Personality Connections between the Guardians and their Zodiac Signs
Hi fellow OFF fans,
It’s been a while cause I was busy with school but now that it’s summer I can post more! So, I thought I’d start off my activity with basically diving into the three Guardians’ connections with their zodiac cards; specifically, zodiac signs and their personalities. Now I know that a lot of people write off zodiac signs as unreliable nonsense but I find it interesting personally and idkkk I may be going crazy but so far zodiac signs have been fairly accurate at describing some people I’ve met sooo let’s hop into it. I will be basing all my assumptions based on this book: “The Signs: Decode the Stars, Reframe Your Life” by Carolyne Faulker. It’s a pretty interesting read even if you don’t believe in Zodiac signs, well at least I had fun reading it. (SPOILER WARNING) Naturally, this post will spoil a large amount of OFF’s lore and story, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, please don’t read until you’ve experienced OFF in the way you want to experience it.
First off, we have Dedan, Guardian of Zone 1. When you defeat him, he drops his zodiac card, the Cancer card. Now, every sign has good traits and bad traits, and if a person exhibits more bad traits than good traits they can be very different from our usual expectations of that sign. I say that because a lot of people think of the Cancer sign as kind, sensitive, and nurturing, all things that our current Dedan is not. ‘Gone Wrong,’ as the book puts it, Cancer signs can be unforgiving, slow to trust anyone, over-ambitious, over-sensitive, and insecure. Dedan appears to exhibit most if not all of these traits. He cannot stand the thought of anyone other than himself being competent at defending Zone 1 from specters, as we can see from the scene at the barns with an Elsen: “And why does he think he's capable of destroying those stupid phantoms?” He is so overly sensitive of anyone being rude to him that he spits at the Elsen, “I'll be returning to Alma. At least the people there are polite. They ain't constantly cutting you off" despite the Elsen simply trying to explain the situation. He is overly ambitious in that he expects all employees in his “company” to be extremely productive and efficient and also in that he believes himself the only one in his zone who should defeat the specters. Also, Dedan is extremely slow to trust; he is extremely distrustful of the Batter, believing him to be a specter despite the Batter never directly harming normal workers of this zone. In fact, he outright threatens to kill the Batter. Whether he knows the Batter’s true nature and aims to stop that or if he is simply paranoid is still up for debate; however, Dedan does exhibit many of the negative signs of a Cancer ‘Gone Wrong.’ (It’s also interesting that flashback Dedan showed a lot of positive Cancer aspects to Hugo.)
Next, we have Japhet. Japhet possesses the Pisces card, a sign known for perception, spirituality, and connecting with nature. Looking again at the negative traits of the Pisces sign, we see Pisces ‘Gone Wrong’ can be flaky, overly-strong willed, sensitive, and having a fierce temper. The book I am referencing from notes, “Pisces rarely walk the middle ground: you are either the most reliable and committed people or simply flaky!” Japhet was certainly one of if not the most committed Guardians to his zone, as a book in Zone 2′s library reads, “"He was constantly on his feet, doing his best to provide safety and peace to his subjects." Japhet is certainly more on the committed side (even in his rampage) rather than flaky, so we’ll move on to the other traits. In fact I think he is more overly-strong willed than flaky, in my interpretation. However, Japhet is certainly sensitive. When he fails to gain his peoples’ recognition and gratitude, he falls into despair and curses the people he once protected. I guess maybe this could be interpreted as a reasonable reaction to being forgotten to the people you once dedicated your life too, but perhaps another reaction could’ve been to ignore and forget the people or even stage events to make yourself known again. But, Japhet does lash out at the batter upon meeting him for no other reason than to inflict his wrath. And I think it’s safe to say that Japhet does have an explosive temper.
