#one of the major problems Danny faces is that he has good friends and good ghost mentors but he doesn’t have any real world adults

DCxDP: Dead guys stick together
(A Batman 138 fix-it)
After Bizarro becomes King of Hell he watches the mortal world and is distraught to find that his brother/best friend/sorta father-figure has been hurt very badly and is calling out for help.
Distraught, he goes to another lord of the netherworld who he's heard has access to a portal (and subjects a bit more compatible with the act of helping someone). He asks King Phantom would he please please help him protect his brother/friend, and if he does Bizarro will owe him a favor and leave his realm alone.
When the inferno had initially breached the Ghost Zone Danny had thought he was going to have to deal with f*cking Trigon again, but as it turns out that guy's been replaced and the new guy is pretty nice. After a brief cosmic battle and a clearing of misunderstandings, Danny agrees to Bizarro’s request.
While Gotham's vigilante civil war continues on its rooftops, Jason is in a cell. He is trembling, practically catatonic again, and losing his mind. He’s seeing the flaming figure of a knight on horseback appear from the shadowy far wall of his room, like some kind of fairytale nightmare version of Batman. It takes a while for Jason to realize he’s talking.
“... part of the treaty between the King of Ghosts and King of Demons, Jason Todd: Prince of Demons has been granted special status and is henceforth a protected and honorary citizen of the Infinite Realms.”
Nightmare-Bruce touches his flaming sword on Jason’s shoulder and the unearthly fire instantly engulfs him. Relief washes through Jason, and it’s so strong he nearly drops asleep.
Bruce is apologetic when everything’s over and he realizes the mistakes he’s made... but nothing really changes. (It is a relief to Bruce that no one died or was permanently injured, Jason's condition resolved itself somehow, and Bruce is normal now so really everything is fixed or at least it will be fixed.)
Just like when Jason first came back from the dead, Bruce's response makes him hurt deeper than the physical torture itself. Jason is the one who died but Bruce acts like the ghost. Singleminded, possessive, stuck in time and blind to it; bound to repeat the same cycles again and again. Jason is the ghost but he's died multiple times now, and maybe that's kind of like living and maybe that means he can move on.
Dani and Bizarro become friends, and she gets Danny's friend Tucker to somehow set up a working Wi-Fi connection in hell so they can all play games together. (He’s not going to question it. Everything about Amity Park is abnormal. They helped him and they’re good to Bizarro, that’s all that matters.)
Jason forges a fake identity for Dani. He might ask Babs to make a better one for her if she ever needs it but he doubts that's likely. He hasn’t had a living identity for years now after all, he’s an old hand at fake identities. Dani is delighted and starts attending school soon after.
Danny has good friends, and as far as Jason can tell plenty of reliable mentors in the ghost world. You wouldn’t think it, but Jason’s less worried about Danny in his role as a little godling than in his civilian life. He’s got too much on his plate- too much power yet not enough to actually resolve his real issues. Not enough to protect himself where he’s vulnerable.
The “Guys in White” that Danny likes to complain about are concerning. So is the fact that Danny’s lives with mad-scientist parents who are trying to hunt down his alternate identity. So is his ever grinding cold-war with the mayor of his town… And something else too that had been niggling at the back of Jason’s mind ever since he’d first gotten to talk to these kids.
One day Danny’s sister, Jazz asks to talk to him. He’s an adult she says. That’s true he replies. He’s capable of protecting himself and other people, she says. Well, he has the training and experience for it, he agrees. If things go wrong, would Jason let Danny or Dani stay with him- just until she becomes a legal adult? She asks. Jason’s... not the sort of person who should be taking kids in. Danny saved his life though. He won’t say no. He says of course.
Jason knew it. Everything about Amity Park is abnormal.
The town doesn’t technically exist- there are no maps that include it and even satellite imaging is corrupted where Danny describes his hometown is supposed to be. There are no references to it on the internet that couldn’t be referring to a totally different Amity Park elsewhere, and judging by the problems they occasionally had on gaming nights and the odd offhand remarks Danny and his friends sometimes made, it was looking extremely likely that all communications between Amity Park and the outside were being heavily censored. Before Jason knew it he had started a full-on investigation on the GIW, Mayor Vlad Masters, former Mayor Montez, and Axion Labs.
Hope and fear lodges itself in Danny’s chest. Jason’s an adult and he’s actually going to help.

“Red Robin, sound off. Status?”
“All good here, Oracle. Everything okay?”
It’s been a slow night, never a good sign. Pent up energy itches under his skin and he stretches when he stands, preparing for whatever Oracle is going to throw his way. It’s going to be something, he can tell.
“Good.” Relief briefly colours her voice answers, before she becomes serious again, keys clacking away in the background. “There’s been a report from Agent A. It appears that one Timothy Drake has been kidnapped and is being ransomed for five million dollars and a helicopter. I’m tracing the call now.”
“A helicopter, too? Kidnappers these days, used to be they just wanted their money and that would be the end of it… a fucking helicopter, wow.” Red Hood scoffs, and Red Robin can’t help but join in the laughter over the comms.
“Doesn’t exactly sound like these are the brightest tools in the shed now, does it, Hood? Wonder what poor schmuck they’ve got instead.” Nightwing says, slightly out of breath.
The smile slips off Red Robin’s face and clammy, cold dread shivers down his spine. A stone settles in his stomach. He wets his lips and clears his throat. “Oracle, can you pull up the CCTV on my apartment near WE? Any closer to tracing the call?”
“Still on the trace, they’re using a jammer. Agent A is cooperating so they should phone back soon, which will help.” she reports, falling into silence as he finds the video feed.
“You know who it is?”
“I hope not.”
It’s tense, he taps his feet on the rooftop, fingers tightening over his grapple as he fights the urge to fly off the roof and check for himself. It better not be him. Please, dear God, don’t let it not be him.
“What are you thinking, Red Robin?” Batman growls through the comms. Red Robin can hear the wind under his words, whipping fast as he no doubt makes his way over to his position.
“I had a, uh, a friend coming over tonight. From behind, he… he could be mistaken for Tim Drake.”
The jokes fall silent, the comms growing serious as they pick up on his tone.
“Well, fuck.”
“Eloquent as always, Hood.”
“Shut up, bat-brat.”
“You were right, Red Robin, it looks like it was your… friend they caught, instead. About two hours before the call came in. I’m following their van now, I should have the destination soon. In the meantime, it looks like they’re heading towards the docks.”
Red Robin throws himself off the building, shooting his grapple as low as he dares to get the fastest swing he can.
They have Danny.
Worry gnaws at his gut even as gravity pulls it into his throat with another swing.
Danny is… And Red Robin means this in the nicest way possible, but Danny is fragile. They haven’t talked about it, but RR knows that Danny has health problems. Something plaguing him since he was young, that’s landed him in the hospital more than once. A weak heart, far too slow to be normal, possibly chronic fatigue—he’s always so tired, falling asleep anywhere he can.
Sometimes, he doesn’t even need to put his head down. Once, when they had gone to the corner store to get some popcorn to enjoy their movie (which Danny had explicitly and repeatedly promised he wouldn’t snore through this time), Danny had rested his head on Tim’s shoulder while they were waiting and he’d just… gone. On his feet, asleep, just like that.
He’d laughed, when Tim woke him up. Apologised. Said Tim made him feel safe enough to fall asleep just about anywhere and—
Red Robin grits his teeth and corrects his course as Oracle updates them with more precise coordinates.
Tim had carried him home that night, piggy-back for four blocks, but by the end of it, he wasn’t tired at all. And that’s another thing, Danny’s just so light. It’s concerning.
They never did watch that movie, but it’s a night that Tim can’t help remembering fondly all the same. They’d ended up rewatching some old sitcom that Danny’s seen countless times but Tim’s never really bothered with, Danny drifting off to sleep again and Tim eventually following him, because… sleep is easy with Danny.
It’s the same for him, he thinks. He can’t explain it, but he feels safe enough to sleep with Danny, too.
He needs to be alright.
“So… Is this friend just a friend? Or a friend friend?”
“A friend, Nightwing. Now hurry up.”
He’s not in the mood to play these games, not now. There’s a reason why none of them know about Danny, and this is one of them. His family, as much as he loves them, are just too damn nosey for their own good.
“You know that doesn’t answer my question at all.”
“Then why don’t you ask something intelligible, rather than continue with your childish antics?” Robin snarks, and for once, Red Robin has to agree with him. Or, rather, he’s grateful for the distraction that it gives him.
Tim has secrets. He’s sure that Danny does, too, and so far—aside from the standard background check he always runs on new friends and friend friends alike—he’s done very well to respect them. He just can’t say that his family would do the same.
They can be overwhelming, to say the least, and Tim has tried his best to protect Danny from that.
Only to fail to protect him in every other way that it counts.
“How long have you guys been ‘friends’?”
“Nightwing, save it, please.”
“What’s his name?”
He ignores him.
Red Robin lands on the building first, thank goodness. He wastes no time in finding a skylight that can be pried open fairly quietly, slipping inside without a second thought.
“Wait for backup, Red Robin, that is an order!” Batman says, when he lets them know he’s in.
“Negative, Batman. I’m getting him back.”
“Red Robin!”
He weaves silently through the desks on the second floor of the warehouse, always moving, always keeping a trained eye on the shadows around him.
When he reaches the stairs, he hears voices.
“Looks like three of them, armed. The-the hostage is tied to a chair in the middle of the room, he…” Red Robin takes a steadying breath. The person has a burlap sack over their head is slumped to the side, from where he is, Red Robin can’t see if his chest is moving. There’s blood on the floor. “He needs medical assistance. Another two on the northside entrance.”
The comms explode in admonitions, everyone pleading with him to stay where he is, to wait for help, but fuck that. With a tap, he switches them off and he can finally, just about make out the words of the kidnappers as he creeps down the first few steps.
“—shouldn’t he have woken up by now?”
“I don’t know, man, you’re the one that hit him! Do you think he’s—”
“No! I didn’t even hit him that hard, I swear!” the man cries, holding his hands up in surrender. “I just couldn’t take any more of his stupid jokes!”
If there was any doubt in Red Robin’s mind that they picked up Danny by mistake, it’s gone now. Yeah. If you get Danny, you get his stupid jokes, too.
He creeps closer.
There’s some storage crates between him and Danny, if he can get behind there without being seen then that leaves him in a good position for when whoever’s next in takes out the guys at the front. He can’t do anything without them gone first, not without risking them taking shots inside and endangering Danny.
The man that hit Danny circles round behind him and grabs at his hands.
“What are you even doing, Pat? Who gives a shit, leave him alone.”
“I’m just checking! I just gotta see!”
“Fuck’s sake, guys, who cares? We just gotta get our money, that’s it—”
“And our helicopter!”
“And our—”
“Shit, I can’t find a pulse! Shit, Frank, I killed him, I—”
Jason told him once that when the Pits overtook him, he used to see green. Instead of blacking out, he’d be swimming in that putrid Lazarus colour and he’d slip into that rage and bad things would happen.
He’s heard of people seeing red, too, but really, he thinks that’s more of a literary device.
Tim doesn’t see anything aside from his targets.
A barrage of birdarangs take the guns from the guys at the front, the three around Danny startling badly enough that the guy that kil—that’s behind Danny—stumbles, losing his footing.
Only one of them shoots.
Amateurs.
There’s a round of curses on the comms as the shots come through. Oracle must have turned them back on.
“Fucking hell—Nightwing and I are at the front, Red Robin, don’t worry about them.”
Red Robin’s barely listening.
He spins, kicking the largest guy in the stomach hard enough so that he doubles over, wheezing. Following through the movement, another kick lands on the side of his head and he’s down.
The second one, Frank, gets his wits about him and raises his gun, spraying wildly. He’s a shit shot, going wide in panic, and Red Robin simply ducks and rushes forward, keeping low. Tackling the guy, he grabs the gun off of him and uses it to smash him across the face, once, twice, three times, before he stops moving.
“Oracle, get police and paramedics on scene, now.” Batman says, the displeasure in his voice evident. “Red Robin, Robin and I are coming in from the top.”
Pat hasn’t even made it up off the floor yet, scrambling backwards, fear plain on his face.
Red Robin stands, breathing heavily, gun still in hand.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I swear I didn’t mean to do it! Please—please, don’t, please!”
Red Robin doesn’t kill.
Well, no, Red Robin doesn’t normally kill.
No, that’s not quite right, either.
Red Robin has killed. Red Robin will more than likely kill again. Red Robin sees no problem with killing.
The gun is up, pointing towards the guy without any real thought about it.
Footsteps rush behind him, the familiar heavy footfalls of Batman and Robin, so he doesn’t bother turning around. The gun follows the guy as he keeps pulling himself backwards, snot and tears mingling down his face.
“Red Robin,” Batman says, softly.
It’s always weird hearing Batman’s voice like that. It’s not the first time, obviously—Batman can’t use his scary intimidating voice on victims or children, after all—but having it used on him is weird.
“Breathe.”
“He’s dead. They killed him.”
If hearing Batman’s voice was weird, Red Robin can’t even recognise his own.
Distantly, he realises he’s dissociating. There’s a tightness in his chest, it’s hard to breathe, a growing buzz drowns out any noise in his ears and he can’t think, he can’t—
A heavy hand squeezes his shoulder, jolting him out of his thoughts. Batman reaches around and gently removes the gun from his grip, and Tim feels the instant loss of it. He should have done it, why hadnt he done it?
Robin takes care of the last man, his crying cut off by a swift kick to the head. Nightwing and Red Hood join them, zip-tying the men on the floor and starting to drag them back to the entrance of the warehouse one by one.
No one says a word.
Shrugging off Batman’s hand, Tim moves towards the chair.
Shaking, he takes a deep breath and removes the sack. The small part of him that was left hoping it wasn’t him, it couldn’t be him, please dear God let it not be him, shatters.
Even dead, he looks peaceful.
Tim’s seen death. He’s no stranger to it, he’s seen what it can do to a person. There’s some blood coagulating over his eyebrows, but otherwise, he looks peaceful. Is that comforting? That he didn’t suffer?
Danny’s head lolls to the side as the sack comes completely away, his hair flopping over his eyes. Tim’s been on at him to get a haircut lately, he thinks it’ll be nice tidied up a bit, just on the sides. It’ll get rid of that permanent bedhead. Help him with job interviews, he’s got to be thinking about that now that he’s in his last year of college.
It’s about the only thing that’ll hold him back, Tim thinks. Danny’s brilliant. Any employer would be a fool to turn him down because of his shaggy hair, but employers are stupid so it makes sense to put your best foot forward and—
Tim falls to his knees.
Fuck.
He’s dead, he’s really—Danny’s skin is horribly pale, cold to the touch. Gone is his bright, cheerful smile.
“Danny, I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry, I—”
He stops himself with a deep, shuddering breath. He can’t break down here, he can’t, he can’t, he can’t.
Instead, he tips forward to rest his head in Danny’s lap, arms curling around himself. They were too late. They got here as fast as they could and they were too late.
“Danny, I’m so sorry…” he whispers. “I… I love you, I love you, I’m sorry.”
Dimly, he can feel the others standing around them. Someone crouches down beside him, resting a comforting arm over his back, but he doesn’t turn his head to see who it is. He squeezes his grip on Danny’s legs tighter.
“Come on, baby bird. Let’s—”
They’re interrupted by a huge, honking snore as Danny jerks himself awake.
Tim’s head snaps up, staring at Danny with wide eyes.
“You were asleep?” Red Robin springs up, several different emotions rapidly flip flopping through him.
“Wha… What?” Danny heaves a yawn, blinking blearily down at him. “Sorry, I’m just… they were shit kidnappers, man, really boring. Honestly, worst abduction yet.”
“You were asleep? I thought you were dead!”
“Not mutually exlusive, you know.” Danny says through another yawn. He rolls his neck around with an almighty crack and glances at everyone. “Didn’t think I’d warrant the whole Bat brigade, though…”
“The kidnappers thought they had Tim Drake.” Batman supplies, while Red Robin tries to work through the emotional whiplash.
“Ah, makes sense… wait.” Danny sits up suddenly, squinting at Red Robin. “Did you say you loved me?”
“No, of course not, why would I—”
“Tim? Is that—are you—are you Red Robin?”
“Everyone, hold the fuck up!” Red Hood shouts from the other side of the warehouse, having finished securing the perps to a streetlight outside. “Double R is dating Danny fucking Nightingale?”
Well, there goes his identity… Oh, who’s he kidding, Danny’s smart. There’s no way he could have salvaged that. This was not how he thought the night was going to go.
“Cranberry, is that you?” Danny twists in his chair, somehow delighted to see Red Hood rescuing him, too. “I thought I smelled you lurking about!”
“Shut it, you little shit. Since when were you dating this dweeb?”
“I’m sorry,” Red Robin pleads, hands in the air to try and slow down the onslaught of information and insults, “you two know each other?”
“Cranberry?” Nightwing echoes, looking as lost as Red Robin feels.
“Yeah, Cranberry—The Cranberries—zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie. Obviously. Also he’s wearing a big, fuck off red helmet.”
“Yeah, sure, makes sense.”
It’s about the only thing that does.
“And please don’t call my boyfriend a dweeb, Cranberry. Especially when he just said he loves me for the first time.”
“He only said it because he thought you were dead.”
“I am dead, so it counts.”
“Only half, so I’d say that puts you at a solid ‘like’. Tim’s—and savour this, Tim, because I’m only going to say it once—Tim’s intelligent, so I’m sure he’ll come to his senses soon.”
Danny just throws Red Hood such a shit-eating grin. A level of feral that Tim’s only seen before in Damian.
“That’s what I used to say about Jazz, too.”
Hood scoffs in offence, and to be honest, Tim’s not sure where he should go from here. What the hell is happening, how do they know each other?
“Come on, is anyone going to untie me or am I really meeting your family mafia-style?”
“Do it yourself, Slimer.” Red Hood laughs, crossing his arms.
“Ugh, you suck so much. I’ll fucking slime you, just you wait. Can’t believe Jazz even likes you, I preferred it when she was dating Johnny.”
And then, without Danny doing anything other than muttering obscenities at Red Hood, the ropes fall to the ground. In one swift motion, Danny stands up and stretches himself to his full height of 5’6.
“All of you need to explain, now.” commands Batman, and honestly, Red Robin’s very much on his side of it.
“I can’t believe it… Jason and Timmy are both in secret relationships? That’s… How come no one told me?” Poor Nightwing sounds the most shocked out of all of them. He turns to Damian and clasps onto both of his shoulders. “You’re not secretly dating, are you, D? Please tell me you’re not, please tell me you’re single, please?”
Of course, Robin just clicks his tongue and pushes his hands away. Really, Red Robin doesn’t think that Nightwing’s in any danger of that happening, he’d be surprised if anyone could stand Robin enough to actually date him.
He shakes his head and turns to Danny, who’s staring right back at him, worry clear on his face.
Fuck, he... He's alive. He's really alive.
Tim pulls him into a bone-crushing hug, fingers buried deep in his NASA shirt. Tucking his face into the crook of Danny's shoulder, he laughs wetly with the joy of it. He's alive. He hasn't lost him. He's safe.
“I’m sorry I haven’t told you before now, starshine, but…” Danny breaks the hug and softly pulls away from him to rise on his tiptoes to place a kiss his cheek. The skin burns cold where his lips touch. “I love you, too. Also, you’re gonna wanna sit down. This is going to be a lot.”

@skulld3mort-1fan replied to your post “PERSONAL ASSISTANT DANNY AU!!! Amity Park has a...”:
Question is this before brice adopted dick or after ?? Is this when he has either jason or tim?? Cause this could be hilarious that they see Danny as Bruce keeper by how he manages to get him to his next schedule despite the amount of bullshit he's gone through and they all love the man cause he manages to be able to scold bruce as well as has Alfred's respect ( this can also slowly build to bruce x Danny thered very few of them and I really want to find some other )
I think there's potential for the AU during any section of Bruce's life! It'd be funny to see 40-something year old Bruce with a massive gaggle of kids and is also secretly a hardened vigilante, city cryptid, and recognized founder of the Justice League to be manhandled by some 25-year-old recent graduate that looks like he weighs a hundred pounds soaking wet.
However, I think for this AU I'm leaning more towards Danny and Bruce being around the same age. (I've already discussed my thoughts on a possible romantic relationship for them here if you're interested)
So to set the scene:
Bruce is around 25/26 when he returns to Gotham and is intent to regain his position as CEO and majority shareholder of his parents' company while also setting himself up as The Batman. The former he accomplishes with all the pizzazz and efficiency of Elle Woods from Legally Blonde (because you can't convince me that a competent Brucie Wayne isn't just Elle Woods). But the board members still underestimate Bruce. They think he's too young, too inexperienced, and honestly? He's been gone from the face of the earth for years so they just have no idea how to deal with Bruce. And if there's one thing businessmen don't like (other than losing money), it's uncertainty.
They pressure Bruce into getting a PA because "Well, Mr. Wayne you've been gone from Gotham for so long, there's so much you need to catch up on. A PA would do wonders in keeping you organized!" It's honestly just a very thinly veiled excuse to get someone to spy on Bruce. Bruce can't figure out a way to get out of it, so he's forced to go along. He rejects ever applicant that came at the recommendation of most of his Board, and while it would be great to hire someone from Gotham, this is the era before Wayne Enterprises gained its shiny and clean personality, and there's no telling if any of these applicants have been bribed by one party or another.
Surprisingly, the answer to his problems came from a business meeting with Vlad Masters.
"If you're still looking, I'd like to recommend a candidate," Vlad said. "He's the son of some good friends of mine and had worked as my own PA for some time. He's quite good." Bruce nearly missed Vlad mutter 'almost too good' under his breath, but didn't remark on it.
"Oh? Why are you handing him to the competition then?"
"Ah, the two of us had some...differences. And the boy's at that age where he wants to see more of the world. So, why not Gotham? I'll send you his resume. Just think on it."
Despite Bruce's suspicions, there wasn't anything sketchy that he could dig up on Danny Fenton. Besides, Vlad Masters was notorious in guarding his privacy, and if he recommended Fenton, well, Bruce could at least count on him not getting bribed by anyone.

