He fucked up so many people's lives so badly in just one decade (not on purpose) that the universe put him in the summoning pool of all world influencing souls. He doesnt really have any special powers but he does serve as a vessel for rasputin at one point. He's the guy who says "people die when they are killed"

please please please there's literally a type moon character in the gif on the top of this form so it's typemoonphobic if none of them get in but it shouldn't be her it should be kirei bc he's 50x funnier & more iconic than jeanne. funny lil murder priest who's fucking THE gilgamesh (from the epic of) in the church basement and dies in a knife fight w a 17 year old whose dad he wanted to fuck back in '94 before realizing that he was actually kinda lame and he's been bitter abt it ever since. he has an orphan torture factory in his basement but he's also canonically good at being a priest. he's so funny you should def try his mapo tofu i swear it's totally safe for human consumption and not made with any california reapers. did i mention he's a deadbeat dad.

he's absolutely insane. the coldhearted mercenary that barely reacts to anything is terrified of kirei. he's super fucked up. his ult in stay night is literally him channeling divine power into something called kyrie eleison. he's the vessel of rasputin (on account of being a priest with a huge....no i shant say) the biblical beast in grand order among other things. he gets drunk with and tops gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh in the church basement after gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh bats his eyes a little too hard at kirei in some of the horniest shot scenes ive ever seen. he also used to be a heretical "fixer" for the church, cleaning up scenes that would expose shit to the public. uhh what else. he holds cool swords between his fingers like a kid pretending to be wolverine but in my favorite route he just squares the hell up with the protagonist and they fight to the death outside planned parenthood

Firestar

Kitty jesus, he believes in starclan which is the kitty version of heaven/god and yea. All the warrior cats characters except those outside the clans or those that are atheist believe in the kitty heaven and would irl be bri-ish and christian as hell so. The authors are all older british christian women and so the way starclan is written is like undoubtedly that.

The main religion in the series is extremely catholic coded. Most clan cats believe in Starclan and the Dark Forest(or heaven and hell). There is a set of rule they must uphold and follow, where following them leads to heaven and breaking them leads to hell. Their religious leaders are sworn to celibacy, and the punishments that "code breakers"(or cats who break the rules) face are extremely similar to situations people with religious trauma have gone through.

Literally where do people get the idea that Jason was full of himself and that he thought he was better than Percy? This is legit brought up in so many 'why-i-hate-jason-grace" arguments it just screams lack of reading comprehension and obvious Percy bias saltiness. Like just say you are bitter that Jason is written as percy's equal and that you want Percy to have nobody rival him 💀

Never once in his povs did he ever think about how much better he was, on the contrary it's just him not feeling good enough about himself. He and Percy NEVER said anything bad about eachother.

His and Percy's rival is just a joke between two powerful demigods who have rival dads, that's literally it. Even if Jason did indeed think he's better, so what about it? What's the big deal?

he has worked hard and accomplished great things, so he has like, every right to be confident in his power, stop acting like hes all weak and inferior when he canonically killed a titan with like his bare fucking hands till the point Krios swore vengeance on him. No he's not "weak" or morally inferior to Percy as a person. You are merely trying to cope. Not to mention the way people judge a character's worth SOLEY based on their abilities is a huge red flag in itself, but that's a discussion for another time.

he shouldve canonically had more achievments and power than he originally got in the books as a son of jupiter. but rick made Percy too OP and fumbled jason for the sake of keeping percy's spotlight intact. Has it ever dawned on people that Percy is shown to have cool abilities like bending tears but Jason is never shown to have abilities like controlling lungs? Yeah, that's authors privilege for ya.

Y'all put Percy in an obnoxiously high pedestal and that's not a good thing. It diminishes his flaws and makes him appear so saint like and Gary Stu even though he's not. the fact that ppl get so sensitive over their rivalry and try to belittle jason by making up scenarios (like claiming jason thinks he's superior and shit) and go around saying that to ppl to reduce his value DESPITE being well aware that he has like enough hate already, is so insanely petty. BOTH Jason and Percy deserve equal amounts of respect.

God forbid a teenage boy say he's better than the other as a joke, he's such a terrible, stuck up, and shitty person who deserved death for that, isn't he?

Festivals with the OP Boys

Characters: f! reader x Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Ace

A/n: This is based off the (VERY Southern USA) festivals I’ve been to. I know these are not all universal experiences, so give me a little grace

Luffy

An absolute fiend at festivals. Thank god you’ve been saving up money for this. He heads straight for the carnival section without hesitation.

Did he hear eating contest??? If so, Luffy is entering it (and winning).

And you are cheering him on!! No surprise to either of you, he wins a nice berry prize (that you all spend immediately at the festival)

He wants all the prizes. He can’t pick, each one is cooler than the last. He finally asks you which one you love the most, and you point out a small stuffed animal. Of course, he finds the exact replica 10x bigger a few booths down and decides on that one.

He is DETERMINED to win you that giant stuffed animal. You know all those games are rigged so you remind him that it’s not a big deal.

But once Luffy puts his mind to something…well, you know how it goes.

Ends up breaking the bottles and putting a hole in the booth at the ball toss game. The guy gives you two stuffed animals just to get you all away from his booth.

You all are shuffled away, hand-in-hand, laughing so hard you’re almost crying. Luffy’s laugh is just so contagious

Now that he’s passed all the games, he finally notices it. All of the SUPER COOL RIDES!!!!

INSTANTLY takes off towards them and begins pulling you. Luckily, you know how to stand your ground with him. Unluckily, you’re dating a rubber man who can stretch and keep running.

You hold onto his ever-stretching hand while you stand in line to get ride tickets. At least he’ll be easy to find once you’re done.

He wants to ride all of the rides. Again and again. He’s obsessed with the crazy whip-around rides like the Sizzler, Zipper, and Drop Zone

You HAVE to ride with him too. He refuses to do it alone. He gives you those sweet puppy eyes when you object at first and you instantly cave.

LOVES LOVES LOVES THE FRIED FOOD. You had to stop taking him up to the order window because every time he saw something he immediately wanted it.

Just a constant switch between eating food and riding rides. You have no idea how he’s not getting sick.

Eventually you trade off riding partners and he starts riding with Zoro (“If you can’t handle a KIDS ride, Zoro, how are you going to be the best swordsman in the world??”)

Luffy pouts at first until he realizes that you have a different snack every time he gets off a ride, then he’s magically okay with this new decision.

Ends with fireworks and he loves them so much. Wants to go buy some so you guys can set them off on the ship every night

He carries everything back to the ship for you. You have a sinking suspicion those stuffed animals will have a permanent residence in his room, though

Zoro

Festivals aren’t really his style, but he knew you wanted to go, so he made an exception

Holds your hand the whole time (he knows that getting separated from you means he’ll be lost forever)

Will mock you for wanting to win a prize, and reminds you that it’s all a scam anyway.

