Bacardi is paying taxes to Putin which help him buy missiles to blow up maternity hospitals, schools, and apartment buildings in Ukraine.
If Bacardi can't quit Vladimir, pro-democracy people should quit Bacardi.
Ukraine’s national anti-corruption agency added Bacardi Limited to its list of international war sponsors, citing the company’s continued business and tax payments in Russia. In its announcement Thursday, Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) claimed the Bermudian spirits company is looking for new employees in Russia, despite Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with the country. “After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Bacardi announced that it would stop exporting to Russia and stop investing in advertising, but this part later disappeared from the company’s official statement,” according to a statement from the NACP. “Therefore, the company continued to supply its products to the Russian Federation for millions of dollars and to look for new employees by publishing job advertisements.”
Bacardi has engaged in rather sketchy bookkeeping to hide its involvement in Russia. But they were inadvertently outed by Russia itself.
The NACP claimed the Russian division of the Bacardi Rus company “imported goods worth $169 million during the year of war with Ukraine.” The agency cited data from the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, which it said showed the revenue of Bacardi Rus in 2022 increased by 8.5 percent to 32.6 billion rubles and had a net profit of 4.7 billion rubles, which is 206.5 percent more than its profit in 2021. The NACP said the company paid more than $12 million in income taxes to Russia.
Both Yale University School of Management and the Kyiv School of Economics maintain databases on involvement of foreign businesses in Russia.
They are somewhat similar but not identical. The KSE database covers twice as many companies as Yale. Yale uses five categories; the KSE uses six categories in the heading but then telescopes the four middle categories into two beneath the fold. The KSE offers more detailed information on each company. The latter also has a version in Ukrainian. Yale offers a continuous scroll running from worst to best grouping. At KSE you click one of the categories and are then shown the company profiles in groups of 120 or less. Both sites were updated on Thursday.
Over 1,000 Companies Have Curtailed Operations in Russia—But Some Remain | Yale School of Management (Yale)
Stop Doing Business With Russia (KSE)
Many of the listings are for consumer products companies. So the databases are worth a browse before the next time you shop. Support the good guys and take a pass on the bad guys.

The village’s roads and houses are still heavily damaged from missile strikes in the recent war. The local hospital has become a shelter for the homeless. “We are all waiting for our turn to starve to death,” said Tsehay Assefa, an elderly villager who recently buried her son, a farmer who died of hunger, and one of her grandchildren. Across the Tigray region, in northern Ethiopia, thousands of people have perished from lack of food in the 14 months since the end of the disastrous two-year war in which Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers fought against Tigrayan forces. Now drought is compounding the devastation. A famine is looming that could rival the worst famines of the past, relief workers say.
“This latest famine is much bigger than the 1984 famine,” said Gebrehiwot Gebregzabher, head of the Tigray Disaster Risk Management Commission. “This famine is invisible, it’s impacting more people, and the response has been minimal, unfortunately,” he told The Globe in an interview. Mark Lowcock, the United Nations humanitarian chief and emergency relief co-ordinator from 2017 to 2021, says the situation in Yechila reinforces his concern about the crisis. “Experienced and knowledgeable experts tell me the data they are seeing – and their own recent experience travelling in parts of rural Tigray – might point to a catastrophe unfolding in 2024 comparable to the infamous tragedy of 1984-85,” he told The Globe.
Cellphone access in rural regions is still spotty. Eritrean forces continue to occupy parts of the region, further limiting access.
Humanitarian aid from UN agencies and Western governments was suspended for several months after relief workers found evidence that food aid was being diverted by corrupt Ethiopian and Tigrayan officials. Aid is only now being slowly restored, but it is not enough, Tigrayans say. Open this photo in gallery: Yemserach Alelegn says her newborn is near death as hunger prevents her from breastfeeding. “Ours is a slow death,” said Yemserach Alelegn, a 37-year-old mother of six who begs for food in Yechila. Her husband often skips the family’s meagre meals to give their children more food, but the hunger has become unbearable. “I can’t even breastfeed my newborn, who is near death, and my husband is too weak to stand and walk,” Ms. Alelegn said. Many Tigrayans have moved into Yechila to seek assistance after giving up on their own villages, but they have found little help.
“We are all trying to survive,” said Aleka Zegaye Gebrehawaria, 37, who moved to the village with his six children.
He said he sees deaths every day in his new home. The dead are buried with little ceremony. “We have all lost dear friends and family members,” he said. “If we die, would anyone notice?” The Famine Early Warning Systems Network, a humanitarian research group, recently said famine could be widespread in Tigray by early 2024. Tigrayan officials estimate that 3.5 million people need urgent aid, including 2.3 million farmers, in a region of about six million people. Existing aid is helping just one-fifth of the needy, they say.
Don't stop talking about what is happening in Tigray.

Look at almost any recent major news story from Russia, and you’ll find the Federal Security Service, better known as the FSB. Having failed to prevent the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack in Moscow last month, the agency has played a major role in arresting and apparently torturing the suspected perpetrators. It was FSB agents who arrested Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich on espionage charges just over a year ago. And the FSB has been heavily involved in enforcing Russia’s crackdowns on dissent and LGBTQ+ rights.
At the same time, the FSB is inextricably linked to Moscow’s war against Ukraine. After years of carrying out subversive activities there, it provided Putin with key (though apparently misleading) intel that led him to launch his full-scale invasion in 2022. Since then, its agents have facilitated the deportation of Ukrainian children, tortured an untold number of Ukrainian civilians in so-called “torture chambers,” and tried to plant former ISIS members in Ukrainian battalions.
And let’s not forget that Putin himself was shaped by his career in the FSB’s predecessor agency, the Soviet-era KGB. Putin’s rise to power was defined by his image as a strong man who could ensure security and stability. Since assuming the presidency, he’s given himself direct authority over the FSB and steadily expanded its ability to surveil and repress Russian citizens.
To learn about the Russian FSB’s evolution over the last three decades, its operations in Russia and beyond, and its possible future after Putin, Meduza in English senior news editor Sam Breazeale spoke to Dr. Kevin Riehle, an expert in foreign intelligence services and the author of The Russian FSB: A Concise History of the Federal Security Service.

Aperçu of the Week
"You can't knock on opportunity's door and not be ready."
(Peter Gene Hernandez, better known as Bruno Mars and my sons favorite soundtrack while he's cooking)
Bad News of the Week
Sport actually has nothing to do with politics. Because the competition is carried out by individuals who (can) stand outside of systems. Nevertheless, sport is often instrumentalized by politics by stylizing successful athletes as symbolic figures for the strength of a system. I can still remember the Olympic Games in the 70s and 80s very well, in which the athletes of the USA and the Soviet Union competed against each other in many ways as a priority. And Rocky IV, of course.
