The Licorice Sea & the Licorice Tribe are more…acutely related.

The Licorice people ended up being more magic-summon classes by trade.

Settling in the Dark Cacao’s lands, they were also close (enough) to the Licorice Seas.

Most, magic based as they were, ended up …. having a part of the seas.

Eventually, practically everyone in the Licorice Tribe could manifest a degree of the Licorice-Sea things in them.

They manifested in different ways. Giant claws, extra arms, alive-like hair. Perhaps they enhanced their weapons or wand through the seas.

Take your pick.

Due to the…. well, the literal wall and things against the licorice seas, they’d hide them upon travels and outsiders.

The Licorice tribe were a very quiet one, seeking solitude and being granted that in Dark Cacao’s lands.

No one outside of the nearby Milk Tribe even knew they existed, and the Milk Tribe just thought them as mysterious consistent travelers.

One could describe the tribe as half-cookie and half of the licorice seas.

People like the ferryman, basically skeletons with a magic or pitch-black body - batcat - could faintly remember coming out of the Licorice Seas.

Skeletons and bodies lost or thrown into the seas would be consumed.

Encased in the hive-mind almagamate, they’d be given a body with the frame of the skeletons.

By chance, with more magic or power or will, whatever, they could form…

Just a bit of a consciousness, that bloomed into a full one.

They’d sit-float-stand as an extension of the Licorice Seas, and rarely strayed far from it.

One example of the ferryman. Mentally bounded to seas, they lead cookies, cakes, whoever across the more magic infused, calm, part of the seas.

Batcat, for one, latched onto (Dark Mage) Licorice Cookie, looking for some adventure as well as keeping close to the seas, in a form.

Right right right so in this… au? Uh… in this whatever- so in this thing, Truffle Cookie is a part of the Licorice Tribe.

(Personally, I don’t like that the tribe is just Licorice. Then Licorice would be like, Mage Licorice Cookie. :/ Shorthanding, I guess so. But liek for Espresso they could’ve done just. Coffee Tribe. They’re more of the bitter variety due to being in Dark Cacao’s land. Hell, Affagato’s there. Tangent over.)

Truffle’s spider attributes are that, well, part of the Licorice Seas, but is still part spider, or whatever.

Licorice is either Truffle’s younger brother or son. I’m leaning towards younger brother but Truffle is basically the parental figure in Lico’s life.

…when Lico is away Truffle happens to adopt Pumpkin Pie-

…oh! So if batcat could be one of Lico’s first (successful) summons-

What if Licorice (and the mages of the Licorice Tribe, which is close to all of them) could also summon things from the Licorice Seas, as well as the dead & lico-minions!

…wonder what Licorice’s …sea-part-thing would manifest as.

I’m going for spider just for the fact of Truffle being Lico’s sister, but idk.

Oh yeah licorice is part spider too, I guess.

People in the Licorice Tribe who happen to have more of the seas on/in them can sometimes/maybe tune into the hive mind that the L.Seas are.

Right, so; Lico went to the blueberry academy and had to hide the seas there. By the time he’s with Dark Enchantress, he doesn’t really think to not hide it.

Favourite time of the year: Mid to late autumn because I'm a NE girl and the double-punch of leaves changing and crisp air makes me way too nostalgic. Plus all of my favorite bakery treats are fall-themed ones (apple pie, pumpkin pie, big roast dinners, etc)

Comfort food: Fried eggs on toast. Banana bread. This chicken and rice dish made with red pepper sauce and beans. My mom's potato salad and my dad's grilled steak tips (served together, of course).

Favorite dessert: Apple crisp. Pumpkin pie. Fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie on a tiny plate. Panna cotta with berries.

Things you collect: Magnets from any place I travel to (my fridge is covered in them). Tiny seashells. Books with cool covers. Fabric scraps and notions I tell myself I'll use in a project then never do.

Favorite drink: Iced coffee with milk and honey syrup. I don't drink a lot of things besides coffee and water, but if I'm splurging a coconut water, or maybe a Fresca (which I don't think anyone but me drinks anymore).

Favorite musical artist: My music taste is always changing, but my ride-or-die classics are Bonnie Raitt, most bluegrass artists, or any pop band from the 90s that reminds me of a school dance.

