My opinion to "desperate" artists and TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR ART

This is my art journey

6 years later...

If artists want support and followers, they should earn them by their own accomplishments and hard-work.

I hate it when they earn it from guilt-tripping others, being desperate and earn followers out of pity

You can never have a stable and healthy relationship with your followers that way, and you may get worse when you dont gain any interactions with them

Please stop doing this, and start growing your acc on your own. If you feel like your art doesnt appeal to others, start taking advice and study from other artists around you that you like. There are thousands of FREE resources on all platforms: Instagram, Youtube (recommended) , Pinterest (for reference) ,... And alot of separate websites you can find!

Trust me, hard work pays off

Its okay to feel like you dont improve at all, but thats not true, if you study and practice often (no need to do it everyday, it can be 2-4 days a week) you're already better than yourself yesterday

Compare your art to other artists has alot of benefits since you can see what to improve and see the progress. But dont do that too often, it'll turn to be an unhealthy obsession and in this world where there're always people better than you, you'll suffocate yourself forever. Thats a hard hit to reality but it's the truth. In this i recommend:

Find artists that you like and set them as your art goals, they can be artists with totally different artstyles, art is never something stable and its always good to try new things

From your art goals, start "taking" some of your favourite things about the artists and "artistically" add them to your own.

Tracing is another way to study privately for beginners, but i dont recommend doing this for long, it can stagnant your progress if you rely on it too much.

Unless its your style of choice, practice confidence in your streaks and lines, use your whole arm to draw (i know it can be boring at first, but everything you do now will have a rewarding result)

Stepping out of your comfort zone sometimes. You dont have to do this if you consider art as a hobby, but if youre serious or wanting your art to take a new step, i recommend expanding your art to many categories, like drawing backgrounds, hands, poses, anatomy, ect.

Study color theory, this is optional but i heavily recommend, this makes your art UPGRADE NO EXCEPTIONS

Here are some of my very basic tips, you've probably seen them everywhere and hear these thousands of times already, but if you're reading this and feel motivated, consider this the start of your journey! This is gonna be an exciting, might be tiring and frustrating, but memorable

The small archon tippy toed, while 'hatguy' leaned down as she tied the trinket to his feathered ornament. "Tsk- Buer, im far from a child. I dont need anyone to hold my hand like one." Nahida looked up at the puppet, "Really? you never mind ms Y/N holding your hand though." He diverted his gaze and mumbled to himself. "See? I knew you'd like it. Oh right! your gift!"

Hat guy fixed his posture, "Here! Make sure you give this to ms y/n." In her hand was a book of photos she put together for him with little stickers of slimes and aranara with smiley faces, handing it to hatguy as he took his time with each page and noticing the many 'new' pictures, some being ones he didn't give to the lessor lord. "Your a stalker now too? I guess reading minds isnt enough for you." Ignoring his comment buer took out another book. One titled 'Nahida's sumeru travel guide' with a cover drawing of a purple cat barely paying attention to the light green cat. "Do you have to insist on making everything look like a coloring book..." Nahida didnt reply, mearling looking away and humming a tune similar to the aranara while he began his walk to the park.

Whenever you two would hang out together it was in the library within the akedemiya or anywhere he chose. Sometimes as you held his hand walking through the peaceful park your mind would fill the silence in the worst ways possible as he stared at your now frowning expression. "I dont know Kuni, is the akedemiya even worth it anymore? Theirs people smarter than me there anyway." Kuni stopped in his tracks. "But isnt the whole point of the akedemiya just to major in a 'hobby' you like?." he raised an eyebrow. "Well..i guess..but..Theirs obviously people better than me at it." "Id disagree. Besides their Irrelevant. Shouldn't you just do it and have fun. Huh.. I thought thats what hobby's we're. Something for idle bodies to enjoy." You sighed at his response and sat on the bench. "Its not that simple kuni, I have to get a job and- my family what if i have to provide for them too. Ontop of that there really unfair. Why am i putting my heart into this just for it to be a flop." 'A flop?' At your wording he was brought back to his association with the kaedehara clan. Every now and then he'd overhear niwa talking with others over its upending struggles due to the rise of his mothers sword art. Spreading around inazuma like wildfire and Leaving the clan to struggle in its contribution to the arts. But only in a matter of time kuni was able to 'eat' and drink his favorite tea with them in celebration of their success. We're all the struggles just the divine tricks to see who is worthy? was a god playing tricks on you? 'It couldnt be like that..' Kuni put his gift on the bench, and held your hand while sitting with you

