Survey recruitment; I gave feedback as a later consultant & Tuttle is another Autistic AAC user who was involved in the project from the start. Shares are Definitely Helpful :)
Are you an autistic adult who uses speech and other tools (such as augmentative and alternative communication [AAC]) to communicate?
If you answered yes, please consider participating in this survey at this link:
We are interested in learning about the speech, AAC, and assessment experiences of autistic people who use speech and AAC. We are curious if a modified version of the Communicative Participation Item Bank (CPIB) can be a reliable tool for clinicians to utilize in measuring the internal experiences of speaking autistic people. Regarding assessment, we are interested in understanding how their speech efficacy, or the extent to which one can use speech to completely communicate their intended meaning, was measured and considered in the evaluation process and if the evaluation resulted in a recommendation of an AAC tool.
The survey includes a mix of multiple choice, slider, and written response questions and is estimated to take between 10-20 minutes.
No identifying information will be collected in this survey.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns via email.
We thank you in advance for contributing your insight on this important topic!

[ID: a lovecore-themed page on TD Snap titled "Phrases: Affection". on the top is the message bar and on the left is a toolbar with various links. the page itself is dusty pink with pale pink, red, and light red buttons. each button has an affectionate phrase on it, like "I love you lots", "Our darling", and "I love you", and each has a lovecore-themed PNG on it as a symbol such as a heart-shaped telephone, a heart-shaped teapot, and two heart-shaped mugs. in the bottom left corner of the page there is a transparent image of a cat walking with an umbrella and bag, and on the top right corner of the page is a transparent image of a heart-shaped guitar. end ID]
sooo.... had impulse to make the affection section of our AAC lovecore-themed...... think it turned out well!!!
bonus: tap the guitar, and get a bunch of petnames!!

[ID: a script in TD Snap titled "Petnames". the horizontal buttons are labelled, "darling", "dear", "dear heart", "dear thing", "dearie", "doll", and "honey". none of the buttons have icons and all are white. there are two vertical arrows to navigate to other pages in the script. end ID]

Man communication is so cool, sometimes Twitter can be really awesome.
Someone corrected me on some alternatives I gave instead of the phrase "going nonverbal" a while back (I accidental included "going nonspeaking" as a part of my alternative suggestion which is also not cool to use!!) and they ended up following me and I obviously followed them back and we just got into a conversation about AAC bc I mentioned I know sign and we were discussing how for a lot of people that use AAC, sign still isn't super accessible not only because of dialects but also facial expression, eye contact, mobility, etc. and I'm just so happy I can contribute to meaningful and informative discussions revolving communication and accessibility not just in the autistic community but how we can be more accessible to others both within our community and out.
Communication is so cool.

i know no one on this website cares about alevels but im livid about it
they took a year group that haven't sat exams before due to covid and tried to return to them to 2019 standards, and some exam boards went harsher than 2019. englands marking has been harsher than wales, N ireland, and scotland, scotland also got advanced information.
friends who got straight As and A*s literally got Cs and Bs (myself included) and so many of them are missing out on university because of it
in addition, our gcse results were also not great because it was done on teacher assessment, so if your teacher didnt like you for any particular reason, you maybe not as good of a grade as you deserved (i was personally mostly fine but i did fail spanish)