It is fitting that sports organizations have always been suspected of being corrupt - often rightly so, see FIFA. It is therefore clear that it is almost always not the athletes who are the problem, but the officials. Do you need proof? How about China and doping? Because there was a big boom this week, as a journalistic investigative team from ARD (the BBC of Germany) found out.
At a national swimming competition in China at the beginning of 2021, 23 swimmers tested positive in the mandatory doping tests - which means negative in this context. This was then covered up. With the knowledge of WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). The agency did not consider it worth investigating the banned substance trimetazidine, for which the Russian figure skating prodigy Kamila Valiyeva was banned for four years in the same year. The Chinese swimmers, however, were not. In the following Summer Olympics in Tokyo, three of them won gold and two silver.
We can see that China today is what the Soviet Union (and to some extent the GDR) used to be - a regime that abuses even its top performers to score points at international level. The staff looking after athletes (including doctors who have long since thrown the Hippocratic Oath overboard) still have more say than the athletes themselves. An institution that was set up to prevent malpractice can also be corrupt. At the major sporting events this summer, first the European Men's Football Championships and then the Olympic Games in Paris, spectators will not know whether they are cheering on a fake. And the athletes themselves won't know whether the competition was fair at all.
Good News of the Week
At last, US weapons are back in Ukraine. For months, the Republican “Freedom caucus” in the House of Representatives had been standing on the brakes. And Ukraine lost. Because, as is generally the case in the NATO context, all other members cannot compensate for the loss of by far the most capable partner country. It is therefore a great relief that the rationalists in the USA have regained the upper hand. And are now giving the badly shaken Ukraine hope again.
The following still applies: if Putin can subjugate Ukraine or impose a dictated peace on it, he will not sit back contentedly in his armchair in the Kremlin and enjoy the day of victory. He will continue in his quest to bring the Soviet Union back from the dead. Even if the Baltic states are members of NATO, they would be his next victims (not to mention Moldova, for example). Because apparently he could simply allow himself to do this without being stopped. The democracy of the whole of Europe is being defended in Ukraine, that must not be forgotten. So my heartfelt thanks to the US Congress.
A positive side effect of all this is that the same financial package, which Joe Biden will undoubtedly sign as soon as possible, contains even more. Namely 26 billion US dollars for the suffering population in Gaza - in your face, Benjamin Netanyahu! And 8 billion for Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific region - in your face, Xi Jinping! The USA are back on the world stage where they belong. I would not have thought it, but I must now pay tribute to a member of the Republican establishment. So thank you, Speaker of the House James Michael “Mike” Johnson. Hopefully I'll get over it...
Personal happy moment of the week
My son was in trouble with a teacher. A misunderstanding - that had developed into a solid crisis due to a certain stubbornness on both sides - was now threatening to cost him his participation in a project that is important to him. I took his side and was called in for a “clarifying discussion”. This was then canceled because the teacher (probably looking for reinforcement and arguments) consulted with other teachers. And “received very positive feedback on his behavior”. Disciplinary measures were not taken “because he is so committed and keeps the group together.” So a serious accusation suddenly turned into high praise.
I couldn't care less...
...that a Belgian court acquitted a driver who was driving with a blood alcohol level of 2.1. Because he suffers from the extremely rare “home-brew syndrome”: the body produces alcohol itself, which leads to the usual symptoms such as reduced responsiveness etc. Anyone who is a danger to themselves and, above all, to others on the road should not be allowed to drive - for whatever reason. After all, the disability of no blind person is their own fault. But no court in the world would allow him to drive.
It's fine with me...
...that for the first time in the history of the USA a criminal trial is taking place against a (former) president. I don't care whether or not you can plead guilty to election interference by falsifying business records because of hush money payments to a porn star. I just wish that a proven notorious liar and cheat, who is also a sexist, racist, homophobe and incidentally “unfit for office”, would finally have to take responsibility for his actions in court.
As I write this...
...April lives up to its name: first you can go swimming and two days later it's snowing. Candles are set up in the vineyards to warm the tender buds. And the hedgehog that has been hibernating on the terrace under our barbecue probably thinks it has woken up too early. Allergy sufferers are happy about the abrupt end of the pollen season. But everyone misses spring.
Post Scriptum
Everyone gets their life from their mother. She is the primary caregiver that all humans have in their first perceptions. That's why I've never understood why so many men simply devalue this in the course of their lives - and grant women fewer rights than themselves. Poverty, discrimination and a lack of equal rights cost lives, according to the latest UN World Population Report.
Not only is there no progress towards equality, there is actually a decline. The rights of “women, girls and gender-diverse people are being pushed back more and more,” says Dr. Natalia Kanem (head of the United Nations Population Fund). Lack of representation and limited self-determination force one in four women under a male-dominated yoke. And sexual violence is a problem in almost every country in the world. No man can want that. Not for his mother, not for his sister, not for his daughter. And not for his wife either. Shame on you!

GERB unveiled its management program, with party leader Boyko Borisov expressing readiness to negotiate with any party that acknowledges GERB's agenda after the June 9 elections. During the event, Borissov emphasized that the political crisis should be resolved with a comprehensive management mandate and a prominent political leader heading the cabinet.
Raya Nazaryan, the deputy chairperson of the GERB parliamentary group, described Borissov as the "brightest political figure," implying his candidacy for prime minister. This message is a key component of GERB's pre-election campaign, alongside the need to end "unsuccessful experiments," as stated by Tomislav Donchev. He reiterated that the leading political force would establish a government.
The management program highlights four factors for effective governance:
Ending the political crisis with a full management mandate
Establishing a government with political accountability
Ensuring reconciliation, stability, and consistent effort
Providing authentic leadership capable of making sound decisions
GERB's program focuses on six main areas: education and labor market, healthcare, modernization and digitalization, industrialization and infrastructure, security and defense, and legal reform.
Former Education Minister Krasimir Valchev declared education as the main priority, emphasizing the need for a long-term commitment. Key proposals include promoting dual education, funding student internships, and increasing student classes in businesses. Valchev stressed the importance of long-term parliaments to implement these reforms.
Other educational priorities include raising salaries for teachers and university professors above the national average, expanding nursery and kindergarten places, and renovating educational facilities.
In healthcare, GERB plans to establish a National Center for screening and preventing significant diseases, create a new National Program for transplants, and introduce telemedicine, mobile medical teams, and mobile pharmacies.
With a full four-year mandate, GERB promises full membership in Schengen, the Eurozone, and the OECD, GDP growth to 120 billion euros, and income growth to 75-80% of the European average. They propose a new Public-Private Partnership Law, 15 industrial parks, and easier land expropriation processes.
In digitization, GERB advocates for a digital identity law to replace electronic signatures, improved e-ticket sales services, and using artificial intelligence to address traffic congestion.
GERB also aims to introduce the concept of "water poverty," support for those in need, improve water quality, and encourage investments in renewable energy installations.