Third comes Enoch. Enoch, the Guardian of Zone 3, keeps the Aquarius card. Aquarius’ “bad” traits include controlling, difficult, contrary, emotionally detached, prone to extreme views, and elitist. We don’t have much information on Enoch due to how briefly we interact with him, so we’ll mainly be examining implications from the condition of his zone. Sprinkled around his zone from the bunkers to the cafeteria are many instructional posters, such as “Do not bring the desert to bed” and "Chew your meat well or you will not get any dessert." It seems a little controlling that these rules are abound whereas we have never seen such posters in other zones. Besides, it’s a little odd that an institution would even care about how well their employees chew their meat. Enoch is certainly emotionally detached, as he tells his employees false information that the ghosts are friends in order to acquire more bodies for sugar production, regardless of the inhumane effects it has on his employees wellbeing. Not to mention that sugar consumption, the basis of life in Zone 3, has some pretty grim effects on Elsens that consume it in the long run. Enoch’s views seem pretty extreme regarding himself, as he enjoys comparing himself to gods; upon meeting him, he says in the conversation: "We are a little like gods, drawing the infinite power of the sun to sculpt our worlds into the nothingness. Ahaha, I love that metaphor." While it is true that the Zones are powered by the Guardians’ life force, comparing oneself to a god can be seen as a little excessive or at least prideful. Also, when confronted by the Batter on the depravity of his zone, Enoch exclaims that “This is my fortress of happiness! My wall against the specters!" Based on the twisted condition of many employees, this doesn’t appear to be a “fortress of happiness,” at least not for the majority. Lastly, concerning the elitist trait, the book describes this trait as, “fighting for the one per cent to keep their status and obscene wealth to build an Elysium, which they hope will protect them from the rest of us when the balloon goes up.” This concept seems to hold up in Zone 3. It doesn’t seem to have any meaningful connections with the other zones, and Enoch even describes it as his “wall against the specters.” Enoch appears to stay in his office, surrounded by signs proclaiming, “Executive suite's note: You must not be here." He has pretty much barred himself off from the world in his protected zone, careless of any suffering outside it. He seems only concerned with protecting the one percent: himself.
Almost done now. If you’ve read this far I applaud you and thank you putting up with my awful writing, as you didn’t have to but here you are. Last but not least, we have the Judge, Pablo. I argue that he is a Guardian, as he gives us the Leo card at the beginning and seems to be the keeper of Zone 0, patrolling it now and then. The Leo card is already highly fitting for the Judge, as the lion is a species of big cat. Also the Judge is more of the ‘gone right’ kind rather than ‘gone wrong’ so we’ll be looking at more positive traits. Leo ‘Gone Right’ exhibits integrity, loyalty, generosity, and bravery. The Judge certainly values integrity, as he praises the player in the beginning for their noble quest but berates them once he sees what their quest has truly become. The Judge appears to be loyal to us, or at least consistently helpful. Now, concerning generosity, the Judge is not extremely generous but he is generous to help us learn to reigns of the world in Zone 0 and gives us hints throughout the game despite us giving him nothing. The Judge is rather brave to stand up to the Batter, a being of unstoppable destruction near the end of the game. Picking the Batter to side with will end in his demise, but he attempts to stop us nevertheless. It’s also interesting to note that a ‘gone wrong’ trait of Leo signs is being grandiose and ostentatious, as the Judge frequently speaks in long, complicated sentences with fancy words.
Well, that’s all of the Guardians and their Zodiac symbols. Thank you for reading if you read to the end! Forgive my poor writing and grammatical mistakes, I wrote this at 2:40 AM because I couldn’t sleep. Good night.

OFF THEORY OFF THEORY
// mentions of the Bible and biblical stories
ok so all three of the guardians; Dedan, Japhet, and Enoch are all named after people in the Bible. All of those said people are related to Noah. (Dedan was Noah’s grandson, Japhet[h] was Noah’s son, and Enoch was Noah’s great grandfather) In the story of Noah, God saw that mankind was evil,, so He was going to wipe them all out, but He saw Noah was good, so He told him to build the ark for his whole family and the animals so they all wouldnt die.
