come, my sweet, and let me hold you on the way up. this road was paved an age ago, and the stone has cracked. the grasses underneath their blanket are ripe for their bloom, and your mother has started singing again.
let me wind gold into your hair and cold into your breath. i would bleach your tunic and take from your feet the sandals worn soft with use. my mouth against the hollow of your throat, your hair a spill across my chest; come lay on my shoulders the weight of this journey.
i will help you along, if you let me.
little godling, little would-be priestess, little gem; won't you take matrimony's hand on the long walk that devastated Orpheus? spring is budding, and your mother is waiting.
in six months, the leaves will fall again.

Esoteric+Divine Composite: Suletta
Tumblr media
Suletta's position as an amalgamation/twist on Miranda and Caliban is obvious along with Utena. But what are some of the lesser known? She's a character shaped with symbology ranging from norse and greek myth to alchemy. Fenrisulfr, Hercules, Hermes/Mercury, and the Red King.
Fenrir
I've already broken this down a bit in a previous analysis, and in light of the finale, she finally fulfills the Ragnarok prophecy.
The freed wolf who eclipses the 'sun', heralding an end to the Gods(Benerit and SAL)
Tumblr media
And her method of devouring Odin Miorine is consuming her in holy matrimony as the new cycle of the world is born.
Tumblr media
Hercules
This one might be a surprise, but it's true. Suletta is undeniably coded with Heracles/Hercules symbolism, beginning with his 12 labors. In the very first episode of GWitch, she slew the invincible Nemean Lion and 'skinned' his coat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And her final labor is the subjugation of Cerberus, the multi-headed dog of the underworld.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take note, before Hercules descends and encounters Cerberus, he's inducted into the cult of Demeter and Persephone. Notrette as Anesidora is revealed to be our Demeter, chthonic goddess of agriculture. And prior to this battle, Suletta speaks with the Persephone of our tale, inducting her within the mysteries.
You can draw other parallels between the various herculean labors and Suletta's duels. Such as the Grassley battles echoing that of the Hydra or Elan/Peil as the man-eating Stymphalian birds.
Suletta's godlike strength suddenly doesn't seem like an accident, does it?
Tumblr media
So why was this done, other than for fun symbolism? The answer all boils down to Hermeticism, as it often seems to. Specifically this painting of Hercules, called Allegory of Wisdom and Strength
Tumblr media
I'm unsure if it's common to interpret this image as another symbol of As Above, So Below but it's clear to me Okouchi has. We have Hercules focused on earthly matters while the greek personification of wisdom, Sophia, is focused heavenward. The light of enlightenment crowns her brow. Both are in frame and not in conflict; As Above, So Below. Coincidentally (or not) Sophia is one possible ciphered translation for Baphomet; a blatant esoteric symbol of perfect unity.
Mercury/Hermes
This is of course obvious considering its in her name, but there's one mythological parallel I want to highlight. The tale of Persephone/Kore. It was Hermes who descended into the underworld and retrieved the 'defiled' Persephone, escorting her safely above and reuniting her with her mother
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Suddenly, Shaddiq's dramatic comment about Miorine's defilement doesn't seem so off-color. They were intentionally harking to Persephone Mio who was taken by Hades, Prospera here.
The Red King
I've already discussed this a bit here, but let's recap. Suletta is derived from Soletta. Her signifying colors are Red and Gold as Holder, both key to the Red King. She was 'eaten' by a lion (aqua regia solution) before being reborn, her metaphorical sun blackened with despair (dissolving).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of it culminating into a Great Work, banishing gundams, defeating SAL, and saving Eri; her Filius philosophorum (Philosopher's Child) All miracles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh and finally married her White Queen ofc, though their union was cemented with a tomato by then. In GWitch's version of Theogony Hermes wed Persephone, accomplished the 12 herculean labors, created a philosopher's stone, and completed Ragnarok
Note: Considering the proper name of Fenrir, Fenrisulfr, Okouchi might've been trying to be cute. Sulfur girl indeed

