All good art cannot help but confront denial on its way to truth.
- Pete Townshend, The Who
The crowned king of smashing guitars is none other than The Who’s Pete Townshend. In a sense he was the godfather of guitar smashing on stage. The year was 1964. The Who were playing a small pub in London known as the Railway Tavern in Harrow and Wealdstone. At some point, Townshend’s Rickenbacker headstock hit the venue’s low ceiling, cracking it with a thud. When Townshend saw that none of the other band members seemed to notice or care, he decided to make it noticeable and smashed the guitar to the floor and against his amp, shattering it to pieces. And thus began a decades-long destructive affair between Pete and his many guitars.
Townshend would go on to smash more guitars on more stages in more countries the world over than any guitarist in rock ‘n’ roll history. He set the bar high on the act, performing it with an intensity and poetic presentation that bordered on dance. He would often raise his Gibson or Fender high over his head, holding it to the sky - a kind of sacrifice to the muse, to the crowd, to the moment. From there, the smashing took many directions. From bouncing the bottom of the body at the strap-button end off the stage over and over, to wielding it like an axe and chopping down a mic stand, to ramming it over and over into the drum stand or into a tower of speakers, Townshend made each guitar smashing an unforgettable moment for the audience.
In 2020, Roger Daltrey, the lead singer of The Who, perhaps with mischief in mind, said that Pete Townshend would creep around the stage collecting up all the bits of smashed guitars so he could glue them back together again. Which on the face of it wasn’t very rock’n’roll. It gets worse. According to Daltrey, to make it easier to repair his broken guitars, Townshend went to great lengths to smash them up as carefully as possible.
On the How to Wow podcast, Daltrey revealed the careful process behind Townshend’s destruction. “They were real guitars, but we worked out very cleverly that very rarely did the neck break. As long as the neck didn’t break, you could glue the body back,” he said. But Daltrey did charitably add that also pointed out: “It was costly in glue.” Fans of Townshend believed that Daltrey was deliberately trying to sabotage Townshend’s reputation. The pair interacted as little as possible during their time together and especially since the band broke up, doing separate interviews, having separate backstage areas at concerts and even recording entire albums without seeing each other.
However the story has a ring of truth to it. Pete Townshend once confessed inhis autobiography that, “The Who got paid 4000 pounds during those days, but we always smashed our equipment that cost more than 5000 pounds.“ Listen, it’s important to remember that even rock stars are people, and they have to deal with the same mundanities as the rest of us. Why Townshend had to glue all his guitars back together was because it was expensive to replace the smashed guitars and The Who were as frugal as they came.
In any case Townshend helped to set in stone one of rock’n’ roll’s defining images, the art of guitar smashing, unlike any other musical genre. In doing so he paved the way for the likes of other legendary guitarists like Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix to smash their guitars during their live performances on stage.