We know in OFF, Hugo is the equivalent of/is God,,,, so what if,,, Hugo saw how much a mess/how his world was falling apart, so he sent a “flood” aka The Batter with the Player to wipe everything out??????? To start anew. It atleast gives a shard of hope in the ending. That everything gets destroyed in order to be remade into something better.

I wonder if Zacharie and Sucre might have represented Hugo’s concepts of what parents should be like or what they are, contaminated and affected by the ways Hugo’s understanding of those roles shifted. Obviously, the Batter and the Queen are more direct representations of his father and mother within the world of OFF, but Zacharie and Sucre might have been parents he imagined for himself, in a way, or his hopes for his own parents, damaged by the shattering of those hopes.
Zacharie, firstly, has the background of being some sort of heroic figure of legend for no discernible reason, having killed the dastardly Toad King. He also owns the amusement park. To Hugo, fathers are supposed to be heroic, successful, hardworking. But Zacharie also isn’t really any of those things, not during the game. He stands in passive support of the Batter’s mission for the world’s eradication. Hugo didn’t particularly like his father, wishing his mother would rescue him from the Room. He hated the pills and he hated the Room. When the Batter kills Sucre, Zacharie says, “I suppose that’s for the best,” complacent, if reluctantly, in the elimination of a “mother figure.”
Sucre is barely even present. She spends the length of the game tucked away in a basement, the secret, optional boss, until she dies at the hands of the Batter. She’s easy to miss. She’s the X’s to the Batter’s O’s, but she’s not difficult to beat with a little bit of poison. She’s supposed to be a hard boss, she’s supposed to be the strongest, but she isn’t, because of her great critical flaw. She wears X’s over her chest, and though there are far more appealing interpretations of this imo, the tape(?) seems to cross out her breasts, traditional symbols of a mother’s role in the nourishment of a child. She chooses to hide herself away, she chooses not to stand in the way of the Batter unless sought out, she chooses to look for an escape from the reality she fears via distance and sugar. She’s supposed to be sweet, but she’s only ever distant and afraid.

Hello Tan Blaque, I'm planning to create my own version of the Batter, from the OFF game. I want to ask if he had 4 eyes? or this is only a fan-made theory? I'm not done playing the game, I'm currently in "The Room" (I'm stuck on the first profile) stage still not encountering the 4-eyed batter. Mortis Ghost also drew multiple eyes of the batter (his face is basically occupied with eyes) any advice, insights, or comments about this? Thank you!
Mortis Ghost said he has "eyebrows and eyes". Source and an illustration of what Mortis meant.
Other variations are just headcanons, interesting ones though!

Excuse me, I have a theory that I've been saying since Deltarune Chapter 2 dropped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we all know these guys, right? The Elsen from OFF (by Mortis Ghost) on the left, Plugboys from Deltarune Chapter 2 (by Toby Fox) on the right. They're just little guys. They live in their respective games and kind of fill the void of the generic npc that you need to populate the world in an RPG.
NOW.
Elsen have the capability to become "burnt", and Plugboys can become "corrupted" and turn into Werewires.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M GETTING AT??
Anyways play OFF by Mortis Ghost, banger game.

Ghost! Subway bosses haunted Rails au: how it began.
(Ok so is now a thing I guess,) So Ingo and Emmet died there was an explosion in one of the subway tunnels that collapse on top of the train killing everyone inside, the tunnel was too unstable to clear out, so the city had it closed and boarded up and turned the tunnel into a memorial to the Twins and the souls that were lost that day.
However, rumors soon started circulating about the accident, not being an accident, apparently some trainer who was pissed that they lost against the Twins one too many times planned the explosion, Not long after this started sightings of strange apparitions wandering the Gear Station at night were reported in the abandoned tunnels.
