And her relationship with Morrigan…..i love valenzo but gwen and morrigan are….Like wow. She mellows out into the aloof prickly bestie they all need. But U still never know what she’s thinking and if she’ll backhand u or not.

(NOTE: sorry if this becomes a vent session, mira)

(spoiler: it did)

My therapist used to say how important it is for us to name the schemas, feelings or/ and behaviors that weren't actually healthy so we could separate ourselves from those bad thoughts/lines of thinking. That helps understanding they are one way of answering the stressful scenarios instead of "the only way".

So, when I got the bpd diagnosis, she applied the Jeffrey Young's schema test (I'm a sucker for it tbh) so we could work on those traits. One of the most strong ones was Abandonment (which was obvious from bpd) and she asked me to name it. I couldn't go up with any names but I could clearly imagine this angry hurt child. It helps me to understand that sometimes what I'm feeling comes from her, from bpd and fear of abandonment, which is only a part of me and not the definition of uva herself.

It also helps me to not get flooded with the bad emotions and gives me some distance that helps to analyze the situation with a more rational perspective instead of getting drowned in resentment. Imagine her, imagining border, being sad and feeling alone, makes me wanna calm myself down and help her. Almost like helping myself as a kid. Being hero I longed to see.

(She's super honest too, like, brutal chaotic honest)

So yeah, an oc but my personal friend. She's a kid that floats around like a spirit, has an angry face, don't trust people and will leave people behind before they leave her. She can't stand the feeling of abandonment and has anger issues. Black eyes, pigtails, black hair with bangs and she's just trying to protect herself from the scary world tbf. Border can be mad sometimes but she just needs to feel safe and a cozy hug.

(BTW, the therapist idea was for me to give it a name to the schema and actually tell it to shut up. Like: "hey you, shoosh, get lost, I don't wanna hear this negativity cause I'm okay and things are not as bad as you're saying", BUT I COULDN'T DO IT. I WANNA ACTUALLY HELP HER, HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO SAY SHUT UP AND BE RUDE??)

For once I'm trying to enjoy myself, having some alone time without feeling alone and she helps me with that too. I'm loving making picrews of her! So fun!

I wanted to let you know that I am super SUPER excited for your recom picrew 😩 it looks beautiful already!! I've got two questions. I wanted to ask how difficult the process is for creating one, I've thought of trying to make a na'vi one myself. Is it complicated with all the layers and all of that? Yeah, gotta be honest, it's a massive bitch.

Mostly the issue that is costing me a ton of time is the stripes. Picrew does not surpport blending modes. You only upload normal PNG files. Because of that, I can't have a single stripe pattern for every skin colour.

No : I must export as many stripe colours as I have skin colours. And the stripes MUST match the colour of the ears for better transition... AND there are 3 types of faces in what I've done, that means that for EACH design of stripe, I need to export 3 shapes x 4 colours.

Another issue has been the noses. Entirely my fault mind you... But hiding part of the eye with broad noses, like here :

Meant I needed to have painting INSIDE some of the noses. Which I did on a single file. And uploaded. And matched to skin colour so you don't see my ugly patching up job.

But the nose needs to be on top of the eyes... The stripes must be under the eyes and on top of the nose... Which can't happen... So I have two options, and I've opted for redoing all my stripes better... And then realised fixing the noses instead would be so much easier.

I do wanna cry a little sometimes lol

But they look better now. I have 3 styles of stripes and I want to do 3 or 4 more, because I really love striping and it makes characters really unique. Next up is potentially eye colour (if y'all suck my metaphorical dick hard enough because what A PAIN).

Sanhi/Tanhi whichever spelling it is, is giving me grief and I'm looking for a CSP brush that would sort of automate it for me.

It's a LOT of tedium. Drawing is easy and has been very fun! I was dreading making the hairstyles and get ups for Na'vi, but I think I'll revisit the picrew itself later and add them as new options rather than making a separate one.