Last song you listened to: The soundtrack to Vox Lux because it's all my husband's been listening to today.

Last movie you watched: Licorice Pizza. It was okay, not my scene so much but it had some nice cinematography and some unique moments.

Last series you watched: The Staircase, which was really interesting. We discovered halfway through that the true story it's based on was also parodied in one of my favorite comedy shows Trial and Error, which was really jarring. But I highly recommend both shows! (I still quote Trial and Error almost daily)

Series you’re currently watching: Narcos because I'm doing "research" (just about to start the S2 finale) and House of the Dragon.

Current obsession: Can writing again be an obsession? Because my god, it feels so good to be doing it after not for so long. Also obsessing over everyone's stories that I desperately want to read but I'm forcing myself to finish follower asks instead. I promise I'm coming my loves, your stories are the carrot at the end of the proverbial stick for me!

Dream place to visit: Morocco. New Zealand. Japan.

A place you’ve been that you want to go back to: France, but the south since I've already spent plenty of time in Paris and the Loire valley.

Something you want: To survive this five day renovation project without pulling my hair out or injuring myself. First time laying laminate floors and fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

Currently working on: So so many follower asks. I got motivated and wrote 5 in a row, but I've still got eight more to go. Luckily I'll start posting next week, so you get to finally see all the awesome ideas people put in! And some fan favorites are coming back ;)

Ok, so here is the next Q&A that I’m posting. This one was filled out a while ago so bear that in mind when reading it. Some of the answers are not very recent or accurate. I tried to go through and update the ones that were wrong, but I might have missed a couple.

Seeking someone to rule the world (and eventually the universe) by my side and cuddle.

My grandmother.

6. What you find attractive in Men/Women?

A sense of humor mainly, good taste in food, and be able to understand me. Also being Alycia Debnam Carey is pretty good as well.

6 foot 3.

8. What you love about yourself?

My imagination.

I don’t even know what I’m doing today.

I have never had a “night out” in my life.

The Darth bane trilogy. But just one book would have to be, journey to the center of the earth by Jules Verne.

A dog named precious, a dog named Lucy, a dog named Licorice, two cats named Freckles and Boots, three gerbils named Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael, four ginea pigs named Oreo, Arrow, brownie, and Cookie (I know, food based names), algae sucker fish named Algae (clever right?), and about 10 gold fish. My current pets are three dogs named Bear, Lady, and Blue.

14. Something that changed your life?

I almost died from a collapsed lung and that is when I realized I wanted to become a writer.

15. Do you remember your last dream? Probably not. But the last dream I do remember is me and my family had just moved to a new house with a ranch on the property and we let our dogs lose on the property while we sat on the porch.

16. What your last text message says?

“Should I add a fox a coyote or a wolf to the story?”

17. Do you respect your government and the way your country is run?

Respect? Yes. Like it? Not really. Wish some things would change? Yes.

18. Where you would like to live?

In the mountains with land, a few trees and a small river on the property. I don’t really have a specific place in mind.

Neapolitan.

Doughnut. (Jealous?)

Crap. I’m a very sheltered person.

22. Your plans for summer?

Staying home and hating people from afar. I social distanced before it was cool. And I will be doing it after the quarantine lifts as well. The only things I will do is go to Taco Bell, Culvers, and McDonald’s maybe Denny’s, probably not though.

23. Any upcoming concerts?

I didn’t go to them before, I definitely won’t go to them now.

24. Something that you’re proud of?

No, not really.

25. Do you still talk to your first crush?

Nope.

26. What language do you want to learn?

All of them. But more realisticly spanish first, then Italian, and maybe German later on. That’s if I ever actually do that, so it most likely won’t happen.

Green, sometimes blue, sometimes blue green.

Comfort. I will always look like I am going to the gym in clothes two sizes to big. Because those clothes are comfortable and I don’t care what people think of me. Or pjs if I’m home.

As long as it takes to pee, brush teeth and walk out my room. So, about three to four minutes.

31. Where did you go today?

The kitchen. The bathroom. And the living room.

In my bed.

Does America count if I live there.... oh I went to Idaho once trust me that place is a different country.

My blanket I sleep with every night that my mom made me when I was born.

The husky dog that I recently got named Blue.

A set of three, snake handled swords of varying lengths that I got after my grandpa died.

No.

