purple notebook - inumaki toge
Tumblr media
word count: 4.5k warnings: none?? not even one??  summary: hopeless romantic yuji stumbles across some love notes in toge’s notebook- the one he uses to better communicate with people.  finally hoping to see his two second year friends get together, he convinces (y/n) to read said love notes. more info: aged up characters, jujutsu tech is a college a/n: this was just gonna be a blurb but I got a tiny bit carried away so now idk what it is lmao ___
For the most part, Toge was actually able to communicate with people, even with his barrier.  His closer friends were more often than not able to understand what he was trying to say.
But onigiri ingredients weren’t always enough to carry a conversation, so he usually had a notebook and pen on hand, just in case he needed to explain something in detail, or even if casual conversation picked up more than usual.
But especially if (y/n) was around.
If she was present- or even if Toge just thought he might see her- he had that notebook and pen ready in his hands.  He didn’t want to miss a single conversation with her, even if it was nothing exciting, he’d eagerly scribble away on the pages, sharing any thought with her that came to mind.
Some days she would be laughing as she read his goofy jokes, other days the topics weren’t so light hearted, and her responses would come out in quiet whispers.  Nonetheless, Toge always put a lot of thought into what he wrote.  He never wanted to say the wrong thing, or have her misinterpret his words.
(y/n) never minded that he took his time with writing messages to her.  The more he would scribble out words and flip to a new page, the longer she had to admire him.  Not just by looking at his pretty features, but the way he thought through every little message he wrote down for her made her heart swell in her chest.  He really did care about communicating with her, even if it took him five minutes to ask her how she slept last night and if she was well rested for a day of training.
Inumaki did his best to be quick, in order to keep their conversations as normal as any other.  When talking with Maki or Yuuta, she never had to sit and wait for them to form the perfect response, they simply spoke.  He didn’t have that privilege, although he’d dreamt of it many times.
Like right now, watching (y/n) jog around the field with Yuji from his spot in the bleachers.  The pair had challenged each other to a race, but after a few laps had grown too tired and decided to bring it down to a light jog as they caught up with each other’s lives.
A bitter feeling settled in Inumaki’s chest as (y/n’s) laughter bubbled and echoed across the field.  He didn’t know what Itadori had said that was so funny, but he wished he had, so he could repeat the joke and make her giggle with his own words.
But he couldn’t.  He could write his jokes on paper, or text them to her, but it wasn’t the same.  How could it be?
When her laughter quietened down, (y/n) wiped the sweat off her forehead with the back of her arm before turning to her training partner.
“I don’t think that’s true” She replied to his statement, which had been so outrageous she’d burst into nervous laughter.
“It’s very true!” Itadori argued, his brows in a furrow.  “He has a crush on you! I’ve seen it with my own eyes!”
(y/n) rolled her own eyes, before casting a glance towards the boy in question.
Toge was sitting on the bleachers, waiting for his partner to show up so they could start their training for the day.  When his eyes caught hers, she sent a friendly wave and a smile, which he returned, even though he was in a sour mood.
It’s not that he didn’t like training with Panda- he was a friend and they always goofed off when they were partnered together.  But why did (y/n) have to partner with Yuji? Couldn’t he work with one of the other first years?
“Toge’s my friend,” (y/n) said to Itadori as they continued on their jog.  “And he only sees me as a friend too”
“Really?” Itadori scoffed, earning a puzzled look from (y/n).  “I’ve seen the stuff he says to you, in that notebook, you think that’s friendly?”
“What do you mean?” (y/n) asked, innocently.
She couldn’t recall a time that Toge had ever crossed the boundary between friendship and… something more, in his writings.  He was nothing but friendly and platonic, and he always had been.  Even when she tried to send him signals, hoping one of these days he’d write something a little more flirtatious.
“He’s always complimenting you and writing the most romantic stuff I’ve ever read” Yuuji said, pretending to grab his throat and gag.
(y/n) swatted at his arm, reprimanding him, but her confusion didn’t go away.
“You’re mistaken,” She says, shaking her head.  “You must’ve misread something”
“No, I don’t think so,” He protests.
Itadori’s laughing as he thinks of some of the things he’s found written in that purple notebook- a gift from (y/n), 300 pages and a set of colored pens- and he knows that the things he’s read aren’t things someone would write to just a friend.
He’d tried to show Megumi some of it, but the raven haired boy’s face went red and he was too shy to snoop through the pages.
“Maybe he just hasn’t shown you,” Itadori suggests.  “Maybe he doesn’t want you to know”
(y/n’s) heart is racing a hundred miles a minute, and though she tries to blame it on her lack of stretching before their run, she knows it’s her overthinking brain going into overdrive as she wonders what Toge had written in that notebook of his to make Yuji think he had feelings for her.
She wasn’t one to snoop, she always felt it was a rude invasion of privacy.  Especially if she were to snoop on one of her friends, one of her closest friends, who’s friendship she cherishes with her whole heart.
But as Yuji goes on about how thoughtful and romantic Toge’s un-read words were, she couldn’t help but wonder what he had written that made the younger boy believe he harbored feelings for (y/n).
Toge had never really done anything to make (y/n) believe he had deeper feelings for her.  They’d always gotten along incredibly well, as she’d picked up on the meanings behind his onigiri language rather quickly when she’d met him.  She supposed they always made time for each other, to meet up and share what little down time they could spare with one another.  But wasn’t that common in all friendships? Making time for each other?
He was always kind to her, greeting her, asking how she was doing, checking in to make sure she was okay during missions or training, but still, she couldn’t let herself believe that he held any intentions other than friendly ones.  He’d acted the same way with the others, didn’t he?
“I’ll get you the notebook,” Yuji declared, pulling (y/n) from her spiraling thoughts and back to reality.  “Then you can read it for yourself, and decide what you think”
“Yuji, I don’t think I should-” She began to object, but the pink-haired boy wasn’t having it.
“You distract him, I’ll get the notebook!” He already had a plan as he ran off away from her, towards the bleachers.
(y/n’s) running came to a slow halt as she stopped before the bleachers, hands on her hips as she caught her breath.  Their jog hadn’t gone nearly as long as she’d normally run for, but watching Yuji race towards the steps made her heart rate spike, nervous about what exactly he was about to do.
Toge must have sensed her unease, as he was making his way down the metal steps at a quicker pace than normal as he headed towards her.
“Mustard leaf?” He asked once he got close enough that she could hear.
(y/n’s) eyes didn’t meet him right away, as they were too focused seeing Yuji scramble towards the spot Toge had just come from.  She could see his bag was still on the bleachers, his notebook likely inside.  She felt her heart claw it’s way up her throat, anxiety washing over her like a tidal wave.
“Mustard leaf?”
The repeat of his question caught her attention, and her head quickly snapped to where Toge stood in front of her, a knot between his brows at her distant headspace.
“Oh, I- I’m fine,” She internally cursed herself for stammering over her words.  “Just out of breath”
He held his hand out to her, producing a bottle of water that she hadn’t realized he was holding.
Had he brought this for her? On purpose?
She felt her face warm up as she took it, thanking him softly as she excitedly opened it and threw her head back, drinking down as much of it as she could take.
Toge was laughing quietly behind his collar, which was no help to the girl’s pink cheeks as she took a breath, capping the bottle and thanking him again.
“I really needed that” She panted, eyes casting a quick glance towards the bleachers, where she could see Yuji stuffing a purple notebook under his shirt as he ran back down the stairs.
It was a miracle he didn’t trip and flail down them, seeing as he was practically throwing himself down each step, taking them at full speed.
She felt her face grow hotter.
“I’ll uh- I’ll catch up with you later? After lunch?” She’s stammering again, and Toge doesn’t know why, but he doesn’t question it.
He just nods his head, and she can tell he’s smiling from the slight crinkle at the corners of his eyes.
“Courtyard? Around two?” She asks, as Yuji is now approaching her with no intent on slowing down, and her nerves were starting to make her skin freeze in a cold sweat.
“Salmon” Toge agreed, just as Yuji was barreling towards the two, panting like a dog and grinning from ear to ear.
His sudden appearance made Toge jump, looking the younger boy up and down in confusion, and (y/n) couldn’t take it anymore, her hands pushing Yuji’s shoulders as she tried to excuse the two of them quickly.  He was going to blow their cover, she just knew it.
“Bye!” She still made sure to send Toge a wave as she shoved the pink haired menace with all of her strength.
“Bye Toge!” Yuji was quick to tease, taking on a flirtatious tone of voice and waving at the older boy with a wiggle of his fingers.
(y/n) swatted his hand, scolding him for acting like an idiot.  Toge watched as the pair pushed and shoved at each other as they left the field, and that bitter feeling in his chest started to fester.
Had she been flirting with Yuji and he’d missed the signs all this time? He wondered, a deep set frown beginning to pull on his lips.  Was he really so blind? Had she been falling for Itadori all the while he was working up the courage to tell her how he felt?
He tried to push the thoughts out of his mind, but it was no use.  Even Panda could tell something was bothering the cursed speech user, as he wasn’t at the top of his game while they trained.
But when his friend tried to ask what was on his mind, Toge had just brushed it off as nothing. ___
She felt like a fraud.  Like a terrible friend with no boundaries.
And it was this damn notebook’s fault.
“Staring at it isn’t gonna do anything”
Itadori had been sitting across from (y/n) at one of the courtyard tables for a good five minutes now.  He’d produced the object and laid it before her excitedly, bouncing in his seat as he waited for her to open it.
But she hadn’t.  She’d been sitting there, staring at it, as if it was supposed to come to life and tell her of it’s contents.
“I don’t know if I can do this,” She mumbles, and Yuji can’t tell if she’s talking to him, or the book.  “I don’t think I should do this,” She adds, in an even smaller voice.
Yuji’s grin falls as her eyes meet his, and he can tell that she’s facing quite the inner turmoil, all over some notebook.
“What if he hates me for going through it?” She asks.
Yuji doesn’t answer right away, he ponders the question, tries to play out all the possible scenarios in his mind, before he opens his mouth.
“I think after you read what I have,” He starts, slowly, “You’ll understand that he could never hate you”
A tiny smile tugs on the corner of her lips, and she nods at him, grateful for the comfort.
“Okay,” She says, letting out a nervous breath.  “Okay, I’ll look now”
Her fingers tremble in the slightest as she opens the cover, and flips through a few pages to find the notes intended for her.
He always wrote in her favorite color, so it wasn’t too difficult to scan the pages for the words he’d written for her eyes to read.
Did you sleep alright last night?
She found a page she recognized, a conversation from last week where she’d told him she’d been plagued with nightmares the entire night.