File uploading on the website is such a bitch. Here's the tutorial I use btw. I also use a firefox add on to auto translate the page.

Will I do more? Definitely. In time. I lost the one job that pays for my food, so was thinking of opening a few comms and focus on that rather than just faffing about, but I'll definitely be returning to picrew, either for more Na'vi stuff or simply to try my hand at some other style. I'd love to see more people do their own Na'vi picrews!!

I made this one simply because the options are so limited!! There's two and one is full bodied and chibi. That's nice but doesn't scratch my pfp or OC needs. Feel free to make more, I'd love to play with it!!

Daily worship

First for me daily = as often as i can so it can be everyday to once a week. Since i work with multiple deities i end up letting them chosing a day of the week (one chosed 2) so im less lost on what to do. Demons favor action over devotion while deities like both, i end up developping something with each of them but there are things i do for everyone : i started by picking one card for each of them, meditation (15 minutes or more) drawing them, using colors associated with them (even for makeup) or just draw some little doodle of them, watching or reading stuff that remind me of them or are about them same with music i got songs that i associated with them. Now those specific to each :

Léviathan : on monday and thursday, i drink tea on my altar and share it with him (i drink half and let the mug for him or i put some of the liquid in his chalice or a cup) draw/paint with blue ink or put blue makeup since he really enjoy art

Asmodeus : on tuesday, i light his candle as long as i stay in the same room as his altar, sport (i really try💀) wear his necklace the whole day (and even other) he does like a 3 card spread with the deck i gave him

Seth : on saturday, it's the whole day for him but he did enjoy daily prayer but i mostly do them in my mind while meditating or taking action. He also enjoy sport or just me moving outside it can also be a video game as long as it involve some action ! He enjoys food especialy snacks so he got some often

There is the special case of Ra where i just wear his necklace during sunday

Altar

I know we all got in mind big fancy altar that take half of a room but in the end an altar can be a little wood box or even a shoe box ! If it's an altar for a deity the most important thing to have is a representation of them and it can be very discreet for exemple if the deity is associated with crows you can just buy a crow plush or figure even an object with one on it, if they are associated with roses then buy a bouquet and let them dry (or take them in the wild). Hell it can even be a paper with their name on it or a drawing, phone background ! I even saw a picrew to make your custom altar. I could suggest a candle but idk if your mom will be ok with it, same with encens you can just say you like the smell and it's something associated with a being. I think on Tumblr it's called "closet altar" or "altar box" you can find a lot of exemple

Tell us about your D&D character:

okay so I have 3: Suna, Tatsumi and Aria, but I'm gonna talk about Suna and Tatsu (pics in that order, courtesy of this picrew) both of them are from a kimetsu no yaiba/demon slayer inspired campaign (which is currently on a hiatus that has lasted over 6 months, but should return shortly!!)

so, first we have the user of the water breathing technique suna, the girl that was born to be the perfect demon slayer. she's known about the existence of demons ever since she can remember, both of her parent being demon slayers and wanting her to be ready to face the world they live in. she trained all her life to join her parents, her free time being spent with the kid next door (which sets up the best and angstiest childhood friends to lovers storyline ever). she used to be really cheerful and welcoming, and it's only after her parents disappear that she closes herself off, the only 2 people able to get to her being the boy next door (kyojuro rengoku) and her dad's best friend, who took her in and finished her training. throughout the campaign she meets both naru and haru her teammates, developing different relationships with both of them, but caring about them in her own weird way. as time passes their missions start getting more dangerous until the inevitable happens and one of them died, haru, she managed to survive and closed herself once more due to the pain and guilt, pushing yasuhiro (the demon slayer sent to fill haru's place) away and mistreating him. then she lost the love of her life and once again she blamed herself for not being good enough to save those she cares about, so she spends all her time training eventually developing her own fighting style, and sacrificing herself to save both naru and yasuhiro.

