Being held still by one of them, forced to sit between his thick thighs – getting so sick of being outnumbered – feeling so weak, stuck in his muscle-swelled arms keeping you tight against him, wrapped snugly around your torso with your back to his chest while his hands grope your front, locking your own to your sides.

Your face, dewy with a thin sheen of sweat, is held steadily in your other captor’s hand, keeping your misty hooded eyes looking up at him, where he leans over you while his other hand plays an eager one-sided game of war between your thighs.

His mouth ghosts yours with small kisses, and everything smells of his breath as he pours sweet unwanted nothings down your throat. "Oh, y'so sweet in my hand~ so soft on my fingers~"

It’s as though you can see the sickness in his eyes – leering at you like you're something he wants to devour.

“Don’t be shy~ show us how pretty you are when you cum~” He continued cooing.

“You know you want to~” The other accomplice added hot and damp right at your ear – just as amused as his partner. “Come on, baby~ show us~”

You whimper, and his thumb swirls over that place you're most sensitive. Cracking a splitting smile when you buck your hips in response.

“So close, buttercup~” He simpers before dragging his hot tongue from your chin to your temple. And you sob, thinking it’s just too cruel how your body decides to react to it.

The knot within you seizes up, coiled so tight and stretched so thin it snaps – leaving you to throw your head back against the chest behind you – moaning out while they watch you gush for them with a shared smile on both their faces.

Bakugou Katsuki.

Why not Mineta, or even Monoma????

I know Bakugou used to be a huge bully, but his character development has come so far!!!! He's changed!!

Is it because lots of people ship him and Deku, and you're a Tododeku shipper?

People are free to ship whatever they want but thinking that my answer has anything to do with what I ship is odd, to say the least.

I wasn’t asked "if you could erase a character you hate or that annoys you", I was asked "if you could erase a character, which one would it be?"

Do you know how the story change if I erase Monoma or Mineta? It pretty much doesn’t, because they are side characters. What's the point in that?

Now, if I want the story to change in an interesting way, I need to erase an important character. I wouldn’t do that to Izuku because he is my favorite, not to Shouto because the Todoroki drama is interesting, not to AFO nor All Might because they are compelling characters and the OFA storyline is something I like for the story.

Bakugou, however, was here from the beginning and as one the greatest influences on Izuku's life. A ton of things change if Bakugou is gone, which makes it interesting to me as a writer.

My BKDK Journey

Yes, this sounds stupid, but my god it’s been almost three years of an absolute rollercoaster of feelings and denials and tears and revelations…

and if you don’t mind, I’m gonna rant about it.

May 2021

To start off, i wasn’t always a bkdk shipper.

I shipped izu*cha at first (not saying it’s a bad ship btw; it’s actually quite cute. im just afraid people’ll be mad if I accidentally invade their tag lol), primarily because I assumed that would be the ship that became canon.

But also, my veryyyyy leasttttt favorite character… was Bakugou Katsuki.

When I tell you that I would’ve loved nothing more than to somehow spawn into the bnha universe and punch that brat in the face— AGHHHHHHHHHH

Now this wasn’t all his fault: A) I watched the dub first lol, and B) he reminded me of someone that i was not in a place to stand up to at the time, and his constant anger, yelling, and harsh treatment of Izuku—who i began to relate to—made me hateeee him.

There was a time when I literally said “if he died, I wouldn’t miss him.” <- this was later proven false lol

So, I was watching the anime dub with an absolute animosity for our resident deuteragonist, but on top of that…

I was watching it with a friend with a crunchyroll account who lived in another state that I was visiting and staying with for two weeks, so by the time i had to go back home, we’d only gotten up to the part where All Might was getting Inko’s permission to let Izuku stay at the UA dorms.

Anddddddd in my drive to consume more bnha once I got home, i somehow stumbled across an Instagram account that posted bnha sub episodes divided into parts,

but they only had season four and onwards.

