Cult of the Lamb x Tall! Reader who loves giving piggyback rides. Headcanons.

The Lamb, Narinder, Leshy, Heket, Shamura & Kallamar.

(this will be with the bishops in follower form because i dont really think it would be possible to pick them up in their bishop forms).

Narinder

General:

He had returned from a crusade with the lamb, his legs were hurting a bit, but he didn't pay much attention to it.

Someone else did though. He was not happy when he was lifted up into the air, out of nowhere.

Narinder can and will try anything to make you put him down, but upon realizing you're not putting him down, he accepts defeat.

When he suddenly gets put down on a bed, he realized that you probably somehow knew that his legs were hurting, and just wanted him to get some rest.

He will thank you, before asking you to leave.

Romantic:

Ngl he definetly enjoys the piggyback rides, as long as he initiates them.

If not then he will likely shout something along the lines of ''Put me down! I will not tolerate- oh its just you. Put me down please''.

Will purr lightly when recieving piggyback rides.

Can and will kiss the top of your head while up on your shoulders.

He enjoys cuddeling your back if you can't / dont want to have him up on your shoulders.

Loves the feeling of being big again. even if not as big as he used to be.

He will ask you to ensure that the lamb isnt around if you pick him up. He already got defeated by the lamb, he doesn't need to have them see him being given piggyback rides.

Heket

General:

I don't even know how you even picked her up in the first place to be honest.

Definetly enjoys them as long as people don't really see it.

Does kind of like it if you just carry her to the kitchen or just bring her food.

Also likes the feeling of being slightly bigger then everyone else, but the thought of how she looks alone is enough to turn her away for a majority of the time.

It reminds her of before she got slain by the lamb so she does find some joy in being carried around.

Romantic:

Heket does become a whole lot more fond of being given piggyback rides once you're in a relationship with her.

She will do anything to avoid you picking her up infront of the other ex-bishops (especially Leshy because he likely wont stop teasing her if he finds out).

Will probably ask you to take her somewhere if she doesn't feel like walking.

I feel like she has tried to jump onto your back atleast once.

She will kiss you one way or another whenever you pick her up.

Leshy

General:

I don't even know if its possible to give Leshy piggyback rides considering that, well, he's a worm.

He will try and wiggle out of your grasp if you pick him up.

Once he realizes that now he's far above everyone else, he feels happy, untill you or someone else, reminds him that he is currently being carried on your shoulders.

unless you hold him in place he can and will fall off you, unless he wraps around you like a scarf.

Romantic:

If you don't pick him up, he's definetly gonna try and slither onto you just so he can be on your shoulders, or somehwere else on you.

Makes for a very nice and alive scarf for the winter.

He will be cuddling you while he's wrapped around you in one way or another.

If its cold, he's basically glued to you.

He will ask you to just carry him sometimes.

Kallamar

General:

He is terrified when you first pick him up.

He's going through every single possibility as for why you would pick him up, and none of them are good.

Lowkey will have an anexiety attack if you don't tell him why you picked him up out of nowhere.

If you do it to him while he looks uncomfortable and bring him somewhere he can be alone for a bit he will probably try to thank you.

He is nervous so if you sense something is up and you go pick him up and take him somewhere to comfort him he's gonna be getting very close to you.

Romantic:

If he feels uncomfortable he can and will look for you.

You have become a safe space with the addition of maybe some cuddles.

Loves being picked up by you, makes him feel like he's not gonna get hurt.

Kallamar will hug you constantly while being given a piggyback ride.

He doesn't want to go back down once you pick him up, he has to though but he's not too happy about (too scared to really complain though).

if you're not gonna have him on your shoulders he'd likely prefer to be carried facing the front of you rather then your back. Mainly because he's scared he's gonna be attacked without you noticing.

Shamura

General:

Shamura was probably curious at first about what this ''piggyback ride'' thing you were talking about was.

Immidietly after you pick them up they get confused.

Just one moment ago you guys were talking, and now they're on your back.

Once you explain what piggyback rides are and why people give them, Shamura immidietly calms down, now knowing why they're currently on your back / shoulders.

Might rest their head on your head depending on how close they are to you and or if they're on your shoulders

Romantic:

Shamura will give you small kisses on top of your head whenever they're recieving piggyback rides.

If they have a feeling that they forgot that they needed to be somewhere, they'll go to you because you usually know.

If it wasn't for their injury, they would've given you piggyback rides as well.

They have read a book atleast once while sitting on your shoulders.

The Lamb / Lambert

General:

The Lamb had been on many crusades before, usually coming back un-injured.

Allthough one day in particular after a crusade they had gotten a somewhat bad leg injury.