However, after your second failed attempt, he can see you’re getting frustrated, so he takes over.

And of course wins you the biggest stuffed animal possible first try with a smirk on his face. You’re so happy you kiss him on the cheek in front of all those random people, which makes him turn beet red. He secretly is feeling great though because he won it first try!!!

He instantly has regret now because he has to carry it all day. He’s embarrassed at first but eventually he gets used to it and carries it around with pride.

After you win a prize, neither of you are really interested in sticking around the carnival portion. There’s so many people and noises it’d be easy for even you to get lost.

You all head to and stick to the quiet side parts of the festival instead. He likes to wander through the craft fair and selling booths with you.

He pays special attention to when your eyes linger on a certain item, or when you get excited about booths. He tries to keep a mental note of those things for future reference

Zoro isn’t a materialistic man, but he does like to buy you things every now and then (when he can afford it). He sees your eyes light up over a particular bracelet and when you try it on he can see how much you love it. “Keep it on” he whispers softly in your ear, and passes a few gold coins to the merchant.

You guys end your evening at a tea house, sipping on sake and munching on light snacks.

You stay there for a few hours, just enjoying the quiet and each others company.

He asks if you want to stay for fireworks, but honestly you’re exhausted. He gives you a piggy back ride back to the Sunny while carrying your giant stuffed animal.

You all pause for a moment when the fireworks begin, but after a few seconds you continue on your way back home.

Sanji

Of course he wants to try the food and critique it

It’s not exactly nutritious which he doesn’t like, but it is giving him some ideas on how to add different elements to his cooking

He knows he’s dragging you all over the food district to try the samples and the specials and he loves you so much for that (you don’t really mind though because hey free delicious food)

You all wander around and find the carnival section. You try the fried food, which is equal parts delicious and horrendous to the both of you

As you wander through the games, you see a really adorable stuffed animal and point it out to Sanji

You didn’t even say you wanted it. You just noted how cute it was. But oh he’s winning that thing for you now.

But he’s not very good at games unfortunately :/ especially luck based games

He tries to keep his cool but you can see he’s getting frustrated. It doesn’t help that his determination has sent you into short bursts of laughter

Finally FINALLY he picks the right one and wins you that cute adorable stuffed animal

You thank him with a peck on the cheek and he MELTS

At sunset he drags you to the Ferris wheel and you see him slip the guy a few coins

Magically you all end at the top of the Ferris wheel right as the sun sets over the sea!!! How coincidental!!!

“Y’know, when you’re at the top of the Ferris wheel, you’re supposed to-“

You cut him off by pulling him in for a long kiss. You’re both blushing hard by the time the Ferris wheel comes back down. You’re honestly a little surprised Sanji is still conscious.

Sanji has already picked out a perfect spot for you two to watch the fireworks. There’s a band playing in the main square and the music echos up to where you all are sitting on the hill. You dance together to the music while waiting for the fireworks to start.

Once the fireworks begin, you stand and watch in awe, embraced in each others arms.

You all walk back to the sunny arms linked. Your new stuffed animal in your arm and some festival-exclusive ingredients in his.

Ace

Wants to do every. single. thing. Doesn’t matter if he’s actually interested in it or not

He’s the kind of guy who’s at the festival all day long. There’s always something to do and you can’t miss out on anything. Hope you wore comfortable shoes (you didn’t).

His hands are always full. He has your hand in one and some kind of beverage or food in another.

Ace is the kind of person who switches between energetic puppy and lazy bones energy throughout the day, and you never really know when that switch will happen.

In the morning, you all wander through the craft fair. The crafts don’t really interest him, but he perks up a bit whenever he sees you interested in something.

You find a custom jewelry maker booth, and as you’re browsing the works, he gets the craftsman to make you a bracelet that matches the bead pattern on his hat. Now you can both match, and everyone knows who you belong to.

You play every single carnival game together at least once. Ace doesn’t even care if you guys are good at it. He just wants to try it. Theres some fun competition that exists during those games between the two of you that results in MANY small little prizes like goldfish, mini stuffed animals, and other silly trinkets.

You guys have won so many prizes by halfway through the carnival section, you can’t really hold anymore, so Ace starts giving them to kids as you pass by them. You’re stuck with the goldfish though. He’s already named it and very attached to it.

You all take a food break, and find the weirdest food you can. You find a nice shaded and quiet spot to eat in peace.

Ace naturally falls asleep on you while eating, and you use the few minutes he’s resting to people watch and just enjoy the quiet moments with him.

When he wakes up he is REELING for more adventure and things to do.

You all come across a mechanical bull riding event, and for one of the first times that day, Ace pulls away from you and drops your hand, bounding away to go sign up for it.

Before it starts, he tips his hat towards you and gives you that signature wink that makes your heart burst.

The devious part of you wanted to see him thrown off immediately, but he’s actually pretty good at it. He lasts a whole minute before he’s thrown face first into an inflatable cushion.

When he comes back to you, he instantly intertwines your fingers through his again. “Did you like the show?” He says with another wink, which results in a playful exchanges of shoves to one another.

You all ride a few carnival rides. You start out with some big rides like the Flying Swings and the Drop Zone, but the crazy rides aren’t mixing well with the food you ate earlier, so you opt for some less intense ones, like the Merry-Go-Round, Ferris wheel, and the Super Slide.

You two find a personal love for the Bumper Cars. You love the competitive side you all can embrace, but also (thanks to some extra silver) the ride operator let you two ride tandem a few times as well.

Theres a free concert occurring and you all grab a seat on the hill to enjoy the music. Ace runs and grabs some dinner for the two of you.

Instant regret for trusting him to pick out the food. He comes back with the most abhorrent monstrosity of fried food combo you’ve ever seen. And he does it with the widest, snide grin on his face. Bastard.

You all doze off to the music and wake up to the explosions of fireworks a little while later.

After the fireworks, you walk back together, with him occasionally poking you in the side, picking you up to spin you around, just random things to make you squeal and giggle.

Your feet are killing you when you get back to the ship, so he gives you a nice foot massage, bless his soul.

i’m someone who can’t get enough of (fake) stories from the time of cql shoot. so when i see a “story” that i haven’t before ( or maybe i did but forgot about it ), i get excited. lol. even if it’s not a juicy kind of information— i’m cool with it. 🤍 i like this one cause OP seems closer to wyb, it’s more of a short analysis of him & his relationship with XZ during that time.

W often catches up on sleep as soon as he gets on the car because he has a lot of engagements. He doesn’t talk much. Last year, he was not in good health. He had a cough and fever and went to get an IV drip at night. Many fans knew about it, so he talked even less in private. Later, I found that he talked a lot on the set. This is a matter of opinion. He needs to refresh himself when he is so tired.

