…the landlord in his capacity as capitalist has not only the right, but, in view of the competition, also the duty of ruthlessly making as much out of his property in house rent as he possibly can.  In such a society the housing shortage is no accident; it is a necessary institution…

I'm sharing this 👆 because I want everyone to know if you see a video or photos circulating, it is not current. Not that it's not relevant because they do know.
It's from Jan 2021, after the "insurrection". Its not current. This is when the razor wire fencing was around the Crapitol which appeared to be more like fencing to keep people in rather than keeping people out. 🤔

Why do companies relocate their manufacturing facilities to other countries? We all know the answer to that: To minimize labor costs. To lower the portion of the company’s revenue that goes to the people who do the work and to increase the portion of the company’s revenue that is reserved for investors and management. This is accomplished by the arbitrage of human desperation. A less desperate and impoverished group of workers is traded for a more desperate and impoverished group who will accept less money and a lower standard of living. In addition to this physical relocation of facilities, big companies routinely pursue the legal relocation of their operations to various tax havens, for the purpose of minimizing their tax payments. Physical relocation takes from workers, and legal relocation takes from the public of the nations that should, under a more common sense definition, be taking in tax revenue from these businesses. Working people get poorer, and the public gets poorer, and the gains are funneled into the pockets of the companies themselves, which is to say the investor and management classes. This is all done quite openly. It is not a secret at all. Apple manufactures its iPhones in gargantuan worker villages in poor countries like India and China and Apple evades tens of billions of dollars in taxes by stashing its money in offshore tax havens and Apple is, not coincidentally, worth close to $3 trillion.

Marx’s theory of value (re divergence of value from price) explains the foundation of surplus profit, which is significantly related to the unprecedented wealth of contemporary moguls, and its association with technological advancements/ increased productivity— eg in industrial production, specifically improvements in machinery, more productive factories. With related technological improvements, more productive units become the measure of price (exchange value). But these technological improvements are not instantaneous — eg because all branches of production are not the same. Thus there are varying degrees of productivity. And the least productive initially influences market price/ exchange value. Hence surplus profits for higher productivity, while market price fluctuates above market value. However, after a certain point, surplus profits “equalize” with average profits via competition, market price gravitates closer to market value, and the rate of profit becomes the same for capitals across the board. Again.. this presupposes that re- production of means of subsistence/ labor/ society is determined by production of surplus value (profits / rent) and the “law of market value”.
Finally, Marx’s examination of surplus profit notes how the law of market value creates a “false social value”, based on exchange value instead of value, that exploits society in terms of consumption/ consumers. For me, this offers an important theoretical foundation for organizing exploited workers at the point of consumption in addition to organizing at the point of production. And not only against capitalist producers but against the landlords as well; particularly with present, even more exorbitant rents and related surplus profits.

"In the mammoth royal love in we are enduring, we are told about the Queen’s cordial relationship with numerous PMs. But not Gough Whitlam. That would upset our colonial mind set. We try and shut out the Queen’s implausible and misleading denial on the Whitlam sacking.
It beggars belief that the Queen did not know that John Kerr was planning to sack Gough Whitlam. She may not have known the detail of the coup in progress, but she knew the substance and so did her family and particularly Prince Charles. But like Lord Nelson she pretends she did not see anything. Nonsense. She is trying to mislead us. That is not surprising for the Queen of Australia who lives in London.
Upper classes do stick together and will break rules and conventions when it suits.
Prince Charles, now King Charles 111 and King of Australia wrote to Kerr after the dismissal, ‘what you did last year was right and the courageous thing to do’
There are many reasons to reject the Queen’s cover-up and the cover-up done on her behalf. Importantly the Queen is formally responsible for what her staff do in her name. Her Private Secretary, Martin Charteris was her alter ego. We also know that the Queen was extraordinarily close to Charteris. ..." continue

Why has there been so little said about this since the queen's death? Or in general?
I'm not sure whether I'd just forgotten or never knew about this.
Gough Whitlam was apparently the first PM (1972-1975) to actually start restoring land rights to indigenous "Australians" after decades of false promises by his predecessors.
He came to power in 1972, ending decades of Conservative rule, and proceeded to abolish the death penalty and university fees, establish legal aid, and finally bring to an end the racist White Australia policy which had virtually banned non-white immigrants. And so much more.
After less than 3 years, Whitlam was sacked by the queen through the Governor-General John Kerr, in what seems often to be referred to as a coup. It is also widely suspected that the CIA was involved in these events, as they were closely tied to Kerr and others in the political right.