"Maybe im overthinking kuni..I-i just dont know.." It pained him to just look at you like this. Tired. Just so tired mentally and physically, tears dreaning down your eyes as you measly sat on the bench. You began to get up, Remembering your responsibilities. "Its fine kuni, you know- maybe I just need some rest! at home!" 'she said that before' He held your hand, uncomfortably tight. His mind always thought to the worst and he never wanted to loose you because of it. Often getting angry at himself for assuming you'd do such a thing..or likewise to what he did. But this time, He just couldnt let go. Was he scared? As much as you implied, you'd never do such things It always rang in the back of his mechanical ears. If only he was still a harbinger, He would've did everything in his power more then he could now to get you the stable income or whatever humans would need in any region or place in teyvat you wanted. Just say the word and he would've done it regardless of her 'excellency' but he couldnt now, all he could do was use this 'curse' which he called emotions to help understand you. "Kuni-...Please let me go....Im alright." you sniffled. He immediately noticed your change in tone. It was soothing just how you always talked to him yet he still felt wary.

With a few more tugs it felt as if his grip only tighter the more you tugged. In defeat, you brokenly sighed and sat back next to the puppet. A part of him was irked at your own confusion. But he never once regretted trying to comfort you through it when, and when you didnt ask. Even awaiting you at your home before you messaged him. It felt as if you sat in the park for hours within cold silence as your throat and chest burned trying making out words but every attempt was cut off by insecurity.

You always knew he loved you, but even your black and white reality began looking different colors. You shuttered while looked at him again, meeting eyes and Surprised that his hat was off. Resting on the bench's crook. "How about..I join the akademiya with you?" you let go of his soft hand, beginning to wipe your eyes until he pulled a green cloth with flowers printed on it out his pants pocket, Damping away your tears as you subtly smiled and sniffled. "I never knew you we're into cute things like this kuni." 'cute?' "Well. You can always rely on this..unique archon of yours to make her presence." you didnt ask any further. "Why do you want to join the akademiya?" "Isnt it obvious? to be with you. and for buer to stop annoying me." he mumbled the last part. "But you dont even have a major or-" "The archives of inazuma can use a rework. I find it ironic how beelz- the raiden shogun is portrayed as some. Beneveloent god, that pursuits eternity." He smirked, Writing a thesis might be one of the most indirect ways he could show up his mother but that had to wait.

You we're more important, and always have been since you entered his life. Kuni noticed his gift. "Oh yeah. Here." he handed you the bag. "Whats in it. More bitter tea for me to try?" he blushed at your answer. "Just open it." you smiled at him again and looked at the pictures in the book. Trying to hold back a laugh at the picture of nahida whacking him uptop his head for god knows what. He looked at the picture, intrigued on why you we're laughing. 'buer you had one fucking job-' then back at you again. "No need to thank me- i-" cutting him off, you kissed kuni on his cheek "I love it kuni." 'his skin is so soft~' you thought. "Then I guess I should thank you too." The puppet shifted closer to you moving the book back in the bag and out of your view behind him. "W-wait kuni- not here we're in a park!" he sucked his teeth and still moved closer to you, sinking his face into your neck as you leaned back "And? thats even better, every person here can know how important you are to me. Got a problem with that?." He began tugging at the buttons on your shirt "Or..Does my baby want to continue this at home? I'll let you choose this time."

You fumbled with the keys as you locked the door behind you. Kuni was already tugging onto you. Biting and leaving petals of kisses along your neck. "K-kuni~ slow down.." you moaned. "Shit..Love it when you say my name too. Then Call me and we'll go for another walk if you want. Im sure that childish archon has plenty ideas too."(He thought back to the bell). Some of his advice was stuff you've already heard. Even though it is easier said then done your heart warmed at his ideals. He even wanted to get in the akedemiya just for you, he was willing to do so much. Even if you felt better for a day or made the smallest progress Kuni would be proud.

gaz is soap but way less possessive. do whatever you want, he's your backbone. i personally think he aids in your thoughts of delusion and encourages things a little too much sometimes. he's the best friend a girl could ask for when it comes to drama and getting all dressed up. is never unenthused at the the things you like and if you think it's cute, of course it is, he's buying it regardless of what you want. i think gaz is the type of man to be like "i wanna spoil you, whatchu want." instead of grabbing random things. the only time he surprises you with random things is when your items need to be refilled and he knows exactly what it is that you need. sits in the salon, stares at you the whole time and makes the nail ladies blush.

do you have any tips on how to live off as artist professionally?

