there are parallels between ryoma and the criminal that shuichi helped to catch in the past

JUST LET ME EXPLAIN-

okay, so if you recall, near the beginning of the game shuichi explains in the past how a culprit he helped to catch and apprehend was someone who killed out of revenge.

and who else do we know, that killed someone out of revenge for causing the demise of his loved ones? hm? HM??

AND ONE MORE THING-

during both ryoma’s love suite scene and the scene where shuichi explains his backstory the same instrumental track plays- moon on the water.

Exile by Taylor Swift is such a Maiko-coded song. Like, it doesn't get more perfect. Literally every single line of that song fits with Maiko perfectly ugh!!!

The way I'm feeling right now has no solution, no relief. It's like how you want to crush cute things cause there really isn't any response that would deal with the stimulus called cuteness? I'm going crazy because I can't express how much I love this song and I love maiko and sometimes words aren't necessary. Sometimes it's just the vibes and exile is so maiko in vibes—I feel like I've understood a lot of things I feel like throwing up.

It's like Zuko and Aang looking at the dragon flames and understanding firebending. I listen to exile and it's just—maiko in my head...just pictures and vibes and feels. No words apart from the ones in the song and they fit, okay?

contrahero headcanon for your troubles

hero went to smitten for advice on wooing contra, and smitten, among other things, taught hero the language of the flowers for the purpose of 'divulging the depths of his heart with an age-old art of secrecy and romance'.

hero isn't quite sure it's all that but gives contrarian bouquets anyway, each with unique and lovely meanings, left anonymously for them to find. It hasn't occurred to hero yet that contra doesn't actually know the language of the flowers and therefore can't interpret them, but contrarian does know that flowers are flowers, and that someone must be leaving them for them.

They haven't figured out who they're from yet, but finding new ones makes them smile every time. Smitten watches with binoculars from a distance and just about dies every time he sees the message hero left. He doesn't know contra doesn't get it and so he's very confused why contrarian hasn't yet proposed to this dashing young knight
