Law & Order, Season 23, episode 5: "Last Dance"

Blah, blah, blah, rich tech mogul commits murder to cover-up that he's a sexual predator. Variation on a tried-and-true story that the show has used since time immemorial.

But they had to make it more complicated to write Jack McCoy off the show.

In Seasons 18 and 19, you had Governor Donald Shalvoy and he was very clearly a fictionalized version of former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer. I guess they didn't want to anger the current NYC Mayor, Eric Adams, by having a fictionalized version of him being corrupt. But in the era of #MeToo where formerly untouchable powerful men (for decades) got away with all sorts of sexually predatory actions, it strains credulity that someone would not simply cut their losses and distance himself from the suspect. But you need an antagonist, right?

I'm often not a fan of the criticism that something is contrived. A story is a story and the actions a character takes are written to lead to a certain point. Everything is contrived in fiction. It's how well you do it.

Since the show came back, the writers show they simply cannot do it well. Everything has gotta be a twist, curve-ball, or an absurd social commentary (and I'm saying that about a show that did social commentary since episode ONE). If anyone is wondering where my gripe is on that last one, it goes back to my bone to pick with Nolan "Spineless Coward" Price giving IMMUNITY to a SCHOOL SHOOTER so he could PROSECUTE THE FATHER for the shooting.

Now, do I believe (in certain cases) parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children in this case? Absolutely. The Ethan Crumbley case in Michigan is a perfect example! There NOT definite warnings signs: There were FUCKING FIVE-ALARM BELLS and red flags the size of football fields that something was seriously wrong with the kid and he needed help, not for his mother to buy him a fucking gun. Parents were charged without any immunity. I still hold that against the writers.

Rick Eid's run as show-runner has demonstrated a clear lack of knowledge of character history on the show (Jack in particular), a lack of even the loosest understanding of the law works in the show's universe, and a desperate need for actual lawyers as consultants or on the writing staff.

I'm also convinced that writers hate Hugh Dancy. The guy has acting chops, he was wonderful in HANNIBAL. But like… refer to my earlier description of Nolan Price.

Which brings us to Jack's sendoff and the overall story.

Mayor Payne? Yeah, that's certainly subtle.

I often think back to how Jack (and Mike Cutter) fought back against the GOVERNOR and they can't handle the freaking mayor? Writers, what the fuck?

I guess where the writers got something right was Jack believes in justice for the victim, regardless of who you are. And they gave Jack one last courtroom battle. And, on one hand, it is fitting. They wanted Jack to go out in a figurative blaze of glory. He was alone in the court, no second chair. I do wonder if he thought about all the second chairs he's had and how they helped him along the way (I am getting weirdly emotional writing this). And despite the fact he got burned, he managed to burn his enemies on the way out.

But this isn't the end I wanted.

Sometimes, a low-key ending is suitable for a character who worked (by my own calculation) 50-plus years in the DA's office (perhaps closer to 60 years). Who tried some significant cases, contributed to case-law that the show SHOULD HAVE REFERENCED, mentored each of his second chairs after Claire and Jamie. Mentored Mike Cutter.

Jack simply deciding just to retire and not run for re-election and spend the rest of his days fixing his relationship with his daughter, spend time with his grandson, write a book, maybe be a talking-head on legal shows (no, I can't see that), fine. But I wish they could have convinced Sam Waterston to finish out the season, maybe recording something so they show a goodbye party or SOMETHING to start next season, and then have the newly-elected DA introduced. That would have been more satisfying.

As for everything else about this episode. Couldn't the writers, I don't know, research and clarify their own damn show?

All Executive Assistant District Attorneys. I know there was some debate on whether or not Nolan Price was actually an EADA. But now he's Deputy District Attorney? What? Writers, there are other EADAs in the DA's office. I realize that the writers have always played fast-and-loose on the hierarchy of the fictional DAs office. SVU had Chief Assistant District Attorney Charlie Philips who spoke of "assigning" a case to Jack McCoy, which I always took more as a administrative role versus a trial role, which put him above Jack in whatever hierarchy worked in the show.

But there were times it very much seemed like Jack WAS the next person in charge if the DA was unavailable until his own appointment.

