GAY TIMES: You’ve been bombarded over the years about Jaskier’s potential fruity feelings towards Geralt, so how does it feel for your character to finally be canonically queer?
Joey: He’s canonically queer in the TV show, which is a departure from the books and the games, as far as I know. It was wonderful to see a panromantic or pansexual person in such a flagship show such as this. There are shows that do explore sexuality and equally valued sexualities and identities but, from my reading, this is the first major one in a fantasy show.
A big part of our conversations were working out, ‘What is the history of LGBTQ+ relationships within this world of dragons and other things?’ And so, that’s an ongoing conversation that I’m so excited to, not only share with the world in season three but with season four and five onwards, find out where Jaskier ends up.
@kajaono,
JOEY FINALLY USED THE WORDS PANROMANTIC AND PANSEXUAL TO REFER TO JASKIER's SEXUALITY!!!

PLEASE tell us about your thoughts on crowley's chronic pain
OKAY if you insist hehe
So my whole thing with Crowley and his chronic pain comes from the fact that he doesn’t have complete control over the shape of his human form. This is supported by the text both in the book and the tv show in that he cannot make his eyes appear anything other than snake-like, and he loses a bit of a grip on his human form and becomes more snake-like at certain points (his eyes going completely yellow, “when he loses himself he has a tendency to hiss” etc etc)
So my whole idea is that his physical form as issued to him by Hell HATES being human shaped. He was literally issued a snake body. And he makes it look human shaped. But his body doesn’t like it and resists certain things, to the point where he literally doesn’t have full or constant control over what snake-like traits remain. So his body always wants to be snake-shaped and is CONSTANTLY resisting his human shape which causes him to constantly be in pain.
I think this mainly manifests in his back, because snakes have hundreds of vertebrae and humans only have like 20/30. So I think his spine has way more vertebrae than any human. I also think it manifests around his shoulders and his hips, because those are where his limbs connect to his body which he’s not supposed to have. His legs and arms always kind of ache but they do so especially around where the joints connect.
So anyway that’s my spiel. And I do think that being in snake form relieves him of the pain however it’s my personal opinion that Crowley strongly dislikes shapeshifting. This is supported by the text in the novel when he changes into a scary creature to freak that one guy out and then immediately afterwards is like “I hate having to do that. I’m always afraid I’ll forget how to change back” so we can draw the conclusion that Crowley loves his human shape (it’s literally called “his favorite shape” in the novel) and would be absolutely devastated if he lost access to it. in conclusion Crowley’s presentation as a man is very specific and deliberate and causes him to live with chronic pain every day but it’s his favorite shape and I believe any other shape forces him to experience a kind of body dysmorphia.
