if you tour central italy and stray from the same 4 touristy spots at some point you WILL end up in labyrinthine medieval little town that looks like any other labyrinthine medieval town except it has surprisingly well preserved medieval dungeons that are still perfectly accessible because they functioned as some man's tool shed up until 1988 and there will be an older lady there who will give you a tour for free and is a bit too excited to go through the full inventory of medieval torture devices

(There's nothing in the photograph to indicate scale, but the oak leaves around here are bigger than my hand and turn leathery shades of russet, hence I find them beautiful. Yes, I am trying to make this rather pathetic "gift" more exciting. 0:p But know cool rocks and pretty leaves count as serious currency in my estimation, so this is practically a gift card redeemable in Narnieland.)

I love it! Oak leaves are one of my favorites, so I do tend to pick up and press the best specimens that come my way, though we have no oak trees in walking distance so it’s not very often. I had a special mathom for you in particular.

This was drawn from my absolute favorite piece of concept art in the Weta Narnia art book. It’s so lovely and vibrant and green and I don’t have the book and can’t find the picture online. Best I could do is a sketch. but while looking for it I also found this leaf rubbing in the same folder, so I hope you like it :D

A pre-hijacking fic of Peeta’s decision to stay after being captured by the Capitol, finding strength in his promise to Katniss.

Just when I thought to pull my hand back, Katniss squeezed it. “Stay with me,” she breathed out, her face and hand going slack as sleep pulls her under.

It should’ve been embarrassing how immediate my response was, let alone my actual response, but I couldn’t fault myself for speaking the truth.

“Always.”

TW: hospital angst, nothing overly graphic. There are canon-compliant references of the Games. Included are two Catching Fire scenes in Peeta's POV: when Peeta is revived by Finnick after the forcefield incident and the iconic Stay with me.

#how to keep hopeful when you feel like God's not going to give you the one thing youre hoping for #how to keep from being angry at God because you just don't see movement in your life in this one area #yet when you pray for God's will #He assures you you're where He wants you #I have never wanted this thing before and now that I'm older I find myself longing for it #It's hard to listen to my parents when their only answer to everything is “pray about it” as if I havent been doing so for years #It's hard to take their whole “be patient” speech seriously when my mom married at 21 #My dad only slightly understands but I feel like its different at the same time #I was perfectly fine in church until the Pastor told a story about a married couple and the whole church was laughing while I nearly cried #I am the only single lady in my church on top of the only single person in my age group #I'm not even sure why God gave me this desire for marriage and a family #I feel like “God why would you give me this burning desire to have a family and marriage that glorifies and honors you if you weren't going #to give me said thing?“ #I'm asking God to help me enjoy being single but at the same time I feel myself starting to grow bitter and thats something I dont want. #I know not everyone is called to be married and thats what's got me messed up and angry because if I'm not called to marriage #why did He give me the desire for it?