Witness swearing it was one of the Trevithick twins! Now the subway became popular again... for a whole different reason,  As groups of urban explorers and amateur ghost hunters would break in and try to sneak into the crumbling tunnel intending to catch a glimpse of the spectral conductor.
That's where you come in dear reader, you were never one to believe in such tales.(Shocking considering you were Morty's cousin and all.) You were a realist; a lady of science! And as far as you were concerned ghosts were only a type of Pokémon.
So your theory is that it was just a ghost or psychic type Pokémon that was being used by the city's tourists association to garner more cash flow into the subway. Now that the battle trains were completely obsolete. They tried to keep them running, but it just wasn't the same without their poster boys Ingo and Emmet running the show. So the battle trains were retired and the gear station became a regular subway station.
You were dared by your friends to spend the night in the station and prove it was just as you said; a Pokémon causing the hauntings, So you got to the station 15 minutes before it closed, and hid in the women's washrooms by putting up caution tape and an out of Order sign on one of the stall doors, You stepped inside the stall sat on top of the toilet and waited, ten minutes later the washroom lights went off. You heard the announcement on the P.A. that the station was now closed and to leave.
You heard the guards doing their rounds, one of them came into the woman's room, you watched their feet from the gap under the stall; checking each one before stopping at yours. You held your breath as they stood there for a few moments.
They tried the door to make sure it was really locked then turned around and left, you relaxed and stepped off the toilet, and left the washroom and looked around the dimly lit and empty station, it had a more eerie feeling to it, the shadows felt as if they waiting for you to get closer so it can swallow you whole.
You shuddered suddenly second guessing your decision...Like you were totally trespassing on public property! that's like, what? a 1000 dollar fine and a week in jail?? and not to mention that'll show up permanently on your record that you were arrested!
You nervously spared a glance towards the exit one last time before turning on your flashlight walking down the stairs towards the tunnels...Not realizing you were being watched and followed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emmet: "Hey, can't you hear me? you can't be here!" Emmet winced as the y/hc woman walked through him completely oblivious to his presence as the ghostly conductor tried desperately to get her attention.
He saw her hiding out in the washrooms at first he though it was just another ghost not realizing they were dead, he saw her sneak out after the security guard did his rounds, Emmet had called out to her, but the woman seem to ignore him.
Needless to say, Emmet was shocked to learn that she was alive when his hand went through her shoulder, he started following her as she walked down the stairs, Emmet knew he  had to make her leave, before it noticed her nosing around!
Emmet looked around for something to throw and scare her away, but got distracted when he saw the woman hop off the platform and walk down the tunnel. "Don't go down that way! wait up!" he hovered after her not realizing how much his unlife was about to change after this night....
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingo: "Ma'am, I must insist that that you leave!" Ingo huffed as he followed after the woman trespassing in the station, He kept trying to grab her arm or blocking her way but it was in vain as the woman passed right through him every time, Ingo let out a frustrated growl... all those horror movies Emmet liked to watch lied!
According to them the living should at least feel his presence when he's nearby, but so far no ones acknowledged him once! And that's a big problem! Especially since the situation will become dire if he doesn't get this woman out of the station... before It knows she's here!
Ingo followed the woman down the stair towards the green line platform, the black clad conductor still tried to get her attention as she jumped off the platform and onto the tracks “Arc’s sake!” he hissed following after her, not realizing how much things were about to change for him tonight.

What are your thoughts on Hugo?
i think hugo is a kid that got massively fucked over by the people he was supposed to be able to trust. he’s a very sad character no matter which angle you look at him from.
hugo is a VERY interesting character imo. especially because off is a very ambiguous game when it comes to a lot of things relating to him.
i’m going to come out (again) as a disliker of the whole “batter and queen are hugo’s parents” theory that had every off enjoyer in a chokehold when the game was big. not that there’s anything inherently wrong with it! it’s a completely valid way to read the game but it’s just not my favorite personally, and i’ll tell you why.