First of all art isn't always a viable option depending where you live. The only reason ive been able to live off art is because the american dollar is worth 5x more than the brazilian real so even if i didn't get many comms i could still get by with the few i had. and if that wasn't the case I'd pretty much be eating breadcrumbs off the floor like a pigeon.

1. Whore yourself out and draw fanart of every popular or trending thing to gather attention to youe art

2. Learn your platforms: learn how each websites algorithm works, learn what are the best hours to post, etc

3. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find your niche

4. Everyone is fake no one wants to be your friend, other popular artists will start following you the moment your following becomes good enough. They'll start to interact with you too and want to become mutuals in order to share followings/traction. If you can play into that you can get them to share your stuff as well, but honestly don't fall for it bc most of them shittalk other artists on their privs or personal servers and the stress isnt worth it

5. Draw nsfw if possible/if you're comfortable with. People who commission porn pay well and they often have very few options when commissioning stuff bc most artists don't accept porn commissions.

6. Accept being an artist is a hard job that doesn't pay really well. If you're freelancing on comms life's always going to be a tightrope, so i suggest trying to do professional work once in a while so you can at least have the security of a salary. Draw backgrounds, gestures, scenes, studies, and the likes, bc those are what companies will want in your portfolio

7. Depending where you live it's extremely hard to live off as an artist, and being an artist is often means a very difficult struggle with finances. It's a job that requires passion, and more often than not turning art in a job causes creative burnout and complete loss of spark for it. Ask yourself: why do you want to be a professional artist? Isn't it better to keep it as a hobby? Maybe a side gig if you need money? You can still pursue art even if you don't do it to earn money, and it doesn't make you any less of an artist. It's a difficult job, and you need to understand its not going to be viable at all times and sometimes you'll have to throw in the towel and do something else to survive and there's 0 shame in that.

8. Be professional and courteous with your clients. Don't be a doormat, but don't go around ghosting people or being passive aggressive or taking them for granted and never deliver any product. Doing art for money is a JOB. Treat it like such. Inform your clients about delays, or any issues that may come up.

9. Take care of yourself and by that i mean eat decent food, exercise your arms, get 8 hours of sleep and get some sun (or take vitamin D periodically if youre a basement dweller). This isn't some self care uwu shit, it's actual science that your body is a machine and not providing what it needs to function leads to issues, and some of those issues include affecting your mental health, and mental health issues include and are not limited to: anxiety, depression, burnout, loneliness, feeling like your art sucks, feeling unmotivated, feeling like you're a failure, etc. Same with physical: for the love of GOD you DON'T want wrist issues. You dont want carpal or ulnar nerve entrapment. Don't draw 24/7. Don't push yourself either. If youre feeling shitty its time to STOP. Just picture a shitty graphics card trying to run minecraft with 5 shaders and 10 mods at once on fullscreen with 60 fps. Thats you. Youre the graphics card

10. Don't be a bitch, don't get involved with drama. Can't be an internet artist if you get cancelled so don't try to start shit at any point in time. Don't be a shit person.

ik im probably rlly late to the party but what is objectum, like is it a role play thing, is it a coping thing? I need someone to explain it to me like im 5 bc i genuinely just don't understand what it is lol

So the literal definition of being objectum is someone who's attracted to inanimate objects, whether that be platonic, romantic, sexual, or somethin else. However, looking at it with only its literal definition doesn't really account for the intricacies that such a label brings.

I just want to point out that while some people see objects as alive (the label for that being POSIC), others dont. Animism is also a similar term for where people percieve inanimate things as having souls. Personally, I dont see my object as alive, but do sometimes use gendered terms to describe them and feel comforted by their presence. People can also be objectum and be attracted to actual people too.

Being objectum is also more common in autistic people. Object personafication is a common trait seen in autism and other disorders and i can see how that can lead people to being objectum. Though I have never been formally diagnosed with anything, i am probably neurodivergent & maybe that has a part in me identifying as objectum idk!! For me, I started using the objectum label coincidentally around the time I started finally figuring out that i was aroace and not attracted to real people. I realized that the love I feel for my friends is equivalent to the love I feel for my hobbies and interests which was also the same love i felt towards certain objects. I drew this out cuz i think its a lil confusing how im saying it LOL. Theres also a thing called "conceptum" which is the attraction to concepts which I think i actually fall more into, but I just go by objectum because it is more general.