Sooooo I never saw the second half of season three… more importantly,

I NEVER SAW DEKU VS KACCHAN 2!!!!!

(I will say that I had seen a couple photos/edits/etc, but I never knew what had been said, or why they fought)

June 2021

At this point in time, I’d been exposed to a lot of the fandom. My fyp on both IG and Pinterest were filled to the brim with all things bnha (because this is what happens when one has a hyperfixation), so I saw a lot of stuff.

Especially fanart.

This is where I started learning about the different ships.

I saw a lot of the side character ships and thought they were adorable (kamijirou, todomomo, even kiribaku), but then I saw some with Izuku.

Izu*cha was a given for me. I didn’t think there was a single person that didn’t ship it. But then I started seeing fanart of ships like tododeku, shindeku, and bakudeku.

And my first reaction to finding out that people shipped my beautiful baby sunshine boi with the person who bullied him for years?????

HELLLLLLLLLLL NO

So with my (unknowingly) limited knowledge of their relationship, i was very much an anti (i never spoke out or anything, i just reallyyyy didn’t like the ship lol)

(And then, you know, I started to see all the bkdk hate online and kinda went “okay not touching that”)

But that began to change…

August 2021

…after I saw a manga leak for the first time.

I was scrolling thru my feed and all of a sudden. BOOM!

I was like 😧

IS THAT IZUKU?????

And i looked in the comments and yes it was.

I checked out the page and found that they had an entire account of manga leaks and was so happy.

I quickly began to read from the very bottom of that account, and it started from right about where Izuku first began his vigilante arc (i had no idea how much was in between then and where I left off on the anime, but I was willing to read it lol)

And so I waited diligently for the leaks every week (a practice I have continued to uphold lol), until one day, i came across an untranslated series of panels from the latest chapter. I looked at it and it was of Katsuki and Izuku, facing each other in the rain (you know the one). I knew the leaks would be coming a day later, but I wanted to look through them anyways, so I did.

I didn’t understand a word they said, but the pictures and imagery of them as kids then middle schoolers then where they were now seemed so touching…

And then I came across a pair of kanji that I recognized.

I was like “wait WHAT???”

I zoomed in and went “that— isn’t that—? That’s part of Midoriya’s name, right???”

And then I was like “wait a second… omg that’s Izuku, isn’t it. That’s the freaking kanji for Izuku.”

And it was!!!!!

So inside I’m having a mini freakout cuz—

Bakugou just called him IZUKU

Fast forward to the next day, and I looked at the translated version, and found out that not only did he call him Izuku,

Freaking

APOLOGIZED

And I was like “huhhhhhhh”

What happened between now and the most recent anime episodes for this to occur???? For Bakugou to do a complete 180 and apologize????????

Well, I finally got my answers…

November 2021

…when I started reading the manga.

I started from the beginning, cuz I wanted to see Horikoshi’s art style and the extra drawings and all the other stuff…

And when I tell you that Katsuki became a whole new character to me—

First, I read everything about early-on Bakugou— without hearing him yell in his dub voice—and realized “oh wow he really is just a kid with issues and a worldview that he’s now having to change.”

Then, I finally read what happened in that space between moving into the dorms and the beginning of season four (most importantly, DvK2).

Cried.

Then, oh then, I got up to where season five ended and the rest of the manga began.

. . .

Funny thing: back when I read the leaks to ch322, I remember thinking to myself, “huh. what did Bakugou mean by Shigaraki making swiss cheese outta him?”

😦

THE WAY I GASPED

AND THEN CRIED

OH MY FREAKING GOD

That was the moment where i truly ceased to hate Katsuki cuz holy character development batman

Then, of course, we see them in recovery

And then the vigilante arc and apology scene *sobs*

And then I was caught up.

(Btw I finished the entire manga up ‘til ch334 in just over a week. I read for nine days straight. During the school year. My emotions were all over the place goodness gracious I could barely concentrate.)

