It apparently needs to be said again, but if you're going to shit on a show someone is watching, CREATE YOUR OWN POST. I have seen multiple people in the tags of various posts about Ahsoka noting what they don't like or just ragging on the show.
YOU CAN HAVE YOUR NEGATIVE OPINIONS ABOUT IT, BUT MAKE YOUR OWN POST.
Do NOT jump on a GIF set someone made to note what you didn't like about a costume or the scene. Do NOT hop on someone's analysis where they're talking about what they loved in a particular moment to take shots at how it was written or acted.
Again, no one HAS to enjoy the same things, and there's plenty of criticism of media to go around, but do NOT jump on a post where someone is expressing how much they enjoyed something to be snarky.
i tried to avoid the discourse lol but tumblr keeps 'recommending' me posts from each side so i'm gonna get this off my chest so i can stop thinking about it :'D
i find it annoying how somehow a lot of people seem to have decided that Leon hitting on Shen May in ID has to either be 1. completely and utterly platonic or 2. completely and utterly sleazy, and there's no options in between. and both sides act as if their reading of the scene is foolproof and the other side is ridiculous for even entertaining the opposite. as if things are ever so black and white lol.
personally, my very subjective reading on the scene is that yes he hits on her but once she turns him down he not-so-very-smoothly turns it joking. there's nothing in his expressions or bodylanguage that, to me, suggests that he's being serious about it in the end.
and I genuinely don't see a character who has such strong convictions and morals in other aspects of his character merrily adultering away like some have suggested. if that's how you want to see him, go for it :'D but personally I don't think it fits the rest we know about him. at all.
but that doesn't mean he didn't go into the conversation with the intention of hitting on her, either. he craves human connection, he's lonely as fuck, so if her response had been different then i have no problems seeing him wanting to take it further.
(i genuinely don't know if tumblr's just throwing super old posts at me and if this is an active ~discourse at all, but i kept getting takes thrown at me so here, have mine lol)
Shout out to some rando demanding that someone posting about the Sephiroth Valentine Theory make a discord server to get the discussion out of the tags here on tumblr.
Like...everyone here knows that you don't get to choose what other fans talk about, right? You don't get to tell other fans to leave just because you're not interested in what they're discussing?
As long as it's about the character (rather than like a cat that has the same name, which I see a lot) it technically belongs in the tags. It's generally poor etiquette to put hate in tags, sure, but talking about a popular theory that's been around for over a quarter century, related to two major characters in a work of popular media? That belongs in the tags for those characters, and for the media in question. That is literally part of what tags are for.
I don't know how some people reach this level of entitlement, but if you can't deal with other fans talking about things you don't like, maybe you should make a discord server where people are only allowed to talk about what you like.
just need everyone to realize that the first time I watched RRR, I had NO idea that soldier!Ram from the opening scenes (mustache!) was the SAME PERSON as nicely dressed Ram (with beard) until Ram rolled into the party on a flaming carriage. I literally had to go to Wikipedia to make sure I wasn’t imagining things 💀💀 the camouflage that man goes through in this movie,,
For reasons I find it hard to articulate, fictional ships where I have zero personal attraction to either of the characters scratch a very particular kind of itch for me. I think part of it is the fact that imagining other people getting it on with each other works better as a fantasy for me than anything I’m personally involved in, if you catch my drift (not exclusively, there’s definitely a place for scenarios I’m involved in, just not as often) and there’s something just pleasantly relaxing about just feeling like a spectator to something that wouldn’t involve you at all. Like, I have no job here. I don’t even exist. If I’m anything I’m a director or just someone in the audience, not an actor.
But there’s also something really interesting about like… when I look at a guy and think “nope, not for me, he looks like someone’s dad, I’m looking at him wondering who he’s here to pick up, he is devoid of any sexual energy for me” but then imagining someone absolutely losing their shit over this boring dad-looking motherfucker, being really absolutely gone on them, is fascinating. Maybe because it reminds me that attractiveness is relative and anyone could be someone’s type, maybe because it’s interesting to look at someone and wonder which of their features would particularly appeal to someone else, and you end up sort of… theoretically getting it, even if you still wouldn’t want anything to do with that yourself. It’s just… interesting.
I imagine that Chris proposed to Ames in a Taylor swift concert- love story song
Okay, I get that a scenario like that may be what you would like...
But there's literally nothing about the characters or the story that would indicate this what so ever 💀
Just to clarify; the story will be what I have chosen it to be bc the characters are very dear to me. I've mentioned this before.
I think I may just have to not answer asks about Chramelia for a while bc some of it is just not relevant and downright silly, and it feels like some of you haven't even read the story, let alone the asks I answer 💀
So yeah, pausing on that.
Also, no.
He would never propose to her during a Taylor swift concert. For one, that is not at all how either of them would want that to go. I personally would hate being proposed to at a concert, it's not intimate at all. Second, Chris doesn't listen to Taylor Swift. He's said that in an interview.