Treehouse Ask: I hope you are doing well this holiday season? My ask regards Morpheus' proposal of marriage to Reader. How does she feel about becoming his wife? She's currently adjusting to becoming his queen, but how does she feel about the idea of tying her mortal self to him in holy matrimony?
Hi!!! Thank you sm for resending this ask and I hope you’re doing well too.
Yesterday I had a surgical procedure where they stuck some really big needles into my spinal column while I was under anesthesia to inject steroids. Still feeling pretty achy and not great, but big needles will do that to you lol.
Anyways on to the good stuff.
I’m going to start with getting into Morpheus and then Reader’s perspectives, to add context.
I’ve mentioned before about how I’m approaching Morpheus as a very old fashioned/proper being used to a specific standard and protocol when it comes to interpersonal relationships of all kinds. Not only is he a royal king, but he’s also an ancient god who follows ancient rules (for the most part). As a king and a god, he wouldn’t be beholden to any of his partners or feel a sense of accountability from them. They just weren’t equals. He could do as he pleased and demand what he wanted and they couldn’t. His past marriage with Calliope and past romances with Nada, Killala, and Alianora reflect this. (I also want to emphasize that the reason why Morpheus behaved this way in the past in treehouse is because that’s simply the way he learned how to behave in relationships. That was custom, both in the Waking world, which affects the dreaming, and the custom when it comes to royalty and people in power in general. And he was/is a selfish being so this feeds into that for him.)
He does truly love Reader and want to marry her, but the only way he knows how to love her is how he loved people in the past, which was dysfunctional/neglectful/toxic. Morpheus never learned how to be another way.
But he wants Reader more than he’s ever wanted anyone else and is like, if I can obtain her and secure her to me, everything else will fall into place! A lil delulu lol, but he’s not the god of thinking shit through.
On the other hand, Reader is a modern woman. Not just a modern woman, a modern woman who walked into this relationship with the expectation of modern treatment. Being treated equitably, being mutually responsible and accountable towards one another. Complete trust, honesty, and respect.
She’s not truly opposed to marrying him, but she’s less concerned with the “marriage” part of this equation as she is about the parts of a relationship that make a marriage successful. Can she trust him, will he remain true to her, will he protect her and not mistreat her, will he remain obsessed with her and not grow distant or bored. That’s where Morpheus’s one track mind and her clash.
She wants this relationship but on her terms, not solely his, from a position that can be negotiated from.
While Reader clearly isn’t secure in their relationship at the moment, she’s secure enough in herself that she isn’t afraid to hold Morpheus accountable even if it might jeopardize their future.
Spoiler alert - she does eventually agree to marry him and they have a fairy tale wedding before the baby is born and I’m sooo excited hehe.
But right now they’re essentially going through marriage negotiations, as royalty once arranged marriages. But they’re not negotiating over alliances or land or titles, Morpheus finally has met his match who wants something much more important than those things.
And every time she refuses Morpheus, he comes back with a better offer, so to speak. He’s already learned he can’t dazzle her with jewels and gold and things. He has to actually change for the better as a person to keep her. (More Hades and Persephone influences!)
(The way I see it, Calliope’s royal father, King Zeus, would have done all of the negotiating with Morpheus over their marriage. That’s what was done in Ancient Greece and what was/is done all over the world. Negotiating over the possession of Calliope, taking her from her father’s house and adding her to Morpheus’s house (aka family). This is a scenario that naturally lent itself to objectifying Calliope, placing her on a lower status to her husband.)
Reader is a very very special character to me. Not only does she represent me and how I view the world and how I view other people, she also represents the person I wish I could be and the strength/courage/bravery I wish for all people. By giving her her happy ending that she acquired on her own merits and strengths, not by compromising who she was but because she stuck to her guns, I hope to give us all a future where we love and are loved for who we are, not in spite of it.

