies. Despite the weariness on her face, she radiates warmth and contentment. She is finally home.

1. BATTLE IN THE SKIES: A SPECIAL LUCKY CLOVER GAZETTE REPORTby Penn of Rito Village (Guest Correspondent)
26th Satorember 104AC
The citizens of Hyrule were treated to an extraordinary sight yesterday after what appeared to be an enormous, demonic dragon emerged from the ruins of Hyrule Castle.
It was approximately midday when what is being dubbed the ‘Demon Dragon’ appeared. Eyewitness accounts state that a second entity, which some have called the ‘Light Dragon’, was also spotted and appeared to confront the Demon Dragon, however this has not been verified.
About an hour after the Demon Dragon appeared, there was a colossal explosion in the skies that caused several grassfires on Hyrule Field. These were swiftly contained by brave volunteers of the Zonai Survey Team who happened to be in the area. The Gazette can confirm there were no ground casualties.
Earlier this week, the swordsman Link and the Sages of Hyrule departed Lookout Landing to mount an assault on the Demon King Ganondorf. The outcome of that battle is not yet known, and investigations continue as to whether this mission has any links to the Demon Dragon.
More to come.
2. A letter, with a stamp that reads ‘Rito Courier Certified’
Link,
Forgive the chicken scratch, I don’t write a lot of letters.
I heard the Princess is back. Good for her. Knew she wouldn’t abandon us. Good job dealing with the Demon King too -- you saved all our tailfeathers there.
Tulin’s back with us now. Just writing to say thank you. He’s got a long way to go, but I can tell that hanging out with some responsible adults has put him on the right track. Though sometimes I wish he’d never learned about this Sage business. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard ‘Would a Sage have to do his chores, Dad?’ Ridiculous.
If either you or the Princess need a holiday, Rito Village welcomes you. I’d sure like to hear the story of the battle against Ganondorf from someone other than a cocky teenager. Let’s just hope that’s the last of Hyrule’s troubles for now. We all enjoy a good fight, now and then, but a broken wing never really heals if you know what I mean.
Fly well, Teba, Elder of Rito Village

Link! Zelda!
Look at this! Isn’t it great!? We got it back from the Lucky Clover Gazette just today. Took a bit of negotiating with Traysi to let us use her printers, but we got it done. I can’t believe Mine-Cart Land is gonna open for real — it’s all thanks to you or we’d all be Demon King lunch!
The other Sages said you’d gone back to Hateno to rest. They’ve all got fire ants in their pants wanting to get back to rebuilding, but I say we’ve all deserved a break. How many people can say they saved the world twice?
Anyway, let us know next time you’re in Eldin. Slergo and Offrak have been asking about you every day. Dinner’s on us!

Princes Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule 5 Wildflower Crossing, Hateno Village Necluda, Hyrule
The Reception Celebration of the Wedding of Their MajestiesKing Sidon and Queen Yona of the Zora
By command of the King, the Advisor Muzu is directed to invite
Princess Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule And Sir Link, Knight-Captain of the Hyrule Royal Guard
to be present at Zora’s Domain on the 3rd day of Naydrember, 104AC
Dear Princess Zelda,
I hope your recovery in Hateno with Sir Link has been restorative. As Winter draws closer and the days shorter, time of respite is often best spent with close companions.
My dear Sidon has told me all of what happened to you in the ancient past, and I must extend my deepest sympathies for the hardships you have endured. I cannot even begin to imagine them. I must also express my gratitude that Sidon has returned to us. While he is so humble as to pass all credit for the victory against the Demon King to Sir Link and his fellow Sages, to those in Zora’s Domain he is a hero.
It would give us great joy if you could join us in a month’s time for I do so wish to meet you. However, I will understand completely if you choose to remain in the quiet solace of home.
Sincerely, Queen Yona of Zora’s Domain
5. An informal letter, written in an assured hand
Zelda,
Did you also get an invite to Sidon and Yona’s wedding? Or second wedding? I’ve never even been to Zora’s Domain. You will have to tell me what to wear. Is it cold? Is there really water everywhere? Not that I have a problem with that.
So your sabbatical with Link has been just ‘good’? I get the sense you’re holding back details. If you don’t want to put anything in writing, you can call me using the Purah Pad. I could tell, Zelda, that when Link brought you to Lookout Landing after our battle with the Demon King, he couldn’t wait to whisk you away again. And what’s this about leaving Hateno next week? So soon!
I suppose I understand. You and I have our kingdoms to take care of. It is nothing less than our duty to do as much as we can. Heroines, I don’t think I’ve ever had a holiday. Even going to Lanayru is ‘official business’ as Chief of the Gerudo. But I will get to see you, and we can talk and laugh and drink all evening. Until then, sister.
(Or you can simply call me! I want to hear everything, Zelda. Even if he proposes. ESPECIALLY if he proposes).
Yours, Riju

Thank you for your latest report from Lookout Landing on the rebuilding efforts post-Upheaval. I trust that Purah isn’t working you too hard and that Josha is proving a very dedicated assistant. I know that Impa’s instruction was for you to rest as long as you need, however I disagree. On the contrary, I believe that engagement and activity is the best way to stay invigorated. It worked for me after all.
I’m pleased to report that the manufacture of a second Purah Pad is nearly complete. I’ll need to finish the work at my lab in Akkala, so will be returning there. You’re welcome to visit any time. I suggest doing so before Dincember. Once Winter starts in Akkala, it really settles in.
Speaking of Akkala, Granté visited last week and wishes to relay that the house Link purchased from the Hudson Construction Company is complete. He also said something about not knowing if you wanted plants or children’s toys in the house and that he ended up purchasing both. I suggest you liaise with him directly on that matter.
Regards, Robbie
7. A hastily scrawled note bearing the mark of the red Yiga eye
To the scoundrel who calls himself Link,
You have slighted us for the last time! Master Kohga will have his vengeance.
Already our forces gather weapons of ultimate death beyond your comprehension! Just last month, we debuted the HOVERDOOM MK.4!
Your day of reckoning approaches. As soon as we find his excellency , you will know true fear! So just let us know if you have seen him… if you want to live!!
Damn it, why am I even writing this note? I’ll just leave it in our hideout in Karusa Valley. Link will never get in there…
8. A carefully and neatly written note, on lined paper
Zelda, Hyrule’s adored Princess
I am dictating this note to Josha, as my construct arms cannot grasp a writing quill. I had intended to create an attachment to allow this, however it was not to be.
It is my request that you gather the Sages to Lookout Landing, where Link and I have built a new balloon ship. Link may no longer have my brother's arm to aid him, but his strength and endurance have proven invaluable in this endeavour. With this ship I intend to bring everyone to the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island. It will be my gift to them as Sages, and then I must depart.
There are words I must say before then that I fear will fail me if I try to convey them to you in person. However, you mean a great deal to me, so I have written them down instead.
Zelda, my dear friend. You had no obligation to aid my people, yet you sacrificed everything to do so. When I thought all was lost against the Demon King, your faith and hope for the future gave me the will to continue. It was your bravery in the face of annihilation and your vigilance over many millennia that turned the tides in our favour and allowed us to finally end the war. Hyrule will be forever in your debt and this act will be your legend.
I am merely grateful to have survived to your era, to have met your friends and allies (whose wedding feast I was honoured to attend), and to have seen that Hyrule will be under the care of those who are not only wise, but courageous and kind. One such Hyrulean sits at my side now, helping me write you this letter.
As a final note – during your absence, I saw firsthand just how deeply Link cares for you. When you described him to me, I pictured a brave Knight of course, but the Link I met was more than that. He overflowed with tenacity, even in his darkest moments, and while the past half-year has been difficult, I don’t think he ever truly gave up hope of seeing you again. You are to him as the sky to the stars and the ocean to the waves; whatever you dream of he will dedicate himself to its fruition. I will leave you content in the knowledge that together, you will guide Hyrule to new beginnings and greater futures.
We will be ready to travel to the Great Sky Island in three days. I hope you will join us on the journey.
— Mineru

Well, it is done. I have read every log, viewed every photo and listened to every recording on this Purah Pad. It is quite the account; the valiant quest of Link, a Knight of Hyrule, to awaken the Sages, defeat the Demon King, and reunite with his beloved Princess Zelda.
With me.
I scarcely know where to begin. I can hardly believe I am here at all. Yet, I am here, thanks to Link and the Sages, and Queen Sonia and King Rauru… All of them devoted themselves to Hyrule’s salvation, for which I will always be grateful. Link tells me I was of aid in the final battle, and while it is true that my power was able to restore the Master Sword, a blade is only as strong as its wielder.
So is this it then? Is this true peace, after all this time? I myself have been restless, falling from memory to memory. I cannot shake Rauru and Sonia from my mind. They were the ones who gave me my life back after all, or so Mineru theorised before she left us. It feels like only yesterday that I was dining with them all in their grand palace. I keep expecting to find Rauru in his hall talking with his constituents, or Sonia out in a garden tending the flowers, or Mineru lost in a book within her vast library. I wish we could be together, but I take solace that they can now rest. I will honour them by protecting the Kingdom that fate has passed to my care – it seems the least I can do.
Since that fateful day of the defeat of the Demon King, Link and I have attempted to rest. However, I believe it is in neither of our natures. We spent some time in Hateno, the first two days of which we did little more than sleep. During that time, Link clung to me day and night, protesting the second I was out of his grasp, as though to pin me to the earthly realms lest I float up into the sky again. Then, once it became clear I was back for good, neither of us could bear lazing about. The more he told me of his quest to find me, the more I wanted to see all of our friends and allies again. The more I told him of my journey in the past, the more he wanted to show me the Zonai relics he had found. We were back on the road within a week, and have just come from Lookout Landing to visit Akkala and see our new house.