You should try drinking chamomile tea before bed more often, he’d suggested.  I have some, I’ll make you some tonight.
She had thanked him for the offer, finding it so gracious and sweet that he’d suggest such a thing.
Their conversation had been cut short, she couldn’t remember why exactly, but something had pulled her away from him.  But there was still more written on the page, words she had never gotten to read, things he hadn’t gotten to say to her before she left.
You look really pretty today, by the way.  I like what you did with your hair, it suits you.
It was short and sweet, but still new coming from him.  Her cheeks bloomed with color as she read and re-read the simple compliment a couple times.  Her heart ached that he hadn’t been able to show her, but she was quick to skim through a few more pages to find more of his lost notes.
A few turns and she found a whole page she hadn’t recognized, and her eyes eagerly drank up his words.
I found a really cool looking cafe in town the other day.  Panda really wanted to go in but Maki said we didn’t have the time.  I think you’d like it though, it smelled really good from the outside.  If you’re free
i would really like to take you
if you want we could go sometime, just you and me.
Like a date
(y/n’s) brows furrowed at the scribbled out- but still legible- words.
Had he really written all of this?
“How did you even find this?” She asked Itadori.  Her voice came out in a mumble, unintentionally, as her eyes were still glued to the page.
“Well, I was talking with him the other day, and he had me pick a pen color.  I told him to choose for me, but then Panda explained that he always uses people’s favorite colors when he’s writing with them.  Then when he was flipping through it I saw all the pages of the things he’s written for you… so when he went to the bathroom I snooped”
(y/n) lets out a small, nervous chuckle.  Her eyes flickered upwards to give the boy a scolding look for going through Toge’s things, but she didn’t say anything, as she didn’t exactly have a leg to stand on.
“Can I show you something else?” Yuji asked, pointing towards the open book.  (y/n) nods her head softly, pushing it towards him.
He begins to scour through the pages, clearly on the search for something specific.  As he does, (y/n) catches all the pages that have her color written on them.  She notices how many more pages are filled with her ink than any other color that passes by.
Her heart begins to swell again.
“Oh, here!” Yuji beams as he finds what he was looking for, handing the notebook back to (y/n).
Her eyes widen as they land on the page.  The entire paper was filled out, every line on the page carrying Toge’s neatly written sentence.  And this time, there were no scribbles or lines through his words.
Still, this page was new to her, as she eagerly began to read.
I really liked the song that you played today.  It was pretty.  And I liked the words.  I think that if I didn’t have this stupid cursed speech I would like to sing it to you. I dunno.  I’m not good with words anyways, so I think that singing would be the easiest way to tell you how I feel.  And there’s a lot of love songs, I’m sure I could find one that encompasses the way I feel about you.
Or I could just sing all of them, so you get the gist.
Maybe one song wouldn’t be enough anyways.  There’s probably too much I’d want to say.  I don’t know where I’d even start.  But writing to you is good for now, even if you won’t read it.  It’ll help me get my thoughts together, so I have the right words for you when we do talk.
I wish things weren’t the way they were.  I wish I could tell you how pretty you are as often as I think it, but then you’d probably get annoyed with me, or start to not believe me, but it’s true.  You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.  Just don’t tell Panda, ok? He needs to think he’s the cutest thing in the world.  Just know that I don’t think anything comes close to you.
At this point, (y/n’s) heart was doing somersaults.  She couldn’t believe that Toge could be so… sweet.  He’d always been kind and gentle, so she should have assumed that his flirting style was soft, but she’d never given much thought to what it would sound like to be the object of his affection.
And she couldn’t believe it was her.
I’ll tell you someday.  Somehow.  I might have to write it down or text you, or maybe I’ll chicken out again and just make Maki do it.  But I do intend on telling you how I feel.  Even if you don’t feel the same way, I think you deserve to know.
I wish I had your technique.  You’re so strong and able to use it while still living a normal life.  If I could exorcize demons the way you do, then I think I’d have the confidence to tell you the truth.  But you make me too nervous.  And I don’t want to make things awkward between us, so forgive me for keeping things hidden from you for so long.
I don’t like hiding things from you.  I really enjoy talking to you and listening to you and I wish I could tell you everything.  Still, you’d probably be annoyed.  And I don’t want to bother you.
But the truth is, is that I’m in lo-
“I have to go”
(y/n) suddenly shut the notebook, mid-page, before standing and grabbing it in both hands.
“Wha-? Did you even finish reading?” Yuji’s mouth gaped open as he watched (y/n) scramble out of her seat and break off into a sprint.  “Where are you going!?” He hollered after her.
“Thanks for your help!” She called over her shoulder, but didn’t bother to slow down.  “I’ll text you later!”
He could have chased after her, but he realized she was sprinting back in the direction of the training field.
So with a childish giggle, he got up and went off to find Megumi and Nobara in order to tell them about this exciting development. ___
When the training field became visible to her, she could see that Inumaki and Panda were still training, but it seemed like they were coming to an end because they were mostly goofing off.
Currently, Toge was in a crouch, his arms jutting out with his hands in awkward positions.  The way a child would pretend to be a ninja.  It made (y/n) smile as she got closer.
Panda was the first to notice her swiftly approaching, turning away from Toge’s defensive stance to send her a wide grin and a wave.  This was just the opening Toge needed to leap forward and tackle him.
It didn’t work out so well, as Panda was, well, a panda, and when Toge lunged at him, he simply caught him in both of his large paws, before setting him back on the ground.
(y/n’s) laughter is what brought Toge’s attention to her, and even behind his collar she could tell he was smiling.
“You guys look like you’re getting quite the workout,” She called once she’d gotten close enough.  “I’d hate to interrupt”
Her teasing went right over Panda’s head.
“Actually, we were pretty much done for the day” He told her.
(y/n) and Toge shared a look, both trying to hide their laughter.
“Well, if you’re done for the day, do you mind if I steal Toge?” (y/n) asked.
She held up his purple notebook, and his eyes widened with realization.
“Of course!” Panda spoke gleefully, patting his friend on the back before heading off.  “See you later (y/n/n)!”
The girl politely waved to her classmate before heading over to Toge, who was starting to let his panic get to him.
How did she even get that? Had he forgotten it somewhere? Surely not… he always made sure to have it in his bag.
Unbeknownst to him, (y/n) didn’t have a clue that he was freaking out in that head of his.  She just gave him a sweet smile as she handed the notebook over to him.
“Figured you’d want that back” She had said kindly.
Inumaki was quick to grab it, staring at it as though he’d never seen it before.
“Salmon…” He replied, but he sounded unsure, and distant.
“You alright?” (y/n) asked, oblivious as ever.  “Panda getting too hard on you?”
He briefly looked up at her, but he found his eyes couldn’t meet hers for too long.
His face was starting to get hot behind his collar.  He wanted to claw the material off his face, but then she would see him blushing.  It was a lose-lose situation.  So he just stood there, uncomfortable.
He stared at the notebook again, thinking of all the things he’d written in there that he hadn’t shared with her.  All the embarrassing compliments and that stupid love letter that he never should have written.
Stupid Yuuta telling him to sort his feelings out in writing.  This backfired in the worst way.
“I wanted to ask you something,” (y/n) spoke, gaining his attention, and a small hum that told her he was listening, curious.
She shuffles on her feet, repeating what she wanted to say in her head, just to be sure that she knew exactly what she wanted to ask him.
After a brief second, she was sure.
“How do you feel about me?”
His eyes noticeably widened, and now he was certain that she’d seen what he’d written.  He didn’t know how, but there wasn’t much time to dwell on the little details.
Weakly, he lifted the notebook, pointing at it.
“Mustard leaf?”
He didn’t need the ability to form proper sentences for her to know what he was asking.
“Some of it, yeah,” (y/n) answered with a small nod of her head.  “But.. then I realized it wasn’t meant for me to read.  You weren’t ready for me to read it yet, were you?”
Toge winced, embarrassed, but (y/n) was quick to try and ease the awkwardness he felt.
“Had I known you found me so beautiful, I would’ve made a move or something” She teases with half a giggle, but it quickly falters as her own shyness starts to creep up her chest and into her throat.
He blinked at her, his eyes round, and he no longer felt too nervous to maintain eye contact.
It’s silent for a long moment, until Toge’s opening his notebook, flipping through the pages with nimble fingers and the intent to be quick.
“Tuna tuna” He tells her, stepping forward and handing her the page he wanted her to read.
She glances down, following his finger as he points to a specific note on the page, even though it’s another page filled with notes in her color that she hadn’t seen before- not even earlier.
You’re so beautiful, it reads.
(y/n) giggles, although she’s blushing, as she looks up at him again.
“Yeah, I got that part-” She starts to remind him, but he shakes his head, and is flipping through the notebook again, this time more determined.
Once more, he displays another page, pointing to another note for her to read.
This time, she recognized the page, it was the letter that she had only read half of.  She follows to read where he’s pointing.
But the truth is, is that I’m in love with you.  I don’t actually know how long I have been, but it feels like it’s always been true.  That even with all the uncertainty in the lives we lead, I know I love you.
She glances up at him, her eyes peering up into his from under her lashes, something soft and warm swirling in her irises.  Toge melts before her, she can tell he’s smiling behind his collar, but his brows are drawn upwards into a worried knot.
He’s unsure of what she’ll say.  If she’ll reject him.
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?”
Lazily, he points to a word on the page.
Nervous.
(y/n) giggles, the sweet sound soothing all of his nerves.
“Well next time, don’t make me work too hard, alright?” She teases, before stepping forward, getting much closer to him than she ever has before.
He decides he likes having his personal space invaded if it’s by her.
Her fingers tug at the hem of his collar, pulling it down just enough to expose his cheek to her.  All too casually, she leaned forward to press a kiss to his skin.  And all too soon, she’s pulling back again, and fixing his collar.
“I did read about that cafe though, and I would very much like for you to take me there”
“Salmon”
I will.
“I’m free tonight?” She offers.
He grins, and takes her hand in his, tugging her to follow him off the field.
She trailed along happily, intertwining their fingers with a rosy blush on her face, all too eager to spend more time with him, in a more romantic setting.
The idea made her heart flutter.
“So, when’s the part where you sing me all the love songs that have ever been written?” She asked.
Toge’s brow furrowed as he pushed his elbow into her side.  He muttered something under his breath that faintly sounded like ‘bonito flakes’.
(y/n) laughed.
“That’s okay, we’ll work on it” ___
A couple hours later, Yuji perks up at the sound of his phone buzzing.
A text, from (y/n).