You along with many other followers came up to see what was wrong. You being more then happy to carry your leader, gave the lamb a piggyback ride to the infirmary.

Once out of the infirmary they saw you carrying children around via piggyback rides as well

They definetly are curious as for why you're so willing to give people piggyback rides.

Will ask you about it one day, curious if you viewed them kind of like a child that day they had the leg injury.

Romantic:

The lamb loves recieving piggyback rides.

Whenever they return from a crusade uninjured and if nobody needs them at the moment, they will immidietly go to you, maybe ask you for a walk (mainly because if their legs get tired they can just ask for a piggyback ride).

Would give you piggyback rides if you werent as tall.

They love cuddling with you as you just walk around with them.

I imagine that their legs have been sore for some reason atleast once on a day where they had to perform a cermone so they just asked you if they could sit on your shoulders for the duration.

Okay I just HAD to devote the full Alibert inn scene from episode 5 here CUZ WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT YUGO GOING BACK TO EMELKA!! I know I already mentioned Chibi and Grougal (as well as the tree Tofu tower) in part 1 but part 2 will basically be about all the rest of the inn scene cuz tumblr couldn’t let me have more than ten images per post (I know the site apparently lets u have more but I always use the phone for it so shush.)

But first, we finally get to see Alibert again after all those years 💕

Alibert. Sweetie. Baby. You can take care of two (technically four) kids with the addition of a freaking INN, you COOK for the customers, AND, ON TOP OF ALL THAT, you’re the MAYOR of EMELKA, that same place where you run the inn and take care of your adopted sons.

You do much more than just “taking care of an inn”, you got three jobs AND you’re still sane. You’re three in one, a whole package, props to you king. He’s such a boss ass man I love him 💕💕

Okay now the next part of the Alibert inn scene is very important to me so listen.

Recently, I came scrolling on @moths-are-better’s recent posts about Yugo and I came up on the one where he drinks the “milk” that was in the cup in the scene below.

But like-

@moths-are-better STOP LYING TO YOURSELF THIS IS CLEARLY WINE!!!

Look at all the other people drinking in the inn before they left: they all had that same kind of cup, insinuating that they were drinking wine (and also cuz they confirmed it was wine while trying to avoid any possible future inflations with Alibert).

I just love how Ankama deliberately shows us small scenes like this to remind us that Yugo can do adult things even though he looks like a kid. Because THIS is one of those scenes! Just look at how Alibert quietly pulls the cup of wine away from Yugo as soon as the guy starts ranting about his problems.

That’s clearly not milk lol I just love your delusions @moths-are-better 💕💕

But not only did this scene made me realize that nothing can stop Yugo from doing adult things despite how he looks, it also helped me realize that Yugo is the type to only drink when he’s having problems. We clearly see him about to drink more while ranting to Alibert before he carefully pulls the wine away from Yugo cuz he KNOWS Yugo would drink more just for that.

That level of attention to detail is amazing and I’m so glad I managed to catch up to the hints early on.

Alibert be looking like Yugo’s bartender AND therapist in just that moment alone lol

Ngl I would’ve loved to see a drunk Yugo if he had been able to drink more before Alibert intervened.

His caring and calming attitude towards Yugo and the way he just treats him, cares for him, and acts like a responsible parent during all these years really makes me wanna do the same thing someday. Alibert is so good at his job(s) that he’s even beating a freaking goddess. Let that sink in. (actually any good parent like Alibert would beat the Eliatrope goddess’ parenting easily lol)

Alibert is genuinely so sweet, patient, thoughtful, and understanding of Yugo. Like even though he just heard Yugo say he finally found his true family, Alibert doesn’t take his words as insults and would rather just let him spill out all of his words to him.

When I said I missed these two like this, I really meant it. This inn is not only where Yugo was raised in but it’s also Yugo’s comfort place.

My ass knows this is foreshadowing.

Her old outfit was so cool, no tie, sleeveless shirt, gloves, tied jacket, it showed personality so well.

Yandere! Kunikuzushi x fem!reader. Some smut.

This is something little I wrote more for myself because I am feeling insecure, especially about my writing. It's 4:30am for me, and I tail spun hard into Kuni brain rot about an hour ago lol. And I wanted to give a little bit of a model on what my Yandere! requests would look or sound like when I snap to answer them and wanted to test myself a little. Please enjoy. This was a little self indulgent, ngl.

It only took Kunikuzushi a few weeks to have everything about you memorized and photographically cataloged in his head.

Every little thing you did, well, he thought it was magic. He had every mannerism memorized, especially the way you smiled at him when you gave him headpets and called him cute. He craved headpets and praise from you.