Danny Phantom Episode Breakdown
Part 1
Fucked Up Facts In Bold
1 MYSTERY MEAT
Danny states he wants to be an astronaut
Sam thinks ghosts are mainstream like cellphones (this show aired in 2004 cellphones we’re common but not every teen had one but Sam is rich so unsure if she’s just playing being disinterested to throw Jack off or she’s genuine)

Ectopusses first appearance
Jack is an expert in ghosts but has never seen one
Fenton thermos first appearance
Jack was born in a log cabin in the woods doesn’t remember where but as a child wanted a pony but had to eat horse meat during the war and had a problem with it (show aired in 2004 he was in college during the 80s so which war)
His parents invent the Fenton Finder and when outed by it almost comes out
The one-time Jazz drives Danny to school Jack immediately thinks she’s a ghost
“Why can’t they accept me for who I am?!” first hint of Sam’s issues with her parents
It’s been only a month since his accident he still can’t control his powers and thinks he should tell his parents
He already wants to be normal and Sam gives him the unique is good speech
Sam’s an ultra recyclo vegetarian Danny explains she doesn’t eat anything with a face on it (does this mean she’s just a vegan)

Tucker’s meat sense is strong enough to scent out where the meat is in the school
The school keeps boxes of meat in the basement with no refrigeration
Danny has ghost powers but Tucker is the weird one
Tucker just carries around a fork and knife (those better be plastic because real ones would get you into major trouble at school)
First appearance of Danny able to stretch himself
After his first fight Danny passes out from exhaustion and depowers
As soon as Jazz walks through the door her parents throw a smoke grenade and attack her
Danny sleeps as his friends carry him all the way home
Maddie tells Jack Danny isn’t a ghost Jack doesn’t think he is but is still suspicious of Jazz and she tries to get the modified vacuum cleaner to let go of her hair
Tucker freaks Danny out saying he was unconscious for days when it was only a few hours
Tucker and Sam then leave having an argument on whose fault it was and about changing the menu
Overnight Tucker arranged a meat fair/protest at the school and Sam a vegetarian protest and demand Danny take a side
Sam says ultra recyclo vegetarians don’t have to waste time cooking their food (so ya’ll just eat raw veggies)
The Lunch Lady attacks first appearance of Star and the two hug Danny so he can transform
Jazz is attacked by her parents after she just told Spike if he opens up to his parents they won’t attack him (can we have Spike be Jazz’s only friend at school can we make him into his own character like we did Wes)
Danny flew through a plane twice but he was invisible/intangible what were those people reacting to before Danny shouted thanks and stole that man’s water (it was in a glass didn’t planes already switch to bottles in 2004)
Jazz got her father to have a change of heart and Jack even stated he was turning his back on ghosts
First appearance of Danny using his foot as a scythe
Danny depowers
Jack says ghosts don’t exist throwing the thermos at Danny
Those little meat gremlins threw Danny to the ground from that height they fully expected to kill him a human child
Danny manages to transform and save himself and him saying thanks for the thermos was enough for Jack to feel vindicated ghosts are real and gloats in Jazz’s face
Danny uses his ghost powers to operate the thermos (he changes human again off screen between that and capping the thermos)
Danny decides not to tell his parents having decided fighting ghosts is what his powers are for
Lancer blames this all on the trio and has them clean the school grounds until nightfall
Danny being petty with his powers and crushing Dash under an avalanche of garbage dumpster meat
2 PARENTAL BONDING
First appearance of the Fenton Ghost Fisher
There is a Fenton urinal
Danny reels in Dorathea’s dragon form/first appearance of Dorathea
Dorathea loses her cursed amulet as if falls into Danny’s bag changing her back to normal and she goes back into the ghost zone crying that her horrid mummy won’t let her go to the prince’s costume ball
First appearance of Paulina and she’s so hot boys can’t take their eyes off of her to the point of tripping over themselves
Sam says girls like her are a dime a dozen Tucker and Danny immediately start counting their pocket change
Sam says you can’t judge a book by it’s cover (this will be the theme of the episode won’t it)
Sam takes offense when Danny says he gets weak kneed when he talks to girls implying she’s not cute
Sam pushes Danny to go shoot his shot but his uncontrolled powers cause his pants to fall down in front of Paulina
“a gentleman usually tips his hat but I’ll give you points for originality” (I can’t tell if she was making fun of him or trying to lighten his embarrassment)
Sam calls Paulina shallow which she takes offense to and as revenge will lure Danny away from her (she calls Sam a goth geek but to me she seems more like a poser)
Dash pushes Danny into a locker to introduce himself to Paulina (does this mean they didn’t know each other before this)
Danny is petty with his powers again overshadowing Dash/first appearance of overshadowing and gets Dash to say embarrassing gross stuff (note eyes turn green when overshadowed by Danny)
“Why do I suddenly feel like scrubbing my mom’s feet?” (so does this imply when overshadowed it can have aftereffects of the influence is it permanent how long does it last)
Paulina finds the amulet and thinks it’s beautiful (it’s not) and Danny lies that he got it for her in case she said yes to go to the dance with him
He manages to stop his pants from falling down this time
Paulina says he’s cute and has great taste in underwear (I don’t know if she’s genuine or this is her manipulation ploy)
Paulina puts on the amulet and immediately becomes influenced by it
Since Paulina is interested he forgets about getting the amulet back to his mom or sister who he believes could own it then his pants fall down
Lancer sees his pants fell down again saying it’s the third time that week calling it “dropping trow”/first appearance of him using dated slang and he wants to meet with Danny’s father to talk about it in the meantime gives Danny a belt to stay “outta trouble with the man”
Jack is so frustrated with his fishing he’ll take out his rage on the first person that gives him bad news so Danny doesn’t tell him about the conference
Danny overshadows his father for the conference about the incidents with Danny's pants
Jack/Danny lies that Danny studies so hard he forgets to eat Lancer says that explains things
Jack/Danny flatters Lancer that’s he’s Danny’s favorite teacher and the Fenton's consider teachers underpaid and underappreciated (well he’s not wrong)
Lancer is impressed and has Jack chaperone Friday’s dance “catch you later G”
When finding out Danny can control people and they don’t remember Tucker wants him to overshadow a girl for about two minutes but Danny refuses telling him he can get his own date like he did
Sam asks if he has to take off his pants and act like a dweeb for it
A discontinued fleecy tee is so trendy the sales lady tells Paulina without one she’ll have to languish as a toxic social outcast for five to sixteen weeks
This enrages Paulina so much she turns into a dragon and burns the display table
Sam says she’s glad she’s not going to the dance saves her from wearing the lame dress her parents bought her (by her tone you can tell she wanted to go)
Tucker can tell no one’s asked her and Sam is bitter that if she was as pretty as Paulina Danny says being pretty isn’t a crime Sam tells him looks are deceiving (this will play into the theme of the episode)
Paulina’s dragon form is knocked out causing the amulet to fall into a lady’s sales bag she transforms back having no memory of the fight she puts the amulet back on and thinks the tee in the bag is hers saying good things happen when you maintain a positive attitude
First appearance of Valerie she states she won’t go out with Tucker unless something happens that makes her dateless Kwan then appears/first appearance of Kwan saying his first choice said yes so he’s ditching her Tucker takes the rebound date
Jack has no memory of agreeing to chaperone it’s just a vague blur
Jazz says she knows Danny’s sudden clumsy nervousness is because he has a girlfriend Danny panics denying he’s not a ghost
Jazz warns he better warn his date his family is insane if she finds out after marriage that’s entrapment (I don’t think it is)
Danny walks out of the doorless kitchen but it then cuts to him opening a door and walking down the stairs
Sam being dateless facetimes the two with the dragon research she did but the first picture of the amulet of Aragon shows it on a thin chain when the whole time it’s thick and sectioned like a snake chain (is it because if the serpent theme also the picture is colored and the dragon depiction is accurate and it’s supposed to be from the medieval era is it an artist's rendition is Dorathea and her dragon form from actual history does this world have ghosts and cursed objects and the general populace is just unaware)
Sam’s final remarks hoping they have a wonderful evening on the date with the dragon is a cue for Danny to see she really wants to go they’re her best friends they should have known
Despite Tucker’s protests Danny overshadows him to ask Sam out (so Valerie is gonna think Tucker ditched her)
After Danny leaves his body Tucker was about to tell Sam no until he saw how hot she was in her dress (Sam you said your parents bought you that dress but it’s so your style I doubt that were you just deflecting your hurt feelings)
Paulina’s dad is the protective Papa bear type and basically gave Danny the shovel talk
“Let’s get down with our bad selves” “Yo shake that thing” “Hey G you’re my dog” (Lancer going full how do you do fellow kids)
Danny lies to Paulina that the amulet is actually Sam’s Paullina is pissed but not enough to turn full dragon
As Lancer talks to Jack about their discussion about Danny Danny overshadows Jack again and Maddie notices he sounds strange
When Jack/Danny goes up to Tucker and Sam Tucker is all too quick to throw Danny under the bus
Paulina refuses to give back the amulet or Danny believing he’s Sam’s boyfriend
Sam explains he’s her best friend and maybe that’s why she why so hard on her and says she didn’t mean to call her shallow (this could be a great character moment for them both)
Paulina then confesses she only went out with Danny to steal him from her and is disappointed so she put the amulet on Sam calling it crummy and goes to dump Danny calling him dorky
This enrages Sam calling her a shallow little witch (you know it this wasn’t rated 8+ on Nickelodeon that would be bitch)
Paulina faints from the shock (I mean yeah)
Sam’s dragon form breaks a giant hole in the school roof and no one notices
Danny sees the dragon is holding Paulina so it’s Sam he’s fighting confirmed when Sam calls Paulina shallow
Jack doesn’t recognize Lancer and demands to know why he’s talking to Maddie
Danny overshadows Jack again and lies that he didn’t recognize him because the light made him look like George Clooney (was he popular in the early 2000s)
Apparently Jack/Danny and Maddie’s dancing is so good the people on the dance floor cheer
Danny tangles dragon Sam up in the Fenton Fisher fishing line and removes the amulet and tells Sam she had a roaring time at the dance
Dash tries to flirt with an unimpressed Paulina
Danny and Sam go off to dance
As Tucker bemoans being dateless again Dorathea reappears wanting to go to the ball and Tucker freaks out
3 ONE OF A KIND
First appearance of the Box Ghost (they’re fighting in a warehouse does this imply Boxy is a dead warehouse worker)
That address on the box is labeled for Arlington Heights Illinois (they're also at a shipping at a port so is Amity Park in Illinois)
Danny thinks seals are canines (I don’t think he’ll be an astronaut)
Tucker fumbles the thermos dropping it and releasing dozens of ghost businessmen and the Box Ghost and it’s only 9 PM
First appearance of Skulker who states Danny being half human half ghost makes him one of a kind making him a fine addition to his collection
Skulker threatened Boxy that if he touches the cage he’ll adorn his fireplace with his pelt (so ghosts can be skinned)
Jazz considers her mom a genius and is happy Genius Magazine a magazine by women geniuses for women geniuses about women geniuses will answer her request to put her on that month’s cover
Danny thinks it is the swimsuit issue and thinks it’s gross his mom will be in it
Jazz sees it as an opportunity for the world to see her parents as normal and not ghost hunting freaks Danny denies they’re freaks
Maddie considers Jack to also be a genius as besides every genius woman there’s a genius man and Jack also wants to be beside her on the cover the world deserves to know the Fenton's are a family of geniuses cuts to Danny getting a D on the test (which makes sense those answers he wrote are nonsense also throw back to when they taught cursive in school and made us write in it)
Sam tells Danny he can to research on the endangered Purple Back Gorilla proving they deserve to be set free (Sam you have a fundamental misunderstanding on the importance and purpose of zoos)
Even Danny says he doesn’t have time to deal with her agendas but Tucker (blaming Sam for making him let all the ghosts out) uses his PDA to manage Danny’s time
First appearance of Mikey and when he continues screaming after Skulker webbed him to the wall and yells at him about being the world’s greatest hunter Skulker scolds him to be quiet in the library and gags him
Dash and another football player come in and the football player says he didn't do it but can appreciate high quality bullying (so bullying is highly prevalent at Casper High)
The trio spent 6 hours watching a gorilla scratch his butt
Tucker and Danny fall asleep hugging and Sam takes a picture to use as blackmail (I haven't seen a polaroid camera in years after everything went digital to the cloud they’re only just now bringing them back)
Sampson the gorilla freaks out when he hears Skulker fight a tiger he points and pulls on the door and Sam just lets him out of his enclosure (not only is the switch unlocked it’s also unguarded did this zoo just let three teens spend the night unsupervised)
Skulker’s binoculars alert him to an attacking gorilla right before Sampson goes apeshit on him (so is it because animals can sense ghosts or can Sampson sense Skulker is a threat)
Danny and Tucker sleep through the gorilla fight and Skulker crashing through the observatory tower window and most of the gorilla ghost fight round two
They are startled awake by the noise startled that they’re hugging and startled for a third time by the loose gorilla
Sampson freaks out and runs from Danny’s ghost form
Danny cuts Sam off before she warns him of the ghost and when Tucker threatens to tell everyone at school she released a gorilla she threatens them with the photo so they keep it a secret
Maddie sees Danny looking like crap and doesn’t like his overnight zoo research Danny says they just some kids at a zoo at night alone
Danny has a large sign on his door that says “DANNY’S BEDROOM”
Tucker gives him 13 minutes to sleep but Skulker was waiting calling him ghost child and captures him
Skulker explains he’s a collector of the rare and unique and that’s what Danny is and more (Skulker’s hair is now blue instead of green is it because of the dramatic lighting)
Jack and Maddie hear the loud noises from the fight and assume there's a ghost in the house (well they’re not wrong)
Sam says the noise Danny is making is from him lifting weights Maddie says he doesn’t have any when Danny yells about Jazz’s computer Sam says he’s using that
Danny crashes making a hole through the ceiling and falls into the kitchen shattering the table and Skulker kidnaps him Tucker plays off the damage as him doing karate
The interviewer is more interested in talking to Danny and Maddie wants to know what he’s doing too
Skulker has a device that can turn on the ghost portal
Sam starts lecturing about cages like how Sampson's a beautiful animal and deserves to roam free telling Skulker he should be ashamed
Skulker than takes Tucker’s PDA to Tucker’s complaint that he had three more payments on it (so technology is ghost compatible)
Now Skulker’s suit has to abide by Danny's schedule
Danny hurries and stops his family and the interviewer from seeing his destroyed room the interviewer takes his brooding messy and reclusiveness as a sign of a true genius but complains he’s not a woman
Tucker has a backup PDA to track Danny and Skulker’s schedule
Skulker hid a booby trap in a milk carton but is interrupted by the schedule now Danny realizes he could use it to his advantage
Danny gets Dash to open his gym locker triggering him to be the booby trap's victim
Even Skulker knows Dash will have an average life after high school
Danny now decides to plan to use the schedule to trap Skulker
Where did Sam and Tucker get that lifelike gorilla costume
Tucker hacks Skulker's PDA to mess with him as Danny fights him not taking the opportunity to power hi down before Skulker destroys that one and Tucker bemoans it had four more payments (I just looked it up the average price for a PDA in 2004 was about $350)
Skulker has had enough and plans to keep Danny’s pelt at the foot of his bed instead of having him live in a cage
Danny uses gorilla habits to call Sampson to fight Skulker declaring it was easy to learn his language when all he does is scratch his butt
Tucker wonders why a ghost would need a high-tech battle suit right when Sampson tears off Skulker's head to reveal a little frog sized ghost
Bending down to pick up the tech Danny is low and close enough to see something shocking about Sampson
The Genius Magazine publishes about Danny being the genius child of a genius woman discovering Sampson is actually a Delilah “Nobody at that zoo bothered to see if it was a boy or a girl?” (I know this was meant as a joke but it is possible to be mistaken recently a zoo discovered a male gorilla was a girl after she gave birth)
Lancer acknowledges he was desperate enough risk being mauled by a gorilla so gives him a C for it telling him next time try the library to get his grade up
Danny wants to take his misplaced aggression out on something then Boxy shows up he has five free minutes four more than he needs

TvShowsOr... The Crowded Room
Tumblr media
Being a Tom Holland enthusiastic can be overwhelming sometimes. Sure he has the charisma and the range, but he lacks focus. And a good management. If you really think about it, he only has one impactful work, and that's The Impossible. Sure, one can argue that his portrait of Spider-Man is the highlight of his career, in particular the third installment. Fine, I can't argue with that, but super-hero movies in general, are always faded to commercial success, specially if they're coming from Marvel and if they bring a lot of beloved actors to reprise their beloved characters. My point is: watching something from Tom for me nowadays is more a showcase of loyalty than to appreciation for the movies he puts out. I mean, just look at his previous works, Chaos Walking and Uncharted, and you'll get my drift.
All this to say that I almost decided to never give The Crowded Room a chance. First, Tom was looking dreadful in set pictures, with that hideous hair. Then, the critics weren't doing any favors to the odds against this production, or neither Tom's last acting choices. However, the lack of things for me to watch made me cave in. I joined the party once all the episodes had been released and that gay sex scene had surfaced online — which I watched it, just to have it ruining the major plot of the series for me right at the beginning. Ergh... Fortunately, not all the fun was shattered.
Danny Sullivan, a real life person who, in 1979, was arrested for an attempt of gun shooting in NY that started a major change in mental health jurisdiction in the United States, is the best character Tom has ever played. He's just magnificent throughout the entire thing. And that comes from me, a person who, up to this AppleTV original, thought that Arvin, from The Devil All The Time, was the best characther choice of his portfolio, inside the best concisive production he has ever been into. Cherry almost took that spot in my heart as it was a good contender, but that screenplay didn't make the movie justice.
It's no wonder to me why playing this complex man was challenging for Tom. Playing fractionated characters, while very good to explore ones hability, can be pretty exhausting for an actor, specially for one like Tom, who has a past in dealing with mental health issues. Even with all the problems he faced on set, I like to believe that this was, somehow, an enlightening experience for him. Hopefully, out of the dirt, he pulled out an excellent performance, which it was never really a question, since he is an formidable actor. I really hope this means he will chose more mature projects to work on in the future, since he already has Disney to keep his youthful Peter Parker persons alive for more a few more years.
Other than him, the show has another person that can deliver: Emma Rossum. I've known her since she played Fiona in the american version of Shameless. Even though that show lost its magic place inside my heart when I decided to rewatch it a few months ago, it's still undeniable that Rossum is an incredible actress who deserves all the praise, even if she doesn't seem to get much of them. In The Crowded Room I can't see her changing that fate though, because, unfortunately, she doesn't get the opportunity to shine. It's nowhere in sight an intense moment where she could've showed how good of an actress she is. As Candy, Danny's mother, she's just the woman who has an abusive husband. If the real Candy wasn't that complex, then Emma didn't have much to work with from the start, but it's a shame that the screenwriters didn't give her a Moment with a capital m, because Emma could've done one beautifully.
Alongside them, we have Amanda Seyfried and Jason Isaacs (as the psychiatry and father's friend, respectively), whose names I also already knew and that portraited their part very well, but that didn't give me much to say it about it here. From the other actors I never heard of, Levon Hawke as Johny (one of Daniel's friends), is definitely the one who steals the show. He’s just spectacular. Sam Vartholomeos, as Mike (another friend) is also incredible, but just your regular school jock. At last, I need to mention Sasha Lane as the badass, but phsyco, friend Ariana that Dan discovers along the way. That eyeliner… sharp enough to seduce anyone.
While watching them was a delight, the same can't be said to every screen time Zachary Golinger, the younger Danny, had. He was just too insufferable to watch. And don't even get me started on Emma Laird as his love interest. I mean, what producers in general have against Tom that they always chose the worst actresses to play girls Tom falls in love with? Apart from Zendaya, of course, they all are always terrible, terrible, terrible.
For me, however, the two really difficult parts of watching The Crowded Room were the unnecessary long credits and the cringe interview between Daniel and Rya on the last episode. In general, the show didn't trigger anything on me or made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, only one moment from the end of the ninth episode made me want to close my eyes. For the most part of the show, all I felt was pride to see Tom finally in a good character. Also, the story gave me good concepts of life and art (hence the "second arrow" and "blood spilled in violence" moments) that made me think a lot about my life and even inspired me to write a song, called Second Arrow, which is always a good thing. The ending, though satisfactory, felt too much like a TV show ending, not a real life ending, but how can I argue with facts, right?
As a whole, The Crowded Room is a real good watch and should've been the project with more chances to be Tom's blueprint. Unfortunately, it won't be. The room may be crowded inside Sullivan's mind, but it isn't for Holland's recognition.