Well, a photo.  A silly little selfie of her and Toge in a cafe, throwing up peace signs and bearing wide, toothy grins, and pink cheeks. ___

Hey, weird comparison might be a stretch
Okay angy-grrr (yes I’m name dropping you and I’m not sorry <3333) I think made a comment a while ago about how this whole thing between Afo and Yoichi felt incestual, and I’d be inclined to agree.
However, however however however, I do have a few bits of commentary on that sentiment. Specifically in relationships to this scene specifically.
Tumblr media
And, alright, no this is not some bs like “pro incest” or whatever, you can talk about topics that are taboo and not necessarily agree with them. I understand that I’m a shipper but I’m inclined to follow my nose where it leads, and my nose says here. So.
We’ve established a lot that the kanji horikoshi used when Izuku says “Give him back!” Is very possessive. Like an ownership over an item.
Okay, because Izuku and afo share one very weird trait—possessiveness. And for literally a month I’ve written and rewritten a post about how I just can’t get behind the idea of Katsuki paralleling afo, because it just doesn’t fucking make sense.
What is it telling us? That Katsuki has become a better person? We already KNEW THAT. The Kudou parallel says something, it says that Katsuki rises ABOVE the fate of the OFA predecessor because he and Izuku accepted their hearts.
Not only that but what is it exactly that we’re paralleling? Afo is defined by ownership (an Izuku trait), an unreliable narrator (also an Izuku trait)—in my opinion, horikoshi isn’t that simply Willy Nilly about parallels. It’s not about shipping to me rn, I’m literally comparing him to Izuku and how Izuku obsesses over Katsuki, IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE.
Besides, wouldn’t this parallel be made significantly earlier, when Katsuki was still acting like an asshole? The kudou parallel was made literally from the start of his introduction, just because he looked so much like him. We didn’t know why this was the case, theories were thrown, and we’re only being told NOW why this parallel exists. But it was built, very carefully, and served a purpose.
And, to add onto this parallel of at the very least afo and Izuku, the portal is very similar to the floating hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Especially with the reminder that Katsuki was taken away by dabis hand on his neck (hands always have symbolism in this series after all, it always has a purpose)
If someone, anyone really, could show me some genuine evidence of afo and Katsuki parallels that isn’t just “Katsuki was selfish about Izuku when they were younger” then by all means
But to me, along with the fact that Katsuki called himself IZUKUS NICKNAME, right before a chapter where afo talks about NAMING YOICHI, ummmmmmmm… I gotta say. Things ain’t looking so great in that evidence department. I guess you could argue that Katsuki did the same thing with deku, but deku hasn’t even been said these past few chapters and Kacchan has so????? Idk.
Anyway, this weird overly attached, incestual, codependent relationship is really fascinating to me. I’m not so inclined to say that Izuku and afo are the same since they very obviously aren’t, izuku is just toxic in his silly goofy ways, but I think it’s an interesting thing to point out.
It almost feels like a “fuck you” to people who have been saying Katsuki and Izuku act like brothers for years. Maybe like Horikoshi is saying, “well I guess if they’re brothers they’re incestual too :)”
And that’s gotta be the biggest power move I’ve ever seen. “Oh you wanna read this relationship in that light? How about I show you what that light would look like if it were true :)” AND LIKE. WOW.
I know anime is not new to incest, but I don’t think this is the “random incest for funsies” type of incest, I think this is the incest built off of actually talking about the taboo. The weird. The not so great things we’ve done as humanity, but that exist anyway. Because mha WANTS to talk about the taboo, things we find morally wrong and therefore don’t belong in our stories, but that just makes them all the more incomprehensible were it to be happen in the real world. Art is made to talk about the stories we wish remained unfinished.

on crowley's loneliness
there's sth that has been sitting with me vis a vis Crowley, loneliness, and what the fandom, largely, has made of it... and it is the notion, simply put, that Crowley is - well - lonely.
but of course he is, you might say, I've even got textual evidence for it! and you might quote Good Omens Season 2 Episode A Companion to Owls directed by Douglas MacKinnon and written by John Finnemore, and you might point to the final conversation of the Job Minisode, when they agree that being a demon/angel who goes along with hell/heaven as far as he can is...lonely!
and, yes, that's right and true.
and yet. still. I want to argue against Crowley being lonely. at least to some extent. I'm not saying crowley isn't lonely, it's more about how that loneliness is sometimes portrayed/interpreted/understood?
I think we need to look at Crowley's loneliness on different levels: his loneliness vis a vis humanity and his loneliness vis a vis the occult/his job/his place in the ineffable scheme of things
because it's right there in the quote, isn't it? it's lonely to be a demon who doesn't feel part of hell. it's not about being lonely on earth with the humans.
when it comes to humanity and friendships to humans, regardless how close or not they may be, Crowley is not lonely! he forms attachments, he meets and knows tons of people, he schemes, he has fun (Jane Austen anyone???? I mean it's actual canon) and yes of course they all die - of course Crowley's human friendships, just like Aziraphale's, are always slightly detached because , well y'know, they will outlive every single human they will ever meet, and that will influence your attachment style. they don't even really meet humans as equals, arguably, but they both have been shown to continuously engage in friendships, whether those are superficial acquaintances (like neighbor Maggie to Aziraphale) or genuine connections (like Leonardo Da Vinci or Jesus, both canonically really close relationships of Crowley's!!) but it's not even the fact that human friendships are fleeting that makes him lonely in the end - it doesn't cheapen the experience. he's used to people coming and going. it's the way things are.
where the loneliness hits, and yes it hits hard, is on the supernatural level. hated by heaven and hell etc etc. before he became closer with Aziraphale (so roughly around Job) he was truly a solo agent, all alone against the not-world, and this experience of defying both hell and his arguable purpose as a demon made him lonely where it mattered most. but Aziraphale has since been with him, they are the same, they are a group of the two of them and they are only lonely together, which is a different kind of loneliness. it holds defiance and partnership - us against the world.
he still struggles with purpose, both his own and that of the universe, he struggles with his own love for humans and God's seeming indifference to them, and there's loneliness in that too, or at least pain, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have any friends??
ah I think this is the bit that gets me! that people think he doesn't have any friends! or that he doesn't have a life outside of Aziraphale! there we are, I have arrived at the core of my problem apparently. (idk if I'm making any sense with this incoherent rambling, I'm making it up as I go)
but basically I just have been irked by seeing this idea a few to many times that's basically: 'aziraphale is a happy little socialite who draws friends to him like moths to an angelic flame while crowley needily and sadly and longingly waits by himself for the angel to grace him with his company' (this is slightly exaggerated maybe but you get my drift, and I'm sure you've seen takes like that) (I love pining Crowley as much as anyone believe me, and oh boy does he do pine - but you know what I mean right??) (I just love this stupid optimistic and loving demon too much)

Obsessed with your Challengers takes! I just saw it last night and I can’t stop thinking about it. If it’s even possible, how do you think Tashi feels about Art ? I agree with your take that she wouldn’t marry him and have a child with him if she like hated his guts but I feel the movie left a lot ambiguous (which I liked but I’m also curious). Idk if I worded that right, sorry if it’s incomprehensible
Also side note but YES @ fandom’s clear racism and trying to push Tashi to the side to prop up Art/Patrick. Tale as old as time, unfortunately
I've fully descended into the brain rot it's so bad for me.
I HAVE MANY THOUGHTS ON TASHI'S FEELINGS ABOUT ART. I've written about it and have talked about it a lot on here but for the record, I do think her feelings for Art change. I've noticed a lot in general discourse around the movie that people either fixate on their very beginning, on Stanford, on Atlanta, or on the final match. Which the movie is nonlinear, I can get why people get confused or fixate on one event for how we view these characters but???
People change. These characters change and I think that multiple things can be true at once.
Speaking specifically to Tashi and her feelings, she liked both of them when she met them. She clearly saw SOMETHING going on between the two of them, SAW that there was some unresolved feelings and like an eighteen-year old wanting to have some messy fun, said she'd go out with whoever won. What Tashi loves more than anything is tennis and so for her vision for herself, esp at eighteen, was to have THAT. Patrick won the match and I think again, she liked them both. It wasn't a consolation prize, it's a win all the way down no matter what.
After her accident, after a few years pass, when she sees Art again? Tashi is notably subdued. Still her, still focused (almost resigned), but I simply cannot and refuse to believe the narrative that Tashi settled or found a connection to tennis by dating Art. She was ALREADY back in tennis, with someone who was GOOD. We don't actually know where she dated Art or became his coach first, and I think that's intentional! It's up to interpretation! It's just fascinating to me that everyone immediately defaulted to thinking it was coaching rather than dating him, ESPECIALLY since again, when she was eighteen she was interested in Art too. She kissed him BACK.
Atlanta to me is more complicated, and leads to what she's feeling towards the end. I will fight on the hill that Tashi hooking up with Patrick in Atlanta wasn't due to cold feet or questioning her place with Art, but mostly devoted to the fact that we as viewers literally see her be made aware again of that racist bitch Mueller making it to Wimbledon with a commentator saying that she doesn't have any competition. That should've been her and I don't think it's an accident that literally SECOND after Tashi hears that and takes a drink, she sees Patrick - of whom she had a connection to that old version of herself. Patrick, who hadn't seen her recover and become a coach to like she was with Art. Patrick, who she still liked. Tashi is 23ish by this time and I won't make excuses for her for cheating. But I get it. I get her headspace. And to me, it has nothing to do with dissatisfaction or not loving Art and everything to do with herself. Tashi is many things and selfish is absolutely one of them.
By the end, I think it would be delusional to say that she isn't feeling dissatisfied, for any number of reasons. I still DO think she loves Art, even at the end, because of how she approaches every conversation with Patrick then. BEFORE fucking him, she says that she will "if that's what it takes" to make sure that Patrick throws the game. Literally SECONDS after they finish, in post-coital bliss, Tashi's first words are about Art. It can be argued that it's because of the game and I could see (if it were percentage) how that could be configured. I just personally don't read it that way; I'm not saying tennis isn't involved, but I think it's just as obtuse to argue that her feelings for Art are also not involved.
tl;dr Tashi is so fucking interesting and I'm beyond annoyed that fandom by and large does not give a shit about her aside from being an object of affection or to fuck for those two little white boys.

Hello! May I please request a fic of genuinely sweet and loyal fem!Reader from a lesser house (like idk Lavender) marrying Tywin Lannister (her liege lord)?