In quiet moments I have been reading the extensive field notes that Link has kept on this Purah Pad. I cannot describe the feelings they provoke in me. I am constantly struck by the tremendous efforts of all those in Hyrule. Their headstrong Princess set another Calamity upon them, and never did they despair, only banding together to vanquish Ganondorf once and for all. And Link… he suffered so greatly when he learned what happened to me. I’ve felt compelled to apologise for it, and often. When I was lost in the past I ached to return home, but I accepted my sacrifice as necessary. I never thought what sacrifice really meant. To lose yourself is one thing; but to be lost to all those who love you? Such consequence didn't occur to me at the time.
He does love me, doesn't he? It overwhelms me to read his words, they tremble with it. Yet somehow I never knew. I was so foolish as to never even tell him myself. All that time together, before the Calamity, before the Upheaval, and we never said such simple words. We took for granted that which felt obvious but could be so much richer if confessed. We’ve remedied that now, many times over. And I do love him, more than anything, and I want the life he dreamed of for us. Certainly, we have already begun, first with the house in Akkala, and lately with much practice at the necessary steps towards a family of our own. (I do hope no one but Link ever reads this.)
To that point, this will be my only entry into this particular Purah Pad. It is no longer mine. Through every hardship and triumph of the past half year, this little device has been Link’s constant companion. So I entrust it to him now, to continue recording our story and the story of Hyrule. I pray it will be a good one, though perhaps with a little less excitement than what has occurred thus far.
By the Goddess’ Grace,
Zelda

A lot has happened. Plenty to write. This Purah Pad has given me a voice I didn’t know I had. Think I’ll start with an account of how we defeated the Demon King (or Demon Dragon) for that Lucky Clover Gazette column Penn mentioned…
But not now. Not for a long while.
Zelda’s here. We’re both here. It’s a sunny Autumn day and we have a home to go back to, one that’s up on a hill, overlooking the sea. I’ll make her dinner; a meat and rice bowl maybe, with ginger and Hyrule herb? Then tomorrow we’re back on the road – the whole Kingdom is ours to explore. I’m up for anything – somewhere new to find, someone new to meet, a new puzzle, a new enemy, a new fight. I can face it all, face anything, with her or without. But it doesn’t matter, not right now. She's here, in my arms, watching me type this. Better not write too long. Fate gave us back the time we nearly lost. I’m going to make the most of it.
Until next you hear from me,
Link

CW for mild descriptions of injury
——————————-
Another traitor attack.
The news sets Zelda’s blood boiling. It isn’t an unusual occurrence, at least not lately, but it is an infuriating one nonetheless. To think that the people of Hyrule — her people — would turn on their captain in such a way is incomprehensible to her.
He is the man protecting you, she inwardly berates them as she walks across the camp. It takes every royal bone in her body not to storm toward the medical tent. He is the man ensuring your kingdom does not fall into ruin beneath the hands of a maniac. Use your strength to attack her, to defeat her. Not to tear him apart.
But the traitors are not before her. They do not hear. They are undoubtedly miles away by now, running from the soldiers she had sent after them.
She breathes in a deep, steadying breath. The troops she had spared for that task are loyal and strong. She can only hope that that is enough to bring about some small justice. Perhaps, if the traitors are brought to pay for their crimes, others will be less hasty toward such acts of violence going forward.
But that is a thought for the future. Right now, at this moment, the captain is her priority.
The medical tent is before her. She pushes aside the flap.
The medics stand at attention as soon as she enters, dipping into low bows and straightening stiffly. She waves them aside.
“Give us a moment, if you please.”
“Of course, Your Majesty.”
Dutifully, they slip from the tent and Zelda turns her attention to searching for the person she came to see.
Her eyes find him easily even in the soothingly dim lighting. He lies on a bed mat in the center of the large tent, shirtless, bandages criss-crossing his torso. His face is pale, and he is holding what appears to be a small bag of ice to his swollen eye. But when he sees her he grins.
“Hi there, princess.”
“Hello, captain.”
She kneels beside the mat, pointedly ignoring the pain in her chest at the sight of him. His state is even worse up close. Her captain should not look like this — as though rising alone will be too much. Even his eyes, normally so vibrant and bright, are glossy with pain and exhaustion.
“Please tell me you didn’t spare a moment from your busy schedule to check on me,” he murmurs and though he is still smiling, she knows that the statement is a serious one.
“Why should I not? You are the captain of the army and you are injured. That is an important matter to be sure.”
“An important matter, huh?” He shifts, then groans. “Don’t worry over me, Your Highness. I’m alright. Just wasn’t expecting to get jumped while walking through Castle Town in broad daylight.”
Zelda is certain that her blood has begun to boil again.
“We are alone,” she says, moving to rearrange the blankets more comfortably over him. “You can lay aside formalities. To you, I am just Zelda.”
Gently, she moves his hand away from the ice and removes it, inspecting the swollen skin beneath. His eye is completely shut. The wound is no doubt painful. Just like all of the others.
Her fingers brush his cheek as she removes her hand. His breath hitches audibly.
“And to you, ” he murmurs, eye never leaving hers, “I am just Link.”
The slightest smile lifts her lips. “Well, Link, I believe you should know that we will be apprehending the traitors soon. I sent my best men after them.”
Instantly, Link’s expression closes off.
“You didn’t have to do that, Zelda. We need all of our men to give us a fighting chance against Cia.”
“Our men need their leader to give them a fighting chance,” she retorts. “And those who tried to take your life almost deprived them of that.”
She pauses, head bowed.
“And nearly deprived me of a friend.”
Link blinks. He opens his mouth to speak, but Zelda plows on.
“I will not lose you, Link.” She raises her head, fire in her eyes. “This great evil that we fight seeks to tear us all apart. It will succeed if we allow it. So, we must protect one another, no matter the cost. Otherwise, we will never win this war. And — ” She leans forward. “— I refuse to emerge victorious at the cost of your life or your freedom and happiness.”
Link is quiet for a long moment, gazing at her with emotions surging and waning across his ashen face. Then, slowly, he reaches out. Trembling fingers entwine in hers. She clasps her hands around them.
“I can’t lose you either,” he whispers and she swears there are the beginnings of tears amidst that crystal blue. “I won’t.”
He swallows, a slight grin making its way onto his lips. “I’m gonna win this war for you, Zel, I promise. I won’t let Cia destroy our home, or anyone else’s.”
“I know.” She squeezes his hand. “I know, Link. I only ask that you do not destroy yourself while doing so.”
“I’ll do my best.” He smirks. “You and Mask would team up and murder me again me if I got myself killed.”
“Indeed, we would.”
As we should.
“You should sleep now,” she says, gently. “You need your rest.”
As if in response to her words, he yawns. Zelda chuckles.
“I can see that you are as exhausted as I suspected. I will leave you in peace.”
She starts to rise, but his grip on her hand suddenly tightens. A pleading look makes its way onto his face. It is almost out of place upon a visage usually occupied by steadfast determination and infallible confidence. But even her captain is a human. Zelda knows that better than most. And no matter how he tries to hide it, this newest glimpse into his people’s sentiments about him has shaken him.
“Could you…can you please…” His cheeks flush and abruptly, he lets go. Just like that, his face is a mask, once more. “I apologize, princess. Thank you for coming to see me.”
Zelda remains motionless for a few short moments, weighing her options. Then, she makes her decision.
“On second thought, given your injuries, I believe it would be best if I stayed a little while longer.” She settles back down by his side, a small smile on his face. “At least until Mask and Toon arrive.”
It is muted, but she swears something bright enters Link’s gaze before he looks away. A flush is still on his cheeks, an almost embarrassed smile on his face.
“Are you certain? You don’t have to. Truly, I’ll be alright.”
“One can never be too cautious, captain.” Zelda’s smile widens. “After all, did I not just say that we must protect one another?”
Link grins. “Indeed, you did.” He sighs and lets his eyes slip closed. “And you’re right. That’s the only way we’re gonna make it through this.”
“Yes,” Zelda murmurs as his breathing levels out, expression going slack. He looks so vulnerable this way. So human. So much more than merely a hero.
Cia would never understand the complexity of the person she seeks to claim.
He shifts and his bangs drift into his face. Ever so gently, she brushes them aside.
It is true. The only way we will succeed is by staying together.
Link turns into her touch and she smiles, something warm spreading in her chest.
And perhaps, that will not be so hard.

Can I request Matt with a cosplayer s/o? I can totally see them doing cosplay couples such as Link and Zelda, David and Lucy, Zhongli and Tartaglia, Jean and Lisa... And please could It be fluff (and maybe something spicy If you want)? Thank you!! 🩷
PLZ IM SO WEAK FOR THIS REQUEST OML !!! Thank you for this 🙏🏻 also sorrrryyyyy this took me literally forever to get to. ENJOY~
Note: FUCK IT!!!! TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY IDCCCC
Cosplay Couple 🧡
Tumblr media
This dweeb would for sure be the one to bring all the ideas to you. I could see him running up to you, practically shaking from excitement as he takes a deep breath then tells you his thoughts.
“Link and Zelda, hm? That sounds fun but Link is canonically shorter than Zelda sooo…”
If you’re shorter than him, he’s immediately like “HELL YEAH!!! ILL BE THE PRINCESS. IM GONNA WEAR A DRESS!”
If you’re taller than him, he immediately gets flirty. “Oooh~ I can’t wait to see you dressed up like a princess. You’re gonna be so freaking adorbs.”
Honestly he gives zero fucks about gender roles and stuff like that. If he wants to dress as a female character, he will. And he won’t do some gender bent version of it, he’s going full out girly girl.
But he likes dressing as male and other gendered characters too. He just likes to cosplay his fav characters and sometimes his favs are girls. 🤷🏻 whatevs
Will absolutely take you to comicon or any other fun convention. He’d be running around like a kid in a candy store with $100.
Might even get too excited. Like running into people, tripping and falling type excited. You may have to hold his hand or put him on one of those money backpack leash things for kids lmao
Will also beg you like a million times to take pics of him with any cosplayers that he thinks are really cool and well done.