In legal reform, GERB pledges to continue anti-corruption efforts, adopt a new Penal Code, and introduce more restrictions for young drivers.
At the end of the program presentation, Boyko Borissov noted that the plans would remain unimplemented without clear governance partners. Although he didn't specify potential partners, DPS chairman Delyan Peevski later discouraged Borissov from planning to govern with "We Continue the Change," accusing them of financial misconduct.
Borissov criticized his former partners from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria," accusing them of seeking new elections in the fall. He called for post-election unity among parties to advance the country's development, warning against continued political fragmentation.

Brazil at a Crossroads: The Environment or Oil and Gas
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s administration brought high hopes of reversing devastating environmental destruction. Will a new fossil fuel boom undermine promises for change?
Tumblr media
With record-setting fires in the Amazon dominating headlines in recent years, the global environmental imaginary of Brazil often brings up scenes of deforestation, threats of tremendous biodiversity loss, and violent displacement driven by the cattle, forestry, and agribusiness industries. Now, on the heels of a wave of oil industry privatizations, pressure has mounted around the question of oil extraction in the Amazon. While deforestation often tops the national and international agenda, less present is the question of air pollution from the country’s oil, gas, and coal industries.
Care for the environment, however, seems to be part of Brazil’s social fabric, or what brings a lot of people together. In January 2023, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva returned to power on a platform of socioeconomic change and environmental protection. His appointments of Marina Silva to head the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Sônia Guajajara to lead the new Ministry of Indigenous Peoples were especially promising.
But a strong governmental commitment to environmental issues has been lacking. Lula has faced strong criticism for his lack of firm opposition to congressional moves that diluted the powers of both ministries, stripping them of tools to protect water resources, prevent land grabbing, and slow deforestation.
Brazil’s oil production increased in 2022 to 3 million barrels per day, mostly from its deep-water offshore pre-salt oil fields. The energy minister recently announced a projected goal of producing 5.4 million barrels per day by 2029, which would elevate Brazil to being the fourth largest oil producer in the world and lock the country into a carbon-intensive energy model. Giant corporations like Total, Equinor, and Petronas are already reaping the profits. On December 13, the day after the COP28 climate summit ended, the Brazilian National Petroleum Agency (ANP) auctioned drilling rights to 602 exploration areas, several in buffer zones of protected areas in the Amazon that would impact Indigenous and quilombola territories. The state oil company Petrobras—despite being discredited in a sweeping corruption scandal that played out between about 2014 and 2018—is now suddenly positioned to become a major corporate player regionally and globally.
Environmental protection often takes a back seat to the alleged economic benefits of extracting oil, gas, and coal, and national and international news reports rarely mention pressing environmental issues tied to these resources’ climate-heating and public health impacts. As Brazil’s fossil fuel industry eyes expansion, closer scrutiny of the consequences of air pollution from oil, gas, and coal, especially on communities living near oil and gas facilities, is urgently needed.

https://www.maxhertzberg.co.uk/background/politics/stasi-tactics/ *TARGETED COMMUNITY REPORT* Facebook post by Devin Keymer is with Jamie Walls TI and 94 others, May 14 at 9:32 AM He writes: · "Gaslighting is at the heart of all gangstalking. Once you know you're being gaslighted the spell is broken. Once you know it's the CIA, FBI, NSA (deep state) watchlist it's over. Most people don't know they're targeted by intelligence agencies. Do an awareness campaign and educate the public about the watchlist, Zersetzung, gaslighting, doppelgangers, narcissist, smear campaigns, and flying monkeys. There's two parts to Government Gangstalking (GG). Sattelite Squadron (SS) electronic harassment and Spineless Stalkers (SS) organized stalking. It's not a Good Game (GG) like in chess - it's pathetic. They're putting innocent people on the watchlist and using reaction abuse and all entraping you with the police. Intelligence agencies carefully plan operations with Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance (PPPPP). Everyone writes reports with Who, What, When, Where, Why (WWWWW). The gangstalking motto is Disrupt, Discredit, Divide, Distract, Destroy (DDDDD). Stay Cool, Calm, Collected (CCC) to their reaction abuse. Reaction abuse causes false flags." I document in "Remote Brain Targeting, Book One, the Scientology connection. And, from personal experience the military is heavily involved (this is military technology they are using) from military bases across our nation on heinous high-tech training missions which includes mind invasive technologies, as well as the FBI's Infragard mobilizing of business in communities, and corrupt law enforcement slander in Neighborhood Watch, etc., etc., etc. I thought I was the only one they are using a doppelganger to discredit. Twice I have been told that there is a lookalike around town, who also drove at that time the exact same vehicle as I did. I think they may be using her to pretend that I am a woman of ill repute. I also think that possibly images confirming this are on the tracking app they provide mobilized "Community Volunteers".   At first I wanted to pay someone to let me see what they are saying and images on the app that ding on many phones when I am around. I then thought, whatever. It comes with the territory. In reality, you can't blame them for desperately trying to cover-up MONSTROUS high-tech assassinations and beyond belief horrific human experimentation on men, women and children.   What a national heinous, inhumane DISGRACE!

A 1998 Guardian article which is surprisingly informative...
I'm posting it in full:
"'It is the firm and continuing policy that Allende be overthrown by a coup… Please review all your present and possibly new activities to include propaganda, black operations, surfacing of intelligence or disinformation, personal contacts, or anything else your imagination can conjure…'
'Eyes only, restricted handling, secret' message. To US station chief, Santiago. From CIA headquarters. 16 October 1970.
You would be wrong to assume this plan for mayhem was another manifestation of the Cold War between the 'free world' and communism. Much more was at stake: Pepsi-Cola's market share and other matters closer to the heart of corporate America.
In exclusive interviews with The Observer last week, the former US Ambassador to Chile, Edward Korry, told the story in - and behind - these and other top secret CIA, State Department and White House cables recently released by the National Security Archives. Korry filled in gaps in the story by describing cables still classified, and disclosing information censored in papers now available under the US Freedom of Information Act.
Korry, who served Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, told how US companies, from cola to copper, using the CIA as an international debt collection agency and investment security force.
Indeed, the October 1970 plot against Chile's President-elect Salvador Allende, using CIA 'sub-machine guns and ammo', was the direct result of a plea for action a month earlier by Donald Kendall, chairman of PepsiCo, in two telephone calls to the company's former lawyer, President Richard Nixon.
Kendall arranged for the owner of the company's Chilean bottling operation to meet National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger on September 15. Hours later, Nixon called in his CIA chief, Richard Helms, and, according to Helms's handwritten notes, ordered the CIA to prevent Allende's inauguration.
Tumblr media
But this is only half the story, according to Korry. He claims the US conspiracy against Allende's election did not begin with Nixon, but originated - and read no further if you cherish the myth of Camelot - with John F Kennedy.
