The 5 Most Common Terpenes
Tumblr media
As the popularity and acceptance of cannabis continue to grow, it's essential to understand the various components that make up this remarkable plant.
One crucial group of compounds found in cannabis are terpenes, aromatic molecules responsible for its distinct scent and taste. In this blog post, we will delve into the five most common terpenes found in cannabis and their potential effects.
Whether you're interested in ordering cannabis online in North Kansas City, Smithville, Warrensburg, or Dexter, or seeking medical marijuana near you, this guide will provide valuable insights for both enthusiasts and patients alike.
Myrcene:
Myrcene is the most abundant terpene found in cannabis, known for its earthy and musky aroma. It can also be found in other plants like hops, mangoes, and lemongrass. Myrcene is believed to have sedative and relaxing effects, making it popular for promoting calmness and alleviating stress.
For those looking to order cannabis online or visit a medical cannabis dispensary in Missouri, products rich in myrcene may provide a soothing experience.
Limonene:
As the name suggests, limonene contributes a citrusy scent to cannabis strains. It is also present in various fruits and plants such as lemons, oranges, and juniper.
Limonene is associated with elevated mood and stress relief. This terpene may offer potential benefits in combating anxiety and depression.
When exploring cannabis delivery near you or searching for a medical marijuana dispensary nearby, consider strains with limonene for a bright and invigorating experience.
Pinene:
Pinene is responsible for the distinctive pine aroma found in certain cannabis strains. It is also found in conifer trees, rosemary, and basil.
Known for its potential bronchodilator and anti-inflammatory properties, pinene may have therapeutic effects for respiratory conditions. If you're looking to order cannabis online or visit a marijuana dispensary, strains rich in pinene might be particularly appealing for their refreshing and clarifying characteristics.
Linalool:
Linalool is recognized for its delicate floral scent and can be found in lavender, jasmine, and coriander.
This terpene is often associated with relaxation and is believed to possess calming properties. Linalool may potentially aid in reducing anxiety and promoting sleep.
For those interested in purchasing medical marijuana for sale online or visiting a medical cannabis online store, exploring strains high in linalool content might be beneficial.
Caryophyllene:
Caryophyllene is responsible for the spicy and peppery aroma found in certain cannabis varieties. It is also present in black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon.
Notably, caryophyllene binds to cannabinoid receptors in the body, making it unique among terpenes. It is thought to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, potentially aiding in pain management.
When searching for cannabis dispensaries or an online weed dispensary, strains with caryophyllene could be worth considering for their potential therapeutic effects.
Conclusion:
Understanding the different terpenes present in cannabis is vital for both recreational users and medical marijuana patients. Whether you're seeking cannabis for recreational purposes or medical cannabis near you, recognizing the terpene profiles of different strains can help guide your choices.
By ordering cannabis online in North Kansas City, Smithville, Warrensburg, or Dexter, you can explore the vast array of cannabis products available and discover the terpenes that resonate with your preferences and needs.

Warning: this post is not gluten free! —— Just because it’s gluten free, doesn’t mean it healthy; gluten free bread is still bread, gluten free brownies are still brownies and gluten free pizza is still pizza, so let’s chill with the marketing puffery —— Many people assume that if a food is gluten-free then it automatically is wheat-free, which is for sure not the case— I also never have issues with wheat when I travel abroad, American wheat however is a totally different game; going gluten free has benefits and eating whole grains offers nutritional benefits —— Spoiler alert, wheat actually offers many health benefits (I’m not talking GMO laden, refined supermarket, sh*t fructose processed wheat, I am talking true, stone ground, unrefined wheat) —— In a 2017 study that looked at over 100,000 participants, without celiac disease, researchers found NO association between long-term dietary gluten consumption and heart disease risk; research findings suggested that non-celiac individuals who avoided gluten may increase their risk of heart disease (due to the potential for reduced consumption of whole grains) —— There is research that shows those with the highest intakes of whole grains including wheat (2-3 servings daily) compared with groups eating the lowest amounts (less than 2 servings daily) were found to have significantly lower rates of heart disease and stroke, development of type 2 diabetes, and deaths from all causes —— Arabinoxylan oligosaccharide is a prebiotic carbohydrate derived from wheat bran that has been shown to stimulate the activity of bifidobacteria in the colon, which can support a healthy gut microbiome —— You can eat more whole grains and -gasp- not get fat or die. True whole grain kernel contains the endosperm, germ, and bran —- The bran’s outer coating contains fiber, while the inner germ contains vitamins, minerals, lignans, and phytochemicals (phenolic acids, polyphenols, and phytosterol compounds) — Gluten really isn’t the villain it’s been made out to be for all of your health problems (excluding those with celiac disease) —— #briannaapproved #grains #bread #carbsarelife #plantcompounds #fiber #wholegrains #notglutenfree (at Peniche, Portugal) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx18sg7luiM/?igshid=10t7ln3j1eggr