So that’s how I went from being a Bakugou hater to going “you know what he’s a complex character and he’s slowly becoming a better person” and realizing that he was now one of my fav characters and therefore cursed to die but I’ll talk about that later

Was I now a bakudeku shipper?

Hah nope.

December 2021

I began my dive into the true essence of any fandom: fanfiction.

Over the course of winter break, I had started off with fics that had no romantic pairing (I just wanted to see my boi Izuku), but then somehow stumbled across Mastermind: Strategist for Hire and then read the entirety of the For Want of a Nail series (shoutout to Clouds btw ❤️) cuz I was like “ok whew no bkdk fics” which was my mindset at the time.

But somehow (I can’t even remember how I found it) I came across a bkdk fic. It was called For Want of Izuku’s Toe Joint by Talavin (okay now that I think about it there’s probably a simple explanation lol).

I don’t quite know what compelled me to start reading it, but I did.

And I really liked it.

But not in the “I’ve been converted” kinda way.

It was like an “I shouldn’t be enjoying this why am I enjoying this?” kinda feeling. Like my head says no but my heart says yeah.

A really really really really guilty pleasure.

So, from that day on, whenever I came across any form of bkdk media, I would simultaneously feel discomfort and yet an odd sense of satisfaction.

A snippet of my daily life:

Me: *comes across bkdk fanart on pinterest*

Me: eww

Also me: *stares at it for like five minutes straight*

Me: who even likes this?

Also me: *saves pin to my mha board*

Me: not my ship

Also me: *scrolls down to more like this*

Bless my heart I was in such denial.

Bit of a timeskip, but nothing of note really happened in those last six months so here we go.

We’ve gotten to the point in the manga where the final arc is underway and Bakugou is about to KICK SOME BUTT

He’s revealed his Panser Strafe support item and I’m gushing about it to my friend (she kinda fell out of the fandom but still tolerated my rants bless her)

Oh, side note: it was then that I also expressed my concern for Bakugou’s “alive” status

Utterly gobsmacked. Cried. Disbelief. Horrified. Confusion. Anger. Went through the five stages of grief and then some.

Sometimes I hate being right 🥲

But the good thing that came from this was that my positive view of Katsuki only grew after seeing his utter faith in Izuku (and his thoughts being on him in his final moments???? 🥺🥺🥺)

And it was at this point in time where I could admit to myself “you know what? i see it. i see the appeal. i wouldn’t mind this actually becoming canon.”

Did I think that it would actually become canon?? No.

I don’t know how I thought Izuku was gonna react to seeing Katsuki’s body on the ground, but GOOD LORD IT WASNT THAT

Even sweet little blind me realized “oh wow he like really feels intense stuff for Katsuki huh”

(But some things I missed—cuz I was still a bit wired for izu*cha—were shigarakis implications “yeah u looooove the present I got u” and the freaking HEART that blackwhip caused??? when Izuku reeled himself back in???? like how did i miss that i read that chapter like fifteen times??)

So this is all to say that I’ve missed any and all actual bkdk hints up until this point. I finally lifted my head out of the izu*cha fog when…

…Ochako and Toga had their chat about romance.

The first actual hint was when Ochako had told Toga “I’ll give you my blood for the rest of my life.”

Little blind me became a bit less blind that day, cuz I was like “um. ochako? that— that sounded kinda like a proposal. like. a marriage proposal. ochako??”

And then those chapters just kept getting better!!

…got Tumblr!!!

Everything was downhill from here folks.

In the best possible way.

I came across some analyses of what was going on with togachako, and consequently led me to some bakudeku analyses. I read them and my goodness they made so much sense.

Like not even just personality-wise!! Those metas brought in actual things Horikoshi said about wanting to go outside the norms of shounen (and about not liking the Naruto ending 💀), and compared bkdk to tropes in different works of fiction, and even discussed how bkdk made sense narratively. They properly convinced me of the ship.