In 1963, Allende was heading towards victory in Chile's presidential election. Kennedy decided his political creation, Eduardo Frei, the late father of Chile's current President, Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, could win the election by buying it. Kennedy left it to his brother, Bobby, the Attorney-General, to put the plan into action.
The Kennedys cajoled US multinationals into pouring $2 billion into Chile, a nation of only 8 million people. This was not benign investment, but what Korry calls 'a mutually corrupting' web of business deals, many questionable, for which the US government would arrange guarantees and insurance.
In return, the American-based firms kicked back millions of dollars to pay for well over half of Frei's successful election campaign. By the end of this process, Americans had gobbled up more than 85 per cent of Chile's hard-currency earning industries.
The US government, the guarantor of these investments, committed extraordinary monetary, intelligence and political resources to protect them. Several business-friendly US government front organisations and operatives were sent into Chile -including the American Institute for Free Labor Development, infamous for sabotaging militant trade unions.
Then, in 1970, US investments, both financial and political, faced unexpected jeopardy. A split between Chile's centre and right-wing parties permitted an alliance of communists, socialists and radicals - uniting behind the socialist Allende - to finish the presidential election 1 per cent ahead of his nearest rival.
That October, Korry, a hardened anti-communist, hatched an off-the-wall scheme to block Allende's inauguration and return Frei to power. To promote his own bloodless intrigues, the ambassador claims he 'back-channeled' a message to Washington warning against military actions that might lead to 'another Bay of Pigs' fiasco. (Korry retains a copy of this still-classified cable.)
But Korry's prescient message only angered Kissinger, who had already authorised the Pepsi-instigated coup, scheduled for the following week. Kissinger ordered Korry to fly in secret to Washington that weekend for a dressing-down. Still not knowing about the CIA plan, Korry told Kissinger in a White House corridor that 'only a madman' would plot with Chile's ultra-right generals.
As if on cue, Kissinger opened the door to the Oval Office to introduce Nixon. Nixon - who described his ambassador as 'soft in the head' - did agree that, tactically, a coup could not yet succeed. A last-minute cable to the CIA to delay action was too late: the conspirators kidnapped and killed Chile's pro- democracy Armed Forces Chief, Rene Schneider. Public revulsion at this crime assured Allende's confirmation by Chile's Congress.
Even if the US president's sense of realpolitik may have disposed him to a modus vivendi with Allende - Korry's alternative if his Frei gambit failed - Nixon faced intense pressure from his political donors in business who were panicked by Allende's plans to nationalise their operations.
Tumblr media
In particular, the president was aware that the owner of Chile's phone company, ITT Corporation, was illegally channelling funds into Republican Party coffers. Nixon could not ignore ITT - and ITT wanted blood. An ITT board member, ex-CIA director John McCone, pledged Kissinger $1 million in support of CIA action to prevent Allende from taking office.
Separately, Anaconda Copper and other multinationals, under the aegis of David Rockefeller's Business Group for Latin America, offered $500,000 to buy influence with Chilean congressmen to reject confirmation of Allende's victory. But Korry wouldn't play. While he knew nothing of the ITT demands on the CIA, he got wind of, and vetoed, the cash for payoffs from Anaconda and the other firms.
Korry, speaking last week from his home in Charlotte, North Carolina, disclosed that he even turned in to the Chilean authorities an army major who planned to assassinate Allende - unaware the officer was linked to the CIA plotters.
Once Allende took office, Korry sought accommodation with the new government, conceding that expropriations of the telephone and copper concessions (actually begun under Frei) were necessary to disentangle Chile from seven decades of 'incestuous and corrupting' dependency.
US corporations didn't see it that way. While pretending to bargain in good faith, they pushed the White House to impose a clandestine embargo on Chile's economy. But in case all schemes failed, ITT, claims Korry, paid $500,000 to someone referred to in their intercepted cables as 'The Fat Man'. Korry identified him as Jacobo Schaulsohn, Allende's ally on a committee set up to compensate firms whose property had been expropriated.
It was not money well spent. In 1971, when Allende learned of the corporate machinations against his government, he refused the compensation. It was this - the Chilean leader's failure to pay, not his perceived allegiance to the hammer and sickle - that sealed his fate.
Tumblr media
The State Department pulled Korry out of Santiago in October 1971. On his return to the US, he advised the government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation to deny Anaconda Copper and ITT compensation for their seized property. Korry argued that, like someone who burns down their own home, ITT could not claim against insurance for an expropriation the company had itself provoked by violating Chilean law.
Confidentially, he recommended criminal charges against ITT's top brass, including, implicitly, chief executive Harold Geneen, for falsifying the insurance claims and lying to Congress.
Given powerful evidence against the companies, OPIC at first refused them compensation, and the Justice Department indicted two mid-level ITT operatives for perjury. But ultimately, the companies received their money and the executives went free on the grounds that they were working with the full co-operation of the CIA - and higher.
In September 1970 in a secret cable to the US Secretary of State, ambassador Korry quotes Jean Genet: 'Even if my hands were full of truths, I wouldn't open it for others.' Why open his hand now? At 77, one supposes there is a desire to correct history. He says only that it is important to take out of the shadows what he calls - optimistically - the last case of US 'dollar diplomacy'.

More Classified Docs Found for Biden
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Jan. 12, 2023.--Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland, 70, announced today that he was appointing Special Counsel Robert Hur, a Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney in Maryland, to investigate 80-year-old President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents after leaving as Vice President Jan. 20, 2017.  Biden called 76-year-old former President Donald Trump “irresponsible” for housing classified docs at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago estate, piling on with the rest of the U.S. press against the former president.  Biden applauded Atty. Gen. Merrick Garlands decision to have the FBI raid Trump’s estate to remove any classified docs, returning them under the Presidential Records Act to the National Archives.  Garland’s decision to appoint another Special Counsel was a response to cover the Department of Justice from potential GOP investigations into corruption and partisan treatment in vaunted government agencies.
When you look at the big picture, Democrats and the press looked for anything to end Trump’s political career, hoping, beyond anything else, to prevent him from running for president in 2024.  Finding classified docs at Mar-a-Lago, Democrats and the press thought they had an open-and-shut case to charge Trump with violating any number of U.S. laws related to handling classified information, including the Presidential Records Act and Espionage Act. All of a sudden, Biden’s lawyers have uncovered sensitive docs found and Biden’s former Univ. of Pennsylvania offices but, more recently, in the garage of his Wilmington, DE. home and personal library.  Where else Biden’s attorneys find more classified documents is anyone’s guess.  Biden denies knowing anything about the whereabouts of classified documents from his time serving as former President Barack Obama’s Vice President.
