sooo, I read A LOT of whumpy LU fics, and I finally had the motivation to draw up my favorite part from one of my fave fics where poor Legend gets drugged and Warriors is the first to get to him.

(Also i sowwy i didnt get every detail exactly how it was in the fic, dis was the best i could do)

I would love to do more of these. But fudge knuckles my motivation is dogshit. that's also why this is super messy T3T

Times that the chain forgot Wolfie is Twilight (Fluff for day 3 of Febuwhump)

Here's some fluff to soothe the soul.

Wind 

Was super tired that day 

Saw Wolfie laying down and flopped on top of the wolf

Sailor was asleep as soon as his head was resting on Wolfies side 

Twilight didn't mind, but he definitely doesn't prefer it 

It becomes a regular occurrence later, much to his chagrin 

(he doesn't really mind that much, he's just keeping up appearances)

 Warriors 

Wakes up from a nightmare 

Ends up cuddling with Wolfie 

Maybe cries a little bit 

Twilight politely doesn't bring it up the next morning 

He does keep a careful eye on Wars the next day and offers silent support 

Four 

He doesn't forget as often as the others might 

But every so often he finds himself idly scratching Wolfies ears 

Red does it most out of the colors 

But they all do it

Twilight doesn't mind 

He low-key enjoys it from time to time

Hyrule 

 Rulie sometimes forgets Twilight is Wolfie

And that Wolfie is a nice wolf 

He has startled in a sleepy state and drawn his sword on Wolfie before 

Twilight takes note to approach slower as Wolfie 

Or just transform back to his hylian form 

He would never hold it against Rulie, he understands that wolves are not the nicest  

Time 

He lives on a ranch

He for sure has been around farm dogs 

When he's super focused/distracted he’ll give Wolfie commands 

The one that got the most laughs was when Wolfie/Twi was trying to snap Time out of his own head

And Time on impulse told Wolfie “No bite.” 

Neither lived that down for a while 

Legend 

He also wakes from a nightmare 

Lege decides that he needs a walk and Wolfie goes with 

He ends up venting at some point 

Twilight never mentions the stuff Legend said that night

But makes sure that Wolfie is there to supervise more late night walks as they seem to help 

Sky

Completely forgets that Twilight is Wolfie 

Baby talk 

Skritches 

Treats 

Praise 

The whole nine yards

Twilight learns to appreciate it, despite the others teasing 

It's kind of nice to get praise just for existing sometime 

Wild 

Wild almost never forgets 

However, if injured or really out of it, he completely forgets 

Wolfie becomes like his companion in his era 

Subject to all the cuddles and silly questions and weepy venting 

Wild has admitted to Wolfie his fear of disappointing Twilight 

Twi always makes sure to reassure Wild when he's more aware of reality

Y’all I’m about to say something that might sound insane, but has Warriors seemed… off? To anyone else?

Like in past updates and comics he’s been very silly goofy. Even when like, awful things are happening, he’s still been kinda smiley or sassy or a bit ridiculous (and i love him for it).

He’s got a strong, loud personality and he’s been very over the top since we met him. But recently in updates he’s seemed kind of down? He’s seemed either really sad or really stressed, he’s been a little snappier than usual, and I know they all just went through something traumatic, but I haven’t noticed any of the others acting off to this extent.

He’s seemed downright SAD in some panels, and annoyed in others. And I’ve also noticed that he seems completely fine in the 2023 monthly arts? Like he was definitely acting normal there.

I’m wondering if something else is going on with him, like yes Twilight almost dying was super traumatic, but I wonder if something else has been going on to make him so sad and off lately.

Listen I could just be crazy and looking way too into it, but i noticed this months ago and its been slowly driving me insane

Remember when I said these two will have it out? Well. Here. I have no idea why I draw Legend so much. He's about to throw a punch here but Captain is absolutely gonna be faster with the arm that's out of frame. There is a version with blood but I thought it was too much. This just a fist fight and deep down (WAY deep down) they don't wanna hurt each other too bad so it isn't THAT violent.

Backstory and Background-less version under the cut.

The way I see it, The Chain ran afoul of some monsters or a dungeon. Legend tried to make a call but was superseded by Captain. Resulting in several Links getting injured - even though he's sure he made the better call. Their dispute at camp seems normal until it doesn't and things spiral quickly until Time intervenes and half the camp has to tear them off each other. Time takes a walk with Captain, Legend sits with Hyrule back at camp where each of them talks about what bothers them about the other and get some hard truths in the process.

Hyrule tells Legend that he goes at the Captain pretty hard for almost no reason and that his beef with guards back in his Hyrule isn't an excuse.

Time tells Captain that its pretty clear he doesn't respect Legend's opinions a all. Despite all his claims to the contrary. And that while his call good, in hindsight, Legend was right.

Things are chilly and awkward at camp for a while, but eventually they come to an understanding. They're too prideful to apologize, but they move past it, careful to take what Time and Hyrule said to heart.