You know how people will swear they have this great relationship with nature? How they feel so so connected to plants and how they love watching the ocean and how they wish they could live outside forever because the forest is a part of their flesh and blood? How they feel more alive feeling the earths fresh air and how nature teaches them things they never even knew about themselves? okay, so, why is this normal to say but once u turn it around into something that’s an object it is insane talk!! I feel like there's this interesting dynamic where its okay to be super attached to nature but kinda weird to be super attached to inanimate things but i think i am rambling & getting off topic!!!

Personally, I dont really have objects that im attracted to in the same way I would be attracted to a human. It is very broad for me. Others though, have certain objects that they really like and thats fine. For me, going by that label just makes me comfortable even if i dont fit into the literal definition. I like computers in general, not just my own personal computer. Objectum for me is just another way to say that my love for inanimate things can be just as great as my love for animate things. Theres just so much complexity and nuance in it that it is hard to describe unless you've experienced it yourself.

As for it being a coping thing, I've heard some people say its a result of not being able to trust people due to past trauma, but i dont believe that's necessarily true for the majority of people and not too good to generalize. Ive grown up surronded by friends and in a loving environment and am able to maintain relationships with living people, but also use the label of objectum because it makes me comfortable.

I can very much see how someone can look at someone saying theyre attracted to objects and just cringe a little bit and thats okay LOL. At this point, I have been exposed to so many concepts -being online so much and surrounded by so many diverse people- that i just dont even pay it mind. But, I know a lot of people have literally never heard of this label before and are just weirded out by it. I think honestly people need to think about the limitless potential a relationship can be when in the hands of such a complex being as a human. At the end of the day though, it doesn't hurt anyone but its also okay to be a lil unsure of it as an outsider. Just be kind to others!!

Ooohh this one was interesting bc im not sure if I managed to nailed this lmfao also since you didn't specify if the koyou and reader are in a romantic relationship or not I decided to keep things very grey so that you can read it in whatever way you prefer💞

While Koyou doesn't have any experience in pregnancy herself, she can understand how troubling the period can be. So if you thought was protective before, now it's completely off the rails: she doesn't let you do any work, especially the type of work that consists in moving stuff or dealing with heavy things.

First months of the pregnancy are easy and she lets you do most things if you feel like it, although you can always sense her glare following your presence. Koyou is just making sure you are alright since you have to be careful with pregnancy, but she doesnt wish for you to feel like a burden or anything like that.

She will also keep your hair out of the way when you are vomiting, and gently caress your back in a soothing manner to help you out. Koyou is nice and gentle with you, she will probably make some tea for helping you to feel better

And also whoever doctor dares gets too comfortable for her liking, she has no problem reminding them of their place especially since they are the best doctor in the place, but also deeply connected to the best. Of course, you only get the best of the best💜

But Koyou is so sweet and caring with you it makes everyone jealous: she cooks every meal for you, or asks very well known chefs, gently caressing your belly while murmuring stuff to the baby, making sure the chair is always the most comfortable and with the fluffies cushion, she never rises her voice against you in any possible way, she will even message your feet if it hurts too badly

Likes to spoils you, but that's even before you got pregnant. Koyou buys you clothes that you feel more comfortable in, clothes for the baby, toys, and even starts mumbling about having a nursery room or something like it, while you are probably thinking that you wanted to buy something for the baby too… she wouldn't let you

Takes off some days to take care of you too, and would probably remind you to have a little hobby or something to pass time during the pregnancy period. Koyou would show you many hobbies, would also try some too if you ask her, just to spend some time together

If the doctor allows it, then she is willing to let you go to a vacancy during your last months and even pay for most of it, since you will probably complain if she pays all of it. Not that she minds it, in the end, the vacancy is for you to relax so why worry over how much money you spent? Just let her.