The way you walked, your stride confident, even and perfectly spaced. He even knew how long your stride was, not really understanding how he was able to calculate it with a moments glance.

There was one habit in particular that would make him mentally tap his chin for hours while he tried to figure it out. You would rarely ever look in a mirror. You even told him that you could brush your hair going only by touch. He thought you were a genius because of that, by the way. He couldn't comprehend why you wouldn't like mirrors. You were most beautiful person he'd ever seen.

Kunikuzushi always followed you like a shadow, waiting, counting the seconds until you glanced over your shoulder at him, asking him to catch up so you could talk to him better. He loves the sound of your voice. It was the most beautiful, soothing sound he'd ever heard. He would listen to you talk all day if you let him, resting his head in your lap, smiling as he played with your hair.

He loved your hair. It was soft, long and, silky. He didn't understand when you said you hated it when your hair curled slightly on the ends sometimes when it dried. He would occasionally (very often) asked you if he could braid it.

Kunikuzushi would watch you outside your windows for hours. He didn't care if you were sleeping, doing chores, or reading. He wanted to watch you. Breathe in the sight of you as thoroughly as he could.

Even though you were strong and capable, you were also vulnerable and he needed to protect you because you lived alone in Inazuma. Everyday he would go your parent's graves and thank them for giving birth to you. Why won't you just ask him to live with you permanently? He already was constantly over at your house. You would always lean out your window and tell him, "I don't mind if you stand there and watch me, Kuni, but you can come inside anytime you like." His heart leapt the highest when you did that.

He thought you would be horrified when you caught him watching you touch yourself one night. But you didn't and he loved you even more for that. And he didn't think that was possible. You always amazed him in a new way everyday.

When he finally got the nerve to ask you if he could sex with you, you said yes. He loved that you were blushing because he could feel his cheeks flushed the same way.

Kunikuzushi would spend hours into the night doing foreplay alone, marking your skin in deep, possessive love bites as he explored and learned about your body. He committed every sensitive place on a map in his head instantly. He wanted you to corrupt him.

So he then could in turn do the same to you. He would great care in leaning what you liked. He was determined to mold you exactly to his tastes. You were already perfect for him. His soulmate. But corrupting you would make you more perfect for him.

ok quick thoughts, spoilers behind the cut.

Pros:

Halle. HALLE. H a l l e. Her voice, her face, her mannerisms. They took what made Ariel special in the animated movie and built on it and she was the perfect person to pull it off.

Her beauty was distracting.

So glad they finally got a singer for a live action, I couldn’t take another B&B autotuned disaster.

Made me want to get to the nearest rock and play mermaid ngl.

I had my doubts with Jonah but he did a great job with Eric, played the shy, kinda awkward potato prince charming to perfection. Loved that they expanded his backstory and his interest in adventure and the sea. Also A+ for the movie knowing he had a white shirt on while surrounded by water and using every chance it had to drench him.

Eric still being caring and worried about Ariel even under Ursula’s spell? 10/10 no notes.

He came to chew bubblegum and be dreamy and he was all out of bubblegum.

Halle and Jonah’s chemistry was insane, I need them to do ten movies making eyes at each other.

Seriously the movie could have been 2 hours of them interacting in that library and it would have been money well spent.

Part of Your World and all reprises were ofc gorgeous. Vanessa’s Trick is haunting and exactly what one would want for a siren song. For the First Time is gorgeous and underrated, felt very Broadway-esque. Eric’s song was corny but in a good way.

The rest of the songs are adequate but are not as good as the original ones.

Gotta said, song aside, the Kiss the Girl scene was more endearing in this version. When she helps him figure out her name?

Melissa was good as Ursula and made the character her own, though I think she was not as scary as she could have been. Better than I expected, though.

The actress that plays Vanessa knew she had 5 minutes to make an impression and used them to the fullest. Delightful.

Cons:

The CGI felt unfinished and so did the color grading/lighting. I edited all the movie images in this post (just played with the saturation and the contrast) and I’m mediocre at best. HIRE TUMBLR EDITORS, DISNEY.

Halle deserved to wear more outfits, I can't believe Disney missed an opportunity to sell more dolls. Would have given her a dress for each day on land and the water dress. Mouse, I thought you liked money.

we could have had it all

Wanted more of her sisters tbh. And less Triton, Javier phoned it in imo. I know Triton and Ariel’s relationship is an important part of the original movie but idk if it was his half assed acting or me wanting more of the sisters, but I wasn’t moved.

Flounder's weird character design was saved by his stellar voice actor and Sebastian grew on me, he was hilarious. Scuttlefina was tolerable but gosh she’s always playing the same character, stop casting her in everything.

