many would call you a brazen youth, greeting all with a curt, and knowing tone while watching the ones gathered with the eyes of a predator. calm, sure, and collected while standing at an angle steps below the Sandu Shengshou, with both a scroll and book propped in the crook of your arm.
leading the conversation, and becoming silent only when a response is given or if the Sandu Shengshou himself speaks, or asks a question or for a response that went unanswered by those present in the meeting.
whispers circle around the room, you stand back straight, still at an angle with your eyes closed almost as if you're a paper doll waiting to be given life once more with an order.
neither you nor jiang cheng is fond of meetings where voices whisper plans or judgment without hiding it.
the quiet sound of jiang cheng slowly fiddling with zidian does not go unnoticed by you-- with a slight turn of your head and the opening of your eyes, you offer him a soft smile before returning to your previous state.
the meeting is dragged out and then adjourned for the day. leaving you with a bitter taste in your mouth while you bowed to the ones leaving. keeping your face neutral, and your eyes closed while you listened to what was being said.
"useless assistant"
"lacks a golden core, but so brazen."
"their position in this court must have been obtained through scheming alone."
"they should present their self in a more pleasant way than their master."
the comments go on, focusing on you-- knowing that if they said anything about jiang cheng then you would personally have a word with them later. in a less than friendly way.
the whispers are not wrong. you are a simple person. a normal person. a non-cultivator. on paper, you're jiang cheng's assistant and his closest ally.
other than that you are nothing more, but if you are able to continue being a brazen youth-- then you would like to consider yourself a friend to the sect leader of the jiang yunmeng sect, wielder of zidian, and a soft-hearted fool for those he loves.
"have you grown tired of snapping at any insult that is thrown?" jiang cheng's voice echoes in the empty room. you smile in response to his words.
"the insults were all directed at this one, if anywhere directed at you then this one would have pulled them to the side later-- but isn't it a blessing i remained silent? for if this one spoke then you would receive nothing, but complaints about this one's lack of respect."
jiang cheng simply sighs, you can hear how he moves from his seat, the sound of his footsteps echoing on the polished wooden floors before standing next to you. the sound of him fiddling with zidian (an unconscious habit of his when either lost in thought or sorting his emotions) you smile, reaching out to gently place your hand on his own.
"bah, we will reach an agreement before sundown tomorrow, come let us be there to greet jin ling when he arrives." jiang cheng spits out before he starts walking toward the docks. others would have only noticed his tone of voice and not the small skip in his step. happy to be out of the room, and happy at the arrival of his nephew. one of jiang cheng's many endearing traits that even he himself does not notice.
jin ling is welcomed back to yunmeng after a three-month stay at the golden carp tower to study the clan's history and their people.
he's doing well from the letters sent by both jin ling himself and his teachers. a source of pride and happiness for jiang cheng to know his nephew is doing well.
you stand a bit away, off to the side while uncle and nephew greet one another.
jiang cheng leans down to pat fairy on her head, praising her for doing well in watching out for jin lang while the young man jogs over to where you are. a smile on his face and your name is spoken aloud.
"welcome home." you smile and bow an action that earns one of jin lang's famous pouts before you stand straight once more. reaching out to pat jin lang's head.
you and fairy follow two steps behind jiang cheng and jin ling enjoying their conversation.
dinner is quiet, it's only when you walk around the table gathering dishes does jin ling speak.
"uncle, when are they going to join our family?" jin ling's words are that of an eight-year-old asking bout the equivalent of the weather. a valid question in his mind, but one that causes the adults in the room to react.
you almost drop the dishes, and jiang cheng coughs out some of his drink.
"y-young sir. a-are you asking when this one is going to join your family?" to your question, jin lang nods his head you can only sigh before speaking once more, "and why does the young sir... wish for this one to join your family?"
"because you're always here! you watch out for uncle, little fairy, and me-- we like you!" jin lang responds smiling.
"young sir... that is very kind of you to say, and tell me, but... this one is useless i offer no boon for a joining--" your words are cut short when jin lang looks at you, eyes wide and his teeth biting at his lip.
"do you not like us? do you hate us?"
"no young sir, this one does not hate or dislike either of you."
"then why?"
"this one has nothing to offer, except their life to service and nothing else." your response isn't what jin lang wanted to hear, standing up you can see that he's trying very hard not to cry before shouting and leaving with little fairy following behind him.
"fine! if you don't like us then leave! me and uncle, we will be fine on our own!"
the silence that hangs in the room is deafening, his words ringing in your ears. you gather the remaining dishes, rushing to avoid hearing jiang cheng's voice you excuse yourself.
you set about writing an apology letter to jiang cheng for not escorting him back to his chambers, and for jin lang's words. you write that you would accept whatever punishment for not properly doing your job and ensuring his safety.
you spend time in the yunmeg night market, finding an apology gift that would make jin lang happy-- it wouldn't due for him to be unhappy on his first night back.
you wait for punishment from jiang cheng, but one is never announced.

Lan Xichen • 蓝曦臣
Lan Xichen is very perceptive to those he keeps in his inner circle, as he always wants to treat the ones he cares about the best. For his brother, the disciples, and for you: he really does keep one eye open on everything, for anything.
However you meet him doesn't affect him as he does not discrimination against any person for their status, body, or quirks. If you hadn't passed so well back then, he notes it, but still treats you like any another man. If you have passed for a long time, he doesn't clue into anything except you're a very attractive man. He's very open about how he sees you too!
As your relationship grows and your lives intertwine more on their own during the setting peace (rising storms), you finally come out to him while you both enjoy your favorite drinks in the Gusu dining hall. It's not the most private place, but everyone can tell you both are having a deep discussion by how concentrated you both were, and gave you a respectable space to talk.
Lan Xichen listens intently and takes a sip of his tea, and can only smile back at you as he begins to speak. "I am glad you've opened up to me about this. Thank you for trusting me."
Nothing really changes between you two (unless you bind, then he might become more doting) and Lan Xichen does enjoy caring for you personally after you start going out officially. If he just happens to kiss you first because he's just so happy, can you blame him?
Jiang Cheng • 江澄
He had no way to know or suspect anything unless you're the type to strip at random, and guessing from how he had to take a minute to himself later: he isn't perceptive or knows exactly what to look for here to begin with.
Jiang Cheng is very paranoid and you can tell it's from the recent wave of demonic cultivators villagers he had on his hands, and you can tell he's still thinking about them while you both relax in his home. He was doing reports and had stains of ink on the side of his hands, but gave you his time anyways.
He had always made time for you in the past and the both of you were a unit to not mess with while doing paperwork. He was a rock to proper yourself on, but even Jin Ling knows that you're a man sturdy enough to take Jiang Cheng's issues on your shoulders. Neither of you two dragged each other down, you've only grown as far as you know and you hope it stays that way.