then there's tatsumi, the character I created in case suna died. she's the polar opposite of suna. tatsumi didn't learn about the existence of demons until she received a letter from her brother yuuji, in which he apologized for keeping demons a secret from her and their family. determined to find her brother she decided to join the demon slayers. she became a user of the mist breathing technique, learning quickly and soon enough becoming a demon slayer herself, eventually catching the attention of the mist hashira himself, tokito, who took her under his wing so she would eventually become his successor if anything happened to him. due to the trust placed in her she was allowed to go on solo missions, which meant she could secretly look for yuuji. it was only after she came back from a mission that she was informed she would be joining a squad, taking the place of a recently deceased woman, only to find out one of the 2 remaining members had decided to leave the organization, leaving only her and yasuhiro in the team. tbh there's not a lot about tatsumi story wise because of the hiatus, but she's a literal ray of sunshine, doing everything to remain positive and lift the party's mood because she promised herself (and her brother) that she would never stop smiling, no matter how hard things got.

with my bestie (the player behind haru and yasuhiro) we have actually worked on a lot of different AU's for the characters, my personal favorite being the kpop au!! the ship dynamics are amazing !! (+ everyone is alive)

OKAY SO RILEY AND I HAVE OUR OWN PARTY FOR IN STARS AND TIME, OUR OCS. This should require knowledge of In Stars and Time but enjoy anyways if you want!!! Spoilers will be in another post bc this is LONG

So we have an OC for every ‘role’. But tbh we don’t have much stuff for the first three characters.

The maiden is an OC named Alice (she/her, paper and rock type), who is similar to Mirabelle. Lore to be planned. (Riley made Picrew)

The defender is an OC named Elvira (she/her, paper type) who is similar to Isabeau. She is more insecure, though, and very ‘go with the flow’. Lore to be planned. (Riley made Picrew)

The kiddo is named Andrea, but prefers Andi (they/them, no type bc they don’t fight). They are very mischievous and loves teasing others. Deep down they’re not doing that great, though. They struggle to show emotions. They are in charge of the snacks!! Lore to be planned. (Riley made Picrew)

Ok time for the OCs we actually put a lot of time into!!

Riley’s takes the role of our time looping traveler and protagonist, Cyrus (he/they, scissors type). Cyrus is very playful and joking, and on the surface they don’t seem that bright. However, he’s quite smart. But it is often overshadowed by memory issues and forgetfulness. He has a lot of anxiety, though it usually doesn’t show, but sometimes it will bubble over into a panic attack.

Cyrus doesn’t remember his past, but perhaps it’s just his bad memory? He met the group while wandering aimlessly, where he was cornered by two Sadnesses. They helped him, and then he joined the group.

He is the fastest of the group, with a decently high attack and low defense. They primarily use a scythe to attack. They are also the one stuck in the time loops.

Our researcher is named Orion (he/him, rock type), and is my OC! Orion is mostly neutral, but for some reason he has a STRONG hatred to Cyrus, to the point of physical violence. When questioned about it, he will constantly dodge the question. Often, Elvira has to pull Orion away.

Generally, Orion seems quite neutral, though he tends to look angry. But he is decently nice, but he keeps an emotional distance from the others.

He is often quiet, and may get absorbed into his thoughts and wander off. He is also quite competitive, to the point of seeming cocky. However, when paired with his anxiety and imposter syndrome, it can be quite comedic as his personality may flip from cocky to anxious.

He is an alchemist, originally running a potions shop in Dormont. However, when the King froze the castle, he lost a lot of business (since yknow. All his customers were frozen). He spent his time foraging instead, which is when he met the group.

Orion has a decently good speed with a great defense. Despite being on the weaker side, he is great at picking up new skills and can make tonics to assist the group.

One of his prominent crafts is that he can create a potion mid battle. It takes a bit of time, but it is very helpful mid fight. Another craft he has is that he can copy someone else’s attack, but it has a long cooldown and only works on attacks (not buffs).