So I don’t really know that much about that my blood au you created could you tell me a bit about it?
Tumblr media
Ha hah I Hope this is Edible
So My Blood Au is just Me dumping all the cool stuff i can think of into a DP what if Vlad is Good ^For Starter MB Vlad or Vladimir Jude Masters is a Paranormal investigater/ hunter/exocist in a sense. He seemingly Perfect in People eye, Not Really on the inside as he have many problem stem from living so long and going though alots of thing that he prefer not to talk about that he hide from People , go so far as to adjust his own emotion to what he find fit to the situration making him really hard to read. (Not Jack and Danielle, those are close enough 2 peel him like an onion if they sense something off). -Vlad And Danny are not same kind of Halfa in this AU, Vlad is Two soul (Half Blue Demon Vampire Ghost, Half Human twisted together and blend into one) and Danny is Soul within soul (Going though the accident give him two identical soul that over lapped each other) -Ghost are nerf and ecto beam and ecto Base attack can harm ghost but they can't harm Physical thing in living world Unless they are infuse with Core element same with Human entering Purgatory. -The world have 5 Realm: LivingWorld, Purgatory (GhostZone), Elsewhereness, Fairy Land and Unworld. +Going with the idea that originaly Vlad is supposed to be a vampire and many ghost in the series feel like they are more supernature creature then Ghost. Living world now have many Human and other Creature living among each other , hidden in plain sight +Purgatory: Where Ghost go and heal before they move onto Elsewhereness (Heaven in this verse) or Rebirth back to the living cycle. There are many area in Purgatory that fit human decription of after life look like , this is due to collective faith and ideal of many Ghost focus with each other to created these Resting stop. Incidentally like the living world these area are also watch over by being call King and Queen of the Death (Caretaker and protector of the Death soul, a being with incredible power capable of bending reality). Most well known one are the King Dark, Prince Argon and Princess Dora of the Dark Age Zone. Queen Desire of the thousand and one night. ect.. newest King of the death is Ghost Writer (library of the forgotten) but he prefer not be refer to as king, just Ghost writer. +Elsewhereness: The final resting Places of enternal Bliss. Once the Soul is ready to let go of all earthly desire, they are send here. Not much is known about this realm or it location. When a Soul reach enlightment it will automatically know where to find it. The realm also House many god. +Fairy Land: Home to care taker of the childhood inocent and many god that work to keep the universe running. Most common creature that live here is Fairy with two side one silly colorful side that appear to children to granted what ever their heart desire. The other is the Blue fortune side that Weaved the fabric of Luck and fate. +Unworld: A Dark realm with one way in no way out. It house many dangerous creature, ancient outer god and unspeakable Evil that have been banish to through age by god and human. >the Origin Story: +Vlad and Jack are Friend from Childhood (Their Bond are really tight kinda like Sworn Brother ) unlike their canon counter part meet in college. They Hunt Ghost but in more of a Release soul from their earthly bound kind of way via the info they get from the Masters Family Grilmore. (There is one major inconvience is that You need to wait for the correct day and time to perform ritual sending ghost back to purgatory so they can Move on to Elsewhereness/heaven of this verse ) +They Meet Maddie in college (Maddie and Vlad almost alway in a total clash with each other with Maddie tech almost Hunter like way in dealing with ghost and Vlad more traditional Way of Handling them) Which end with Three of them forming the Original Ghost Trio. With Maddie accept Vlad and Jack Respect the Death ideal. And Vlad and Jack incorperate More Technology into their Asset. +Maddie point out the inconvinient of having to wait for the correct day for each ghost to send them back to Purgatory (Their room are fill with
Container for ghost), Which lead to them comming up with the idea of Making a Ghost Portal. <Note: MB Vlad is not into Romantic relationship, Platonic one Matter to him more> >The Accident: No diet soda the Accident is purely due to one miscalculation that cost Vlad life (his Head got Blash Clean off infront of Jack and Maddie) In that Split Second of His face getting disintigrating, Vlad get a Glim into UnWorld (the Realm where are Demon and evil of the four realm are banish to) and Got Latched on and Pushed Back to the living world by a Demon Vampire Ghost Both Soul are now inhabited Vlad headless lifeless body, in Which about 3 day after Vlad burial that Vlad Body got completely decontructed inside the coffin and recontructed into a body that is more fitting to host both . Vlad have a hard time remembering Who he is after kinda get rebirth and Wander the world until he Get Suck into a Natural Ghost Portal and got Flunk Back in time. >Journey of an Immortal Being: -Vlad Stuck in the Past, He recovered his memories, Going through existenal crisis, Evil phase, Evil make me feel bad, Not Evil anymore, Found out that he is immortal now, Existenal crisis part2, Acceptance, Travel the World and Start doing the what ever he like, learning old way of magic still helping ghost and other supernatural being. -Caused several Major Change to the past that Mythical Creature got un extinct. (Due to the Law of life and death this does not affect who get born or not, it just that the world got alots more races now and those used to be born human in the original timeline might get born as another races entirely) -Get Mistaken for Messiah.( Look You can't kill Vlad, He would just be gone for like 3 day then comeback) -Caused the legend of Dracula. -Vampire cult have a horrible obession with Vlad as a Whole. Look like vampire act like one, can walk in plain day light and more importantly the ability to Open a Portal to Unworld . ( Vlad don't use this ability much and can only open small one as it is very energy consuming) -Meet his own ancestor Which is the Fentonightingale that Later Splited into Fenton and Nightingale (later change to Masters) leading to revealation that Jack and Him might be very distant Related. -Bickering With Time God (Do not trust the Clock Man that work for the Eyes) -Get Caught in War far too many time. -Meet Phantom (an odd entity that is oddly clingy to him) in the Great War. -Meet Other Some of the DP ghost when they still alive -The Horrible Bar incident that reveal Phantom true nature, an evil being that wish to turn the world back to it original nature of nothiness and try to turn vlad to the his side, Kill, Seal in Rock Case covered with Sigil to prevent Phantom from escape, Chuck it into the ocean. - The Contruction of the Coffin Ghost Portal. (Havent actually went into the Purgatory caused the CCP is one Way Portal. -Forming of many Hidden town that home supernatural being. Amity Park is one of them. - And many more unseen story >Daddy Stolen Ribbone saga (MB Vlad is sterile, he want to have kid but can't.) -The Vampire cult that he have grudge with attemp to Clone or at least created a child that have Vlad Power through ritual and cult like method. Imagine Danny Clone but even more mess up . -Vlad end the life of most of them by his own hand (they are suffering, it is best to let them go) -Birth of Danielle: +Danielle Evelyn Masters or just Dani/Dee for short is the only Stable child come out of this whole odeal. She is Created From Vlad Ribone like a Twisted Eve. And like in the book it caused both of them to be very attached to each other in a Fatherly Daughterly Way. +Dee Have Vlad Ghost power and Demonic Power but No ghost form (Her default funtion as both and whether she is in ghost mode or Human mode is all Up to energy control) and no connection to Unworld there for she can't open portal to Unworld. Dual Soul nature Wind/Fire.
+She like Frog and is interested in Marine biology (which Vlad have full support over, she have a room fill with Vlad hand made frog plusie that she all named. +He raise her teach her everything he know about how to deal with supernatural being and how to Snipe Vampire from a long distant with pin point accuracy.
+An kidnapped incident with the Vampire cult latter resulted in Dee Death at the age of 12 (1999), and Vlad becoming fully Merged into one Being with Plasmius. and wipe out the entire vampire cult in a horrible Vlad the impaler way). +After wiping out the remainder of the cult, vlad go into retirement and work as a wall Painter < he work supper fast on celling painting and no one know why> >The Boy Who Fly (2 year before the start of actual MB story) -Danny Gain his power at the age of 10, his parent know. The event of Portal acivation caused the whole town to have a black out. -They move House alots for 2 year. And Jack try his best to make his family as normal as they can be after accidenly k his friend all those year ago and now half eff his own son. -They finding out amity park their new home is on accident when the RV engine die mid way through the middle of no Where (The town shown it self to those in need) -Danny hide his abiltiy. But after a gym incident. and getting Praise by his peer for it instead of scold like with the adult Danny start getting bolder using Floating power around his new friend when no adult is watching. <Vlad who is Working on the Giant Raven paiting for the School Saw this and know imediately What Danny is> -They offically meet each other on the the roof top, when Danny mom ask him to go down the store and by some bread and he decided to try to Air Frog Swim to it. They become friend and Vlad even teach Danny how to fly properly before having to leave (they visit each other alots after the revealation, and vlad is a good adult friend that Danny can talk to) (Danno forgot about the bread and return home breadless) -Jack may stop with the whole Paranormal hunter/ghost scientist job but not Maddie. She keep doing it behind his back due to danny special need in ecto base consumtion (he havent grow abit since the accident and keep getting smaller and it concerning) -Jack found out and they have a Fight. which lead to Maddie go to his Sister house. -Danny Found out about why his dad was so stressed out about ghost thing now. When looking through his parent old stuff with his new friend tucker. (Dude why does your parent have a Picture of the wall painter in thier old junk). He show the image to Vlad. -Danny Get jack to tell the story about the inccident. Dad what if i tell you that Your friend who die 18 year ago survived and is on our front door right now. Reunion, Jack feeling guilty about making them both like this. Go Get Maddie. Happy reunion of the trio. -Fenton Parent become accepting to Danny condition, Danny have a good mentor that can teach him ho to control his power And they live happy ever after for now

Author's note: I’ve dug back into the depths for this bad boy, I’ve done a few little tweaks, nothing major, so please forgive the cheesy!!
Danny watched, he would do anything to be the one on his arm. Be the one that was proudly introduced as his plus one, have everyone staring at them thinking how great they were together. Instead, he was the one who stood to the side and watched, his heart breaking with every word he spoke to her or every kiss he placed on her temple. He watched the lingering hands, at her waist, or the curve of her ass. Her laugh would rip through him like a knife tearing away any hope of love he had left.
When the night ended, Danny watched as Steve led Catherine to the car, he helped her in, his hand straying up her thigh promising more later that night. Danny’s heart turned to stone, in that short moment he shut down the feelings he had for Steve McGarret. He wouldn’t let himself be run by his heart any longer. He promised he would feel nothing for the Navy Seal again.
-
“What is this?” Danny’s eyes widened at the bull of a man storming into his office and slamming papers down onto his desk in front of him. The initial shock of the other man’s entry has rocked him off guard, but quickly he composed himself knowing exactly what this was about. He shut down his face, looking up at the brunette with blank eyes and a smileless face.
“What is what?” Danny asked, playing dumb, it wasn’t a look that suited Danny but he was in no mood to be sentimental. He couldn’t be.
“Transfer papers!” Steve seethed, Danny could feel the anger rolling off him, he slammed his hand down on the papers again as if it would harden his answer. “You want to go back to HPD, you hated it there, we’re your Ohana - this is where you belong!”
“I do ,” he said simply. “That was before I knew anyone there and since then I have made connections, friends even. So yes, I want to go back to HPD.” It was a shitty cover and Danny knew that but it was better than telling Steve the truth.
“Bullshit!” The Seal shouted, making the glass around them rattle. The noise caused the cousins to appear from their respective offices to see what the commotion was about. “What’s the real reason Danny?” His voice dropped suddenly becoming calmer and silky, he used that voice to coax things out of people, luring them into a false sense of security. Danny knew what he was trying to do, it was Danny’s weakness, that silky voice went straight past his head to his heart, by passing every reason to not tell him the truth.
“It’s you,” Danny said quietly, he cursed silently to himself, why did he have to say it. “I have to get out of here, I can’t keep going with the possibility that I might get shot everyday and then one day it be fatal, I have Grace and Charlie to think about.” He lied, he had too, that was what he kept telling himself. The lie tasted sour on his tongue, it was like sucking on a lemon slice.
“So you're just going to go?” Steve asked in disbelief, Danny watched Steve’s face. In a matter of a few seconds, confusion, shock and hurt crossed his face, but they were all quickly covered by the mask he had been trained to use too often.
“Got any better ideas? At least with HPD they’ll think before storming into a burning building or actually call for backup when entering a building that we know has automatic weapons in it.” Danny fumed, he was angry now. That was good, angry was better than the ache in his chest. He was trying to stay calm, he was the cause of the problem so he should have a handle on it, but he couldn’t, he just wanted to scream at him calling him every name under the sun before kissing the man until he fried every brain cell he had left. Steve just stared at him, he didn’t have any better ideas, storming into burning buildings was how Steve worked and he didn’t think he could change.
“Fine go,” Steve said coldly, he grabbed the papers from the desk and signed them, he threw in Danny’s face before storming out the office and then the building entirely. They all heard the squeal of tires from outside.
“Never take you for a coward.” Kono sighed walking in. She looked at the blonde man and shook her head, she had always had so much respect for him until now. “You should have told him!”
“No I shouldn’t have!” Danny hiss getting up, his chair skidding backwards. “He doesn’t have a fucking clue and that’s how I want it, I don’t give a shit about him anymore. Everything I have done or thought of has been about him, now this is for me, so deal with it!” Like his ex-partner, he stormed out and drove off. He just drove, not caring where he was going.
Danny ended up in the unexpected place of the South Shore, he had come here a few times with Steve. They were good memories here, they had sat there and chatted after a case, or when Danny had come to meet him after he had been surfing. It was times like that Danny wanted to remember, but they only made his heart ache even more. He slammed his fist into the steering wheel setting the horn off, the couples walking along the beach screamed and jumped, then sent inventive curses in his direction.
Danny left the happy couples there, he didn’t want to ruin their day any more, he didn’t want to take his mood out on anyone else, he already felt guilty about Kono. He drove home, parked the car and entered his shitty apartment. The living room was the first thing he entered when coming through the door and seeing someone sitting on the floor lent against the wall was not what he expected to see.
His heart hammered in his chest until he realized who it was. “What are you doing here?”
“Kono told me, she told me the real reason why.” When Danny saw the man sitting on the floor his heart broke, the promise he made to himself went out the window and all he wanted to do was curl up beside him and hold him in his arms. Steve’s eyes were red raw, they had been rubbed repeatedly, either wiping the tears away or stopping them before they could come.
“I told her not to.” Danny sighed slamming the door shut, the sound echoing around them. He walked across the room to the kitchen where he removed two Longboards from the fridge, this was his answer, try and get as drunk as possible.
“Why? Why wouldn’t you tell me?” Steve questioned after the silence had become too much for either of them to bear.
“Because you had Catherine and you most definitely show no inclination of being gay - or being interested” Danny spat the words out like they were venom on his tongue. All the anger that he thought had melted away came rushing back with a vengeance.
“I’m not with Catherine,” Steve shouted, pushing himself up from the floor and running his hand through his hair roughly. “We’ve just had a quick fuck now and then, I had no one for the event, so she came with me.” He answered with a shrug. It was no big deal to him, it didn’t matter. “She wanted to rub shoulders and I wanted to get laid.”
Danny ground his teeth together, he knew Steve was just trying to get at him to wind him up. Danny glared hatefully towards him where he was leant against the worktop, draining the bottle in hand and leaving it on the side when he pushed away. He shoved past the brunette heading for his bedroom, hoping to slam the door and wait him out until he left. But he had one last thing to say. When he turned to spit his angry words, Steve was right behind him and ran directly into him. “What the fuck?!” Danny spat, pushing the Seal away from him. He couldn’t be this close to him, it didn’t matter how angry he was. He was still attracted to him, everything about him and now just being this close to him, made Danny want to forget everything and just kiss him.
A smug look crossed Steve’s face, Danny felt like he was reading him like a book. He didn’t budge, just stood there looking down at the blonde. “What is it? Can’t you be near me anymore?” He asked pushing into Danny’s space, making him back up until his back hit the door behind him. “Don’t you want me now? Because it was a few hours ago, Kono said, ``You wanted me?” Steve pressed, his hands coming up and laying flat against the door, either side of Danny’s head. He loomed down over him. Danny could feel himself buckling under the need for the other man.
His heart raced. His stomach turned like there were a million butterflies swarming within, his palms grew slick with sweat; and his breath came in short puffs as he tried to swallow thickly.
“No.” Danny gulped, attempting to be as firm as possible. His might was shutting down with Steve being close, with Steve knowing how he felt, or at least knowing that he wanted him. “No, I don’t.” He answered more clearly, clearing his throat. He attempted to push the man away, duck under his arm to get away from being so close. Instead when his hands touched the bodily warmed clothes of the man Danny’s mouth went dry and he felt the heat run wild across his body. Instead, Steve kept him in place. Pushing closer until there was no more than hair's breadth between them. His gaze was piercing, watching Danny like a hawk. He never said he wanted this, never showed any inclination of being interested in men and now Danny was confused and angry, but more confused.
The brunette’s hand came away from the door and settled itself on Danny’s shoulder, slowly running the length down his arms, before they moved to his waist. Steve wet his lips, making them shine under the dim light filtering into his apartment.
“Steve.” The tone was warning. He didn’t want this if Steve just saw it as a way to keep him on the team. He didn’t want this if he only wanted to get laid. Danny was serious, he wanted something serious.
“Danno.” That nickname came out rough. Husky and full of temptation. Steve’s hands tighten at the blonde’s waist, his fingers digging in at a bruising grip. But it was like a reality check, telling Danny that this was real. That this was not a dream.
They stared at each for seemed like an age, but couldn’t have been anymore than a minute. It seemed that was all Steve needed before he ducked his head and pressed his mouth to Danny’s. The kiss was chaste, soft even. Nothing like what Danny had expected. It was teasing. He wanted more. Danny made a small sound in the back of his throat, need, that was what it was. He needed more. His own hands crept up the military man’s chest, until his fingers traced at his jaw before curling around his neck and pulling him in for another kiss. A better kiss one that would like until they needed to breathe.
Their lips moulded together, parting to allow the battle of dominance with their tongues. Steve pushed and he won, his tongue flicking teasingly against the roof of Danny’s mouth. Danny nipped at his lip in retaliation and Steve growled. He really growled into the other man’s mouth, like he was a goddamn animal. Still the sound, that sound, made Danny moan like a horny teenager. His hips bucking in an instinctive response to that need, the control Steve had clearly taken.
The kiss broke and Steve had Danny pinned in an instant. His hands searched for skin under his top, pulling the shirt from his waistband and tearing it apart. Buttons popped across the room scattering much like Danny’s mun. “Fucking neanderthal.” Danny hissed when Steve bit at his now bare shoulder. Secretly, or maybe not so secretly with how hard he was getting, Danny loved it.
His shirt pushed from his body and Steve explored the other man like it was his last dying request. His palms rough against the sensitive skin, scraping and nails biting as Danny attempted to find some friction to take the burning edge of desire that was building at the base of his spin. God, he needed something.
Steve flicked his thumb across Danny’s nipple, forcing a breathless hiss to pass Danny’s lips. Then his mouth took over and he suckled at the peak until Danny was shaking and begging Steve for more. He needed more, he needed him. There was a wet sound as Steve pulled away from Danny’s chest, his mouth finding the other man’s once more as he drew him into a searing kiss. If this was it, Danny knew he would have died a happy man.
“You should have told me sooner.” Steve said breathlessly between the kisses. “Fucking should have told me.” He added with a mutter, almost whining when he felt Danny’s hand pressed against the thickness growing in his pants.
“Sure thing babe.” Danny pantted, his mouth finding the slope of Steve's jaw to his throat and latching on, sucking a mark into his skin. Proof. Proof that when he looked at the man tomorrow this would be real and not a dream. “Bed.” Danny added with a breath after breaking away, pushing Steve backwards a little until he got the picture. They moved towards the bed, more clothes shedding in the process. Steve’s shirt hitting the floor. Both their belts being undone and pulled away, landing a few steps away and then their jeans followed, or in Steve’s case. Cargo pants.
It left them both in their boxers as they fell onto the bed, Steve climbing on top of the blonde and pulling him back into an earth shattering kiss that made his toes curl. Steve settled one knee between the other man’s thighs, pressing against Danny and giving him something to rut against. There was no shame as he all but dry humped Steve’s thigh, looking for some sort of relief.
They kissed with such passion it burned both of them. Teeth clashed and the kisses were bruising as they both fought to find release and explore as much of each other they could. Hands roamed freely and without fear. Steve dug his hand deep into Danny’s blonde locks, pulling at the roots, forcing his head back so he could bite along his throat, soothing each of them with a swirl of his pointed tongue. The rough edge spurred Danny on, his hips rollings and bucking with such insistence and need it was becoming unbearable.
Steve’s free hand, the one that had been previously clutching tightly at Danny’s hip, changed, moving further south and pushing past the band of Danny’s boxers. Danny’s body arched and pushed into Steve. It wrapped around him and started slowly, moving up and down his length. The friction easing with the pre-cum that was leaking readily out the tip of Danny dick.
“Jesus.” Danny gasped, his mouth falling open at the touch. Steve licked into his mouth, tasting him. Revelling in the desire he was sure he could taste on the other man. Steve’s hand was relentless, never stopping as it fisted Danny’s cock drawing him closer and closer to orgasm. He moaned and muttered with abandonment, barely hearing Steve’s own voiced pleasure as he overtook him. Stars started to form in Danny’s vision, blurring the face of the man he knew he loved. Then it hit him, like he was hit in the chest from a bullet made of the darndest things. Knocking the air from his lungs and drawing a strangled cry from his lips.
Danny lay there panting, Steve led on him his own breath pressing falling in rapid succession, unable to regulate. His hand was still wrapped around him and slowly drawing the last dregs of his orgasm from him, riding him through the last of the pleasure.
As Danny started to regain some function in his body, in his mind, he came to realize that Steve hadn’t come. “You didn’t, let me.” Danny muttered winded, however still trying to move so he could bring Steve to his own climax. He heard Steve’s breathless laugh and felt it against his skin.
“I did.” Steve hummed, pressing his face into the crook of Danny’s throat. “I did.”

TLOU2: Abby
MAJOR SPOILERS
So, I’ve been doing a lot of shitting on the game and I stand by it, but I want to get into how I feel about Abby. I don’t actually hate her, but I despise how the game handled her.
Lemme start by saying, when her character intro was dropped I was hyped as hell. Who is this buff mystery woman? I know a lot of fans were upset to not have Ellie/Joel content but I was intrigued by this trailer. Obviously this woman must be important. I thought she was going to be Anna, and imagined a thousand scenarios where we got flashbacks of Anna, Anna was possibly alive and that created conflict with Joel and Ellie and got into “what really makes a family” or something. Super pumped.
I also was more excited immediately recognizing Laura Bailey’s voice. I am a massive fan. Importantly, I also adored her as Nadine Ross in Uncharted. Naughty Dog gave us a buff, kind of scary woman antagonist who kicks your ass tremendously and the whole time I fuckin loved her. She scared me but I thought she was so cool, and was so excited for her to be in Lost Legacy. Same game company, same actress, but they fucked up big time in The Last Of Us Part 2.
I think perhaps the biggest roadblock to getting people to like her is the story order, as I and many many others have talked about, but the problems also extend beyond that. Giving us time to get to know Abby before she kills Joel would have been the most important first step but the way the game tries to FORCE you to like her is a massively glaring issue. Especially with how the game ends, her story is riddled with hypocrisy.
Every things the game punishes Ellie for, Abby is guilty of. ND uses this to attempt to convince the player that Abby is like Ellie, but she does not suffer the same fate, and the parallels are not subtle enough to be clever, just ham-fisted. Abby would have offered herself up for a cure? Ellie also probably would, but ELLIE didn’t get to make that choice. (Side note: Abby’s dad Jerry is incredibly unlikeable for me. They push a scene of him going out of his way to save a Zebra to humanize him, then he’s on board with sacrificing a child who cannot make this choice herself, pressures Marlene into agreeing, and then has no idea why Marlene would want to inform Joel? Fuck this guy so hard.)
Two flashback scenes do a shit job of being a parallel in the lighter-moment relationships between the dad/daughter pairs. In a scene with Joel and Ellie, Joel incorrectly guesses Ellie is into Jesse. It’s funny because we the audience know that she is into Dina, and I wrote it off as oh, silly clueless dad Joel. But in the Zebra sequence, Jerry correctly guesses that Abby is into Owen. It almost felt like the game was trying to suggest that Jerry and Abby knew one another better than Ellie and Joel do. My found family vs bio family issues with that idea aside, if it’s true, it’s not like we got to see any development between Jerry and Abby to give a single fuck about these people over Ellie and Joel, ESPECIALLY after Joel’s brutal death.
Now, for Jerry’s death, the performance was good, and I tried my hardest to be sympathetic. A young girl lost her father and possibly friends in that hospital fight. That’s awful. If I could pretend like I hadn’t seen Joel die, (or if that was how the story order played) I would feel bad for her. What happened to her is horrible and tragic.
The next issue is the death of Abby’s friends. Two main issues for sympathy: story order, the context of their deaths. Learning about Nora or Mel or Owen after they’ve died already makes it a challenge to feel something for them, and we spend so little time with them that I genuinely forgot their names pretty quickly. But worse is how their deaths play out. All of them fight Ellie. Ellie did not go out of her way to kill them, she wanted Abby, not them. The woman with the headphones (see how little I remember names?) understandably tried to fight to get free. Don’t blame her, don’t really mourn her either.
Mel and Owen are rightfully not trusting Ellie, and try to fight to get free because they think they will die either way. Can’t really blame them for fighting to get away, but I also can’t blame Ellie for having to kill them either. We the audience already know that Mel is pregnant, but Ellie doesn’t, and by putting Mel in a jacket that covers her belly, the game makes sure Ellie doesn’t know until she’s already dead. Again, Ellie isn’t given a choice, this time where she could have tried harder to spare Mel for the baby. As a result, she feels like a monster.
The one friend death that hit more like I think it intended was Nora, but probably not for the reasons ND intended. Nora insults Joel to Ellie and I don’t blame Ellie for reacting with anger. Super fucked up, puts Nora in a greater chance to get killed, just to hurt Ellie. I wanted to kill Nora. That being said, catching up to Nora as she’s choking on spores was not how I expected it to go. I commend Nora for defending her friend (Abby) by not revealing her location. But I also don’t blame Ellie for trying to force Nora to talk. Ellie swinging with tears in her eyes, practically pleading with Nora to tell her without needing to cause pain, is more humanizing than Abby, who was seemingly unresponsive to Ellie’s sobs while killing Joel. Ellie feels like a monster here, Abby does not. More than the idea of torture what doesn’t sit right with me about Nora is not Ellie’s decision, but that ND cast a lot of minorities into roles that face the most gruesome violence and deaths, often and usually for the advancement of a white person’s story.
On the flip side, we have Ellie’s friends. We have Jesse, a funny and charming character that provides some light moments and good banter with Ellie. We know him, we like him, we have grown attached to him (I know his fucking name) and then he is killed pretty dismissively, again as a minority prop to someone’s story, (Don’t even get me started on Dina). Jesse is running into a room, gets shot suddenly, we see a kinda gorey shot of his bloody face wound. It’s shocking, and there is no room to mourn because we immediately go back to playing as Abby and I’m supposed to feel bad for her after she killed her SECOND major character. No way.
In this lengthy flashback as Abby, many of her friends are unlikeable, especially Manny.  When their friend Danny is shown in the body bag I was searching my memory for if he was one that I killed cause I couldn’t remember. I already know these people die, and often die after hurting or insulting Ellie and Joel, so I’m not quick to support them. Some of these characters shit-talk Joel and say they wish worse had happened to him. I don’t know any of these people long enough to feel things from their perspective.
A part that really sticks out for the hypocrisy is before you meet Isaac, when you’re in the apartments where several Scars are held prisoner. We know that the WLF and Scars are at war, but that I don’t know why, mixed with the fact that I don’t give enough of a shit about people on either side, makes it hard to care. I see them similarly to Hunters vs FEDRA. Don’t really like either of you, so knock yourselves out. The image of Scars tied up in cages and in obvious torture rooms was already not a great way to win me over OR give me a good side of Abby, but when Abby delivers the line suggesting she’d want to torture these people, you continue to lose me. Ellie is riddled with guilt, Abby does not seem to be, and talks sadistically about the Scars. Even if you want to suggest this is a parallel to Joel, the way he speaks of his atrocities is ALSO riddled with guilt and self-disgust. Perhaps Ellie’s most sadistic points are in gameplay when taking people out and she insults them, but these scenes ALWAYS have these people attack Ellie first and defend herself. I’d call them fuckers too.
They do all this, and try to SHOVE in moments obviously there to wink wink nudge me to like Abby, and they don’t work. I’ll be honest, in game 1, i didn’t immediately like Ellie. I could see where the story was going and wasn’t going to like her just because they thought I should. The pacing allowed me to come to like her on my terms. It was just the two of us all game so I had plenty of time to like her. By Bill’s town I came to really like her, and by the end of the game, she became one of my favorite characters of any piece of media.
The game gave me no time to like Abby, and moments I did kind of like her, they slapped me in the face with an obvious device meant to make me like her, and it isolated me further. The whole game made me go “yeah, yeah I get it.” You know when Manny tries to get Abby and Mel to be on good terms and he’s just way too obvious about it? I feel like Manny is Neil (and yeah the posts about their similarity is not lost on me). ND doesn’t let me grow to like these characters without this ever-present 4th-wall loom of “Do you like Abby yet? See, she’s like Ellie.”
I was very excited for this character, I was excited for Laura, I was excited for a character with “unconventional” proportions (I’m also a slut for ladies with big muscles, so there’s that), and I’m just left disappointed. I feel bad for Laura, I feel bad for what Abby could have been. Done right, she would have been a compelling character, but ND fucked her over almost as much as Ellie and Joel.