#repost @briannadiorio ・・・ Did you know a large amount of ATP must be made by the mitochondria every second of every day because ATP cannot be stored in the body?! In fact, the brain uses 70% of ATP, which can explain the link between mitochondrial dysfunction and neuro-degeneration ——- Mitochondria can take up as much as 25% of the cell volume and cells contain anywhere from 1000 to 2500 mitochondria, with the average cell using 10 billion ATP per day ——- The mitochondria are extremely susceptible to nutrient deficiencies, as well as environmental toxins and excessive oxidative damage; CoQ10, FAD, NADH, Iron, Magnesium, Glutathione, and Vitamins B1, B2 and B3 are all essential nutrients for ATP production ——— Research have found that the main source of oxidative stress in our the cells is “leakage” of oxygen and high-energy electrons from the mitochondria (like while they are going about doing their thing and during normal metabolic functions); this leakage generally increases when the above key nutrients/protective molecules are missing or lacking from the diet/ supplementation, as well as through our “Stress/toxic” bucket being full ——- There are several factors that are associated with increased mitochondria damage, which include aging (accumulated oxidative damage to mtDNA), heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants, OTC drugs/prescription medications and alcohol ——- Mitochondrial supporting nutrients that most everyone could benefit from would include CoQ10, ALA, NAC, Resveratrol and proanthocyanidins (aka all the plant compounds) and even melatonin (or you can go to sleep); there is also research that shows strength training can increase mitochondrial function, so lift some heavy ass weights this week and maybe do a HIIT session or two ——- #briannaapproved #mitochondrialhealth #mitochondria #cellhealth #aintnothingbutapeanut #CoQ10 #ALA #plantcompounds #ATP #energy #energyproduction #bodybuilding #meathead #nutrients #vitamins #minerals #HIIT #naturalenergy #recoveringsuperspaz https://www.instagram.com/p/B1pKRv2h1-a/?igshid=14tpakrgdxpww

Did you know sugar can be hidden in many processed foods (this includes “healthy” foods aka your paleo granola and protein cereal) and actually goes by over 60 different names on food labels!? ——— Research has shown that stress can affect your food preferences, making you crave foods high in sugar, fats or both, as chronic stress has been shown to increase appetite (by raising your ghrelin levels) ——- You should think twice before you give into your sugar cravings (especially for artificial/fake sugars) and look into supporting your neurotransmitter health ——- Serotonin is actually released after you eat carbohydrates (sugars and starches included), which can enhance feelings of calmness and support positive moods ______ High levels of serotonin (which we know 90% is made in your gut) can help control appetite levels, control cravings and promote feelings of calmness, while dopamine and epinephrine (which are released when we eat sugary foods) can enhance mental concentration and alertness ——- Over 7,000 side effects were reported to the FDA between 1982 and 1995 from aspartame which included anxiety, depression, attention disorders, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s ______ Various negative neurological side effects have been linked to sucralose which include anxiety, depression, brain fog, headaches and migraines ——— A study of over 250,000 soda drinkers found that beverages sweetened with aspartame, saccharin, or Splenda increased the likelihood of depression by 31% ——- Focus on balancing your blood sugar levels, optimizing quality sleep, getting in some interval training/movement and reducing ALL forms of physical/mental/emotional/chemical stress, all of which can negatively affect your neurotransmitter balance and affect cravings ——- Don’t forget to work on reducing oxidative damage through increasing your intake of #plantcompounds, B vitamins and Vitamin D as well as keeping your micronutrients and minerals in check, supporting all detoxification pathways, balancing inflammation and getting back to the basics of prioritizing whole, real foods _____ #briannaapproved #recoveringsuperspaz #dailyDchallenge #inflammation #cortisol #stress #sugar #cravings (at F45 Training Goldenwest) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bowv1G3BSQq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1kuj55af18oox