Fucking cutie dork is like ✌🏻😃 in every pic
Also asks several different people at different times throughout the day to take pics of you two together and when he looks back at the photos, he smiles all big.
At some point, he’ll drag you off to a private corner or to a single stall bathroom or even back to the car to dishevel your costume a bit with gentle groping and touches as you guys sloppily make out.
Probably messes up your hair, wig, makeup. Maybe all three. You might have to tell him to chill out cuz he’ll totally try to take you back home for some quality time together right now.
If yall are more into the ‘cosplay for a video and post it online but don’t leave the house’ thing, he’s totally fine with that too.
He wouldn’t care if no one even saw your cosplays but each other bc either way, it’s a lot of fun and he loves the quality time spent with you.
Always asks you to help with the makeup part of any cosplay. I couldn’t see him being very good with makeup so he’s gonna rely on you.
Also he sucks bc you’ll take hours to get into your cosplay, trying to perfect your look and Matt will ruin it all with his big, grabby hands and his soft, slobbery lips within minutes.
But god forbid you wreck his cosplay from being all handsy and kissy, he’ll pout about it for the rest of the day.
“Aawwww, (Y/N)!!! No! Why?! I looked so goooddddd, ugh!”
Back to the ‘fuck gender roles’ thing…Matt would find you so fucking hot cute in any cosplay, regardless of your gender or the characters’ gender.
If you are a fem who wants to dress as a masc character, he’s like 😍🥵
If you are a masc who wants to dress as a fem character, he’s like 😳🥰
If you’re anything in between or non binary or whatever, he doesn’t care. He vibes with you soooo heavy so your looks or your sexuality or your gender identity don’t bother him. If anything, your unique sense of yourself makes him adore you even more.
ALSO ALSO same goes with height, weight, skin color. If you wanna cosplay a character that actually looks nothing like you, is way taller than you or way thinner than you, he’s there to help you get it as accurate as you can
Tells you at least 100 times that it’s just dress up and doesn’t have to be perfect
But also tells you you’re always perfect in the same breath
He’ll support you in any way no matter what.

Early Mornings
A/N: I got this idea based on this picture, and I simply had to write it! This is my first nsft too, so bear with me please! Enjoy!
Summary: Link and Zelda are spending an early morning together in Hateno Town, and they get quite intimate.
Warnings: tickling, smut, sex
Word Count: 2160
Tumblr media
Link slowly blinked his eyes open, letting out a yawn as he sat up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes while taking in his surroundings. The sun was shining brightly through the window of his little house in Hateno village, the warmth of the rays waking him and– oh. That’s right. A smile spread on his lips as he looked next to him, staring at the bare back of a still sleeping Zelda. He was no longer alone.
They had been together for nearly two years now, yet he still found it hard to believe that it was real, and not just some dream. He smiled and gently rolled onto his side to lay next to her, placing an arm around her waist as he leaned close to place a kiss on the tip of her ear. She let out a pleased sigh, yet didn’t wake up. Yet.
“Good morning Princess,” He cooed, lightly peppering her neck with kisses while trailing his fingers over her bare side, from her ribs to her hip. This had the desired effect as Zelda started giggling softly from the affectionate touches.
“L-Link,” She breathed, sending a shiver down his spine. He loved it when she said his name, no matter what the circumstance was. “Waking up the Princess of Hyrule is a crime, you know. I could lock you up in the dungeons for that.” She added, and he laughed a little at that.
“I would be terrified if you hadn’t used that card a million times already,” He smiled teasingly, pulling his hand away as he pressed a kiss against her shoulder. “Besides, you asked me to wake you up, remember?” He added. Zelda let out a ‘hmph’ as she realized he was right. They had taken a few days off and had retired to Link’s house in Hateno, and today they were supposed to continue their travels, this time towards Gerudo Town. Supposed to.
“... Five more minutes,” She mumbled, blushing a little as she felt Link stare at her. As a Princess, she had never been able to explore the joys of sleeping in. Now? Now there was no way anyone was ever taking that away from her again. Princess Riju could wait another five minutes.
“Oh? Princess Zelda, refusing to wake up? What will the Kingdom say, once they get word of this scandalous act?” Link sighed dramatically, putting the back of his hand to his forehead. Zelda rolled her eyes and let out a chuckle.
“They don’t need to know, you know. Now go back to sleep, knucklehead, we can sleep a little longer,” She said, and she couldn’t help but smile at the undignified gasp it earned.
“Guardian Bait. Beefy Brain. Knucklehead. And here I thought you loved me,” He sighed again, shaking his head. Zelda could tell by his voice that he was joking of course, yet she couldn’t help but tease him a bit more. He had been so reserved at first, and she quite loved his playful side.
“Of course I love you, I love everything about you,” She said, looking over her shoulder at him with a warm smile, taking in his flustered expression. “Especially that one time where a guardian grabbed your ankle and held you upsi– ahh! Ahahaha! Link stohohop!” Zelda immediately burst into giggles and reached for his hand, which was currently tickling her side.
“There was no need for that! You know how embarrassing that was!” Link whined, which made her laugh a little harder. His hand wormed his way past her defense easily, as he gently scratched his nails against her stomach. The princess shrieked and curled into a ball, letting out those giggles Link loved the most. He was suddenly painfully aware that they both were still naked as he pressed himself a little closer against her back, keeping her trapped against him.
“Eehehehee! There wahahahas! Your fahahace was so fuhuhunny! Nohohoho wait! Wahahait stohohop!!” She cried out when he wiggled his fingers a little faster to punish her. She didn’t have to look at him to know he was blushing, and decided it was worth it.
“Oh I’ll show you funny,” He playfully growled, going for the kill as he kneaded her hip. The Princess let out a loud cackle, rolling over to face him as she pushed against his shoulders.
“Lihihihink! Plehehehease stohohhoop! Ihihit tihihihickles!” Zelda shrieked when he moved his hand to scribble against her waist, pressing her forehead against his bare chest. He chuckled as her blonde hair tickled all over his collarbones.
“That’s the point, Princess,” He smirked, raising an eyebrow at her. “Are you sorry yet?” He asked, clearly giving her an ‘out’. She quickly nodded her head.
“I am I ahahaham! Now stohohohop!” She demanded through her giggles, and he finally relented with a shit-eating grin.
“There, now was that so hard?” He teased, earning himself a glare from her, followed by a smirk, and before he knew she had straddled him by sitting on his waist. The thin blanket had fallen to the side, and he couldn’t help but admire her naked body. Her long blonde hair dangling over her shoulders, her toned stomach, before his eyes eventually rested on her small, round breasts. A crimson blush spread on his cheeks as he felt his dick twitch and harden. Gods she was so beautiful.
“I may not throw you in the dungeons for waking me up early, but I’ll definitely punish you for this murder attempt,” She said, reaching out to grab his arms. “So now, you’re gonna put your arms behind your head and you’re gonna keep them there,” She ordered, sending another shiver down his spine.
“Ordering me around this early, huh? I guess you mean business,” Link chuckled, yet didn’t really resist that much as he put his arms behind his head. He was in the mood for a little challenge. And for whatever would follow.
“I always mean business,” She merely said before lightly dragging her nails down his strong biceps, which already made him shudder and bite back a laugh. While he had always tried to hide it, Link was stupidly ticklish. When Zelda found out about his little secret one night, she had decided to make him laugh with every opportunity she had, to ‘get rid of his stoic expression’, as she had phrased it. So it had become a daily routine between them, usually reserved for when they were alone.
“Ghkk… n-nice try Princess,” He said, trying to hide how badly it tickled. Unfortunately for him, Zelda knew how to read him by now, and she merely smirked.
“Oh but I’ve barely started,” She replied, moving her fingers down to lightly flutter into his underarms. The knight visibly jerked and started squirming on the bed, holding out for a few seconds before bursting into giggles.
“Ghk! Gah! Aha! Zelda that’s unfahahair!” He whined, trying his hardest to keep his arms locked in place. She knew how weak he was to gentle tickles, the cheater!
“All is fair in love, war and tickles,” She sang teasingly, scribbling her nails a little faster into his hollows before moving down to spider them over his ribs. This earned her a snort, followed by more frantic giggles.
“Zeldaahahahahahhaa!” He cried out, slightly arching his back under the ticklish touches. The urge to slam his arms to his sides was almost too powerful to resist, yet the challenge had lit a fire that made him hold out for now. Zelda smirked.
“What’s wrong? The mighty Hero can save all of Hyrule, but can’t deal with a few tickles?” She teased, scribbling her nails closer and closer towards his stomach. He closed his eyes and shook his head side to side, a massive grin spread over his face. He was caving and they both knew it. When Zelda decided to amp it up by raking her sharp nails down his abs, he let out a shriek and jerked his arms down, trying to curl up into a ball.
“BAHAHAHA! NOHHOHOHOHO!” He finally cried out, his arms wrapping around his stomach to hide his abs. The Princess let out an evil laugh.
“Aha! You pulled your arms down, which means you lose!” She declared smugly, skittering her nails all over his stomach and sides, whatever spot was vulnerable. Link threw his head back and let out a steady stream of deep-belly laughs, yet didn’t really try to stop her as he half-heartedly pushed against her arms. Zelda knew that if Link truly wanted to stop her, she’d have no chance to win. The fact that Link wanted to get tickled by her, and show his vulnerable side while laughing freely, just made her love him all the more.
“I SURREHEHEHEHENDER! YOU WIHIHIHIHIN!” He cried out, pushing one hand against her shoulder while the other gripped the blanket next to them. This only resulted in another shriek as she dug into his ribs, shaking her hands all over them.
“Do you give up? Do you really?” Zelda couldn’t help but giggle along with his laughter, shaking her hands a little longer before finally pulling away. “Now was that so hard?” She teased, earning a playful glare from him.