OK I SAW THAT U HAD MATCHUPS OPEN I CAME RUNNING
ALSO NO RUSH, TAKE CARE OF URSELF BTW
so if its okay, i'd like a twst matchup plz!
personality;. I’m a 6w5 ENTP- except i dont really fit into the usual ENTP stereotype. it kind of actually relates to a lot of deeper psychology functions in each personality type. and i usually follow carl jung’s belief that each aspect of a personality is still in a person(even though it isnt common in them) and it can eventually be developed over time soooo yeah
in general, i can be pretty bright and chaotic but I can be super chill when i’m not in the mood for it. i kinda like being a menace and pranking people. sometimes, when I’m feeling extremely hyper, I like to make violent and/or flirty jokes. and i also laugh at my own jokes(but its kinda funny) and i also like to seem overly confident in myself. usually, im straightforward and blunt with people. however, with strangers, i’m more quiet and i won’t really talk to you unless you approach me first and then, i kinda of start smiling and being really friendly.
otherwise, i can actually be really responsible and smart. it’s just that i act dumb at first especially since it’s amusing to see how people would react to it
- Hobbiesss; i really, really like to research online about specific topics or listen to educational podcasts/documentaries/etc. or sometimes, im usually playing video games, or im simply talking to friends or sometimes, i like to chill and read
- dislikes; iii hate insects like i will cry at the sight of one. i dont like ppl who sugarcoat things and/or don’t actually mean what they say. I literally hate feeling bored like its the worst feeling in the world. i also tend to feel a little intimidated with overly tall people that are like over 6ft especially since i am 4”9
- likes; I rlly like horror moviesss/video games and music. i like video games in general too though and i rlly like learning. i also like mysterious and thriller stufffff. i also rlly like rings, i love them so much. anddd my birdss, i love my pets so muchhh- i also really like philosophy. i love math a lot mostly because i’m really good at it and especially because i love problem-solving and coming up with ideas
Thank you for sending in a match-up; I think that either Idia Shroud or Ace Trappola would be good matches for you!
Tumblr media
Idia may be quite tall but, given how bad his posture is, his height shouldn't affect you too horribly considering he's always slouching. You two surprisingly work well together despite your differing energy levels and desire to cause mischief. You both enjoy playing video games and have vast amounts of knowledge on various topics, so Idia would enjoy spending time with you (when you're not too full of energy, that is). Idia would also find your sense of humor to be funny as he seems like the type of person who also laughs at his own jokes, so you two kind of hype each other up when the situation calls for it. He's also a very straightforward person who doesn't sugarcoat things, so most people agree that you two make a great match (even if they may not always appreciate your blunt nature). Idia would enjoy watching horror movies with you, probably laughing and pointing out different inaccuracies throughout the film. He's also a big fan of animals, especially cats, so he'd probably love to be able to pet and play with yours!
Tumblr media
Ace would most definitely be your partner in crime. The two of you constantly get into trouble together whenever and wherever you can given that you both have fun when it comes to playing pranks on others. Ace would find your bluntness to be respectable, but also funny in certain situations since you don't sugarcoat your words (even in situations that may need a gentler delivery). He would also find it interesting that you play dumb around others, especially since he knows you’re a very intelligent and somewhat responsible person; the duality of your personality keeps him on his toes, for better or for worse. Ace, too, also hates feeling bored, so you two would probably always be doing something together whether it be visiting an amusement park or just window shopping together on Sage's Island. He also appreciates that you love horror movies since it's one of his favorite genres as well, so you two can go to the movie theatre and watch them together when you're not busy with class!

I’d love to know more about Simon the cat in your modern au!
this is the au!
so simon is a black cat that followed vax home from the store one day. he just walked into their building right behind him, up the stairs, and into the apartment like he's always lived there, meowing and chattering the entire way. keyleth saw him and like "i mean he's cute but you got a cat without talking me??" and vax was like "uh no the cat is just...here now" and he never left.
the biggest concern wrt simon was that he'd eat the plants but he's actually more interested in the dirt. his favorite spot in the apartment is in the pot of one of the bigger plants that sits right next to a window, so the potting soil is super warm. he's always dragging dirt around the apartment and it drives keyleth crazy. they've taken him out to the park and things like that, and he doesn't seem to hate the outdoors by any means but he's not a runner, he's content with just staying inside and sleeping.
keyleth and vax mostly just treat him like a third roommate, except he is endless spoiled with whatever cat treats and toys he wants. he loves to brush right up against the mic whenever keyleth is recording podcast episodes so there are countless hours of outtakes of her like "SIMON NO" or "VAX COME GET YOUR CAT." fans of the pod have sent in a truly staggering amount of fanart of simon, simon in the plants, simon causing mischief, simon in flower crowns, and keyleth keeps all of it.
when percy and vex get trinket (also a stray!), they introduce the two animals carefully, but street recognizes street, and simon loves to ride trinket's back like he's a roomba. as far as simon is concerned, trinket is a big heating pad that sometimes barks at ppl outside, and as far as trinket is concerned, simon is a snuggly stuffed animal that really purrs!