Hello Groovy! I hope you enjoy this and is what you wanted :)
Tumblr media
tywin lannister x fem!reader
marriage is not always from a place of love but obligation, but maybe this marriage will be able to bloom into love.
word count: 1053 words reading time: about 6 minutes warnings: none I can see
Marriage was something you had been looking forward to since you were a small girl. All girls dream of their wedding day, all the extravagate food, the beautiful flowers and the breathtaking gown you would wear. How all your family would be there to see you handed off to the husband of your choice, someone you loved dearly. Yet not everything was how you always imagine it to be. There was still a large service with extravagate food, beautiful flowers and a breathtaking gown. But it was not truly a man of your choice, instead, a pairing that would strengthen the house, Algood. As a woman, you knew your responsibility was to marry to better your house. Thus, you found yourself marrying your liege lord, Lord Tywin Lannister.
There were many different tales about the man, most contradicting the other. Many called him cruel and power-hungry, and he only thought about gaining a leg up in the world. But there was always the rare tale describing his somewhat kindness. You knew you should not listen to gossip, and whispers about people you did not know and you are sure they know either. People were not always liked as they were described, many only seeing the outer shell of the man.
The day of your wedding came at an alarming rate, it only felt like a few days ago you were told you were to marry. You had never personally met your betrothed, lighting a flame of somewhat fear in your stomach. In an attempt to distinguish the flame you took a walk by yourself in the gardens. Hoping it would clear your head and allow you to see the right path. Yet it seemed someone else had come here to clear their head as well. Not too long into your walk, you came face to face with your soon-to-be husband. You assumed he too needed time to clear his head, maybe also looking for the right path.
Clearing your throat you spoke, voice soft as though not to scare him "It seems we have both found ourselves in the garden this afternoon, my lord." Tywin was quick to turn around after hearing your voice, not expecting anyone else to be there. It took him a moment to register who you were, wearing your house colours was one of his only indications you were his betrothed. "That is true, may I ask what brings you to the garden. Without any of your maids no less." You could tell in his almost snappy tone where the rumours and mummer of his unsavoury behaviour have come from. Though you did not take his tone to heart, believing he did not mean for such a tone. Smiling softly you answered, moving to stand beside him. "To clear my head, I find a walk amongst nature helps the most, my lord. May we walk together for even a moment?" You waited for him to give a nod before continuing down the path, eyes drifting across all the different kinds of flowers in bloom.
The pair of you walked together in silence for some time, neither of you had anything to say to the other. Too busy trying to get your minds in order to fulfil your duties. Taking a moment you look over at him, taking in his features. He was a bit different to what you imagine, but never different in a bad way. He was a handsome man, there was no arguing against it, but he just seemed so tense. You were unsure if it was due to you being there or simply because of internal factors. "You seem tense, my lord. Perhaps you could enlighten me in what ails you in order for me to help." your offer comes off unsure, but kind nonetheless.
For the slightest moment, Tywin thought of snapping at you, telling you how it was simply none of your business. To leave him be. But if you were to be his wife he could not treat you in such a way. You have been nothing but kind to him so far, giving him no reason to be unsavoury towards you in the slightest. Sighing slightly he turned his head to look at you, for a moment taking in your appearance just like how you did him. As his eyes drift over your face they are drawn to your eyes, which looked up at him. He could not find a trace of malice or ill-will in your eyes, only kindness and a desire to understand. It surprised him as it was not a look he saw often directed at him, but he supposed you were different from the rest. "The stress from our looming marriage is what ails me," he states simply, his eyes moving from you and back onto the path ahead.
So it was as you thought, you were the cause for his tense behaviour It brought a frown to your face, but yet there was nothing you could do about your impending marriage. "I see, it may ease your mind to know I am also out here due to the same reason. For I wonder what our life together will bring." You pause for a moment to find his eyes on you once more, his face not giving away how he felt in the slightest. It almost made you stop talking, hoping the ground would open up and swallow you whole. But gathering your courage you spoke again. "But I am certain that together we will lead a somewhat happy life. For you will do your husbandly duties and I will do my wifely duties. Perhaps over time, we may even grow to become friends and possibly true lovers."
Silence hung over your both as you awaited his response to your words, while he thought over your words. They came from a place of mere innocence and kindness, it was strange. He does not believe he had met someone who seemed so simply kind as you were. It brought a ghost of a smile to his face, just for a moment before it was gone. But you caught it, you caught his face morph into a small smile. From that alone, you knew all would be okay, that this marriage may bloom into something more.

it's always funny to me when people blame jack's insanity and genocidal tendencies solely on lilith and moxxi's so-called "betrayal" and at this point i'm convinced that they played some different game because:
lilith and moxxi literally saw him kill innocent scientists only because he thought they may betray him, but there was no solid evidence for that. and even if there actually was a traitor among them, jack could've simply put them in some sort of jail or just deal with them quietly. but no. instead he decided to make a whole show out of killing them in one of the most cruel ways possible, while gathering all of his allies around. because his goal wasn't to just get rid of someone you can't trust - he wanted lilith, moxxi and roland to see what will happen to them if they dare to disobey him
after he killed the meriff he thought that it was - quote-unquote - "invigorating". killing scientists also "felt good". normal person behavior btw
he never cared about felicity. he doesn't feel any remorse or guilt after killing her, even though she was helping him this entire time. and correct if i'm wrong, but while he did need an army to take helios back, he, in the end, never actually used it. the loaders in bl:tps couldn't do much - we had to manually turn them into the loaders who can shoot or blow up stuff. and it was after we already got on helios. so basically, there was no rush to make a constructor out of felicity and consequently kill her in the process
by the time of the events of bl:tps he has already destroyed moxxi's underdome like she said in one of the side quests in bl2 (nevertheless, she still agreed to help him). and before you say anything about how he couldn't actually do that and it's a retcon because he was a low-level programmer may i remind you that he had the money to make a goddamn body double for himself. he had a fancy office. he had a chamber for angel's containment. and i think it's pretty believable that a person with that much money is capable of doing that
and yes, angel. while lilith and roland didn't know about that at the time, he has already enslaved his own daughter many years ago and used her to manipulate them into finding the vault for him in bl1. and he had the resources to keep her in her place, too
so, of course, when they saw the eye of the destroyer they knew what was going on. imagine somehow killing a monster that took down armies just to see its' eye being used by some big fucking corporation for god knows what years later
now, to the fun part - the betrayal. let's just say that moxxi’s good at reading people - she wasn’t wrong when she called jack a «power-hungry psychopath» and said that «a lot of decent people will live to regret it if you come down from helios alive» as we will see in the future events. she and others saw jack's true colors shine through during their little quest to save the moon and it was the only logical conclusion. she was fucking right
moxxi specifically asked jack to be at the eye of helios because she planned to kill him (and, well, people who agreed to work for him) and him (and his team) only. moreover, the station was already under attack by the lost legion by quite some time. so there was literally no possibility that it would've impacted any innocents (so idk from where some people got the idea that they killed "millions of innocent hyperions" - that's just called making shit up)
jack, on the other hand, didn't know how much of an impact that caused. however, he isn’t sad about the possible death of people that singularity might have caused (again, it could, but it didn’t - still, Jack doesn’t give a fuck). he isn’t even worried about his own team. all he cares about is that he lost a very valuable and deadly weapon because of «the things he could have done with it» - and it’s pretty obvious what exactly can you do with this sort of weapon. it wasn't just standing there to look pretty you know
also, while we’re at it, you can even argue how this whole “saving the moon and its’ people” thing might have been just a cover up for a real reason – that is, get this very dangerous weapon back under his control. but that's just a speculation based on some of the in-game things i've noticed, so let's not dwell on it
finally, i never really got why people are so mad at lilith for punching jack - she literally admits that she should’ve just killed him instead, as, in the end, it costed her a lot of people’s lives and, more specifically, roland’s life. she feels extremely guilty. she knows that she fucked up. her main mistake, however, wasn't that she "betrayed" jack - her main mistake was leaving him to die instead of finishing a job and thinking that he can actually be trustworthy

@leigh-darling, this is the last time i will interact with you as youre so purposefully obtuse and just arguing with me for arguments sake and that is not worth my time further. i dont give a fuck if you reply to me beyond this; consider it yelling into the void because i will not be there to hear it or entertain your idiocy anymore.
first off, if you agree with 100% that newjeans is looked at with a pedophilic gaze, why is there even an argument? that is what my main post was about, and the fact that you took an issue with how i worded something tangential to the main point shows you dont really care about my main point. thats on you.
second: you DID purposefully take what i said the wrong way because you are the ONLY person who has a direct problem with my post. everyone else has taken it the way i meant it.
third: dont fucking talk down to me by calling me 'sweetie'. you are not my friend or someone i care about. dont refer to people you dont know as 'endearing' terms, you fucking freak.
fourth: i know their ceo is the problem. i didnt feel the need to mention her specifically in the post because i know EVERYONE knows she is the problem, but shes not the only problem. all the adults around these girls are the problem.
fifth: a group debuting does not mean they are 'very good'; not even close. companies as big as theirs will literally debut whoever the fuck they want regardless of skill level because they know damn well they can weather a group absolutely tanking: they have the money and resources that a groups debut failing is nothing to them. besides that, they'll promote a group to the moon and back even if they think a group is bad, because if you put a group out there enough at least a small group of people will start to follow them. talent to a big company is not as important as the potential at making money, no matter what they have to do in order to do it.
sixth: to be incredibly clear, i dont give a fuck who you personally know likes newjeans, oh my god. your entire family could adore newjeans and think their music is great and listen to the music with purest intentions on planet earth: I DO NOT GIVE. A FUCK. it doesnt matter what you personally think about newjeans, it doesnt matter what people you know think about newjeans because at the end of the day they are still being sexualized en masse by predatory men and their company is the thing enabling this. you thinking of them purely doesnt change the fact that most fans of them dont.
seventh: i didnt ignore that. i did clarify that i was perhaps a bit 'generalizing by saying the only reason fans like newjeans is because they're young', and then i went on to say that it ultimately doesnt matter because their group is being pandered to a different audience. and it doesnt matter what 'line' you were referring to as its a fucked up thing to say regardless, and simply not true.
eighth: i dont have to be respectful to you. i have been, but i dont have to be. besides this, i didnt lump anyone in with pedophiles because i didnt use that word before this post. if you feel lumped in with that, maybe you need to think about why you feel youd be included in that instead of being completely reactionary to something you took the wrong way??? idk, just personal opinion here but maybe think for, god, even just a second before posting some bullshit.
last point: i wasnt 'feigning contrition'; i was genuinely sorry for putting your nasty words on my dashboard for my followers and mutuals to see. dont assume you know anything about me or my feelings when you CLEARLY have no damn idea. good fucking BYE

i'm not entirely sure who the first merge boot would be: my options are cody owen and sierra (mostly the first two since i don't doubt cody would use any chance to get sierra eliminated). but, yeah i'll probably just keep owen.
see, i don't think duncan's "alliance" would pan out quite as well here considering the lack of teams, but hm. duncan and gwen in the serengeti (duncan - alejandro, tyler, courtney, gwen - heather, lindsay, herself?, heather/courtney? idk the voting here was weird - duncan) (i like to imagine them both stuck on one half of a cage while feral zeke is in the other because let's not have the guy steal the money in the finale, let's just bring him to rehab) and courtney on easter island is a tantalizing possibility. i could also swap duncan and courtney in that last paragraph without changing too much though.
there is definitely something to be said for keeping the "dives in front of the girl when the plane explodes" moment but i could keep that without heather having to be eliminated and just have chef do it instead. also, she just got un-bald do we really want her to do it again.
i think i might say tyler gets eliminated and then i'm gonna make it consists of alejandro and lindsay arguing about him and heather :/-ing. i don't know what this is how we will end it would consist of. maybe lindsay finally realizing the true extent of what alejandro did?