Nothing because memory is fleeting and so is life. Everything you have ever or will ever experience ceases to exist at some point in the future. But probably the time I almost died from a collapsed lung.

Writing this.

Spider-Man.

Absolutely not.

Can’t stand it.

Shirtless (because it’s hot) and shorts.

Chocolate most of the time. Just depends on what I am craving.

Being done with my almost done book.

1:00 🕐 Couldn’t sleep because of reasons.

Some random candybot headcanons

Because I think they’re thr only fnaf ocs people care about so might as well get into their lore more right?

-candy golden is the first activated candy bot. But candy Bonnie was the first officially finished animatronic

-candy Freddy smells like cookies.

-candy foxy isn’t a pirate. In fact he’s got a Scottish accent, he wishes he could meet a pirate though.

-candy chica is the only mom in the group.

-remember the Robby racoons humans? Well a few of them now work at the candy bot location, namely Richard, Maggie, Ross, and maybe Damien. They’re happier working here i swear.

-candy Freddy is a well meaning idiot. He can’t read a room well but he always does his best to make kids and adults smile. Free cookies tend to help.

-candy lefty likes his coffee black.

-candy puppet was intended to be taller, but due to budget cuts was made shorter. He was meant to have a built in music box but it was never added, so he has a hand crank music box inside his present box instead,

-candytrap actually isn’t aware who exactly he was based off of, most the candy bots are at least aware of thr classic Freddy’s gang, but not Candytrap.

-the owners are two siblings, an older sister named Hannah, and a younger brother named Baylor. Baylor is thr creatuve drive behind everything and Hannah makes sure they’ve actually got thr budget for her brothers wild ideas.

-candy Bonnie would definitely challenge toy Bonnie to a rap battle.

-candy puppet’s box being too big for him has some advantages, he can keep an entire mini fridge full of ice cream samples inside his box for emergencies.

-candy lefty knows swear words. Thankfully he hasn’t said any in front of kids....yet.

-candy lefty almost threw hands with a problem costumer once.

-candy Freddy may be the face of the band,but candy Bonnie is more of thr leader. She’s the one who helps keep things in line. But he does care about Freddy and his input.

-candy golden can make alcoholic beverages. But you need an ID in order for him to serve you one

-candytrap smells like Carmel chocolates

-candy Bonnie smells like cotton candy

-candy foxy smells like peppermint

-candy golden smells like hot chocolate

-candy puppet smells like ice cream

-candy lefty smells like anger coffee or licorice

-the candy bot location started as a small bakery but later grew into a large bakery/diner/candy store.

-candy freddy, Bonnie, chica, and foxy were all finished first and we’re the original face of the brand. Golden may have been activated but he wasn’t finished. Candtrap, puppet, and lefty all came later.

-there are blueprints for other candy bot models that never got built due to budget cuts and Hannah having to convince her brother to stop at 8 animatronics, but later on they do get enough funding for two more candy bots. Baby and JJ.

-baby and JJ haven’t been built yet but they are made from scavenged parts instead of all original like the first wave.

-most if not all of the candy bots personalities are based off of people in the siblings lives. Namely candy golden is based off their older brother who recently died. Baylor wanted to have soemthing of him to remember and Hannah didn’t want to stop him.

For the fan kid thingy, can I get a velvetgatto? (Affogato x red velvet)

Finally…after an eternity (about 6 months, which Jesus that’s a long time), he is finished. Zuccotto Cookie

So his name. Zuccotto is basically like an ice cream cake, so a combination of Red Velvet’s cake and Affogato’s ice cream. Also, it’s Italian, like affogato. I vaguely recall the name giving me trouble at first, until I realized cake and ice cream was a valid combination and got this

Zuccotto:

So I had his design sketched out like a month ago, and I think I recall telling you all that I couldn’t figure out how to make his design work. I had left the design I made and just went and did something else, and then today I was looking for something to draw and I said “yeah the design looks fine, don’t know why I didn’t like it” and just drew that

But also this means that I don’t remember all the reasons for his design details, most notably the staff

I mean, I know I based it off the staffs some of the Cake Monsters have, specifically the Pomegranate shamans or whatever they were called. I also know originally I was trying to make it a spork, but I couldn’t get it to look good, so I switched to the other staff. But I admit, it looks a bit out of place. I mean, I changed some of the colors at the end to match it, but I think it still looks off. But I’m not going through the effort of making a new one, I remember that staff being a pain