When you tell him, he was leaning on your shoulder while you were behind his desk, and it just felt right to tell him here. "... I couldn't tell, to be honest. Everyone is built differently with different quirks, and thank for telling me."
Something changes when you get into the heat of action, but Jiang Cheng doesn't mention anything about your person at all. You suspect the blushing and the new hand holding afterwards might mean you made him a bit more open.
Jin Guangyao • 金光瑶
Paranoia runs under his skin like fire after he had rid himself of his son and ex-fiance as his own form of mercy, the horrors he thinks about. But something about talking to you and having a grounded setting brings him back from his spiral.
His life is not easy to let other people in to listen for, and he's very guarded of what he doesn't want others to know. Lan Xichen, an important person to him, doesn't know what happened at the Nie manor. His ex-fiance never knew his secrets outside of what a married man might have to share. He'll also take the hit to his name, especially with a divorce he won't even discuss with officials. But you seem to loosen his lips with how you take to him, almost like this was a prize for all the hardships he endured...
He has the largest power of the Venerated Triad and has many forms of official work to handle in-person. But you're a trusted individual and you've long been given permissions to be alone with him as you please. If he just so happened to treat his favorite man to a good lunch in a secluded area of the Lanling surrounding city, oh well.
Hearing what you have to say is the least shocking thing he's had to process in a long time. "You are still my favorite person, my dearest. This changes nothing, I assure you. Unless..." He flirts.
He's never going to fully be open until the end, but you'll eventually peel back his skin to see his skeletons. For now, he simply wants to kiss his boyfriend and continue to rebuild all that has crumbled.

jiang cheng most likely has a thing for hair pulling. buries his fingers in your hair and tugs your head back, telling you that he wants to hear all of your moans for him. sometimes his grip tightens just so that he can hear you whimper.

helloooooo! Hope you're in good health :) Could you possibly do something with mdzs characters where the reader is like "I hate you" and they go "you know you love me" Thanks! I love your blog~
hewwo!
thank you for your wishes, i send the same warmth right back to you; i’m so glad that you’ve been enjoying the blog, thank you for reading
and most definitely; i love best friend vibes
・゚:* \(★^∀^★)/*:・゚
“i hate you...”
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Wei Wuxian
“no, no you don’t, you loveeee me,” Wei Wuxian has the audacity to sing song
and you breathe out a long sigh through your nose, praying to some higher being to give you strength
because as much as Wei Wuxian was your best friend
sometimes,
you couldn’t deal with him,
“i told you that i’d let you borrow a few pieces of paper for the talisman, not the entire stack of it!!” you tell him, loudly
“but look look y/n, look at all of these designs that i finally got to try out,”
and you groan out an angry huff before stomping out of his little cave back to the openness of the Burial Mounds
maybe it was the dark energy storming up around here, but the more you looked at him the angrier you got
though before you can step back out to the main grounds you feel his weigh on you from behind, arms wrapping your shoulders
you’re stopped in your tracks as Wei Wuxian’s warm weight leans against your back
“you love me, don’t you?” Wei Wuxian asks, gently
his tone is something between playfulness, curiosity and...something
you don’t need me to love you, you can’t help but think as you remember white blue cloud robes
“sure,” you reply and shoulder out of his grasp as you leave the cave
he’ll take it as he will
Jiang Cheng
at your words, Jiang Cheng huffs out a small little breathy huff before turning around and following you as you stomp off,
the wood of the pier creaks and thumps with each step that you stomp away back to your room, but half way there
you feel a hand grab your waist, spin you around in the middle of the board walk
you’re turned face to face his eyes locking on you, long hair gently swaying with the motion of turning you
his arms locked around your waist in a tight, comfortable, embrace
“you know you love me,” Jiang Cheng says, confidently (lovingly)
“unfortunately,” you reply, because even though you were annoyed with him for getting yet another puppy (without asking you first!) you can’t ever hold a grudge with him for too long
Jiang Cheng gives you that small, lip-only smile that he’s good at before leaning for a kiss
though you lean back, placing two fingers on his puckered lips when he leans in
“no more puppies,” you tell him, leveling your eyebrow
“there’s never enough puppies,” Jiang Cheng answers against your fingers and you can feel your annoyance come back,
“Jiang Cheng,” you groan out
he smiles at you widely, one hand of his coming up to move your hand away as he swoops in close to you
“alright, i promise,” Jiang Cheng agrees before swooping in for his long awaited kiss
Xue Yang
after you huff out that line, Xue Yang simply laughs at you
he shakes the blood off of his sword turning to get a better glimpse at your annoyed profile
you have many faces that he likes
but he thinks he is most fond of the current one you’re wearing now,
mid-pout, lower lip jutted out, the smallest wrinkle in the middle of your furrowed eyebrows
“c’mon, y/n, you love me,” he quibs and in one quick motion you turn to level your sword at him, annoyed
even with your blade at his neck, Xue Yang trusts (knows) well that you wouldn’t cut him
“when it’s my kill, don’t butt in,” you scold him, only to watch Xue Yang shrug under your blade
“can’t help it if you’re slow, baby” Xue Yang replies and you really feel the urge to nick a nice little slice at his neck
but you hold yourself back, drawing your sword angrily to your side
because between the both of you, someone had to be merciful
you sheathe your sword before crossing your arms across your chest, turning away from him
the air is quiet around you both
in the stillness of the dead fierce corpses, Xue Yang wraps an arm around your shoulder, laying it there as you face is still turned away from him
“wouldn’t want you to get any blood on that pretty face of yours,” Xue Yang says and you huff out an annoyed breath at him
you don’t know how many times you have to remind him that you were a cultivator that was just as capable as he was
and anger rears in your head enough for you to turn and glare at him
but when you meet his eyes, between the spark of mischief,
you’re surprised to see just the smallest,
tiniest, bit
of care
Xiao Xingchen
“but... you love me,”
Xingchen had responded to your clumsy tease so genuinely, earnestly
you see his mild surprise when you turn to look at him, eyes scared that you might actually not like him anymore
from that you resolve to not direct the word hate to him ever again, even if you didn’t mean it
“aw, Xingchen,” you coax him, dampening your own hot headed anger to explain to him,
because even though you were angry (annoyed, really) it wasn’t enough to use the word hate in the way that he had always heard it
“i do love you, it’s just... sometimes i don’t like some of the things you do,” you tell him gently, but honestly
Xingchen hums at you, looks down at your hands holding his and then back up to you,
“i don’t hate you Xingchen, i never could,” you reassure moving your small hands to his forearms to get closer to him,
Xingchen looks at you for a moment longer,
and in his hesitance you step into his open arms, wrapping yourself around his waist
“i love you more each and every day, that’s why i hate it when you do things by yourself. so tell me, when you need help, okay?”