Spoiler alert …it’s ok to get regular sick these days. The immune system is precisely that, a complicated, intricate, enormous system with hundreds of different moving parts. For starters, the immune system has two main parts: innate immunity and adaptive immunity We have all different kinds of immune cells and organs, much like a big company has many different jobs (there is a CEO, a VP, a marketing department ….you get the point) which are called on during different types of exposure, duration and severity to germs/bacteria and pathogens (heck, the immune system is even working when all things seem “fine” as), so there really isn’t one supplement/herb that can “boost” or “fix” your immune system. Most people don’t have weak immune system, however, some people do have impaired immune systems (think co-morbidities, those with genetic disorders, autoimmune issues, cancer), so there are ways to optimize and modulate the immune response, such as ensuring you have sufficient Vitamin D levels, giving your body adequate nutrients such as Vitamins A, C, E, Zin and Selenium to support immunity, drinking water, getting enough rest/sleep/movement (in the right ratio aka not over doing any one area) and always assessing your stress and inflammation buckets (how full/balanced are they?). 🤓Extra credit: don’t forget about acupuncture, cupping and cutting out pro inflammatory people and thoughts ! #briannaapproved #nutritionist #herbalist #herbs #vitamins #sleep #plantcompounds #bigasssalad #neuroscience #stress #cortisol #balance #dailyD #cam #immune #holistichealth #biohacking #functionalmedicine #tcm #PhDBri #emotionalhealth #emotionalintelligence #vitamin #minerals #antioxidants #integrativemedicine (at Point Pleasant, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW6W6gYJ3Y6/?utm_medium=tumblr

Emotions are information! The more information we have, the more we can consciously chose to respond appropriately (as opposed to just reacting). We aren’t looking to have sunshine beaming out of our bodies 24/7 however, we also aren’t looking to avoid “bad” / uncomfortable / less popular emotions (like being sad, anxious or even tired) The absence of emotional distress does not necessarily equate to general happiness, vitality or overall emotional well being. Emotions play one of the most integral roles in our time here on this planet and we need them to survive. Evolutionarily speaking, emotions contribute to the ability to survive. For example, fear would trigger an immediate‘fight or flight’ response to allow someone to escape a dangerous situation. 🤓🤓Homework Assignment! Figure out what information has your body given you that you have not been listening to? Where have your misinterpreted information (symptoms)? What area of your health can you start paying attention to a bit more ? #briannaapproved #holistichealth #functionalmedicine #vitaminD #plantcompounds #antioxidants #herbs #mentalhealth #emotionalintelligence #neuroscience #recoveringsuperspaz #healing #wellness #PhDBri #immunesupport #immunesystem (at Point Pleasant, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVYPR5nLm9M/?utm_medium=tumblr

This is why we can’t just “boost” the immune system 🤦🏼‍♀️ “Like a tight rope walker, a healthy immune system is constantly doing a balancing act. What are some red flags in your immune relationship? Are you boozing too much? Not getting enough sleep? Maybe over indulging in foods that can add to your inflammation bucket? The goal with any relationship should be to build a solid foundation or to fortify! We should be focusing on fortifying the immune system, which means to protect, to strengthen, to support and to reinforce! Your immune system is an expression of the relationship between your body and everything in its environment (including your thoughts, “toxins”, air we breath, water we drink, people we allow in our lives, what we put on our skin, nutrients we ingest etc.) Just as we rarely like someone for only one or two attributes (they funny, they are ambitious etc), rarely it is the case that just one or two herbs is going to change a person’s health status….it’s cumulative and the the little things that add up! We like combinations of things in people and generally we end up liking the WHOLE person, sometimes we even overlook minor flaws from time to time, which is how we can approach immunity and wellness…BIG PICTURE HEALTH and AVERAGES! We want to look at the WHOLE person….our diet, our sleep, our stress, our lifestyle, our gym habits, our ability to have balance, while understanding that it is okay to overlook a few flaws from time to time (maybe you haven’t bene sleeping well lately, maybe you have acute stress in your life, maybe you just need a break from everything and want to loosen up on your spaz tendencies when it comes to your diet)….give yourself permission to be a human and give yourself some wiggle room to work on building a healthy relationship with your immune system #briannaapproved #immunesupport #immunehealth #holistichealth #herbs #plantmedicine #vitamins #minerals #plantcompounds #antioxidants #DailyD #inflammation #sleep #stress #anxiety #recoveringsuperspaz #PhDBri #botanicalBri (at Seaside Park, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRlym-ADijU/?utm_medium=tumblr