Less I say about Scuttlebutt the better. Kids are probably gonna love it, though.

The ending was kinda weird? It felt rushed and the battle with Ursula was disappointing. Which is a surprise because the OTHER stormy scene at night was wonderfully done. 

Up to Ursula taking Ariel back to the ocean it felt really cohesive but the second Triton appears to save her it was like they were trying to speed things up and it got... weird.

Didn’t mind Ariel being the one that killed Ursula, after everything she put her through.

Cannot believe the movie robbed us of Jonah screaming “I lost her once, I’m not gonna lose her again!”

Overall it was a well paced (up to the finale), entertaining, charming movie. Despite its faults, the only Disney live action I want to rewatch (outside MAYBE Cinderella).

8/10 Justice for the foam dress.

INSOMNIA & STRESS with Sevika

Sevika can't sleep very well, so Reader does their best to help her. I need more soft shit ngl.

• Sevika is used to keeping things to herself, so her not being able to fall asleep is something no one knows, even you. She will play it off like she slept fine, and that you haven't got to worry.

• It could also depend on what time she gets home. She was all over the place half the time.

• Smoking even more is something that happens, especially if she already knows that she's not going to get any rest. Prepared for the night of utter stress.

• You weren't stupid. You knew there was something wrong. You could tell she wasn't 100% herself.

• To find somewhat peace during the night, she lays there next to you. Just to listen to your quiet snores and the ramble of random words. "Demon shit" she always called it, but still felt at ease.

• There were nights when she couldn't run away to show she was fine.

• It was always an hour after she got home. 2am on the dot, every. single. night. You would hear the tired, annoyed groan leave her lips and you would instantly be awake with her.

• If you question or push her too much to ask if she's alright, she will feel too restricted in the moment. She will either feel claustrophobic or annoyed. You've made the mistake of asking too many questions before, but now you knew how to approach her.

• Carefully placing your hand on her tense shoulder was the first thing you always did. Just to give her the sign that you aren't here to hurt her. If she relaxed, you would just rub slowly.

• Sometimes it just made her more tense.

• "You've been like this for a few weeks Vika, what's the matter?"

• It took a while for you to even get a response. Just her heavy breathing was your answer. You worried about her, even more when she was so silent.

• "Can't ever sleep"

• Now Sevika wasn't a big fan of sappy crap. Even a hug makes her panic. Yet whenever you wrapped your arms around her neck, she felt safe.

• Would still try her hardest not to bother you. Even though you continue to tell her that her feelings and emotions are valid and that you just want to make sure she's okay. Sevika was a softie with you but still found it hard to open up to you.

• She didn't mind if you sat there, holding her.

• Wasn't a big fan of sweet drinks, but you always made hot chocolate. It was something that helped you a lot, so maybe this would relax her just a little if you made it for her.

• If that doesn't work, your next big plan would be to just continue to hold her and listen if she needs to get something off her chest.

• Being the sweet thing she is, would end up either messing with your hands or just getting you to talk. She loved hearing you talk, and adored listening to your voice.

• Sometimes she needed extra comfort and would push herself to rest her head on your lap. Again, she wasn't one for sap but on nights like these, she was.

• Loves when you play with her hair, and when you would pat her head. The small things you did, made her feel safe here.

• After a while, she will eventually open up to you. Not fully, but she will talk about some of the things that are causing her to not be able to sleep.

• And you listen.

• Reassuring her that "you're doing everything you can" or "You're allowed to feel lost" sometimes she will understand, but other times she just feels angry at herself than anything. So you keep telling her, that everything will be okay and that you're here, always if she needs you.

• "Thank you, and thank you for not leaving"

• Sevika is definitely bottling up all her emotions until nights like these happen. There were days she could handle it, but the days you just held her, made her more emotional and vulnerable. She loved that you cared.

• Being wrapped up in your arms was what helped her to rest. Listening to you talk is what calmed her down. Being with you is what made her safe.

• "I love you, Sugar"

• is the one who introduced the game.

• Teaches the princes how to play

• tortures them when possible.

Toa and Guy:

• Wizards, because MC punked them.

• Convinced them they were the most powerful class at higher levels, neglected to inform them that they start with fuck all health.

• “Here’s this: if you’re so smart, why don’t you play a mundane who has to study magic? Humans play this class all the time, I bet you can’t handle it…”

• “You bet??? YOu BET?? Very well, speak less” *gets hit once, almost dies from 7 points of damage*

• Guy demands the opportunity to change his class, MC responds: “Okay! I’ll let you change your class— and everyone else will get the chance to multi class :)”

Toa: “multi… class?”