“Very funny, Princess,” He grunted with a smile, slowly catching his breath as he gently brushed his fingers over her thighs.
“I know something else that is hard,” Zelda said while raising an eyebrow with a smile, reaching backwards to brush her fingers over the tip of his dick, which was completely erect and desperate for attention at this point. Link shuddered violently and let out a soft moan. Finally.
“Ahh… Zelda, no teasing!” He whined as she lightly tickled her nails underneath the tip. Zelda giggled and continued.
“Aww but I thought you loved it when I do thi– oh!” She let out a surprised cry as Link suddenly switched position with her, gently yet firmly pinning her beneath him. He was in no mood to be teased.
“Zelda… may I..?” He asked, always asking her permission first. When she nodded, he grabbed her thighs and pulled her closer to him. By the looks of it he hadn’t been the only one getting ‘ready’. He reached forward with his hand to flutter a single finger over her clit, and the moan it earned made him throb even harder.
“Link! Ahh, there’s n-no need! I’m ready!” She gasped, almost immediately trying to close her legs. Link smirked and continued the feather light touches, to both not take the risk of hurting her, and to give her a taste of her own medicine. After a short while, he rubbed the tip of his dick up and down against her folds, before slowly entering her. She let out a loud groan and wrapped her legs around his lower back.
“Shh… it’s okay, I won’t hurt you,” He promised, slowly and steadily starting to thrust inside of her. Zelda arched her back and reached to grab one of his hands, intertwining her fingers with his.
“I trust you,” She said with a smile, and it was all the confirmation he needed. He started to speed up, reaching up to gently rub one of her nipples. He knew exactly how she liked it.
“Ah! Link! Oh Link!” She moaned, closing her eyes shut as she took in all the different pleasuring sensations. Link was getting near, but he wanted her to come first, so had to hold out a little longer.
“Hah… I’m here love,” He growled, reaching his hand down to rub her clit in steady circles with his thumb while grabbing her hips with his other hand, to put her in a slightly elevated position. Now, with every thrust he was hitting her special spot.
“Ahh! Link, I’m gonna– ahh!” Zelda cried out, racing towards her orgasm from all the stimulation. Link smiled.
“Come for me, Zelda,” He cooed in such a sweet way, and it was exactly what she did. The Princess let out a cry of pleasure as she came, riding out the waves as Link kept up the fast pace. Moments later she felt him vibrate inside of her as he came too, lowly growling in pleasure. He kind of reminded her of a beast at that moment. Her beast. Link carefully pulled out of her, panting rather heavily as he laid himself down next to her.
“We should get ready to start our journey towards Gerudo Town,” He said, still sounding rather breathless. Zelda nodded.
“We also need to shower, especially you, since you’re covered in sweat,” She said, earning a grunt as confirmation. They looked at each other for a moment.
“Five more minutes?” They both said at the same time, bursting into laughter right after.
“Alright, five more minutes,” Link said with a chuckle, pulling her to his chest. They could afford to sleep five more minutes.
Needless to say, they arrived late.

best friends don’t look at each other the way we do
A low stakes, high rewards and self-indulgent Zelink fanfic. Canon-compliant, takes place between BOTW and TOTK
chapter three: She is beautiful, I am a mess
Read chapter two here
My masterlist
Song: Lights are On by Tom Rosenthal
Summary: Link processes his destiny while Zelda slowly recovers. Link meets with an old friend, and realizes how much he wants to Zelda in his life.
Warnings: PTSD, implied self-harm, illness, trauma
Word Count: 3.3k words
Authors note: The last line of this? Scrumptious. I ate that up. Also I’m going to start doing different pieces of art/gifs at the start of each chapter mostly so I can see the differences in the notifications! Thanks for all the support! Everyone has been so kind this is easily the most supportive fan base I’ve ever written for.
Tumblr media
Link doesn’t leave her side the entire night, yet again. He sits on a stool pushed against the bed, and watches as she breathes in the sleep. He refuses to sleep, which means he’s gone about four days now with very little actual rest. This normally wouldn’t be a problem, but fighting Ganon on the second day of that no sleep schedule has really taken a toll on his physical health.
In his quiet contemplation as Zelda rested, the weight of what just happened set in. His heart rate rose as he remembered the sight of the Calamity, its spider-like body dripping with malice and disgust as it sneered at him. The stench is still pungent in his memory, his bad ear still beats with the blood that filled his body as he faced his destiny for a second time. He’s supposed to be courageous, unafraid and rarely daunted by his fate, but in reality he’s terrified.
Link doesn’t think he’ll ever forget the feeling in his bones as witnessed by the beast. How he felt paralyzed, how the night before he prayed to the Goddess that he wouldn’t wake up. Make someone else do it, please.
He could never admit this to anyone, and even struggles to admit it to himself. If he’s supposed to be the closest thing to the God of Bravery, why does he feel like such a pathetic coward most of the time? Maybe it was his reckless abandon that caused his status, or the fact that he’s so desensitized to the horrors of his knighthood. But those things do not equate to courage.
What even was courage, he asks himself.
He looks at Zelda. “She is beautiful”, he thinks “I am a mess”.
Link places a nervous thumb to her jaw with trepidation. He gently holds her face, soft enough that it wouldn’t wake her. Her skin is so soft, her eyelashes so gentle, her breathing even. Does she have any idea how beautiful she is when she sleeps?
When day finally breaks, Link realizes how cold it’s gotten in the house, and he takes the brave step of leaving the sleeping princess to build a fire in the hearth. He does so quickly, using a fire arrow. He pulls on a warm shirt, and quickly returns upstairs to Zelda.
She was awake, looking up at him.
“You should keep sleeping.” He whispers.
She groans, “Why did you leave?” She was aware enough to tell?
“I built a fire.” Link explains, "It's cold.”
“Oh.” Zelda whispers, “I am cold.”
Link crosses to his dresser and pulls out a woven blanket from the bottom drawer, draping it over her and the blanket she already had. She whispers thank you. ”Did you dream?” Link asks.
Zelda nods.
“It was me and my mom, we were eating and laughing together.” She describes and Link smiles. He places his hand against her forehead, and feels that she’s burning up. Of course she has a fever, that would cause her body to have the chills, that on top of a cold house wasn’t a good fit.
“How are you feeling?” He asks, vocalizing from a whisper for the first time.
Zelda thinks about it for a moment, she’s so snuggled up in the blankets all he can see is her face. “I’m not sick.” She states. Link is skeptical, but he nods.
“Go back to sleep.”
“Are you going to leave me again?” She asks.
“I might. I think I’ll go into town and get some things from the market, and I should probably send a message to Impa that we’re alive.” Link explains. Zelda frowns.
“I’m scared to be alone again.”
Link frowns, “You’ll be okay. But you need to sleep, your body is trying to recover from-“ He stops himself, he doesn't need to explain any further.
“You need sleep, too.” Zelda replies. She was right.
“I’ll be fine.” He shrugs it off. “But you need to promise me that you’ll be okay if I leave for a few hours, alright?”
Zelda groans, “You’ll come back, right?”
“Of course.”
It’s a few more hours before he leaves, he waits until Zelda falls back asleep, and it’s mid-morning when he finally does. He makes his way into Hateno Village, which is as lively as ever. He first stops in at the general store, buying a few essential items, and telling the store keeper about where he was last.
“You’re telling me you got rid of that thing at Hyrule Castle?” He asks, skeptical. Link just nods and shrugs as he examines a swift carrot. Like it was no big deal. The man laughs behind the counter, “And you lived to tell the tale? I don’t believe it.” He scoffs.
Link sets his items on the table between them, digging out a handful of rupees. “Well, I lived to tell the tale of Naydra last year, you all witnessed that, didn’t you?”
“I suppose… but that thing at the castle is a legend, I never even saw it. Just got told ghost stories of it as a boy.” His voice was gruff.
Link smiles, “whatever you want to believe, you don’t have to believe me.” Link sets to rupees down.
“That’s more than the cost.” The man states.
“Keep it.” Link pushes it towards him before putting his items in his pouch. “Use it to fix your roof, I saw it was leaking.”
The man smiles, “you’re always so good to us, Link. This village owes you.”
“You don’t owe me anything, except maybe your trust. The story will spread and rumors will, too.” Link turns to leave, but stops just outside of the door, speaking over his shoulder. “It wasn’t a ghost either, it was a spider-like thing that hatched out of a cocoon with giant axes and swords.” Link opens his arms up to show the size, “Probably at least the size of three oxen!” The shopkeeper's face goes pale, “But that wasn’t even the hard part!” Link starts to smile mischievously, “Then we took the battle onto Hyrule Field, and he turned into a massive pig. As big as a house, or bigger.”
The owner was dumbfounded, unable to reply at first, but then he shook his head, “You have quite the imagination, Link!” He chuckles and waves him off. Link just grins as he exits the shop.
He makes his way up the mountain to Purah and Symin’s, making a stop at the farm to pet the cows and help the owner with a broken fence post in trade for some milk. It was about noon now, and he wasn’t expecting to take as long to get to the Tech Lab, but the fence was absolutely destroyed. The farmer didn’t know what caused it, but it certainly wasn’t a cow…
The light on the Hateno valley is warm and inviting. It will be the harvest soon. Link had missed his days here. Early on after he woke up, he spent weeks at a time in this little village. Mostly because he was still too poor to afford sleeping anywhere other than his home. It was a safe home base for him when he was freeing the divine beasts. It wasn’t until he had laid his friends' spirits to rest that he became the wild child of the forest he was now. The last year or so he stopped spending more than a few days anywhere, it was the anxiety of the upcoming battle he kept avoiding that caused him to become such a nomad. He learned that it was always free to sleep in trees.
He gets to the lab, and before he can even open the door, Purah is swinging the door open. “Linky! You’re alive!” She cheers, looking up at him.
”I am,” Link replies with a smile, “and Zelda is, too.”