And then you have the board shown in Season 21 where it seems they had dug it out of storage since it still hate Mike and Connie listed, with Mike being "Chief Assistant District Attorney" before they changed it to "Nolan Price" by the next episode.

I've always been frustrated with the sloppiness of the writing since the show came back and this just adds to the pile.

It has. I started this show in September of 1998 and even in the periods I didn't watch it too much, there was some comfort that Jack was always there. And I delayed watching this because I just couldn't accept the end.

And now I have.

On this day, 1 August 1921, Sid Hatfield, the pro-union chief of police of Matewan, West Virginia, was assassinated alongside his friend, deputy Ed Chambers, by Baldwin-Felts private detectives in Welch, WV. Born in 1891 into the Hatfield family, of the legendary Hatfield-McCoy feud, Sid Hatfield worked as a miner, blacksmith, and eventually chief of police. But he was a unique character in US labour history, especially for the time, since he was a vigourous supporter of the United Mine Workers of America union. At the time, mine bosses in West Virginia were waging a vicious war against workers, attempting to prevent them unionising in the state and winning better pay and safer conditions. In most places, police helped mine bosses arrest, beat and kill striking workers. But in Matewan, Hatfield defended miners. In the Battle of Matewan in 1920, hired thugs from the Baldwin-Felts detective agency arrived in the town to evict striking miners from their homes, and arrest Hatfield with a phony warrant. Hatfield, a crack shot known for holding two pistols, told them the only way the detectives would take him out of the town was "dead". Shooting then broke out, which left 10 people dead: two miners, the mayor, and seven Baldwin-Felts agents. Sid Hatfield and 22 others, mostly miners, were put on trial for the killings of the agents, but none were convicted by any local juries. So instead, Baldwin-Felts agents plotted to murder Hatfield. When Hatfield and Chambers attended McDowell County courthouse on August 1, 1921, agents shot them to death. Despite the victims being unarmed, the agents were acquitted of murder on the basis of "self defence". anyways, here's a bunch of headcanons and notes that i have for what i have developed with MEL MY BELOVED BESTIE; and if it's chill, i will probably default to this verse being my main / primary. so if you're groovy, i'd like to write in this verse.

💜💙 freefall happens a little differently, in that linda and clint never dated, but they are friends mostly because linda is dating @thefleetsfinest and leonard adopted a stray alcoholic (clint) that is how that is going

💜💙 linda and clint still attend the gala together, or more linda runs into clint at the f.e.a.s.t. charity thing (leonard is probably in attendance too / linda still calls tony small dick energy and then kisses her doctor boyfriend) and both are squinty eyes at him the entire time

💜💙 Clint is actually injured going to Linda's clinic when Spiderman and Captain America confront him, and Linda still goes to defend him; partly because she will not have that happening right outside of her clinic. it definitely one of the leading causes where she wants some space from clint

💜💙 Clint still brings Bryce to Linda's apartment, and Bryce dies, and that's why Clint gets banned from her apartment. Linda calls Leonard to help with clean up, and Leonard helps Clint in the direct aftermath

💜 Clint and Peter have been becoming closer friends, since Clint apologized, and it's once Clint has joined the Thunderbolts, that is when Clint and Peter start to flirt a little more, and one thing leads to another, that leads to feelings and a relationship. Clint's been a Thunderbolt for the city for some time now, in a relationship with Peter for some time. About a year probably.

💜 Peter and part-time Mayday move in with Clint at some point down the line, making the Spiderman and little Bug mainstays in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. The neighbors at Bed-Stuy absolutely love Peter B. Parker, and he's a big help at fixing things and making thee apartment labeling make sense

💜 Clint and MJ are buds, pals, friends; he loves her. The Barton-Parker-Watson family is so good and wholesome. Kate Bishop is also a part of that, DUH, Peter gets Kate in Clint's will. Kate and Peter have such a funny friendship.

💜 Eventually, Clint does get back in good graces with the Avengers, and even returns to the Avengers in the time of emergencies. He can be both a TB and an Avenger sometimes as a treat.