While shippers keep track of CT's and S's lives everything they distort is factual correct. No games played as they want followers to believe.
- Spotting C/T & baby is normal and usually people respect her privacy - - C didn't hint anything, she posted a thank you for SOC invite - - Lauren Lyle interviewer mentioned his connection to OL through his good friend T who is married to CB - - Not the first time cast members acknowledge SC aren't together - - CT not doing an IFTA pap walk but attending together as a married couple - - C was happy to be out attending The Fratellis - - CB cut hair for a new movie just like she did for FvF - - CB only mentions T if asked - - CB attending play in NY could also have had another professional reason - - CB can be tagged by friends as normal people do.
SH is doing his own thing completely separate from CB.

Since February, when the wrap was announced, we've been thinking about some possible mischief that could happen until this season of Droughlander is over.
It was a joke between friends, but looking at the number of hits, I think these 'hunches' could be written about here.

26 - Sam appears on a talk show and claims to be single once again ✔️
27 - The Nic couple do something completely over-the-top, drawing the attention of the entire fandon to themselves ✔️

29 - BONUS: Cody Kennedy follows Sam and he follows her back (Cody deactivates his IG) ✔️
30 - BONUS: Victoria L (ex Heughan) posts selfie on a beach in Fife, with friends and family - including Sam and Chrissie Heughan, sparking a HUGE row in the fandon ✔️
31 - BONUS: Cait (after a sighting of the happy family in Glasgow) is spotted at a theatre in NY, while Sam, also in the US, was missing ✔️
32 - BONUS Damage containment: Cait appears in a random place with T ✔️
33 - BONUS: Cleveden appears on estate agent's website, put up for sale ✔️
34 - BONUS: Cait and Sam's recordings end at almost the same time and both disappear for a week, then appear out of nowhere in different places around the world ✔️
35 - BONUS: weekly rounds of "Look here, don't look there" ✔️
36 - BONUS: Anna Modler, as well as getting married, is pregnant ✔️
37 - BONUS: Cait is tagged by a friend, watching an Irish football match while Sam is obviously in another part of the world ✔️
38 - BONUS: Graham and Garance launch a drinks company and a big row breaks out in the fandon ✔️
Some things didn't happen, other things happened more than once, overlapping or combining with each other … but some really unexpected things have happened …
It's been fun and it doesn't have to be much more than that.
Anyway, Droughlander isn't over. We'll see how many more items are ticked off this list, or what else might happen …
Sep 1st, 2023
To sum her piece of bullshit up, they are celebrating not knowing where C has been and pretending in their delusion that she was with S but never seen either while he's broadcast his every move.