"you left bridgette stuck to a pole / robbed leshawna of her fabulous soul / made even courtney lose control?! (okay this lyric no longer fits as well but.)"
I. I can't believe I forgot about Cody. He's One Of My Blorbos From My Shows and I forgot about him completely. Throw that twink out pre-merge, have him eliminate himself just to get away from Sierra or something.
You're right about the Aleduncan alliance not having the same basis as canon since they never shared a team. The whole 'love triangle' situation is more than enough plot for Duncan anyway, so you could scrap the whole idea, and nothing of note would really change.
Duncan and Courtney are, as painful as it is to admit, pretty interchangeable as far as plot is concerned. Gwen is far too passive and reactive to function as a conflict generator/plot device (she was the reactive protagonist in Island, and the 'damsel love interest' in Action before her elimination; any conflict involving her is always generated by outside forces and Gwen just kind of reacts to it) so she'd have to be the first of the three to be eliminated, simply because there's not much reason to keep her around. She won't generate anything new for their subplot. But both Duncan and Courtney are proactive problem starters, so swapping their elimination order is fairly easy to do.
But this AU isn't about them, despite how much I've discussed them.
Having Tyler be the one eliminated in Drumheller makes more sense to me, simply because having him in the finale for the tiebreaker doesn't have as much tension as having Heather there would.
Think about it; you've got Tyler facing off against Alejandro in the tiebreaker (assuming Lindsay's the one who wins the cross-country challenge), he's just gonna throw the whole thing, right? He's either completely under Alejandro's thumb, or he's having his doubts thanks to his talk with Lindsay in Drumheller; either way he's throwing the tiebreaker to give the people he loves (both Alejandro and Lindsay) a chance at the million, because he's Tyler. He's chivalrous to a fault, and just earnest enough to care more about the people in his life than the money he could win.
Heather, on the other hand, is here to win. She and Lindsay still have their unsteady 'alliance'- I think there's something poetic about the two of them actually taking each other to the finale this time, since that's exactly what Heather promised in Island, even if she never intended to upkeep it- fuelled by their shared goal of getting Alejandro eliminated. The tiebreaker is her final shot at achieving this goal; the penultimate conflict between herself and Alejandro that the whole season has been leading up to.
Having her eliminated in Drumheller takes all of that plot momentum and throws it out of the window. All of that build up for a face off against the 'villains', gone. In the least satisfactory way possible.
And then you could either have Lindsay and Alejandro duke it out in the actual final challenge, OR you could have Heather beat him and have Lindsay and Heather play a game of 'Who can backstab the other first?'- because there's no trust between the two of them, and Lindsay (as guileless as she is) is wise to Heather's tricks. I personally think, from a narrative standpoint, that having Alejandro and Lindsay as the finalists is the better idea; the whole AU revolves around their conflict, after all.
Meanwhile, Tyler's in the peanut gallery stands, (probably) charred and wheelchair bound, conflicted over which finalist he should be supporting. Does he remain loyal to Alejandro, despite the doubt creeping in? Or does he, now free from the other's rose-tinted influence, wisen up to the fact that he's been played and support his ex instead? Do any of the ex-contestants manage to convince him that Alejandro sabotaged his relationship with Lindsay as a ploy to win the competition?
(For 'This Is How We Will End It', you could just replace Courtney with Tyler, since he's essentially just done with Tyler what he did to Courtney in canon- that is, "lose control" by catching feelings. That could be how Lindsay realises that Alejandro holds no real affections for Tyler, he just sees the jock's feelings towards him as a boon in the competition. And she'd be furious, because he sabotaged her relationship and stole her boyfriend, yet he doesn't even really love Tyler at all?)

If we’re on the topic of characters we like that were butchered by the fandom, Keqing is high on my list. She’s not my favorite, but I find her very interesting. In a world where everyone either worships the archons, has a personal grudge against them spanning multiple generations, or is indifferent to them- it’s refreshing to see some who simply doesn’t believe in them. Not in like a they don’t exist kind of way, more like a they’re simply overrated and we don’t need to depend on them like we do way. I like that about Keqing a lot.
The fandom on the other hand… when they aren’t calling Keqing “literally just Ganyu/Jean/Kokomi/Layla” (not entirely false but not entirely true either) she’s apparently the resident Morax simp?? Like, I’m no lore junkie so I may have this wrong, but I’m certain there was never some reveal that Keqing secretly admired Morax or anything. And if that’s the case then this was likely started as a joke before most people started saying it unironically (as many things on the internet are). But it frustrates me to no end, Keqing deserves better than that. But people will literally argue with you that that’s her canon personality 100% seriously. Like, the whole ‘independent non religious woman is actually a simp for god man the whole time’ joke was never funny in the first place- or anything other than annoying- but to actually argue that it’s canon is insane. You literally can’t be a girlboss atheist in this fandom wtf
Canon Keqing would punch fanon Keqing.
I honestly had no idea anyone felt this way about Keqing cause I'll be honest with you anon I don't like Keqing at all. It's just her tone of voice mostly.. she reminds me of this girl I went to high school with.
But yeah what you're saying makes sense I could see a lot of people didn't even start to like Keqing at all until the dendro element finally dropped and the fandom has a habit of zeroing in on a voiceline or a tiny character trait that they like and ignoring everything else about a character. The Genshin fandom is great at making people who take the time to read feel bad about themselves.
Idk electro is my least favorite element. So I'm really biased.

I don’t know if I count as someone with childhood trauma. My Dad hit me before. He doesn’t anymore. He says it never happened. I have autism and recently have been going through burnout. My mom has been trying to help but she keeps on fighting others. I still flinch when people yell at me. My mom told me that by the time I reached 18 I wouldn’t need my stimming things. I just don’t know.
I will first of all say I don’t think people’s intuition about this kind of thing is ever wrong. If someone feels like they have experienced a trauma, they probably have. As for what you’ve shared here specifically, any kind of physical abuse or violence towards a minor definitely counts as childhood trauma, and I would even argue that your dad lying to you about it is traumatic as well. So sorry you’ve gone through that & are still being told that your very real experiences are false. That’s awful. But just sending this ask shows that you are looking out for yourself and looking for answers, which you should give yourself a lot of credit for. You’re the only one who can really know what’s best for you & figuring out what that is can be so hard but so empowering.
I’m glad your mom wants to help. It sounds like she really means well, but I think she might be somewhat equating stimming things with unfavorable behavior…its not my place to say ofc idk you or your parents. But its pretty common for parents to see visible signs of autism as something that they understand and accept, but that their child might be ostracized for by the outside world…which can be true of course, prejudice is an unfortunate reality. Understandably parents don’t want their loved ones to have to go through that, so they resolve to ween their autistic kids off of those things as a solution. The intentions are good but suppressing autistic traits (like stimming) generally just leads to bigger problems down the line (like burnout.)
I can’t speak for all autistics, and ofc feeling safe is always priority…but I think prejudice should not stop anyone form doing whatever they need to be their best self, at any age. Whether that’s being openly and proudly autistic by using stim toys, wearing big chonky headphones in public, using a mobility aid, having a service animal, carrying a comfort item like a plushie, asking for help, having a caretaker, weird eating habits, setting boundaries, staying home a lot, whatever it may be. This world can be so nasty to people who dare to stand out in any way, but a lot of the time standing out is necessary to be happy and healthy.
Being autistic in a world that’s not made for us is a lifelong battle that allistic people will simply never understand. And healing from childhood trauma on top of that? Its really heavy stuff. So go easy on yourself! Do what you gotta do to find what works for you & don’t let anyone take that away from you <3

You were never one to enjoy the spotlight. Instead, you were often found in the background of things, just observing the extroverts who managed to get themselves in the middle of everything.
You had a nerve to admire them- their ability to just get out there and show their true selves, despite so many people watching their every move. Just the thought of it made you shudder. Yet you couldn’t help but also be rather envious of them.
Them, in question, being Sean McLoughlin.
You weren’t quite sure how you became associated with Jacksepticeye himself, choosing to focus on the present and future with your friend rather than dwelling on your past. He was just Sean, your internet friend. And also Jacksepticeye- a famous youtuber with millions of followers.
Sean was who you aspired to be in life. Outgoing, happy, out there, everything positive in life that Sean had, you wanted.
He’d confided in you often about how nervous he’d get before streams or videos, fearing that he’d say the wrong thing or upset his fans, but he still put on a brave face and went out into the chaos. That’s what you admired. His ability to conquer those anxieties.
You wished you could do that. You were simply too nervous.
Which is why when Sean facetimed you one night- morning, actually, seeing as it was 3am in California, where you were- asking you to join a game of Among Us for one of his videos, you adamantly refused.
“Why? Please, Y/N, we need one more person.” Sean begged, “It’ll be me, you, Felix, Ethan, Corpse, Julien, PJ, and Dave. Not everyone’s playing today, it’s a smaller crowd.”
“But it’s still a lot.” You groaned, “I don’t even know them. I just know you.”
“They’re nice! You literally watch their videos.” He argued back.
“That’s the point, Sean! They’re famous, I’d just be some random chick in the game that everyone asks where the fuck she came from.”
“No, you’ll be the girl that everyone adores. Now get on, we’re playing in ten.”
You sighed as the phone hung up and turned on your computer. A Discord invite was waiting for you- Sean must have invited you for you to talk to everyone as you played. You accepted with shaky fingers and put your headphones on, pulling up Among Us and typing in the game code.
“Hello everyone- wait, who’s pink?”
“She’s a good friend of mine,” Sean explained to Felix, “Say hi Y/N. We’re streaming live right now.”
