Archie Andrews- Frozen Ice

Taken from my book on wattpad, just changed to fit a YN x Archie Andrews imagine

Cheryl hasn’t been answering her phone which is extremely worrying, especially after the text I had saying she was going to be with Jason. So now here we were are, Jughead, Archie, Veronica, Betty and I running the frozen Sweetwater River

“Oh my god there she is” I yell pointing to Cheryl stood breaking the ice.

“CHERYL STOP. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Archie yells taking my hand and pulling me even closer to the frozen water. We attempt to run across the ice, but it’s not strong enough to hold our weight

"CHERYL PLEASE" Veronica yells "just come to the shore we can figure this out all together ok?"

“Cheryl she’s right. Just start walking to us slowly. We’ll help you” I shout

Cheryl nods her head and begins to take a step to walk back to us but the ice under us gives way. Forgetting that the ice is so thin we begin to run towards her. Archie tells me to go back to make sure I’m safe, but of course I don’t listen and continue to run. I watch as Archie begins breaking the ice with his fists to get to Cheryl. Jug manages to pull her out, but the ice breaking from underneath me

“YN!” is the last thing I hear before everything becomes muffled. The water is so cold that I feel numb. Soon enough everything goes black.

Suddenly I'm coughing up water with Archie sitting next to me and Betty holding my hand. The girls sigh in relief. I shiver feeling extremely cold

“Babe are you ok?”

“Y-yeah” I shiver “ch-Cheryl?” I look around to see Cheryl crying while Veronica is rubbing her arms up and down to try and keep her warm, or attempt to warm her up

"Let's get you warmed up ok?" Archie scoops me in his arms and carries me to his dads truck. Inside are some blankets that I wrap around myself.

"Oh my god YN are you ok?” mum and dad runs into the living room where I'm sat by the fire with Archie’s arm around me and a hot chocolate in my hands

"Mum, dad, I wasn't... I didn't.... It's not..." I splutter

"I know. Archie rang me and told me what happened, how you were trying to get to Cheryl"

"I should have listened to you Arch”

"Shhh shhhh it's ok. Your safe now thats all that matters. I'm not going to the Jubilee tonight. I’m going to stay here with you”

"Errr no your not you are going to that jubilee” I snap at Archie "we all are"

"No, you blacked out. I had to give you CPR"

"Archie I'm fine. Now go and get your guitar and get ready to play"

"Are you sure YN?" mum asks worriedly

"I'm sure"

"Welcome one and all to Riverdales 75th anniversary jubilee celebration" Mayor McCoy says into the microphone on the stage as we all clap "I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce my daughter Josie and her pussycats as they perform alongside our local hero Archie Andrews" Betty squeezes my hand a little, we're stood off to the side to watch. Once again everyone starts clapping

"Hi everyone. We're switching things up tonight we are singing a song that my boy Archie wrote" Josie says and the music starts. Archie starts playing his guitar and singing. My eyes start watering and I feel so proud of my boyfriend. When he's finished the song he walks off stage, I hug my him and Betty walks on to give her speech

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'd like to thank Mayor McCoy for inviting me to speak on this historic day. 75 years of Riverdale. But what is Riverdale? It's the people right? You, me, friends, our neighbours. Riverdale is Archie Andrew. Kevin Keller is Riverdale, Veronica Lodge, YN YLN, but you know who else is Riverdale? FP Jones. We were so quick to blame for Jason's murder. Jughead Jones is Riverdale, the very soul of Riverdale. Without him, we would have lost Cheryl tonight and we would have never found out what truly happened to Jason. And yet how do we thank him? By banishing him. Which is what we do when the truth is to ugly in Riverdale. Truth being that Clifford Blossom was also Riverdale. Riverdales at a crossroads. If we don't face the reality of who and what we are then what happened to Jason could happen again. Riverdale must do better. We must do better" Betty finishes and the room is silent. I stand up and start to clap, I hear someone clapping behind me and turn to see Jughead clapping. Soon the whole room is stood up clapping.

After the jubilee we sit in Pops at a booth with a milkshake each

"To Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones who saves the cheerleaders and saved the town" Veronica says

"Actually I think that was Betty's speech" Arch says

"Here here to Betty Cooper"

"Cheers" we all says clinking our milkshakes together.