💜 Clint's even visited Spider-society once, because Peter vouched really had for a bring-your-boyfriend to work day.

💜 Clint's best friend, outside of his other best friends. His non-superhero friend if he has to be specific is Leonard, he loves harassing his doctor, needs him as his sponsor. has become more of brother to him than barney is, and is his best friend. they just get each other. and he swears if leonard gets hurt.

💜 Leonard makes Clint cry more than he'd care to admit to, like when Leonard and the Mccoy family adopt Clint as their own, and treat him like family. It makes him cry and stop he knows it's okay to cry Peter, he's till crying though and its ugly. He also just loves Leonard a lot.

💙 Linda and Leonard start dating before Freefall takes place exact timeline uncertain. this happens after Leonard wises up. She cares a lot about him, and was just giving him space to adjust to moving to New York and involving himself in superhero lives. They are so close with each other, and really it was a matter of time.

💙 The Night Nurse Network is a thing, with Linda's clinic being a whole location, and she's got her rolodex of associates. She's got help now, she's not the only doctor/physician acting as more than half of NYC's hero population's pcp and emergency doctor. She has @thefleetsfinest and @hopeburns (when she's not in space) who both can be ran into and seen around the clinic, as well most importantly, everyone's favorite waiting room buddy, Leonard's corgi Luna. there's three doctors/nurses are the night nurse clinic now.

💙 As Clint would put it, the crush era between Linda and Leonard was unbearable (and since clint was drinking at the time / he drank to that) as Leonard would deny any time he got jealous that Linda was trying to date and get out there. Linda absolutely hated that time, as most dates were just not interesting or went poorly, and she did not really want to be "getting out there", plus Leonard was right there and really they were both unbearable and oblivious to each other's interest in the other!

💙 Linda always ends up back at the clinic after her dates (the one time with the lizard girl), and most of that she ends up hanging out with Leonard after all her dates, cause he's more interesting (and the ideal guy)

💙 Linda's friends include Jessica Drew (and Carol by extension), Stephen Strange (they get coffee, he's a pest once he knows about leonard too absolutely awful), Laelynn (by extension her girlfriend Luce), and Leonard (by extension clint and peter are around a too), and than there is Danny and Luke as well.

💙 Speaking of Jessica Drew, Linda absolutely adores babysitting Gerry when given the chance. To add to that, she starts watching Mayday Parker as well which she really doesn't mind, because of Leonard doing a favor for @crisispider and Clint.

💜🧡 Clint and Peter watch Greer's kid William sometimes, which naturally Clint is like "Oh my pal leonard can watch him too" which sorry Leonard you didn't like those curtains did you anyways. So Greer has Clint or lets Clint's friend Leonard watch William.

💙💜 So Linda and Leonard babysit, just as Clint and Peter will baby sit all the super kids they know.

💙 Linda was more nervous about Leonard meeting her mother, than about meeting the Mccoys or Leonard meeting the rest of her family. This is mostly because of the fact that her mother was unpredictable in how her opinion could be swayed. It wouldn't change anything, but it'd be preferrable if she was Leonard-favorable.

💛 Wasps and spiders may be natural enemies (which may not be true), but Nadia has said she has arguably warmed up to @crisispider but like Miles is still the cooler Spiderman

❤️ Luce (i know i need to add her) is absolute buds with @crisispider it happens mostly because she quips back to at least half of Spiderman's jokes with quotes in specific voice, and they usually grab a bite after a tough day of heroing. That and they get the whole secret identity.

❤️ Luce is Newark's vigilante, but she'll end up wherever a lead will take her which is more often than not over the water to NYC. She tries to avoid being in Manhattan, minus the Night Nurse clinic which is currently in Manhattan, because every superhero and his mom defends Manhattan. She'll go defend Staten Island if she has to over Manhattan (that's a joke she'll kick names and take ass anywhere, wait a minute)

❤️ LUCE ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT PROVE LEGAL ADVICE ! She knows why are asking @crisispider so go pester a lawyer! She is just a paralegal, and it's in her opinion that like hawkeye should not.