Purah smiles wide, her eyes becoming fiery, “Incredible. Is she okay!” She opens the door for Link, he enters the messy-as-usual lab, setting his sack of goodies down on the table.
“I don’t know…” Link shakes his head, “She’s very tired all the time, and she passed out quite unexpectedly last night.” He sighs. “I’m actually rather worried about her.” He admits. “It took me a long time to wake her up after she passed out, too. Longer than it should have.” Purah walks over to the table before climbing on top of it to Link’s eye-level.
“But she’s alive! And I’m assuming her body has been preserved, no?”
“It has, she doesn’t look a day over seventeen. But her spirit and her mind has changed, she’s tired.”
“Aren’t we all…” Purah shakes her head, “But no one as much as her.” She shrugs, “I would love to run some tests on you two, it might help me figure out my age issue.”
“More tests? I thought you said you were done with me?” Link groans.
“Nope, now that Zelda is here I want to take a sample of her DNA, too, and see if I can reverse-engineer it to cross with my DNA and get me back to my preferred physical age. I’m sick of this.” She gestures to her child-like state.
“When she’s feeling better I’ll ask her. I’m sure she’ll say yes, considering her love of science and all.”
“Alright Linky, what are you here for, I know you didn’t come to just talk, you always need something from me.” She teases.
“Alright Purah… don’t be mad.” He says as he reaches into his pouch to pull out a smashed and destroyed sheikah slate: the same one that got him through his quest.
Purah’s face goes white. “You did not just do that to an ancient piece of indestructible tech.” She reaches for it, taking the device in her hand and cringing.
“Well it wasn’t that indestructible, now was it?” Link asks with an awkward laugh.
“How?” Purah asks, traumatized.
“It happened while I fought Ganon, it kind of… exploded, and then he trampled it as a giant hog in Hyrule field.”
“That is…” She chooses her words carefully, “Epic, Linky.”
“You’re not mad?”
“No! But you’re gonna be when you can warp to sheikah hotspots. You’ll just have to go on foot like the rest of us. Speaking of, did you see what happened to the shrine in the ocean?”
“What?” He obviously didn’t.
“It sunk back into the ground, completely gone! Symin watched it happen! I’m curious about that happening to the other sheikah tech…” She gets lost in thought, and Link realizes that they all might disappear just as fast as they were found. “No one is gonna be more heartbroken about this than the Princess.” Purah finishes her thoughts.
“I’m hiding it from her. She can’t take a heart break in this state.” Link groans, sitting down in one of the chairs by the table. “Purah… I need you to send a message to Impa. I would go myself in person and be back by dinner but I can’t because the slate is gone. I know you sheikah have weird ways of communicating through distance, especially you sisters.” Link sighs.
“Oh she’ll beat you if you don’t go in person. You know how she is.”
“Yes. Which is why I am absolutely sick over this. But I can’t leave Zelda, she’s not okay, and I don’t know how long it’s going to be until she is.” He explains. “Impa can be mad at me all she wants, but she deserves to know that we are both alive and safe, and Ganon is not.”
Purah squints, “Fine. But you owe me.”
“As if saving the world wasn’t enough.” Link scoffs playfully.
“Hey! Don’t get cocky, no one likes a cocky hero. Besides, it’s not like you did it on your first try.” Purah jumps down from the table and Link’s entire body seizes. She freezes in her tracks when she realizes she said that out loud. She slowly turns around to see Link tense and unhappy. “Linky… I’m sorry I didn’t mean-“
He says nothing at first, “Is that what you guys say about me?”
“Link, we've always pushed each other's buttons like that.”
“It’s fine.” He sighs, it wasn’t fine. He signs, “I’m leaving. I don’t need anyone else’s shit.” He always signed when his emotions were at risk of betraying his words. He didn’t want to upset someone with his words. Purah isn’t very good at signs, but she gets the gist.
It was rare to see Link genuinely mad, especially at someone he cared about and knows is good. But that was out of line.
“Link…”
“Will you just tell Impa that we’re okay. Both of us. The calamity is gone and we’ll come visit as soon as we get our strength back.” He grabs his belongings and heads out.
“Wait-“ Purah tries to stop him but he leaves too fast. He takes a deep breath when he gets outside, looking out towards the sea. He walks towards the edge of the cliff, staring out at the horizon, letting the salty sea air blow on his skin. He looks where the shrine that lived in the water once was, and nothing was there but the original mound of island sand it sat on.
Back at home, Zelda is still in bed, and Link frowns when he sees her. He sits on his stool next to her, placing his hand against her forehead again. Her fever hasn’t broken.
“I’m home.” He whispers, and she stirs awake, her green eyes looking up at him. She smiles.
“I had the most wonderful dream.” She sighs. “We were at the beach, you and I, and Impa and Urbosa… and my mother.” Link worries that she dreams about those who have passed, he brushes some of her golden hair out of her face. “We looked at the water and listened to the seagulls. My mother was so beautiful and healthy, not like how she was when I remembered her.”
Zelda was very young when her mother died, and she was quite ill for the years leading up to her passing. Link remembered that, he remembered many of the things Zelda opened up to him about in their final days before The Calamity. “Do you want some water?” Link asks, she nods. He stands up, making his way to the well outside and scooping a bucket of it before coming back in. He finds her sitting up in bed.
“Did you get up all by yourself?” He asks with a smile. She nods, her face still pale and expression lost. She was much worse today. Link scoops some water out with a cup, and hands it to her. She shakily holds it in both hands, bringing the wooden mug up to her lips and sipping lightly. Link sits beside her this time, but he feels petrified.
In the last two days they've already crossed so many boundaries. He feels as though he has to be the stoic Knight from before, never looking at her for too long, not speaking unless spoken to, and especially not touching without explicit permission. That was a whole lifetime ago, however, and he’s barely the same person he was when those were the rules.
But even so, he can’t help but follow those roles that he keeps breaking. He shouldn’t see her in such a state: shirt too loose, eyes droopy, sighs so gentle and alluring it could tame a lynel.
He knows no one is watching them, no one is there to judge them, but he cannot bring himself to hold her hand as she shakes, even though he desperately wants to. Placing his hand on her head to check for temperature and burns in her hair from her face was already a serious breach of protocol, and yet when he did it, he felt so comfortable, so safe. He felt more like himself.
Maybe what’s holding him back is the knowledge that she didn’t lose her memories. To her, he is supposed to be that obedient servant.
He knows they got very close towards the end. Based on the memories he’s recollected, he knows they broke those rules far more than they should have. But it was always by Zelda’s instigation. She wanted him to place his hand on the small of her back as they walked, she asked him to lace up her goddess dress, she initiated the gentle touches and hugs of despair.
Now, he’s terrified of taking advantage of her in her sickly state, but he wants so badly to lie with her. To finally get some rest of his own, in his own bed, holding the girl he worked so tirelessly to rescue.
He wishes he could rest as a reward.
He reminds himself that her presence, safety and life is reward enough.
And goddess, is that a wonderful reward. Her weight sinking down the bed, her intoxicating smell, their shoulders just barely brushing. She was incredible, completing a feat that no one had ever come close to accomplishing, and here she was, in his home, in his bed, wearing his clothes.
Link's stomach flips, and he immediately forces himself to relax. Realizing how immature his though process was. This was a princess, not a girl in the Gerduo Brothel. He was confused.
“What are you thinking about?” She asks him, pulling him out of his rampant thoughts. He snaps back to reality.
“What?” He turns to see her looking up at him with her shiny eyes. “Oh…” He desperately wants to tell her, tell her that he’s thinking of her and only her. For three years he spent sleepless nights staring at the heavens and thinking about her. How he hungrily searched for every memory just to hear her voice, and how he took her diary out of the castle to read every page, even the ones that were scribbled with doodles and blacked-out poetry. He wanted to tell her that he fell for her the moment she told him to open-his-eyes, and when he finally remembered what she looked like, she was even prettier than what he imagined.
“…Horses.” He says, dumbfounded and foolish. She smiles.
“I’ve always admired how you loved them. You were the best rider in all of the guard, I fully believe it’s because of how gentle you were with them. They trusted you, which made them listen to you.”
The way she spoke was so thoughtful, so intelligent. Link catches himself accidentally looking at her lips, but yanks his eyes away.
“W-What were you thinking about?” He asks.
She looks off, swallowing thickly. Zelda then lifts her hand, holding it palm up, staring at it. Nothing happens.
“My gift isn’t working anymore.” She states. “I tried while you were getting the water, and look, nothing.” Zelda explains. Link looks at her hand, not knowing what he’s supposed to see.
Her hand is so soft, her fingers long and slender, her nails clean and rounded to perfection.
Her wrists are littered with old scars.
Link wants to take her hand. She sets it down in her lap, “I suppose that’s alright. I don’t need them anymore.”
“What was it like?” Link asks. “In that castle.” Zelda shudders. “You don’t have to say.” Link states.
Zelda carefully constructs her words, “Cold. All the time I was cold. I wasn’t conscious usually, but I wasn’t… unconscious either. I know it makes no sense. I was in a sort of trance. Time seemed to move at a rapid pace while also simultaneously standing still.” She looks at him, rotating her body to face him, he mirrors her.
“Did he ever… say anything?” Link asked.
Zelda nodded, “In the beginning he would whisper constantly, but it was an ancient language I didn’t understand. The longer time went on, the more tired he got, but the wiser I became. He spoke less, and I was able to pick up on certain words and phrases. He didn’t expect me to last as long as I did, that’s for certain.”
Link listens intently, “How did you do it, last so long?” He asks.
Zelda’s big, green eyes meet his. She takes his hand with hers.
“Because I knew one day you would wake up.”

Zelda Dating HCs
Anon: Hi! Could I request some gender neutral hcs about dating Botw Zelda please? This version of the character has suffered do much man I just want her to be happy. Thanks for reading this!