But he does have a good relationship with X. He is not very outgoing, so he should not have many friends, but he is not the kind of person who really looks down on others and does not talk. Many times he does not know what to say (personal feeling hahaha), so he does not start a conversation. Some people are like this, thinking that it may not be meaningful to say it, so they do not say it. He has changed a lot in recent years, and this drama he has successfully made friends with X.

W didn’t communicate much with me. After all, we had never met before, so I could understand the distance. Once, I was discussing tomorrow’s arrangements with the coordinator. He had just finished shooting a scene and passed by me and suddenly asked me if I had a hemostatic patch (this is a consumable item in the crew, and I had just used it up and didn’t bring a new one). I was shocked. I said no, and he didn’t say anything and seemed to go to the bathroom. Later, I don’t know where he asked, but it was a very girly pattern. I feel that he may have asked around, but I didn’t see him use it. That day, I saw a new hemostatic patch on X’s leg, but it wasn’t the one that was used by the transporter?! When I was chatting with the coordinator, I found out that someone had given it to X first, and W saw it and quietly put away the one with the girly pattern. At that time, he had just joined the crew not long ago. Because we were really not familiar with each other, he might have felt that it was too obvious and a bit embarrassing.

W and X have a lot of scenes together. As the main characters, they interact a lot, much more than what is shown. X is not as talkative as the footage shows. On the contrary, he is a person who cares about other people's feelings. In the footage, we can only say that he was: 1. He fainted from the heat (he almost had a heat stroke), 2. He was too tired, and 3. He didn't expect that everyone would exaggerate it. W was the same. He was just joking and making faces, just like everyone would have some such pranks when they were in school. When he felt something was wrong, he quickly changed the subject.

The main reason was that it was really tiring and hot at that time. Every time I went to the scene, I felt that I could get a heat stroke at any time. They also wore long robes with wide sleeves, which was very hard (W didn't dare to eat too much to maintain the fairy feeling of the character) In short, although this matter fermented a lot, it did not have any substantial impact on the relationship between the two. At that time, the crew also knew that this was their childish behavior and was used to it. After all, they were like this all the time. The two are ordinary people who are more casual in private. If they have a good relationship, they will definitely play around, but they will not be fussy about such trivial matters. W's personality is very interesting. He will suddenly act weird and then return to being calm. When he acts weird, he acts seriously. When he is silent, he is serious. I later thought that this kind of personality may have something to do with his love of street dance, motorcycles, and skateboards. After that, W's hand was a little swollen. I found some ice cubes to apply to him and it stopped swelling, but it looked painful. There were still a few scenes that day, but he didn't tell me because he didn't want to delay the progress. He applied ice when he left the camera. Because he had to go to the hospital for an IV drip after work, I thought I would deal with it together.

The strangest thing about this incident was not his behavior, but that X did not see W come down to apply ice, and came over to ask if his hand was okay. W directly stretched out his hand to show him, twisting it vigorously, shaking his fingers flexibly, trying to prove that he was fine, but X grabbed his wrist and looked at it clearly. He believed it a little. I was about four or five meters away at the time.

The director often asked them to be more ambiguous. At the beginning, it was quite awkward because they were not familiar with each other, but it was fine after they got used to it. X made a lot of small moves, and W would shout his name when he couldn't stand it anymore. W was very smart and could find the door. He didn't lose to X at the beginning. It was forbidden to move. It was common for them to insult and fight each other.

Many people are talking about the drinking scene, so I'll share another one. After the day's shooting, W took off his makeup and walked unsteadily. After walking out of the studio, he was looking for something. I said the car was over there (the exit was narrow and the car was a little further away). He said he knew, and then he turned around and pounced behind me, which scared me. I subconsciously turned around and hid, and found that X also came out, but he hadn't taken off his makeup yet. W stuck to him like an octopus. X was also scared, and his wig was pulled by W, and X screamed in pain. His assistant came out the next second and quickly pulled W away. I reacted and supported W. X was not angry, and told me that W had secretly drunk some more later and might be really drunk, so he asked me to make some honey water for him to sober up. I said okay, thinking where would I find honey water in the middle of the night. W is very thin, but very strong. X's assistant couldn't pull him away completely.

I am a little anxious, but I can’t say anything, I can only worry.

X was in a good mood, and cheerfully patted him and said, "Isn't W laoshi known for not getting drunk even if he drinks a lot?"

W didn't refute, and hugged him so tightly that I felt X was about to suffocate, and then X said: "It's late, see you tomorrow." W let go as if he had suddenly lost his temper, reluctant to let go, wanting to look at X but not daring to. I don't know why, but I felt that he was a little sad.

X joked with him: "Go back after you graduate from kindergarten.

W said sullenly: "I will definitely beat you next time."

X changed his tone of voice and complained: "W wants laoshi to win everything. save me from losing a few times, okay?"

I went back to the hotel and asked X's assistant who the winner was. She said that the two of them competed to see who could talk in the other's ear without blushing, and the loser would drink a small sip. I was speechless. No wonder he rarely played mobile games last night, and went to sleep after chatting on WeChat (he got off work earlier yesterday). It turned out that he was saving his energy to play this today (wrong). I asked again, "No one took the photo (mainly referring to the fans who were waiting there.)" She said that it should not be possible, because the place where the two people were standing was difficult to take a photo.

A very long post of doodles relating to @theminecraftbee ‘s smallishsona AU (sorry for the tag again). I think of this AU while wandering Tartarus, so, I’ve had a lot of time to think. This post is really long and has a lot of rambling so, I’m putting it all under the cut. I’m sorry world I have too many words and rambles in me

First up, character designs!

I used primarily their mc skins for design, with only a few rl things thrown in. But, I didn’t bring them up so the colors are off a bit.

Starting off with Joel:

He’s following the persona protagonist tradition of mostly wearing the school uniform correctly, but with some minor embellishments. I’m still debating whether or not to add more, but w/e. His signature color is green.

Then Skizz and Impulse:

The greatest dichotomy of time to design, Impulse I knocked out on the second go, but I’ve done many iterations of Skizz and I still am not satisfied with this design. The ripped sleeves looked too out there (to me, at least) but nothing else seems to work so I settled for the shirt under uniform shirt look. Something I struggled with that these two emphasize is making them look like teenagers, and what they look like, and also keep to the anime style, and also my own incompetence with drawing facial features so It’s something all of these lack in. Impulse is yellow, and Skizz is blue.

Scar and Grian are next up, Scar’s facial Scar is from summoning his persona, because he stabbed himself in the face lol. Not much to say about these guys, I settled on orange for Scar and red for grian, which I am still struggling with beacause mumbo:

is ALSO red. So I guess they are just, both? red? If you look at the party select screens in persona though, the characters have pretty strong color coding, so I guess I’ll figure something out. If anyone is still reading: help. Anyway, mumbo wins the award for wearing the uniform the most normal (except for the tie)

Last but not least, Gem!