you feel Xingchen let out a gentle kind of breath at the top of your head,
feel the small apology when his arms wrap around you in return

Hello, can I request the 3zun + jiang cheng reacting to reader who just disappears? Like, one day they're there and the next day they are gone without any trace or stuff like that? If you have time or want to, with the MC coming back after a long time etc? Have a nice day!^^ P/s: I love your blog very much<3
Awww! Thank youuu! Sorry this was late… I was trying to ascend my Lumine ( I main her ) anyways! Heres to your request~
Nie mingjue :
He had absolutely no idea how you just disapeared.. It was at night when he felt he was the only one in the bed. He waited for hours for you, but you never came. Eventually he announced a search party to find you. Surely you wouldn’t leave Qinghe that fast.. Right? He kept searching for 5 months, worried sick if anything happened to you. He isn’t calm, he is panicking and very easy to get angry now that your not here by his side. Other sect leaders wished him the best of luck trying to find you, others would tell him to give up and find another person who is better than you. He would thank the people who still had faith in him finding you but the ones who told him to give up had major injuries.. ( not just a broken bone ) eventually, after 2 years, he he felt something.. Or someone beside him, he saw you. After years of searching only now you decide to show up. “I’m home Mingjue..” You say while hugging him from the back. He couldn’t respond since he doesn’t know how to, should he be mad that you left? Should he be happy you came back after 2 years? He has mixed feeling about the situation but eventually, he faces you and looks into your eyes. “I missed you..” he then digs his face onto your shoulder and tears fall down his face. He wraps his arms around you while you comfort him. “I won’t leave again.” “You better not.” * sniff *
Lan Xichen :
You? Leave?.. His heart shattered. ( how dare you- wait.. I’M THE ONE WRITING THIS THOUGH..) why would you leave him? Did he do something wrong? Was it the environment you were in? ( 4,019 rules boy.. ) he kept thinking of why would you leave him. That night he never felt so alone.. Many sleepless nights, less food he ate, barely took care of himself now. He did search everywhere and he tried EVERYWHERE. Even infitrated the Jingshi to wake up Lan Wangji to help him find you. After so long, well.. 5 years… You appeared, staring at the starry sky. “Oh? A-Huan? How have you-“ words cut short, he hugged you in a tight embrace. “Why did you leave me, did you know how worried I was?” He cups your cheek with his free hand and kisses your forehead. “I’m sorry, I cannot tell you yet. But I’m back now right?” You say and both of you enjoy the comfortable silence.
Jin Guangyao :
What was the reason? He doesn’t know, did he predict it? No, is he trying to find you? Yes of course, but its a secret search party. He can’t have the whole cultivation world looking down on him. Was he a bad significant other? He doesn’t know, did you find someone else?.. He will dismantle them. Thankfully only took a year for you to come back. Who knows what he might’ve done if it was another week. He was starting to think you left without a trace because of his backround and because he wasn’t good enough. “A-Yao..” you call out his name from behind. He turns around the balcony and sees you, never thought he would miss you so dearly.. “I’m back, sorry to make you wait.”
Jiang Cheng :
..Rampage. Pure rampage. He will wake everyone up. He will sent half of his disciples to search for you, he doesn’t get much sleep. But when you left him.. DID HE SLEEP A WINK? Not really because Jin Ling had to knock him out before his uncle goes crazy. I must say.. 3 years when you were gone, Jin Ling or Wei Wuxian had to knock Jiang Cheng out to sleep. THATS how much he will go through just to find you. The 2 always had to keep an eye on Jiang Cheng since he spends most of the time searching for you. Eventually, after years, 5 years to be exact. You were knocking at the door. “Wanyin, please open the door.” The moment he heard your voice, he SPRINTED. And immediately hugged you while crashing his lips to yours.

Lady of Darkness (WWX x Reader) Part Three
Summary: One evening, when Yiling already went to rest for the night, one Wei Wuxian is restlessly staring out the window of the inn when he spots a woman walk down the empty street. That woman sings beautifully, her form enveloped in darkness as she walks. But who could that woman be? What does she want here?
Word count: 2290
Warnings: mentions of blood, mentions of violence, angst
A/N: Yes, I came back, I'm alive! But not for long, haha ^^' I still have to finish my thesis so I'm gonna go back MIA for a while! However, I will def continue once I handed in every paper to my uni and you will be bombarded with a tone of ideas I had while I wasn't active here! Lots of love! <3
Part One - Part Two
Tumblr media
Wen Xuan stood by the lotus pods on Burial Mounds as she watched Wei Wuxian pluck the seeds out of one of the plants. It has been a few months since she first met him. Life here was tranquil for a while, however, ever since Wei Wuxian went to the banquet in Lan Ling, it was like everything was going downhill.
She kept warning him that living a life like this could lead to his demise sooner than later. It seemed that all her words meant nothing to him and were thrown out the window the second they left her lips. They no longer played around with challenges and spent their time arguing. Wen Xuan missed those times to be honest but she knew that if she didn’t try her best to warn him and keep him safe, then she would be a bad friend.
A friend…
Nowadays, she wished that she could be just a simple woman, living an ordinary life, getting engaged and married eventually, finding love and fulfillment in simpler things. A-Yuan noticed how she no longer was singing unconsciously while doing her duties, making her realize that maybe she had more problems than she thought she had. Looking at Wei Wuxian, she felt a strange longing in her heart, a fondness and warmth. A smile always gracing her lips whenever she spotted him, but now… now she was biting her lip in worry, her heart pounding against her ribcage heavily.
The elders were resting, only Wen Qing was around, cutting herbs when she stepped outside the cave. Wen Xuan’s worry only grew each day as she knew that most people wanted Wei Wuxian dead. She saw the good he was trying to do against the injustice, but sometimes, it was just not the right time to be playing the hero. Her heart melted the ice around itself ever since she met him. Somehow this one person was capable of making her see how the world is so vast, filled with many different colors and possibilities.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Wei Wuxian looked up with a confused expression at her. Her gaze however, stayed on his form unwavering.
“I’m worried about you, Wei Ying.”
His name fell from her lips with exasperation, a tiredness that filled her soul. She tried to be as nonchalant as possible, knowing that taking things too seriously or letting Wei Wuxian know that she was indeed serious about a topic would only make him skittish.
Wei Ying stood to his feet, his eyes narrowing at her.
“You don’t want me to go to my nephew’s birthday.” he huffed, irritated. They had a fight over the topic already, Wen Qing joining in as well. Cornering her friend however, did not work out the way she thought it would. Wei Ying felt a million miles away from her ever since the arguments started and Wen Xuan was growing desperate in trying to reach him.
“I have a reason. Do you think they will not try to harm you? Jin Guangshan cannot wait to take that damned Stygian Tiger seal from you! It became everyone’s obsession!” she reasoned which rather sounded like pleading.