The Ghost Zone’s Running Joke Part 2 (Lila Salt Fic)
I find it fitting to finish this in October. Fits the Halloween season.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vlad Masters is here to take on the role of Mayor of Amity Park. Lila’s sees her golden ticket in the billionaire. His money makes the Agrestes look like paupers. His wealth and the connections that can be made through him might just be enough for the A-Listers.
It’s not hard to notice the strained relationship between Danny and Vlad. Danny wants nothing to do with the man. No matter what Vlad does, the high schooler aggressively rejects it. Lila figures she can do for him what she did for Mr. Agreste: spying and giving reports. In return, pulling some strings for a good internship at city hall or one of his businesses. The status of an internship at a good place and future in making lots of money might just be enough.
Lila makes her move. She’s able to catch Vlad after another failed attempt. Far from the students’ prying eyes, an offer is made. She’ll help him keep an eye on Danny, and give Vlad information on the teenager. The offer is prettied up to sound nicer then saying it’ll involve spying and violating Danny’s privacy. There’s regret in not cozying up to Danny. Would’ve made things easier.
Vlad turns her down. Says some things about not wanting to violate his trust like that. Wants to win him over his own way. In reality, he doesn’t need her. There’s spy cameras in the Fenton home and ghosts on his payroll. Besides, why would he want the help of a human female minor? Not a good look.
Lila is disappointed, but is not ready to give up yet. Plots form in her head to arrange situations to her advantage. ‘Accidently’ bumping into him and just so happen to have some interesting information. Too bad for her, the plan doesn’t workout to well because of a new lie she’s telling Casper High students.
Plasmius spotted in Amity Park gives Lila inspiration for a new lie. She claims the ghost is kind to her. Implies he sees her as attractive. The teenager doesn’t have the life experience to understand why this is a problem. Thinks admiration like this from an adult means nothing.
Let’s just say it’s an understatement this doesn’t go down well with the adults. When the students tell their parents, there’s an uproar. A recent Plasmius and Phantom fight at the school adds fuel to the fire. The fight is now seen as the ghost hero protecting minors from a pedophile.
People demand city hall, the Fentons, and the Guys in White to prioritize hunting down the Wisconsin Ghost. Phantom is not a major threat compared to the older ghost. Heck, Phantom has been seen to reject advances from his fans.
Vlad is forced to go along with this. If he hesitated it’d look very bad. Only saving grace here is Lila is a known liar among the ghosts. Things would have gone very bad for him otherwise. After this catastrophe, Vlad is cold to Lila. Refuses to humor her much to her dismay. What a lovely introduction to the Ghost Zone’s running joke.
Meanwhile with Team Phantom, they’re having a group meeting on what to do about Lila. Danny catching Lila stalking him (as Fenton) is the last straw. Danny is all for calling her out. It irritates him to watch the liar being fawned over for a fake connection. The friendship lie is encouraging his fans to be bolder.
Sam, the voice of reason, vetoes this plan. Trying to disprove Lila’s lies as Fenton is a horrible idea. No one will believe the loser at the bottom of the social hierarchy. It also adds a target on his back. Who knows what Lila will do to keep a lid on this. That Lila is willing to stalk, snoop, and snitch to Vlad is not good. It shows the teenager won’t stop at small lies to get what she wants.
On the other hand, confronting her as Phantom will make people think there’s a grain of truth in Lila’s story. It’ll be easy to twist it as a falling out. Besides, they don’t want to bring more attention on the ghost attacks at the school then there already is. If people believe Phantom, then it’ll be obvious the hero is at the school often enough to hear it. Which means more scrutiny and surveillance.
Tucker has a plan. Simply pretend to have no idea who Lila is or haven’t heard the rumors. One day an Amity Park resident is going to point blank ask him. It’ll be easy to stick around long enough after a ghost fight at Casper High. A student will be sure to bring up the subject.
Luckily for Danny, an opportunity appears within a week. After capturing a ghost, he allows Paulina to catch up to him. Paulina does the usual gushing over him. When she brings up Lila, he sticks to the plan. “....Oh you’re talking about that long haired Brunette. Layla? Lie-la?” Let’s just say the popular girl is not happy to have been made a fool of in front of the entire school. It’s one thing to tell unimportant white lies. It’s another thing to make Paulina look stupid.
Paulina is not the only one finding out about Lila’s lies. Some Amity Park residents have noticed the ghosts reaction to Lila. Their interactions stand out as most ghosts don’t usually target an individual. If they do, it’s usually a one time thing. That this girl is well known to the ghosts and this drama hasn’t calmed down yet is suspicious.
Lance Thunder manages to get an on the scene interview with a ghost. He asks the burning question: “What’s so funny about this girl?” Other ghosts invite themselves to the interview when word spreads. It’s revealed Lila lied about knowing the ghost hero. It’s funny to them how hard the girl tries to be Phantom’s friend. Unknowingly, her actions cause him to keep his distance from her. Respecting Phantom, the ghosts don’t reveal his Halfa status. That doesn’t stop them from sharing stories. They just neglect to mention if it happened as Phantom or Fenton.
“I held her hostage and Phantom didn’t believe me when I said I had his friend. Told me all his friends are accounted for. He had no idea who this girl was.”
“She stalks him.”
“The child told me to my face Phantom will permanently end me if I harmed her. If she really knew him, she’d know Mr. Hero Complex would never cross that line.”
As the witnesses go on, it’s pretty clear Lila is a liar. This combined with Paulina’s revenge campaign, Lila’s rise as a future A-lister is finished. She never did manage to find a solution to rich requirement in time.
Lila is the social pariah at the school. Lower on the totem pole than Team Phantom and the nerds. There’s no escape to a new school this time. Mrs. Rossi is dealing with the aftermath of the ‘Ladybug is incompetent’ lies. (She finally got around to telling her boss about it.) Mr. Rossi is trying to transfer to another city, but Amity Park has a bad reputation. Outsiders view the ‘ghost believing fanatics’ lowly.
Mrs. Rossi doesn’t have any family to turn to. Her only family members left died years ago. Mr. Rossi is an orphan. It’s a hard choice, but Lila is staying in Amity Park. The uncertain future of Mrs. Rossi’s job is the deciding factor. There’s money to spare for anti-etco defenses. Unlike ghosts, there’s no products to deal with Akumas.
So Lila is stuck in Amity Park until her dad finds a new job in a different city. It’s not so fun being known as the town liar. Or the Ghost Zone’s laughing stock. No one believes her when the Box Ghost moves the packed boxes in the art room. Or Phantom calling her the girl who cried wolf.
The drama filled the ghosts’ boredom. Watching Phantom doing his best to tolerate her is a must see for visiting ghosts. They still for years tease him about his ‘dishonest friend.’

Bad Boy!AU with Seungcheol
Tumblr media
moodboard link
Group: Seventeen
Member: S.Coups / Choi Seungcheol
Genre: fluff, romance
Additionally: college!au
Type: Bulletpoint AU
Word Count: approx. 2.5k
don’t worry, Seungcheol isn’t even really a bad boy
he’s really just… misunderstood?
actually that’s not a good word for it
it’s in the sense that his reputation makes him to be seen as a bad boy
it’s probably because of the leather jacket
and the motorcycle
and the piercings (mainly the ears)
and the tattoos
it also doesn’t help either that he’s keeps a small circle of friends
there’s nothing wrong with rolling with a smaller group
it just means a lot of people don’t actually know him and that causes more rumors about his personality
he hangs around Wonwoo and Minghao the most
Wonwoo is known to be handsome, but is also super cold to strangers
(more of a shy thing than a rude thing—a whole different story)
on the other hand, Minghao is one of those people who are brutally honest
(which makes him seem like an inconsiderate asshole)
and because people tend to lump people together
they just assume that Seungcheol is the same as those two are: cold and rude
in reality, he’s just a bit more reserved than others
makes people earn his trust, but some people found that unreasonable apparently
people are just so judgmental sometimes, especially in a small town where everyone wanted know everything about everyone
so, for college, Seungcheol picked out a city to study
because the larger populations lets him blend in with the others
tbh, let’s be real…. he def isn’t the only one who’s wearing all black on a college campus lmao
Wonwoo at some point: “look, we’re twinning”
Seungcheol: “it’s not twinning if you only wear black and keep wearing black”
Wonwoo: :(
anyways
he chose to study business
basic but it’s simple
it ensures that he’s going to have a stable job and by the of the day that’s all that matters to him
stability
also the business suit he has covers everything nicely, so it isn’t like he has visible face tattoos or piercings
not that it’s bad, but….. capitalism, you know? homeboy would like money
so, while his hometown called him a bad influence on other kids
the college sees him as another hottie in the leather jacket
he’s probably would’ve been the campus heartthrob—had it not been for the fact that he went to same school as Wonwoo, Mingyu or that new freshie who calls himself Vernon
there was one time in his theology class that he took off his leather jacket right?
the arm muscles flexing and the tattoo sleeve……….. it’s safe to say everyone took a double take during class that day
as for his academic marks……….
I mean, yeah, he doesn’t have the top grades to make it on a dean’s list or anything, but
he’s got academic scholarships and that’s enough tbh
he might not be a genius prodigy like Jihoon, but he isn’t stupid
Jeonghan: “wait, you’re not cheating off of him?”
Seungcheol: “no, Jeonghan…………. are you?”
Jeonghan: “yeah, no, I thought it was like a thing that we all agreed to”
Seungcheol: “Jeonghan, no”
Jeonghan: “Jeonghan, yes”
so he’s not like a major try-hard like all those A+ obsessive people from high school
but he does make the effort
he’s just trying to live a nice, quiet life on campus to graduate—just like everyone else here
although
there is this habit of his that he’s been trying to break: being late to class
his attendance record isn’t great……….
like he’ll be there….. but he’ll be there like five to ten minutes late so it doesn’t really matter but
it’s like a personal pet peeve about himself
granted, it doesn’t matter when most professors don’t even take attendance
but it’s also because he works really late hours at a nearby convenience shop on campus
so………. the end result is tardiness
and he’s trying to work on it
which is also how he meets you
you see, Seungcheol met you in a………… unique situation
so, Seungcheol has found it easier to go around in his motorcycle, especially in a city
and especially on a college campus
and it’s like 20x faster than walking
it’s also good for when he’s late for his morning classes because he can easily make it to the other side in campus in like 2 minutes vs the original 10 minutes
so on a bright Tuesday morning
after he overslept his alarm (once again)
he quickly got dressed and hopped on his motorcycle to get to the other side of campus for class
….. only for him to quickly stop after hearing your scream
he didn’t necessarily hit you per say but it didn’t mean you managed to pass by untouched
you were rushing off to class too
on all days to be late………. it just had to be the day you had a midterm that’s 30% of your final grade
so you were rushing through
unable to see the motorcycle that was heading your direction
which is your fault but that’s also his fault for not seeing you until you screamed when he nearly hit you, running over a toe or two
he immediately stopped, running over to you
Seungcheol: “oh my God, are you alright?”
You: hair messed up, in pain, and survived the heart attack he gave you
You: “sure”
Seungcheol: “are you sure? I can take you to the hospital or—”
You: no, no, I am already as late as is and, and, and…….”
you trail off, remembering the motorcycle that laid a couple of feet away
You: “instead of the hospital, how about a ride instead? I cannot miss this midterm”
Seungcheol was taken aback from your commitment and strange request, but complied nevertheless
Seungcheol: “are you sure?”
You: “absolutely, hustle man, hustle—we gotta go”
Seungcheol scrambles, starting up the motorcycle and handing you a helmet
which you gladly grab and attach yourself behind him with your arms on his waist
he’s a bit flustered from your proximity
what if he was a murderer and you just hopped onto his bike?
I mean, he obviously isn’t but still
You: “sir, chop-chop, pls move, my ass needs to get to McGregor”
Seungcheol: “yes, right”
it takes less than a minute to get there, especially since there weren’t many others on the pathways
you hastily get off his motorcycle, tossing his helmet back at him and running off
You: “thank you!!!!”
Seungcheol: “you’re welcome?”
he watches as you run into the building, with nothing more on your mind than your midterm
how odd
he shakes his head, clearing his head of you before going to park his motorcycle and locking it—he’s got his own problems to worry about right now
(he re-told the story to a couple of his friends, in which Jihoon said: “watch yourself, you could get a lawsuit coming one of these days” and Seungcheol just rolled his eyes)
it’s about two weeks before he sees you again
so fun fact, his college requires community involvement/field assignment
and he chose to be in the big brother program
so he’s a big brother to this adorable 6 year old girl named Rose
he filled his requirement long ago, but he highkey loved it so he remained as a big brother to Rose
who he has to take out trick-or-treating for the Halloween event the program set up
can you imagine Seungcheol in his leather jacket and tattoos and piercings with a little group of 6 year olds
the chaos
Rose: “what did you dress as?”
Seungcheol: “uhhhhhh….. Danny from Grease”
Rose: “who’s that?”
Seungcheol: oh my God I’m old
they get a door that’s got some fake cobwebs and bright purple string lights
Seungcheol: “go ahead little ones, knock on the door”
they yell out trick or treat and the door creaks open to…….. you
you and your friends happened to be gathering together for Halloween and decided to meet up at your friend’s old house which was in the neighborhood that Seungcheol was in
you all originally planned to watch a bunch of bad supernatural movies and give out candy to little kids
all of y’all took turns at the door and it was your turn
you give the kids a sweet smile in your doctor’s costume
(or, at least, he’s assuming it’s a costume—maybe it is and maybe it isn’t)
after you pass out the candy, Joshua, the other chaperone, rounds up the kids and Seungcheol’s eyes met your widened ones
You: “oh! it’s motorcycle dude!”
Seungcheol: “motorcycle dude?”
You: “........ you were the one who hit me with his motorcycle right?”
Seungcheol: “has anyone else hit you with a motorcycle?”
You: “so it is you!”
you two chat a bit, especially since they have to start moving to the next house
Joshua: “bro, we have to get moving, stop flirting in front of the children!”
Seungcheol: “I’m not flirting!”
he turns back to you
Seungcheol: “I’ll see you around, please don’t sue me”
You: “sue you?”
Seungcheol: “I’m a broke college kid”
You: “so am I dude”
Joshua gives him another look and another warning before they start to move to the other house
You: “you know, if you have spare time, you’re welcome to join my friends and I—we’re going to be making fun of Twilight later together”
Seungcheol: “I might take you up on that offer”
You: “well, we’ll be here, so”
you give him a smile that makes him stutter for a second, before he waves you goodbye to join the others
Rose: “Joshua says you like the doctor”
Seungcheol: “well, Joshua’s not that smart”
Joshua: “hey!”
he doesn’t know what compels him to go back to the house
but he does
(it might have taken a word or two from Rose and Joshua to encourage him)
and he has a really good time with you and your friends
hearing Seungkwan roasting Robert Pattinson was something Seungcheol didn’t know he needed
Soonyoung’s attempt of creating bgm on top of the soundtrack was also equally as hilarious
and then there were your side remarks with him throughout the movie
which he did enjoy
he left the house that night with a couple of new numbers in his phone
Jeonghan would be proud of him for making new friends on his own
after that night, you and Seungcheol hang out a bit more
you get to know each other
turns out the so called bad boy is actually just a major softie
surprise surprise, I know
he’s got a tattoo for his mom (a little heart on his heart)
he’s great at braiding (due to braiding Rose’s hair)
and he picked up sewing to patch up the holes that his friends created in their shirts
major heart eyes for Seungcheol
and he learns more about you and your little quirks
at some point, he even shares some things that happened back home
which was a bit hard for him to do but you were incredibly understanding
people just suck sometimes
one good thing about cities is that everyone minds their own business so
anyways
while he’s met your friends, you’ve also met his
you and Jeonghan are now the chaotic duo that Seungcheol wishes he can undo
Jeonghan: “are you fucking cheating? in front of my salad?”
You: steals another $50 bill from the monopoly pile
You: “no”
Jeonghan: “pay me off”
Wonwoo: “we are sitting right fucking here”
anyways
you two continue to hang out together as time goes and it’s great
sometimes you even hang out with him and Rose and it’s super cute
especially when you watch Seungcheol care for Rose like an actual sister
maybe that’s when the heart eyes started
he just……….. knows how to take care of people
he’s very attentive and understands that different people have different needs
it’s all……… very attractive
he’s very attractive
not in just the physical aspect
the inside *chef’s kiss*
Seungcheol doesn’t know when he started liking you either
maybe it was the way you really listened to what he said
you encouraged and supported him to do what he wanted
and told people off if they did say something about him
along with telling him to ignore them because it’s all stemming from jealousy and hate
and he knows that but it’s always nice to know he has someone on his side
so, what changes?
one movie night, there’s some generic rom com that you’ve already forgotten about
the blanket you’re both sharing isn’t the only heat you’re feeling
his knee knocks lightly against yours
your shoulders touching his
his fingers lingering on yours
then he’s moving closer
and closer
and then your lips meet
it’s soft, but firm
and that was the first day you started dating
dating bad boy!Seungcheol is basically the same as being friends with him only needier
he opened up to you as a friend
but as a boyfriend
you’re seeing EVERYTHING
he’s lowkey touch-starved so he’s very….. handsy
his hands got cold once and he straight up put his hands up in your hoodie
You: “thErE ArE pEOpLE aRouND sIR”
Seungcheol: “head empty, hands Cold”
lots of movie dates
(you asked if you should put on Twilight again and he said he could only take it one decade at a time)
lots of dinner and takeout dates
(the amount of menus you two have collected is insane)
lots of game night dates
which include Seungcheol’s friends
you and Jeonghan still team up to cheat, leaving the you two in the top to fight for the winning spot but Minghao always calls you two out
and then you start openly cheating
(Jeonghan literally flipped over an operations board one time)
you’ve also seen his tattoos
there are cute small ones and then there are bigger ones of flowers and patterns
You: “does it hurt more if you color them in?”
Seungcheol: “no, I was supposed to get them filled but Rose likes to color them with her markers”
You: “why are you two so fucking adorable”
You: “can I color it in?” c:
he let you
it was so much fun
on some days with Rose, you both color together on a shirtless Seungcheol
speaking of which
she loves you
Rose: “I told you you liked the doctor”
You: ?
Seungcheol: “shhhh, finish your cupcake”
oooh, also—lots of motorcycle rides
during the night is when it’s the most beautiful with all of the city lights
sometimes you stop by a park and just hang out to talk
not often bc like midnight murderers are a thing, but sometimes
it’s always a nice impromptu date
also, it’s been long overdue but he took you to the doctor’s once and brought up the whole running over your toes thing
and your toes are fine but
he still highkey feels kind of guilty but the kisses you give him compensate for the guilt
so bad boy!Seungcheol isn’t really bad just misunderstood
but like…. are we complaining?

Blinding Lights (Ethan x F!MC)
Pairings: Ethan Ramsey x Victoria Clarke
Summary: A night out suddenly takes a terrifying turn
Word count: 2.5k
Warnings: slight angst, fluff (especially at the end)
A/N: I posted this on A03 about a month ago and have decided to put it on here as well.
Tumblr media
“One more round?”
“Definitely not Jackie, I can barely stand up.”
“Oh come on! Don’t tell me you’re going soft on me Lahela.”
“Okay fine one more, I’m just glad I’m not driving.”
“Yeah you left that to me and Sienna.” Rafael laughed.
“I’m a very safe driver. I passed first time.” Sienna shrugged.
“Nah the best drivers are those who pass third time.” Bryce said.
“Remind me to never get in a car with you.” Aurora looked at Bryce with concern.
“Sure thing Emery.” Bryce patted her on the shoulder.
Victoria and her roommates along with Bryce and Rafael were out for a few drinks at a restaurant across town. The night was slowly wrapping up and they’d be leaving soon, well, as soon as Jackie and Bryce had finished their last drink. Victoria had been staring at her phone for the past 10 minutes, texting Ethan who was at his apartment, waiting for her to come back.
Ethan: Am I going to have to help you through your hangover when you get home?
Victoria: Don’t worry I’m not too drunk. Although there is enough alcohol in me that hugs and kisses will definitely help sober me up.
Ethan: I’ll be waiting for you
Victoria smiled down at her phone. Her and Ethan had been dating for a few weeks and Victoria felt like she was living in a fairytale. She was the happiest she had ever been.
“Victoria are you coming?” Sienna’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
“Yeah, and I call shotgun.” Victoria said.
“No way.” Elijah laughed.
“Least drunk gets to sit in the front. And that would be me.” Victoria smirked.
“Just because you can handle your alcohol better than the rest of us.” Jackie stuck her tongue out.
Everyone laughed as they settled into the cars. Victoria put on her seatbelt and Sienna pulled the car out of the car park and onto the main road.
“So how are things between you and Doctor Ramsey?” Sienna asked as they waited at a traffic light.
“Sienna you can call him Ethan outside the hospital.” Jackie laughed.
“Yeah I’m sure he has a life outside Edenbrook, especially now he has Victoria in his life.” Elijah grinned.
“I’m just trying to stay professional.” Sienna shrugged.
“Oh trust me, he’s professional in some aspects.” Victoria winked.
“Okay that’s too much information.” Aurora shuddered.
“You know I didn’t mean intimate details.” Sienna laughed.
“I know you didn’t. Things are really good.” Victoria smiled.
“Do you think he’ll ask you to move in with him?” Jackie asked.
“I don’t know. We’re happy with our current living situations at the moment but who knows what the future holds.” Victoria replied shrugging.
“How many times are we gonna see him in our flat?” Elijah laughed.
“Knowing Victoria, loads.” Jackie laughed.
The traffic light turned green and Sienna pulled the car out further into the road. What she didn’t notice was a truck heading straight into their direction at a terrifying pace.
“LOOK OUT!”
A terrifying scream, the blinding lights from the car, the sound of metal hitting metal, the car being broken up into pieces, the tyres skidding along the road and suddenly, everything went black.