Anyways, so I think I was trying to give Zuccotto a style more befitting a shaman, but also with a more modern twist to emulate Red Velvet. I think I did it well

But one thing that was a real struggle was the colors, because I had no clue what to do for them. In my mind he had a black and red color scheme, and that’s how I had it at first, but I was having difficulty with putting the reds next to each other, and I changed some of the colors at the end to match the staff, and I think it worked out fine in the end

I feel like he looks too similar to Affogato, at least without colors (I felt that when I was drawing the sketch). But maybe I just need to take some time away from him and come back to really know. He probably doesn’t look as similar as I think

Also I’m just realizing that considering he’s not made of a food that contains coffee, he probably shouldn’t have dilated pupils, but like, both Red Velvet and Affogato have some form of them, so shhh

Anyways, so let’s move on to him

So Zuccotto is part of the Cookies of Darkness (assuming they stay for a long time and/or there’s a new group), and he’s some sort of Cake Shaman, summoning Cake Monsters to do his bidding. Though he has a great respect for Cakes and see them as equals. He’s not necessarily a bad guy, but he’s very loyal to the Cookies of Darkness and has no inclination to leave, feeling that normal Cookies have no respect for Cakes

I can imagine him playing cards or chess with the Cake Monsters, or at least the ones with hands

Now one of the other main things I have for him is his relationship with Licorice Cream, a darklico fankid I did some time ago, and whom you can see in the sketch (it’s supposed to be a recreation of that Toy Story meme). Basically my idea is that they’re both part of the CoD and they’re this duo within the group. Zuccotto is the straight man that gets dragged along into Licorice Cream’s antics and tries to stay the voice of reason. I said in my head that they have a dynamic similar to Mule and Sonia from Berserk, but also it’s been a while since I’ve read the chapters with them, and my mind may have branched off from that initial dynamic. But basically it’s “weird girl and normal dude who has no clue what she’s on about”. Actually that’s probably not accurate, I just don’t know how to describe Sonia, so sorry to those who haven’t read Berserk and don’t know what I’m talking about

Zuccotto’s also generally the more mature of the two, despite Licorice Cream being older (Zuccotto’s like a teenager while LC is an adult)

I feel like I should have more, but really those are the only two bits I have on him, I don’t think he’s that complicated. But I might have more to say about him when I redo Licorice Cream, since I have a better idea of what to do with her now, and they are rather close

But yeah, that’s Zuccotto Cookie, hope you like him and that maybe he was worth the wait!

Well with all my talk of flavor swapping last week I managed to actually do one, and it’s not even any of the Ancients

Honestly I don’t know if this is the direction I’m going with any sort of proper swap au. I know I said that I didn’t want to swap Hollyberry with Dark Cacao or Pure Vanilla with Golden Cheese, because I thought they were too similar, but the Hollyberry Kingdom having the Dark Cacao flavors was something that stuck in my head, and last night at dinner I was bored so I started drawing this

It’s also rasprincess I guess, because that’s what my brain went to

I am more tempted to just have that be how things are swapped though, with I suppose Elder Faerie and White Lily swapping too. And I guess the issue of swapping aesthetics could be solved with just having everyone keep their aesthetics, but now being of a different flavor. It does kind of mean they’re just recolors, but oh well

But again, I don’t know if I’m doing this for a full flavor swap au, it’s just something I drew

Back to the characters, so the Raspberry family is now licorice flavored, and Princess is chocolate

Not sure what their new names would be, since Raspberry and Licorice are just named after their base ingredients. So like, swap!Raspberry would theoretically be called Licorice Cookie and swap!Licorice would be called Raspberry Cookie. And Princess’s name I don’t think really needs to change, it’s not tied to her flavor

I suppose if I were to swap the rest of the noble families, I’d swap Blueberry for milk, and Cranberry for coffee. I feel like that fits them. Not really sure what to do for Bumbleberry, other than maybe caramel. And I also don’t know what to do with Jungleberry, Tiger Lily or Wildberry

I also changed their dough colors to better match, since Licorice has grey dough (and he’s the only licorice Cookie we know of so far) and most of the chocolate Cookies we see tend to have darker dough, with the exception of the white chocolate ones