“I am completely safe! I can protect myself!” he yelled at her, fed up with how many times the two girls tried to stop him. His eyes flickered in red but Wen Xuan was not someone to back down against any man.
“Against the whole cultivation world?!” she cried out angrily, eyes blazing with fire. “You, the Great Yiling Laozu against the world! No one can hurt you, right? You’re such a powerful, strong individual!”
Out of anger, she kept insulting him with that cold tone. Getting under others’ skin was after all an easy thing for her to do.
“What is wrong with you?! Why are you acting like that?!” he fumed. Wen Xuan shook her head in disbelief. Was it not easy to guess? Was it not obvious? She couldn’t bear to look at him anymore and fled the scene, leaving Wei Ying to dwell on things on his own.
By the time she emerged from the cave, Wei Wuxian had already left with Wen Ning. Her anger somewhat dimmed but she still couldn’t watch the whole thing playing down. Wen Xuan already witnessed many horrible things and losing a person who was one of the most important to her felt like someone punched a hole through her chest, grabbed her heart and ripped it right out of her body.
It was night time when she reached the next city. The people seemed restless and some cultivators were heading the way she came from. Fortunately, she managed to hide from their eyes and find a spot in an inn. Wen Xuan sat quietly in a dark corner, sipping on her tea when her ears picked up the conversation of a group of men two tables further down from her.
“Why are there so many cultivators running towards Lanling? Did they invite the whole world for another banquet? It wouldn’t be new, they like to flaunt their fortune! Zui!” a burly man said in disgust, clearly not fond of the Jin sect.
“Haven’t you heard?! Man! You’re living a way too secluded life after all!” another slapped his knee. “Let me tell you then, the Yiling Patriarch was invited to the sect heir’s son’s birthday celebration but the foul man that Yiling Patriarch is, he killed Jin ZiXuan! They got into a fight over something but the sect heir died and now everyone wants to hunt down Wei Wuxian!”
Wen Xuan accidentally let go of her cup, drawing attention to herself with the sharp clinking of the porcelain. She quickly fumbled with her tea, wiping up the spilled liquid avoiding the stares. Fortunately, people turned their attention away and continued their conversations. With trembling hands, she placed back everything and paid quickly. She needed to get to him. She needed to save him.
When Wen Xuan reached Lanling it was already on fire, the sounds of swords clashing filled the night. She made her way inside to see cultivators going at each others’ throats while they tried to get rid of the animated corpses roaming around and attacking them. It was all a blur as she looked around. Wen Xuan couldn’t make out which limb belonged to which person.
She quickly spotted her friend. Wei Wuxian was glowing with anger as he played Chenqing, the melodies filling her ears. Suddenly, a different melody hit her ears, her eyes skimming over the crowd but she couldn’t tell where the different notes came from. Furrowing her eyebrows she jumped into action, her voice following the melody Wei Wuxian was playing, strengthening his control over the corpses. But it wasn’t enough.
Things escalated so fast that she barely had time to process what was happening. Jiang Yanli’s desperate voice came from her side. Walking over, Wen Xuan made sure that no one could get close to the other woman. She knew that Jiang Yanli was important for her friend and so she made sure to keep her out of harm's way. Jiang Cheng made his way to her in time but when he noticed Wen Xuan, he pointed his sword at her throat threateningly. She stared at him coldly but did not make any threatening move.
“Who are you?!”
Jiang Wanyin looked mostly frightened as his eyes looked at her with distrust. She stepped back a little from his sword before she replied.
“Wei Wuxian’s friend. Keep an eye on your sister, she shouldn’t be here.”
“Don’t-”
“Where is A-Xian?”
Jiang Yanli’s voice came from behind Jiang Wanyin, she held onto her brother but her eyes looked at Wen Xuan with hope.
“You should get out of here. It is dangerous for you to be here at the moment.” Wen Xuan shook her head.
Jiang Cheng knew she was right and so he turned to his sister, ushering her back to the Jiang clan’s disciples. Suddenly the corpses started acting wild, attacking her and even if she tried her hardest she couldn’t keep them back. Looking around frightened, she saw Wei Wuxian kneeling on the ground. Her heart thumped hard in her chest as she watched him crying out desperately.
“Wei Ying!”
Wen Xuan’s voice seemed to have reached his ears and soon, he looked up to see her approaching form.
“What are you doing here?! Go away!” he yelled at her but his handsome face was not angry so much as scared. Scared for her life. Wen Xuan smiled at him gently and pulled him to his feet but he quickly shook her hand off of himself and jumped into the air. Her heart pounded heavily in her chest as she watched him.
Wei Wuxian took out the Stygian Tiger Seal and it seemed like time stopped. Everyone’s attention was drawn to his form.
“Since you all want to obtain it so badly, then each of you use your own abilities to snatch it.”
Wei Ying threw the Seal into the crowd, the dark energy quickly surrounding it and breaking it into small pieces.
“Wei Ying!” she cried out but he no longer listened. She felt his tears land on her cheek from above making her heart break at his pain. This shouldn’t have happened if she could be quicker, if she didn’t leave Burial Mounds in her anger. Regret filled her veins as she watched him jump to the side, landing on the edge of the cliff. Her eyes widened in horror and quickly followed him, her mind filled with panic.
“Wei Ying! Come back!” Wen Xuan cried out, standing there with her feet rooted to the ground. It was already too late as Wei Wuxian stepped back and let his body fall. Wen Xuan jumped after him to grab his hand, her body piercing through the air like an arrow.
Her heart filled with hope when she finally felt his slender fingers in her palm and she clutched onto him tightly. She landed on the ground as she held onto his hand, her waist painfully impaled by the stone under her. Wei Wuxian was quite heavy compared to her which made both of them slowly inch downward. She couldn’t keep him up much longer but she knew she had to try. She couldn’t let go.
“Wen Xuan…” he breathed as he looked up at her. “Wen Xuan, let go.”
Suddenly, hands grabbed her waist, pulling her back slightly and another hand grabbed Wei Wuxian over her small hand. She looked over her shoulder to see Lan Wangji, blood dripping down his arm from a cut he received previously. Wen Xuan smiled in gratitude but that soon turned into panic.
Jiang Wanyin walked up behind the two of them, his sword drawn out of its sheath, his features contorted by anger.
“Wei Wuxian!” Jiang Wanyin cried out, his voice filled with hatred, disappointment and anger but mostly.
“No!”
“Go and die!”
The sword embedded into the stone under her and Wei Ying quickly pulled his hand out of her grasp. Wen Xuan’s heart stopped beating for a few minutes as she watched him fall to his death, tears rolling down her eyes.