That night we had many milkshakes and that night in the booth at pops we felt safe, but deep down I know this feeling won't last and soon we will be back to doing what we seem to do best.... Solving murders

I find myself obsessed with the concept of a Riverdale Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet fusion (with a smattering of Hamlet)

Imagine Hiram Lodge as Macbeth and Hermione Lodge as Lady M taking over Riverdale by killing Fred Andrews in a convenient “accident”. Archie knows this bc the ghost of his father told him (but he also could have just been high on the jingle jangle in those cookies but try telling that to the sheriff) and he is determined to take revenge but falls in love with veronica while infiltrating hiram’s drug operation (ok i guess there’s quite a bit of Hamlet ).

Betty is Rosalind in this situation (Archie’s ex who he leaves for Veronica). Betty is also an FBI informant (duh) who goes to Hiram and offers to spy on Archie for him (citing revenge for him dumping her) but secretly she feeds him false information that makes him increasingly paranoid (acts as three witches) and with Veronica’s help convinces Hermione to get hiram to dispose of the blossoms- the only other powerful family in riverdale that poses a threat to Hiram’s control of Riverdale (to stop Penelope blossom’s poisonous involment in g&g). Cheryl survives the attack and flees Thornhill (Fleance).

Meanwhile Jughead who has been resisting Hiram’s attempts to buy out sunnyside trailer park seeks out Archie (Malcolm) believing he is the solution to Hiram lodge’s power grab - he is now the only red-head in Riverdale and thus by an ancient law (introduced by the Blossoms- no wonder they wanted to set him up with Cheryl) could stand as a mayoral candidate at the last minute and can trigger an election and as ppl think he is a golden retriever he could push Hermione lodge out of office. And who else has the abs to defeat hiram in a boxing match?

Unfortunately archie is like, “oh idk if i could do that jug. Hirams a pretty buff dude ;)” When jughead (Macduff) returns home disappointed he finds the serpents have been attacked by the ghoulies employed by Hiram. FP is in hospital in critical condition. This motivates him to inspire the serpents and northsiders to unite against hiram. The southsiders respond with community organisation and the northsiders are also…helpful? Gay kevin puts on a musical denouncing Hiram lodge, Alice Cooper writes damaging articles and Josie McCoy sings at every protest. Sweet pea, Tony and Fangs are quizzical at first but eventually just shrug and enjoy these…interesting tactics.

Meanwhile hermione lodge is encouraged to flee as betty claims that hiram has begun to turn on her as well bc he knows about her affair with Fred Andrews. Veronica fakes an attempt on her mother’s life from Hiram, believing it will encourage her to leave. However, Hermione, overcome by guilt and fear, fakes her own suicide.

Hiram is sad but believes he is untouchable due to misinformation from betty, “Archie would never move against you and also you’re too powerful to be taken down by the FBI. Really, I promise!”

Veronica believes she has caused her mother’s death and in a game of G and G drinks from one of the goblets and has a seizure.

Believing jughead to be responsible for Veronica’s death (j made a very vague threat about hiram’s loved ones bearing the consequences of his actions) Hiram challenges him to a boxing match. Jughead accepts seeing it as a chance for vengeance. Things aren’t going with well for jughead without his flip knife.

Suddenly Archie sees Veronica’s body and believing her to be dead drinks from both cups just to be sure he will die too. Before he dies he rips his shirt in grief that it’s come to this. This distracts Hiram so Jughead is able to gain the upper hand. Turns out Archie had the abs to defeat him afterall!

Then betty arrives with the FBI in tow (Burnham forest baby!) and arrests Hiram before jughead can kill him. All mourn the tragic death of Archie and Veronica. But then cheryl shows up and A&V wake up- turns out there was no poison in either challis (she decided not to carry on her mum’s poison stuff…she prefers shooting ppl with her bow) She seems poised to shoot everyone in the room in revenge and then in Cheryl fashion announces that she never liked her family anyway and now she gets to inherit the whole blossom fortune. And she’s in a polyamorous relationship with Tony and Hermione lodge and sashays away with a “toodles”.