Meant to post this sooner, sorry!! I thought I hit post 💔 But anyways, this is a bit long. Hope you enjoy!! :)
✨ You were Zelda’s assistant, someone knowledgeable in magic and history. Although you didn’t know how to perform magic yourself, the king trusted you in helping his daughter with unlocking her powers. As the day of Ganon’s awakening comes closer, the desperation steadily increases.
✨ Much like Link, Zelda wasn’t very fond of you. You didn’t blame her. To have the fate of an entire kingdom and neighboring villages lie on your shoulders would be difficult to bear. So the two of you didn’t talk much unless you were guiding her to unlocking her powers. But you wanted to bond with her. You wanted to at least take a bit of pressure off of her. But was that even possible?
✨ You overheard an argument with Zelda and her father. It’s not like you were trying to eavesdrop, you just came at the wrong time. But listening to the king forbid Zelda from any interactions of the ancient Sheikah relics made your heart ache. Her love for ancient technology was obvious. And to take it away? You understood the king’s reason, but it was upsetting nonetheless.
✨ You don’t get to look over and direct the people working with the guardians, however, you get to ask about the process and detail about everything. Had you been any other person, the Sheikah would most likely just tell you to shoo or give you a weird look. But you’re practically a historian! It would be strange if you didn’t show a hint of fascination with these relics.
✨ You wrote down everything they told you, then headed to Zelda’s room. You assumed she was in there. After the (long) walk, you knocked softly on her door and waited until she gave you permission to enter. You looked down at your journal, flipping to the pages about the Sheikah technology. You hoped it would cheer the princess up, even if it was slightly.
You pushed open the door, looking over at the princess who sat on the side of her bed. Her back faced you and her shoulders were slumped. She was fumbling with something, you couldn’t see what. Quietly breathing in, you walked inside and brought a small smile to your face.
“Princess, I brought something special for you,” you announced. Zelda perked up and turned slightly, a curious look appeared on her face.
“For me?”
You nodded, gripping the book slightly tighter. Sitting besides her, you opened it up and turned some pages. “It’s not too special, I think, but I’m sure you’d appreciate it.” Once you found the right page, you gave her your journal. She set aside the guardian part she had in her hands to take a look at your notes. Her eyes lit up once she realized it was details about the ancient Sheikah technology.
“Oh my,” she gasped, reading what you wrote down. “These discoveries would certainly be useful… hm… fascinating!” Your smile got wider as you listened to her mumble and hum. After she finished reading, she grinned as she raised her head to look at you.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it? Despite the age of these relics, they certainly are so advanced! There’s so much more we can learn. Don’t you think they can be useful against Ganon?”
She chattered about the possibilities and uses from the technology that was dug up. You listened closely, as you’ve never gotten to hear the princess speak so much and so joyfully. But she suddenly paused and her smile fell. Zelda reread the notes you wrote down and told you, “My father.. He told me to focus on unlocking my powers and… I cannot have any sort of interaction with the discoveries being made.”
You already knew this, but didn’t tell her. You placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and said, “I can update you whenever they made a new discovery or any progress. You deserve happiness, princess. I believe that this stress will only block you from unlocking your sealing powers. While you could unlock it during a difficult situation… this situation wouldn’t be helpful. Use these notes as… motivation! Yeah!”
Zelda mulled over your words for a moment with a soft smile. “You certainly are a prodigy, aren’t you?”
“I’m nothing special, princess.”
“...Call me Zelda.”
Your eyes widened, but you nodded. “Of course, Zelda.”
She closed your journal and returned it to you. “I.. I apologized for being so cold towards you. I feel as though… you’re the only one who truly has faith in me.”
“I could never doubt you, Zelda. Now, let’s get some fresh air! I’ll tell the king we’re working on awakening your powers.”
✨ Neither of you can show any sort of physical affection. The king would certainly disapprove. Not to mention all the rumors that would spread in the castle…
✨ The only people who know are Link and the other champions, and they support you fully! Urbosa does (threaten) tell you to never break her heart. She’s been through enough already and everyone knows that well. Daruk and Mipha happily congratulate the two of you (and Mipha asks for dating/confession advice). And while Revali pretends to disapprove and judge, he supports your relationship in his own way.
✨ Your dates take place in the field, away from the pressure of the king. Link stays nearby but gives the two of you plenty of privacy. He stands by to make sure no monster ruins your day or to give you a heads up if someone is coming.
✨ I think Zelda would be a bit touch-starved or something. Mostly because she lost her mother at a young age and had to mature quickly. Affection would be strange and awkward for her at first, but once she warms up to it, she’s very loving!!
✨ I think her love language would be quality time and physical affection. She wants to spend as much time as she can with you and be close to you as possible.

The Eyes of Fate || Sooga (LoZ) x OC
Tumblr media
Summary:
“You can go your whole life not believing in fate or destiny, and then one day, you find somebody so right for you, at such a right time and place, you won’t know what to call it.”
— Mark Anthony.
Sooga looks behind him one last time for a very long time. He pauses — the warrior felt conflicted. “It’s not supposed to be so difficult. I’ve been a ruthless warrior since childhood, but why is it hard to say goodbye to her?”
“Will you wait for me?” Sooga asked. The question itself felt like a promise that she would be seeing him again. She smiled at him despite her eyes tearing up, and ran into his arms. “Of course, I will.” Anya’s words held nothing but the truth as they pulled back to look at each other despite him having his mask on. “I’ll wait for you in this and any other lifetime we may have.” She added.
Sooga pulled his mask up only to his lips and pressed a soft kiss against her forehead. For the young woman managed to make her way into his heart.
“Come home to me, please.” She urged. “I will.” Sooga replied.
Notes:
Holy shit, this is my first fanfic ever. 😅 be nice, please.
Also none of the characters in the Legend of Zelda are mine except for my original character(s) of course. This fanfiction will contain violence, foul language and mayyyyyybe smut. If I don’t chicken out to write it. So if you’re a minor, please don’t proceed any further.
Sooooooo I’ve been playing Zelda: Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity and might’ve joined the Sooga simp club in the process of getting through the game. Also I can’t believe there’s hardly any stories about him. 😭 it should be a crime. Anyways, I decided to make a fanfic about the man himself, Sooga; following the events of Age of Calamity but with my own twist of course. So without a further ado, here’s The Eyes of Fate.
————————
Being Princess Zelda’s handmaiden had its perks such as becoming best friends with her royal highness and learning new skills and seeing the many wonders Hyrule had to offer. Anya would even give her own life to protect the princess and she had no problem with it. In fact, she wouldn’t change being Zelda’s handmaiden for anything else in the world.
“My job will be the only thing I’ll ever love.” She joked. “I can’t wait to see you when you’re in love.” Zelda bantered. She playfully rolled her eyes and smiled widely at the princess.
————————
Anya gazes at the night sky through her window at the Hyrule Castle as she sets her book down and sighed. “Whatever is the matter?” Zelda inquired as Anya slightly jumped at the princess’s voice despite her talking softly.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” Zelda apologized and Anya shook her head. “It’s okay.” She remarked. The two of them sat in silence for a moment and the princess glanced at her. “So are you going to tell me what’s the matter?” She probed as Anya just smiled in response.
“I do not wish to burden you with my problems, Princess.” Anya stated and as she turned back to face the window, she could see Zelda’s are you shitting me right now expression through the reflection of the window’s glass. “And I’ve told you a million times to drop the formalities — you’re like family. Like my sister.”
She turned to face Zelda, with her undivided attention and began, “I’m just a bit concerned about what the future holds.” Anya admitted. “I know we all have our duty to fulfill. Mine is like Link’s — to protect you from harm.” As a handmaiden, it was required not only that she had the knowledge to mend the princess’s clothing if needed, but also combat skills. By the King’s orders. So he made sure that Anya would be a formidable warrior. Medical knowledge was also amongst the skills she possessed.
“Everything will be okay.” Zelda reassured her as she faintly smiled. “Shouldn’t I be the one listening to your worries and comforting you right after?” Anya asked, as she genuinely grinned this time.
“Just because you’re my handmaiden doesn’t mean that you carry all your worries on your shoulders.” Zelda stated matter of factly and embraced her.
“Oh!” Anya was slightly surprised as she hugged her friend back. “Thank you, Zelda.” She whispered and the princess nodded. “See? That’s better. The dropping of the formalities.” Zelda smiled back at her dearest friend and headed towards the door.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, get some rest. And that’s an order from the princess.” Zelda remarked. “Yes, ma’am, good night princess.” Anya called out. “Good night.”
——————————
That night, the moment Anya’s head hit the pillow, she slept so soundly. She kept the window of her bedroom slightly open to feel the warm summer breeze, the moonlight shining so beautifully and the crickets chirped softly lulling her to sleep so fitfully.
Who would’ve ever known that’d be the last peaceful night in Hyrule before the threat of the Calamity awakening soon prompting everyone in Hyrule to be on edge.
Around dawn, a monster sighting just outside the castle attempting to break in is what had everyone in the kingdom putting their armors on and gathering their weapons. Anya braided her hair and grabbed her sword as she rushed outside. Captain Hoz, Link and the other knights were already training with each other due to the report that more monsters had been spotted.
“This is worse than I thought…” King Rhoam commented to himself as he watched through a balcony. The King knew better than to have his people worrying and scaring them off so he’d usually have a stoic expression despite his own worries. Especially for his daughter, who had yet to awaken her sealing powers.
Anya was practicing sparring with Link as hordes of monsters started rushing towards the castle. Link glanced over and she silently nodded as Link, Anya and the other knights started taking down the monsters just outside of the castle. “Look out!!” Captain Hoz called out as a Moblin’s spear nearly hit Link. The young knight skillfully dodged the blow at the last second and took down the monster with ease. “That was a close one.” Hoz stated. “Thank you.” Link replied as he noticed something strange laying near him. He approached the strange relic and soon realized it was a small guardian in a dormant state. “What’s that?” Anya asked, looking down at the small thing on the floor.