Thirteen years later ~
Some things never change. Wei Wuxian still disliked the way everything was so restricting in the Gusu Lan clan. Lan Wangji brought him to Gusu after defeating Jin Guangyao and the world seemed to settle into peace.
“Lan Zhan! Wait for me!” Wei Ying hurried after his friend who seemed to be eager to show him something.
Wei Wuxian couldn’t seem to shake the memories of Wen Xuan out of his head. She knew things would turn bad, she tried to warn him but he only driven her away… but then she came back, almost losing her life while trying to protect him. He remembered the desperate cry he heard when he fell off that cliff, his eyes trained on her pained features, her agony showing on her beautiful face.
He knew that she must be somewhere far away or maybe she died and now she got her peace. His heart strangely skipped a beat at the thought of her being dead. After all the time they spent together he grew fond of her. Before meeting her, none of the girls grabbed his attention, he couldn’t really tell why exactly but their meak personalities never appealed to him somehow. Wen Xuan was different, she never backed out of an argument, never feared opposing him.
“Where are we going? Why aren’t you telling me anything?” he kept on nagging Lan Wangji but the tall man refused to say anything. Then his eyes widened when he recognized the place. The cold pond where Lan Zhan healed his wounds after getting punished with Wei Wuxian still looked the same. What shocked him was to see a figure standing by the shore.
“You brought an old friend, I see.”
That voice.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened in shock, his feet leading him to the figure wearing all white. The hood covering her head was reaching down to her nose, hiding her gaze as long as it was pulled over her head. Her dark hair was pulled into a long braid that reached her hips. He grabbed her shoulder and turned her around to see her beautiful face, however, now her left cheek had a long scar running from her temple to her chin. However, to Wei Wuxian, Wen Xuan was still as beautiful as before no matter what. Her lips pulled into a gentle smile when she took him in.
“Wei Ying, hao qiu bu jian.”
End ~

Untamed reaction (Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng)
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Hello you can do a reaction Lan Zhan, Wei Ying, jiang Cheng. He has a little brother who is good and likes to play but he hurts his leg and recommends him rest so his brother takes care of him and has to carry him in his arms or something like that to make sure he is not running. For example for Lan Zhan when Wei Ying is catching fish in the back (I don't know if you know at the time of the series I'm referring to) and then the boy sees them and wants to play too and Lan Zhan arrives and picks him up
Warnings: none
A/N: I apologize for the long wait
Wei Wuxian:
Now Wuxian is a very reckless person himself, mostly because he doesn't really have a fear of getting hurt. But when you got hurt (by fishing weirdly enough) and were forced to stay indoors, Wuxian was there to help you. You were someone who was very active person, always running around (even though it wasn't allowed) and playing around. So being stuck in your room was not an option. So he carried you everywhere whether it was on his back, on his shoulder or simply in his arms. And he carried you like that everywhere... But one day, you couldn't sleep so you decided to go out on your own, not wanting to wake your brother. So you limped outside, leaning on every single thing that you could lean on.
"Yah, your not supposed to walk!" Someone exclaimed, making you flinch before turning around to look. Wuxian had woken, running behind you with a slight frown.
"I can't sleep, I just want to walk around a bit." You explained, but he shook his head and lifted you once again. You groaned, assuming that you were going back to bed until you noticed that you were moving further from your rooms.
"Let's go see the bunnies then!" He exclaimed and you smiled, nodding excitingly as he carried you there.
Lan Zhan:
How you broke your leg was simple in a way. You fell... from the roof. Yeah, were not getting into it anymore than that. But you stayed in the library most of the time, studying your lessons or reading or studying your music. Being carried everywhere was annoying for both you and your brother, Lan Zhan, so you avoided moving places to much. But some days, you didn't feel like doing that. Today was one of those days that you just sat in the library, looking out in front of you. You decided to just go out a bit and pushed yourself up. You hopped around and soon found yourself following the sounds of laughter, reaching the lake at the back of Cloud Recesses. You spotted Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang playing around in the water. You were a bit confused as to why, but nonetheless it soon brought a smile to your lips as you continued watching them.
That's when you suddenly felt water splash unto you and looked at them with wide eyes. You smirked, getting ready to jump in when you suddenly felt someone pull you back.
"Seriously?" A monotoned voice said and you looked up, seeing Lan Zhan staring at you.
"Can I not?" You asked and he shook his head, making you pout before looking up again with a smile.
"Carry me!" You outstretched your arms and he rolled his eyes, frowning after. You whined before yelping when he actually picked you up.
"Don't expect this more than once."
Jiang Cheng:
This man, my god. Tsundere is a good term for this guy and that goes for anything he does. Even when your hurt. When you hurt your leg by accident, he took care of you in his own way. Aka, he acted like he didn't care yet he carried you everywhere. So you were limping to class, he'd pick you up and complain about your limping. Or when you took a break from the walking (an activity that the Lans implemented for exercise) and he carried you while complaining that you were holding the whole group back. But you knew he meant well anyway, ignoring the remarks and instead focusing on the fact that he was helping you. That being said, today you didn't feel like being carried and instead opted on sneaking away from the group during the daily walk. So when everyone was in front of you, you became quiet and silently limped away. You supported yourself against trees, enjoying your surroundings until you heard rustling behind you. You weren't carrying your sword with you, so fear struck even more when you realized that. You turned, unfortunately too quickly, and landed flat on your butt. You looked up terrified, only to see Jiang Cheng standing in front of you. He looked down at where you were laying and you gave him an awkward smile.
"You are impossible, you know that?" He spoke, openly judging you and making you pout in return before you held your arms out.
"Help me." You spoke and he rolled his eyes, sighing loudly before grabbing you underneath your arms. He lifted you like how he would lift a child and you whined before simply wrapping yourself around him like a koala. You smiled down at him before hugging him close to yourself once again, burying your head in the crook of his neck. He said nothing, so you took it as a sign that he was fine with it and didn't stop. Instead, you felt his arms supporting your weight as he walked somewhere. You soon noticed that he was walking back to your room and frowned, lifting your head.
"Won't we get in trouble?" "Once more, yes. It's not like you aren't used to that already." He replied and you scoffed.
"I am a perfect student, how dare you." You answered, flicking his forehead and he scoffed.
"Yeah, sure. I certainly believe that." He replied and you glared at him angrily.
"Nevertheless, once more can't hurt."

Can you write a sequel for Jiang Cheng x reader, please?