And then for good measure, I reread the manga in its entirety thru a bkdk filter, and lo and behold things took on new meanings and my eyes were opened.

I totally and irrevocably shipped them! And I actually thought they had a chance at being canon!!

(And then I binged so much bkdk fanfiction omg you wouldn’t BELIEVE like I read the ones with the highest kudos first and then just picked the biggest collections I could find and read down the line

It was like being on drugs like each fic gave me more dopamine than the last I was so happy oh my god)

And then finally, the day came.

The answer to “is bakugou alive yet?” became a yes.

We screamed. We cried. We jumped for joy. We told bakugou antis to suck it. But most of all, our bkdk hearts soared to see our boys make eye contact with each other for the first time in over a year 🥹

And from that moment on, I truly began to believe that bkdk would indeed become canon.

I have talked about this before but the "fujoshis hating on female character in the way of their ship" is really overblown and a lot of times not even true.

For example, I never see anything but adoration from itafushi shippers towards Nobara, and they were upset what happened at Shibuya. And I honestly have never seen tododeku or bakudeku shippers hating on Uraraka. Same way I also never see kiribaku shippers hating on Mina. I don't really agree with bkdk shippers saying Uraraka and Deku have no development, but disagreeing on ship dynamics is not the same as hating Uraraka. That's the thing, a lot of people mistake hating on hetero ship to hating on female character/misogyny. Probably because they think the only value a female character can have is in a het ship lol.

When it comes to Sakura, the reason why some ns shippers dislike her is because she is written to be an unlikeable character who never changes or grows. She treats Naruto, one of the parties in the ns ship badly (and Kishimoto even mentioned her actions in Kage arc were detestable) and she treats Sasuke, the other party in ns like an object (again, Kishimoto mentions that her feelings are self-centered and also used a word meaning toxic addiction to describe them). No matter how many times Sasuke rejects her, she won't listen. She disrespects Sasuke's family, which matters to Sasuke more than anything, more than once, as well as his feelings and wants. It's not shocking people who like Naruto and Sasuke would dislike her and find her ignorance irritating. And yet, there are many ns who like her (for some reason) and create fanon content where she is a totally different character in order to show their support for her. Also, both SS/NH frequently send threats a well as homophobic comments (I myself have literally gotten someone calling me fag and telling me to die lol) and they are far more vicious than ns could ever hope to be.

As for Mikasa, well, I see more dislike towards EM than towards her from EA shippers. But I have also seen them say Mikasa's obsession is annoying, that she's boring, that it's annoying how her one-sided feelings are rewarded. I don't think this is massive hate, and definitely not worse than how I have seeing EM shippers reply to EA with pictures of gay flags burning or homophobic comments. This is not even mentioning the sexually degrading comments I have seen them targeted towards Historia. The most misogynist comments towards Mikasa come from men. It is also a fact that Eren and Mikasa don't have heart to hearts during the manga and it's okay to dislike the ship due to this lack of development.

Some satosugus have shown dislike towards Utahime apparently (or so I have been told) but I have also witnessed gojo/hime shippers sending homophobic vitriol towards satosugu content so again, their side isn't clean either. And plenty of gojo/hime frequently voice their dislike towards Geto so I don't see why satosugus can't dislike Utahime.

Regardless, I think this phenomenom just comes from het shippers being upset their ships are called bland and criticised, and wanting to brand people who ship gay ships as automatically evil, while pretending like their side isn't capable of being vile.

So tell me what exactly about this picture confirms bkdk as canon, espicially since shoto is also there? Dont tell me, its because izuku and bakugou are standig side by side or because you are one of these idiots who believes izuku pulling bakugou by his tie to make him look into "the camera" like he and shoto do means he has romantic feelings for him?!🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

If that isnt the cover you are talking about, dont shy away from sending the right one to me, I want something to laugh at. And next time have at least enough balls to not go anon you pathetic coward! 💋

So and even if izuku pulls bakugou by his tie (by literally trying to make him look into the camera izuku EVEN IS POINTING TO), do you want to know some great news in return? That both bakugou and izuku debunked any kind of romantic bkdk a long time before this cover even came out, in one of the light novels which are canon.