i think a lot of people read it that way because of a mistranslation in one of the english versions, which was rectified in a later version. i’ve never been able to find an actual statement abt hugo’s relation to the batter (besides being his creator) from mortis ghost himself so i just choose to believe it isn’t the case.
it is very easy to read batter as being hugo’s dad! but keep in mind what exactly the batter is before you come to any conclusion. the batter is a physical incarnation of the concept of purity and, according to mortis on the anniversary stream, was created the moment that OFF began. this clashes hardcore with the information we receive about hugo in the room, where it states that his father left him there while he waited for his mother (the queen) to pick him up.
is it possible that hugo made the batter for a time, then the batter “died”, and then the batter was remade a while later? yeah. is it likely? probably not. so unless one of those continue stop rise motherfuckers was running around and ended up spawning i don’t really think the “father” that keeps being mentioned in the room is the batter. who it actually is i haven’t got a clue in hell but based on this alone i can’t really say in good faith it’s him.
“but grimkid! if the batter isn’t hugo’s dad what is he!!!” i hear you ask. and i’ll tell you.
hugo is a very young child stuck in a VERY scary situation. he’s been ignored, forgotten, and neglected. the only time anyone paid him any truly positive attention was with three complete strangers that ended up abandoning him, too. he’s no doubt scared, confused, sad and angry too. it’s a lot for someone who can’t be any more than five years old, isn’t it? and what do very young children typically do when they feel like that?
they cry. they throw tantrums. they’re too young to understand what’s going on with them so they end up trying to express themselves by taking it out on their surrounding with (usually) little to no understanding of the actual consequences. this is doubly so for children who are never positively taught how to express those feelings in other methods, which hugo was most certainly not.
i think the batter is an extension of hugo, made out of the desire to lash out at the world around him. through the batter, he takes his frustrations out on the people who abandoned him (dedan, japhet, enoch, and his mother) by breaking the things around him (all of the zones, including his own) without realizing what will actually happen. in the end, it ends up costing hugo everything, including his life.
of course like i said this is NOT the only way to read off. one of the cool things about off is that it’s ambiguous enough that you can read it in a multitude of ways. there are tons of interpretations out there and no one is inherently less correct than the other! this is just my own personal interpretation of it. this got to be way longer than i thought it would be but this was a fun question to think about even if i kinda went off track for a bit

Unit Teambuilding - Halloween Allister
I'm still not over them giving my Gourgeist to Allister.  I'm still so bothered.
General Overview Ghost Support!  Nice.  Love me some supports.  Unfortunately, Gourgeist is...let’s just get into the big discussion point.
Rebuff user.  This means he gets two shots from Trick-or-Treat to apply a -1 Ghost Rebuff on a target foe.  If you stack both, it’s a 50% multiplicative bonus, equivalent to a Zone.  That should, in theory, be really good!  Supports packing options to apply a field effect multiplier are always tremendous thanks to the beautiful role compression, so Allister’s set for life, right?
Sadly, no.  Not even close.  There are three major differences that hold Allister back.  First: to achieve the same Zone-like multiplier, you need to use an attacking move twice, as opposed to once.  As a support, this detracts from the buffing, which you want to start with, and unlike the weather setters, he gets no passives that benefit the team from applying this effect.  So Allister kinda works with units that don’t really need his support, and may not have time to set up his physical defense that’s his only selling point.  Moreover, being as slow as he is, gauges are a huge issue.  If you’re aiming to stack Zone and Rebuffs, you’re dealing with two units who aren’t particularly fast.  And Allister’s attack moves are two-gauge.  Yeah, they couldn’t even give him Astonish.  Just Hex.  That’ll help.
Second: Rebuffs have no MPR.  A Zone can potentially get an extra use, which is enough to clear every phase of a Gauntlet stage easy, usually from the Tech unit’s own nuke if they’re invested in.  Rebuffs can’t do that, and worse, get removed between HP bars, meaning that functionally, they’re just a worse Zone in every way.  You get one stack of 30% on exactly two bars, nothing else.  Sure, they don’t fade, but that was never really a problem to begin with for Zones.  And in CS, these moves are single-target, meaning it’s only applied to one option instead of all of them like a Zone would.