MC: “Oh, it’s when you get to reap the benefits of your character occupying two classes at once :)”

Guy grumbles, and falls into a stony silence.

• the two *barely* survive levels 1-3, but somehow they pull through. And suddenly, outside of game, they’ve started acting with a little more respect for those not magically gifted…

Fenn: Paladin.

• Still charisma based, so can still rizz and charm like Fenn is used to.

• But playing as a Paladin also serves as wish fulfillment, because that’s what DND is all about.

• You might be thinking, “A paladin?? But Fenn should be a Bard, it’s so clearly the best fit”. And I get you! But that’s exactly it— Fenn is already a Bard in his real life. Playing as one in game does nothing special for him. There’s no escapism, no fantasy. Here, he can be a knight in shining armor, upstanding and righteous, and all the other things not typically associated with Fenn. All the other things people don’t let him be, that his reputation prevent him from ever really achieving. Here, he can basically role play as Greyson. And honestly, who wouldn’t?

Roy: Bard.

• Again, the name of the game is DND Wish Fulfillment. Roy looks up to Guy, who’s attribute is charisma. What class is based on that stat again? BARD. And now, Roy doesn’t have to be morally upstanding and perfect and unsoiled. He gets to be a little shit and enjoy it.

Lynt: I have no idea, NGL, but I’m thinking warlock.

• This is basically a DND joke— if you don’t know, warlocks have like, two spell slots. So if they want to cast more spells, they need to recharge, which is basically some form of rest.

• Don’t let this fool you, warlocks can be fucking BUSTED. Those two/three spell slots, they put them to fucking WORK. But they gotta get their rest in, dawg.

• in this way, they remind me of our sleepy boy. Quietly powerful as hell, but really only fuck around if they HAVE to. Otherwise, they kind of just mind their business.

Rio: Barbarian

• one of the easier classes to start with— and I know they’re ALL just starting, and I love Rio, but he can use the training wheels. Ain’t no shame in that.

• he approaches life in a way that’s very similar to barbarians: in a story, when Toa was telling him he was trying to put too much magic through too small an opening, Rio’s response was “oh, I know what to do! That just means I need to use EVEN MORE magic!” Like, shit, go off king.

• unlike some of the other princes, I don’t think he would be adverse to using melee over magic.

Lance: Rogue/Druid RANGER

• Lance gets to multi class because 1. I’m biased, and 2. I can see arguments for both classes.

• you may be thinking, “but shaaky, he’s the prince of wrath! His kingdom’s main export is mercenaries, ffs. Shouldn’t HE be a barbarian, or at least a fighter?” And again, I hear you! But, you gotta remember the magic words! Say em with me: “DND is wish fulfillment”. Lance fucking HATES how his kingdom is ran. That’s like, 80% of his story. He wouldn’t WANT to play a character built like that. Unless… it was for the people.

• correct me if I’m wrong, but Lance is the only prince who knows what it’s like to be poor. Not just a commoner, like actually destitute. He’s probably the prince with the most street smarts. And lowkey, he’s probably had to steal shit to survive at some point. He 1000% would ace the rogue class, and would probably stun the princes while he did it.

• Lance: “I loot the body”

Toa: “pardon?”

Lance: “I slit the guards throat, he fell over prone. I loot the body, for whatever valuables are on his person.”

MC: “make an investigation check”

Lynt: “…😨”

• Druid is there if he wanted to just fuck around and hang with animals.

• RANGER, oh my GOD ranger is RIGHT THERE, how did I miss that—

• Ranger is basically the flavor you get when you mix rogue and druid together, so it makes sense that it would fit Lance

• the man fucks off to the forest first chance he gets, everytime.

• just give him a bow already— he probably knows how to use it given his Ira background

• it’s the final battle, the other princes are up against the BBEG: Toa and Guy are on the brink of death, Roy and Rio are down, Fenn and Lynt are barely hanging in there— and then out of nowhere, a hissing noise rings out above everybody, followed by a sickening thwa-CHUNK. An arrow has lodged itself smack dab between the BBEG’s eyes, he falls over, dead. From 600 yards away, Lance’s character stands up, says “finally”, and leaves.

Other silly little head canons:

• instead of maps, MC uses magic to generate basically holograms of bosses and character minis.

The holograms move. So when the giant beast bellows, I mean it literally bellows, claws out and spittle flying and everything. More than once have the princes jumped back in their seats, genuinely scared by the images she generated.

Toa, traumatized: “Remember when I said you had no imagination?… I take it back. I take it all back…”

Guy, thinking to himself: if she ever did go evil on us, we’d be fucked…

• MC will call them on it if the princes lapse out of character.