New Podcast Honors U.S. Special Forces: Wondery Introduces The Grinch
Tumblr media
Down Range podcast honors U.S. Special Forces “Down Range,” is a new podcast premiering November 2 hosted by actor, best-selling author, filmmaker, and former Navy SEAL Remi Adeleke (Plane, Terminal List, Ambulance, and Special Forces Fox). The limited series honors the American Special Forces, bringing to life heroic true stories of combat with veterans who were involved firsthand. “Down Range” highlights the men and women who dedicate their lives to defend the U.S., while shining a light on highly emotional, first-person narratives of heroism and sacrifice. Throughout the season, Adeleke and his co-host, former Army Ranger and Lieutenant Colonel Rich Choppa, speak to different members of the American Special Forces, including: * Sergeant Michael Harryman, a retired Army Infantryman and veterans' advocate who served in the Army as the highest level of military sniper, where he received four Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star *Sergeant Major Hamody Jasim, who helped the US Intelligence community gather information leading to the capture of some of Al-Qaeda's most dangerous commanders *Kayla Williams, who is currently working as a United States government official and previously served as an Arabic linguist/interpreter and SIGINT operations specialist in the Army, among others. ************************************************************** Wondery announces The Grinch Holiday podcast It's about time podcasting got more involved in Christmas. Wondery, an Amazon company, has announced ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Talk Show, a brand-new original podcast series from Wondery and Dr. Seuss Enterprises. Featuring comedian James Austin Johnson (Saturday Night Live) as The Grinch, the series will debut exclusively on Wondery+ on November 1 before becoming widely available starting on November 6, with new episodes releasing weekly through December 21. From stealing Christmas to stealing podcast listeners' attention, this fun-filled variety podcast starring everyone’s favorite holiday curmudgeon is a delight for listeners of all ages. In each episode, The Grinch sits down with a celebrity guest(s) including Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson East, WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, actress Skai Jackson, fellow SNL-cast member Bobby Moynihan, and comedian and actor Patton Oswalt, who will try to convince The Grinch to embrace the spirit of Christmas. Also making this holiday season a “treat” for all furry fans of The Grinch, Purina will serve as the presenting sponsor of ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Talk Show. So every Who, young and old, gather ‘round with some Who pudding and roast beast, and get ready for a delightfully Grinchy new holiday tradition! “I have always felt a kinship with The Grinch, and while some actors wouldn’t touch this role with a 39-and-a-half foot pole, I am honored to be the voice behind everyone’s favorite deplorable character this holiday season,” said James Austin Johnson. “Getting into the character's shoes – or rather, furry green feet – has been a wild and rewarding ride. I can't wait for listeners to join us live from Who-Ville for some mischief, and maybe even some fun.” Listen to the Brand-New Official Trailer HERE James Austin Johnson is a comedian originally from Nashville and a featured cast member on Saturday Night Live. His spot-on impression of Trump, paired with his improvisational ramblings about Weird Al, Julia Louis Dreyfus, and Scooby-Doo have garnered over five million views, with profiles on Austin Johnson in Vanity Fair, Slate, Mashable, and VICE. ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Talk Show is the second series to be announced under a collaboration between podcast studio Wondery and Dr. Seuss Enterprises. The first series, The Cat in the Hat Cast, is a “fantastical variety show-style podcast series hosted by everyone’s favorite red and white hat-wearing Cat.”

My access to book is very limited ever since I moved to the border between Indo and PNG. So here comes the rereading... Bright is a novel written by Duanwad Pimwana and is translated into English by Mui Poopoksakul. I had a buddy read on this novel with the one and only Prabda Soon-die-hard-fan @teguhafandi and the podcast queen @patricia.wulandari There is no plot-line in this novel as the story is centred around an abandoned five-year-old Kompol. His mother left him and the baby boy for another man after the husband kept hitting her. The father returned to the ex-wife taking Kompol’s baby brother. The family is all scattered out. Kompol’s parents keep coming in and out of Kompol’s life; leaving him collectively adopted by the community: Hia Chong, Aunt Mon, the womaniser Old Tia and many more. This little boy makes a bit of money from being a masseuse for Dang and also as a helper for Hia Chong. Kompol’s collection of incidences consists of sad and happy stories of his childhood. I know there are some sad parts, but I still cannot help myself but to smile while reading the parts about his innocence and foolishness. Kampol and his friends make me giggle with all of their usual childhood mischief. They befriend the stray dogs, playing with marbles, bounce-back balls which remind me of my childhood. What I also love from this novel is the fact that Pimwana does not only give me a joyous depiction of childhood but also a portrait of working class in Thailand. I really recommend this book especially to those who enjoy sweet stories (the ending is sweet even it ends tragically) about family. hi , I hope your having a good day? I was wondering if matchups are still open if not feel free to ignore this. If they are open can I get a romantic matchup for obey me and mha? My sexuality is straight and I am a 20 y/o female. I am 5’5 (165cm), I have a slim pear figure. I have long straight brown hair (waist length) and youthful face with cheeckbones and catlike features. After meeting me for the first time people would describe me as cold-hearted, mean, arrogant, and closed off. I am very observant and can read everyone (I have met) like an open book.My love language to receive and give is act of service,My s/o has to be someone who supports my rights and wrongs. Who can be my partner in crime. I love reading (especially psychological thrillers) and playing board games such chess, checkers, clue. Or watching true crime documentaries, listening to music. My favorite artists are; The Weeknd, Lana del Rey, marina and the diamonds, the neighborhood, Melanie Martinez, Mitski and Chase Atlantic. My favorite movies are black swan, perfect blue, the love witch, gone girl, promising young woman, thirteen, look away and virgin suicides
Another thing about me is that I am a perfectionist and very self critical and yet I am lazy and procrastinate (I don’t even know how that works but that’s me).
I love getting the princess treatment but I don’t mind babying my s/o.
I am a girly girl and I love it! My favorite aesthetics are coquette, femme fatale and old money. I love doing my nails, hair and make up. I also genuinely believe that women have no red flags (they are fun facts yk).