And just as you think, hey this isn’t too unhinged for Riverdale. All the characters wake up in hospital (bc they have the set so they need to use it) and discover they have all been in comas induced by the runoff from Cheryl’s uncle’s fizzlerocks production. Nothing matters bc it’s Riverdale. Goodnight!

11. Who do you think is the most underrated character?

man i have GOT to say Veronica and Josie like another of the mutuals did. they are just my everything and they DON’T get their dues. I’m so interested in them as characters, I don’t believe they’re really explored enough honestly (not to say I find Betty boring sometimes but…). And I’m also especially interested in their relationships with Archie, they’re some of my absolute favorites in the show, and I think each of them reflects and relates with some of my favorite aspects of his character in really really great and fascinating ways. I think I’ve kind of gotten myself completely isolated from whatever Archie hate there is out there, but I certainly believe it exists, and if I saw more of it I would definitely say Archie as well. Big fan of Fangs too tbh, not much to him but he’s a joy to have on screen.

ALSO, answering this seperately for the riverPARENTS, because I 🫶🫶 Mayor McCoy (legal first name Mayor, later changed to Attorney) and Hermione Lodge and I do believe they are severely underrated.

6. Which musical episode is your favorite?

God I love all of them, but it’s got to be Wicked Little Town, HANDS DOWN my favorite. I am a very strict barchie hater, I really can’t stand them, HOWEVER, I love the drama, and the tragedy that I know what’s coming, what the fallout of this is going to be. Besides that, it’s the first, and kind of the only, musical episode that really encompasses the whole town. You have everybody—at Pop’s, the parents, etc—singing Wicked Little Town which I’m pretty obsessed with that beginning sequence; you have Cheryl singing Sugar Daddy at Pop’s. It really gets them out of the auditorium, making it more fully a musical episode! I also listen to the music from this one all the time so I also just like the music the best, but yeah, even though it’s super cut down in the actual episode, it gave us the core four Origin of Love which I couldn’t live without, which in turn gave us the core four Origin of Love AMV; it gave us Archie gay kiss #2, it gave us almost gay Principal Honey, formerly Jack from Dawson’s Creek, I could go on, it’s one of my favorite episodes of tv, and a highlight of the fourth season which is generally NOT a favorite of mine. OH, and it gave us “there’s a problem that comes when you get caught up on your homework. Your mind wanders… and evil creeps back in.” which is one of my favorite lines ever in the show and my instagram bio.

14. Which AMV is your favorite?

ok, I’ll just do a long list; the Bodies amv, the 1984 amv which was the first one i ever saw has suuuuch a special place in my heart, the Archie Modern Girl amv‼️, the beronica Troublemaker/Doppelgänger amv‼️‼️, oobviously the Origin of Love amv, archie cleopatra, time warp, runs in the family, VERONICA ARCHIE AND HIRAM SUPERBOY AND THE INVISBLE GIRL, jarchie cut to the feeling!! jarchie imaginary friend, archie you’re on your own kid and would’ve could’ve should’ve, betty and veronica king. ok ending the list there. we’re blessed with too many good ones is what i’d answer this question with i guess, this isn’t even possibly an exhaustive list, it literally could not possibly be. Thoughts on Riverdale Episode 6

Look at these well-off white kids inviting people over to their house to eat their parents’ food without asking their parents first.

That said, Betty’s mom is terrible and deserves that kind of sneak attack.

I can’t tell how much Hermione is mad at her husband and wanting to leave him or is trying to stand by him and continue to do his dirty work only as a way to protect herself & Veronica. But she should to make something official before she goes kissing on Fred Andrews. And Fred should make sure it’s official before he goes kissing on Hermione. And then they should totally go to town, because they’re clearly super into each other and have what seems like a ton of history.

Also LOL Fred and Hermione kissing. What a different series that would have been.

I support Veronica as a (temporary) Pussycat.

I hate almost all the parents on this show. Hermione is cool (obvi a flawed person, but in a realistic way that makes me root for her still), Fred is cool (if kind of uneven in his parenting), Mayor McCoy seems cool (though I can’t tell yet if she’s controlling her daughter or just helping guide her), and Sheriff Keller is cool (especially for being chill not just about his son being gay, but actually being gay), but the rest of them are shit.