Edenbrook was unusually quiet at night. Night shifts usually filled with people who had sustained injuries whilst out at night. However, no traumas had come in and the evening was spent mainly filling out charts from previous patients. That was all about to change.
“We’ve got a double MVA rolling up.” One of the nurses shouted to the group of doctors and nurses around her.
“Okay prep the trauma rooms and make sure the OR’s are free.” Ines said, doctors and nurses hurried to complete the tasks as Ines and Zaid headed out to meet the ambulances, Harper joining them soon after.
“What have we got?”
“Double MVA rolling up.” Ines said.
“And here’s me thinking this Saturday night shift would be peaceful.” Harper sighed.
“This is why we should never jinx it.” Zaid said.
The ambulances rolled up and the doors flung open.
“Doctor Lahela?” Harper said stunned as she watched Bryce jump out of the ambulance alongside Rafael.
“We were in one of the restaurants across town, a car came out of nowhere and crashed right into Sienna’s car. Raf and I were in the car right behind them.” Bryce said.
“Doctor Trinh?” Zaid eyes grew wide as he looked at Sienna who was lying on the gurney, her face covered in blood.
“Getting… harder… to… breathe.” Sienna wheezed.
“She was crushed between the wreckage, we managed to get her out. Victoria, Jackie, Aurora and Elijah are all ok, just minor injuries. They were put into other ambulances.” Rafael explained.
Other doctors and interns wheeled Sienna into the hospital whilst the ambulances carrying Victoria, Jackie, Aurora and Elijah pulled into the bay.
“Are you guys alright?” Ines asked rushing to help the young doctors out of the ambulances.
“We’re fine, Victoria’s got glass in her leg but the rest of us just have minor injuries.” Jackie replied.
“Okay grab a wheelchair for Victoria.”
“No I’m ok, I can walk to the beds.” Victoria said wincing as a wave of pain washed through her.
“Doctor Clarke you’re a patient now not a doctor, let us help you.” Zaid said. Victoria felt now wasn’t the time to argue with the senior doctor so she did as she was told. She got settled into the bed as she got inside the hospital, her other friends taking the beds surrounding them.
“Is it just your leg?” Ines asked examine Victoria’s leg.
“Yeah.” Victoria replied looking towards the room where Sienna was being treated.
“I need a doctor here.” A paramedic yelled from the entrance.
“I’ll go, I’m not badly injured.” Aurora said getting up and heading over to the gurney. “Oh my god, it’s the guy who hit us.”
“What?” Elijah said, wheeling over to help Aurora treat the guy.
“Doctor Mirani, Sienna’s pressure’s dropping.” Danny ran out of the trauma room. Zaid rushed into the trauma room. Before any of the other doctors could look to see what was happening, one of the nurses pulled the blinds shut.
“Oh come on!” Jackie huffed.
“I’m gonna clean the wound and stitch it up. You’re going to be ok.” Ines turned to Victoria.
“Can I still walk on it?” Victoria asked.
“You should do but I advise plenty of rest. I think you know that.” Ines said. “Is there anyone you’d like me to call?”
Victoria hesitated for a moment. Even though everyone at the hospital knew they were an item, it didn’t stop them from gossiping about them behind their backs, despite the majority of it being positive. “Can you call Ethan?”
“Sure no problem.” Ines smiled. Jackie offered to make the call and so Ines got to work on Victoria’s leg. She cleaned the area and then delicately, removed the pieces of glass before stitching up the area. “You’ll be fine walking on it. Come by in three days to have the stitches removed and you’ll be as good as new!”
“Will it leave a scar?” Victoria asked.
“It might do but I wouldn’t worry about it, it’ll be minimal.”
“Can you check on Sienna? I want to know how she’s doing.”
“Sure, they might need my help anyway.” Ines retreated from the room and headed into the trauma room.
“What an evening huh.” Jackie said sitting back down on the bed.
“How did this even happen? Sienna didn’t jump through a red light.” Victoria sighed.
“No but the guy who hit us did. Rafael just told me he was seven times over the limit. He was travelling way faster than the limit.” Jackie said.
“Did he survive?”
“No, he was in v-fib and they couldn’t get him back.” Jackie replied.
“How are you doing?” Bryce and Rafael came and stood by Victoria’s bed.
“Just a couple of stitches, nothing too serious, do you know how Sienna is?”
“She’s stable but she’s going to need surgery. She said she couldn’t feel her legs.” Rafael said.
“Don’t worry I’m going to assist, we’re taking her up now, she’s in capable hands and she’ll be back on her feet in no time.” Bryce laid a comforting hand on Victoria’s shoulder before heading down the corridor to follow the doctors who were wheeling Sienna into the lift.
“Doctors would it be possible for you to answer a few questions for us?” A police detective walked over to them.
“Of course detective.” Victoria said sitting up.
“I’m guessing your Victoria Clarke and Jackie Varma?” The Detective looked at Jackie and Victoria.
“Yes that’s right.” Jackie replied.
“And you are?”
“I’m Rafael Aveiro. I was in the car behind them.”
“Ok Mr Aveiro can you describe what happened?”
“We’d all been out for a few drinks. Sienna and I decided we would drive home so we didn’t have anything to drink. At the end of the night we got into our cars and Sienna pulled out of the car park first, I followed shortly behind her. We were sat at a red light for a couple of minutes before Sienna pulled away and then all of a sudden, a car came out of nowhere and went straight into them.” Rafael explained.
“And Sienna is known as Doctor Trinh to your colleagues?”
“Yes that’s correct.”
“Ok that’s plenty of information. Several witness have also said similar things. I’ll need to speak to Doctor Trinh. Do you know where she is?”
“She’s having surgery at the minute.” Victoria replied.
“Ok, one of our officers will come by in a few days to see how she is. I have to say you were very lucky doctors, very lucky indeed.” The detective bid goodnight and left the hospital.
“Was that a detective?” Aurora and Elijah came over.
“Yeah he was just asking questions about what happened.” Rafael replied.
“Ok well Ines wants us to stay in hospital overnight just as a precaution and we can all be discharged tomorrow morning.” Aurora said.
“I’m staying in the on-call room tonight.” Rafael said.
“Rafael you should go home.” Victoria sighed.
“No I want to be here when Sienna wakes up.”
“If you say so.”
The nurses came in and wheeled Victoria to a private room and lead the others to their separate rooms. Victoria gazed out the window, the city lit bright by the building lights and the moon was shining down on them.
“Victoria?” A voice broke Victoria’s daydream. She turned around to see Ethan rushing into the room and pulling her into his arms. “Thank God you’re alright, I got here as fast as I could. What happened?” He said kissing her forehead.
“A car hit us. It was going really fast. Apparently the driver was drunk. He just came out of nowhere.” Victoria sighed in Ethan’s embrace.
“Were you badly hurt?”
“No just some glass in my leg, I’ll be fine. Sienna came off worst. She’s in surgery right now, she couldn’t move her legs. What if she-“
“No don’t think like that. She’ll be ok. Stay positive.” Ethan said pulling her in for a kiss.
“But none of this would’ve happened if we hadn’t stayed for one more drink. We would’ve avoided him.” Victoria said. She could feel her eyes stinging with tears.
“Hey, hey.” Ethan climbed onto the bed and wrapped his arms around her. He gently stroked her back. “You can’t dwell on what would’ve happened. That guy would’ve hit someone anyway. He shouldn’t have been over the limit and he sure as hell shouldn’t have been driving.”
“I guess you’re right.” Victoria laid her head on his shoulder.
“I’m always right. Now lie down. You need to get some sleep.” Ethan said preparing to get off the bed.
“Ethan?” Victoria lightly grabbed his hand. “Will you stay here tonight? I’d rather not be alone.”
Ethan took his shoes off swung his legs on the bed, he laid down next to Victoria wrapping his arms around he pulling her closer. He gave her a light kiss on the forehead and murmured into her hair.
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
— — — — — — — — — —
Dark grey clouds covered the Boston sky, threatening to spill rain. Victoria woke up and felt the space next to her, remembering where she was and who should be beside her. But there was no one there. As she sat up, the person she was looking for strolled into the room.
“Glad to see you awake. I brought you some breakfast and I’ve got your discharge paperwork. The others have already left.” Ethan smiled sitting on the bed.
“Is Sienna ok?” Victoria asked.
“She came out of surgery well and is in recovery. Bryce says there’s no evidence of paralysis so far.”
“That’s great.”
“Naveen says don’t worry about your shift tomorrow, he’s got it all covered. I’m free to take you home.”
"Does that mean you get to look after me?” Victoria grinned.
“For as long as you need.” Ethan grinned back.
Ethan wheeled Victoria out of her room and helped her get into his car. His hand not leaving hers once he drove to his apartment and got her settled on his couch before he made her a cup of coffee and joined her, wrapping a blanket around her.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working later tonight?” Victoria asked.
“I swapped shifts so I could be with you. Naveen didn’t mind.” Ethan replied.
“I bet he had the biggest grin on his face.” Victoria laughed a little.
“He did. You know he’s one for hospital gossip. He saw the two of us asleep last night. Now the whole hospital knows just how much Doctor Ramsey is in love with Doctor Clarke.”
Victoria sat up a little straighter. “Did you say love?”
Ethan froze. Whatever he meant to say was sure as hell not meant to come out like that. “Oh uh… I hope that wasn’t too sudden. But it may be the truth. I love you Victoria.” Before he could say anything else, Victoria pulled him closer and attached her lips to his.
“I love you too Ethan. Kinda thought it was obvious.” Victoria smirked.
“Well I’d hate to presume anything.” Ethan grinned.
“So you kept it to yourself? Smart.” Victoria smiled. “Now that we’ve confessed our love to each other I think we should do something to celebrate.”
“Oh really? And what exactly did you have in mind?” Ethan said lowering Victoria further onto the sofa, mindful of her leg.
“Well for starters it requires much less clothing.”
Ethan grinned. “What about your leg?”
“Are you going all Doctor on me outside the hospital? I’m not completely crippled. I’ve still got one good leg that can give you a good time. So what do you say?” Victoria whispered into his ear.
Ethan just grinned and pulled her in for a kiss. As he looked down at the woman he loved so much in his arms, he knew that there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her. Absolutely nothing.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed reading it! :) I don’t know why I’m so nervous to post this maybe because it’s my first time.

Ducktales Treasure of the Golden Sun: Three Ducks of the Condor or Now with More Racism!
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy people! And welcome back to my look at Ducktales: Treasure of the Golden Suns!, the pilot episodes that started it all. This look was one of my patreon stretch goals. To explain them in case some of you aren’t familiar with patreon it’s essentially like a kickstarter stretch goal: every milestone I reach in my monthly earnings means a crop of reviews for you guys, with this being 10 and my review of the movie, and the goofy movies in two weeks and September respectively, being the 15 dollar one. So if you want reviews of the OTHER Ducktales mini series Time Is Money and Super DuckTales, then hop on aboard and help me reach my 20 dollar goal so I can keep making these reviews for a living and give you all more. Said goal also includes a Darkwing Duck review eveyr month AND a review of teh Danny Phantom special The ULtimate Enemy so hop on board HERE AT MY PATREON.  Patrons also get exclusive reviews, access to my discord server (Though if anyone would be more intrersted in me making that public let me know), and to pick a short each time I do a birthday special for a character from Looney Tunes, Disney and Beyond. And next month is my boy Donald’s so since you all already sat out goofy NOW is the time.
So now my very necessary plug is out of the way, i’m very poor, we can get to the review proper:
When last we left off Scrooge and the Boys went on their first proper adventure together, heading to Central America to follow the map from the first episode and running into Dr.Claw  El Capitan and his new best buddy Glomgold. Mild racisim, moonsoons and much better pacing ensued.
So join me under the cut as my boy Donald returns, some iconic characters are introduced in Webby, Launchpad and Beakly, though this series only made one of them iconic to be fair, and we get some more mild racisim because fuck my life. Onward to the cut!
Tumblr media
So yeah as I’ve mentioned a few times now this episode had a content warning.. which was fair as there is some pretty cringy stuff in here but it had the side effect of me holding my breath until the racisim came up and whapped me in the face. So i’m keeping that tension up for you guys so I don’t have to suffer alone.
We open at the Mansion. Scrooge is trying to find a governess for the boys, but they keep scaring off all the clients because they don’t like the idea. And for once.. i’m on Scrooge’s side here. Yes I know there’s a sterotype of rich people hiring a nanny to not have to parent. and it’s sadly often true and it’d SEEM like Scrooge is doing that.. but really he just wants the boys to be safe. He’s fully grown to care for them and just wants someone cheap and responsible to look after them while he’s busy and clearly still makes time for them. As someone who is a former nanny, albeit for someone working class, I get that as much as you WANT to spend every moment with your kid you often can’t. I say all this because SO MANY kids movies and shows villianize parents for not spending time with their kid when their clearly just working to support them. There are nuanced exceptions to this and refreshingly Craig of the Creek has outright avoided this: JP’s mom is gone almost all the time due to working as an airline pilot, but while he clearly misses her he never resents her or guilts her over it, he understands sh’es supporting him and goes out of his way to make sure his friends can meet her. It’s really swee.t And while again I get it, this guys a billionare, most examples aren’t, Scrooge still really CAN’T stop working: He has more money than god and like most bilionares REALLY should give most of it to charity or to help with programs instead of hoarding it in a massive bin.. but he’s also got tons of companies, factories, investments... people COUNTING on him to make sure these are working correctly and keep their jobs. So yeah i’ts nice that the show isn’t demonizing scrooge for this or dosen’t even consider it: he’s getting help beacuse he needs it, that’s what’s important.
So while the boys widdle down the nannies, Scrooge talks to a renowned coin collector. He does show off his collection to the guy, but his main goal is naturally to show him the coin from last time. Turns out that naturally for a five part episode the treasure they lost last time was just a fraction of the real thing and the real titular treasure is a mythical horde even Scrooge, who normally has proved something out of myth is very real 5 times before breakfast, didn’t think existed.
Something I do love about this five parter is how every treasure hunt has ended up being important each piece of the puzzle leading to the next like any good treasure hunt. As for where this one leads the collector HAS heard of only one other coin like it, up in the Andes Mountains in a mysterious fortress whose mountain habitat and being a fortress makes it hard to get to and the owner is apparently a real piece of work.. but Scrooge isn’t afraid of a little hard work and is ready to go after it.. he just has to find a Nanny first.
And he does as there’s only one left: Mrs. Beakley, who we FINALLY meet after two episodes. Yeah for some weird reasont his episode choose to cram the rest of the major main and supporting cast into one episode.. it still works, they all still get great introductions it’s just weird to me when you have five episodes to not say introduce Launchpad last time.
But regardless as I said it’s a good intro.. despite the boys wilding a lasso and a snake.
Tumblr media
Beakly is unphased and even dosen’t remotely fall for them trying to say she got the wrong name. And while Scrooge is a little impressed, he’s even more when she states she’ll work for free... with one condition: Free room and board for her and her grandaughter, Webby, who has been there the whole time and looking cute as a button. Scrooge is unsure but one minute of Webby being adorable later and he’s agreed. She can’t eat much right? He also hopes she’ll help the boys not be douchebags, unaware that their inherent poorly written sexisim means that was never going to work. And why yes I will call it out eveyr time it happens because it happens every time they have an episode together and only gets worse.
He goes to Gyro for help and Classic Gyro.. is utterly delightful. While I clearly have issues with Classic Scrooge, whose a greedy poorly aged asshat and the boys, who are sterotypes of male children, Gyro? He’s nice, friendlya nd eccentric, using a delightfully wakcky pogo hat thing to think and takes only a mintue to figure out how to solve a seemingly unsolvable problem and only needs a few hours to build his cool looking bird ship, using bird legs to offset the hard to sort out landing conditions. But since it’s a fancy bitch, it needs a pilot and i’m sure we all know where this is going...but since Carol Danver sis busy he has to go with Launchpad.
Launchpad’s intro is great, cheerful as he does a job testing a plane and naturally crashes it, and when thought dead walks out seconds later unharmed and jolly as ever. Scrooge is naturally terrified of the prospect of flying with him but dosen’t really have another choice “I hope my insurance is paid up.” Scrooge it’s you.. of course it isn't.
So with that our hero bids a farewell to the boys and ends up unteitonally coming off MASSIVELY unlikeable. No really he leaves them behind for their saftey despite needing help... and then upon finding out Donald is going to be on leave soon in the andes, and just assumes that YOU KNOW, he’d LIKE to go on a dangerous exausting adventure instead of actually get some rest after working in the goddamn navy and STILL dosen’t take the kids along despite having a very tearjerking farewell IN FRONT OF HIM that happened at most a month ago. Granted i’m suprised Donald is getting leave this soon.. but since I genuinely like to look into this sort of thing and the last time I didn’t I was correctly reminded Gulliver’s Travels was a satire.. and found out someone HAD actually watched the Jack Black movie. I only vaugely remember a trailer.. I thinkn it was a trailer? Maybe it was the middle part of a juinor novelzation where htey have all the photos? I really don’t know. I know almost every pokemon on sight but not where I saw pictures of a forgetable jack black movie, what a shock.
So long story short I DID google it. Here’s what I got
Tumblr media
So given clealry more time has passed than we’ve seen on screen, enough time COULD have passed for Donald’s three day pass to kick in. So credit to the crew for actually thinking that out. They still get all the blame though for not only not seeing how bad not taking the kids to see the uncle whose like a father to them a month after he left when he CLEARLY can is bad, but how worse it is that the first break donald gets ina  month.. is spent helping scrooge against his will on a life or death treasure hunt.
And I get WHY they wanted to try out having Donald on an adventure: he was in most of the carl barks material.... but I also dont’ get it as Launchpad was deisgned entirely to fill in for Donald when needed, we’re only three episodes into the series and this gives the wrong impression Donald will guest star a lot more. In practice while he still did get a meaty 8 episodes on the show including this one, 2 of which were cameos and the pilot only dosne’t count because of the exnteded slapstick sequence, and dosen’t appear at all after season 1, likely because Fenton’s introduction made him reduntant as he was an even more blatant Donald stand-in. It just feels weird to shove him into the pilot movie when we should be focusing on our main cast, epsecially with so many getting intorduced this episode. It woudl’ve made more sense for Gyro to be the third man instead and it woud’ve elmaited Scrooge’s uttelry horrible actions here of depriving his nephews of their surrogate father.
Tumblr media
So Uncle Dickstick leaves with Launchpad to go abduct donald.... and tha’ts not me being funny, that’s what actually happens. Donald is singing out on leave.. with his superior... weirdly doing paper work outside on the flight deck.
Tumblr media
And is angry at Donald because of him taking pictures and stuff and threatens him if he’s not back exactly in time... because look he’s on a boat with a bunch of sweaty men but as the most superior officer he can’t enjoy that so he has to get off SOMEHOW and ruining donald’s life just happens ot be a thing for him.
So yeah Scrooge straight up naps Donald via claw and Donald is angry, wondering, as you’d expect “What’s the big idea”.. and once Scrooge clairfies he did it.. still asks that because what the fuck. And the episode treats this as comical, as it does Launchpad not understanding Donald.. and don’t get me wrong you CAN make a good “I can’t understand Donald Duck” joke, the 2017 series made PLENTY. But said series also spoiled me as they did it with far more effort, while also still showing just how much it would suck to have everyone around you struggle to hear what you say and never listen to you. They actually cared abotu Donald’s well being where as this one thinks “Gee you knwo what would go great iwth a hard month’s naval work? MORE WORK HELPING YOUR UNCLE GET RICHER FOR NO PERSONAL BENIFIT AFTER HE KIDNAPS YOU”.
So our heroes.. and scrooge, head to Andes and find the temple and it’s here “Sigh” we met our antagonist. A Conquestador Douche who DOES have a name and it is on the wiki.. but is so generic and unlikeble I’m just going to keep calling him conquestador douche, whose introduced waving his sun coin around while the natives all bow to him because of the coin.
Tumblr media
Welcome to the racisim! Admitely it’s not as bad as Treasure of the Lost Lamp, that’s a high bar to clear, but ti’s still not great to have the racist cliche of “character conquers a civilization because of they belivie he’s a messenger for their “silly” god”. And the saddest part is not that I didn’t notice this trope and how bad it was as a kid watching shows like this... but that as an ADULT about 4 years ago when I watched this episode how racist it and this trope in general was didn’t register to me at all. That.. really bothers me that it took me this long to pick up on things like this and i’m sorry for it.
That’s honestly WHY we need these warnings and WHY i’m so hard on this racisim: it wasn’t necessary, it could’ve been removed and you clearly just didn’t care or didn’t realize it was racist. And even acceptable for the time dosen’t work for anymore: I learned recently that the creators of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, both white, hired black writers..and actually LISTENED, looking to them for personal stories and to check them if one of the white staff wrote something that wasn’t true to the black experience. I know that sounds like the bare minimum but this was the early 90′s, that kind of thinking wasn’t hte norm like it is in most writer’s rooms now.. and sadly not ALL writer’s rooms. Not only that but just today I ran into a MST3K skit that lampooned this kind of bullshit from not long after this episode. People clearly knew better, the writers of this episode just didn’t’t care
So yeah, I get this was a kids show in the 80′s, I get the writing staff being almost all white.. but they still coudl’ve avoided cliche sterotypes and done something diffrent. It was was still wiithin white people like myselves power to actually think about something other htan themselves and we did not. So i’m never going to stop holding my own people accountable for just how BADLY we’ve fucked up in ways great and small because it still hasn’t stopped , likely never will so I won’t.
But yeah.... the tribe here are portrayed as ignorant, mindless dumbasses who blindly follow tradition and a clearly corrupt leader. It’s patronizingly stupid to assume just because a belief system is diffrent than yours a person will belieive anything. Religion CAN make people act stupid, the fact many people are homophobic simply because the bible, a centuries old document written and distrbuted by humans that could of been altered by people with a clear homophobic agenda, says they should be. But there’s the very clear very gross implication here that any god but the christian god is invalid and simplifies wonderful and well thought out myths and beliviefs from various cultures into “well they belivie in da sun god because of the shiny coin”. It’s gross, i’m glad it’s stopped and it’s VERY telling that the closest Ducktales 2017 came to this was the most dangerous game night which while a tad cringe inducing at least showed the tribe it used was clever, disposed the person they mistook for a god after it was clear he wasn’t one , and were wholly sympathetic.
Naturally Conquistadouche orders the tribe to attack Scrooge and it works briefly , though Scrogoe prepares to take on the ENTIRE villiage.. and given this is Scrooge and on this blog we’ve seen him take on an entire town before, and that was a more inexpericed less bastardly scrooge yeah their fucked, and only escape death because the coin falls out of scrooge’s coat when he tries to help donald who naturally injures himself trying to help.
And since as per white dumbass racist logic, the villiagers thought Conquistadipshit was a messenger of the gods because of his coin, they think the same of Scrooge, this causes them to stop and bow instead and protect scrooge when Conquistadumbass tries to attack our heroes. Their given a room for the night naturally.
Conquistadick demands they give him the coin and leave, but Scrooge has none of that: he has no reason to leave and has all the leverage so he instead demands to know wha’ts going on.
Turns out Conquisineart is the decdendant of one of the crew from the ship Scrooge found: their captain rain off with it, leaving two of his men behind, though both had the map to the rest of the treasure and split it: one left for the Arctic, the other stayed and did the whole racist god bit. And somehow despite all the time passing Conquistadoodoohead still has his half and Scrooge aranges a trade for the coin. And why yes their is the obvious problem of “what if Conquistascoobydoo say tells them he’s the true god and attacks scrooge like he ends up doing in the climax”. And Scrooge’s plan.. is to have the plane ready and to run to it, despite Launchpad not being a mechanic and saying as much. Instead of you know... stealing the guy’s coin while he’s asleep or something or just having launchpad, whose bigger and stronger and donald whose not bigger but is also stronger hold the guy while Scrooge steals his sun coin, then simply walks to the plane with the map, the coins and all the leverage. at worst the guy tries to do the same scheme without any coins and as the end of the episode shows, that wouldn’t have worked. He was stupid. Oh and the cherry on  top of this shit sundae is scrooge objects to the guys tyranical rule.. but is okay with letting it keep going if he gets his coin and DOnlad, whose there for the deal, never call shim on it.
We then get a bit of Launchpad being forced off a cliff to ride a giant Condor...
Tumblr media
Look this episode is filled with racisit sterotypes, a generic villian and Scrogoe being awful. I’ll take a fun sequence of Launchpad riding a condor, with Donald providing an assit with his camera  by blinding the beast so Launchpad can ride him properly giving them more leverage now Launchpad is popular. And a deadline to fix things by tommorow.
The next day Launchapd and Donald have defied logic and their own tendency to screw up and fixed the bird, while Scrooge makes the deal.. and naturally it goes EXACTLY how you’d expect and Scrooge runs, though our real heroes get thigns running.
That’s when the people arrive on condors to persue, a fight insues yoru standard hero stuff.. not bad but given the racist context I can’t really enjoy it like Launchpad flying a condor.. which had some mild racisim in them making him do that as a ritual clearly deisgned to kill him but i’llt ake mild over pretty damn obvious. Eventually douchebag looses his coins, his ctizens abndon him. Happy end.
So with the map Scrooge decides to do the logical thing.... have launchpad drop him in the middle of the ocean in a raft and steer there
Tumblr media
Launchpad takes Donald home in time and his superior is mad he dosen’t give him a proper salute.. even though he CLEARLY just got home and is diisorented from a crash. Launchpad makes a quip and this episode mercifully ends.
Final Thoughts:
This episode starts out okay.. but quickly goes downhill fast and steep. There are massive bits of racisim, massive leaps in logic, and massive amoutns of scrooge being a dick.. not his WORST in this series but it’s still bad. It’s just not very good. It’s the second worst episode of Ducktales i’ve seen, only held up by my boys Donald and Launchpad. This was miserable.
Next Time on Treasure of the Golden Suns: Our heroes head to the arctic for another offensive episode to rescue scrooge from his own stupidity.  Next Time on this Blog: We return to Green Eggs and Ham and hop on a train as our raging bitchcanoe mother and daughter duo meat our ambigiouslyg ay duo at last.
See you at the next rainbow.