╰┈➤ I’d match you with… Hizashi Yamada!
╰┈➤ I’d match you with… Asmodeus!
Tumblr media
you mention anything abt aesthetics and Hizashi is all over it, he literally loves “dressing the part” sm<33
tries to comfort you when/if you make any self critical statements, will otherwise try to help you with said task if you need it
his life is part of a true crime podcast, definitely had an obsession over all genres of podcasts when starting out on his own radio show
definitely cries during board games when he first tries them, his head and pride hurt but he then acts like he’s king when he wins one single round
he hates uno if that’s what you’re playing
you don’t have to ask, he’s gonna spoil you so damn much
Tumblr media
“Haha! I remember that podcast, I used to listen to them all the time, nonstop!”
Tumblr media
Like hizashi, Asmodeus will spoil the both of you sm<33 especially for clothing and aesthetics
loves loves loves old money aesthetic!! makes him feel so fancy<3
will be your partner in crime! loves the mischief of it all, especially if it’s to party
isn’t a big fan of board games unless there’s a bet going on
will blast “california girls” while doing make up, and use his hairbrushes as mics
tells you “I have an eye for perfection, and you’re the definition” as his way of comfort
Tumblr media
”You have no idea how much trouble we’d be in if Lucifer catches us.. Hehe, it’s so fun though!”

16th October 2021
The highest of highs and the lowest of lows. That's the shortest description of the 2nd day of Denver Con
Jensen's, Misha's and J2's panels took place. Starting point was strong with everyone fawning over Jensen and Misha. And the photo ops. And their interactions
Fanfom delighted to see Misha and Jensen interact after over a year of no content. They reportedly fake-almost-kiss during their talks inbetween photo ops
Jensen says there were lots of rewrites done to 15x20 even before covid. Says that Dean dying alwayd was the endgame. Says he had to fight for Dean to die standing up and proud and not cradled by Sam. Mentions the death scene was paiful and awful - not only for Jensen and Jared but also for the crew. Says some of them had to leave because they felt attached to the characters as well. Reveals that he didn't mourn Dean because Dean is part of him and always will be. He also teases the return of supernatural. Says that he believes it's stay around for years to come in some shape or form - whether it'll be a friends-style reunion or spin-off or a movie or a redo in 3 years or all the above. Asked whether Jack being a girl would influence the story says no and mention that there bever was a discussion if Jack identifies as a boy. And then adds stupid not well-thought joke and makes fandom mad
Misha briefly joins the panel and they talk.. Stuff. For a while. They talk covid ofc
Misha talks rater interesting stuff. Says that the 2nd season of Bridgewater podcast is coming. Thinks that Cas' favourite place in heaven would be at the back of the impala, or in the bunker. And wherever exactly cas is in heaven - he is content. Says the confession scene was his favourite out of the whole series. And that he misses all the mischiefs they were engaging in during the shooting. The running late panel gets ended at the worst possible moment - while fan is waiting for an answer to very emotionally charged question - by Jensen's and Jared's appearience.
Jensen and Jared are rumoured to be arguing inbetween photo ops
Majority of J2 panel runs smoothly. Asked if they liked the finale Jared says "they both died" indicating rather not positive feelings regarding 15x20. Jensen praises Misha's performance in 15x18. But shit hits the fan with the very last question. Asked about just queer. Those two white men malfunction. Spewing just vile, stupid shit unfit to consumption. Or print for that matter. But they bend over themselves. Jared outright denies that Cas confession was romantic. Because "basically Cas is just built differently". Jensen is not alot better, starting off strong with "Dean didn't realise till confession" but then after being interrupted by jared just shrugs through majority of his ramble. And then finishes with "it's up to interpretation" classic.
What will happen tomorrow