She’s wearing a longer skirt than the usual uniforms and also some big-ass boots. Also, she’s a sea monster thing? So, I was thinking, staring at SEES cool new uniform things and thinking about the Phantom Thieves and how cool their outfits are and realized the persona games have at least some design change to separate their daily looks from shadow hunting. Even if it is only glasses in p4 lol. So, I thought maybe weapon holsters? but, that seemed a little too generic. So! I decided to combine how I normally draw the hermits (and a lot of the fandom does) as having non-human traits as the big things setting their combat looks apart. It is both a) fun to draw, b) creates an eye catching and distinctive design for combat and c) is really funny. I thought it was funny so I drew a comic about it:

and here’s a sketch of what everyone looks like and also the transformation gives them very distinct eyes, for no reason other than I think it looks cool:

mumbo is a normal human btw (or at least, he appears to be)

Welp,that’s all I got. If I look at these drawings any longer I will hate them so here they are, yippee. Also, Bee/OP, sorry for exploding; I am into persona and hermitcraft right now so this AU is like a perfect storm to give me brain rot.

I love so much that “Bepo is Law’s weakness” is arguably canon. It’s not “Law’s weakness is cute things” like some ppl in fandom try to say since Law is pretty visibly unaffected by Chopper, little kids, all the standard “cute things” in OP. It’s literally just Bepo and his cuteness that has an effect on Law, and we see it in reaction to Bepo going “🥺” when Bepo was sick, letting Bepo hug him all the time, taking Bepo to Uta concert only bc he knows Bepo wants to go, etc. LawBepo is such a perfect ship, massively underrated ship frfr 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Bepo is special he is spoiled and coddled and can do anything he wants with barely a word from Law. i do think Law is good with kids but Bepo is a grown man - his best friend

and as much as some lawbepo non-shippers want to see them as parent and child -you dont see someone YOU grew up with. YOU were children at the same time with - and grew up alongside each other as a CHILD. You just don't see them as that, it's nonsense. Yes he is like law's little brother but not a child

(i call him Law's baby like 20 times a day but that's in a way that a cute girlfriend is "baby")

Saying all this to say that "oh Law is weak to Bepo's cuteness because he is like Law's baby" (implying child) or even worse = when people call him a pet They grew up together - 4 year difference is forgotten about -you are peers - yes of course Bepo is both subordinate and looks up to Law as an stronger smarter leader etc. but thats not a parental dynamic at all.

its a very serious, rational and collected guy and his favorite guy who he spoils in big and little ways and have been spoiling him their whole lives...

i love that Law saved Bepo from getting his ass beat and dying alone and brought him home and they just stayed in that dynamic their whole life and both became adults but this "Bepo is precious and weak af and i love him" pretty much didn't change.

and Bepo is so comfortable with it. novel was Law focused so it never gave Bepo an "I'LL TO PROVE MYSELF TO YOU THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO PROTECT ME ALL THE TIME I CAN HOLD MY OWN" arc - and that would make sense for his character if there was time/desire to focus on him but because of those constraints Bepo bypassed that and i kinda love it? (you can call it another of many copes of mine idc) but him NOT having a standart "little brother" arc is awesome, Bepo is very comfortable in his role and when he speaks its always

"I'll do my best for you and help where i can because you are so amazing" there is zero of his own ego. He is comfortable in his "lower rank" role, he doesn't strive to be Law's equal he knows he can't be! Law san is the greatest!!

Law is happy with it too because he is a protector in nature (look at his bigass crew ;-;♥) so bepo being HAPPY to be protected makes him happy too. It makes Law feel strong and good, it plays on his ego in a positive way being looked up to and sought out as a protector - yes it's pressure (that Bepo does his best to elevate) but it's not negative and Law takes it happily, it's good to feel needed. And it all started with Bepo and they preserved that - Law is always strong and cool leader and protector and Bepo is always UUUU CAPTAIN 🥺😭🥺😭🥺😭

they are the best and i love them so much it's such a special dynamic and it makes Law's character so much better

Egghead is such an interesting arc that's bringing so many characters from previous arcs into the play here back together.

Where Wano arc was like 'who are these new samurai-like characters?' And 'who are these completely new henchmen of the big villains?' And 'You get another 10 to 100 new important characters, and let's give them all backstories and aspirations.' (And basically all previous arcs were like that as well, except for a few connecting threads or hints between important stories and characters)

But a lot of Egghead has a sense comforting nostalgia because of characters we've known (of) before, being brought up to re-connect with Strawhats, or the story itself, in new yet familiar ways.

(And I know I say nostalgia, even though it's only been half a year of reading OP for me, but still!)

Vegapunk? Oh yeah, he's been mentioned during Enies Lobby when Koby was telling Luffy about the cool inventions the Marines have now, and later Franky was thrown at his homeland island during the TimeSkip.

Kuma? The warlord guy to whom Zoro offered his life instead of Luffy's on Thriller Bark? The same dude who sent all Strawhats all across the world when they weren't strong enough? Even Dragon and Ivankov are there from time to time. Robin and her past gets brought up again!

Jewelry Bonney? Sabaody arc too. Same with Kizaru & Sentomaru and other Marine guys. Kid & Law's crews too.

On other parts of the seas is Buggy plotting a new alliance with Mihawk and Crocodile. Yes, they don't like each other, but they do, but they don't. It's complicated.

Vivi is there for a hot second, and Alabasta still has an important unfinished tale to tell.

Shanks, too? Shanks, too.

Wait, Rob Lucci is back too? The guy that Luffy defeated during Enies Lobby? He's an even bigger leopard cat and Kaku's an even weirder giraffe. Yes, they got stronger too, just like all Strawhats.

More spies? Yes. More clones? Yes.

And now Giants of Elbaf are there? Dorry and Brogy! It's been so long since the Little Garden arc! One of the very first arcs on the Grand Line! But they all remember that time with so much nostalgia and fondness to see each other again!

And because of Vegapunk, the whole world is about to be connected to witness something together. From Luffy's village to Dressrosa to Elbaf. It's really more visible now how this whole arc was created for all these familiar faces to come back together (as well as diving more into some of theirs characters/backstories, including the Five Elders), to share the moment of the Egghead Incident, whatever that still may be.

I have this thought for quite some time, coming mostly from my twitter and Reddit interactions.

I kinda love the amount of hate I see towards Buggy. People hate how Oda loves this clown and keeps bringing him up, how he is getting more connections to story, how he gets that high bounty. They hate him because he doesn’t have powers, or isn’t smart.

And the fact that so many of them try to cope by putting Mihawk in place of Buggy is incredible. Mihawk is not some lost friend who is having insanely deep contention to shanks, BUGGY IS.

But I guess he’s not “cool and powerful” enough and they don’t get why shanks could be friends with “someone like that” (actual take I saw a lot).