The Perfect Trap
Tumblr media
OC x Antonio Dawson
Crossover Blue Bloods x Chicago PD
Words: 4,401
A/N: This is my very first crossover, please be nice :) This story follows the life of Maggie Reagan, twin sister of Jamie Reagan which makes her the youngest of the Reagan family. For context, here is the Reagan family tree. This story took place in New York, I might be writing another one that takes place in Chicago so we can focus on the CPD Intelligence Unit. Hope you like it!
---
"I have to say I don't like this one bit," Frank Reagan finally spoke. “Dad, we’ve talked about this,” said Danny.
“Yes and I gave it a go, but I just want to say again I don’t like this idea,” Frank gazed to his youngest.
“None of us like it any more than you do,” Maggie answered, all eyes were on her and her fiancee who sat next to her, clenching his jaw. He gave it a long pause, “We can still call it off,” his raspy voice sounded heavy and his remark raised many eyebrows, “Hey! Don’t do this to me brother,” Danny complained, pointing his fork to his soon-to-be brother in law. “Easy, Daniel,” said Henry at the end of the table, trying to calm his eldest grandson.
Maggie Reagan is the youngest of the Reagan family. She followed her family legacy, entering the police academy around the same time as her twin Jamie, but she moved to Chicago wanting a clean slate without the burden of her last name in New York. On the job for eight years, now she’s working as a junior detective in Narcotics. Maggie met Antonio Dawson on a joint operation with the Intelligence Unit two years ago and started dating not long after. Much to her surprise, Antonio quickly grew very close to her family including his hot-headed brother, Danny. Apparently being a hard willed yet by-the-book cop was the ticket to be loved by the entire Reagan family. A big reason why it was rather easy to get all of their blessings to put a ring on Maggie’s finger six month prior to this dinner.
So, the commotion at the Sunday dinner table isn’t about their wedding at all. Danny, who had been picking Antonio’s brain for a lot of his cases, finally caught a big one. Danny’s case this time has become an official police matter between CPD and NYPD, both wanting to keep feds out of it. Teo Rodriguez, who ran a drug ring five years ago in Chicago has resurfaced in New York. Back then, Teo managed to avoid any conviction thanks to the loyalty of his crew  in Chicago. None of them gave Teo up and no crime that he pulled had hard evidence against him. Though he remains free in Chicago, CPD made sure that his operation was crippled and that Teo cannot do business in Chicago again. Not long after a major operation to convict all of his crews, Teo skipped town and fell off the CPD radar.
A couple of months prior, Danny caught execution-style homicides in Harlem with markings over the victims. It’s obvious that this is gang-related killings, but he never saw these markings before. He had been banging his heads as that was already a third homicide, the killer had definitely been playing with him but he was no close in identifying him. Not until he shared it with Antonio who filled him with useful information. With Antonio and CPD’s aid, Danny came close to locating Teo, but he ran with the same old problem: without hard evidence, they didn’t have enough to convict him.
They’re back to square one. And so, Antonio and Danny came up with an idea - a risky one. Setting up a trap. Knowing Teo, everything is an eye for an eye. Five years ago, when Antonio arrested Teo’s second-in-command, Pedro, CPD held his 10-year-old son and threatened him to give the kid up to social service and never to see him again if Pedro didn’t give himself up. Pedro finally came to the precinct and had himself arrested. However not 24 hours later, Diego, Antonio’s son went missing. He was finally found unharmed, but they could never connect Diego's abduction to Teo.
The idea was to provoke Teo by revealing Antonio and have him arrest Teo’s sister who lives in New York. They hoped that if Teo took the bait and made the connection, his next move would be taking Maggie into hostage. Being Danny’s sister and Antonio’s girlfriend, Maggie is the perfect trap. They would then set up surveillance and wiretap on Teo, so they could finally catch him red-handed. This is of course an operation with a lot of ifs. And a huge risk for Maggie. Antonio had second-doubting his idea at least a hundred times but Danny convinced him to go with it. With Frank’s blessing, the operation was a go. It’s a risky idea, but a necessary one.
On the dining table, Antonio shook his head looking at Maggie, “Sorry. I know this is my idea and everything, but...,” “Hey, it’s our idea,” Danny corrected. “Yeah Danny, that’s why we all don’t like the idea,” said Jamie, which earned a chuckle from everyone. Danny scoffed, he really likes his future in-law, but doesn't like the detective popularity contest at the dining table.
“It’s the only way out if we want to get this scumbag,” said Maggie. Frank let out a sigh, “Do what you got to do. But please, be safe,” Frank shot a look at Antonio and Danny. “In case you forget, we are the three finest detectives in the country, Dad,” Danny replied with a smile while Antonio kept clenching his jaw, wondering just how things can go.
---
A few days later, they started the operation. “Teo Rodriguez!” Danny shouted, he rounded the street near Teo’s apartment, catching him just after he exited the building. “Oh if it isn’t my favorite Detective,” Teo replied with a smug, “What is it? If you have another conspiracy theory, I’m not interested. Already said I have nothing to do with your homicides,” he tried to walk off but Danny stopped him. “It’s not that, I thought you wanted to see something. Come with me,” Teo didn’t comply at first but he finally gave up when Danny revealed her sister’s name.
Danny took Teo to central booking, across the hall, behind the bars - a sight was presented to Teo: Antonio was holding his sister, Ella, cuffed and ready to be processed. From afar, they watched the scene, “I believe that’s your sister? But who’s that next to her? Do you remember him?” Danny asked. “Ella! No, you can’t do this!” he screamed. Ella only turned her heavy head and gave Teo a disappointed look before disappearing to the next room.
After processing Ella, Antonio approached Teo, “Teo Rodriguez, remember me?” Antonio asked.
“Not really. But I do remember Diego,” Teo replied with a smug.
It pained Antonio but he kept his cool, “Well, perhaps Ella facing a 5-year charge will jog your memory. You thought after leaving Chicago, you can start all over again because no one knows you. But we know. It took NYPD a while but now that they’re working with me, we all know well that you like to keep business close to the family. I tracked down Ella long before you did. That mom of yours really does like sleeping around…” Antonio continued.
But Teo laughed hysterically instead, “Oh you like playing games now, Detective Dawson?! Let’s see who’s the better player.”
“So you do remember him,” Danny said, “Reagan and Dawson..let me guess, extended family? If you have a cop family here in New York I’m gonna find out. Remember Detective, this ain’t Chicago.” Teo pointed his finger at Antonio and left.
“Remind me, how did you know about Ella again?” Danny asked when they got to the car.
“After the investigation, we realised that none of them snitch on Teo not because they’re scared, but because they think of him as family. We dug into his childhood and found out that he actually has a lot of step siblings. One way or another his crew has blood ties,” Antonio explained.
“So when he moved to New York, he only had few contacts. Since his mom has children everywhere, he always has family,” Danny continued. “Long story short. Let’s just hope he took our bait,” Antonio replied.
----
“Is this really necessary?” Maggie whined. “Come on Mags, you need to be seen in the city, reuniting with old friends, having fun.” said Jamie while handing over her dress.
“It’s 4pm in the afternoon,” said Maggie. “And you are known to be an early drinker, since when you’re complaining about drinking?” Jamie asked. “Since knowing my fiancee and my brother is taking down a very dangerous criminal,” she answered while getting ready.
“Let’s paint the town red and hope that Teo is indeed as smart as Antonio predicted,” Jamie smiled. He called up a couple of his most trusted cops, pretending to be Maggie’s old friends. Four of them were heading to a corner bar in East Village.
Detective Baez, Danny’s partner, had been tracking down Teo’s movement with an unmarked car. She’s sitting outside of Teo’s apartment in her car while their team has been listening in to phone calls and text messages from Teo. Nothing suspicious of yet, but close to 7pm, Teo texted his accomplice to meet him somewhere in East Village.  Baez stayed put and ordered Danny to stand by on Maggie.
At around 7pm, Jamie, Maggie, and their friends had been spending time at the corner bar. They haven’t seen anything out of the ordinary. Until three suspicious looking men sat down next to their table, exchanging looks, but no sign of Teo yet. Down the road, Danny and Antonio parked two blocks away, with a TAC team parked further down.
It’s been half an hour and no sign of Teo, nor that the group of men does anything. Is it a false alarm? Jamie and Maggie sense that something is wrong but they can’t figure it out yet.
“Something feels off. If those are Teo’s guys, why don’t they make a move? Should I go to the back alone to lure them?” Maggie asked. “No, Maggie. Too risky.” said Jamie.
“Yeah but if you’re around Jamie, they won’t make the move. I’m good with Sandra and Alex here,” asked Maggie. Jamie looked hesitant but eventually yielded, “You keep her safe, okay?” Alex nodded and gave him a reassurance squeeze in the shoulder, “We got this, Reagan,” said Alex.
Jamie went out the bar and joined Danny and Antonio in their car. Another half an hour, still no sign of Teo and no chatter on his phone, Antonio also started to be uneasy.
“I think you two should join Baez, I don’t think he’s coming here,” said Antonio to Danny and Jamie.
“Leaving you alone with our sister? No,” Danny quickly rejected.
“Come on. I’ve got the cavalry here with me,” Antonio pleaded. “I feel more safe if you have eyes on Teo is all.”
Danny yielded, went out of the car and took Jamie’s car heading to Teo’s place, “You spotted him yet, Baez?” he called Baez. “No. No movement from his apartment since he’s back from the bodega an hour ago,” Danny and Jamie looked at each other and looked for the bodega.
“What is he wearing?” Danny asked. “Grey hoodie, black jeans, and white shoes,” said Baez over the phone. “Shit,” Danny muttered. “What is it?” asked Baez. “I’m at the Bodega looking at the security footage. Looks like he paid someone to wear his clothes and went back to his apartment.”
“Well his phone is still at home, so is his car,” Baez reported. “He must know we’ve been sitting on him,” Danny shook his head.
Jamie filled Antonio with the new development, “Shit. We got played.” Antonio cursed himself, he can’t believe all their plan had been crushed. Teo is a man of his words, Antonio is absolutely certain that he’ll take revenge but where is he now? He wrecked his brain and recalled his last conversation with Teo, that’s when he realized his mistake, “Jamie!!” Antonio screamed on the phone Danny swore he could see waves coming out of Jamie’s phone.
“It’s not Maggie….it’s Erin. My extended family. Go find her, I’ll join you.” Antonio’s voice was shaking in panic, he’s about to shift the car gear when he heard a gunshot coming from the corner bar where Maggie was. “Damn it!” he ran out along with the TAC team to the bar.
Danny and Jamie could not hear anything more from Antonio, the line got disconnected after the gunshot, but they decided to trust the man and make a run for Erin.
Danny was on edge while Jamie drove as fast as he could, “Danny, there’s a thing between us twins. I have a feeling that she’s okay.” said Jamie. “Okay if that you trying to calm me down, I’ll take it. I wish you can say the same for Erin,” Danny was beyond angry at himself. This operation was under his watch, and so far nothing according to his plan.
Danny kept calling Erin but no answer. Baez pinged her phone and put her in a three-mile radius around her apartment. “Please Erin, please be home,” Danny mumbled. The ride was only 15 minutes but it felt like forever for the Reagan boys. Erin’s car was parked in front of her apartment building, but when they got in, she’s not home.
Meanwhile, the situation at the bar wasn’t pretty either. The TAC team surrounded the bar, already securing civilians. Antonio could not believe what he’s seeing, it was like seeing a scene from a movie: gun standoff between the three men versus Alex and Sandra, with Maggie held on a chokehold, gun on her temple. Antonio quickly made his way in, which gained a strong protest from the perp that held Maggie, “Don’t move! Or I’ll kill her!" he yelled. Antonio took the risk coming in, but he’s fairly certain that Teo didn’t order his guys to kill Maggie.
Antonio rose his hands up, “If you don’t know already, you’re holding hostage a Chicago Police Detective. And I guess you didn’t expect the two friends here are also cops,” he pointed at Alex and Sandra.
“Now, I am from Chicago too so I wanna make sure that I bring her safely home. I know Teo sent you. And you’ve failed already because the task was to kidnap her, right? Why don’t we make this quick man-” Antonio kept talking to shake them off. “Shut up!! Or I’ll kill her!” the perp became more and more nervous. Maggie exchanged looks with Antonio, trying to understand his play. Antonio looked at her, Maggie looked calm, she trusted Antonio could get her out of the situation.
“I know it’s not the deal. The order was not to kill anyone,” Antonio tried to win them over.
“You don’t know anything,” the one holding Maggie pulled his trigger, the two others looked utterly confused and panicked. As the prep adjusted his arm position, Maggie elbowed him hard on his stomach, pushed his arm up and duck down. His shots were fired but went to the ceiling. Antonio tackled him as Maggie crawled to the side. Antonio pulled his gun on him, “Don’t you even think about it,” and the perp dropped his gun.
The two other men were taken aback wanting to shoot back, but Alex and Sandra shot their legs first and lunged at them. They were apprehended quickly and taken outside.
Antonio asked to deal with the one holding Maggie earlier. He was cuffed now so Antonio threw him on the table pressing him hard with his body. Maggie watched in disbelief from the side with the other officers. She had seen Antonio in action a few times before, but never quite like this.
“Where is Teo?!” Antoino screamed pinning him to the table, “I don’t know man-” the perp laughed.
“You want to laugh now?” Antonio pulled his gun and placed it on the back of the perp’s knee, “Well, you should know, in Chicago, we play things differently. There’s no need to be politically correct. Now where does he say he wants to stake out Erin?”
Maggie just put two and two together now, Teo has levelled up his revenge game, he went after Danny’s two sisters. Not caring about all the eyes, Antonio put his hand around his neck now and pressed his gun more, “I’m not playing here-” the perp was shaking and finally gave in, “I don’t know the name of the place, Blue something… a diner near her apartment. Now let me go!!” he screamed and coughed. Antonio threw him to the ground and motioned the other officers to take him. He knew that he would get in trouble later coercing a perp like that, but he couldn't care less.
He quickly called Danny, giving him Teo’s location and possibly Erin’s. After that, he turned to Maggie, who was still processing the situation, “Babe, you okay?” he reached out to hold her hands, she nodded but suddenly gave Antonio a tight hug. “Hey, you’re okay, I’m here,” Antonio tried to calm her down. She was on the verge of tears when Antonio pulled her away, he cupped her face with his hands, “I love you Maggie and will always protect you.” he paused and continued, “I hate to do this, but unless you can pull yourself to be Detective Reagan now, I suggest you get check out on an ambo because I still have to save your sister..” he said it calmly but not leaving the sense of urgency. Maggie bit her lip, realizing that her day was far from over and that her fiancee is still a cop on a job. So she took her deepest breath, “Let’s go, Detective Dawson,” she gave his hand one last tight squeeze before quickly making her way inside his car. Antonio nodded, still worried but he knows Maggie can do this. She was a cop before she was his girlfriend afterall.
Danny and Jamie ran across the street together with Baez who had joined them. They didn’t notify anyone yet as they don’t want to spook out Teo and put Erin in more danger. The Blue Whale diner was a bit more crowded than usual. Danny came in and asked Erin to the front counter. They confirmed she’s in the back, when he showed Teo’s picture the barista nodded and a few seconds later they heard a commotion from the back. People started screaming and ran out. Teo has found Erin.
“Jamie! Baez! Secure everyone!” Danny yelled. Turned out that Teo didn’t expect that Erin would recognize him right away - she immediately reached for her phone to call 911 when she saw him. And when he realized this, he quickly drew his weapon out, taking Erin before she could press dial.
Danny went to the back of the restaurant while Jamie and Baez were still out front making sure everyone’s out. Seeing Danny, Teo held Erin tighter and put his gun on her side.
“You Reagans. Think you’re so smart,” Teo smirked.
Danny drew his weapon to Teo, “It’s over Teo. You didn’t get Maggie either,” said Danny. “Oh yeah? So, I have more reason to kill this one then,” he grinned. Danny’s stomach was twisted. He could make the shot but Teo’s too close to Erin.
The standoff felt like forever. Danny tried to talk their way out of the situation. What took Baez and Jamie so long? He didn’t have back up. So he could only stall and talk nonsense to Teo about making a deal to get him out of jail.
Just when Danny was about to run out of options, Antonio came through the back door with Maggie, both weapons drawn to Teo, “It’s over Teo, you’re surrounded. You put the gun down real slow, or we take you out,” Antonio said calmly. Teo looked at Antonio, "You think you finally won, Detective Dawson?" His grip on Erin became tighter "Oh if I had known earlier that the famous Reagan family had ties to you…" He shifted his aim, his weapon pointed at Maggie this time.
"Teo, if you want to walk out alive…your only way out is me. My brother and Detective Dawson here won't think twice about shooting you," said Maggie. “Detective Dawson? You think I did not know you’re his girlfriend?!” Teo shouted.
She looked straight to Teo but her gaze was to Danny's. She gave Danny a slight nod, “I know you know now. Teo, now please…” Maggie begged, throwing her arms up like she was about to surrender, “Please, don’t hurt…” before she could finish her sentence, Danny fired a bullet to Teo's shoulder that was holding the gun.
Teo's gun went off but his aim was horrible, Maggie dodged his bullet and in a split second, she ducked and pulled Erin who was already on the ground towards her. Teo now on the ground, with Danny on top of him cuffing him. He grunted, Antonio kept his gun pointed at Teo and put it on Teo’s temple. "Tony, don’t. He's not worth it." Danny looked at him. Antonio's eyes were filled with anger, "I'm gonna make sure you're going to the death chair, and you’ll wait for that agonizing day in misery," Antonio hissed when getting him up. Teo still didn't look defeated, Danny shoved him and let Baez take him to the station.
Maggie held onto Erin as tight as she could. Today was horrifying. "Erin...are you okay?" Erin hugged his sister tighter, "I am now, thanks to you," to that, Maggie suddenly sobbed at Erin's shoulder. Looked like she had it worse than Erin. Erin looked confused, she never saw Maggie cry this way. Not even after the incident that made her move to Chicago 9 years ago. She held her, looking to Danny and Antonio for explanation. They may not be the closest siblings but Erin loves her siblings equally don't matter what. Antonio looked at Erin with an apologetic look, feeling responsible that he didn’t force Maggie to sit out after the bar shoot out.
Antonio approached her, "Hey Maggie, your arm is bleeding. Let's get you check out, the ambo's here," a bullet must've grazed Maggie’s arm during the first shootout. Maggie didn’t move an inch, still hugging her sister tight. He rubbed her back, closing in to her ear, "Come on, let Erin go. She's okay and you can go see her after. Okay? Danny will take care of her,” Maggie pulled away and looked her sister in the eye, "Erin I'm sorry…" still sniffing. "Hey, none of this is your fault, Maggie. And look, your sleeve is dripping with blood, go with Antonio," Erin reassured. Antonio pulled Maggie close to his side and walked out holding her.
After Maggie left it’s Erin now who could not take it anymore, "Oh Danny, that was too close to comfort," she buried her head against Danny’s chest. He put his arm around her, "I’m so sorry sis. It's over now, it's a good thing that we rehearsed that move over and over again," said Danny comforting her, "One hell of a day," he muttered.
--
Outside, Maggie was still shaking while getting patched up. Antonio held her hand the entire time, "I'm so sorry," was all Antonio could say to her. He knew his fiancee was hurting more in her heart than physically. But he did not know what to say, his head was still full with anger, heart pumping, adrenaline still hadn't washed out. He saw Jamie and motioned him to come over to the ambulance.
“Hey Mags, you okay?” Jamie asked. “Um.. yeah no,” Maggie started sobbing. Antonio pulled her into a hug, his brows curled and his face spoke a thousand words to Jamie. “It’s over, okay? It’s just adrenaline wearing off,” he realized that Maggie was still shaking. “You did good, babe. You did good.” he whispered to her ears.
Maggie pulled away, seemingly calmed down, she looked at Jamie, “I uh… I put Erin in danger, I got the whole cavalry looking after me and not one on Erin’s side…” tears streaming again. Antonio sighed, looking at Jamie for help, this is going to take long to recover from.
“We can’t go to that rabbit hole Mags, you know that. If you keep doing this then Danny would probably beat himself up, he brought everyone into this,” Jamie tried to reason.
“Or me- I should’ve forced you to stay after the bar,” Antonio’s words are shaky now, he’s also on the verge of tears, seeing Maggie like this, not his best forte.
Thankfully one of the officers came to break the moment before Antonio shed any tears, “Detective Dawson? The commissioner is on the line,” Antonio realized he had left his phone in the car and hadn't given an update to Frank yet. He nodded at the officer and turned to Maggie, “I’ve got a lot of explaining to do to the NYPD. You sit tight here with Jamie, okay?” Maggie nodded as he left.
“How can you all be so strong?” she asked Jamie. “We’re not Mags. We just pretended to be, so the others can be,” Jamie took his twin sister’s hand. “If you can’t do it for us, do it for Antonio. He’s the one that got it the hardest. Danny is a close second though and that’s just because he’s a Reagan. But marrying a PC daughter and getting in the middle of this mess? Fiancee of the year that he is,” Jamie chuckled, tried to lighten up the mood.
Now that Maggie can put things into perspective she put on a brave face, “I’ll start pretending now,” she smiled at him. “Yeah, you can be all sappy and sad when we’re alone at my place?” he offered. “With a bucket of ice cream and a superhero movie?” Maggie asked. “Yeah, can you give Antonio something to do tonight? Eddie’s got the night shift so we can have the night for the two of us.” he said.
“Oh, I won’t have him tonight. After today, I bet Danny would be drinking his night away with him…”
“So, it’s officially our night then,” Jamie hugged his twin sister.