“Hello,” You couldn’t help the meek tone in your voice, smiling shyly as if you were actually on camera. “Wait, you’re streaming? Sean, I thought you said it was a recording for a video.”
“I, well. It’s a video all right.”
The group laughed, but you stayed silent, fixating your attention on a lower voice that chimed in at the end.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Corpse.”
“The King of Imposters.” PJ joked, making Corpse laugh.
You giggled a bit, “Hi…”
Felix gasped. “Corpse, her voice is like, the total opposite from yours. Her’s is so cute.”
Corpse laughed as well. “Agreed. I like it.”
As the game loaded, your heart practically dropped.
Imposter.
As if your nerves weren’t bad enough as they were. But, on the bright side, you were with Sean as the other imposter. At least it was someone you knew.
You both split up, you heading towards Electrical. Corpse and Felix were close behind you, Felix following you into the room while Corpse left. You pretended to do your task for a minute before moving to your left a minute and killing Felix.
You rushed out of the room and then headed to Navigations, making sure to avoid anybody who could have seen you leave Electrical. A few moments later, a body was reported.
“Where was it?” Sean asked Julien, the reporter.
“Electrical.”
“I saw Y/N go in there with him at the beginning of the game.” Corpse joined in, “I saw them as I was going to the Reactor.”
“I was in Electrical with him,” You admitted, still acting a bit shy. What could you say, deep voices and new people made you nervous. “But after that I left and went to do my task in Navigation. Felix was still alive and there when I left.”
“Did you pass anyone sus on the way there?” Sean asked.
“No, if they came in after I did it must’ve either been from the other way or after I was already in Electrical.” You started picking at your nail polish- a habit of yours when things got a little overwhelming.
“So you’re saying that it could’ve been from the direction Corpse was in?” You could hear the smirk in Sean’s voice.
“Whoa, whoa, hold up. Why are you so quick to throw me under the bus? I’m just a crewmate.” Corpse questioned, “You’re pretty sus if you ask me.”
Sean scoffed, “I’m just inferring that the culprit came from your direction. Never in my words did I say it was you. Sounds like you’re getting a little too defensive for someone who’s ‘just a crew mate’.”
“Uh, guys,” You quietly spoke up. You didn’t expect anyone to hear you, but Corpse and Sean immediately quieted down at your voice. “I hate to interrupt, but we’ve got to vote. I don’t want us to argue…”
Sean laughed. “Oh little Y/N, you’re too sweet. I’m skipping this round.”
As you voted to skip as well, your stomach clenched when you heard Corpse quietly repeat “Little Y/N”.
꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂
“It’s Y/N, I’m fucking telling you! Y/N!” Julien was practically screaming at this point. You tried to stay calm, focusing on keeping your voice steady.
The group had been calling you cute and adorable practically all night, so you were seriously about to put that to use.
“I was in Medbay with Corpse, isn’t that right, Corpse?” Your tone was sweet and slightly flirty- hopefully he’d get the hint.
Corpse hesitated for a millisecond- long enough for your breath to catch, but short enough for nobody else to notice. “Yeah, she was with me.”
“She was with you after she vented there!” Julien cried, “I can’t believe this- she killed Ethan and vented away right as I went into the room! You all are fucking nuts if you don’t believe me.”
“I don’t even know how to vent…” You murmured innocently, but in reality you were smirking. Julien was definitely telling the truth, and you were internally beating yourself up for letting yourself be so reckless after a kill, but nobody was seemingly buying his story.
There was only you, Corpse, Julien, Dave, and PJ left. Sean was voted off after fucking up his alibi, leaving you alone with the rest of the group.
Corpse sighed. “You all heard the girl. She doesn’t even know how to vent.”
“Wh- she just fucking vented!” Julien exclaimed, “Corpse, man, she’s got you under some fucking magic spell if you can’t see all the evidence. Guys, back me up here.”
“She’s sus.” Dave admitted, “And Corpse defending her makes it even more sus.”
“The spell she tried on him obviously got the best of him. I say we vote Y/N.” PJ agreed.
“There’s no spell, guys, oh my God.” Corpse laughed, “I just don’t think it’s her. I’m skipping.”
“I can’t believe you guys don’t believe me!” You whined, deciding to go further with your emotional tactics, “I’m literally about to cry. It’s not me!”
And yet, despite your protests, Dave, PJ, and Julien all voted you out. Crewmates had won the game and you were giggling nearly like a maniac as everyone gushed about how you did as an Imposter.
A bit later, you had to say goodbye to your new friends and face the reality that their fans would definitely find who you were by tomorrow. Or like, in a few hours, because it was already 4am. Corpse was in California as well, wasn’t he? He should be getting some sleep too, you thought. But maybe sleep schedules were different for Youtubers. You didn’t know.
You pondered the thought for a moment before the notification sound for Discord alerted you of a new message on your phone.
Corpse:
Just letting you know, your voice definitely had me under a spell. I’d like to hear it more often

hi could i request something? basically just HCS about langa and reki when you guy get into a fight or sum idk LMFAOO, you dont have to do this if you dont want to tho <3
➯ A/N: Thank you for the request! I hope you enjoy. I added a few characters, hope you don’t mind:)
➯ When you guys get into a fight
➯ Characters: Langa Hasegawa, Reki Kyan, Kaoru Sakurashiki, Kojiro Nanjou, Hiromi Higa and Miya Chinen x gn reader
➯ Warnings: angst if you squint, fluff
Tumblr media
Langa:
Ok the majority of your fights are generally because of a miscommunication. If things aren’t spelled out for the poor boy, he’ll be completely oblivious to what’s bothering you
When you finally snap, he always seems shocked, asking why you hadn’t said anything sooner, even if you’d been trying to hint at it all week
Not really one to shout, but if things get heated enough he might snap. He always feels awful afterwards though. No matter what, he really believes no one should be screamed at because of something as silly as a disagreement
Rarely storms out, he’s always going to try and stay until the end to try and get something, anything out of you that he can use to try and understand your point of view
Understands space. He knows when you dont feel like talking to him, and he will give you that time to collect your thoughts. When you’re ready to speak again, he’s all ears
Gets overwhelmed really easy. It doesnt really show in what he says, but when you raise your voice his brain goes to putty and he can feel his breath get narrow. He’s not scared, he just doesn’t want to be the reason you’re feeling like this.
Never lets you go to bed angry. He’ll give you your space, but if you’re still quiet by bedtime he’s making sure you’ve eaten and you’re not still really upset by whatever played out that day
Overthinks a lot. How long did he not realise you were upset? What if its actually a much bigger deal than you’re letting on? What if you leave? Of course, he knows a lot of it is completely irrational, but it still lingers in the back of his mind, so you can imagine how relieved he is when the fight is over and you’re back in his arms
Asks people for advice a lot. Reki and Cherry are usual helpers, giving Langa their opinions on the matter without going into too much detail. The rest is up to him.
Gives the best hugs and comfort after a fight. He understands couples can fight, and never really takes the aggression let out by the pair of you too seriously. Rubbing the back of your head and holding you close to his chest, he’ll reassure you that he’s not going anywhere, that he’s not going to leave “just because of a silly fight” while you fight back tears on his shoulder.
Reki
Unlike Langa, Reki is a very open person in terms of his feelings, so your fights are rarely because of closed away emotions. However, many are caused by you feeling he is spending too much time in his workshop, overworking himself and not spending as much time with you as he should.
As for Reki, he gets mad when he feels you’re being closed off from him, not telling him things and hiding your true emotions. It’s not that he doesnt trust you, he just doesnt want you shouldering anything by yourself, and tries to make things easier for you by halving the problem.
A very emotional person, and this really shows when the two of you argue. There’s a lot of tears, a lot of raised voices, yknow those exhausted laughs when you’re tired of arguing with someone? Those. He pulls at his hair a lot in frustration too
Both of you need to walk away from each other a lot during arguments. You’re both driven by your emotions, so its hard to think logically once you’ve both gotten really upset.
The type to sit outside a door after an argument if you’ve locked yourself in a room, pressing against it and quietly talking to you, regardless of whether or not he gets a response
Understands space, to a certain extent. He’ll try and talk to you after an argument, try anything to get you to just answer him, to come out from your room, to stop ignoring him. He knows when you really don’t want to face him though, which is when he’ll go out for a while, either to Langa’s for advice, or just for a quiet skate.
Despite how upset he gets in the moment, he gets over it quickly. Once he’s out of his head and seeing properly, he’ll take some time to think it over and see things from your point of view. He’ll come back to you with an apology, and when you’re ready to talk, he’ll discuss things with you this time around instead of fighting
If the fight lasts overnight, he refuses to let you take the couch. If he feels a fight will last, he’ll glue himself to the couch, making it impossible for you to sleep anywhere other than your bed. No matter what the fight was about, he refuses to have you sleep uncomfortably.
Tends to cry after making up. It’s rarely out of sadness, of course, more relief than anything. He’s just happy to have you back in his arms, no longer ignoring him.
Cherry
A very rational person, fights are very rare between the pair of you. When you do fight, it tends to be because you feel he’s being closed off from you, not being as open and emotional with you. As for him, he doesnt like when you act too aloof about things that are actually serious to him
Fights start out quiet, talking in normal tones and using your heads. However, as the fight goes on, your voices gradually get higher and louder, arms thrown in the air as you get in each other’s faces.
He snaps quite a bit. Petty remarks, snappy replies and other unnecessary comments are thrown out without much thought as he gets more pissed off. Not necessarily because he doesn’t have anything to defend himself, but because once he’s started, he’ll do just about anything to piss you off
Depending on the fight, it could last an hour or a week. Both of you are so petty that you’ll refuse to apologise to the other, forgetting who was even in the wrong in the first place
Honestly, whoever goes to sleep first gets the bed, he’s not as considerate as Reki. However, as the fight goes on, the pair of you will stay up for ungodly hours into the night, trying to outlast the other because they dont want them sleeping on the couch. You’ll never admit that though, which is why you wont just fall asleep on the couch first. Besides, if you happen to fall asleep on the couch before Kaoru goes to bed, he’ll carry you upstairs and sleep on the couch himself. He’ll never admit that though, he’ll simply say you woke up and went upstairs in a hazy half-sleep, which is why you dont remember.