SPOILERS FOR PERCY JACKSON TV SHOW!!
-
Honestly, this is the best adaptation of Hades that I've seen in a long time.
Admittedly, I can only recall three examples of Hades that were adapted in media.
The first being Disney's Hercules' Hades, where he's a generic, power hungry bad guy who wants the throne for himself.
The second being the movie's version of Punk!Hades, where his own wife calls him cruel and abusive, when OG Hades was probably the most loyal and caring in matrimony (if you follow the story of Persephone staying with Hades by eating the pomegranate seeds with no prompting).
And then there's book Hades, which in my opinion, is just sorta there. Like, brownie points for protecting his kids, but minus a few when he wants his own kid to be the star of the show at the expense of the world. ( readers of the series, you know what instance I'm talking about)
But TV show Hades is probably the best and most accurate I could find, unless someone else points me elsewhere. He's just a chill dude, who has a little sitting room behind his scary looking throne, doesn't give a damn about usurping the throne, is only interested in getting his helm back and is only interested in the bolt because of the threat of Kronos and even offers his nephew, sister-in-law and this random satyr sanctuary for the bolt. And he doesn't even try to stop them when they leave via pearls. Sure he protests, but he doesn't actively move to seize them before they escape.
Like honestly, this is the kinda dude I'd imagine would name their giant, three-headed dog 'Spot' in Greek.

I may have spent too long obsessing over this with my fiance but. imagine hera and hades who have only ever wanted to marry each other, from their fathers stomach to their rescue by zeus. imagine zeus who sees hera and wants her. he doesn't ask, because he's zeus and he never does. he gives hades the underworld and takes from hera the skies. for millennia, that is all there can be. until zeus cheats on hera with demeter and persephone is born and persephone is kept on a meadow by a mother who cannot bear to let her go. a mother who wants her child as a virginal goddess, a spring mist. imagine persephone going with hades willingly because he offers a path from the meadow. persephone, who loves her husband. hades, who loves persephone and hera both. so hera, vengeful and spitting wrath, softens herself for persephone. takes her by the hand twice a year and makes of herself an escort for a loved one's wife. she is goddess of matrimony. it's only right.
imagine, then, persephone who has always been a thing of want, persephone who knows the love and the longing in her husband's bones. persephone who, on the road to the underworld, falls in love with matrimony. on the walk up and the walk down, she is hera's. when zeus dies, they will, all three of them, share the same halls.
also something something when a nymph taunts persephone with her dalliance with hades, persephone turns her into mint with a stomp of her foot. hera kisses her breathless for it

Transiting Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn 24/12/2022 - 9/01/2023
The Underworld's Priestess Pageant
Tumblr media
~Call your haunted performer to the altar of your grand stage, and
Let Her reveal the secrets of the inner Prophetess like scarlet letters through your lips
Let Her harvest the forbidden fruit of the Spring taken from you
Let it go and let Her happen
~Break your generational silences with the hymn that is incomprehensible
and curses with the jewels that are immeasurable
From these dewy depths unravel the flowers from immortals that can never die and the binds impossible for mortals to sever
~ The Priestesses of Arts, Beauty, and Love will reunite with their sisters on the other side of the mirror
where the Queens of Hell are there to remind you that you are so much more than just a girl ~
Venus joining Pluto signals the time when Hades's dark carnival of underworld Goddesses arrives on earth for their once- in -the afterlife show. Venus is the traditional patroness of cosmetics and costumes, and with the girls of Hades teaming up with her, every costume change is an inner transformation taking place on the underworld stage,
we have all the Goddesses waiting behind the seams of reality for their chance to shine in beneath this lurid spotlight, for their opportunity to adorn the corset of shrouded in secrecy and mystery
So maybe this inner underworld performer experiments with the siren, temptress, the dominatrix in both roles of control and submission, an old Hollywood horror show actress,
smoky sleepless mascara, cherry velvet or magenta lipstick, bat winged eyeliner, and the magnetic Venus-Pluto aura that makes her appear ravishing in whatever the Patronesses of Cosmetics and Costumes have designed for her walking dead dark fashion parade.
There’s so many layers and potentials of expression when Venus and Pluto reunite.
The love affairs that are kindled or developed during this period have the potential to stain your spirit for the rest of this lifetime and maybe the next few to come.
This is because Venus and Pluto together are capable of forming the most sacred, spiritual, soul binding human connections possible, the ‘love any harder than this you would cease to exist type’,
so with this potential for complete and immortal ecstasy we are going to have the possibility of falling just as far the opposite, because with so much room for light we have just as much for darkness.
Much of the pain expressed by Venus and Pluto is centred on betrayal. Hades betrayed not only Persephone’s trust in He and all larger-forces from protectors to potential danger, but also the trust that She had in the world being a safe, secure, and good place when nobody and nothing came to help her. Persephone’s mythology reliving through us may unearth either partner’s unresolved or unspoken issues with trust and betrayal in the relationship. Old wounds can return as the hands of Capricorn time become the 8 of eternity hourglass and the past and the present drip-bleed into each other. Nothing conserves like Capricorn Sex is an instinctual response to inner Venus-Pluto forces.
Though it goes far beyond role-play and appearances. This pair are longing for you to trust them and in so yourself, just let go and surrender to a state of being completely vulnerable with this other person, to experience an intimacy beyond the physical and contactable. Exposing yourself in a way that feels like taking off more than clothes and risks just as deep scarring. It is this state of surrender and vulnerability that uncorks the Venus-Pluto love potion and the ancient sorcery of the great mystic matrimony.

