Hello! I hadn’t seen a post about so thought it might be a fun to do a guessing game for James and Alizee’s baby. Boy or girl? Due date? Name ideas?

Due date? I have no idea when baby Middleton is due! James and Alizee announced the pregnancy in early July, so she would have been post 3 months there. If we assume she was exactly 3 months on July 5th, she would be due in January 2024. So, I think she'll be due in late December and it will be a Christmas baby

Name ideas? I have absolutely no idea! Will they go traditional English? French? What is Alizee's middle name? Her dad, Jean-Gabriel, died in 2021 and her mum is called Laurence, which is a traditionally male name. I think they'll mix - go French and English, so something like:

Boy - Jules Wiliam; Michael Gabriel; Isaac Jean; Hugo Laurence

Girl - Chloe Laurent; Romy Rose, Adele Jean

What are your predictions for Josiah’s and Lauren’s c baby name?

That's a great question and a fun task for me! I had considered doing predictions for Baby C but decided against it since I didn't think there was any chance we'd find out the name anyway. But let's go for it!

Name Predictions for Swanson-Duggar #2 - Boy

We have speculated that this baby is a boy because of the notable absence of bows in pics we have seen, although it's possible it could be a girl too. I will only include boy predictions in this post.

Previous Naming Information

Josiah Matthew Duggar and Lauren Milagro (Swanson) Duggar share one child together, Bella Milagro Duggar (b. 2019) in addition to this speculated baby boy. Additionally, the couple suffered a miscarriage before Bella's birth, and they named this lost baby Asa. The couple has confirmed they are doing an alphabet naming theme, so this baby's name should begin with C- unless they have lost another pregnancy prior to this one.

Preliminary Predictions

Since we have a clear, confirmed theme, I'll begin by making a list of C- boy names in the top 500 or so on the Social Security list from 2021, the most recent year data is available. I will be excluding Charles/Charlie from the list though because this is the name of John and Abbie's second child. Even though he was born after this speculated SiRen offspring, I don't think John and Abbie would have chosen a name already used by another couple.

I think that gives us a pretty good selection, although there are already some I'd think they'd be much more likely to use than others. I will add another into the mix that wasn't in the top 500 but is Biblical and could still be a contender: Canaan.

As for the middle name, I would say it's pretty likely they would use Josiah's middle name, Matthew. Other contenders might be Dwain or Charles after Lauren's dad.

My Final Predictions

This is a little difficult because the styles and popularity of Asa and Bella are so different. It is nice knowing that there is a definite theme though. I would say the five most likely contenders for the first name in my opinion are Carter, Cameron, Connor, Caden/Cayden/Caiden, and Canaan. However, if Caleb were not the name Michelle had given to one of her pregnancy losses it would be my frontrunner. I don't know if that's enough to prevent them from using it, but it gives me pause at least. Cooper also gives me the same "nicknamey, dog-name" vibe that Bella has.

Overall, I think my top choice is Caden or some spelling variety of that with the middle name Matthew. Here is my list of top ten first and middle name combinations.

Smith Bates #4 Name Predictions

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Tori's fourth baby in the space of 45 months? Ouch, rather Tori than me! Mothers Day 2022 brought a rare gift for us snarkers - three pregnancy announcements in a single day. Tori and Bobby are due to welcome a little girl in August, or possibly July because of her blood clotting disorder. I was expecting Tori and Bobby's next baby to be a boy before they announced.

First Name

Charlotte's name is far lot more classic and traditional than Kade and Kolter's, although Kade is more of a nickname as he is named after his father Robert 'Bobby' Ellis Smith III and his ancestors. The year of Charlotte's birth, 2021, the name ranked in at position #3 on the SSA name rankings.

Charlotte is of course the name of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, middle child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. This is arguably what the name is most famous for in modern times. I do think it's possible that Tori likes 'royal' names for girls, although she doesn't actively follow any of the royal family on Instagram. Fun fact; fundies who follow the Cambridges include Jill Rodrigues, Hannah Duggar, Alyssa Webster and Bethany (Wissmann) Beasley. Anyway, an alternative is that Tori simply likes trendy names for girls that rank higher than Kade and Kolter in the stats. I certainly think Baby Smith-Bates will have a name that is much more common than her brothers'.