Third: Allister’s a bad support.  X Def All and a trainer move that essentially only gives +3 crit with some minor random chances is not that impressive.  I’d argue Dawn and Jasmine have legitimate claim to doing more than him, considering Dawn’s built-in Vigilance and Power Siphon making her far bulkier, and Jasmine’s trainer move giving crit and stat debuff shield while also packing built-in Endurance.  They even do the same regeneration thing, with Dawn getting Healthy Healing and a Full Restore use on anyone, while Jasmine has continuous regeneration on sync.  Comparatively, Allister doesn’t provide much, as all his healing is locked on himself, and requires attacking.  Which creates the Sycamore problem, where he might survive, but in Gauntlet or CS stages with AoE?  Your allies might not.  And unlike Sycamore, Allister is not a fighter.  If they drop, you’re done.
As an added problem, Allister doesn’t really help the Ghost-type meta.  Anni Lillie and Renegade Cynthia don’t really need his help with buffing, and although they appreciate the Rebuff, Lillie would prefer the Zone and not encountering gauge issues, while Cynthia doesn’t actually need his help at all thanks to having Zone.  He’s okay for Fantina, Shauntal, and Helena if he’s 3/5, but Agatha needs more special attack support than he reasonably offers, and he can’t top off Morty’s attack.  So the whole situation comes up short, because frankly, Renegade Cynthia is just better support with her debuffs and Zone combo.  Allister just can’t match Cynthia’s utility, despite being a dedicated support.
Frankly, I’m floored that people aren’t calling him the worst support this year.  When Summer Hilda came out, everyone was very quick to disparage her as being more like a 2020 unit, but this?  This is so much worse.  Hilda gets both defenses and attack boosting just fine, with an entirely unique skill in Topsy-Turvy, and the ability to debuff defensive stats, which ultimately add up to a better multiplier than a Zone for Gauntlet purposes.  She wasn’t exceptional by any means, but she got more crap than was deserved.  But it feels like Allister’s being carried by the fact that Rebuff is a shiny new toy, and I do not think he’ll weather this storm.
Move Level/EX Needed? Allister’s interesting.  1/5 is workable if all you want is the Rebuff.  I actually think this is fine, since the rest of his kit is kinda lacking.  2/5 offers a lot of defensive utility, in the form of Healthy Healing and Sterner Stuff 2, but it’s nothing essential.  Like most supports, 3/5 is where he really pops off.  All Ramped Up on Hex turns him into a special attack/crit buffer, albeit the worst of them.  Active Healing can combo with Healthy Healing for two layers of gradual recovery, making him nigh-unkillable in physical-oriented fights like Cobalion.  Speaking of, Numbing Blow 9 is guaranteed paralysis, the best status to have for Gauntlet gimmicks, answering Cobalion and Tornadus as well as a partial answer to Uxie.  Basically, it depends on how much you care about his gimmicky options.  Core function, 1/5 is fine.  3/5 is required if you want him to do anything extra.
As for EX, supports are generally the best to EX.  They make great use of the stats, and give double sync buff.  Allister doesn’t strictly need it, though, unless you really want Synchro Healing 1 on his 3/5 grid, but that’s honestly not his best pick.  Realistically, when you have a support like this, offering a Zone-like multiplier for allies, you want those allies using sync to capitalize off the damage.  Allister taking it is just slowing down damage.
Team 1: H!Allister, Anni Lillie I'm actually leaving it at that, but you undoubtedly want speed support too.  H!Allister provides Anni Lillie with great defensive bonuses, while Lillie provides Potion support.  Most notably, Allister can hit a single-target foe with two stages of Ghost-type Rebuff debuff.  Meaning Anni Lillie's Moongeist Beam go big up. She doesn't specifically need it, but it's definitely there as a utility effect.