FUTURE PLANS AND EVENTS

💜 THE WURM -> don't worry about :) -> it's not a cosmic threat :) -> all in your minds :) -> it's my blog, so of course, this would happen in a meddium length hawkeye run :)

💜 A few relapses for Clint, superhero shit is tough but he always gets back on and it never lasts long. his sobriety lasts longer.

💙 Linda has to relocate the clinic, which actually ends up being more upsetting than she'll care to admit. It happen, it's happened before, she's always moved when needed. This time it's more because Danny Rand had bought the last building to remove rent as an issue for her. She knows it was a give back thank you gift, these things happen, it is still absolutely a stressful and massive plan when she moves her clinic out of the Lower East Side. She tries to find a place near the same area and still in Manhattan, but rent is a bitch. She manages to find a place in Turtle Bay, between 2nd and 3rd.

💜 Clint's best man is . . . complicated. It ends up being co-best man Kate and Leonard. He had to narrow down groomspeople to a limit number of four. Figuring out who is. . . . still tough.

💙 The meeting of the Carters and Mccoys was something, which to date may be the most stressed that Linda has ever been to date. It goes well, mostly.

💙 Linda and Leonard will get married too, and Linda wants it family and friends, and keep it small and quiet. As much as it can be when there are already a few superheroes who have to be on the list ( stephen plus clint and peter)

💜 Clint is Leonard's best man for his wedding with Linda. IT IS VERY EMOTIONAL. and Clint's speech is great (awful)

💙 linda's dress is a little decade inspired, just below the knee in leg, with some umpf to the skirt, off the shoulders or at least neck bare, good for dancing, very simple. the more exciting part of this is really the lace she is wearing underneath.

💜 Peter is gonna have a second kid with Clint. They are gonna be girl dads time two.

Archie Andrews- Frozen Ice

Taken from my book on wattpad, just changed to fit a YN x Archie Andrews imagine

Cheryl hasn’t been answering her phone which is extremely worrying, especially after the text I had saying she was going to be with Jason. So now here we were are, Jughead, Archie, Veronica, Betty and I running the frozen Sweetwater River

“Oh my god there she is” I yell pointing to Cheryl stood breaking the ice.

“CHERYL STOP. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Archie yells taking my hand and pulling me even closer to the frozen water. We attempt to run across the ice, but it’s not strong enough to hold our weight

"CHERYL PLEASE" Veronica yells "just come to the shore we can figure this out all together ok?"

“Cheryl she’s right. Just start walking to us slowly. We’ll help you” I shout

Cheryl nods her head and begins to take a step to walk back to us but the ice under us gives way. Forgetting that the ice is so thin we begin to run towards her. Archie tells me to go back to make sure I’m safe, but of course I don’t listen and continue to run. I watch as Archie begins breaking the ice with his fists to get to Cheryl. Jug manages to pull her out, but the ice breaking from underneath me

“YN!” is the last thing I hear before everything becomes muffled. The water is so cold that I feel numb. Soon enough everything goes black.

Suddenly I'm coughing up water with Archie sitting next to me and Betty holding my hand. The girls sigh in relief. I shiver feeling extremely cold

“Babe are you ok?”

“Y-yeah” I shiver “ch-Cheryl?” I look around to see Cheryl crying while Veronica is rubbing her arms up and down to try and keep her warm, or attempt to warm her up

"Let's get you warmed up ok?" Archie scoops me in his arms and carries me to his dads truck. Inside are some blankets that I wrap around myself.

"Oh my god YN are you ok?” mum and dad runs into the living room where I'm sat by the fire with Archie’s arm around me and a hot chocolate in my hands

"Mum, dad, I wasn't... I didn't.... It's not..." I splutter

"I know. Archie rang me and told me what happened, how you were trying to get to Cheryl"

"I should have listened to you Arch”

"Shhh shhhh it's ok. Your safe now thats all that matters. I'm not going to the Jubilee tonight. I’m going to stay here with you”

"Errr no your not you are going to that jubilee” I snap at Archie "we all are"

"No, you blacked out. I had to give you CPR"

"Archie I'm fine. Now go and get your guitar and get ready to play"

"Are you sure YN?" mum asks worriedly

"I'm sure"