“It’s a guardian but I doubt it still works. It’s probably been lying here for who knows how long.” Link replied. As he carefully examined the small guardian, Impa rushed into the Hyrule field with the sheikah slate on her hands and bokoblins chasing after her. “You! Help!” Impa called out to them. Link rushed to her aid as she toppled on the floor and the sheikah slate flew out of her hand. Anya rushed to try and catch the slate but Link’s quick reflexes caught it on time; just as the small guardian awoke and the ground began to violently shake.
“What the—…” Anya started.
“Why is this happening?” Impa questioned while the bokoblins rushed towards them. Link was ready to strike one of the small monsters down as a tower emerged from the ground and they lost sight of the monsters.
“It’s… a tower?” Impa queried.
For a moment the three of them forgot about the small guardian until it beeped and they turned to face it.
“My curiosity is more focused on this little guy.” Anya stated. “Hmmm… an inexplicable guardian. And a mysterious tower.” Impa commented.
“I hate to say it but we have little hope of figuring this one out on our own.” Anya added.
“That's true.” Impa agreed. “Hey! What are you—?!” She shrieked as Impa chased after the little guardian as the little guy rushed off. Anya and Link glanced at each other and then took after Impa as well. The three of them went after the guardian but lost sight of it when they came across the King, where he was addressing the knights and commended them for taking down the monsters.
“Each of you has served your kingdom admirably.” King Rhoam announced.
The three of them walked in silence and stopped at the first gatehouse where Zelda came from. She was wearing a beautiful navy blue dress with gold accents and white ruffles along with a small tiara. Link stared until Anya nudged him and threw him a knowing smirk and the young knight slightly blushed.
Ah young love. Anya thought.
“I heard about the monsters that attempted to make their way into the castle. I’m so glad to see you’re all okay.” Zelda verbalized.
“The training has really paid off to keep you safe, your highness.” Anya responded.
Despite their discussion last night about dropping the formalities when addressing the princess, Anya couldn’t bring herself to do so in front of others. She had to set an example. And the princess seemed to notice.
“You made it! I’m glad you made it safe, Impa.” Zelda added.
Link kneeled before her as Impa nodded.
“Yes. Though I couldn’t have done it without them since I was being chased by bokoblins, so thank you.” Impa acknowledged. “And I’ve received the Sheikah slate from Purah.”
Anya, Link and Impa had forgotten about their new little friend and at that moment, the little guardian rushed towards the princess but Link managed to grab it just in time and held it up in the air whilst it beeped repeatedly.
“Hmm? What is that?” Zelda asked curiously.
“Your highness!” Impa addressed the princess and showed her the Sheikah slate’s screen activating simultaneously with the small guardian.
“Do you think the little guy also has something to do with the strange tower that emerged from the ground?” Aryll inquired.
“Perhaps, we’re going to have to study about it.” Impa answered.
Notes:
I’ve finally brought my fanfic here from AO3. Also I should mention that my character is 21 years old in the first few chapters.
And lastly the chapters will eventually get longer. My impatient self can’t wait for Sooga and Anya to come across each other for the first time lol.

Whumptober day ten!
This one's much less whumpy to apologize for all the angst that yall have read and still have yet to read.
Anyway Wars has a therapy session that's it thats the fic
932 words
No warnings, let me know if that should change!
~~~~
He’s laying in bed.
For some reason… that feels odd. Hadn’t he… where…?
“Link? Are you awake?”
He rubs his eyes, frowning. “Zelda?”
A small laugh, a rare sound from her. She sits at the edge of the bed, hand lingering on his arm.
“Tired, still, Captain?” She teases, and he smiles. She’s in a good mood- a really good mood.
“Yeah. I guess… things have been rough lately.”
“Tell me about it.” She offers, her eyes finding him. He sits up.
“I was- am? Was? On this quest… hunting a shadow with heros from different ages. It injured one of the- one of my friends. Badly.” He says quietly, looking away.
“Think it through, Captain. Short term?”
“He’s doing much better now.”
“Long term?”
“There’s some sort of… infection. A darkness. A… we don’t even know what. We have no idea what it is, how it will effect him, how to stop it should we need to… we don’t even know what we’re up against, much less how to defeat it, or… or what it’s goal is, or where it came from. We know nothing- it’s frustrating. People I care about are in danger and-”
He cuts off, looking away.
“How do you find your answers, Link?” Zelda says softly, her hand brushing his shoulder.
“I don’t know.” He sighs.
She laughs. “You’re smarter than that, Link. How do you find the answers you want?”
He sighs again, closing his eyes. “Start with the things you already know and go from there.” “What’s the easiest thing to find out?” Zelda asks, and he opens his eyes to look at her.
“Depends on our resources. If we have access to good records… we could probably find out what it wants. Or at least where it came from. But we’d have to be in the right time period, the right town, there’s a lot of things it depends on…”
“Ok, then don’t focus on that. What do you need to know?”
“How to defeat it.”
She gives a small smile.
He can’t help but to smile, too.
“We’ll figure it out,” He sighs finally. “I just… have a lot on my mind. Thanks for your help.”
“Can’t you see you’re lost without me?” She teases, and he laughs.
Shifts his hand to take hers. “Always have been.”
She rolls her eyes, but smiles.
Something in his expression catches.
“Talk to me, Link.” She says softly.
He takes a moment to steady himself.
“I just… feel so paralyzed. Stranded. Like I can’t do anything but watch as my friends get hurt, as we go up against this threat and have no idea what’s coming for us, what the threat is… I need to figure it out. Someone else is going to get hurt. I can stop that from happening if I could just- find the answers, stop this before it starts. Like a game of chess, Zelda, I need to see five moves ahead but I’m seven moves behind and outnumbered and my king is in check.”
“Link, it’s not all your responsibility. There’s several of you- talk it through with them. The goddess brought you all together as a team for a reason. It’s going to take all of you to figure this out. You don’t have to see five moves ahead- just see the possibilities. As events unfold, you figure out which ones happened and why.” “This isn’t war, Zelda.”
The princess smiles. “No, Link, it’s not. And that’s why you’re struggling so much.”
He falters at that, blinking stupidly at her.
Then groans, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “I’ve been thinking of this like battle strategies.”
She nods, giving a small, slightly sympathetic smile.
“We’re not at war… so I can’t think… ugh. I’m a moron.”
“No, it’s just what you’re used to.” She says.
“I feel dumb.”
“We don’t just make any fool a military captain, Link.”
He laughs at that, shaking his head. “Oh, please, I was a complete idiot when I was made a captain at first.”
“As much as you believe you were, you weren’t. You made mistakes, yes, but that doesn’t make you a fool. We all made our mistakes during the war. We grew and moved past them.”
He nods, looking away.
Then- “I’m sorry I’ve been gone for so long.”
She raises an eyebrow. “Feeling particularly guilty tonight, are you?”
He sighs, laying back again. “I don’t know why everything is hitting me so hard right now. I mean… how long have I been gone? After I said I wouldn’t leave again…”
“Link.”
“I know, I know, I’m being stupid again.” He groans. She gives a small laugh.
“It’s coming up, isn’t it? The day the war started?”
She nods.
Ah. That explains it.
“Hmm. We’ve tried talking, we’ve tried distracting… you know what I do when I feel this way?” She asks, her fingers lacing through his.
He opens her eyes to look at her, shaking his head.
Her hand brushes gently over his cheek. “I try waking up.”
He snaps awake, sitting up quickly, gaze darting around to find Wind, Sky, Four, Hyrule, Legend, Wild, Twi, Time…
He shakes his head, rubbing his eyes.
“You alright, Captain?” The old man asks, voice gentle.
He nods as he walks over to the fire, fighting back a laugh.
“I… just had the weirdest dream.” He explains halfheartedly, pulling out his journal.
Dear Zelda, he writes, unable to help the little laugh that escapes him.
When he starts dreaming about having a therapy session… well, it’s a sure sign he needs one.
Finding Her - Chapter 17
Tumblr media
Link makes notes, takes photos and keeps time on his quest across Hyrule, in the hopes of finding Zelda and staying sane until he does. [ Previous | Next | First | AO3 ]
Log date: 06:35. 8th month, 29th day 104AC Location: Tuft Mountain, Faron Weather: Rain
Link, Zelda’s Chosen Protector. You do not wish to talk to me. I understand, however we must talk.
I know the Purah Pad is precious to you. I have watched you document your travels and your thoughts. Please forgive me for taking it while you sleep in order to write you this note.
It is imperative that we retrieve the Master Sword and return to Lookout Landing to meet with Lady Purah. The Demon King’s power grows by the day. Even in my construct body I can sense it. The air is ever hazy and the blood moons are more frequent. Soon will be the hour of his ascension and, if we do not act, his victory.
Link, Zelda’s Chosen Protector. She called you that herself. She told me that after the Great Calamity, your obligations towards each other ceased. Hyrule did not need a Princess nor did its Princess need a Knight. Despite this, Zelda recounted, she chose to stay, and so did you.
I know it is difficult to believe, but in my time, Zelda made another choice. One that gave Hyrule its last, best hope. Do not let it be in vain.
PRH | 23:33 Link? Why are you still awake?
LNK | 23:33 Couldn’t sleep.
PRH | 23:33 Okay.
LNK | 23:33 I found the fifth Sage.
PRH | 23:33 Oh! Great, great news. (yawning) Sorry.   How is she? I mean, they. How are they?
LNK | 23:33 You knew about her, didn't you?
PRH | 23:33 In my defence, she contacted me first.  Is she still in the Purah Pad?
LNK | 23:34 We made her a construct body.
PRH | 23:34 Wonderful, I’ll inform the others.  Head back to Lookout Landing and we can discuss next steps—
LNK | 23:34 Purah.
PRH | 23:34 What?
LNK | 23:34 During the Calamity. Did you have a backup plan?
PRH | 23:34 Linky, I had several. You’ll have to be more specific.