Team 2: H!Allister, Masked Royal, Nanu Allister's +3 crit means he works pretty well with self-sufficient buffers, like Masked Royal, who works pretty great as a partner here.  Allister can paralyze, fulfilling some Gauntlet conditions, with the potential Flabbergast 2 to even answer Uxie.  Nanu can flinch where applicable, and Masked Royal packs speed buffs with attack debuffs for help Allister's tanking.
Team 3: H!Allister, Hilda, Blaine Allister caps crit for Hilda, whose sync nuke can absolutely blast through Cobalion under Sun.  Allister provides survival for the team, and Hilda packs Potion to keep him alive.
Team 4: H!Allister, Fantina, Helena Ambitious but I'm keeping it.  Fantina has double On a Roll debuff potential, while Helena has her own 90% paralysis rate as well.  Allister's focus is on spamming Hex, which helps them cap out their needed special attack stats after he caps their crit.  After that, it's just tank away. Gauge issues could exist, but because Fantina isn't self-buffing crit, her trainer move is a free maxing out of the move gauge.
Final Thoughts Allister has some interesting applications, but I don't think he's anything particularly exceptional.  A good defensive tank is always nice, just ask Dawn and Jasmine who still see use to this day for me.  I do wish he had a little more on the healing front, but two stacks of passive recovery per attack with First Aid 4 is better than some have gotten.  His real problem is just that rebuffs aren’t as good, and his overall buffing kit feels reminiscent of early game options, rather than something this far along.  If you’re looking between him and Iris, Iris offers better value, and I said she could be safely skipped too.  It’s not a bad idea, since a Villain Arc next month likely means a new Master Fair.

the worst thing about making off theories is that according to mortis ghost apparently the batter is somehow not actually a representation of the Father for hugo which throws a wrench into like 99% if my theories. my current hypothesis is that the batter is a manifestation of hugo’s illness and that he takes the form that he does because hugo associates his father with his own illness but the batter does not actually represent the father. he is the illness destroying hugo and bringing him to his death. i actually have ways i connect this to the post apocalyptic world, the guardians and their zodiacs, the role of zacharie and sugar, and some other stuff but i am tired so i will save that for another day

Ok i know im
Really late to the off fandom but uhm
Theory thing cuz uh i saw a thing about how the batter being hugos father was debunked due to a translation error apparently so idk
OFF SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
What if the batter was just hugo as an adult going into the world that he created as a child due to his trauma of a neglectful and absent mother and sickness and destroying it all to finally cut ties with the trauma associated with a childhood he never had and the inner child he failed to protect and seek justice for
And the queen is just a representation of his mother trying to manipulate him to stay with her, saying shes disappointed in him, that theres nothing else after her, and offering coffee and cake when shes defeated and stating that hugo has the batters eyes and the batter stating that hugos are full of fear, possibly being a nod to the queen (hugos mother) still believing that the batter is still that sickly scared child that she neglected and the batter arguing that hes grown now
And the whole fight with hugo is the batter accepting that he'll never be able to go back to protect his inner child and accepting the reality he lives in now
And the final fight with judge before flipping the switch could be a representation of his inner child seeking the justice it will never be able to get and how hugo and the world he created for himself would see his adult self as a monster who never had control over anything in his life because hes nothing but a puppet being controlled by a puppeteer, being represented as a baseball player much like the villain in the comic book in hugos room
And the whole thing of hugo being the creator of everything and all, the theory could still work out as just being how hugo/the batter makes a caricature of the events that are going on, making an exaggeration of the things he was doing and the things happening in his life
edit: so i found a thing in the wiki
Tumblr media
backs up my thing of batter possibly just being a caricature of adult hugo
also solidifies the fact im literally the batter irl /hj

OFF Theory - The sugar family
This theory might contain spoilers about the game past Zone 0 (yeah it’s quite early) and about Zacharie, Enoch and Sugar.