Instead of wasting more DOJ time on complete nonsense, Garland should not appoint a new Special Counsel to investigate old inconsequential classified docs collecting dust in Biden’s garage of anywhere else. Garland should withdraw Jack Smith as Legal Counsel looking into Trump’s classified docs found at Mar-a-Lago and end the complete waste of DOJ time and energy.  No one cares about the small number of useless classified docs found in Trump or Biden’s archives.  When it came to Trump, Garland must deal with the “deep state” political operatives in the DOJ that would used a respected government agency for political purposes, like harassing Trump.  Garland’s No. 2 Deputy Atty. Gen. Lisa Monaco has a personal vendetta with Trump and pushed the Attorney General to appoint Jack Smith as Special Counsel.  Garland should immediately remove Jack Smith.
Appointing Robert Hur to investigate Biden’s mishandling of classified docs accomplishes nothing other than giving the DOJ political cover before House Republicans investigate egregious political abuses at the DOJ, FBI, CIA and National Security Agency [NSA] during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and his four years in office. Can you imagine,  62-year-old former FBI Director James Comey launched, with fomer Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch’s approval, a counterintelligence investigation into a Republican presidential nominee?  If Lynch approved the FBI investigation of Trump, it reasonable to think that former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden approved the investigation as well.  So when Garland appoints a Special Counsel for Bidenl, it only for the purpose of proving how even-handed he’s administering U.S. justice at the DOJ.
Wasting DOJ resources is not how to deal with investigations of Trump’s handling of classified docs.  Now that it’s known that Biden also mishandled classified docs, Garland should not waste more DOJ time appointing Robert Hur as Special Counsel to look into Biden’s mishandling of classified docs.  He should appoint a Special Counsel to look into corruption at the DOJ.  No one other than political hacks looking to retaliate against Trump and Biden cares about improper handling of classified docs.  Garland needs to have the professionalism to recognize that egregious abuses have taken place at the DOJ, FBI, CIA and NSA, abusing the agencies by political operatives.  Appointing Hur Speical Counsel accomplishes nothing to deal with past abuses of power.  Biden says he’s “cooperating fully and completely” with the DOJ, but that doesn’t rectify current or past abuses at the agency.
Garland isn’t facing undeniable current and past abuses at the DOJ, FBI, CIA and NSA.  When Garland decided to order the FBI to raid Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, he must be held accountable for letting Deputy Atty. Gen. Lisa Monaco, an Obama deep state operative, to call the shots.  Whatever Garland thought he could do to advance a Democrat agenda to prevent Trump from running in 2024, he must acknowledge the Mar-a-Lago raid was inappropriate, politically motivated and a product of extreme partisanship in the DOJ.  Appointing as Special Counsel to look into current and past DOJ corruption would be a start in the right direction. Garland has done nothing for equal justice under the law, only obscuring systemic corruption at the Department of Justice.  Political operatives like Lisa Monaco must be removed their positions, not continue the charade of investigating Biden’s classified docs.

Like Never Before
:: By Daymond Duck   Published on: August 20, 2022
As I understand it, Jesus taught that there will be a generation that sees all the signs beginning to come to pass (Luke 21:28).
He was saying the generation that sees everything shaping up is to know that their redemption (deliverance; the completion of God’s plan) is drawing near.
Many prophecy teachers agree that the terminal generation signs are appearing like never before.
The following reports appear to back that up.
As you read these reports, realize that:
Never before have I heard of the IRS advertising for armed agents that are willing to kill U.S. citizens.
Never before has America had the depth of government corruption we appear to have today.
Never before has the FBI raided a former president’s home.
Never before have I heard of nations forcing farmers to use less fertilizer and grow less cattle during food shortages.
Never before have I heard of a global leader calling people useless without criticism.
Never before have I heard of school textbooks telling children to eat bugs and weeds.
Never before have globalists said people will own nothing and be happy.
Never before have I heard of schools telling students it is bad to call America a nation under God.
The reprobate minds that are promoting the globalist agenda are taking the world toward prophetic fulfillment and a time of tribulation like never before.
One, last week, I wrote that on Aug. 7, 2022, the U.S. Senate passed the $739 billion deceptively named “Inflation Reduction Act” (the Congressional Budget Office, hundreds of economists, a few Democrats, and every Republican says it will not reduce inflation).
The bill:
Contains no money for more troops to defend America.
Contains no money for more police to make America’s cities safer.
Contains no money to make America’s borders more secure.
Funds about 87,000 new IRS agents to track American citizens’ buying and selling.
This week, I want to add to that:
Four days later, on Aug. 11, 2022, the IRS posted a help wanted ad on USAjobs.gov.
Several things are causing concern about the IRS hiring 87,000 more agents.
One of the agents’ duties listed in the IRS help wanted ad is to “Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary.”
Another duty is, “Be willing and able to participate in arrests, execution of search warrants, and other dangerous assignments.”
In recent months, the IRS has bought several million rounds of ammunition for pistols, shotguns, and AR-15 rifles.
Many government officials support the World Economic Forum (WEF) that says, “You will own nothing and be happy.”
They want the government to own everything before 2030.
Many government officials want to disarm America’s citizens.
About 30 armed FBI agents recently raided former Pres. Trump’s home.
The concern is that the IRS is seeking to hire thousands of agents that will be heavily armed and willing to kill U.S. citizens; at the same time, some government officials want to disarm U.S. citizens; and the U.S. is supporting a group (the WEF) that wants to confiscate everyone’s property.
Is the government afraid U.S. citizens might fight to keep their homes, farms, and other possessions?
(Update: On Aug. 13, 2022, it was reported that the IRS had just deleted the help wanted ad seeking people to “carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary.” I could have deleted the above but think voters need to know that the IRS wanted to hire people that would be willing to kill citizens.)
Two, concerning corruption: on Aug. 11, 2022, it was reported that Sen. Ron Johnson said, “We have a corrupt medical system in this country. From the pharmaceutical companies, down to the federal health agencies through to the research agencies and the medical journals.”
The corruption is in several layers of our government, and that is very troubling.
The Presidency of the U.S.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The National Institutes of Health (NIH)
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
The Department of Justice (DOJ)
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
It is easy to believe that the U.S. government will support the coming deceitful New World Order.
(More: On Aug. 12, 2022, Dave Hodges said it like this on The Common Sense Show: “The enemy is not at the gate. The enemy is inside the gate.)
Three, concerning corruption: on Aug. 12, 2022, William Koenig reported in Koenig’s Eye View that some people believe Pres. Trump has documents that suggest the involvement of high-level FBI and DOJ officials in the Russian collusion hoax and other schemes.
There is some speculation that the high-level FBI and DOJ officials sent the FBI agents to Mar-a-Lago to find and seize the evidence Trump has.
A few Republicans are seeking whistleblowers that can confirm this, and Koenig noted that whistleblowers are coming forward.