Sure! I was thinking.. The reader is from Yunmeng but they travel alot, they visit JC and help him take care of JL. ( after the death of you know who... * cough * Yanli.. * cough * ) ( Jin Ling calls you jiuma since he already has a jiujiu okay? )
Sure enough you were sad that Yanli was gone, it’s been 3 years now. You really miss Yunmeng.. Jin Ling is already 3 years old! How time flies. But right now you were waiting for your nephew in the entrance with his uncle. “Y/N.” Jiang Cheng greets you and Jin Ling is in his arms, biting his hand. ( by his I mean Jiang Cheng ) “A-Ling, don’t bite your uncle Cheng-Cheng’s hand.” You say teasingly making Jiang Cheng groan in frustration. “Y/N, I told you not to call me that.” He reminds you but you don’t listen, Jin Ling reaches his hands towards you, gesturing that he wants you to carry him. “Jin Ling! Stay still you brat!” Jiang Cheng scolds the child but Jin Ling doesn’t listen “Jiuma..” He says opening and closing his palms, and almost slipping away from Jiang Cheng’s grasp. “Here, give me my nephew.” You extend your arms and Jiang Cheng hands you the infant “He’s so energetic, he only calms down when you’re around.” He tells you “Not my fault he adores his jiuma.” You tell him and he scoffs “Let’s go inside, it’s about to rain.” He tells you and leads you to your room ( a room near his and Jin Ling’s )
“How are you?” You ask him while you sit down on the side of the bed, with Jin Ling still in your arms. “Doing better than the last time he spilled ink on my papers.” He chuckles and you laugh while he tells you everything that’s been going on when you were travelling. “Really? That sounds fun!” You say and Jin Ling stares at the both of you confused “Jiuma.. A-Ling hungry.” He tugs your sleeve with puppy eyes “Hey, do you have food?” You ask Jiang Cheng “Don’t you ‘Hey’ me, and yes we do.” He tells you rolling his eyes on how you refer to him. “Alright angry lotus it is then.” You say going to the kitchen to prepare Lotus pork rib soup for Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng. You knew he needed it.
“You don’t have to cook it yourself though.” He tells you but you’re already rolling your sleeves and chopping off some ginger ( I had to research the recipe ) “Shush and let me cook for my dear nephew and the angry lotus jiujiu of his.” You tell him as you soak the pork ribs in cold water. He rolls his eyes and sits down in a nearby table “Hey Jiang Cheng, hand me the Goji berries.” You extend your palm and he puts down Jin Ling, coming over to help you. ( I just realized that the procedure takes so long.. Ya know, let’s just say they used cultivation to make it faster )
“Jiuma it smells good!” Jin Ling claps his hands enthusiastically and Jiang Cheng grabs a bowl but you grabbed it also “Oh- sorry, Here.” You both give the bowl to eachother but he lets you grab it in the end. “A-Ling, say ah.” You blow on the hot spoon filled with soup “Ah.” Jin Ling open’s his mouth wide and swallows it “Yummy?” You ask him “Yes! Even better than Jiujiu’s!” He tells you and Jiang Cheng scoffs. “Angry lotus, how’s it?” You ask him and he just continues eating “It’s fine.” Finally swallowing what he is chewing “Will jiujiu stay with jiuma and a-Ling?” Jin Ling asks you and Jiang Cheng “What do you mean?” He asks his nephew “Will you both sleep together with me?” He asks you both and you look at Jiang Cheng, he looks at you.. “I’ll be in the middle!” Jin Ling raises his hand and you thought that it was fine! The child is in the middle and the angry lotus was in the other end of the bed! “What do you say Jiang Cheng?” You ask him “It’s fine, he’s in the middle anyways.” He tells you but you see a faint blush on his cheeks. “Alright.” You say and Jin Ling smiles at the both of you.
After washing the dishes and wearing an extra layer of your night robe ( or whatever you call it ) You lay down near the edge of the bed, giving Jin Ling so much space. “Jiuma! Don’t be so far away from me and Jiujiu!” He tugs you closer and he brings a blanket for all of you. “Jiuma! Take this!” He hands you the blanket and you spread it, giving Jiang Cheng half of it. You make way for Jin Ling to lay down beside you both ( in his quite small bed ) “It’s kinda cramped here.. Are you sure you want BOTH of us next to you?” You ask him “Does jiuma don’t like jiujiu anymore?” He asks you back and Jiang Cheng turned his head towards you, blushing. “I-I.. Nevermind.. Sleep well Jin Ling, Jiang Cheng.” You say and turning your back to them. The next morning you feel something wrapping it’s arms around you ‘Who tf is this?’ You think and you open your eyes and see Jiang Cheng hugging you. Jin Ling was somehow pushed into the edge of the bed.. You were now in the middle, with a grown man hugging you, a child kicking your back ( while sleeping ), and being squished. Hell you weren’t prepared to feel a hard kick on your spine… Even though, you still feel comfortable even when it’s a small bed. ( needless to say Jin Ling maybe planned this because his jiujiu didn’t get the point. Thank him :D )

jiang cheng and lan xichen with a pregnant reader (bonus points if its multiples) please
Lots of baby fever going on here
MDZS Pregnant S/O Headcanons [JC; LXC]
Tumblr media
• If Jiang Cheng wasn’t protective of you before, he certainly is now. You are the woman he loves and will bear his child. He is set on making sure he doesn’t lose anyone else who means something to him.
• He stopped you from doing major activities, such as night hunting - yes you may get agitated but he is solely doing it for your safety. Jiang Cheng knows that he has made a multitude of enemies which automatically puts a target on your back. He won’t allow you to be hurt on his account so he ensures that you stay home with a number of maids and servants at your beck and call.
 • He starts going out less and merely focuses on you. Making sure that you are eating well, getting enough sleep, ensuring that you’re happy. He is constantly checking up on you - to the point where it actually starts getting annoying. All you do is shift and he immediately snaps his head towards you, panicked and shooting an array of questions.
•"Are you alright?" "Do you need anything?" "Did the water break!?"
•On the night the baby kicks, you witnessed his eyes practically lighting up with joy. He pressed his ear to your stomach, only to get a harsh kick. Of course, this didn't stop him. His hands continued to lightly feel around your swollen bump. However, when he started noticing kicks from two different angles it wasn't long before he excellently deducted you were having more than one child.
•This prompted him to be even more protective, to the point where he wouldn't let you out of his sight. Even going as far as to dump some of the work as Sect Leader on the poor, confused Wei Wuxian's shoulders.
•Everyone knows Jiang Cheng has a gift of horrible name choices. Judging by what his puppies were called, "Love", "Jasmine" etc. [Which Wei Wuxian mentioned multiple times were like names of women you would find at high-class brothels.] This meant you had to turn down every name he offered. Including "Y/N the second"
•When your water broke you had to rely on Jin Ling for a solid ten minutes because Jiang Cheng passed out on the spot.
•He was thrilled upon finding out that you had given birth to twin boys.
Tumblr media
•Lan Xichen would be beyond ecstatic the minute he found out you were pregnant. You did not think it was possible - but you started receiving even more affection and attention from the man. Whether it was daily cuddles, morning stomach kisses or midnight spooning where he can gently rub your baby bump.