In said light novel todoroki asks bakugou why he and izuku dont get along despite knowing each other for so long and bakugou replies with: "just because you know someone for a long time, doesnt mean you get along" and right afterwards he compares his relationship with izuku with the one between shoto and HIS ABUSIVE FATHER!!!! Duuuuhhhhhh!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And izuku replies with that he cant even call bakugou a "childhood friend" since bakugou always treated him like shit!!! Do you SERIOUSLY believe that horikoshi will let his main character end up with the guy who abused him for 12 YEARS in a manga directed at 9-13 year old boys?! In a country that sees homosexuality still as something shameful and dirty and whos government keeps a strict eye on everything related to it?! At this point thats just wishful thinking and even the bkdk shippers in japan (who are for the most part adult woman this manga isnt even directed to) know it has no chance for ending up canon 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And here is an other nice fact: two years or so ago there was a bkdk fanart contest with a lot of fanarts who showed bakugou and izuku in a romantic light and do you want to know how horikoshi reacted to that? While he praised the talents of the artists he made clear that THIS is NOT what bakugous and izukus relationship is like (romantic)! Man, it must really suck if even the author debunks your disgusting toxic ass ship and makes clear how problematic their whole relationship is!

And how mature of you, calling a person you dont even know a "bitch" just because that person doesnt like your ship which has ZERO chance of ending up canon anyway! Get a life, touch some grass and maybe stop fantasize about two teenagers fucking each other!

And about the izuku centric fics topics, why I can’t find good izuku centric fics without the disgusting ship tag (bakudeku) going on pages on pages (and I filter but some still sneak in)

Like I understand that people love the enemies to lovers troupe but bakudeku isn’t enemies to lovers; they don’t have the same charm as enemies to lovers usually have nor they are healthy. Why this fandom so obsessed with this toxic ship is beyond me.

(I personally prefer shoto/izuku; I love the moon and sun troupes in the ship. And also they do have the enemies to lovers charm to them in my opinion)

You're welcome! Trust me, I have a ton of fics that came out terribly when I first started. No one starts out with a perfect first story :)

It's interesting you mention enemies to lovers because you're right, BakuDeku is not enemies to lovers. Fans of that trope have been instant for years that enemies to lovers is not supposed to translate to bully x victim. Those are two different things.

My understanding of the trope is that the two characters should be on equal footing and the power differentials shouldn't be so skewed. So it wouldn't work since BakuDeku's animosity is so one-sided that it's just abuse. The closest thing MHA offers in that regard is probably ShinDeku (I don't ship them, just using them as an example). TodoDeku would probably be way closer to rivals to lovers since Todoroki's animosity towards him was as a rival, not as a person

I feel really bad for Shoto and for how the narrative treats him.

He started off so strong in the Sports Festival only for it to steadily go downhill.

I can see him putting aside his hatred for his father so he can learn how to control his fire side, alright fair, it's not like there're any other heroes with fire control and it seems like most of them work for Endeavor.

But to have him wanting to be friends with Bakugou even though he's a mini version of his dad, any other writer would have Shoto hate his guts and steer clear of him no matter what.

And then that whole dinner scene in general and Izuku saying the whole forgiving him because you're kind... (Like I know that wasn't what Izuku meant to say but it could REALLY come across to Shoto that if he doesn't forgive his father, than he isn't kind) I just wish it could've been worded better.

And then from the War arc and forward he's just been made into a plot device in his OWN FUCKING ARC just to forward Endeavor's redemption.

Shoto was one of the more developed characters of 1-A, but he just been slowly fading away as time went on to where he only has the family drama and is only a plot device.