One of his notable memories is that when he is about to be K.Oed or frozen, he will take some rocks from his pockets and throw them, doing a bit of damage before going out/being frozen. (Ft some art I made)

The reason behind Orion’s hostility isn’t just random. It turns out, Cyrus is actually the Kings son. He hates his father, and joins the party to protect the party from him. During his travels and foraging, Orion had heard about the King having a son, and Cyrus fit the description he was given perfectly. However, he doesn’t want to tell the group until he gets solid proof, hence him dodging the question.

Let's meet those OCs!

Before we begin: I must admit to being generally anti-OC in my reading and writing. It's not personal, it's just that I came to read about a certain set of characters and their relationships with each other, not some strange character I've never heard of before. However, I feel like readers can tell when something is half-hearted, so I tried my best to use the OCs unapologetically and to not brush over them in the narration.

Let's begin

Jayce & Janiyah (he/him & she/her)

Janiyah is the older sister, slightly younger than Hassel. I felt bad for not giving her more of a personality, but her whole deal is kind of that she diminishes herself in service of the clan. She's supposed to represent Hassel's "bad ending," so to speak.

Jayce and Janiyah are both Blasian, or the Pokémon equivalent, and I based Jayce's personality in particular on the "Vancouver Asian" archetype— in love with the city, always getting bubble tea, avid mallwalker.

Most Picrew are not super compatible with wacky Pokémon character design, but I pictured them both wearing brighter colors and bolder patterns— Janiyah in particular wears a lot of orange and red.

NOTE: I got extremely lost in the "let characters of color have brown eyes, dammit" sauce and kind of forgot that making every single dark-skinned character have dark hair and dark eyes in a world where odd-colored eyes and hair are totally normal might circle back around to having weird implications. Fanfic is not representation, but I just wanted to point out that I knowwww I know okay I know.

Asahi (they/them)

Asahi is the most "nothing" of my OCs; essentially a lazy self-insert to imply more life in the Arts District. They were originally called "Ace," which is a placeholder name I use online, and they look almost exactly like me at age 19 or so. I changed their name because I decided having a character named "Jayce" and a character named "Ace" was unbearably Dr Seuss for a serious fic. Them saying "aces" to Hassel is a shoutout to their original name.

Brenna (she/her/any)

For having such a simple design, it was really hard to find a Picrew that captured the entirety of her essence. She has true brown hair and yellow eyes, for reference.

I made a separate post about her that you might be able to dig up, but the essentials are thus: she's a big ol' powerdyke, she LOVES clowning, and she absolutely despises Geeta

NOTE: Brenna's feelings are not a secret commentary on my own feelings for Geeta. I ADORE her. We shall have a summer wedding.

Joel (he/they)

I also couldn't find a satisfactory Picrew for Joel. He's a bit older than this image would imply and he ONLY ever wears his conductor's cap.

I did my best as an allistic to write him as autistic. He's an electrician and his special interest is model trains (stereotypical, yes, but that's actually the result of me projecting my own love of model trains onto him! I fucking love model trains).

Taiho (he/him)

Taiho is a young sumo instructor from Kanto. I didn't spend any more time on him than the others, but his lore just popped into my head, so he has slightly more backstory.

Taiho's dream was always to open his own sumo school and bring the art to as many people as possible. Geeta knew him previously and, when she became Champion, recruited him with the promise of helping secure a grant to open up a sumo school in Paldea.

Lennon (she/her)

Don't let the Picrews fool you, Lennon was a silver-haired anime girl from day one. Picture it in a gradient from silver to black, the silver gradually overtaking the tips as she got older.

Lennon is another placeholder name I use online. Tbh she and Brenna are tied for my favorite OCs.

Stan (any pronouns)

Stan is That Cool Librarian. We all know one. That's all I got.