Skeptics should recall that FBI agents have been caught lying to judges and the media about the Russian collusion hoax, and DOJ officials have falsely called parents domestic terrorists for complaining about CRT being taught in schools, etc.
(More: Speculation that this was a dirty trick to keep Trump from running for Pres. again is also rampant.)
(More: On Aug. 15, 2022, it was reported that Rep. Jim Jordan said 14 FBI Whistleblowers have visited Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee alleging misconduct by leaders of the FBI.)
Four, concerning the return of Jews to the Promised Land at the end of the age (Jer. 31:8-9): on Aug. 11, 2022, it was reported that 31,066 Jews have already returned from Russia (18,891) and Ukraine (12,175) this year.
Almost 74% of the 16 to 80-year-old Jews that have returned from Ukraine are women because fighting-age men are not allowed to leave the country while the war is raging.
This brings to mind the fact that war will cause a shortage of men during the Tribulation Period, resulting in seven women being willing to marry one man so they can have a child (Isa. 4:1).
Five, concerning food shortages and famine: on Aug. 9, 2022, it was reported that:
There are about 54,000 farms in the Netherlands.
11,200 farms (almost 21%) are being forced to shut down to meet climate change emission goals.
17,600 farms (almost 33%) are being forced to reduce the number of cattle they own to meet climate change nitrogen pollution standards.
Farmers are losing their livelihood, food shortages will increase, and past reports have said these policies are going to be forced on nations all over the world.
They are part of the “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” goals.
(More: on Aug. 13, 2022, on The Common Sense Show, Dave Hodges said this issue of cattle polluting the air is mentioned in Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act.” Hodges didn’t say what the bill says about it, but he did say it is in Biden’s bill, and he said food shortages are coming.).
Six, concerning food shortages and famine: on Aug. 14, 2022, it was reported that:
The Canadian government is preparing to force Canadian farmers to reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizer they use to grow crops.
Forcing farmers to use less nitrogen fertilizer will reduce the amount of food that is produced.
Reducing world hunger by 2030 is a UN goal, but using less nitrogen fertilizer will increase world hunger, not reduce it.
Using less nitrogen fertilizer is also part of the “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” goals.
(More: While the current U.S. administration is falsely claiming that the U.S. has zero inflation, the UN is warning that food prices will keep rising because the price of fertilizer will keep rising, and crop yields will decline.)
(Note: The inflation rate is still 8.5%, not zero.)
Seven, concerning a global population reduction: on Aug. 12, 2022, it was reported that Yuval Noah Harari, chief advisor to World Economic Forum (WEF) head Klaus Schwab, said that the world does not need most of its current population.
According to Harari, Artificial Intelligence (AI; Robots, etc.) is replacing people, the shift to AI is increasing, and an increasing number of people are becoming useless.
Harari and the WEF value the environment and sustainability more than they value the lives of people.
Eight, concerning America’s abandonment of God: on Aug. 12, 2022, it was reported that the Fargo, North Dakota school board has decided that it is illegal to recite the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the U.S. because it mentions God and does not “align with the districts diversity, equity and inclusion values.”
According to the school board’s vice president, “The pledge had to go because it might upset the Hindus, Muslims, and atheists.”
Nine, concerning pestilence and deceit: on Aug. 15, 2022, Jill Biden, wife of Pres. Joe Biden, tested positive for Covid even though she has been double vaccinated and had two booster shots (jabbed for Covid 4 times).
By now, everyone should know that vaccinations and booster shots do not keep people from getting Covid.
Vaccinated and boosted people may have a milder case of Covid (or they may have a dangerous or life-ending side effect from the vaccinations), but they can still get Covid.
People should be concerned that Big Pharma was donating millions of dollars to politicians and making billions of dollars off mandatory vaccinations.
Sadly, we should follow the money because there is some talk of forcing people to be vaccinated for Monkey Pox and other pandemic scare tactics.
The safety of the public should take precedent over political donations and Big Pharma profits.
Ten, concerning food shortages: on Aug. 8, 2022, it was reported that government-funded propagandists in some western nations are now using children’s books to teach children to eat insects and weeds to save the planet from natural disasters and climate change.
The report said this could be dangerous to children.
Eleven, concerning world government and a possible rise of Ten Kings: on Aug. 16, 2022, Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin said (in my words with my explanation):
The U.S. and its allies dominate the world in a unipolar fashion (America and its allies act as one power and have too much influence in the world).
This unipolar dominance is doomed and will be replaced by a multipolar world (the current international order cannot stand and will be replaced by a new international order with more nations sharing the power and influence).
The era of the unipolar world order is a thing of the past (A new world order and a redistribution of power has arrived.).
According to the Bible, Ten Kings (leaders, czars, etc.) are a prelude to the Antichrist, and they will surrender their power and authority to the Antichrist.
I do not know that Putin’s view of a multipolar world is Ten leaders of groups of nations, but I believe we could be seeing the beginning of that.
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

MAGA extremists often rant about the so-called "deep state" which apparently means national defense, security, public safety, and regulatory bodies. The wannabe dictators prefer not to have checks and balances which can prevent them from going full-blown fascist. It's easier to get away with shit when you don't have to worry about accountability.
It's useful to see how such an attitude has already played out in another country.
Israel has been weakened by its own rightwingers who have eroded its security agencies with politics. Prime Minister Binyamin "Bibi" Netanyahu is the Israeli version of the so-called "Smart Trump" who many Republicans dream about. His rightwing governments have been running Israel for most of this century.
Bibi himself is still technically on trial on corruption charges. This year he and his coalition partners have attempted to strip the Israeli Supreme Court of many of its powers. And those partners, even more extremist than he is, had been dismissing security warnings from defense and intelligence agencies; of course those warnings abruptly turned out to be credible.
What’s happening in Israel now is a disturbing example of what can happen when elected officials use partisan and personal motivations to warp national security. For years, Republicans in Congress have attempted to sabotage what they call the “Deep State.” This includes placing holds on political nominees and castigating diplomats, officers and analysts employed in the government as captives to “Big Woke.” They might see it as political theater, necessary to boosting profiles and fundraising. But as this week shows, there can be a price. Reporting suggests that the hardline elements of Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing coalition were openly hostile to warnings from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and security agency Shin Bet that settler violence would increase the security threat to Israel. One Likud member of parliament complained: “The ideology of the left has reached the top echelons of the Shin Bet. The deep state has infiltrated the leadership of the Shin Bet and the IDF.” Another Netanyahu coalition member stated, “We see there is confusion as to who is an enemy.”
Attacking Israel's armed forces (the IDF) and its version of the FBI (Shin Bet) for political reasons has not done a lot for public safety there. It's like being mean to your watch dog for barking a warning.