Author’s note: A special thanks to my friends, Fir and Taylor, who helped me edit and proofread this chapter! Thank you so much.
It is an early Friday evening, and you are sitting in a cafe with your friend. Outside the large window to your left, the wind is blowing brown and orange leaves off of trees. While it’s cold out there, inside you are warm, drinking an overpriced latte and nibbling on a turkey club sandwich.
“So what do you say?” asks your friend, Charlie. She's a quirky looking girl, your age, with big round glasses and short curly hair framing a small face.
“Hm?”  You snap out of your musings and turn to look at her. “What?”
“What are you doing on Halloween next Saturday?” she asks. “going to a frat party?” Her mouth curls into a grin.
“Don’t make me laugh,” you say as you roll your eyes. “I haven’t planned anything.” If you were being honest, you’d planned to hide in your room with your dog and re-read Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein.
“Well that works out, I was thinking of having Danny and Margot to our apartment for a movie night.”
You think about it. “What will we watch?”
“Old gothic horror movies? I was thinking maybe 1931’s Vampyr, Nosferatu, and Frankenstein. Ya know,” she says through a bite of her chicken caesar salad. “The works!”
“Sounds like fun,” you smile as you watch her cheeks puff out as she tries to chew.
“Yep! Anyway, whatcha got on tonight? Do you have a shift at the library?” Charlie glances over the rim of her glass for your answer.
“No, Class. Philosophy 310 with Professeur Montgomery. I'll be home late, so if you could take Hypatia out for her walk, I’d appreciate it.”
“Ya, sure. Oh, did I show you where she was when I left today?” Charlie asks excitedly, already pulling out her cellphone.
How do you kill an Immortal?
The short answer is you can’t, right?
The long answer is that you must look at death
in a new light.
The large lecture hall was pretty full for a 7 pm lecture. The seats were filled with 3rd years, all waiting for the professor to start. Students groan and rub their eyes, cursing their luck for being stuck with a 2-hour lecture this late into the evening. It’s Autumn and the sun has already begun sinking under the horizon. Everyone complains to their neighbours.
You, of course, were one of these students. You are a 21-year-old philosophy major. The class you’re attending is Contemporary Metaphysics, the study of the fundamental categories of being.
You shuffle in your seat. It’s small and you feel cramped. You put your coat on the back of your chair and place your backpack on the ground. You grab the travel mug from the bag and lift it to your lips. I hope this gets me through tonight.
As the clock hits the top of the hour, the door to the lecture hall opens. In walks an odd little man. He’s wearing a pair of old jeans and a fuzzy flannel shirt. His beard is curly and unkempt, and wire-framed glasses are perched on his nose. He scurries across the room to his desk in the center-front of the large room.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Please leave your textbooks in your bag for the moment. We won’t be needing them right away,” he says, as he hurries to turn on the projector and connect his laptop. The white screen lights up and displays a PowerPoint presentation. The title of the first slide was a question, “How Do We Define Death?”
“For the first half of this semester, we’ve talked extensively about life.” He starts. “We’ve explored the meaning of life, the definition of a ‘good life’, and how to live it, but in order to really study our lives and understand it, we must explore the philosophy of death.”
Professor Montgomery walks in front of his desk and jumps up onto the top. “So what does it mean? How do we define being ‘dead’?” He looks at the class. A hand in the front row raises tentatively. “Yes! Michael.”
“Well, medically speaking, it’s when a person’s heart stops and they stop breathing.” Michael offers.
The professor seems to mull over his student’s statement for a moment, pulling his legs up onto the desk with him and swaying in thought.
“What about patients with no brain function?” Montgomery challenges. “They could still be breathing. They still have a heartbeat, but any doctor would call them dead. They’d never wake up.” His tone is clever and he gives a small smile towards his audience.
“It’s terribly interesting, don’t you think?” he continues. “Even something so finite as death, no one is able to define it. Maybe it’s because humans know that you can feel like you’re dying while your lungs fill with air.”
When I go into that ground
I won't go quietly, I'm bringin’ my crown
When I go into that ground
Oh, they gotta bury me,
bury me face down
“Ahhh!” a voice screams. The sound, along with crashing furniture, echoes through the library. The couch has been thrown to the side and a bookshelf has been torn from the wall and lays in pieces on the floor.
Gilbert huffs, his red eyes burning as he surveys the wreckage. A book has fallen open in front of his feet, but Gilbert doesn’t bother to read it. The words will disappear as soon as he tries. Instead, he pulls his leg back and kicks it, sending it flying into the fireplace, before letting out another angry cry.
Gilbert crouches down where he stands, pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes. He draws a deep breath.
“Focus,” he mutters. “Just focus. Breath.” He sucks air in through his nose, feels his lungs stretch. His only proof, or so he hopes, that he might be alive.
“I’m gonna get out of here. I swear to the ancients, I’ll get out of here,” he whispers to no one.
Around him, everything is restored back to its original form. The small couch is returned to the side of the mantle where it belongs. The books are all neatly stacked on the pristine oak bookshelf. He needs to compose himself before he loses his mind.
(Gilbert remembers when he was free, though now he doesn't know how long it's been. He remembers feeling unstoppable. On top of the world. And his brother had warned him.)
“Come on,” he chants over and over. He takes in a deep breath and focuses. He feels the spark left inside him.  He lets out a breath, and on it is a puff of magic.
It’s all the magic he has left.
It floats off, seeping into the walls of his prison. Gilbert feels the spell that formed this prison. In his mind's eye, he sees the runes, the spellwork woven from magic. Through the layers of instructions and charms, Gilbert feels the smallest gap in this magically gilded cage. He prods at it. It’s not big enough, but he’s so close! He tries again, pushing at it again and again until finally, his magic cracks it open.
Gilbert smirks, all sharp, white teeth and as a sliver of his consciousness slips out into the mortal world, Gilbert feels his first taste of freedom.
“Go,” he whispers. “Find them.”
‘Cause I’m gonna be free
and I’m gonna be fine,
But maybe not tonight
A chill runs up your spine, causing you to shake in your seat. You pull your coat from behind you and drape it over your lap. You have no clue why it’s so cold here today.
You pay out the nose for tuition and the college feels the need to be stingy with the heating. It’s autumn, for crying out loud.
“...and that’s why it’s so interesting to see the way death affects the culture’s ideas about legacy. Our fear of death, of being forgotten, fuels our desire to leave a mark on the living world.” Ah, you think. He’s rambling.
“And because we’re getting ready for midterms, I have a project for you. I want you to write an essay on a real-life person and their relationship with death and legacy. Do they embrace the end of their existence, or do they run from it? Are they driven by the need to be remembered? This can be about anyone, famous or not and I would like it to be 1500 words.”
You scribble this information down in your notebook and by the time you look back up, the class is officially over. Everyone begins to gather their stuff and leave.
“It will be due next week, the Friday before Halloween! Submit it online!” The professor calls out.
You trot down the steps and make your way to the exit. You think about your plans for the next week.
My schedule is pretty packed. I work tomorrow and Sunday. I might not be able to get it done, you think as you push open the doors.
You work at the university’s library part-time. Most people find libraries boring, but you find that the worlds inside books are far more interesting than real life. It ended up being a good fit for you. The hours were good, you were paid well, and it kept a roof over your head.
You step out of the auditorium and into the crowded hallway. You squeeze through the mobs of people, squeaking out ‘excuse me’s and ‘pardon me’s as you try not to bump into people. After you manage to scurry away, it’s only a quick walk down the hall until you’re out of the building. The autumn air was frigid and the leaves crunch under your boots as you walk by the campus library.
Why don’t you just get a book now and work on it tonight, then you’ll have already started it before the weekend is over?
You don’t have much time, the library is about to close. You’d need to hurry. You make your decision and switch paths. You run up the cement steps and slip through the heavy door, just in time to see the librarian at the front desk beginning to pack up.
“Oh, no! Absolutely not! We’re closed, (name)!”
“Please, Marge! I just need one book in the biography section. I’ll be quick, I promise!” you beg.
Your middle-aged co-worker looks at you long and hard. You cross your fingers behind your back.
“You have two minutes.”
“Yes! Oh, thanks a bunch!! I promise I’ll be quick!” You cheer as you race around her and sprint for the non-fiction side of the library.
You turn down an aisle and skid to a stop. You should have decided what book you were going to get before you got here, you think. You scan around you. There are shelves stuffed with them, but none stand out.
“Thirty seconds or I’m locking you in here for the night!” Marge yells from the lobby.
You see a thick brown book at eye level. That’s weird. Could have sworn it wasn’t there two seconds ago.
“Twenty seconds!”
Oh, fuck it.  You grab it and run back to the lobby.
“Just take it and go, you can check it out yourself on your shift tomorrow morning,” Marge says waving you from the checkout counter.
‘Thanks, Marge. I’ll see you in the morning. Have a nice night!” You call to her as you bustle out the front door.
“Wait, (name)!” You turn back around.
“Don’t you want a ride? It’s dark out.” She’s right. The autumn sun sets early and the campus is deserted.
“You’re going in the opposite way of my apartment. I don’t want to inconvenience you.”
“Sure you sure, hun? I don’t mind.” She says to you as she reaches you at the front door.
You still refuse. “I’m positive, Marge. I’ll be fine.”
“Well, be careful. I’ll see you around.”
You wave goodbye and trot down the stone steps to the sidewalk, leaving behind the librarian shaking her head.
Your mind wanders as you walk. You reach into the bag at your side and feel for the book you chose. Your fingers find the leather spine and you pull it out.  Hopefully, you picked a good book. you’d hate to have to re-pick one. You trace the edges of the colour and study the book. It is clearly old, the cracks of the leather on the spine and cover indicate it’s been well-loved. You open it to a random page and are puzzled. It’s not a printed book. Its pages are filled with handwritten passages. The cursive is beautiful, with long, elegant letters.
“I’m at the lake today with Francis and Antonio. We’re taking a short break before we head west. It’s a surprisingly nice day. The sky is clear and there’s a soft breeze. I’m almost tempted to build my castle here.”
It’s a diary. An old one. How did a diary end up in a university library? Especially if it's not a published work. If anything, it seems like it was just placed on the shelf and forgotten about. You think about the book as you trace your fingers across the script. As you turn the page, your finger cuts itself on the edge of the page. You pull your hand away to look at your cut and as you do, a drop of blood falls from your wound onto the page below.
“Oh shit,” you say, stumbling in your steps. You try to wipe the spot from the page, but it only smeared it more. You decide to close the book, clutching it tightly to your side and you continue to make your way home.
Your apartment is located on the other side of Forest View Park, which as the name suggests, goes through a wooded area. It was kept as a green space for the university after multiple failed attempts to tear it down. Something about the machines always breaking down, or contractors quitting before they started. It was probably for the best. It was a lovely park to walk in during the day, especially this time of year. The trees are covered with yellow, orange, and brown leaves. The sun would stream through them, covering the park in gorgeous, warm light.
But this place looks much different at night.  The moon is bright in the sky, casting shadows on the pathway. Fog swirls around the bases of the trees, pushed by cold gusts of wind. You shiver, pulling your arms into yourself and nuzzling your face into your scarf to try and stay warm as you step onto the leaf-covered pathway. The trail is lit with lamp posts that stretch their way further down. You hear the fall leaves crunch under your boots as you look around you. You feel an imaginary pressure on you, like you're being watched, and try to push it aside.
You have to keep walking. You hug your wool coat closer to yourself and pick up your pace. You’re further in now, and the next lamp post is a little way up the path. Just for a second, while walking through the brief darkness before you reach the next lamp post, you hear something. It sounds like footsteps.
You sprint to the safely of the next lamp, before whipping around. You’re breath hitches. There’s nothing there, just the inky black.
Even the lamp post you left behind you has flickered off.
Your heart speeds up and you continue walking, hurrying a little faster. Again, you hear it, the steady fall of hard-soled shoes behind you.
As you walk under the next post, it shuts off, leavening you in the dark. You hear another gust of wind brush against you, but the footsteps have now stopped. You look ahead and see that one by one, the lamp posts are shutting off. Your heart hammers in your chest and you take off. You chase the lights, trying to catch up before they leave you in the pitch black. You see the end of the path. On the other side is your apartment building. You’re so close, but before you can step into the beginnings of its light, that final post clicks off.
The dark swallows you up, and you fall.

Chapter Six: Growing Hopes.
Mel walked into the kitchen twenty minutes after her talk with Harry, her heart still beating harshly against her chest.
Her theory could be wrong, but at the same time, it was the best way to keep the lifeline and make sure it'd be useful.
They had three rules:
Keep a clear head, no romance could happen between them.
They would use the connection in case of major injuries, and only if they were given consent.
Harry had to learn to ground himself, and they would stay away from the other's problems unless requested differently.
"Hand me that baby!" She demanded Erick when she saw him.
"He's happy with me!" He complained, turning his back on her.
"I'm his sister!" Mel tickled his sides and he immediately gave in, Erick hated to be tickled. "Come here, Leggie, was this bad man annoying you?"
"It just won't budge, this has always worked before, I just can't understand it!" Mrs Weasley said from across the room, struggling to fix Hermione's eye.
"It'll be Fred and George's idea of a funny joke, making sure it can't come off," Ginny shrugged.
"But it's got to come off! I can't go around looking like this forever!"
"It won't stay forever," Mel said. "They're not that cruel..."
"You two stop moving around, you'll upset him!" Emily warned them, looking at the way Mel and Erick continued to fight for the boy's attention.
"We'll find an antidote, don't worry," Mrs Weasley patted Hermione's head.
"Bill told me 'ow Fred and George are very amusing!" said Fleur.
"Yes, I can hardly breathe for laughing," Hermione said sharply.
"Sorry about that," Mel sat down in front of the blonde. "She's a bit on edge — our O.W.L's will be arriving today..."
"Mrs Weasley, you're quite, quite sure no owls have arrived this morning?"
"Yes, dear, I'd have noticed. But it's barely nine, there's still plenty of time..."
"I know I messed up Ancient Runes," Hermione paced around the room, "I definitely made at least one serious mistranslation. And the Defense Against the Dark Arts practical was no good at all. I thought Transfiguration went all right at the time, but looking back —"
"Hermione, will you shut up, you're not the only one who's nervous!" Ron exclaimed. "And when you've got your eleven 'Outstanding' O.W.L.s..."
"Don't, don't, don't!" said Hermione. "I know I've failed everything!"
"Were you nervous about your O.W.L.s?" Harry asked Erick, he sat next to Mel and started playing with her brother.
"I was more worried about my family finding out I was talking to a muggle," He shrugged. "I had done all I could — Studied and wrote until my hands and eyes hurt, there was nothing I could do apart from waiting..."
"Erick was obsessed with getting his Prefect badge, the fifth-year examinations were a piece of cake for him, right?" Mel smiled.
"Yeah well, I really wanted to be a Prefect," He sighed. "I was an idiot..."
"You still are," Mel barely managed to cover Reg's face from the cloth Erick threw her at her remark. "Careful, you twat!"
"What happens if we fail, though?" Harry grabbed the baby, not wanting him to get hurt.
"We discuss our options with our Head of House, I asked Professor McGonagall at the end of last term," Hermione replied.
"At Beauxbatons," Fleur started, "we 'ad a different way of doing things. I think it was better. We sat our examinations after six years of study, not five, and then —"
Hermione screamed and ran to the window. Mel stood up and followed, Reggie started to cry.
"They're definitely owls," said Ron, looking out the window and gulping.
"And there are four of them," said Harry, walking up to them with the baby still in his arms.
"One for each of us," Hermione shivered. "Oh no... oh no... oh no..."
The girl gripped Ron's arm, Mel tried to quiet her brother distractedly, but she was too nervous to do it in a gentle way. Emily got closer and grabbed the baby, Erick stood next to the group.
"It's going to be okay, guys," He said simply.
"Oh shut up, what do you know?" Ron frowned.
"Oh no!" squealed Hermione, squeezing Ron's arm harder.
Mrs Weasley opened the kitchen window. Four owls landed on the table and lifted their right legs so they could grab their letters. Mel grabbed her own and ripped the envelope so fast she almost ruined the letter.

"Eight O.W.L's!" Erick had been reading over her shoulder. "That's wonderful, Mely!"
"Only failed Divination and History of Magic, and who cares about them?" Ron said brightly, showing her his letter. "Here — swap —"
Harry showed her his letter, there was only one 'O' in Defense Against the Dark Arts, but the rest was okay, all E's... and he'd gotten a 'P' on Divination like her.
"Knew you'd be top at Defense Against the Dark Arts," Ron punched Harry and Mel on the shoulders. "We've done all right, haven't we?"
"Well done!" said Mrs Weasley, ruffling Ron's hair. "Seven O.W.L.s, that's more than Fred and George got together!"
"I'm so proud of you!" Emily said, kissing Harry's cheek and hugging Mel tightly.
Erick pulled her in for an unexpected hug and lifted her from the ground, Mel laughed at his outburst.
"Hermione?" said Ginny carefully, noticing she was the only one who was quiet. "How did you do?"
"I — not bad," Hermione replied.
"Oh, come off it," Ron snatched her letter and read it quickly. "Yep — nine 'Outstandings' and one 'Exceeds Expectations' at Defense Against the Dark Arts. You're actually disappointed, aren't you?"
Hermione shook her head quietly, Mel and Harry laughed. Ron was looking at their friend with so much affection she couldn't believe she was the only one noticing.
"Well, we're N.E.W.T. students now!" grinned Ron, then he walked up to Erick and shook his hand. "Hope you're ready to welcome me in in those study sessions of yours... Godric knows I'll need them. Mum, are there any more sausages?"
Mel noticed she was still quite settled in Erick's arms and quickly moved out of his reach, patting his arm awkwardly.
"Your last year," She said. "How are you feeling?"
Erick looked at her.
"I'm not ready to say goodbye."