"Welcome one and all to Riverdales 75th anniversary jubilee celebration" Mayor McCoy says into the microphone on the stage as we all clap "I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce my daughter Josie and her pussycats as they perform alongside our local hero Archie Andrews" Betty squeezes my hand a little, we're stood off to the side to watch. Once again everyone starts clapping

"Hi everyone. We're switching things up tonight we are singing a song that my boy Archie wrote" Josie says and the music starts. Archie starts playing his guitar and singing. My eyes start watering and I feel so proud of my boyfriend. When he's finished the song he walks off stage, I hug my him and Betty walks on to give her speech

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'd like to thank Mayor McCoy for inviting me to speak on this historic day. 75 years of Riverdale. But what is Riverdale? It's the people right? You, me, friends, our neighbours. Riverdale is Archie Andrew. Kevin Keller is Riverdale, Veronica Lodge, YN YLN, but you know who else is Riverdale? FP Jones. We were so quick to blame for Jason's murder. Jughead Jones is Riverdale, the very soul of Riverdale. Without him, we would have lost Cheryl tonight and we would have never found out what truly happened to Jason. And yet how do we thank him? By banishing him. Which is what we do when the truth is to ugly in Riverdale. Truth being that Clifford Blossom was also Riverdale. Riverdales at a crossroads. If we don't face the reality of who and what we are then what happened to Jason could happen again. Riverdale must do better. We must do better" Betty finishes and the room is silent. I stand up and start to clap, I hear someone clapping behind me and turn to see Jughead clapping. Soon the whole room is stood up clapping.

After the jubilee we sit in Pops at a booth with a milkshake each

"To Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones who saves the cheerleaders and saved the town" Veronica says

"Actually I think that was Betty's speech" Arch says

"Here here to Betty Cooper"

"Cheers" we all says clinking our milkshakes together.

That night we had many milkshakes and that night in the booth at pops we felt safe, but deep down I know this feeling won't last and soon we will be back to doing what we seem to do best.... Solving murders

I find myself obsessed with the concept of a Riverdale Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet fusion (with a smattering of Hamlet)

Imagine Hiram Lodge as Macbeth and Hermione Lodge as Lady M taking over Riverdale by killing Fred Andrews in a convenient “accident”. Archie knows this bc the ghost of his father told him (but he also could have just been high on the jingle jangle in those cookies but try telling that to the sheriff) and he is determined to take revenge but falls in love with veronica while infiltrating hiram’s drug operation (ok i guess there’s quite a bit of Hamlet ).

Betty is Rosalind in this situation (Archie’s ex who he leaves for Veronica). Betty is also an FBI informant (duh) who goes to Hiram and offers to spy on Archie for him (citing revenge for him dumping her) but secretly she feeds him false information that makes him increasingly paranoid (acts as three witches) and with Veronica’s help convinces Hermione to get hiram to dispose of the blossoms- the only other powerful family in riverdale that poses a threat to Hiram’s control of Riverdale (to stop Penelope blossom’s poisonous involment in g&g). Cheryl survives the attack and flees Thornhill (Fleance).

Meanwhile Jughead who has been resisting Hiram’s attempts to buy out sunnyside trailer park seeks out Archie (Malcolm) believing he is the solution to Hiram lodge’s power grab - he is now the only red-head in Riverdale and thus by an ancient law (introduced by the Blossoms- no wonder they wanted to set him up with Cheryl) could stand as a mayoral candidate at the last minute and can trigger an election and as ppl think he is a golden retriever he could push Hermione lodge out of office. And who else has the abs to defeat hiram in a boxing match?

Unfortunately archie is like, “oh idk if i could do that jug. Hirams a pretty buff dude ;)” When jughead (Macduff) returns home disappointed he finds the serpents have been attacked by the ghoulies employed by Hiram. FP is in hospital in critical condition. This motivates him to inspire the serpents and northsiders to unite against hiram. The southsiders respond with community organisation and the northsiders are also…helpful? Gay kevin puts on a musical denouncing Hiram lodge, Alice Cooper writes damaging articles and Josie McCoy sings at every protest. Sweet pea, Tony and Fangs are quizzical at first but eventually just shrug and enjoy these…interesting tactics.