Hamas’ surprise attack has highlighted further national security dysfunction within the Netanyahu government. There are confirmed reports that Egyptian intelligence directly warned Netanyahu that “something fierce will happen from Gaza.” Allegedly, Netanyahu was indifferent to the warning, explaining that the IDF was “swamped” with terrorism threats in the West Bank. Israeli critics have stated that his coalition repeatedly ignored earlier warnings from Arab allies regarding rising levels of Palestinian frustration. Haaretz editorialized this week that, “a prime minister indicted in three corruption cases cannot look after state affairs, as national interests will necessarily be subordinate to extricating him from a possible conviction and jail time.”
Netanyahu's ignoring of the warnings about a potential Hamas attack reminds me of the infamous 06 August 2001 intelligence brief George W. Bush ignored with the title Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.
Here’s my question: Is Israel a harbinger for the United States? Are we getting a sneak preview of what will happen if Republicans succeed in their effort to exercise more control over the national security bureaucracy?
I think we all know the answer to that. Americans should worry.
The problem comes when elected officials and political appointees decide that in order to achieve their desired ends, they need to reduce entire national security institutions to rubble. And let’s be very clear: In 2023, all of the U.S. partisans engaging in such behavior are Republicans. Former president and likely future presidential nominee Donald Trump has set the tone here. The number of instances that the former president sabotaged U.S. national security while in office and afterwards is too long to recount in detail. There’s the blabbing of secrets to Russian officials in the Oval Office, the tweeting of classified photos, the refusal to return national security secrets once he left office, and the fact that he shared extremely sensitive information about the capabilities of U.S. nuclear submarines to Mar-a-Lago members, who in turn blabbed it to everyone. His behavior was so egregious that multiple former cabinet members — most recently John Kelly, Trump’s former White House chief of staff — have gone on the record to discuss the danger he poses. Back in June his attorney general, William Barr, warned on Face the Nation, “He will always put his own interests, and gratifying his own ego, ahead of everything else, including the country’s interests.”
It's not just Trump but also his sycophants and the wannabe Trumps.
Trump is the loudest but hardly the only Republican willing to sabotage the U.S. national security architecture. Other GOP presidential contenders have expressed an equally strident desire. Vivek Ramaswamy promised to “use executive authority to shut down the deep state.” His plans included firing 75 percent of the federal workforce and dismantling the FBI and Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been even more violent in his rhetoric, promising one New Hampshire crowd that “all these deep state people … we’re going to start slitting throats on day one.”
Elon Musk fired 75% (or more) of Twitter staff the way that Vivek Ramaswamy wants to fire 75% of the federal government. We know how that's going.
Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville is currently using arcane Senate rules to damage the US armed forces.
The most obvious manifestation of this is Sen. Tommy Tuberville holding more than three hundred military promotions hostage unless the Pentagon stops funding travel for service women to receive abortions. This includes two selections for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as Middle East theater commanders for naval and ground forces. [ ... ] Marco Rubio has placed holds on multiple Biden nominees, as has Ted Cruz. The result is that, at present, the United States does not have confirmed ambassadors in Israel, Egypt, Lebanon and Kuwait. There has been no confirmed USAID official for the Middle East for close to three years, nor has there been a confirmed State Department Coordinator for Counterterrorism for nearly two years.
Raise your hand if you think it's kinda important to have a State Department Coordinator for Counterterrorism. 🙋🏽
Republicans would like to do to US national security what the far right Netanyahu government has done to Israel's.

The Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption, GRECO, in a new report published on Tuesday, has underlined the changes Moldova must make to the judiciary and to tackle corruption in government and law-enforcement.
The report describes a series of concerning issues regarding high government positions and lobbying, integrity within the Border Police, the activity of integrity inspectors, and the allocation of resources for the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
“This report aims to support the country’s ongoing efforts to build a solid foundation for preventing corruption by strengthening transparency, integrity and accountability in public life,” it says.
On the government, the report draws attention to the need to implement a code of conduct for persons in top executive positions, PTEF, to cover all relevant integrity issues and establish a credible mechanism for monitoring and enforcement.
“The lobbying activity itself is not regulated, and there is no effective supervision of the post-employment restrictions in terms of PTEF and [GRECO] calls on the authorities to address their shortcomings,” the report says.
The report draws attention to the inefficiency of the National Integrity Agency, ANI, in verifying officials’ wealth declarations. “An internal oversight mechanism should be established to ensure the consistency of the decisions of the ANI integrity inspectors, as well as an equal and fair distribution of the workload among them,” states the report.
GRECO also says the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office’s mandate and inadequate resources have impeded the effective prosecution of high-level corruption.
The report also mentions that the low level of pay in the Police and Border Police is an obstacle to attracting recruits and has led employees to engage in unauthorized outside paid work in the informal economy, particularly when they are on annual leave and mainly abroad.
“As regards the Police and the Border Police, GRECO calls for the adoption of measures to address the widespread practice of promotions to interim managerial positions. Regular vetting of the integrity of law enforcement officers is missing,” the report says.
The Moldovan authorities are expected to report back to GRECO on implementing its 25 recommendations by June 30, 2025, so it can assess the level of compliance with them.
Moldova has been a member of GRECO since 2001 and has gone through four evaluation rounds, focusing on different topics related to the prevention and fight against corruption.
Some 93 per cent of the recommendations were implemented from the first evaluation round, 67 per cent from the second and 88 per cent from the third round.
But in the fourth evaluation round, which dealt with preventing corruption among parliamentarians, judges and prosecutors, only 33 per cent of all recommendations addressed were fully implemented.
Moldova is currently in the screening process for EU accession. In the next period, there will be a round of meetings with representatives of the European Commission, which will decide whether to open negotiation chapters for accession.

KYIV (Reuters) - Ukraine is under pressure from international lenders and watchdogs at home to re-impose a requirement that officials publicly declare their assets, a pillar of its anti-corruption policies that was suspended after Russia's invasion last year.
Fighting graft is a top requirement for Ukraine to join the European Union, which offered Kyiv candidate status last year, and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's government says it is a priority alongside the war effort.
Since 2016, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian officials had been required to publicly disclose their assets under the measure, viewed as a powerful tool for Ukrainians to monitor their officials.
But the disclosures were made optional and restricted from public view after Russia's full-scale invasion last year, with authorities citing security risks from releasing information that might give away the location of public figures.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has singled out the return of the requirement for "high-risk and senior level public officials" as one of several benchmarks for paying out part of a $15.6 billion assistance package. It has urged Kyiv to begin bringing the measure back by the end of July.
Anastasia Radina, head of the Ukrainian parliament's anti-corruption committee, said legislation was under consideration that would allow exemptions, such as for service members and officials in Russian-occupied territory.
But she said watering down the disclosure requirements too much could blunt their impact.
"If the system has loopholes, then it cannot be fully functional in terms of its deterrence component," Radina told Reuters. "And that would be a problem."