MC will remind them their characters are, in some way very starkly, different from themselves, and for the story, those differences matter.

Guy: “what do you mean, he said he wouldn’t let us past?”

Mc shakes her head, does an accent: “gainst the rules, boy. Can’t be doing that”.

“Against the—?! You will LET ME PAST, you insolent mongrel—”

Mc: “roll to intimidate.”

Guy: “roll?”

Mc: “I’m sure, being a huffy prince of a powerful kingdom and all, demanding stuff usually works for you. But might I remind you, your highness— that you are playing a game. and in this game, your character is a scrawny, bookish sapling of a man who weighs about a third as much as the guard you’re talking to, and is around half his height. Tell me, what’s your charisma modifier?”

Guy frowns, but looks through his character sheet.

Guy: “… negative one?”

MC smiles: “Your character has the charisma of dragon piss filled boot. Which means you need a 16 or higher, otherwise this guard is going to laugh in your face and pat you on the head.”

Guy stares at MC, but says nothing.

Mc: “Now, your wisdom modifier?”

Guy: “what?”

Mc: “your wisdom modifier, what is it?”

He checks his sheet again.

Guy: “… it’s a positive 4.”

Mc: “you’re right, it is. Which is a hell of a lot better than a negative one. So, while it may not be intuitive, you’re going to be much more likely to convince this man to let you through if you utilize a wisdom based approach, as opposed to relying on charisma.”

Toa snorts: “what would you know of wisdom?”

Mc: “might I remind you that being an asshole is not listed as one of your character’s traits? Also, your character is currently otherwised engaged, trying not to die from missing the last step on the staircase. As such, you can’t hear this exchange.”

• Eventually, after getting familiar with the games mechanics, the princes do a campaign where they get isakied to Earth.

MC throws a lot of mundane shit at them, and they absolutely flounder trying to make any sense of it.

Guy: “Peanut butter?? What do you mean he’s allergic to peanut butter, what the devil is that??? Epipen??!”

Lynt, confused: “Almond milk?… how do they…?”

Toa: “I assure the woman that I am not, in fact, “tripping”, as she so claims. The floor is clear and level, and there are no staircases in sight.”

Fenn: “what do you mean he’s 63??? Good Creator, how long are humans lives again? Wasn’t it at least a 1000 years?…”

I really enjoyed this episode! Without spoilers, it felt like the 911 that we all love a-la season 3 kinda feeling. The characters felt connected rather than disconnected like they were in season 6 and some in season 5. The 911 calls were the perfect length, nothing lingered unnecessarily, again unlike in season 6 where that was an issue. And I really enjoyed the theme of relationships, romantic relationships in particular, and examining if the relationship is healthy or perhaps going stagnant.

🌟 Now on to my Spoiler Thoughts for 7x1 in no particular order. 🌟

-Marisol was legit on screen for maybe 3 seconds, and Eddie even mentioning her was to say “oh I’m dating a woman.” We really got nothing from it beyond, to me at least, some cringe. That’s it. 😆 Bruh, this is really giving “yeah she won’t be around that long,” cause she wasn’t presented as particularly important. 

- Marisol was helping chaperone Chris’s date? Ngl that’s a bit weird if she and Eddie haven’t been dating long, but perhaps that’s just me. I’m so curious how Chris even feels about Marisol. Does he think, “Doesn't matter, she probably won’t stay”?? Does Chris only like Marisol because it seems to make Eddie happy, but that’s the extent? So curious.

- Omg Eddie wants Bucks to talk to Chris, a player apparently, because at one time Buck was one. Like father, like son. 

- Again loved this theme of couples just seeing if they’re doing well, are they stagnant, and just what’s important to them. 

- Oh gosh, Chris sees that no matter how nice or good you are, he thinks the girl will still leave. Like his mom. Godddd. </3 And this also shows that Chris still thinks highly of his dad. He sees that his dad is a good guy, but women in his life still leave. Goddddddd.

- Bye Natalia, you will not be missed. Buck and Natalia broke up off screen because “all she wanted to talk about was death.” And thus I liked Eddie’s comment to Buck, “Welcome back to the living.” Indeed!

- I’m into this exploration of Bobby and Athena seeing what they are “without all the chaos.” Poor Bobby he was trying so hard with Athena on this cruise, being so patient. And don’t think I didn’t miss his heavy implication of, “we can just stay in bed the rest of the time ;)).”

- Soooo much Eddie on my screen THANK GOD. 💕💕💕

- Sooo much Buck and Eddie! Together! Being friends and helping each other out in parenting!!!