I can’t wait for buggy to be more important just to see everyone lose their minds. If he gets to laugh tale, the best day of my life. And I’m not even that big on Buggy

These takes make me so angry because they're just??? Not true at all??? Most of these opinions come from the general audience and dudebros who don't take the time to analyze Buggy and just accept his character the way other characters see him. Instead of stopping for a second and thinking about why he does what he does and why Oda likes him so much, they just assume he's the lame clown everyone in the OP world thinks he is. Which is, in my opinion, extremely sad. And you don't even have to analyze shit?? Like, okay, I get it. Chapter 1082 is crucial for his character and perhaps if you don't read that you might think he's useless and Oda uses him too much for what he actually does for the story (bullshit, by the way, I'm just trying to find a reasoning behind their shitty takes). But after reading 1082??????????? Okay???? Whatever. Buggy haters get on my nerves, not because they don't like Buggy, but because they don't understand him.

Saying Buggy isn't smart is uhhh. It's just not true. The fact that he's constantly placed next to the biggest, most feared, and strategic pirates in the world just doesn't help him at all to prove that, tbh. I'd be scared af if I had gone through all the things he has, honestly. Like- People- People just ignore Water 7 and the whole thing with Usopp being a coward but wanting to be more than that because of his dream and that being scared doesn't necessarily mean something bad??? I think people just forget entire arcs and scenes to post these things. Buggy might not be the bravest but he understands the pirate world better than anybody and he's genuinely smart, he's just constantly placed in situations that force his character to be scared af (for obvious reasons) and everyone looks down on him for that. Which makes total sense for his character because his whole thing is feeling inferior and being compared to others when he has many talents himself. He isn't dumb, he just has the worst luck in the whole fucking world. Or the best. It sort of depends.

I think he lost his bravery and sense of adventure when he gave up on his dream, but now that he's being more confident in the fact that he could achieve it, we will see him using his full potential. And I am so, so excited for that. The speech he gives in chapter 1082 changed my life and it's easily my favorite chapter from the whole manga. I really, really hope they do something with that. I want him to have all the wonderful scenes he deserves.

And, okay, about the Mihawk thing: I don't agree with that that much? Like, okay, I can see people often making Mishanks relationship more than what it actually is, but tbf, Mihawk is barely a character here because Oda hasn't given him screentime of his own. He's always there for another character (Shanks, Zoro, Cross guild, etc). What we do know about him is that he went all his way to find Shanks and tell him about Luffy?? Like. Okay, babe, I know what you are. What we do know is that Shanks and him have something going on and I would really like to know WHAT exactly. I'm not even a huge Mishanks shipper but I completely understand why people like it. I prefer other ships like Shuggy and Cross Guild but, well, I don't think they use Mihawk to take over Buggy's place. I think they just want Mihawk to have some story because Oda barely gives him one. But I can see where you're coming from, though. I can see a lot of people using Shuggy's dynamic for them sometimes and it bothers me because these two have their own thing and they could easily just?? Ship both things??

People saying they don't understand why Shanks would be friends with somebody like Buggy is so funny to me, because we barely know anything about Shanks either, lmfao. He's the cool and powerful role model of the main character. He's literally the most cliché thing in the whole wide world, shut up. And I absolutely love him and he has wayyy more personality than these types of characters usually have, but I am tired of seeing takes like this as if Buggy wasn't one of the most interesting characters in this manga. But, also, Shanks would just?? Kick these people's asses for this shit. Saying you don't understand why Shanks would be friends with Buggy is just admitting you think the same way people in-world think about him, which is just admitting you don't understand his character. At least people in-world think that way because they don't know Buggy's story. You know Buggy's story. You should know why Shanks is friends with him and cares so much about him. But also?? Even if Buggy truly was a fucking loser with no talent and no dreams. Saying Shanks needs a reason for being friends with him is so dumb. Have you considered that... Sometimes... Most of the time... People don't have a reason for being friends with somebody and you don't need to find a reason for somebody's love?? Like- Perhaps Shanks just fucking loves Buggy because that's his childhood friend and he doesn't care about his abilities or talents. Perhaps he just loves him for who he is. I don't think it's that hard to understand, honestly.

You're not that big on Buggy, but I am. I really am. He's probably getting a tragic ending with Shanks but I do not care. If he ever gets to Laugh Tale or- Or if he ends up believing in himself finally. If he gets closure with him (which he will get, because Oda loves these two too much to leave them without closure). I will be the happiest person in the whole world. My mind and body say "Luffy king of the pirates!!" but my heart cries of happiness every time I think about Buggy being the king. I love him so fucking much.

Author's Note: so much happens in this chapter! i really hope you all enjoy it, and apologies for the delay! ♥♥ finally get to be reunited with malleus next chapter !

Earlier that day....

There weren't many things that surprised Lilia Vanrouge nowadays. Part of it was just his age — 700+ years of living would do that to anybody. The other part was that, in his last year at Night Raven College, he had pretty much seen it all, thanks to an otherworldly traveler who, despite being magicless, had fought off a plethora of overblots and managed to practically unite the school.

Leave it to this little human to be the one to surprise him once more.

Lilia Vanrouge had been enjoying his retirement, living a cozy life away from all the chaos and spending his days picking up new hobbies, improving his cooking, and playing video games. Today was gaming day since a new event was starting in the co-op him and Idia were currently playing, but as he was setting up his computer, he decided to check his phone. There was no reason to, but something in him was compelled to pick it up and open up Magicam...

Only to see that one person he thought would never be seen again was online.

Lilia's eyebrows raised. Nobody had her account information, but the account was kept up for classmates to look back and reminisce.

Before he could even do anything, a text came through from Idia, talking about how he was still caught up in something and might not be able to play today. Naturally, Lilia immediately asked if it was about the former Ramshackle prefect's sudden online presence, only to earn a 'what???????'.

The old fae hadn't planned on spending his day on the phone with Idia trying to figure out what was going on, but that's how it ended up.

"IDK how this is happening... ugh, terrible timing, too..." Idia grumbled over the phone.

"Ahh, that's right. You're still working on those missing persons cases, right?" That... was another worrisome thing.

Idia was silent for a moment. "Yeah... Nobody has been found yet."

Lilia couldn't offer any reassurances, but he did know that their previous classmates going missing was certainly worrisome. Among other things going on in the world... He wondered if it was related to the prefect's return.

Idia clearly thought the same thing. "Ortho's running a scan now. Are we having a sequel or something..?"

"Big Brother! The signal is gone!"

Sure enough, the prefect was no longer online. Lilia could hear Idia's groaning over the line, and after a bit more talking, the two hung up with Lilia mentioning he would tell Idia if it happened again.

With this on top of three former NRC students missing... Lilia couldn't help the foreboding feeling in his chest that he may be having to come out of retirement.