Yell if you disagree ofc but miquella's perennial childhood is definitely correlate with his ambiguous gendering as trina. Like of the traits commonly attributed both to idealized femininity and idealized youth he is defined by a few of them (kindness, loveability, beauty, "naivity" but not really, etc.), though you could also perceive it as the hypothetical child existing in a state Before the climactic rite of gendering which is matrimony, as pure indistinct potential which could go either path. in a fucked up way it's definitely part of why him of all the demigods was the one captured by mohg (in a kind of persephone-esque kidnapping). Yet paradoxically trina seems to be the perfected vision of his own yet unattained adult self at least in part...

I zoned out horribly, my bad. Also I did not mention this in the other post as I was trying to get a point across and it was also meant to be more for the general/fandom-based audience but did you know garnet also represents undying and eternal love due to its connection to the ancient fruit of love and the matrimony between Persephone and Hades? It also stands to symbolise marriage and fidelity; representing passion and strength not only in daily life but also the more intimate matters, such as those of sensuality and love.

The myth of Hades and Persephone
Hi, greek and roman culture student here!
I've always been fashinated by the myth of Hades and Persephone, and I've heard a lot regarding the "original" version, and I thought I could offer some of my knowlege to better understand the culture behind it.
The "original" version
I'm afraid that, expecially in Greek mythology, there is no such thing as an "original version" of a myth. All the different version are valid because they're the expression of a different Greek region (an let me tell you, those were WIDELY different culturally and in the folklore). There is surely some that are more famous than others, but being famous doesn't mean anything, it's just a version as valid as the others.
Also, all the greek myths originate from Minoan and Mycenaean myths, really different from the ones we know today.
To make an example, in the Minoan version of this story, Hades isn't featured at all, Persephone's the wife of Poseidon.
Marriange and Rapture
In arcaic greek language the words for marriage and abduction were the same one, lately evolving into a word for abduction (άρπαγή) but no proper word for marriage, that was indicated with γάμος, that is a widely ranged term to indicate a family in general.
Also, in the arcaic civilisation the ritual for matrimony had a simulation of kidnapping of the bride by her future husband, and in some regions, like Sparta, this tradition remained well into the classical and ellenistic period of Greece.
This is furtherly illustrated in pottery decoration, were the pose that indicates marriage and the one that indicates abduction are one and the same.
For the Greeks, marriage and kidnapping were pratically synonyms, and that's why we have so many myths with the rapture of a woman that in some version are simply indicated as a marriage (Hades and Persephone, Helen and Parides) or an elopement (Europe, Io, half of Zeus' love affairs). In Greek culture, the two acts were interchangeable.
Having this informations, the difference in the versions, some depicting Hades as a cruel kidnapper and some as a peaceful husband, shouldn't surprise us.
I hope this was useful, please add more if you happen to know other informations!