Meanwhile hermione lodge is encouraged to flee as betty claims that hiram has begun to turn on her as well bc he knows about her affair with Fred Andrews. Veronica fakes an attempt on her mother’s life from Hiram, believing it will encourage her to leave. However, Hermione, overcome by guilt and fear, fakes her own suicide.

Hiram is sad but believes he is untouchable due to misinformation from betty, “Archie would never move against you and also you’re too powerful to be taken down by the FBI. Really, I promise!”

Veronica believes she has caused her mother’s death and in a game of G and G drinks from one of the goblets and has a seizure.

Believing jughead to be responsible for Veronica’s death (j made a very vague threat about hiram’s loved ones bearing the consequences of his actions) Hiram challenges him to a boxing match. Jughead accepts seeing it as a chance for vengeance. Things aren’t going with well for jughead without his flip knife.

Suddenly Archie sees Veronica’s body and believing her to be dead drinks from both cups just to be sure he will die too. Before he dies he rips his shirt in grief that it’s come to this. This distracts Hiram so Jughead is able to gain the upper hand. Turns out Archie had the abs to defeat him afterall!

Then betty arrives with the FBI in tow (Burnham forest baby!) and arrests Hiram before jughead can kill him. All mourn the tragic death of Archie and Veronica. But then cheryl shows up and A&V wake up- turns out there was no poison in either challis (she decided not to carry on her mum’s poison stuff…she prefers shooting ppl with her bow) She seems poised to shoot everyone in the room in revenge and then in Cheryl fashion announces that she never liked her family anyway and now she gets to inherit the whole blossom fortune. And she’s in a polyamorous relationship with Tony and Hermione lodge and sashays away with a “toodles”.

And just as you think, hey this isn’t too unhinged for Riverdale. All the characters wake up in hospital (bc they have the set so they need to use it) and discover they have all been in comas induced by the runoff from Cheryl’s uncle’s fizzlerocks production. Nothing matters bc it’s Riverdale. Goodnight!

The Farm of Delbert and Ethel McCoy, Storm Lake, Iowa

I believe I took these photographs in the summer of 1979. Apparently, I climbed upon the roof of the corn crib for this point of view; I’m looking northward. None of this remains today, alas.

The three main buildings of the farm appear on this USGS map (from the same period). The farm was east of the lake itself, near Lakeside—of which my grandfather was mayor for a time.

11. Who do you think is the most underrated character?

man i have GOT to say Veronica and Josie like another of the mutuals did. they are just my everything and they DON’T get their dues. I’m so interested in them as characters, I don’t believe they’re really explored enough honestly (not to say I find Betty boring sometimes but…). And I’m also especially interested in their relationships with Archie, they’re some of my absolute favorites in the show, and I think each of them reflects and relates with some of my favorite aspects of his character in really really great and fascinating ways. I think I’ve kind of gotten myself completely isolated from whatever Archie hate there is out there, but I certainly believe it exists, and if I saw more of it I would definitely say Archie as well. Big fan of Fangs too tbh, not much to him but he’s a joy to have on screen.

ALSO, answering this seperately for the riverPARENTS, because I 🫶🫶 Mayor McCoy (legal first name Mayor, later changed to Attorney) and Hermione Lodge and I do believe they are severely underrated.

6. Which musical episode is your favorite?

God I love all of them, but it’s got to be Wicked Little Town, HANDS DOWN my favorite. I am a very strict barchie hater, I really can’t stand them, HOWEVER, I love the drama, and the tragedy that I know what’s coming, what the fallout of this is going to be. Besides that, it’s the first, and kind of the only, musical episode that really encompasses the whole town. You have everybody—at Pop’s, the parents, etc—singing Wicked Little Town which I’m pretty obsessed with that beginning sequence; you have Cheryl singing Sugar Daddy at Pop’s. It really gets them out of the auditorium, making it more fully a musical episode! I also listen to the music from this one all the time so I also just like the music the best, but yeah, even though it’s super cut down in the actual episode, it gave us the core four Origin of Love which I couldn’t live without, which in turn gave us the core four Origin of Love AMV; it gave us Archie gay kiss #2, it gave us almost gay Principal Honey, formerly Jack from Dawson’s Creek, I could go on, it’s one of my favorite episodes of tv, and a highlight of the fourth season which is generally NOT a favorite of mine. OH, and it gave us “there’s a problem that comes when you get caught up on your homework. Your mind wanders… and evil creeps back in.” which is one of my favorite lines ever in the show and my instagram bio.