“Hello my loyal and lovely fanbase this is Y/N Y/L/N reporting from riverdale once again.” You greeted your fans. “Where here at Riverdale High it is just a normal day.” You say walking down the hallway.

“While just moments ago on the southside the police lead by Riverdale’s own mayor was raided and many students wrongfully arrested.” You expose walking into the student lounge. “Now it’s no secret that the government in Riverdale has been corrupt for years but some say that the deception has reached an all-time high with the arrival of the Lodge family.”

”umm excuse me?” Veronica's voice sounds from behind you.

”ah, Veronica Lodge.” you smiled turning the camera. ”Do you feel any remorse for the student at Southside high that were arrested today?” you asked.

”Absolutely not, the Lodge family strongly believe that committing a crime deserves to be punished. And drugs are a serious offence.” she smiles at the camera.

”Yeah, that why Mr. Lodge is pushing for a prison on the southside. Archie added.

”that's interesting.” you said reaching for your tablet and pulling up a video. ”because this video would suggest your stance on drug use is completely different from your previous statement.”

‘Calm down Nicky, I’m just getting going.’ Veronica’s voice plays.

“Which show you and many of the people in this very room consuming the highly addictive and illegal drug know as jingle jangle.” You exposed.

Around the room you could see the shocked faces of those in the room.

“Where did you get that?” Archie asked reaching for the tablet causing you to pull away.

“An anonymous source.” you replied tucking the tablet back into your bag. ”but fear not you'll be able to see the whole thing when I post it later.

”what you have nothing better to do with your life than this?” Kevin asked.

”I would watch it, Keller this video has also been sent to the District Attorney's office. Bringing into question why an unlawful raid was performed at Southside high when the children of Riverdale, who were actually caught doing the drugs, have nothing but community service.” you inform.

”also Reggie Mantle who admitted to, and I quote, ’hooking it up.’ with said drugs.” you continue. ”only Betty Cooper had the common sense not to partake in the devil's sugar.”

Turning the camera back to yourself.

”so there you have it riverdale a town with a system so corrupt even the major and sheriff would arrest innocent teens to protect their own children, while it appears nothing is being done about the serial killer on the loose.” you said. ”this has been Y/N Y/L/N wondering when are things going to change? Until next time keep it Sweet like the water.”

Turning off the camera you turn back to Kevin

”Nothing personal but something had to be done.” you said.

”something like my dad losing his job?” he asked.

”if your dad was doing his job, you and your friends would be in jail.” you replied. ”not a group of serpents that did nothing wrong.”

”that's not our fault.” Archie argued.

”oh it never is, is it? Nothing is ever your fault when you shift the blame to others. I'd watch out Archie your Lodge is showing.” you shot.

”No one conspired to do anything.” Josie said.

”really so your parents didn't have a secret meeting to discuss the event of the part organized to entertain the son of a deathly inverter for the Lodge prison?” you asked. ”If it were anyone else an appropriate punishment would have been issued.”

”why do you even care?” Reggie asked.

”Well unlike you people I'm sick of the corruption and injustice in this town, and I'm gonna do something about it.” you answered. ”its just a shame that instead of being a solution some of the most powerful families in this town is apart of the problem. Now if you'll excuse me I have somewhere to be.”

“Maybe you should be more careful, Y/N that speak is sounding very Black Hood to me.” Veronica added.

“Oh silly Ms.Lodge know that if i were the Black Hood it would be you that would want to be careful.” You smirked. Taking your leave.

“What is it today Ms.Y/L/N?” The sheriff asked as you walked into the station. “Did you see the Black Hood J walking?” He joked.

“Very close but no,” you said with a fake smile. “But funny you would mention the Letter ‘J’” you said pulling out your phone and showing a snippet from the video you had shown previously at school.

“Correct me if I’m wrong but is this it is this not you sons Mr. Kevin Keller consuming Jingle Jangle?” You asked the rhetorical question. “Yet I dont recall him being dragged out of school like many students on the southside this morning, care to explain?” You asked pulling a tape recorder out of you bag and holding it to his face.