•He starts dumping more and more work on Lan Wangji [who honestly would do anything to make sure his older brother is happy, prompting him to accept it without complaint] just so that he can spend more time with you.
•He fusses over you quite a lot. He even goes as far as cooking for you, so that he can feed you while you’re still in bed Despite you trying to assure him that you can do simple tasks by yourself.  Does he ever listen? No. He merely kisses your head, smiles and tells you that he is more than happy to assist you with everything.
•Lan Xichen speaks to the baby a lot. Sometimes you even tease him, saying that he talks to the baby more than you. [And for that - shame on you Y/N, he instantly gets panicked and starts apologizing for not giving you enough attention, do you think it's funny seeing him ramble?] Sometimes you both sit up all night with the male kissing and rubbing at your abdomen. He tells your future bundle of joy a variety of stories, varying from his childhood, to tall tales, to how much he loves them and how he - along with their future uncle Wangji - are going to spoil them beyond measure. One time he even ended up falling asleep while nuzzling your stomach.
•He cannot make his mind up on names. At times he sits up in the middle of snuggles, excitedly proclaiming a new name that came to his mind. To you, this is absolutely adorable, especially when he goes on a little rant about what the name means and why it would suit your future child.
•During your labour you swore he was freaking out more than you. It was as if he was the one giving birth. So there you sat, laid and pushing a baby out, trying to reassure him. Granted, he eventually snapped out of it but it was the funniest thing for most to witness.
•You had a baby girl!! Lan Xichen was relieved when it was over but was quickly sent into shock when the midwife shouted there was a second. And a third. He nearly passed out from joy upon finding out he had three new daughters.

Physical affection with them (Pt1)
A/N: I really wanted to do this lol. Enjoy
Jiang Cheng:
When it comes to physical affection or any affection at all, you’re in for a ride
This grumpy sect leader is in need of affection but good luck trying to give him some
He will do everything in his power to run away from your love
Not because he doesn't want it, actually because he doesn't know how to react to it
Hes never really been given much love so just doesn't know what to do
But you know very well what he needs
So as much s he likes to escape, you don't let him
When it comes to being in public he “allows” little things like hand holding and maybe small kisses on cheeks
He never knows how to reciprocate, but he turns incredibly red when you show him an ounce of genuine affection
If the two of you are out on a nighthunt or in the market and you go to grab his hand, he will instantly blush and give you a look, but he wont pull his hand away
If anything, he’ll actually hold your hand tightly and won’t let go till the end of said trip
When it comes to being in private, like cuddling in bed, he will never initiate it, although he will show you what he wants
He will “subtly” nudge you while you’re in bed, but will never actually wrap his arms around you
He knows that you’ll always turn over and snuggle into his chest when he nudges you, and he thinks that you don't know how much he likes it
But you do
And it makes you very happy to see him blush
His kisses (those initiated by him) are few and far between generally saved for a special occasion like anniversaries, birthdays and long separations
But when he does initiate it, his kisses are surprisingly passionate
He will always grip your hands of your waist when he kisses you and will always drag it out, acting surprisingly sheepish when its done
He loves when you kiss him
Because of how gentle you are when you do
He loves when you gently gently run your hands up his chest and when you softly cup his face when you lean in to kiss him
It makes him feel so loved and cherished
Something he doesn't feel very often
He also loves it when you hug him
Just the feeling of yours arms wrapped around him and the warmth of your body make him so happy
He will occasionally wrap and arm around  your waist
Especially when he’s jealous
Which happens quite often
(Especially around Wei Wuxian)
No matter who you are or where you come from, Jiang Cheng will always  be worried that you will fall for his elder brother
Since Wei Wuxian is very flirty, when the two of you meet, he almost immediately starts his teasing
And because of how charismatic he is, the two of you definitely become quick friends
Which pisses off Jiang Cheng to the furthest extreme
And so, whenever the three of you are in the same room, Jiang Cheng is all over you
He goes from 0 affection to 100% love, arm around your waist, practically stuck to you
He would even go to lengths such as hand holding and even the occasional hug
Unfortunately for him however, Wei Wuxian notices this and makes fun of him for becoming soft
Which would promptly make him let go of you entirely
Needless to say, Jiang Cheng is a softie who needs love, but he tries rly hard to hide it
But don't be fooled by this grumpy grape, Jiang Cheng 100% needs love and it must be given to him promptly

Can I request headcanon of mdzs boys of your choice with reader who can talk with animals and who prefers animal company over humans and also seen bit crazy reader also could be a strong cultivator. If not can be only one boy of your choice?
Sure, thank you so much for requesting.
MDZS Headcannon - Reader who can talk to animals
This is my first time doing a head cannon so I’m not sure if I did this right. Sorry this is very short.
3 Zuns, Juniors, and Seniors version
Wèi Wúxiàn:
Tumblr media
GIF from: https://tenor.com/view/wei-wuxian-bunny-snuzzle-gif-16010479
Wèi Wúxiàn would think you are very talented and would always ask you what the bunnies are saying and thinking. When he first met you, he thinks you are very different from other cultivators he met in the past. Wèi Wúxiàn wouldn’t believe the rumours about you being crazy and insane, since he doesn’t judge others. When he found out you can talk to animals, he was amazed and he love that you could talk to animals. What he loves about you is that you don’t let the rumours get to you, and you still talk to animals even though people think you are mental. But what he doesn’t like, is that you do spend more time with the animals than him, and he gets a bit jealous.  When people would talk bad about you, he would try to start a fight with them but if you stop him he would listen to you.
Lán Wàngjī:
Tumblr media
GIF from:  https://ianime0.tumblr.com/post/186702651660/carole-tuesday-ep-12
When Lán Wàngjī first met you, he would think you’re another Wèi Wúxiàn. But when he got to know you better he would admire you for your knowledge of talking to animals and your cultivation skills. What he doesn’t like about you, is that you always try to sneak out and talk to your animal friends in the middle of the night, and he always have to try to cover for you so you don’t get punished. If people talk bad about you, he would just give them death glares and then they would stop talking about you. He was also shock when he found out you could talk to animals, since not a lot of cultivators have your talent.
Jiāng Chéng:
Tumblr media
Jiāng Chéng would judge you from the very start. He would believe that the rumours about you are true. But if Wèi Wúxiàn didn’t ask him to give you a chance (since your friends with Wèi Wúxiàn), he would still believe the rumours are true. When he first met you, he immediately gave you the cold shoulder, but when Wèi Wúxiàn asked him to give you a chance, he would try not to give you the cold shoulder. When he got to know you better, he realised that you weren’t that bad and that the rumours were completely false. What he loves about you, is that you don’t get scared by animals and that you have a love with dogs, unlike some people. *Cough *Cough *Wèi Wúxiàn. What he doesn’t like about you, is that you are another Wèi Wúxiàn. He thinks that you are his missing, long lost twin.  When people would talk bad about you, he would immediately give them death threats and death glares, and then people would never talk bad about you again.