Idia Shroud couldn't stop thinking about the earlier phone call with Lilia and the fact that the former Ramshackle prefect had been online. Even if it was only for moments, it was still bugging him. He didn't need this added stress — and as cool as the prefect was, there was trouble wherever she went. Not that she wanted said trouble, but she unfortunately had that main character energy that naturally attracted it. Cool, but completely overwhelming for Idia at times.

Pouring over the files in front of him, Idia kept on going over the security footages of the latest disappearance. Due to the nature of the disappearances, STYX had been tasked to look into them — and since Idia had gone to school with the victims, they were hoping to get added insight.

So of course, this meant more work for Idia. And he would complain that it dug into his video game time (especially since Project Idol came out with a new installment), but deep down he was worried. Not just for the ones who disappeared, but if things kept up... He had a feeling it wasn't going to stop.

"Big Brother! The prefect is online again!"

This caught Idia's attention.

Immediately switching monitors, Idia had started to try and track the location signal. Moments later, his phone started ringing, and Idia picked it up.

"I know, I'm on it," Idia told Lilia curtly.

The signal was weak — but it was there. Idia could hear conversation in the background on the phone, but he didn't pay much attention to it as he continued to trace the signal.

PING.

"Got it!" Idia cheered a bit too loudly, cringing at himself immediately. Thankfully, Lilia didn't comment on his voice and instead asked Idia to send the location. Idia did moments later — better Lilia than him. He did not want to travel and see what the hell was going on over there.

"Wait— Malleus!"

Idia cringed as he heard Lilia's stern voice call out to him, using his first name rather than his newly-appointed title. After a few moments, Lilia sighed. "That child... I suppose I'll follow him. Maybe it's for the best. I was getting outta practice as it is!" Despite the bravado of cheer, Lilia sounded bone-weary.

"Um.. yeah. GL, HF," Idia told Lilia, who chortled and thanked him before hanging up.

And Idia couldn't help to think once more about how everything happening was probably connected right now.

Keeping an eye on the signal to make sure it didn't disappear once more, Idia went back to work, rapidly typing away at his keyboard.

"Ace?!"

Even through the bad resolution that was no doubt the product of terrible service, you would recognize the two faces anywhere. Six years had passed since you had last seen them, but they still looked more-or-less the same, if not more mature. Just by a bit, though.

"YO it's actually you!" Ace exclaimed, the audio cutting out a bit. You could see Deuce attempting to shove more of himself into the frame.

"Dude, move over!"

You were quick to cut them off before they started bickering. "How... Shit, I mean— what the fuck is going on?!"

It was hard to get your thoughts together. So much was happening, between the mirror and the earthquakes and now this! You struggled to wrap your head around it all, and you knew it was all connected somehow. There was no way it wasn't.

"We don't know either," Deuce responded. "But it's bad over here!" The audio started to glitch out worse. "Riddle is — ing!"

"Wait, what? I can barely hear you!"

"Riddle is missing!" Ace said louder, static still crackling.

"Wait, what?!" You repeated, although this time you did hear them, you just couldn't believe it. Riddle was missing?! How the hell was that possible?

They started to say something else just as the ground began to shake again. It started out gentle before it seemed to get worse. You vaguely heard Yuna call your name as you toppled onto the grass, your phone nearly flying out of your grasp as you waited for the tremors to stop. Almost distantly you could hear people screaming, car alarms going off violently at the earthquake.

You weren't sure how long this one lasted. Between Ace and Deuce yelling for you, Yuna yelling by your ear, the screaming and the car alarms... It was overwhelming. You squeezed your eyes shut, fists clenching at the grass as you waited for it to stop.

Even when it did, you felt as if the world was still trembling around you. You were barely aware as Yuna helped you to your feet. She looked disheveled and frazzled; no doubt you matched her appearance.

"Are you okay?" Yuna asked, her glasses askew. You nodded.

"You?"

She gave you a shaky nod, before her eyes widened, looking behind you.

"Wha...?"

You turned around to see what she was looking at, only to feel the blood leave your face.

The mirror wasn't just leaking blot — it was now bubbling, hitting the grass in acidic splashes that killed the plant life.

"Guys..." You turned to face the phone camera at the mirror, hearing broken up exclamations from your friends at the sight.

"Is that blot?!"

Deuce spoke up over Ace. "I thought your world didn't have magic!"

"It doesn't!" But even despite the irrefutable fact that magic didn't exist in your world, the blot kept pouring fourth, covering the entire surface of the mirror and pooling dangerously on the ground around it. You dragged Yuna back with you as you noticed the pool of blot getting closer and closer to your feet.

What were you even supposed to do in this situation?! It's not like you could just magic it away!

"You have more of those magic friends, right?" Yuna asked, grabbing at your arm without tearing her gaze away from the mirror. You nodded, your mouth dry.

"Uh... yeah."

"Can you Instalive it? Or whatever their version of Instagram is called?"

That was... Actually a good idea.

"Guys, I'm hanging up to live stream this in hopes others will see this," you told them.

"WAIT—"

You hung up before they could say 'goodbye'. Unfortunately, you didn't have a lot of time right now. Fumbling with the Magicam app, you managed to get to the livestream feature, immediately making sure the camera was facing the mirror as you hurriedly began to try and explain the situation. You noticed a couple of usernames, but tried to ignore the comments as Cater immediately started to bombard you.

"What the hell is that."

You looked over your phone at the mirror, only to see in horror what was rising up from it.

A blot creature.

Well, sort of.

It was clearly fashioned out of blot, but it didn't look like the previous blot monsters you had faced off again. It was a lot smaller, with a dripping, goopy head rather than a glass bulb. It almost looked like a Kingdom Hearts villain, but more... Malleable? Liquid?

Either way, it definitely didn't bring forth any positive feelings.

And of course, because life really liked testing you, more of these mini blot monsters started to form.

"Oh fuck me," you muttered under your breath. Before you could even say anything in the live stream to see if somebody had an idea to help, your phone powered off, dead. Probably for the best — you were going to need both hands for whatever shit this was about to be.

Yuna called out your name in a panic as you both backed up. Those who were outside immediately noticed the monsters appearing, phone cameras popping out to video this when all you wanted to do was to yell at them to fucking run!

But... the monsters didn't seem to care much about you or anybody else around. They all started to crawl towards your dorm. Exchanging confused glances at Yuna, you tried to think of what the hell could be important in the dorm unless something was hidden in there.

Like, say, a shoebox under your bed.

You swore again. "Yuna, we have to get back to the room."

"Are you out of your mind?!"

"I think they're after something I brought back from Twisted Wonderland!"

"Then let them have it!"

You gave her an exasperated look before sighing. You didn't have time to argue this right now! Shaking your head and gritting your teeth, you started to run towards the dorm, ignoring the burn in your legs and lungs. Yuna cried out in frustration behind you before following you.