- Hen being one hell of a captain. 💕

- All three parents - Eddie, Buck, and Shannon - sitting in the same spot on Chris’s bed. 🫠

- I’d been wondering for so long about Chris’s thoughts about Shannon. So he did recognize that she left. Based on him reading the letter and standing the picture back up, I’m guessing…. he’s at peace now about his mom? Or getting there??

- Honestly I loved the hot tub 911 call where Eddie was so compassionate about calming down the woman. It was a funny scene, but not cringey. Ryan and the actress played it with such sincerity that it worked. 

- This episode was definitely a good intro for new viewers. It shows the Buckley-Diaz family of it all, Buck and Eddie with a very close friendship, Hen in a captain role, Chimney and Maddie and their upcoming marriage talk, Shannon and who she is to Eddie and Chris, Buck is single, Eddie is dating but you really don’t need to know more about the who fghjhkb, and how close the 118 are. 

- There were quite a few callbacks to episodes in seasons 2 and 3, which was so neat to see. 

- Shirtless Eddie….  🫠 Buck saw it too mmmmm.  🫠 - Maddie and Chimney were so cute. =)))

- This whole pirates or whatever they are taking over the cruise ship story is fun! Can’t wait to see how it continues to play out.  - Eddie is a nester. Hmmmm. And Buck pointing out - something about he and Shannon barely dating before she got pregnant and boom! Marriage.

- Buck and Eddie being battle boyfriends. 😌💕

fr tho I want to know all the soul design lore how did you create such a creature /vpos

OKOKOHHHHHHOKOK BUCKLE IN. YOU’RE GONNA GET THE FULL DESIGN PROCESS

I struggled the most with Soul ngl. I couldn’t really think of anything I could add that would differentiate him from the fanon standard. I’m a lil upset I couldn’t think of something more original, but nonetheless he turned out quite lovely !!!

I started with the color picking. I was very insistent on making everyone’s colors proportional to eachother. The main colors should have (about) the same saturation/brightness, contrasting colors that are the exact opposite hue of the main color, respective black/grey/white values (soul’s ‘grey’ color is more teal bc color theory but yea), shit like that i guess. The final palette is on the right, it’s what I use today.

Soul never got fully fleshed out concept sheets like the other two. I guess my brain just filled in the rest of the gaps without having to draw them. (I apologize for never finishing these btw. It’s been months man. I hope the blorbo doodles in the corner make up for it) The second image was done a lot later than the first btw. Idk if that matters but I’m bringing it up anyway.

His fit inspo came mostly from Pinterest. I just compiled a bunch of shit I think he’d wear. Plus a majestic cape because it makes him look plenty more epic.

OK MOVING ON. I decided that his main gimmick would be my take on his shaded side. The idea was to make it represent dissonance, and how it affects Soul. The shadow is basically just this fuckin void. It has no physical form, and you can just stick your hand in there if you’d like (he sometimes stores the trident there). However I wouldn’t recommend it. The feeling is indescribable, but very uncomfortable. The void has a life of it’s own in a way. It does not stay confined within the Soul’s physical form (or in my case, his lineart). When conflict is at a high, like, tridential regicide level high, the void will get very close to fully overtaking him. It only fully disappears once true concord is reached, and starts reforming when the next cycle starts.

Also, the mask !!!!! Throughout cacophony, Soul is having a huge fucking identity crisis and shit. He doesn’t really have a physical organ like the other two. He doesn’t know why he’s here, or what he did to deserve this, or why nothing he’s trying works, and just. What is he if he’s failing at his main purpose???? I think because of this, he doesn’t like showing his face around the other two. He needs to assert is power, and thinks that showing his face will make him come of softer and less of someone to obey, if that makes sense. He only really takes it off when he’s alone in his room or pocket dimension (still trying to decide if they have a mock ‘apartment’, or ever did at one point). But once he has the character arc in Two Wuv, it permanently comes off !!! Wahoo!!!!!!! If only the next cycle weren’t to start, resetting his newfound self image to its previous state !!!!!!!!!!

This image was very helpful for designing the tine shapes!! Guess which one is Soul’s !!!!!! (Spoiler alert, im pretty sure its either the 2nd or 6th ones in the 2nd row. However i genuinely dont remember. This may not even be the right image)

Soul also has a strange tie with eyes. If the halves have pissed him off to the point of no return, he does this fuckin analog horror stare that freaks the shit out of them (although heart cant see he remembers it very well. Plus, he just k n o w s that extra eye is there). I haven’t really played around with this, but I like the idea of a freakishly absurd amount of eyes hidden within the shadow. I should maybe like. Draw that sometime.