your scenarios are so cute!! could you please do one of jiang cheng having a crush on someone he thinks likes wwx (but they don’t, he’s just dense)? 💞
Shiiiiii- I absolutely LOVE this idea! It was so much fun to write and I had a blast trolling AngryPurpleMan™️. Honestly, JC living a lowkey comedy sitcom lifestyle is the quality content we all need. I present you, the most dense-tastic man on Earth learning how to emotion properly for the first time. 🙌
P.S. I hope he isn't too OOC
The Art of Jealousy
He knew better than to let his emotions get the best of him. Yet for some reason you had him in the palm of your hand. Not just him, but his heart. He had never before felt something as strong as every heartbeat around you. He would hear it in his head, feel it down his spine.
How utterly unfair life could be.
Jiang Cheng was a difficult person to deal with. It didn't take a genius to realise it. Hell, even he knew it. And he never really minded, that is until he met you. Kind and compassionate, strong and level-headed, intelligent eyes, quick wits, and frankly - a billion more qualities he had grown to...fancy, as he'd call it reluctantly. It took a war and some serious trauma on his side to realise, that maybe love wasn't a COMPLETE waste of time, and that maybe he would be allowed to experience it...not.
Jiang Cheng was a difficult person and he knew it. He also knew, that his brother Wei Wuxian was charming and funny, good-looking and of course - a ginormous flirt. He also knew people enjoyed jokes and flirting. And he was well-aware those weren't his strongest suit. But as he stayed from a distance, watching you laugh cheerfully at one of Wei Wuxian's trillions of ingenious jokes, his arm wrapped around your shoulders, he so wished he could be like that.
Of course, that you'd fall for that idiot. Who wouldn't? Although in his opinion, that would be abysmal, who was he to judge? That's right. Who was he to have a say in this? Yet he kept on wishing you'd turn to him instead, laugh with him instead, hug him instead, look for HIS company, HIS opinions. And with each longing stare your way, he'd get increasingly angry - at himself, at you and above all, at Wei Wuxian.
What he failed to notice during his bouts of rage were the longing stares you threw right back at him, and the knowing looks Wei Wuxian would give you. You'd told him a while back about your growing fondness of the Jiang sect leader and, as the great best friend he was, he'd vowed to help you win over his burning heart. In actuality, Wei Wuxian already suspected, that his brother had also harboured a certain attraction towards you, all he needed was a little bit of solid proof.
And god, you try everything. Cooking him something? He found the two of you before it was ready and got angry he wasn't invited. (though he denied that reasoning) Buying him something? He was in an exceptionally bad mood all day. (totally not because you went to the market with Wei Wuxian.) Drinking tea with him and just talking? Duty called and he had to go to work. Accompanying a night hunt? Jiang Cheng had to monitor Jin Ling and just as you were about to be attacked, Wei Wuxian (ofc) came to help. (JC just has 0 luck.) Clearly, it wasn't working out.
Currently you were in the middle of your plan to make him confess 'notice you'. Or rather, Wei Wuxian's plan. You weren't all that aware of it. And as Jiang Cheng angrily scowled at the two of you, he knew he was succeeding.
The younger brother couldn't stand it anymore. That shameful display of digusting affection made him want to carve his heart out and throw it right at you. Instead of throwing a scene, however, he decided for once to be the bigger person and *totally not in a demonstrative manner* walk away - an action both WWX and you noticed immediately.
Returning to his private study, he plopped on his chair, trying his darn hardest to stop himself from destroying his surroundings. Futile. In a sudden wave of anger, he pushed all of his scrolls and documents off his desk, letting them scatter around the room. His mind was screaming at him, but his heart was louder. He was done with wasting time on these foolish emotions. Who needed love anyways? It only makes you weaker. He wasn't about to embarrass himself with such stupid feelings.
His thoughts were interrupted, when there was a small knock on the door. "Who is it?", he asked sternly. He wanted to be alone. "It's me, Y/N." And just like that his tough act crumbled. "What do you want?"
"May I come in?"
"Yes."
Stepping inside, you were met with a clearly fuming Jiang Cheng, sitting amongst a few dozen scattered scrolls and sheets of paper. He averted his gaze away from you, as he crossed his arms.
"So? What do you want?" the harshness in his voice made your own anger rise, but no - you had it all under control.
"I think we need to talk about something important. But A-Cheng, what happened here?" you gestured to the scrolls.
"If it's that important, why don't you go ask Wei Wuxian for help? Or just go bother anybody else, but me." There it was - that childish jealousy Jiang Cheng has always had. He didn't want to sound as mean as he did, but his anger got the best of him. And deep down he knew, that he was going to regret it. But he was going to think about it later.
"Because it has nothing to do with him." You felt your voice tremble. Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all. "You know, nevermind, forget what I said.."
Jiang Cheng's heart was drowning in pain and guilt. Yet the more he felt it, the more defensive he became.
"Yeah. Now leave. I have work to do and I'm pretty sure your lover is looking for you."
What? You moved closer, standing right in front of him. "My what? Jiang Wanyin, what are you even talking about? What lover???" But then it dawned upon you. Was....was he jealous? Was he acting like that, because of jealousy?
His cheeks reddened as he finally looked at you. "As if it isn't obvious. You and Wei Wuxian spend every second together. It's so obvious it hurts, damn it. So don't play s-"
He was interrupted by you pulling him in by the robes and leaving a sweet kiss on his thin lips. You were right - he was jealous. And currently, he was so stunned he almost forgot how to breathe. Once you pulled away he nearly fell back. His face was now beat red, eyes wandering over your face, lost in the disarray that was his mind.
"A-Xian and I aren't lovers. We're friends. He was helping me try to confess...to you. You're the one I fell in love with." Suddenly you felt very small under his gaze, as you muttered the last of your confession.
And in that very moment, Jiang Cheng's entire world came crashing down like a tsunami. It was...him? Actually him? Not Wei Wuxian, not anybody else - but him? All this time?
"Wha-" He didn't know how to respond. He had yelled at you, nearly sent you away all for nothing. And suddenly realization hit him. You had just kissed him. He gathered himself as much much as possible, nerves practically wrecking him on the inside.
"If that is true, then...You idiot-" Instead of finishing his sentence, he just sighed, before pulling you in for another kiss. Wrapping an arm around your waist and burying the other in your hair, he whispered against your lips.
"Be mine."
"I already am"
"Good."
You decided, that for the time being you wouldn't mention his jealousy. After all, who'd ruin such a wonderful moment?
"You were jealous, weren't you?"
*Pterodactyl screeching in denial*
Or maybe not.