a boon, pray. grant me a boon, goddess of gods. when the flowers bloom and the air grows heavy with warmth, won't you give me something sweet? tender and wild, and full of teeth, let my mother work her hands to blood.
am i not made from the lines in her palms, and all the soft edges your husband has long since whetted away? are those not his teeth, buried in my mother's shoulder, yet?
in the hungry soil, I plant a pomegranate tree. each year, it carries six fruits. each year, I return to find it sick with rot.
my lady. my skies. my wrath. under my toes blooms mint. even in my mother's garden, it sits just underneath my skin, as though it has long since found root in my flesh. this, too, is an offering.
I wonder, in the summers, when the air is honey and the garden wails, about the cardinal points of your rib cage. or, perhaps, of this world. storms like jewels, and days so clear that stars might touch it.
at night, I watch what will be Venus. Aphrodite. sharp, she sits stitched into the very fabric above mortal eyes. stark, she looks at me, every autumn.
your husband misses you.
a secret, goddess. keep a secret, for me. in mortal terms, the story has five beats: a god finds in a place full of sunlight a goddess with pearls for teeth. he asks of her nothing and takes of her all that he can touch. willingly, say some. trickery, say others. she loses name and boon and realm in his hands. home will never be the same again.
that is not the secret, dearheart. that is not the boon.
the secret has long since dripped into the cobblestones that line my path. the secret lies, folded in divine terms. matrimony takes me, yearly, by the hand, and guides me, slowly. gently, it takes from me my crown. with soft hands, it braids my hair and washes the pigment from my fabrics.
on the border between winter and spring, something golden lays heavy on my mouth. halfway between summer and autumn, I spin from the tips of my fingers a petal-storm and drink ambrosia from vengeful lips.
a boon, goddess. grant me a kiss, for these long, warm months. I will bring to olympus a pomegranate and watch you, golden, pry it apart.
- Hera, take me home. soften yourself, and let me kiss wrath from bloody palms.

l🐝ambrosiabee🐝l’s Victuals Symbolism Collection
Theories
[29] 🚨THEORY #29🚨
(LO EpX) The honeycomb is a sacred symbol to Aphrodite. So, did Aphrodite give this honeycomb to Eros so that he could serve it to Persephone as breakfast? [🐝: It is a bit far-fetched...but I like to think that Aphrodite is actually very caring.]
[86] 🚨THEORY #86🚨
(LO EpX) By the 17th century, pretzels symbolized undying love. Is this a foreshadowing of Thanatos and Daphne’s relationship? If so, is this telling us that Thanatos’ love for Daphne “will never die”?
Fun Facts
[1] 🕵️‍♀️LITTLE FACT🕵️‍♀️
(LO Ep124) “Sideritis Tea” is a tea which originates from Ancient Greece. During these times they used to get the ironwort from the mountains, thus giving it the commonly used name "Greek Mountain Tea". Echo is a mountain nymph.
[26] 🕵️‍♀️FUN FACT #26🕵️‍♀️
(LO EpX) A honeybee symbolically is a spiritual traveler, and their honey is their “spiritual input”. So, the honeycomb symbolizes a place in a person where their “spiritual input” is stored.
[32] 🕵️‍♀️FUN FACT #32🕵️‍♀️
(LO EpX&X&X) Tea represents harmony, spiritual connection and enlightenment. It can also symbolize one’s inner peace, rejuvenation, change and contentment.
[62] 🕵️‍♀️FUN FACT #62🕵️‍♀️
(LO EpX) (Dreaming of) “Raw Meat” can symbolize major changes and raw experiences. // (A dream about) “Raw Meat” can also symbolize a person’s power and strength.
[76] 🕵️‍♀️FUN FACT #76🕵️‍♀️
(LO EpX) In 1614, Swiss royal couples used a pretzel in their wedding ceremonies (just like the present day wishbone), to seal the bond of matrimony. // This custom may have been the origin of the phrase “tying the knot”.
[95] 🕵️‍♀️FUN FACT #95🕵️‍♀️
(LO EpX) Hecate’s front door has a Hexagon pattern in it. A Beehive has the same pattern. The Honeybee has become a reoccurring symbol in LO. It symbolizes one’s Personal power, Sexuality and Fertility. [?: With Hecate, I see the Personal Power and even some of the Sexuality, but the Fertility part. Would that be because Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft, which usually ties nature to its magic?] [🐝: Hmm, possibly! I kind of saw it as a hint to what Demeter was about to tell her...😛]