NOTE: You may have noticed a discrepancy in the pronouns listed vs the pronouns used in the fic and I'm gonna be sooo honest with you: a bitch was just tired. My first pronouns struggle was trying to figure out if I should use "he" or "it" on Gyarados and by the time I got that worked out I was simply done. So everyone gets one unambiguous pronoun and that's IT.

And just like previous post, let's talk about my OC here aka Shimizu Akari :D

Shimizu Akari (志水 朱里) is a college student in Mikado and just recently registered as one of operators in Border (approximately already half a year starting from the current timeline/episode 1 World Trigger). Akari actually from Mikado but during first invasion she moved to another city (hasn't decided where) with her family, then came back again after Mikado under Border's control (approximately 2 years after Border established).

She likes to cook (it's her specialty), liking cute things, and spicy foods. Her favorite drink is matcha. She's now 23 years old with 155 cm, and was born on January 3rd. If she found someone hasn't eaten yet, she'd offer them her food/will cook something for them. Overall, she's a kind, cheerful, loving person who likes to talk and make friends. However, despite of that, she often feels panic and nervous (so like, nevous but she got the spirit—she often regret her decision later) and can cry easily whenever things getting out of her hands. She often blushes everytime she gets near Azuma due thinking he's cool (this trait developed after they made their romantic relationship official).

In her head, people can be categorize as 4 types; cool (mostly because hardworking and look like adult), cute (mostly because they're younger than her or having similarities with her), cute and cool (usually younger/having similarities with her, but also look hardworking), and scary (she can't read those people and feel nervous around them).

She's the only child in her family and her family (used to?) quite wealthy (thus why her family can afford to moved to another city). However, after moved her parent got absorbed in their works as their once again began to start a new business (as to recompense their lost during 1st invasion). At this time, Akari started to feel lonely since her parent kept busy and rarely came home. They also barely communicate to each other even until she's 23.

In high school, she used to keep quiet and barely response everytime people trying to reach up to her. In fact, she's actually nervous since she didn't really know how to communicate properly (mostly because her cold relationship with her parent) and it increasing her loneliness. During this time, she met Nakano Tsubaki (another my Watori OC) and became friend with her—but their relationship isn't really close despite Tsubaki kinda decreasing Akari's loneliness. (I also think she'd began to learn cooking during this time—because nobody came home and she really miss noises whenever someone come back, so then she began to cook to "having noise" around her.)

When her family finally came back to Mikado (approximately at the same time when she just graduated from high school, thus why she's now studying in Mikado Public College). She met Inukai Kanade and Izumi Eiko (who in the same age as her) and quickly became friend with them (this is the turning point she finally opened herself to others). She also met with Azuma Haruaki here and became his "friend". That was the beginning of their relationship.

AzuAka (short ver from Azuma Haruaki x Shimizu Akari) is my first (yeah, tbh I didn't expect to have 2 yumeships here) yumeship in World Trigger. This ship actually came because I need more sugar in my ships and all my watori otps have angst moment (well) (cough). Thus why, this ship born to satisfy my sugar need.

I often use ⛺🏮 emojis to portray them; since Azuma likes camping and Akari has 'vermillion' (Aka) in her name (tbh, I didn't know which emoji fits her, then I want her have japan-thing-vibe, and the only option I have is the lantern, so here we are).

In short, their dynamic is like: sunshine x sunshine protector; calm bf x cheerful gf; talkative gf x listen bf; territorial cat x clingy rabbit; popular bf x (secretly kinda) popular gf (who didn't think she's popular); nervous all the time gf x calm bf; (secretly) flirty bf x panicking all the time gf; slow burn; (mutual) pining (probably?); height gap couple (31 cm height gap); age gap couple (2 years); he fell first, she fell harder.

