I kinda wish Magni and Modi had survived, especially with a plot line of Magni falling out of Asgard’s favor and Modi becoming the new golden child because Thor feels so guilty about beating him nearly to death.

Thor’s anti-giant rhetoric towards Atreus isn’t really addressed, but it would have been nice development for Thor to see his internalized hatred come home to roost if Magni was now facing abuse for being mostly giant. Especially from Heimdall and Modi, who now has Odin really whispering in his ear.

Modi gets an ego boost but doesn’t realize Heimdall and others are laughing at him, not with him. They don’t actually like him for who he is, they just hang around him cause he’s the heir to Mjölnir. But, Modi for once, feels like he belongs.

It’d be interesting to see Magni and Modi’s perspective’s on Sif after she goes sober for Thrúd and her thoughts on Modi heading down a dark path and Magni being seen as an outsider to his own family. Maybe Thrúd gets to open up and finally bond with at least one of her brothers. Then, there’s Jarnsaxa getting addressed and whether or not Thor killed her or if Odin had something to do with it.

Magni and Modi

So if Modi and Magni were brought back, I feel like after the abuse they delt with they will have a lot to deal with but it will only come after a while of conflict. Both will regress different ways.

Magni would inherent Thor's mindset of being just a destroyer and would probably just go find a conflict or a war to be part of. This would mean that Thor would have to go find his son and bring him back. This would probably end up in a fight between father and son. However I would not see Thor actually hitting Magni at this point and just block and trying to subdue his son until he is willingly to listen.

Modi would leave instantly. Given his motif of being a "coward", I just think he both hates conflict and at some point has anxiety. He would probably inherent his father's alcoholism, to drown his past abuse. His journey for forgiveness with Thor would take way longer. I have an idea in which it would take Modi seeing his own son interact with Thor, and finally seeing how much his father has changed. In turn begrudgingly allowing his children to develop a relationship with their grandfather. Perhaps Thor could even save them, furthering Thor's role as the protective dad and finally embracing it without odin's influence.

Interested to know what Thrúd’s relationships with her brothers were like. Magni seems so far removed from her since he was well into adulthood when she was born and the golden child. He probably was decent to her, though. Distant, but decent.

She seems to secretly miss Modi but seems almost relieved he’s gone. I wonder if he took out his frustrations on her since she was the beloved baby. Thor even says Modi had “problems,” so he was probably troubled and Thrúd probably recognized that. Maybe she doesn’t mourn him so much but mourns what their relationship could’ve been.

I had a realization about Modi.

When you first go to Asgard as Atreus and meet Sif, she's angry at you, due to what you did to Modi. Which tells you she resented Atreus for what he did.

When you meet Thrud, she tells you no one liked Modi and that they're better off without him and actively tries to be friends with you, which at least tells you she didn't resent Atreus despite him needlessly killing her brother.

When you work with Thor the first time and he pins you to the wall with Mjolnir, he starts with "Modi had some problems." That and the first battle with Kratos tells you that Modi was regarded lowly even by Thor and Thor refuses to acknowledge his own role in Modi's death.

When you meet Sif again with Thrud, she angrily scolds Thrud and says that she shouldn't be with Atreus because of "What his father did." not "What he and his father did.".

and in Ragnarok, when you meet Thrud again, she says "You're a killer just like your father and you're here to kill us all." implying that she thought he wasn't a killer.

All of these facts point to one conclusion:

They never told Thrud what happened to her brother.

She thinks both her brothers died in battle. She doesn't know what Thor did.

Which makes sense, but also ...... that's fucked up.