Middle Name

Ellis doesn't count because it's an inherited family name. Kolter and Charlotte's middle names, Gray and Raine, didn't rank in the SSA name stats. Colour names such as Gray were trendy a couple of years ago. Raine seems to be more of a weather/nature inspired name, which are quite trendy right now. Maybe Tori has a C first name and weather middle name theme going on for her daughters. Raine rhymes with her own middle name, Layne, though so maybe the middle name will be a other that rhymes with her own middle name.

idk if it's been talked about before but suzanne collins never misses a BEAT when it came to names, specifically coriolanus snow and dr volumnia gaul. just from their first names alone you can already guess what type of role might play between them (well... if you've read shakespeare's coriolanus that is. i do recommend it btw).

a lot of bits were taken from shakespeare's play for tbosas like the motif with scars / wounds / the body as being a microcosm of the nation, the common people fighting up against the government, coriolanus' hatred of the common people wanting to be "equal" to him, the rebel arc etc etc but i'm soooo so so interested in the fact that dr gaul was named volumnia and coriolanus is coriolanus because in the play, coriolanus' mother's name is volumnia!

volumnia is arguably the only female character in the play that has any depth (i am so sorry virgilia). his mother shapes her son into the warrior he is. she reminds him at every turn that he is nothing more than a weapon to be wielded. in fact, she's the one who gets her son to come back from his "revolt" against rome which ultimately lead to his demise. this parallels tbosas in the same way because dr gaul took coriolanus and molded him into the villain you would see in thg trilogy. she brought him back from d12 and then brought about the end of his humanity (a death, so to speak—at the end of the book he said something similar to this to try to save himself from lucy gray's suspicions but he was right because he did kill a part of himself to be where he is)! coriolanus snow's mother is present but off-page. her ghost haunts him, comforts him, but the 'mother' figure is the ever-present, all-knowing dr gaul.

Name Predictions for Caldwell-Duggar #4 - Girl

This is part two of name predictions for Joe and Kendra’s rumored fourth baby, girl edition! As mentioned in the first post, I strongly suspect this baby is a boy, but I might as well cover my bases. Plus girls’ names are a little more fun in this case since they already have two daughters to go off of vs. only one son. 

Previous Naming Information

This was discussed at length in the previous post, but Joe and Kendra have three previous children: Garrett David (b. 2018), Addison Renee (b. 2019), and Brooklyn Praise (b. 2021). Their only son, Garrett, was given a family name as his first name. Garrett is both the middle name of his father Joe and the first name of Joe’s mother Michelle’s father Garrett Ruark. David does not have any family ties that I know of (other than Joe’s brother John David - probably a coincidence), but is a classic, Biblical name.

 The girls’ names are a different story. Both of their first names are a style I like to call “trendy in 2013.” Additionally, all children have names with double-letters thus far, which could be unintentional, but also might suggest a pattern. For the middle names, Renee is Kendra’s middle name, like Garrett is Joe’s. Brooklyn’s middle name of Praise completely throws me for a loop though. I guess we could take this to mean we can expect virtue names moving forward, but I don’t know since I would have excepted Grace, Faith, or Hope long before Praise.

Preliminary Predictions

I like to make a list of all the double-letter names from the Social Security Administration’s list of top 500 baby names, so I will do that here. I will exclude any first names belonging to other GrandDuggars, as well as any that don’t make sense for Joe and Kendra due to language, religious affiliation other than Christian, etc. Names that aren’t exactly the same as another GrandDuggar but are really close, or names that have been used as middle names for other GrandDuggars are included but struck out.

Of these, the names that stand out to me as potential choices are Charlotte, Savannah, Lillian, Hannah, Everlee, Brianna, Paislee, Lucille, Summer, and Alyssa.

And some non-double-letter names that might be a fit? Perhaps Olivia, Sophie, Kinsley,  Madeline/Madelyn, Natalie, Haven, Reagan, Emerson, Presley, and Kimberly.

For the middle name, I'm thinking virtue names, but not just the more typical virtue names like Grace, Faith, Hope, and Joy. Going off of Praise, maybe more unusual ones like Mercy, Shalom, Glory, Charity, Constance, Agape, and Patience. Maybe Kendra will pick Christina after her mother, but I kind of doubt it.

My Final Predictions

Even if Joe and Kendra do publicly announce this baby (which is seeming more unlikely every day), I really really think it is a boy. I guess this list could be applied to any future girls they have though! I mentioned in the boys’ post that I prioritized names ending in “-t” because I thought that would pair well with Garrett. I like the similar idea of names ending in “-n” for girls in theory, but that isn’t necessarily reflected in my top choices. If they do have a double letter theme, I think it will be Charlotte for a girl. I think this would go well with all three of her older siblings’ names, is a similar length to the siblings’ names, and would even establish an “A, B, C” pattern for girls’ names. If the name doesn’t have double letters, I'm feeling Natalie. Natalie reached its peak in popularity in 2008 and has decreased consistently since then.

I think Faith has a really good chance of being chosen as a middle name, especially sharing the “long -a” sound with Renee and Praise. Part of me really really wants her to pick Glory though as it’s a guilty pleasure name of mine.