The IMF on Thursday unlocked an $890 million tranche of its package based on Ukraine's "strong progress" in meeting reform commitments, but said other transparency and anti-corruption measures "need to proceed without delay".
A draft law restoring declarations had been introduced last September. Critics have accused some lawmakers of dragging their feet in a bid to avoid scrutiny.
The disclosures were a showcase of Ukraine's anti-corruption drive after the 2014 Maidan revolution, which toppled a pro-Russian president who fled leaving behind a lavish palace he had built for himself outside Kyiv.
Public servants, from municipal deputies to the president, were required to submit detailed annual declarations including information on personal finances, cars and property.
The National Agency for Corruption Prevention, a state watchdog, reviewed the declarations and could launch legal action if it suspected ill-gotten wealth.
'SYSTEMIC INSTRUMENT'
The watchdog's head Oleksandr Novikov said restoring the measure was critical as Kyiv's Western partners consider flooding Ukraine with cash for reconstruction. He said he had weighed in on proposed adjustments and was also wary of too many loopholes.
"There will be no other systemic instrument with which to build integrity," he told Reuters.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Friday Ukraine will receive $1.5 billion from the World Bank to support reconstruction and recovery.
Ukraine, which ranks 116th out of 180 countries in Transparency International's latest Corruption Perceptions Index, has dialled up its fight against graft in recent months.
Last month, anti-corruption authorities arrested the former head of the Supreme Court in a high-profile sting.
Andrii Borovyk, of Transparency's Ukraine office, said it was "extremely important" to restore public access to declarations, which he said could reveal whether officials are benefiting from building contracts, though certain exemptions were likely to be unavoidable.
"I think some compromise can be found, at least while the war is ongoing," said Borovyk.
A January poll by the New Europe Center think-tank in Kyiv found that 73% of Ukrainians believe Brussels is justified in seeking reforms from Kyiv as it pursues EU membership, even amid conflict.
Only one quarter of those believe the EU should be more lenient with its requirements.

Treatise on the CIA (Chet's RL)
CIA Systems:
The OSS, in the 1920s, was created by Governor Huey Long, out of bayous and cranberry bog towns, bayous the liberal South, and cranberries the union GOP North, with St. Paul, Minnesota, as the bay station, the experimental command unit, "Chicago", the Commody Polymercantile exchange for national contracts of good; "wampum".
By taking Albert Fish, an orphan from the Kennedy family born from a mother with a sinus tap, post-partum depression (a condition to retain memory after a child's birth, strengthening the woman into a bow shot composite Turkish archer's bow, to raise a Jannissary; as opposed to the womb chemicals sloughing off, preventing dementia in the mother and making the father, hate the child), and placing the orphan, within a check and relay system (preschool), so they would have a method of retaining orders (track Rabbinicals, track Iranian Persel diamond merchants, and track children reading comic books, for a relay system in memory recall), you would have your ideal soldier.
By now, anything police, military, or corporate executive, is this model, in the United States, called "the calling".
The CIA, is an enhanced class, formed in 1953, with linkage of Israel, into the American Mossad.
With the agencies of the MTI (police rights), the NSA (records privacy), the National Guard (military phalanx), Air National (rogue hunter), and ATF (grocer's union), the CIA has four divisions, and methods of raising them.
Fire Union: Marked by the swastika, on the left breast, so the child will be Hitler, if dying (the famous case of Adolf Hitler killing an American agent, duplicated), this is the diplomat, the attache.  These are your embassy personnel, that run numbers to deployed combat forces, in a theater.  Never known to the public, unless Boston Esplanade, has been routed around and back into New York Manhattan, the harbor; the political corruption system of Boston's criminal families, the 19th century Union Army, into New York's SWAT division, the called forces incase of stolen labor, a non-tangible producing a digit on a bank invoice but workers not paid a digit, allegedly for liability or lawful pay; actually, to prevent foreign espionage.
Military Police: Marked by a movie resemblance, "spic", these are soldiers that practice a martial arts form from a movie, and are trained in remedial courses; normally, remedial courses makes one a homosexual, the mark of the sex offense, however the sex offender posture and stance, can be transferred to combat, a lock or hold non-duplicated, with a special designed film, a "firefly", employing a Druid Rom, a "Pikey"; with the split between hero and traitor villain, the same person.  This way, an unhealthy habit of offense, the desire to make the world please the self for convenience of goal, becomes the healthy method of protecting your country's women, and on deployment, the world.
Narcotics Officer: A journalist undercover on domestic soil, this is a felon class of perpetrated lured entrapment, with a deputies handler moving the individual through a State Police missions system while on US Army intelligence, a local soil system to eliminate foreign espionage.  The subject "narc", a DC Comics or Capcom writer, the previous an FBI (federal police penmanship) and the latter a US Navy (formed combat implement) investment, will be placed through famous military veterans failures into "The Mob", an Israeli service, to move quietly, as an American, listed and labeled as a Mossad, however performing hits for a fake "intel"; US Army Intel, a teacher that has been reformed out of pedophilia (the necessary status to become a teacher, a drug dealer seduced into a statuatory rape suit by an underage vice lure), by "April Fool's" and then paired with the partner "narc squad" as the forward range mission intel (a lead actor Juliard's Class, the mirrored hand grip triple set, making Strausser Method impossible).
Field Agent: The highest rank for any executive mission operative, not in authority but in lethality of kill therefore danger to handle, they are impossible to de-escalate out of military utility, hence the Congressional Budget Office, a non-elected Congress panel out  side of the President or Governor's influence must be called and send a future "frog", the Marine NCO, to kill one; with a Luger handgun, in the "State Forest", the tradition for a failed agent.  The field agent, is given a mother's doctor, the famous "Jewish Doctor", to establish transference through the battered women's shelter, "Falun Gong", the international program for field agents.  Codenamed "Glen" or "Gwen", the doctor is actually a hunter of INTERPOL agents; private detectives on hire.  Therefore, the field agents will hunt police mercenaries involved in the wine, heroin, and petty literature market, as the counter-narc, a "saboteur".  This is called, "domestic sabotage", hunting the "saboteur".
Please note, these field functions and ranks and sets can interchange, stack variably, and change in actual ranks of arbitrage, the private or public sector business firm term for a named set of a corporate housing; the corporation's rights, as a "person", for IRS financial purposes.  Namely, default and bankruptcy, to recruit police from the firm producing a track veteran athlete, from a manager, the firm shut down and scuttled for having an abusive culture outside of ATF regulations.  The default, is the cop draft to a housing community, such as Village Green out of Chestnut Realty, and the bankruptcy, is the sales to a bank, the IPO failing being the Chapter 11, the firm is saved and becomes bank traded and the town changes regulations; however, with an IRA raid, the Irish Republican Army, the psychiatric union flips Irish, out of German, since a foreign medical personnel unit has become involved.  That's where your "narc" comes in, as a "field agent", a "borne".