And that's not even going into the bullshit twist of Dabi having an ice quirk and therefore ruining Shoto's purpose in the story in the process!

Agreed I feel horrible for poor Shoto but also for Dabi in light of how this plot has turned out.

I'll start with Shoto since I feel like you have completely hit the nail on the head with how things went wrong with how his character and plot were handled.

I'll be honest, I still blame Hori for Shoto not completely diverging from his father's influence post sports festival. Fire quirks seem to be common (I.e Midoriya Hisashi and his fire breath) so why couldn't Hori have made another high ranking hero wield fire - I.e Made Burnin a fellow hero instead of an Endeav sidekick and had him learn off her? It's all to lock Shoto with his abuser under the guise of the "logic" of the setting and I hate it.

Ah the TodoBaku friendship. How I hate it. I agree with your points entirely. Logically, Shoto should loathe Bakugou for all the similarities he shows to Endeavour, for how openly Bakugou hates and mistreats Izuku and if not for any of that - for how he yelled at Fuyumi and frightened her. That should have had Bakugou evicted from the Todofam house, I mean just look at how she is drawn here.

Fuyumi looks so so upset and frightened, like she's flashing back to all the other times she faced Endeavour being aggressive and angry like that. It's upsetting to see. Yet Hori doesn't allow Shoto to be justifiably angry about this, to kick Bakugou out or even just to say "Don't talk to my sister like that." Hori has him gloss right over it in a very OOC manner. This 'friendship' Hori forces does nothing for Shoto and is only there to repair Bakugou's image.

As for the next point, Izuku's speech to Todoroki. Honestly I was upset that this seemingly sweet domestic scene where we could have learnt more about Fuyumi, Natsuo and Shoto's characters was instead forcibly being made to be, yet again, all about Endeavour. You gave a very charitable interpretation of Izuku's meaning there, one I saw a lot of Tododeku shippers believe or solely focus on the fact that "Awww Izuku said Shoto was kind!! How sweet!!😍" whereas I hated this moment for Izuku. If that was the meaning Hori intended he should have worded it better because looking at this:

I read the meaning as "because you are caring you're waiting to forgive him," the subtext that Natsuo (and I) took from what the narrative was saying that he was not caring because he can't forgive Endeavour. This is unacceptable. That could be coming from what was taught to Izuku as a child regarding Bakugou (it would have been interesting to have Izu go through an arc where he realises he was wrong about this - but I digress.) Due to the fact that the narrative treats this as the right and correct opinion so it comes across - icky at best.

In the war arc, Shoto was made into a device for Endeavor's "redemption", he lost his uniqueness in being the masterpiece because now Dabi is too and way more powerful than Shoto - seemingly! (Shoto's line "I may not have been able to stop the (Dabi's) attack by myself" while Dabi created all that immense firepower himself, while generating his own ice to save himself and Endeav, suggests this.) I hate it.

As for Dabi, I feel bad for him too. His bond with Natsuo was cast to the side in favour of his one with Endeavour. I feel like Dabi could have benefited from a flashback of Fuyumi and Natsuo playing with him while he's burning alive fighting Endeavor - and one of Natsuo and him bonding separately. Then having Dabi be like "Natsuuu! Natsuu come play with me."

Focusing on Dabi's POV while he is burning alive fighting Endeavour instead what we got would have worked better too. It would have highlighted the positive memories he had with his other family members and his mental state before having him double down on his Endeav hatred. It would have been more impactful.

I would have liked instead of Dabi being K.O'd by his families ice, them (and Shoto) helping cool him down. Then after Shoto employs some 'talk no jutsu' Dabi's fire changing back from blue to red as he finally calms down, maybe after killing Endeav, which Shoto would feel mixed about. No Ice B.S to 'justify' Endeav or his quirk marriage. The message should have been that Dabi never needed to be "perfect" to be worth anything as a human - giving him ice ruins that message entirely.