When the letters with their booklists arrived the morning after Harry's birthday, they had a pleasant surprise in them.
"I'm Headboy..." Erick said under his breath.
"I'm Captain!" Harry exclaimed.
The room lit up instantly, Mel got closer to examine Erick's badge and hugged him tightly, then she went to Harry.
"That gives you equal status with prefects!" Hermione was saying. "You can use our special bathroom now and everything!"
"Wow, I remember when Charlie wore one of these," said Ron. "Harry, this is so cool, you're my Captain — if you let me back on the team, I suppose, ha ha..."
"He'll let us in if he knows what's good for the team," Mel teased. "You and I are the reason why we won last year. And where was he? Playing hide in seek with Hagrid's little brother!"
"Careful, you don't want to upset your Captain," Harry joked.
"Oh, shut up," She snorted.
"Well, I don't suppose we can put off a trip to Diagon Alley much longer now you've got these," said Mrs Weasley. "We'll go on Saturday as long as your father doesn't have to go into work again. I'm not going there without him."
"Mum, d'you honestly think You-Know-Who's going to be hiding behind a bookshelf in Flourish and Blotts?"
"Fortescue and Ollivander went on holiday, did they? If you think security's a laughing matter you can stay behind and I'll get your things myself —"
"No, I wanna come, I want to see Fred and George's shop!" Ron exclaimed.
"Then you just buck up your ideas, young man, before I decide you're too immature to come with us! And that goes for returning to Hogwarts as well!"
Ron turned to look at his friends.
"Blimey... you can't even make a joke 'round here anymore..."
"Don't feel bad, you have the emotional range of a teaspoon, you can't help it!" Mel taunted, walking past him.
Tumblr media
Mel left the burrow with her Firebolt on one shoulder, ready to go and play with her friends when she spotted Erick sitting under a tree, reading one of the books he'd borrowed from her. For some reason, she felt like talking to him even though there was nothing new to say.
"Don't you get tired of reading?" She nudged his leg. "Don't get me wrong, I love books, but summer should be spent under the sun, gaining a bit of colour..."
"I have enough colour," Erick looked up at her. "I get all sweaty under the sun — hugely unattractive, and I have a reputation to maintain."
"As the heartthrob of our group?" Mel smirked. "I thought that was my title!"
"Your title is Lady Dumbledore," He grinned.
"Leaving you alone with Fred and George in Grimmauld Place was a mistake," She sat down next to him, examining his book. "Dracula? Finally reading something else than romance and fairytales I see..."
"Dracula's kind of romantic. Sort of fairy-like as well... if you look past the blood and violence..."
"Well, sounds like something realistic for sure..."
"Oh, please, didn't you say to me years ago that life could be a fairytale and all that?"
Mel groaned, she shook her head.
"That same day you told me how hard it is to choose between emotions and duty. We can't always be happy — What was I thinking when I thought I'd get the princess's ending, anyway? I'm a witch!"
"That's not the bubbly miss I used to know," Erick raised a brow. "I understand, though. My dreams were never as pink as yours, but they were ambitious... I guess they still are, but in a prudent way..."
"It's a start," Mel leaned against the tree. "I feel like I'm rebuilding myself... It's complicated."
"That makes two of us," He sighed. "It's good to have someone that understands, right?"
Mel suddenly felt self-conscious about how close they'd become over the last few weeks. It triggered the fly or fight reaction in her. Whatever she'd done with Fred last year helped her move on from her heartache, but it didn't make her trust her romantic feelings, whatever those pesky things were.
"Everything okay?"
She felt a tingling sensation, like thunder announcing a storm. Had his eyes always looked that honey-like with the sunlight?
"Yep," Mel squeaked, standing up and grabbing her firebolt. "I want to play..."
"Sure..." Erick frowned slightly. "Yeah, go ahead..."
"Are you sure you don't want to come?"
"My hair would get messy and I'd be all out of breath! Such a nightmare..."
"That's the whiny Prince I know," Mel smiled tensely, walking away.
Tumblr media
Diagon Alley was nothing like the bright, lousy place she used to remember. Every window had been covered with Ministry posters, Mel anxiously ran her fingers over the scars on her hand, scowling at every single banner.
Emily, Hagrid (who was there as their guard), Ron, Hermione, Harry and her went to get new robes. Ginny, Erick, Mr and Mrs Weasley decided to go and buy the books everyone needed.
No one noticed Harry Potter was passing next to them, Mel was starting to understand what it'd been like to live during the first wizarding war, and now she was living the second wave. She was slowly sinking in her own anguish when someone touched her shoulder gently.
"Don't get upset," Harry said, making eye contact. "Remember our game?" She nodded. "You want to play?"
She nodded again. He took a moment to think of a word, then he continued:
"Quidditch. Q—U— I— D..."
"D..." She whispered. "I— T— C— H."
"What's your favourite spell?"
"I..." She tilted her head. "I don't have one."
"Wise choice," He held her hand and guided her towards the next shop. "C'mon..."
Mel stared at him, Harry was acting so differently compared to last year it was almost scarier than his angry version. Still, she didn't let go of his hand until they entered the next shop. Emily went in with them, Hagrid stayed outside to watch the entrance.
"...not a child, in case you haven't noticed, Mother. I am perfectly capable of doing my shopping alone."
"Now, dear, your mother's quite right, none of us is supposed to go wandering around on our own anymore, it's nothing to do with being a child —"
"Watch where you're sticking that pin, will you!"
Draco walked out of the dressing room and stood in front of a mirror. After a second of quiet staring, he realized they were there.
"If you're wondering what the smell is, Mother," Malfoy sneered. "A Mudblood just walked in..."
"I don't think there's any need for language like that!" Madam Malkin walked out of the backroom as well. "And I don't want wands drawn in my shop either!"
The boys had their wands out, pointing at Malfoy. Hermione whispered something about ignoring the boy.
"Yeah, like you'd dare do magic out of school," Malfoy scoffed. "Who blacked your eye, Granger? I want to send them flowers."
"That's quite enough!" said Madam Malkin. "Madam — please —"
Narcissa Malfoy stared at Emily for a long time, then at the rest of the group.
"Put those away," she said shortly. "If you attack my son again, I shall ensure that it is the last thing you ever do."
"Really?" Harry stepped forward, he was as tall as the woman, and this seemed to encourage him. "Going to get a few Death Eater pals to do us in, are you?"
"Harry," Mel said in a tone of warning, Madame Malkin gasped.
"Really, you shouldn't accuse — dangerous thing to say — wands away, please!"
"Harry," Emily insisted. "Be wise..."
"I see that being Dumbledore's favourite has given you a false sense of security, Harry Potter," Narcissa smiled. "But Dumbledore won't always be there to protect you."
"Wow... look at that..." Harry looked around. "He's not here now! So why not have a go? They might be able to find you a double cell in Azkaban with your loser of a husband!"
"That's enough," Mel said sternly, lowering the boy's arm.
"Don't you dare talk to my mother like that, Potter!" Malfoy tried to get close but stumbled on his long robes.
"It's all right, Draco," said Narcissa, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I expect Potter will be reunited with dear Sirius before I am reunited with Lucius."
Harry tried to raised his wand again.
"I think we've had enough useless fights!" The girl stopped him. "My uncle may not be here but I'm pretty able to stop you on my own, Harry."
"Mel's right..." Emily put a hand on his shoulder to ease him.
"I think this left sleeve could come up a little bit more," Madame Malkin said anxiously, reaching for Malfoy's robes. "Dear, let me just —"
"Ouch! Watch where you're putting your pins, woman! Mother — I don't think I want these anymore —"
"You're right, Draco," said Narcissa, "now I know the kind of scum that shops here... We'll do better at Twilfitt and Tatting's. Oh, and Sultens," She eyed Emily one last time before leaving. "Congrats on birthing another bastard..."
"Let them go," Mel said roughly to the boys, noticing they were ready to attack again.
Emily looked away while the Malfoys exited the store.
"Mum?" The girl approached the woman carefully.
"It's fine," She said quietly. "I just need a moment... I'm fine."
Tumblr media
"Got ev'rything?" Hagrid asked them once they left the store.
"Just about... Did you see the Malfoys?"
"Yeah— Bu' they wouldn' dare make trouble in the middle o' Diagon Alley, Harry. Don' worry abou' them."
Mr and Mrs Weasley, Ginny and Erick arrived, all holding large packages.
"Everyone all right? Got your robes? Right then, we can pop in at the Apothecary and Eeylops on the way to Fred and George's — stick close, now..."
Mel remained silent the whole time they spent in the Apothecary, she picked the few ingredients for her next term and paid without focusing on what she was doing.
"How are you?" Erick caught up with her. "Harry told me what happened... You know the Malfoys are rubbish..."
Harry had sent Erick to talk to her? Instead of going himself? He was definitely keeping his distance. Which was excellent, but she didn't know why it hurt her anyway.
"I've heard it once or twice... never bothered me because I knew my father loved me, I never stopped to think about my mum..."
"What?"
"My parents never married," Mel explained. "They did everything a married couple is supposed to do... everything except marrying. They were waiting for the war to end."
"Titles are nothing unless you give them meaning, your mother knows that. Names mean nothing unless you want them to... Mel Dumbledore, that's one that'll mean great things one day."
Mel knew he was right, her parents had loved each other, and she had all the right in the world to be treated as a Dumbledore. Leon Regulus would be a Black if he wanted to, and her mother didn't need to do things like everyone else to be valid.
Tumblr media
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes was the only cheerful building left. They knew how to brighten up even the gloomiest of places. Mel felt a strong tug at the base of her stomach; she'd missed her friends.
'WHY ARE YOU WORRYING ABOUT YOU-KNOW-WHO?
U-NO-POO—
"They really know their priorities, don't they?" Erick raised a brow.
"They'll be murdered in their beds!" Mrs Weasley lamented.
"No they won't!" Ron laughed. "This is brilliant!"
Mel couldn't help feeling a bit anxious, Emily stared at the sign and smiled absently.
"Sirius would've loved this..."
With every step she took inside the loud and crowded place, her chest warmed up with memories. She'd been present for the creation of at least half of all those, it was a nice change to reminisce over something that made her happy instead of miserable and mournful.
"'One simple incantation and you will enter a top-quality, highly realistic, thirty-minute daydream," Hermione read. "Easy to fit into the average school lesson and virtually undetectable (side effects include vacant expression and minor drooling). Not for sale to under-sixteens' — You know, that really is extraordinary magic!"
"For that, Hermione, you can have one for free."
Mel turned around so fast she accidentally hit Harry's face with her hair. She jumped into Fred's arms and squeezed him as hard as she could, a pleasant wave of accomplishment washed over her when she noticed she was almost as tall as him now. Almost, the top of her head was barely reaching his nose, though.
"Good to see I've been missed," He beamed. "How are you handling our break-up, Lady? Not good I see... Listen, I'm trying to date new people, having you in my arms every time we see each other it's kind of a bad look."
"Shut up," Mel quickly cleaned her tear-stained face. "I'm sorry, I don't go around jumping on people and crying — I'm just happy to see you."
Fred ruffled her hair and offered her a handkerchief he pulled out from his pocket.
"How are you, Harry?" He reached for the boy's hand and shook it. "And what's happened to your eye, Hermione?"
"Your punching telescope."
"Oh blimey, I forgot about those! Here —" He pulled a tub of something out of another pocket and gave it to her. "Just dab it on, that bruise'll be gone within the hour. We had to find a decent bruise remover. We're testing most of our products on ourselves."
"It is safe, isn't it?" Hermione asked reluctantly.
"'Course it is! Come on, guys, I'll give you a tour. Wait —" He looked around. "Where's the Prince?"
Mel looked around as well. "He was right behind me when I walked in!"
"We'll find him," Fred put an arm around her shoulders and guided her towards a shelf. "You've grown! Try to stay like this, won't you? If my ex-girlfriend ends up being taller and prettier than me..."
"Looks like I'm halfway there!" She teased.
Harry followed them, Hermione decided to stay behind.
"Muggle magic tricks!" Fred happily pointed to the boxes on their right. "For freaks like Dad, you know, who love Muggle stuff. It's not a big earner, but we do fairly steady business, they're great novelties — Erick will love them... Oh, here's George — Ah, hello there, Prince!"
"Caught him snooping around the love potions," George smirked, his own arm around Erick, who was now taller than him. "Can you believe it? As if this twat needed one! — Blimey, lady, you're taller too! That's not fair!"
George shook hands with Harry, and Erick allowed Fred to give him a hug.
"Giving them the tour? Come through the back, guys, that's where we're making the real money — pocket anything, you— and you'll pay in more than Galleons!" George warned a boy who was trying to get edible dark marks from a tub — "they'll make anyone sick!"
George guided them to the back, Erick approached her with a worried expression.
"You've been crying."
"What?" She touched her face, but it was dry. "How do you..? Doesn't matter, I got emotional, that's all."
"Emotional?"
"I'd missed the twins, alright?" Mel replied defensively.
"You didn't even date for real..." Erick grumbled, she pretended not to hear.
"We've just developed this more serious line," Fred explained to them. "Funny how it happened..."
"You wouldn't believe how many people, even people who work at the Ministry, can't do a decent Shield Charm," George mentioned. "'Course, they didn't have you two teaching them."
"That's right... Well, we thought Shield Hats were a bit of a laugh, you know, challenge your mate to jinx you while wearing it and watch his face when the jinx just bounces off. But the Ministry bought five hundred for all its support staff! And we're still getting massive orders!"
"So we've expanded into a range of Shield Cloaks, Shield Gloves..."
"...I mean, they wouldn't help much against the Unforgivable Curses, but for minor to moderate hexes or jinxes..."
"An abrupt attack would no longer be useful," Mel said in astonishment. "Boys, this is wonderful!"
"We thought we'd get into the whole area of Defense Against the Dark Arts, because it's such a money-spinner," George nodded. "This is cool. Look, Instant Darkness Powder, we're importing it from Peru. Handy if you want to make a quick escape."
"And our Decoy Detonators are just walking off the shelves, look," said Fred. "You just drop one surreptitiously and it'll run off and make a nice loud noise out of sight, giving you a diversion if you need one.
"Impressive," Erick admitted, examining the boxes.
There was something absurd about the way Fred and George were so casually talking about their newest products. The context in which these things had been created was dark, but to them, it was just another funny experiment that had succeeded, and as crazy as it was, Mel felt hopeful. If something as bright, colourful and happy could still stand in the midst of war, then surely not everything was changing for the worst.
"Handy," said Harry.
"Here," George grabbed a fistful of the products and put a bit on the hands of the three friends.
"There's a customer out here looking for a joke cauldron, Mr Weasley and Mr Weasley," A girl said through the curtain.
Hearing the 'Mr Weasley' reminded her that time wasn't forgiving, and soon enough she would also be of age. However, this seemed terribly unimportant when so many marvellous things were happening around her.
"Right you are, Verity, I'm coming," said George. "Guys, you help yourself to anything you want, all right? No charge."
"I can't do that!" said Harry.
"And neither can we," Mel frowned, Erick nodded.
"You don't pay here," said Fred, brushing it aside.
"But —"
"You gave us our start-up loan, Harry, we haven't forgotten," said George. "Erick, your gran' got us this place and he asked for nothing in return but for us to watch over you, and that means we don't accept the money he left so you could watch after yourself. Mel," He smirked. "You're just too pretty to pay."
"Don't forget she's always believed in us! Helped while we were making half of these!" Fred added. "But yeah, being good-looking is the main reason."
Mel snorted, she was unaware of the way Erick rolled his eyes at the innocent and playful compliments.
"Take whatever you like," George shrugged, "and just remember to tell people where you got it, if they ask."
Fred led them back into the main room, Hermione and Ginny were still checking the Patented Daydream Charms.
"Haven't you girls found our special WonderWitch products yet? Follow me, ladies..."
"Oh, wow," Mel grimaced. "This looks like something Umbridge would love..."
Near the window was an array of violently pink products around which a cluster of excited girls was giggling enthusiastically. Hermione and Ginny both hung back, looking wary.
"There you go," said Fred. "Best range of love potions you'll find anywhere."
"Do they work?" Ginny asked sceptically.
"Certainly they work, for up to twenty-four hours at a time depending on the weight of the boy in question —"
"— and the attractiveness of the girl," George was suddenly once more at their side. "But we're not selling them to our sister. Not when she's already got about five boys on the go from what we've —"
"Whatever you've heard from Ron is a big fat lie," said Ginny curtly.
"Wait," Mel smirked. "Were these the potions you were examining a while ago, Prince?"
"Oh yeah," George said, a devilish grin on his face. "But he doesn't need them. Not when he's finally gaining weight and colour! I tell you, now that he's a hero he'll be having hoards of people lining up for a date!"
Mel laughed, picking up a bottle. "I'm intrigued..."
"Oh no," Fred snatched the bottle from her hand. "You give this to a boy and you'll drive him mad!"
"He'd end up in St. Mungo's for sure," George nodded solemnly.
"Sod off, you two," Mel protested. "I wasn't planning on buying it!"
"Good," said Harry and Erick at the same time.
"What's this?" Ginny asked promptly, distracting the twins.
"Guaranteed ten-second pimple vanisher," said Fred. "Excellent on everything from boils to blackheads, but don't change the subject. Are you or are you not currently going out with a boy called Dean Thomas?"
"Yes, I am. And last time I looked, he was definitely one boy, not five. What are those?"
"Pygmy Puffs," said George. "Miniature puffskeins, we can't breed them fast enough. So what about Michael Corner?"
"I dumped him, he was a bad loser — They're really cute!"
"They're fairly cuddly, yes. But you're moving through boyfriends a bit fast, aren't you?" Fred insisted.
Ginny turned to look at him, both hands on her hips and looking alarmingly similar to her mother.
"It's none of your business. And I'll thank you," She yelled to Ron, who had just appeared, "not to tell tales about me to these two!"
"That's three Galleons, nine Sickles, and a Knut," said Fred. "Cough up."
"I'm your brother!"
"And that's our stuff you're nicking. Three Galleons, nine Sickles. I'll knock off the Knut."
"But I haven't got three Galleons, nine Sickles!"
"You'd better put it back then, and mind you put it on the right shelves."
Ron dropped the boxes, yelled at Fred to put them right up his arse, and showed him his middle finger. Unfortunately, Mrs Weasley was there to witness it.
"If I see you do that again I'll jinx your fingers together!"
"Mum, can I have a Pygmy Puff?" asked Ginny.
"A what?"
"Look, they're so sweet..."
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Mel and Erick suddenly had a wide view of the window. Malfoy was hurrying down the street across from theirs.
"Wonder where his mummy is?" Harry asked.
"Given her the slip by the looks of it," said Ron.
"Why, though?" said Hermione.
"Throwing a tantrum, maybe?" Erick offered.
"Get under here, quick," said Harry, pulling his Invisibility Cloak out.
"Oh — I don't know, Harry," Hermione looked towards the rest of the group.
"He's Malfoy, who cares what he's doing?" Mel frowned.
"Come on!" Ron insisted.
Erick looked over his shoulder, making sure no one was watching.
"I'll distract them," He said. "Just try to be back soon."
"Thank you," Mel whispered, disappearing under the cloak.

We Are Who We Are Overall Thoughts *spoilers*
This review will be discussing briefly some of the episodes so far, so SPOILERS
Tumblr media
So I started watching the HBO original series, We Are Who We Are, and I am conflicted. When I initially watched it, the dialogue made it hard for me to enjoy it so I stopped. Then after a couple of weeks after its airing, I thought, what the hell? And this time, I was pleasantly surprised. I always maintain the belief that pilot episodes are either boring, messy, or just bad so I try to push past it in order to get to the good shit. The pilot for We Are Who We Are was...I’m not sure how to explain...different? It certainly wasn’t bad and it made an impression on me, but this show as a whole is hard to limit by just a few words. It’s really something that you should watch and experience yourself.
It was only after the first 3 episodes that I began to understand the tone and mood that Luca Guadagnino was trying to convey. A lot of the time, the dialogue is abrupt and choppy and can make no sense. It can be frustrating, especially when you have two characters that aren’t communicating effectively. But I think that was the point. Guadagnino is a very realistic director, he captures the most realistic elements in a film. A lot of the conversations between characters is meant to emulate real life. Like, what the hell do you say when a conversation becomes awkward? Well, nothing sometimes.
Tumblr media
While Guadagnino’s typical cinematography may suggest whimsy, in WAWWA’s case the small structured and synthetic model of the military base is juxtaposed to the very concrete characters. When I started to view the show less as simply a televised airing of fictional characters and problems, and instead looked at them as people, I began to really enjoy it.
Take the main character of Fraser, played by Jack Dylan Grazer. Fraser is meant to be seen as an extremely complex and troubled kid, but the difference between him and every other teen in a coming-of-age drama is that he isn’t polished. His drinking and drug habit isn’t framed as romantic or beautiful, in fact most of the time it’s portrayed as his weakness of sorts. In the first episode, Fraser has one of his mothers drive him home after getting pretty wasted and Luca graces us with a direct shot of him throwing up. And before that, Fraser is stumbling on a bridge when he drunkenly falls and cuts his face. Everything the character does is messy, uncoordinated, yet extremely real and relatable. Hell, in one shot you can clearly see him do a Naruto run!
Tumblr media
Caitlin/Harper is a character that I enjoyed watching, as well. Jordan Seamon did a fantastic job and I really connected with their character. Initially we see Caitlin as this mysterious girl, and in the pilot we are meant to assume that their relationship with Fraser is supposed to develop into a romantic one. This is not the case as it seems that Caitlin is trying to come to terms with who they are. The biggest shift in Caitlin’s character isn’t their friendship with Fraser but probably when they get their period.
This was a moment that even I related to, even though I am cis when I first got my period I didn’t tell my mom until the day after. The possible confusion and shift in their reality that Caitlin felt was only heightened with the conflict of their boyfriend wanting to be more physically intimate, and Fraser’s eventual discover of Harper. I would have like to see exactly why Fraser seemed drawn to Caitlin. I’m assuming viewers were supposed to think that Fraser is attracted to her, or something. But both Caitlin/Harper and Fraser are queer coded and their respective sexualities are alluded to not being straight. It would’ve made their standing as platonic friends more clear if this had been established stronger.
I definitely think the writer could have devoted more time to giving certain characters proper conversations. It would’ve given more development to certain characters and better context for things. However even without that, there is a lot that the audience is showed that can’t be told through dialogue. The power struggle between Sarah and Richard being one. So far, there hasn’t been any explanation as to why they have a such a volatile relationship other than Richard being a homophobe.
Through deeper inspection, I was able to interpret it as: Richard may heavily resent the fact the Sarah was promoted to Colonel and not him. It is never made clear who has the better credentials, Sarah or Richard, but assuming that she was the one promoted it is a safe guess. This may be highlighted by the fact that Sarah is a women, and also gay. Even before episode 7, it was clear that Richard did not respect her authority. I also interpreted it as Richard being upset that and openly gay women was promoted instead of him, a black man.
Of course this is just based on my own personal knowledge of how the U.S. military can be towards people of color and LGBTQ+. Regardless, the competitive tension between two parents is palpable without needing dialogue to explain.
When conflict happens, I can kind of figure out which characters are going to react and which one’s will stay silent. I think the show is trying to accomplish a drastically realistic and raw series. It took me while to adjust to it, but by maybe the 2nd or 3rd episode, it starts to grow on you. Despite not liking a good majority of the characters, I was very surprised by how invested I was in them.
Like, Danny is my least favorite character because he displays very abusive and explosive tendencies, and doesn’t seem to care about the world around him. However, getting glimpses into his character and seeing how Richard ignores him for Caitlin/Harper, his suicidal thoughts, and how he is trying to reclaim his cultural and religious background makes me empathize with him.
Tumblr media
Even though I hate his character, I can see that he is struggling. I appreciate the way that this show freely shows dark skinned black boys dealing with mental health issues, and personal development. Rarely are issues like suicide talked about in the black community, so seeing Danny talk about it and Craig offering(admittedly poor)comfort was touching. This is a general vibe that I get from nearly all the characters on WAWWA. I also appreciated the how Danny is actively trying to convert to Islam. In shows, rarely is Islam ever portrayed in a positive manner. Especially when female characters are shown to be struggling with their religion, Islam is shown as this barrier that prevents them from living life. Hopefully it goes without saying that the “taking off the hijab” as a way to show that a female character is “liberated” is overplayed and does not offer any respect to the countless Muslim women who choose to wear hijabs.
Now I think the pacing of some of the storylines could have been handled a bit more gracefully. Like how we jump from Fraser and Harper being kind of enemies(not really but you know what I mean), to just them hanging out in Richard’s boat was jarring. I would have at least liked to see the scene of them talking on the rocks at the beach. It would’ve given more insight on Caitlin/Harper’s character and also on Fraser too. Also how quickly Maggie and Lu(Jennifer but I love the name Lubaba, it’s my aunt’s name)jump into a physical affair. I just would have liked to see a build up of tension between all these characters but I don’t think this entirely ruins the plot.
Tumblr media
I was very iffy when I learned that the show would be focusing on trans identity and gender and sexuality, but not actually hire a trans male actor. I was afraid that the show would completely botch the experiences of being transgender, and honestly I don’t have the authority to speak on whether or not this affects the quality of the show. I am cisgender, and only can empathize with this particular situation as much as I can. But I would like to hear to the opinion of someone who is trans and elaborate on the ways that they did/didn’t like Jordan Kristine Seamón’s portrayal.
Now at the time I’m writing this, the season finale has yet to come out. But I’d also like to briefly discuss the most recent episode and how it developed Jonathan and Fraser’s relationship. I was VERY worried that Guadagnino was going to take their relationship in the direction of inappropriate. While nearly all the depictions of Jonathan and his actions have been trough Fraser’s pov, it didn’t stop me from side-eyeing some of the interactions they shared. Of course after it was mentioned that Jonathan was supposed to be in his late 20s, nearing 30 I was immediately uncomfortable with the very flirty behavior he exhibited.
Tumblr media
So when the scene of Fraser going up to his apartment after Craig’s death, I was very on edge. If Guadagnino had gone the extra mile to show an even larger age gap then I would’ve been pissed. While I enjoyed Call Me By Your Name, the implication that sexual relationships between barely legal teenagers and adults well into their 20s was sensual is something that I see as very weird now that I’m older. So seeing Jonathan as the object of Fraser’s affections made me extremely warry.
And honestly, I’m still surprised that the scene even happened in its entirety. I’m sure that Jack was not in any danger of being exploited but there were definitely points while watching I thought, what the fuck is going on? I was very worried that it would escalate, but I was happy to see that Fraser was the one who stopped it from going further.  It made sense to me that this scene took so many liberties to be as graphic as possible without being too graphic, in order to show why a situation like that would be scary and confusing for Fraser. It wasn’t lost to me that Marta and Jonathan were the one’s initiating all the sexual advances. They held all the power in that scenario, even more so because Fraser is younger and has the tendencies to not make the best decisions. Though it seemed that Fraser was trying, he knew that the situation was fucked up.
I’d like to hear what JDG felt and thought doing this scene. What was his character’s thought process?
I’ve seen a lot of people compare the show heavily to CMBYN, which is fine. Besides certain cinematic parallels that people pointed out, I don’t see the clear comparison. CMBYN is more of a love story and it’s more polished than WAWWA. Now when I say tat, I don’t mean it as a negative. Rather, We Are Who We is obviously more devoted to realism and its characters. I appreciate the inclusion of more LGBTQ+ people and black main characters with development, something that CMBYN lacked. And for some people who didn’t like the show based solely on the fact that it wasn’t a CMBYN tv show, I suggest just going into it with no expectations and enjoy the mess.
And I’d also like to take a moment to commend Jack Dylan Grazer for his job in We Are Who We Are. All of the main cast are amazing actors and actresses and did a really good job bringing their characters to life. Though, I had always associated JDG with supporting roles that, while highlighted his acting talent, only put him in a one-dimensional light. As good as It 2017 was, JDG’s role of Eddie is only meant to be seen as a comic relief. In WAWWA, I was able to forget that he was teen actor, Jack Dylan Grazer, and really see him as Fraser. It’s worth mentioning that in a GQ interview, Grazer also mentioned how this role made him reevaluate is approach to acting.
And after reading an interview he did with a Interview Germany, with him saying he spent months in Italy reading the script and trying to perfectly craft this character, I was immensely impressed. I hope that he knows that all his hard work payed off and made a really dynamic and interesting character. I really hope that in the future JDG continues with more mature or multi-dimensional roles because he displayed that he has the talent to do so. Him being so young makes me optimistic in knowing that he is definitely going places in his career. I also hope that there will be a season 2 of WAWWA because despite having hour long episodes, the show still felt way too short. There is a lot about Fraser’s character, and all the others’ characters, that I want more information and analysis on.