“What do you want?” He asked getting straight to the point.

“ release the Serpents. Now.” You said smile being wide off you face as there was no longer any need for false plesentries.

“Wow, Sweet Pea when you said Y/N had it handled I didn’t think it would accually pan out.” Toni said walking out if the sheriffs station with the rest of the serpent.

“Well that’ll teach you never underestimate my girl, she can be scarier that any serial killer out there.” He bragged slinging his at around your shoulder. “That’s why I always say if you only have one phone call, call Y/N.”

“Noted.” Fangs said falling into two beside you and sweet pea.

“Oh you haven’t seen ow scary I can be, but you will.” You said. “After what they did to you guys I’m bout to rain down a hell storm like non Riverdale has ever seen. Now lets head to pops I’m sure you guys must be starving.” You offer.

“Wow, She’s a mind reader to lets go.” Toni said quickening her steps.

You say all in all today was pretty productive, now all thats left is to down some cheese fries and then destroy the upper class and governmental system of a small town. You’ve had better days but this one was okay.

Riverdale S1 E6

All the spoiler warnings!

- I wish the rules of Protagonist Boy didn't mandate that every straight girl in Archie's vicinity has to have a thing for him.

- Jughead opening narration and he's typing away in the middle of the night. Where is he? He's already moved into the school at this point, right?

- Valerie is amazing. Gorgeous, insightful in a serene way (compared to Veronica's aggressively conclusion- oriented analyses), beautiful singing voice & The Real Deal. She deserved better all around. More Valerie!! But then, what would someone as functional and stable as Valerie have done during Jingle Jangle deliveries, Black Hood, The Gargoyle King and the Farm and Mothmen and.... OK so maybe Valerie just went to Julliard after acing her SATs while Archie was in prison fight club and being partially eaten by a bear, and went on to compose amazing songs.

- I love Jughead's complexion in this episode. Translucently pale, very La Boheme. His undereye shadows are literally blue and purple.

- Veronica's look with the cat ears when she joins the Pussycats is just absolutely heart stopping, and Hermione's eye makeup is CHEF'S KISS.

- This bit never made sense to me and it looks absolutely crazypants this time too: Polly saying BE HAPPY FOR MY UNPLANNED TEEN PREGNANCY WITH JASON, A BOY WHO PUT MY NAME IN THE SLAM BOOK and Betty going I AM! Um why??

- Josie and her parents are all assholes. I am taken aback by how different Josie is from how she is in later seasons. Her father Myles in particular is absolutely insufferable in a way that is positively Hiram-esque. He undermines his wife and blatantly sabotages his gifted daughter. Lots of villain potential there, but wasted, alas.

-I also wish they'd played up Mayor McCoy's potential to be a villain better so that it wasn't just Hiram playing Fuck, Marry, Kill with Archie, Reggie and Jughead season after season. She is willing to take bribes and lets her jackass pretentious husband be hideously rude to her guests, for example. But they defang her later and then put her in bed with Sheriff Keller and I can't even remember what even happens to her.

- Oh wow, I forgot The First Bughead Kiss happens here!! Just as sweet every time. Jughead getting so verklempt he loses his voice and then he can't talk because he's Gonna Do It Now. Oh so adorable. Because we all know that boy can talk SO MUCH. However - I stand by what I said about the Joaquin- Kevin kiss being a hotter kiss, qua kissing. If you want Betty to not go OH THE INVESTIGATION in the moment, Jughead, put some lip into it.

- Speaking of, I do like very much that this show treats the sexuality of the middle aged with due respect. I mean it's LUKE PERRY so that's not too difficult but still. Appreciation.

Sierra had a whole ass model of Riverdale in her office. 

Where is it now? Did she get to take it with her when she resigned? Did she and Tom take it in pieces and load it into the cruiser after she stepped down because she didn’t want Hermione touching her things? Did they do it in the middle of the night so no one would catch her? Did she get it made for the jubilee or do all mayors need to have scale models in town hall for all to see?

All I’m saying is sometimes maybe she has a glass or three of wine and digs some of Josie’s old Barbies up and pretends she’s mayor again. That’s it.