Also, expect a Soil patch update in the future!! I’d like to make his fangs more deranged, and maybe add an earth pattern to the cape. Right now, he has no symbols on him that represent him in the astronomy metaphor.

yellow house:

jungwon

this house is full of leaders and so of course jungwon is here. not the college dorm president but head of the dorm events committee and he does a damn good job every time. everyone loves his events and he’s always receptive to feedback to make it better. outside of his leadership role, everyone in his house babies him because he’s cute but they all still respect his drive to get the job done. though he’s an overall college dorm leader and not a house leader, the house captains usually depend on him for advice from an outside perspective. in my prime this house was my second favourite (besides my own hehe). he’s always studying in the student lounge and gets disturbed by the rest of the boys from time to time.

purple house:

heeseung

ranked first place college dorm eye candy. obviously he’s basketball team captain but also dabbles in a bunch of other sports as well (annoyingly good at all of them). performs once in a while at the showcase or open mic events, either as lead singer or pianist in a band. he was quiet and unassuming when he first entered but the minute alcohol entered his system at his first drinking session his housemates started to realise how insane and goofy this man was. is the life of the party. everyone always knows when he’s otw to the club cos he’s already bright red from pregaming alone. has his whole pc set-up on his desk, got noise complaints from yelling too loudly while gaming in first year. most probably vapes.

jaeyun

this house is the party house. hence why jaeyun is house captain. okay no but genuinely i think he has house captain vibes is it just me. mr fast reflexes plays dodgeball competitively and i take no arguments on that, i just think he’ll be hella good for that and football but it’s kinda a dead sport in my dorm so we don’t talk about it. football would probably be him just fucking around with his friends while dodge is something he’ll take more seriously. he’s a kind hearted softie who’s always ready to give advice to those who need it which is why he got voted as house captain but also always down to have a good fucking time which is also why he got voted. drinks most often but is extremely lightweight and somehow always hitting the club with his housemates every wednesday.

riki

i honestly debated where to put riki cos i felt that he would fit in anywhere but this house has the best dancers and therefore he is here. future dance captain, did his first open style choreo class like 6 weeks into the semester and everyone died because it was so hard but also the choreography was so good. legendary first year choreographer for showcase, does kpop performances for fun and gets the loudest cheers when he’s in the center. so ya he’s still and always will be the dance prodigy. doesn’t play sports much but got convinced to play basketball for inter-house championship (and the house won obviously with these three on the team LOL), busier with the uni wide dance team ngl.

red house:

sunoo

house with the most TEA. and i just know sunoo is the best gossiper out there. social butterfly, gambles as a social event more than liking the game itself. always signing up for a performance event whether he’ll be singing or dancing or BOTH LOL. if you ever need someone in your item, you look for him. this house is the house that is very active but keeps within themselves the most but sunoo is the one who basically has friends from every house while still keeping the close knit vibe. the boys drinking and tea spilling sess goes crazy i know, and he always has the most detailed stories. probably knows everything about everyone. marketing head of the students committee because he just connections everywhere. very well liked and very resourceful, also probably down for supper if you asked.

blue house:

not me putting my biases in MY house. okay but for good reason. also house captain like jaeyun and they giggle like besties every time the house captains meet up to discuss things even when it’s serious (totally not based on my real life friendships) more serious and straightforward and he will get shit done no questions asked. (he’s here because he reminds me of my senior LMAO.) the one unafraid of calling others out on their bullshit when they don’t do their jobs properly. loves his house deeply, fiercely and openly and tries his best to make sure that everyone feels safe and accounted for which is the house culture he wants to maintain. never pushes any one to win things, would rather they have fun instead. his silly side comes out more with his close friends because he feels the need to maintain an image around others. ate up the hiphop item at the showcase though. sings casually when he can too. dedicated house shef and his housemates are always lined up for his food cause it tastes way better than what the dining hall serves.

sunghoon

second place college dorm eye candy. only after seung because he chooses to be less visible. the type of pretty face that people look at but no one dares to actually pursue him. the house gives him the ability to the loud and crazy person he is while also having the down time for himself to recharge. always at the gym, basically has his own regular gym booking time slot. the protein powder in the pantry is most definitely his. makes 02z pose for gym thirst traps on ig story with him. no interest in joining any dorm committee but knows all the drama that goes down because he’s friends with basically the entire student government body. illegally owns a fridge also illegally the dorm alcohol supplier. gets dragged along to the club once in a while if jaeyun is really persistent, it’s when his craziest side jumps out. likes to tease jongseong in the house group chat while still being a massive team player and his best confidant.
