The Solus Choir, also known by some as Death Choir.
The Solus Choir is the tallest and most elusive photon wing, containing the brightest wings. They often flash them to communicate, as well as stun prey and enemies. These decorated golden beasts are known for having loud musical calls, often described as sounding like a pipe organ and singing choir, hence their name.
During breeding season, Choirs gather in large number in mountainous regions to display by singing together. Those who can stay synchronized with the group are considered the most attractive. Occasionally, mechs have accidentally been drawn in by their songs during this time, leading the displaying photon wings to attack the intruder.
Luckily, attacks and deaths are exceedingly rare, as Solus Choirs are often shy creatures, preferring to avoid conflict.
After all of the nests have been made atop of the highest mountain, only one Choir will stay behind to watch over them. Once the young hatch, the adult will leave, as the young are born fully independent.

Baldur’s Gate 3 OCs
My current and favored Tavs
“Freyah Yre” (The Dark Urge), “Solus Aximand”(The War-Forged Monk) & Shaz’zath (The Willful Oathbreaker Githyanki). I shall cherish them always🥹
I have their origins fleshed out a bit, also wanted to post more of Shaz since he’s featured in an upcoming lore snippet with Solus, in events prior to bg3. I’m still touching it up before posting, may add sketched imagery. But for now I thought I’d post these three Tavs to introduce them later on through fanfic writings and illustrations.

Now we can finally be together. Forever.
Meet doctor Solus. He's a charcter in a script I wrote. Perhaps there's something more on the horizon for him? Perhaps he will be returning.

Frigid air froze her skin as she held her lover. It's not like they couldn't feel it, but they were focused on other things at the moment. The dead yet warm body in their arms dragged their mind away from the tears in their suit and the snow and ice freezing their skin. His lover. His wife, held in his arms. Just like any other night, but tonight they were in the snow together. They Were doing their job together just moments ago, but. Something grabbed her, tore her apart in moments. Solus would stare at the mask adorning her wife's face and thank god it didn't look anything like her (only it did. She was in denial.) She would take her Moons face in her hands and she would stare and stare at the weak thing she held in her arms. Her lover, but not anymore. Now, something else, something rotting. Something Solus couldn't allow to exist. She would whisper her lovers name and apologize over and over and over, she didn't protect her, she wasn't fast enough, They wouldn't grow old togther as they promised to, she had to kill her now. Or, what used to be her. Strangely, the crying face Solus held in her hands released the body. Released her lover, still as dead as before. The sound of Reliquo's corpse crushing the snow was faint beneath the wind, and it the movement reminded Solus's of just yesterday when her lover had crashed into her bunk, exhausted from a days work. And yet, she would never wake from this sleep. They would lay in the snow for hours, one hand gripping the last few things their wife left them and the other holding her lover's now freezing hand. That night, Solus retreated back to the ship, half frozen, carrying nothing but a mask, a couple scraps of fabric, and grief.
thank god, she didn't have to kill her. thank god the mask let go. but why did it let go.... why didn't it take me with her.