It was nice to know that your current roomie was apparently a ride or die at the very least.

"If we get killed, I'm going to kill you!" she shouted at you as the two of you ran into the building, avoiding the monsters as if they were the plague. You skidded to a stop by the door, grabbing the fire extinguisher mounted crookedly on the wall. It wasn't a great weapon... But it was better than trying to square up with a blot monster with your bare hands and wet noodle arms.

The weird thing about these monsters was that they didn't have the helmet heads. Without hesitation, you swung the fire extinguisher down on one that got too close to you and Yuna, only for it to immediately splatter into harmless ink all over you both and the walls. Some got in your mouth, tasting like dirt and ash. Ew.

Ignoring Yuna's commentary, you continued to run up the stairs, mind racing. The blot didn't sting — not that you were complaining, of course. Not to mention there were so many, and as long as you didn't get in their way, they didn't seem aggressive. And that made you wonder...

Was it actually blot? Or was it the product of somebody's unique magic?

Maybe you were overthinking it. You tended to do that a lot, paranoia being one of your best friends, but there was a hell of a good reason for that. Your time in Twisted Wonderland had unfortunately taught you to be wary and cautious of everybody you met, to suspect everybody had ulterior motives.

Besides — how else could this all be happening? Somebody had to be behind it. But if they were, were they behind the earthquakes and other disasters happening?

Ugh. You wished you had more time to think, but time was of the essence.

"There's so many...!"

Yuna was kicking at them, and a part of you feared of her after you saw her splatter three without breaking a sweat.

Note to self: don't ever get kicked by Yuna.

Thankfully, there were none of these monsters in your dorm room yet. Shutting the door behind yourselves, you immediately went to pull the shoebox out from under your bed, trying to sift through the items.

"Um?! Do we have time to go through everything right now?!"

. . . Yuna had a point. Grabbing your backpack, you started to dump all of the items inside, one of them catching your attention. Without thinking twice, you caught it, gazing at the shimmering green gem stone.

It was a simple necklace, with a silver chain and what was apparently green sapphire. It looked simple, but considering the gift giver, it no doubt cost more than your college tuition.

"Come on!"

Slipping the necklace on, you grabbed the backpack and started to leave the dorm room — only to get swarmed. Yuna shrieked, kicking one away from you and stomping on it as you two traversed the narrow hallways once more to leave the dorm. Now the monsters seemed to be targeting you, which proved your theory right. Something in that shoebox was attracting them. But what the hell was it?

Progress was annoyingly slow but eventually you and Yuna made it out in the fresh air again. There seemed to be no end of the small monsters, and you could feel yourself getting winded. Yuna didn't look much better.

"What now?" she asked. You didn't have an answer, grimacing as one got you with sharp claws through your jeans.

"Hell if I know," you responded breathlessly. Wait until the cops show up? What could they even do?

The ground started to shake again. It hindered the monsters as much as it hindered you, and you and Yuna held onto each other, attempting to stay upright to no avail. It didn't take long for both of you to topple like dominos — the pavement you were standing on was less forgiving than the grass you fell on earlier, but you could barely focus on the numbing pain as you saw the ground cracking a few feet away from where you and Yuna were.

Through the earthquake, you could shakily make out something larger leaving the mirror, squeezing through and ballooning out. Yuna watched it with wide, horrified eyes; you were sure your expression mirrored hers.

It was nothing like the small menaces from before. This thing was the size of your dorm, with large, bat-like, inky wings that dripped blot threateningly. On it's head was the signature black helmet of a blot monster, and its talons tore up the grass as it stepped out of the mirror.

It was horrifying.

And it was the exact same creature from your nightmares.

As the ground stopped shaking, you pulled yourself and Yuna up, your legs feeling both like jelly and lead at the same time.

"Run," you breathed, tapping Yuna's arm without looking at her. "RUN!"

The two of you started to bolt just as the blot monster swooped down, cleaving through the pavement and causing you and Yuna to dive in separate directions. You barely registered the stinging scrape of pavement against your flesh, scrambling to your feet as the monster instantly turned to you.

Welp... At least Yuna will hopefully be safe, because there was absolutely no chance you could dodge this one.

Flinching as the monster dove straight at you, you couldn't help but call out the one person you needed most, wishing for one last time to have been able to see him.

"MALLEUS!"

And if you opened your eyes, you would have noticed the fireflies appearing around you.

Ideas for an "After The Storm" game with the save bae ending?

If I had control to make ‘After the Storm’ it would probably be pretty damn close to The Girls Who Broke the World by GeneralIrritation over on AO3. It’s one of my favorite LiS fics and my favorite fic for exploring the cause of Max’s powers. I’ll expand on my reasons under the cut but if you haven’t read it and don’t want to be spoiled go read it! It’s great !!

it’s full sequel the setting HAS to be Arcadia Bay. The OG game is just too connected to the town itself to not be set there. Pulling Max and Chloe completely out of there just feels… wrong. One of the best things about LiS is that they knew how to set the vibes of all the areas so well.

‘Ah but I asked for After the Storm with Save the Bae’ yes you did anon- the game should NOT be set in the same exact timeline that the player been able to play in. This 1) keeps the game from making a single choice canon (which they’ve been trying to keep from doing) and 2) keeps the players on their toes.

In keeping with the idea of being in the same setting- the vibe has to be similar. A lot of post canon fics tend to go mores the sci-fi part because of Max’s powers (which can be pretty cool) but LiS is a mystery with some horror. Rachel’s disappearance lingers over the entire game as does Kate’s attempted suicide and Chloe’s repeated brushs with death. Just because there is a lot of cute moments and kinda cringe dialogue doesn’t mean we should forget that vibe.

I brought up The Girls Who Broke the World for a lot of reasons and one of the biggest is because it takes a very similar vibe- if not one that’s a bit more … I wouldn’t quite say mature but perhaps more adult. It’s a straight up murder mystery instead of Chloe and Max’s flat refusal of treating Rachel’s disappearance as such. There’s more death and drugs - though never anything too outrageous for the setting.

And keeping the bay also keeps the characters. LiS has GREAT characters. All the minor characters are just great. Any sequel has to at least try and bring back as many as possible and keeping the setting helps with that.

Max can’t have her powers. I love Max’s powers and I’m a HUGE fan of her keeping them post canon but her powers are op as all fuck if the game actually let you use them to the extent they should be able to.

But if I know I would want to explore the cause of her powers. Later LiS games clearly go with the theme of the characters getting them just because but that never worked with me with Max. Alex’s powers felt like a part of her, they’re something she’s been dealing with and have been growing stronger while Max’s just kinda appeared ?