14. Which AMV is your favorite?

i loved that this was one of the questions, but now that I’m being asked to actually answer it….

Erick Lehnsherr, mejor conocido como Magneto en el bajo mundo. Perseguía al joven castaño que le asignaron en su última misión.

Su jefe pensaba que ese pequeño ratón de biblioteca tenía que ver con la organización contraria y quería ponerlos fuera del juego lo antes posible.

Aunque Erick tenía sus dudas sobre el joven y se lo hizo saber a su jefe.

No es posible que ese pequeño nerd sea parte de los X-Men - Afirmó con total seguridad ante Apocalipsis, su jefe y el único hombre que le daba miedo - Charles Xavier es pequeño, débil y patético - Tuvo un mal sabor de boca al hablar así de un chico inocente, pero no quería matar a alguien que no podría defenderse siquiera - Lo único destacable es que adoptó a sus hermanos menores como hijos y eso no es ningún crimen.

Ese chico se reúne con Summers, Mccoy, Howlett y Grey - Respondió su jefe con naturalidad - No puede codearse con esos malnacidos y ser inocente.

Le juró que no he visto nada sospechoso en él - Respondió Erick con simpleza - En realidad es aburrido y predecible.

No me importa - Apocalipsis tenía la tendencia de actuar como un niño berrinchudo y no renunciaría a su objetivo, aunque esté fuera ridículo - Quiero que te acerques a él y lo conviertas en tu juguete - Su jefe sonrió con tanta malicia que Erick casi podía ver al demonio susurrando al oído del único hombre que lograba causarle temor - Se de buena fuente que el chico tiene inclinación por los hombres, aunque sea algo asqueroso para ti, pero no tendrás problemas en seguir una orden, ¿Me equivocó?.

Haré lo que usted diga, pero no es algo que me agrade - Erick no tenía problema en acostarse con hombres, pero siempre lo hacía como un medio para lograr un fin, aunque el pequeño ratón era muy atractivo - Me voy a buscar a mi objetivo.

Magneto se retiró de la sala y Apocalipsis comenzó a idear un plan para acabar con los X-Men de raíz, pero todos sus planes tenían un serio problema, ¿Cómo acabar con alguien que no conoces?. Nadie sabía quién era el líder de los X-Men, el hombre se hacía llamar "Profesor X" y era una maldita piedra en su zapato desde que heredó el poder, pero planeaba descubrir quién era su enemigo y acabar con él.

Erick miró a su objetivo caminar por el parque y se preparó mentalmente para su primer encuentro.

Charles Xavier caminaba por el parque con total tranquilidad, aunque sentía que lo estaban observando intensamente, pero no estaba preocupado por eso.

Erick salió de su escondite y chocó a Charles con tanta fuerza que lo mando al suelo.

Eres imbécil o estás ciego - Charles vocifero con enojó y se levantó, ignorando la mano que el otro le estaba ofreciendo - No necesito la ayuda de un idiota.

Lo siento, pero no te ví - Erick respondió - Quizás deberías pensar un poco en eso - El castaño quedó sorprendido ante el arrebato del más pequeño y se arrepintió de llamarlo ratón - No tienes que ser tan maleducado y grosero.

Tu me atropellaste y esperas que te responda como una princesita - Charles pensó que quizás estaba exagerando, pero su día iba de mal en peor y el idiota llegó en el momento justo para que el se descargará - La próxima vez mirá por dónde vas y evitarás que te insulten.

La misión sería más difícil de lograr si el Xavier tenía esa disposición tan agria, pero Erick tenía muchas tácticas de seducción en su arsenal y usaría todas las que fueran necesarias para derribar al chico.