At first, Akari used to feel normal in front of him (because she thought they're friends). She didn't feel nervous at all since Azuma was kind and calm (she thinks he's cool! like a proper adult!). Little did she know, he didn't feel the same (he thinks she's cute—just like a man toward a woman) and actually trying to spend more time with her (like eating lunch together (and she finally made him bento too, this was before they're going out), telling her that he needs 'help' to choose something to buy for his 'acquaintance', etc)—but she never noticed those were his move.

She finally realized that after she's gotten into rumours that they're dating. When she told Azuma about it, she suggested that they should "keep a distance until the rumours calm". At that time, Azuma suggested another thing; announcing that they're "going out together"—and it's just "status on the paper" but actually they're still "friends", so the rumours will calm by itself and they can be "friends" again. [Spoiler: they never did]

And so, it was beginning of their (romantic) relationship. They just flowed with it, felt compatible and got comfort, and just ... well, lovers (spoiler: now a proper one). Since it's Akari's first romantic relationship, she often got nervous and her admiration soon followed by another feelings—Azuma knew and he probably enjoyed her reactions toward him.

Some more sketches, this time it's the trouble trio, (Clara, Clario and Finder) as Morbians. Finder is some kind of genetically altered echidna with a metal device implanted in her skull brain for tracking down whatever her maker wanted her to find prior her escape, Clario and Clara are both genetically modified cats made by the same person and can summon weapons similar to sonic underground instrument/weapon summoning via Clara's gun and Clarios sword.

Picrew references of color above, Finder has the Crowesh color scheme but more seamless with more of the design from Danz. Clara and Clario are none identical twins, Clario lost his wings during development and Clara her tail hence her metal tail in drawing and his lack of wings he also later loses his arm. They're probably technically like Sphinxes tbh.

Just watched the fruits basket episode, a part of me internally died when I saw the ground crumble and her fall ;-;. And yay, kiss scene, though idk if tohru’s actually going to remember it after she wakes up. Akito did a complete 180 in this ep, but it wasn’t out of place at all. Just shows how great the writing of this show is. Brb, going to cry for the next ten minutes

ok ok here’s the thing

While I’m stoked that Ajax’s getting a rerun again(major childe simp here who lost the 50/50 twice ;-;), i’m so worried that they’re going to do something horrible to him.

SPOILERS

Literally they killed off their first character Signora, like there’s no way she’s coming back based on how they showed the scene. Not to mention it’s canon now that Delusions cause accelerated aging and suck life force energy? Like people literally died using these, and while I could argue that there’s just a difference between Ajax and these other people just because Childe’s been trained with his and might have some sort of way to stop or limit the effects(not completely tho, as we’ve seen from his story quest).

So yeah, I’m really just hoping this is Mihoyo being biased for once or putting him there since his first few banners were overshadowed by the archons causing him to lose sales.

Because if he gets killed off, fuck this game lol

But then again, Kazuha also had a bunch of death flags but he’s fine? I think all playable characters should be fine hopefully, otherwise it makes no sense lol

ok, i was really confused by the ending of the latest story quest. While i do appreciate smug albedo, that last scene in mondstat, was that really him? or was it another subject? Three things that make me think this:

1) Why would Albedo joke about the gardener thing when that was a serious moment traveler and him were having? In the traveler’s canon thoughts itself, they were really confused because Albedo made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal anymore.

2) The star shape on his neck wasn’t there originally, but it was suddenly there? Maybe Subject 2 learned abt the one thing Traveler could use to differentiate between the real Albedo and imposter and then replicated that as well. We know that Subject 2 was highly intelligent as well so I could definitely see that as being a possibility.

3) The smugness in general. Look, I love it when characters are being smug, but it’s so out of character for Albedo. Subject 2 on the other hand, was way more cheerful and tbh matches the Albedo we saw at Mondstat.

So all i’m saying is, I really don’t think that’s Albedo, but I might be overthinking all of this ahaha. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what happens with that storyline. Other than that, AHHHHH we got so much Albedo content, very happy rn :DD This was definitely one of my favorite events for sure.