As we know, the absence of emotional distress does not necessarily equate to general happiness, vitality or overall emotional well being. Emotions play one of the most integral roles in our time here on this planet and we need them to survive. Evolutionarily speaking, emotions contribute to the ability to survive. For example, fear would trigger an immediate‘fight or flight’ response to allow someone to escape a dangerous situation. Evidence suggests that emotional factors, (such as optimism and gratitude, the quality of your relationships, having a purpose in life etc. ) can be predictors of physical health…. Or to put it simply, emotional factors have a profound impact on health and longevity! We already know all about the mind body connection (check out episode 4 of the podcast where I talk about PNI) and how it can directly impact your immune system, however, let’s remember that ALL emotions teaches us to pay attention. Emotions are biological signal that nudges you in in the direction which you need to go or that will result in beneficial change, especially when it comes to your overall health! “The shift from a focus on pathology to potential, from illness to wellness, and from treatment to prevention lies at the foundation of integrative medicine.” Nerd Alert 🤓: The limbic system is the set structures in the brain that plays an important role in emotional regulation (as well as regulation of autonomic and hormone function in response to emotional stimuli), which is why we can physically feel emotions. It is made up of 4 main parts: the thalamus, the amygdala, the hippocampus and the hypothalamus. 🤓🤓Homework Assignment! How are you supporting your emotional health this week ?! What can you add into your wellness routine to work on your emotional immune system ? #briannaapproved #holistichealth #functionalmedicine #vitaminD #plantcompounds #antioxidants #herbs #mentalhealth #emotionalintelligence #neuroscience #recoveringsuperspaz #healing #wellness #PhDBri #immunesupport #immunesystem (at Ocean Grove, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQvgwq-DPa3/?utm_medium=tumblr

Sometimes healing is a group effort (including complementary and alternative healing modalties) however, many times good health is your own personal responsibility. The best time to start taking herbs, supplements, medications etc. is BEFORE there is a serious problem(s) and dis-ease in the body, however, healing can happen at any time! Believe it or not, the body loves to feel good, it just often does it at our own hormonal, cellular and metabolic expense. Generally, this decline of health (or increased expression of imbalances and dysfunction) is expressed through symptoms in the body, and as we know, our body is always talking to us, we just need to listen! #briannaapproved #holistichealth #functionalmedicine #vitaminD #plantcompounds #antioxidants #herbs #mentalhealth #emotionalintelligence #neuroscience #recoveringsuperspaz #healing #wellness #PhDBri #immunesupport #immunesystem (at Pt Pleasant Beach Nj) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQdt8xXDnr6/?utm_medium=tumblr

🤓Weekend homework: Ask yourself what preventative measures am I taking NOW to support my future health ? What area do you need to check in with and show some more love ? Physical, mental, emotional and or cellular cellular health …or maybe finding balance between all areas in general “Health is the ability of an organism to respond appropriately to a wide variety of challenges in a way that insures maintaining equilibrium and integrity”… aka we can’t keep living in a bubble, living in fear, or even living in always trying to catch back up mode A healthy life is meant to add enjoyment and quality to your years here on this universe… are you striving or suffering ? FYI healing can happen at any time, however, preventative medicine might give you a leg up in the process #briannaapproved #holistichealth #functionalmedicine #vitaminD #plantcompounds #antioxidants #herbs #mentalhealth #emotionalintelligence #neuroscience #recoveringsuperspaz #healing #wellness #PhDBri #immunesupport #immunesystem (at Ocean Grove, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQT5AQUjTlI/?utm_medium=tumblr