Quizás me choque contigo por otras razones - Lo escaneó desde los pies a la cabeza con su mejor mirada lasciva - Es posible que no sepa cómo acercarme a chicos tan atractivos.

Esa tiene que ser la peor línea de mierda que he escuchado en mi vida y he oído muchos ligues malos - Charles no podía creer que el chico sexy fuera tan básico con su forma de ligar, pero dicen por ahí que todo chico lindo carece de cerebro y encantó - Estás muy lejos de ser algo que me parezca sexy.

Auch - El castaño mayor puso su mano en el pecho como si sintiera dolor - Eso me ha dolido.

A Charles se le escapó una pequeña risa y el contrario sonrió con sorna.

Puede que siendo gracioso me agrades más - Ahora fue Charles quién revisó al contrario - En realidad eres muy sexy.

Puedo mostrarte algo más que te dejaría sorprendido - Erick invadió el espacio personal del contrario y llevó su mano al pecho del menor - Podría darte una noche que nunca vas a olvidar.

Quisieras tener tanta suerte - Charles respondió altivo - No creo que dures la noche y yo debo irme.

Charles Xavier se alejó del chico y se aseguró de que este no lo siguiera. Magneto era demasiado ingenuo y predecible, pero esos métodos eran algo vulgar y ruin que el no planeaba copiar, aunque si podría cog3rse al chico solo por diversión.

Tendría que ser muy discreto o su enemigo podría descubrir su identidad y eso no era conveniente para nadie.

Sacó su celular y le marcó a su soldado favorito.

Papiiiiiiiiii - La voz de su "hijito" sonó alegre - ¿Que puedo hacer por ti?.

Tengo una misión muy especial para ti - El sabía que su pequeño corredor no le fallaría - Tendrás que ir con Logan y conseguir algo para mí.

Lo que necesites - Pietro nunca le fallaba y sabía que está vez no sería la excepción - Solo da las instrucciones.

Durante los días siguientes Charles estuvo tentado a dejar que sus amigos se encargarán de su enemigo. Erick Lehnsherr no era discreto y parecía volverse más insistente con el tiempo.

No le contó a sus amigos que se había estado viendo con el chico y compartieron algunos besos y toques, pero nada más allá de eso y se le estaba acabando el tiempo.

Decidió invitar a Magneto a su casa para darle una última oportunidad.

Charles no quería admitirlo, pero se había enamorado del chico y no podía entender porque. Al principio pensó que era solo lujuria, pero el dolor que lo inundó ante lo que tendría que hacer le confirmo sus sospechas.

Erick estaba cansado de jugar con Charles y quería decirle la verdad al chico, aunque es probable que lo saqué a la acera cuando lo sepa, pero no podía seguir engañando al hombre que amaba con todo su corazón.

Erick llegó al departamento y sintió algo diferente en su compañero, pero no pudo adivinar con exactitud que era.

Te he extrañado - Charles lo besó con tanta pasión que Erick estuvo tentado de tenerlo allí mismo, pero sentía que su amor se estaba despidiendo y no quería - Hoy tendremos una noche especial.

Charles besó a Erick y dejó que todos sus sentimientos se transmitieran en caricias, besos y toques sutiles. Erick por su parte dejó que sus manos y su boca transmitieran todo el amor y la devoción que sentía por Charles.

En medio de la pasión Erick ya no pudo contenerlo más y le entregó a Charles su alma.

Te amo - Erick miró a su pareja a los ojos con tanto sentimiento que Charles desvío la mirada - Estaré contigo siempre.

También te amo - Charles admitió con sinceridad - Eres el amor de mi vida.

Ambos fueron uno esa noche en cuerpo y alma.

Lastima que todo se fuera al infierno a la mañana siguiente.

Charles despertó y se vistió antes de que sus hombres entrarán. Despertó a Erick y le indicó al chico que se vistiera.

Pietro y Logan llegarían en cualquier momento para llevarse a Erick y el no volvería a verlo, pero eso era lo mejor.

Erick estaba por decirle la verdad a Charles, pero la intromisión de dos chicos que el reconoció al instante lo detuvo.