LNK | 23:34 I mean for if I failed, a second time.
PRH | 23:35 Of course I did. You were our best hope, but we would have freed our Princess no matter what.
LNK | 23:35 What if– I mean, what would–
PRH | 23:35 What is it?
LNK | 23:35 What would happen to Hyrule, if she wasn’t coming back?
PRH | 23:35 I… I don’t know. We never planned for that. Maybe ask Impa, okay?
LNK | 23:35 She doesn’t have a medallion, you do. Just answer me.
PRH | 23:35 Answer what, exactly? Why are you even… Wait. What else have you found?
LNK | 23:35 Nothing.
PRH | 23:36 Link, if it’s about Zelda we need you to tell us—
LNK | 23:36 I can’t! Not yet! (a pause) I can’t do it.
PRH | 23:36 Do what?
LNK | 23:36 Find her. I can’t… make myself. I can’t.
PRH | 23:36 Look, you’re starting to freak me out a bit. Maybe you should come back to Lookout Landing. You shouldn’t be alone right now.
LNK | 23:37 I’m not alone. Mineru is here.
PRH | 23:37 Okay, Good. Say hi to her for me. Listen, I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m sure you’ll get through… whatever it is. And then please, come back.
LNK | 23:37 Okay. I’ll try.
Connection terminated.
Log date: 10:00. 8th month, 31st day 104AC Location: Flux Construct Island, Faron Sky Archpelago Weather: Cloudy
Two days in Faron with Mineru. Saw Penn at Lakeside Stables. Had lunch, he cooked. Can't remember what he made.
Then north-west. Travellers on the road wary of Mineru. Detoured via Faron Grasslands. Watched Mineru build a balloon-ship. Zonai parts for propulsion and salvaged wood for the fuselage. Fuselage. Where did I learn that word?
Flew the balloon-ship here -- quicker than walking, fewer staring travellers. Dealt with the Flux Construct on the island, tough fight but got it done. That was yesterday I think.
Another geoglyph by Lake Hylia. Glided down to it this morning -- a vision about Rauru, and the Imprisoning War. She tried to warn him, but, what did it matter in the end?
A photograph of Mineru, in her Zonai Construct form, examining the wreckage of the Flux Construct. In the background is the balloon ship. With a wooden hull, three Zonai balloons for buoyancy and a fan for propulsion, it is a well-engineered vessel.
Caption: Checking the ship for damage and then moving on.
Log date: 17:50. 9th month, 1st day 104AC Location: Thyphlo Ruins, North Hyrule Weather: Partly cloudy.
Touched down this morning. Gave the Zonai researcher here a bit of a scare. Kazul – he was trying to solve the riddles in the ruins. Asked Mineru for help but she refused. ‘Didn’t your people build this place?’ She refused again, her voice in my head: You are wasting time.
Does she think I don’t know that? I know there’s a geoglyph nearby, it’s why we came here. But every time I try to go find it… It’s like I can’t breathe. There’s this claw in my chest, its nails digging in. And then I start shaking. I shake and I cry and I… I can’t do it. Physically, I can’t move.
There’s smoke rising from the middle of the ruins. Someone’s made a fire. I came to the waterside to be alone, but now, I’m hungry. Maybe I could cook Kazul some stew, to celebrate the great research paper he’s going to write about this place. And then we have to move on.
Mineru’s construct… It was built to carry a pilot. Maybe if I can’t walk, she can carry me. Better apologise first, for tarrying.
A photograph of the Thyphlo Ruins, the Sheikah SkyView Tower at the centre and the rocky red cliffs of Eldin in the background to the east. The geoglyph painted there is distorted, but looms high on the horizon.
Caption: One more. Just one more.
*beep* Begin recorded voice message:
[ Link, it’s Robbie. Impa is here. I was visiting Kakariko on my way back to Hateno, and saw that she’s also in town for a few days before returning to the Forgotten Temple. Something about needing a book from her library of ancient texts. Anyway I thought you might want to talk to her, update her on your progress. Call us back in the next day or so if you can ]
LNK | 09:10 (click) I’m here, I’m here.
RBB | 09:10 Well, well, he finally picks up. Purah Pad still working?
LNK | 09:10 Yes?
RBB | 09:10 Excellent. Let us know if you need it serviced. I’ll pass you on to Impa. (shuffling noises)
IMP | 09:11 Hello, Master Link.
LNK | 09:11 Lady Impa. You wanted to speak to me?
IMP | 09:11 Purah told me what happened at Hyrule Castle and about the fifth Sage.
LNK | 09:11 Mineru is her name. She’s a Zonai.
IMP | 09:11 Wonderful. And you continue the search for the geoglyphs?
LNK | 09:11 I have.
IMP | 09:11 Do you wish to talk about it?
LNK | 09:11 Not really. Not yet.Is that okay?
IMP | 09:11 It is. I am certain Zelda can manage a few more days. Sometimes we must answer when destiny calls. Other times, it is okay to wait until we are ready.
LNK | 09:12 How do you know–
IMP | 09:12 I am Sheikah. It is my duty to seek truth, and sense it in others.
LNK | 09:12 Right. (a weak laugh) Of course. Lady Impa… during the Calamity, when Zelda and I were gone.
IMP | 09:13 Yes, child?
LNK | 09:13 Did you ever give up hope?
IMP | 09:13 Of course I did. I grieved for you both for many years.
LNK | 09:13 How did you survive it?
IMP | 09:13 For starters I grew very old, which has a handy way of making the years feel short. All I could do until then was continue waking up each morning, in spite of it all. But all the wisdom in the world did not make it any easier.
LNK | 09:13 Right now, it feels impossible.
IMP | 09:13 Yes, but you will keep waking up. You have it in you to survive this, Master Link. For her sake, I believe you can.
LNK | 09:14 (a pause) She has the Master Sword. It travelled through time to find her, she said.
IMP | 09:14 I see. Her divine powers could restore it, of course. But how to return it to you?
LNK | 09:14 Well…there’s one more dragon tear in Akkala. There’s no geoglyph but I know it’s there.
IMP | 09:14 Ah, the final clue. Are you ready, then?
LNK | 09:14 No. But I’m going anyway.
IMP | 09:15 As it must be. Walk with the Goddess’ grace, Master Link. We will be at your side, no matter what happens.
Connection terminated.
Log date: 12:00. 9th month, 3rd day 104AC Location: Rist Peninsula, Akkala Weather: Clear.
Let me paint you a picture. You are you, the Hero of Hyrule, or so they call you. You descend into the depths below Hyrule Castle and find something that did not want to be found, and then–
You wake up, in a quiet room in the sky. You know something’s missing, and it’s not just your arm.
You return to your friends on the surface and promise to help them. But something’s still missing. Everyone promises to look, and they look everywhere, but find nothing.
You search, and search, and search, all the while you know what you’re looking for isn’t there. It’s gone, it always was. You know this, deep down in your soul, but you ignore it. You will realise that you knew when you first saw that dragon above you. You know her so well that even completely changed, she is so familiar.
But you ignore it, because… because…
You never meant to love her this much. She was just an assignment, back in the day. Some sheltered girl to keep safe from herself. She rejected you, challenged you, frustrated you, but… you shared something. She was so alone, just like you were. You developed an understanding, then a friendship, then something more. You laid down your life for her, and she did the same for you.
Then you saved her, or maybe you saved each other, and afterwards never spent more than a day apart. And Goddess, she was so beautiful, so brilliant, so vibrant. You could listen to her talk for hours. Often you did, and you never grew tired of it. You admit now that you fell, hard, and you wanted not just her but a whole life with her. You wanted to marry her. You wanted children. You didn’t know it until this damned moment but you wanted it more than anything in the world.
Now you’re here, in Akkala of all places, making your way towards a sandbank to which she has led you. You know the worst is yet to come, but that you owe it to her to continue. You know every step is taking you closer to the last thing you want to see, but you cannot help it. You have no choice – you will seek the final tear, and you will watch in helpless terror as the one person you wanted to find is lost to you forever.
A photograph of the spiralling Rist Peninsula, the waters ruffled by the wind and sparkling in the sun. The peninsula is coiled around a silver pillar of light, bright enough to be seen even in the middle of the day.
A photograph of a ring of Silent Princesses. They grow tall, strong and radiant, and are clustered around a small shallow in the ground. At the centre, a dragon tear awaits.
A photograph of the Light Dragon, flying low over the sea. From her head streams a blue and golden light like the tail of a comet. Barely visible at the source of the stream is a noble and familiar blade, with its legendary purple hilt and winged cross guard. In the Light Dragon’s open eye, fine droplets can be seen – the remnants of a fallen tear.
Caption: Okay. I’m ready.
Zelda… my brave, brave... How can I ever claim to be the courageous one now? I couldn’t have done what you did. It looked... so terrifying. To transform like that. And painful too. Goddess, I hope it didn’t hurt.
I don’t deserve you, Zelda, I don’t deserve this. The Master Sword has been fully repaired, but it’sstronger. I can feel her power mixed in with yours and made more formidable than ever. The Demon King won’t know what hit him.
I’m going to kill him, Zelda. I’m going to tear him into a thousand pieces. When I am done there will be nothing left. This isn’t reckless rage like before. This is divine vengeance. And I will have it.
I guess you’re all out of tears now. I feel the same way. Reading back through the logs you wouldn’t know it. No one puts in their diary that they spent the whole day crying in a cave! But I did. And now it feels like I have no grief left. Only a dull thud on my chest. Thud, thud, thud.
I wish we could talk. I have so much to tell you. How can I live the rest of my life knowing— No. I don’t want to think about it. I just want to be near you, to sit in your soft hair and float through the sky. If I had my way, I would never leave.
A photograph of the Light Dragon Zelda’s face, taken from what is most likely one of her slender blue horns. There is a small bald patch on her forehead where the Master Sword used to be. Her expression, though mostly blank, seems content.