So basically in TGWBTW (such a long title lol) Max doesn’t have her powers. The fic is from Chloe’s point of view and set a few years post canon with them having spilt up at some point after ‘canon’. Chloe has become something like a fixer with minor drug dealers in Arcadia Bay and gets mixed in with a murder mystery. It takes awhile for the reader to start putting together the pieces on what happened: Max used the picture to travel to the bathroom and instead of letting Chloe died Max jumped in front of the gun. Max’s powers end up not really being ‘hers’ and the last fic expands on some of the dropped hints like the Prescotts.

I think something like that- where you play as Chloe who has no memory of Hell week while Max does is really cool.

Game Roundup 2023: Part 4 (The Final Part)

Okay, this final post is going to be (unfortunately) mostly just a list of things I've read because it turns out I've read A LOT this year! First, let's highlight a few things.

FIST: Ultra Edition by CLAYMORE

This game is mechanically tight. Play all your action team/spec ops/military sim without too much sim fantasies! It's already spawned a ton of additional content and hacks!

Slugblaster by Mikey Hamm

Teens! Dimensional skateboarding! Goopy creatures! What DOESN'T this game have? It's Forged in the Dark but honestly it iterates on that system in a way that is perfect to me. Really slims things down AND makes downtime better with built-in character arcs to pursue. Plus a thriving fan community that's made a lot of cool content (yours truly included).

Voidheart Symphony by Minerva McJanda

This was pitched to me as Persona the TTRPG. (I have not played Persona). The thing I find fascinating about it is that you're using different rules depending on whether you're in The Kingdom or The City. It's gorgeously laid out, and I'm excited to run it!

Dream Askew/Dream Apart by Avery Alder and Benjamin Rosenbaum

I had to pick up the OG Belonging Outside Belonging game(s) at GenCon and I waasn't disappointed. One game has you playing a bunch of queer post-apocalyptic survivors. The other has you playing an alternate history of a Jewish settlement.

CBR+PNK by Emanoel Melo

Another one I picked up from GenCon! The design on this one is TIGHT. if you have the chance to get a physical copy, do it! The presentation is unrivaled. This is cyberpunk FitD.

Everyone’s talking about the new OP and how weird it comes off, but I feel like enough people ARENT talking about the ED just…completely ignoring Bakugo’s growth as a character and the role he plays in the vigilante arc, and it frustrates me.

I am willing to give a pass to Bakugo in the memory montage. Izuku running through the memories he has with all his classmates through the ED is a nice expansion on one of my favorite panels in chapter 318, and that panel is infamous for having Bakugo be the only person not facing him while he's smiling.

But the fact that even at the end of the ED, when all of Izuku's friends are together and trying to bring him home, Bakugo still looks like THIS

This is the same Bakugo that humbled himself in front of all their classmates, bared his soul, and admitted how shitty he was. The same Bakugo that said "I know Deku better than anyone else", again in a room full of his classmates. The same Bakugo that's already admitted that he was pushing Izuku away out of guilt and realized how wrong that was because there's never a guarantee that you'll be around long enough to make up with people you've wronged. THAT Bakugo...is currently sneering at Izuku because he's too cool to soften up for TWO SECONDS.

Honestly, no fucking wonder so many people still don't like Bakugo-the anime takes every opportunity to make him as shitty as possible (and then the dub doubles down). I've given up at this point. I would retreat to the manga, but....well, manga readers know

hi! if you dont mind me asking, what was satoru's relationship with suguru? bcuz, any of the jjk characters are barely mentioned in the book, ive always wondered satoru's relationship with all of them, like is it more canon based or more fanon, like was sugusato ever a thing? or, is hawks the first real relationship gojo's ever had? were nanami and gojo closer? idk, i just have always wondered lol. sorry for any inconveniences.

So I'm going with canon for most relationships bc they're just too hard to guess. JJK spoilers below!

Suguru:

So I tried to stick with canon for Suguru although I do play up the ambiguity in their canon relationship. For example we have that scene in JJK0 where Satoru says something to Suguru but we don't know what it is, but fans sort of assume it's some kind of explicit acknowledgment of their feelings for each other. In my verse idk I imagine he says something like 'you were always the best part of me' or something that's still vague and hints at romantic feelings but could still be intimate and just platonic.

I characterize their relationship as deeply intimate but not ever explicitly romantic. They definitely had romantic tension but it remained unspoken between them as teenagers, and then after the SPV arc Suguru went off the rails and kinda pulled away from Satoru and ultimately they never had the chance to start any kind of romantic relationship.

So they were never in love but they absolutely could have been/should have been, fate just got in the way.

Nanami:

Were they close??? It really doesn't seem like it outside of the OP/ED credits of S2. And in the recent manga chapters I feel like Satoru didn't mourn him much at all (or he could just be so shocked by all the deaths he hasn't managed to acknowledge them) In fact I kind of assumed canon Nanami lowkey hated Satoru, and only begrudgingly considered him a sorcerer worthy of respect after many years of knowing him?

Shouko:

BOY do I have some thoughts on this. In canon they give off the 'old acquaintances that have grown close by virtue of the fact they're the only two left but still aren't actually that close'. Like they obviously have a rapport/history in S1, but we don't see Shouko being particularly friendly to him in canon. She's friendlier than Utahime and Mei Mei for sure, but she doesn't seem like a confidant or a close friend. We don't get much of her in the SPV arc - could go either way that she was closer to him as kids or they were just classmates who spent a lot of time together and became close because they just lived in each other's pockets but otherwise wouldn't have been friends. The OP/ED for S2 would imply they were all good friends, but I don't consider that canon. That's just Mappa twisting the knife 😭

Tbh I hope they were never really close, bc otherwise I'd really dislike her. Suguru just snapped and became a serial killer and turned traitor, and Satoru was sent to assassinate him, and you as someone who was close to both of them just what... roll with it? There's that scene in ch 78 where she sees Suguru in Shinjuku and she's just like "oh hey Suguru, bff I've spent the past 3 years of my life hanging out with, what's up? Yeah I'll have a light. Oh so you really did mass-murder that whole village AND murder your parents? Cool. Yeah I don't feel like dying today so I'm gonna call Gojo to deal with you, peace out" and she just doesn't seem to give much of a fuck about Suguru or Satoru. In a way I think would be impossible if she genuinely cared about them. Or idk, maybe everyone in JJK was fucked up.

Megumi:

This is another canon relationship that makes me go ??? It's not specified whether Gojo actually takes Megumi in or just has legal guardianship of him and leaves him to his own devices. It seems more the latter, bc in all the Tsumiki flashbacks, Gojo is never there or even ever really mentioned.

And as of current manga he doesn't seem particularly torn up about Megumi's situation, and seems (although he could be bluffing) totally accepting of the fact he might have to kill Megumi to stop Sukuna. If you raised a kid with love and care for years - the way I see him doing with Eri - I cannot fathom how you'd compartmentalize like that.

idk these are just my personal headcanons for this fic. I've seen fanon versions of all these relationships that are really fleshed out and impressive and go either way sooo 🤷‍♀️