He’s definitely programmed Carla to apologise to you for him at least once, rolling her into the room you’re in before quickly walking out to the sound of “Y/N, I-am-very-sorry-and-I-was-wrong-please-forgive-me” in Carlas robotic voice
If you ever go to Joe’s restaurant to cool down, he’ll make a big fuss, swaying and sighing, dramatically shouting about “however will these lovers reconcile!?” Once his act is over though, he’ll comfort you and give you your favourite meal, tutting over the pair of you and thinking of ways to help you make up
Literally won’t let you go of you for at least a week after you fight. This mf is hanging off you, constant forehead kisses, the whole deal. He’s gone without your affection for a long time while you fought, he’s simply making up for lost time
Joe
You get really pissed at him when he flirts with other girls. He doesn’t mean to, he’s just a bit of a girl magnet and it’s his nature to entertain them. Of course, he all yours, but he forgets sometimes that jealousy is actually a thing
Doesnt take arguments as seriously as he probably should. He’s the type to tell you to “calm down” in the worst possible moment, its usually what makes you explode, actually.
Absolutely dense. The type to listen to you shout for five minutes, and only then have the audacity to ask you just what your problem was
It’s not his fault, bless him. He’s just a little unobservant when it comes to your emotions. When he realises you’re actually upset though, he’s apologising profusely and promising to never do it again
His apologies are always so genuine, you generally forgive him. However, if he does something that really pisses you off and you dont forgive him, he’ll give you space to think
Fights are usually resolved within a day. Like Langa, he refuses to let you go to bed angry
Cooks for you every meal regardless of whether or not you eat it. He’ll leave meals outside your door as a sort of truce, quietly pressing against the door and asking you to please come eat with him, that he hates the idea of you holed up in there all alone
Like Kaoru, he tends to reply with snarky remarks that have little to do with the argument, but they have a little less bite to them. More petty, if anything
Another big reason for why fights never last long is because this man literally. Will. Not. Survive. Without. You. You’ll be trying to ignore him while he comes in every five minutes, asking you how to get a certain channel on the TV, or stupid things you know he’s only asking because he misses talking to you
After you make up, he literally wont even look at another girl for at least a week. Mf will literally turn his head the other way if a girl comes near him, shouting about how he’s spoken for
Shadow
The biggest hothead. He says a lot of things he doesn’t mean in the moment, which will cause you to storm out and he’ll immediately regret it
The fight almost immediately escalates past hushed voices, swear words thrown around as you get in each other’s faces
He’ll get really upset, but he’ll mask it with being pissed off and angry, clashing pots around and acting like a literal baby. He doesnt want to admit it, but he always feels awful right after a fight. He knows youll need a bit of space after the intense shouting, so he’ll give you that space before even attempting an apology
Aggressively cares for you. Like he’ll say things like “I made food, it’ll taste like shit if you leave it, so I suggest you have it now” or “nope, I want the couch, I’m gonna watch something” he’ll never admit it, he just wants to make sure you’re alright even while fighting
If the two of you go to S while fighting, it’ll be very obvious. Usually you’re attached at the hip, but now you couldn’t be further apart. However, he’s still looking out for you, keeping an eye on you to make sure you’re alright. If you’re ever getting hit on by some creep, the fight is forgotten and he’s back at your side, daring the stranger to come any closer to you.
Reki is always the first to notice, poking him and pushing you over to him, trying to get the two of you to make up. Surprisingly, it actually does help clear the air
He can never stay mad at you for long though, he’s completely soft for you
Makes you bouquets to try and apologise. He’s taught you a lot about the meanings of flowers, so he’ll specifically pick ones with hidden meanings like “I’m sorry” or “I love you”
Not very good with verbal apologies. He knows when they’re needed though, and they are usually delivered through a series of grumbles and sad expressions. The thought is there though
Gives very gentle, long hugs after you make up. He’ll hold you close, suggesting a date or a movie to help the two of you relax
Miya
Literally the biggest bitch out of the six to fight with. He’s so petty, he will refuse to admit he’s wrong for the longest time. Once he’s in, there’s no accepting he’s not right
At least for a while anyway. He’ll start to feel bad once he sees just how upset you’re getting, frustrated with his inability to see anyone’s point of view but his own
King of the silent treatment. He’ll hide away behind his switch, drowning out his guilty thoughts with the white noise of animal crossing
He’ll skate to take his mind off things, practicing new tricks until he’s exhausted
Makes really snide remarks that have absolutely nothing to do with the argument. The type to bring up shit that happened 4 months ago just to help his case
Reki is usually the one to make him see sense, telling him just how petty he’s being, and that he cant get so defensive when he’s in the wrong. He knows this, obviously, he just can’t help it sometimes.
Although he’s not one for real apologies, he’ll slowly begin to stop ignoring you, bringing you small snacks or sending you funny things he saw on his phone. He’ll sit beside you, acting as if it was completely unintentional, but will slowly inch closer and closer until he’s curled up at your side, mumbling about how he wasn’t completely right after all
Will literally hit anyone who tries to comment on how the pair of you have made up, talking about how “its not even that big of a deal, just shut up”
Ad*m
Yall fought cause y’know. He’s ad*m
Sat outside your house with a speaker and an ugly ass sign. It started raining and his sign got ruined and his makeup ran
You broke up with him and he cried
Slipped in the rain while leaving <3

Lucifer Finale Thoughts
Okay, I've thought a lot about Lucifer s6, and overall I've been able to accept the whole time travel aspect, even if I didn't care for it. I think the writers did a great job with everyone else's storylines, I was extremely satisfied with them. That being said, I feel they kind of dropped the ball on Lucifer and Chloe's ending with the time loop. I'm a simple person. I don't think an ending has to be bittersweet or deep or whatever to simply be good.
I like the idea of Lucifer finding his true calling as Hell's therapist. I think it fits him really well. But the idea that he had to make a choice he only made because his daughter begged him and he knew he had already done it....felt so fucking tragic. This choice draws some parallels between Lucifer and God's parenting, and I don't think that's a good thing. This show has always been about choice, they even spend the last 2 eps talking about that, and Lucifer's final choice isn't one. Not really.
He straight up says that what he desires is to stay with Chloe and watch Rory grow up. And he doesn't get that. If he hadn't felt so compelled in the heat of the moment, I don't think he would have agreed. You can argue that it's because he had to make a selfless choice, but he already made that huge sacrifice in the s4 finale. (Also going back to Hell to protect humanity! For what he assumed would be millennia!) Lucifer has proven that he can be selfless, not just for those close to him, but for others. Testing him again was unnecessary.
Lucifer spends the first three seasons trying to escape his father's machinations, and two more accepting that he has more control than he thinks. But this finale completely upturned this message, to the point where I feel as though I have to erase it from my mind to enjoy the rest of the show. If this has all been God's plan - Chloe, Rory, the time loop - then what has the point of rebellion? For Lucifer, he has free will, until he doesn't.
And yes, it makes me happy to know that Lucifer and Chloe get to solve mysteries for eternity in Hell, and I guess they and Rory (Trixie???? though I know she wasn't in this season much due to covid restrictions and s5 was supposed to be the end) will get to make up for all that lost time. The thing that kills me is that you literally only live once. Yes, Lucifer found a calling, but I would say it's just as, if not more, important that he found his family. For a show that harped on a work-life balance for a whole season, Lucifer doesn't get one.
I think it would have been powerful to show Lucifer actively breaking the loop. Undoing it, at worst, means it takes Lucifer a little while longer to find his true calling. I 100% believe he would have eventually. Like, the idea of abandoning your kid so they can be angry with you and eventually travel back in time and help you realize you find your true calling seems so...over the top. Rory was already conceived, so she will still be born. Future Rory is a real person, but at the same time, she's a concept, one of a million possibilities.
When Rory begs Lucifer to leave, it felt as though it was framed for Rory to be making a big sacrifice so her Dad can have his purpose. But I would argue she isn't the one truly sacrificing - Lucifer and Chloe spend years and years apart. Chloe has to actively lie to her daughter, and while Rory doesn't know any better, it's almost blissful ignorance.
And not to be all deus-ex-machina, but Amenadiel, the former angel of TIME, is now God. Why could he not A) give everyone their time loop memories to keep so we avoided this whole kerfuffle, and/or B) changed how time works in hell, so Lucifer can come back to Earth without missing thousands of years of therapy in Hell.
Deckerstar has jumped through countless hurdles to make their relationship work, and they got...what, three months of being a real couple before being torn apart again?
To me, letting Lucifer and Chloe raise Rory and Trixie together, with them in their respective day jobs would work. In order for more souls to heal, the demons could spend time on Earth and grow a soul, as Maze did. Eventually, perhaps they, or some of Lucifer's siblings, could help him down there. Meanwhile, Chloe grows old, and maybe Lucifer self-actualizes an aging appearance too. When her time comes, they both move to Hell, and are partners til the end there. Lucifer popping back up to see Trixie and other friends left living.
This got much longer than I intended. Idk, don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with how everyone else's storyline wrapped up, and whoever decides on the music for the show deserves an Emmy. And I'm happy that Deckerstar eventually gets eternity together. But I can't shake the bitter taste of the series subverting it's core message all for the sake of a "bittersweet" and "heartfelt" finale.
And to the 95% of people who don't follow me for Lucifer, you probably haven't made it this far, but I apologize, and will be back to my regularly scheduled programming soon.

op I am pleading for you to talk about c!Schlatt I keep getting interrogated for saying c!Schlatt was the best president and he really didn't do anything super terribly wrong please talk about him
i mean... im sorry anon but idk abt best PRESIDENT. manburg under schlatt.... kind of sucked imo JFKDLSJFKL
1. manburg had massive food shortages, to the point the average citizen (including fundy) had to eat spider eyes to survive.