It might also have been already theorized before, but hey I didn’t write all of this for nothing.
"Zacharie knows Sugar, who requests that The Batter tell him goodbye upon her defeat. He appears saddened by her death, and there is no chuckle when he is talked to. Interestingly enough, he states that "It's probably better that way." It could be said that he was trying to be optimistic about her death, or that he was trying to keep himself calm- as that is all he says about it. This behavior suggests that they were at least friends."      -Official OFF Wiki page of Zacharie, 3.1 Sugar.
Now it's time to pile up things they have in common:
- They are both human.      "Elsens are human, and Sugar too. Enoch and Zacharie also are."                  -References on Zacharie's Wiki page.
- Similar name.      "Zacharie, pronounced with a "hh" sound instead of a "ch", means sugar in greek. > It's absolutely a random coincidence. But if you ask me, I'll say it was part of the plan since the begining."         -References on Zacharie's Wiki page. With an answer from Mortis Ghost.
- They both laugh when talking.
- They both don't see the need to introduce themself or anything for too long.     "He is fully aware that he resides in a video game and may even be bored of this situation, even remarking during his introduction that the characters are "starting to pile up" and that there should be "less dialogue and more action." "     -Official Zacharie Wiki Page, 1.2 Personality.   "Let's not lose any time to useless introductions. Let's dance, my dear friend. :-)"       -Sugar
My theory then is that they are siblings. Sugar is also refusing to shed light on herself, a bit like Zacharie who only lets you know his name and that he's the merchant of the game, not even showing his face.
But there is someone else I only mentioned once in all this that is also human; Enoch.
Enoch is the Guardian of Zone 3, but also the Director of a factory, and not any kind of factory; a sugar factory.
It might just have been a coincidence, but "Sugar's competences all relate to desserts, connecting to the Grand Chocolatier and possibly Enoch."   -Sugar's Official OFF Wiki, 2.1 Competences.
His speech sound also sounds like a very low, slow and slanderous laugh. (As he sees himself as a god of some sort.)
Therefore Enoch might possibly be zacharie and Sugar's father.
Additionally, Zacharie owns a theme park in Zone 2, which implies that he "may have connections with Japhet or The Queen, leading to his acuisition or creation of the Bismark theme park."       -Official Zacharie OFF Wiki page, 4 Trivia. The only way he  could have a connection with Japhet or The Queen would be with the help of a Guardian, in this case, Enoch.
But Zacharie is found everywhere in the map, and Sugar is specifically hidden in Zone 0, nowhere near Zone 3.
Sugar is known to be "broken by the world and withdrawn, as she believes that everything is frightening." And Zacharie knows The Judge, which could lead to the conclusion that he asked The Judge to house Sugar to protect her. As for Zacharie himself, he is self-aware, therefore has pretty much nothing to fear in a way, while Sugar doesn't seem to be self-aware.
Enoch however seems to be self-aware, as in the French version of the game he will say upon fighting him "Game Over is near, Batter" implying that he knows the concept of a Game Over, and since Game Over is capitalized, that he knows he is himself inside a video game.
TL;DR: Zacharie and Sugar are siblings, and Enoch is their father.

Good evening. I’ve fallen back into the OFF rabbit hole and I shall use this opportunity to brutally roast Zacharie(’s neck)
Why is his neck so unbelievably thicc
Tumblr media
Homeboy looks like he mistook leg day for neck day
Everybody draws him all dainty and cute when this bitch is built like a fucking pelican
Why is there so much shading?? To really tune the muscle???? Don’t like that
Motherfucker probably has a normal body but then his neck is just g i r t h
The mask doesn’t exactly help this point either, but his neck alone makes me believe that if I poke him, he’ll start croaking like a toad and--
Tumblr media
Oh.
Oh wait.