God, Jonny not understanding why people like A Guest for Mr Spider has me tearing my hair out because like. It’s not about Mr Spider! It’s not about the horror story you’re telling within the episode it’s about the horror story that’s Jon’s entire life! We care about him!
It’s not people’s favourite episode because it’s a creepy children’s book and we like that (Even though it’s still Pretty Damn Cool), it’s a favourite because “No-one ever believes me when I tell them my age. I don’t know if it’s the already greying hair or something in my demeanour, but they always act surprised when I mention being a child in the Nineties.” and “ My parents had passed away when I was too young to really remember them;“ and “the resentment she felt at having to raise another was never something she completely managed to hide from me.” and “And I was hardly an easy child to deal with. While I may not have shared the inclinations of my peers towards active mischief, I was precocious and impatient, quick to talk back, and even quicker to wander off whenever I grew bored.” and “I have since come to the conclusion that I was a deeply annoying child” and “Did you… clean the kitchen?” and “Ooh… I think I’m alright. I was going to make a cup of tea if you want one?” and “Oh, it’s fine. Though I don’t know what sort of “employment dispute” leaves you without a change of clothes.”
It’s not about the horror, it’s about the humanity!!
Episode 81 is one of the first episodes that, to me at least, really made Jon feel like a person and not just a vehicle for plot. On a relisten now I can point at little bits and go “Ah, he does that because of that” or certain details being cute when I’m going through the episode with a fine tooth comb but nothing hits quite like 81. Firstly there’s the statement itself and holy shit is this a backstory episode? It’s a backstory episode! We’ve spent 80 episodes with Jon so far and we finally get to know Why He’s Like That. But it does so much more than provide context, too, it’s just... So well written. We get to learn that he’s fairly young but looks older, and he’s an orphan, and he was raised by someone emotionally distant and these little details just build up a picture of him that makes everything we’ve seen so far slot into place. You learn he’s always been a bit of an old man, never chaotic just restless and curious, and that tracks too. And then it hits you with “Deeply annoying child” and you want to hug him because oh my god you were a kid! The self esteem on this man is skimming the ground and you want to reassure him and yet at the same time, a large portion of the fans being neurodivergent means we go “Oh, yeah, this is all incredibly relatable, big same”
And then there’s the post statement. And Georgie Barker. First off there’s the Very Good Energy of the scene but you realise that that’s just an out-of-world thing from having two married actors get to do a scene together. But within the world it’s like. Holy shit. Who is this?? Jon has friends? Because Georgie is the first person we hear him even mention in 80 whole episodes who he knows that isn’t related to the institute and suddenly he’s living in her house. And we know her too!! We call Jon a little shit because this is Georgie from Melanie’s statement and he was so committed to the perfectly professional head archivist bit that he pretended not to know her and ugh. It’s just wonderful to know that he has someone.
And the banter! He cleaned her kitchen.... The fondness when he talks about The Admiral because you’re realising mr super serious head archivist has a soft spot for cats and then he offers her tea which is something he so clearly picked up from Martin as a love language and.... and not to mention we now for the first time have a mental image of what he’s wearing, and it’s ghost podcast merch
It’s just a wonderful wonderful episode because it’s so rewarding when you’ve been through 80 episodes beforehand. It felt like a payoff for the time you’ve committed, something that just makes you adore the protagonist because you realise what a good character he is, through seeing him being nervous and vulnerable but not scared. He’s awkward around Georgie because he’s trying not to get in her way and he’s acting in a way we saw him dismiss Martin for in S1 and it’s just this beautiful peeling away of layers and the pretence he put up when he was trying to be good at his job. You realise the Jon you’ve seen so far has been, in part, a lie and it’s so good