2. he imposed ludicrious tax of his civillians (namely niki. we dont know if he did that to Every Business like w fundy or if he targeted niki specifically bc of her closeness to the ex-president, but neither is good)
3. exiled those who he saw as political opponents to keep his power
4. straight up ignored his cabinet a lot of the time to make his own decisions (such as destroying the white house, which led to quackity leaving)
5. was widely hated by all the citizens. literally at one point all the ppl left in manburg was schlatt and jack manifold (who was MIA on the server and left to found Manifold Land when he came back)
6. held a public execution, AGAIN without the consent or knowledge of his cabinet (IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. i know big q opposed the execution at minimum, but idk for sure if he knew it was planned at all before the festival)
7. was basically at war his entire presidency thanks to pogtopia's existence
and thats just what i can think of rn! the reasons i like c!schlatt are fully based around him as a character and HIS personal development, not around his policies or actions. especially when compared to the other two presidents, who either won or prevented a war and kept the majority of its citizens happier and healthier than Manburg, he's.... probably the worst president they had tbh
BUT since you gave me an excuse to ramble abt him anyway, i wanna go on abt what i DO like abt him (under a cut bc this post is already kinda long oops) but
tldr; i like schlatt bc of his relationships with others, his flaws and pitiable moments, and how he is a fantastic parallel/foil to the characters around him
I like his complex (and yes, abusive) relationship with quackity, especially after his death and quackity's feelings flipping rapidly between hating him and missing him. but before that they did have a honeymoon-esque period-- at least from quackity's view.
watching their date you get the idea schlatt mightve never really been interested in him and mightve just been using quackity's interest in him for his own advancement! but we dont know.
maybe he did truly love quackity in his own fucked up way in the end, even if he wasnt a good person. maybe he regrets his actions and cruelty. or maybe he doesnt.
in the end they were (like the animatic i linked said) "built from the same dirt", they're both incredibly ambitious and prideful people and parallel each other a LOT (see: q's need for power, his want to execute ranboo paralleling tubbos execution, etc). they're not good for one another, but i love seeing just how they fall apart together (i hope you die, i hope we both die kind of beat)
and.... god his relationship and impact w fundy i could ramble abt all day dude. fundy kept schlatt's sword after his death and calls it an heirloom. we dont know 100% how old fundy was when wilbur was exiled (i mena... he ran for president but current fundy is like 20something and tommy ALSO ran as vp at 16) but we can assume he was a late teen. his own father was gone, but schlatt... seemed to CARE. he showed him affection.
fundy's never truly felt like hes BELONGED anywhere (even the country his father said was all for him, he felt ostracized and made different by his fathers doting babying) and because of that hes always looking for a group to be a part of. hes a people pleaser (its part of why hes so easy for big q to get for las nevadas).
and schlatt GIVES him that feeling of belonging he deserves. hes a spy the entire time, yes, but he becomes conflicted about it as time goes on.
could schlatt just be using fundy and filling his head with empty praise? sure, i couldnt fault you at all for that interpretation, its perfectly valid. BUT, i dont think so. he seemed genuinely shocked to see fundy oppose him on nov 16th. remember, he didnt know fundy was a spy.
in that moment he realizes just HOW alone he is and always has been. and its a tragic moment: the last person he had, the person he himself mightve truly CARED about left him just like everyone else. he was alone, truly and fully. even his allies were only there out of obligation and bc of him paying.
he knows his health has been failing him. he cant even swim due to muscular issues but he refuses see a doctor about it because he refuses to let himself be seen as weak.
hell, one could argue that issue leads to his abraisive and abusive behavoir in relationships: he refuses to let himself be true and genuine to anyone, there always has to be a wall and a proud perfect persona. its part of why hes a great villain both in narrative and to watch as a casual fan: just like c!wilbur, he's playing an act.
hes a foil and a parallel to wilbur. both are men who hide their true selves behind a certain role or persona they feel they have to play while they hide their crumbling health (schlatt's more physical and wilbur's more mental). both experience their rise and fall. but wilbur isnt despised, even if he thinks he is, while schlatt isnt truly loved by anyone, even if he thinks he is.
most of all, their deaths couldnt be more different. wilbur went out with a bang. a large dramatic scene fit for a storybook, with a long monologue and cinematic final blow ALL made to fit how he saw himself in a story and simply filling a required roll. but schlatts death is practically overlooked (especially in comparison to wilburs death and everything else that happened that day).
he built his entire persona about being this massive, larger than life powerful guy but he died small, weak, and frail to his own failing body. its... pitiful, honestly. it doesnt feel fitting, it feels wrong. his life up that point demanded drama, but his death was nothing more than... an accident, almost. unintentional. clumsy. its fucking brilliant.

The Original Intent of Terra and how Deathstroke got the bad end of the stick for it
Okay, Deathstroke Children (Idk what to call you guys because fellow Deathstrokers would end this conversation immediately), I found the time to do this, so let's get to it!
(Note: My original laptop broke with my comics, so I have no images to spare, so it will be sourced. Another note: Many words will be in bold. Partly so that for those reading will not lose track.)
But if tl;dr:
Cold Hard Truth: Everyone from Terra fans to Deathstroke fans needs to stop seeing these characters as real people.
Original Terra wasn't human trafficked or whatever sob story people want to label her with. The CREATORS intended her to be written as Evil without the mental illness and to die for the shock value. They had Raven, The Literal Empath, spell this out in Judas Contract. As for Deathstroke's involvement, he was shoved into her creation story, and Marv Wolfman himself recognized his mistake in doing that.
And for those calling Deathstroke a nazi, Original Terra had nazi-like beliefs where common people should fear and serve them or be killed off just because they're 'special'. Again, BLUNTLY stated in the Judas Contract. So if you're going to call Deathstroke a Pedophile, we'll call OG Terra a Neo-Nazi. (But I highly advice for Deathstroke Fans to not start that kind of war, but I had to say what I had to say.)
Don't get me wrong. (Hopefully all) Deathstroke fans know that their relationship was wrong just like Marv Wolfman, and we do not support pedophiles! But Slade isn't a pedophile! He was never intended to be written as one! It was a mistake made on many levels and should be rewritten like OG Terra's Evil Neo-Nazi-like personality, instead of being thrown into cancel culture.
Also for Deathstroke fans, don't get upset over their content and begin any argument emotionally. Just enjoy whatever good content we can get and support it if you can. Hopefully we'll get our Deathstroke movies and so on!
So I've briefly chatted with one of you over the matter with Terra/Tara Markov and how upsetting it is about how people refer to Slade Wilson as a Pedophile. That is a serious accusation that would make it very uncomfortable to argue about since it can easily make it seem like we justify the actions of pedophiles, and that we are part of pedophile culture that does exist in social media space.
AND WE SHOULDN'T, AND FOR ANTIS READING THIS WE WON'T.
But there was a time when I used to have a blog called friendlyremindersofsladewilson, where I defended Slade and put the blame all on Terra. I was 14 at the time, and looking back at it, I am not proud of it because I realized now as an adult how I defended it for most of the wrong reasons, but still stand with the fact that SLADE IS NOT A PEDOPHILE.
And since this took place when I was so young, it compelled me to write this post because I fear some of you are really young, too, and may end up in this regretful position.
So to make it clear, what Slade had been written to do is a crime, and we should acknowledge it, but not in the way as if it was a crime acted out in real life.
What I mean by that is that there's a clear separation between fiction and reality where one isn't real (Duh!). In this case, it's about the mistakes made between fiction and reality. In reality, mistakes made by the person responsible is on the person. In fiction, mistakes made is dependent on the creator's intent, and sometimes the creators can make mistakes themselves.
Most notably Terra's:
Tara Markov/Terra was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
In Marv Wolfman's literal website, he stated in his online "What the-?" column:
"Which leads to Terra. That was easy. George and I wanted a Titan who betrayed the others. we also wanted to play against every reader conception of who characters are. George and I knew her whole story before we began and we knew she would die. We set the story up with her trying to destroy the Statue of Liberty to show she was the bad girl, but we knew if George drew her as a cute kid everyone would simply assume she would be ‘turned’ from the dark side because that’s the way it was always done which is why that wouldn’t be the way we did it. Tara was insane an stayed that way right until the moment she died. By the way, she IS dead. I don’t know what other writers will do with her – if anything – but if they want to honor the original series they will leave her dead. The Terra from Team Titans was – as stated – some kid the villain kidnapped and physically and mentally altered her into looking and acting like the original. But she was NEVER the real Terra."
And it should also be noted that he stated before this statement that:
"...Only mistake I think I made with him is having him have a physical relationship with the 16 year old Tara Markov. That was wrong."
So Marv Wolfman himself recognizes that what he did was a mistake, but his intent on Terra was never to write a victim.
And quick note: Insanity isn't written as a mental illness here. It's written like how many villains are labeled as insane for having skewed beliefs that deviates from the common good.
Terra truly had some nazi-like beliefs where she BELIEVED that everyone who wasn't 'special' like her and the Teen Titans deserved to be treated like shit because they weren't 'special' like them. She bluntly said it herself in the Judas Contract.
As for George Perez's comment in an interview I found in this website:
"GEORGE: Tara was just a cute little girl, although I based a little bit of that on my wife Carol’s sister, Barbara. A little upturned nose… Barbara does not have the teeth that Tara had. I wanted Tara to be a girl who looked normal. Which also means her death caught everyone even more offguard.
Tara, she was made to be killed; she served her purpose. That was it.
ANDY: You didn ‘t get any attachment to Tara?
GEORGE: No, because I knew we were going to kill her. So I deliberately used all the things to make her as likeable and cute as possible, so people would never believe we were going to kill a sixteen-year-old. And she was a sixteen-year-old sociopath. She was one of our cleverest gimmicks; we deliberately created her in order to lead everyone astray. So we couldn’t build any fondness for her, ’cause we knew full well what her whole motive for existence was. Her existence was basically to keep the stories interesting; we were tossing a curve that no one would have expected.
ANDY: You didn ‘t even love to hate her, huh?
GEORGE: No. I loved handling her, because she was such a good idea. But she was an idea. Not as much a person. She was there to show exactly how much their humanity can be one thing they have to be careful about, the Teen Titans have to be careful about. . . they can be too trusting, or their own weaknesses can be used against them."
Terra was supposed to be a representation of An Evil Betrayal of Trust and That Not All Cute Girls Are Good.
But they took it too far by making her sleep with Deathstroke because they wanted to truly make her look evil by literally sleeping with the enemy. Y'know because this was the 80s, and women having sex was an evil act back then, and that point of view has somewhat or barely improved 40 years later.
Deathstroke was just shoved into this idea, and Marv tried and perhaps failed at trying to undo this mistake with his talk with Beastboy (Tales of the Teen Titans issue #55) and before his confrontation from Wintergreen (Deathstroke (1991); Chapter 35).
So just as I had stated at the top in the tl;dr, it was a mistake made on many levels and should have been rewritten out just as many had done with OG Terra's true personality, and be done with it.
Random person: "He still slept with a 16-year-old."
And it's not that hard to make other heroes and villains do this mistake. Because again, it's all fiction. Deathstroke's fictional. As in Not Real, so we could literally undo the damage by rewriting this mistake. Or make it worse by making Terra the rapist by her using her Earth powers to bind Slade down and force him, and you can't deny that it's plausible. Because she's fictional. Anything can happen. So why didn't Slade tell Beastboy whether he slept with her or not, maybe it was because he really didn't want to but he was forced into it. And that's just something you can't dump on a very emotional man who was trying to kill you a moment ago.
ALL THE POSSIBILITIES BECAUSE IT'S FICITIONAL!
But ANYWAY, I went way too dark there.
Ending on a brighter note: Personally to all Deathstroke fans, please value your mental health, please don't start any arguments that'll compromise it, and continue supporting Deathstroke in whatever way you can!