You know I kind of get why changing dough colors when flavor swapping is a slippery slope. Because on one hand, some of those colors come from the ingredient that the Cookie is made from, like the milk Cookies being pale or the dark chocolate Cookies having a darker dough. But on the other hand, it’s usually equated to the character’s skin tone when drawing them as humans, since on most occasions the dough colors are similar to actual human skin tones. So changing a character’s dough color can be a very delicate process (sorry my mind trailed off when I was writing this and I forgot what I was trying to say. You get what I mean though; you can’t really change a character’s dough color, especially when you make it lighter, without there being some issues that come with it)

While I don’t think I have that issue so much here, it is something I might have to contend with if I keep doing flavor swaps. Especially with the proposed idea of Blueberry being milk based in this setting

But anyways, yeah just take this picture of licorice and chocolate flavored rasprincess. Does that make this also somewhat darklico coded, since they have the same flavors, I don’t know

So question, where do ice cream flavored Cookies come from?

Parfaedia’s one option, given it’s got “parfait” in the name, which can be made of ice cream, though they can also be made of yogurt. Plus, as far as I’m aware, we haven’t seen any characters from there that are ice cream flavored. Yes there’s the principal, but she could also just as easily be yogurt. Also, Parfaedia seems to be more an amalgamation of different flavors, mostly things considered treats/desserts, rather than any one thing in particular

Another option could be the Vanilla Kingdom, as we see some of the Wafflebots have ice cream on them, and it wouldn’t be as stretch to consider that waffles and ice cream based Cookies could exist there, especially as how vanilla is considered one of the most common flavors of ice cream, if not the most. But again, we haven’t seen evidence as to such

Then we have the Dark Cacao Kingdom, as it’s very cold and is as of right now the only known cold region in Kingdom (that we’ve explicitly seen. Also Snowfall Village counts in that region), and it would make a lot of sense for ice cream Cookies to live in a cold region, so their ice cream doesn’t melt. Not to mention, it would add on to the trend of the Dark Cacao Kingdom having Cookies with flavors that have magical capabilities (coffee, milk, licorice). And we have seen an ice cream Cookie there, that being Affogato, but from what I understand, he’s not actually native to the region and came from a far off land. Yes perhaps some of his family could have originated there but that could only be the coffee side, we have no confirmation of his ice cream side being from there

And from what I can gather, the only other ice cream Cookie is Wizard Cookie, who seems to have been a creation of the Witch, and thus not native to anywhere on Earthbread

Maybe the origins of where ice cream Cookies come from could be explored in another new area of Earthbread, but as of currently I’m just not sure

I don’t know why I’m fixating on this point but it’s just a question I had that I can’t find an answer for

Some ideas for the fankids you needed flavours for: Crunchy Chip/Kumiho: Marshmallow Fudge, Crunchy Smores or Choco Marshmallow, Hollyberry/Pitaya: Red Flesh Pitaya, Financier/Pistachio: Baklava, Longan/Dark Enchantress: Black Rambutan Dragon, Blue Lily/Bellflower: Canterbury Bell, Starfruit/Mocha Ray: Some sort of starfish? Maybe could be based on a coffee made with fruit?, Licorice/Royal Margarine: Butterscotch or Licorice Toffee, Cinnamon/Shining Glitter: Cinnamon Sprinkle or Saffron

I kind of like Marshmallow Fudge, I’ll put that and the others on my list

I feel like Red Flesh Pitaya might be too long, and also a bit too similar to Pitaya

I like Baklava, I think that could work. Also I looked at my notes and saw Florentine was one I’d put down, but that’s also a place so Baklava might be better

Black Rambutan Dragon or Black Rambutan Cookie sound cool, but if Dragon’s added on it’d be a bit too long

I like Canterbury Bell, on the list

Yeah I don’t really have many ideas for Starfruit/Mocha, other than maybe a brown/orange color scheme

I like both Butterscotch and Licorice Toffee, we’ll just have to see which fits better with whatever color scheme I come up with

I’ll see whether I like Cinnamon Sprinkle or Saffron more, but if I go with Saffron I might add something on before it, since I feel it might be a little short

But yeah overall, some pretty good suggestions, thanks for the help!