Life may be a bit boring right now, you may find yourself just going through the motions. As I write this, my heart is feeling heavy. Maybe you are being weighed down by your own expectations on yourself, and society's expectations as well. Also for some of you, you may be experiencing blockages in your heart chakra. What can help you to find comfort right now is doing something for yourself, I'm getting less of in the physical sense like a spa day or vacation, but something more spiritual in nature. You may be so caught up in the material world right now, making money, paying bills etc etc but you need to take some time to nurture yourself. Your life is lacking that sense of spark that is present when you arre contented and spiritually and emotionaly fulfilled in life. Some of you may want to change what you do and take another path in your job/career? But what you want to do may be quite different and maybe even frowned upon or considered weird. Advice for these people would be to combine your creativity and what you feel inspired to do with the structure that you may already have in place. A partnership would also be beneficial for you. Overall, what can give you comfort right now is turning inwards, nurturing yourself and your desires. Maybe start a hobby that you've always wanted to do that can allow your playful and childish side to come out. I'm getting something like drawing or painting colourfully, something you can do with your hands or something very active.

Hello there, can I get a romantic matchup for Hazbin, Helluva and Genshin Impact (I hope that's not too many)?

I'm bisexual (with a preference for men but I'm down for whatever) and I use she/her. I'm an ambivert. For those who don't know me very well, I may appear calm, collected and polite, but when I get close with someone, that's when my true personality comes out; I'm very sarcastic and sassy, especially if someone gets on my nerves. When I'm with my friends, I like to joke around, engage in playful banter with them, even often affectionately insult them (if that makes sense). I also love to tease and I don't mind being teased back. Even though I'm a bit goofy, I'm usually the rational, maybe even mom friend of the group; the type of friend who tries to stop the rest from doing dumb shit if I think it's too dumb or dangerous (but if it's pretty harmless, I'll gladly join in on the fun). I also tend to curse like a sailor lol. But my friends say that I'm also thoughtful, open and understanding. I can be very patient and gentle as well if I want too.

As for my style, I usually dress in all black (fun fact: I never wear skirts though, I despise them) and I love silver jewelry. I always have a silver ring on each finger or both hands (without them I feel almost naked) and usually snake or dragon-themed silver earrings.

My main hobbies and interests are: listening to music (I can't live without it), lately I've been listening mostly to any rock or metal type of music or similar (for example I love bands such as Ghost and Nickelback). Besides that, I also love to draw, read, and travel. Sometimes I also like to play or do some sports (I've been a horse rider since I was seven and I love swimming). But I also like to just sit on the couch and watch movies (preferably with friends).

Any advice in making a character

Oh, I`ve got so many, I actually had to restrain myself))

Be self-indulgent! This is the most important thing to do. If any of my further tips conflicts for you personally with this one - this must always win! The main purpose of your character is for you to have fun, to get a voice, to be able to talk about whatever is important to you! Pay no attention whatsoever to people accusing you of making Mary Sue or Bella Swan. It is ok to learn, make mistakes, make characters, that will make you cringe in a few years.

Make as much moodboards as you need! 5 pinterest boards for 1 character is ok, even great! Don't hesitate to make a full moodboard for their home, even if you are planning like 1 short scene in the house.

Moodboards are good not only for pictures! Feel free to add quotes, that remind you of your OC, make playlists for them, go to your favorite clothing online catalog and pick, what would they buy from it! I for example have a thing for scents and I make perfume moodboards for characters (just helps me to feel them better). I use Miro for multimedia moodboards, highly recommend it.

Try starting your character as an 'archetype'. What I like to do is to go to this page and take a test from a perspective of my character The results often help me understand, how would my character react to different people and manage different situations. There are different personality tests, you can use. I believe, this one is the most well known, but I find my first option more helping in writing.

Character 'growth' is not obliged to be something positive. Your character can always become a worse person and it is still a growth.

'Play' with your character constantly! Even if you made them for one short text - ask yourself questions about them every now and them! Would they pick the same type of cheese as you? What was their favorite music genre, when they were 10? And now? What was the most awkward date, they ever had? Dont be shy, use writing promts to come up with little stories about them. This all will give you an indepth understanding of your character.

One of my favorite games to play with my characters is '3 interviews'. I imagine my character taking part in: 1. a talk with a psychologist 2. a cross-examination in court 3. an interview with a journalist. These are 3 situations, that motivate the same person speak on very different topics and relive different emotions. So I like to just examine their behavior. You will be surprised, how many ideas this little game adds to your character.

Don't be shy to ask others to tell you about your character. Request little stories or headcannons about them. The goal here is not to have the same perspective on your OC as your friends do. The goal is to understand, how others see them and which detail (and why) work good or bad for you. There are some authors out there, that take requests and commissions for others OCs.

It is ok to make your characters look like an average person and it is absolutely ok to make them look incredibly beautiful. Don't force yourself to change anything in your OC just because their partner is very good-looking, or because some said to you, that such a beautiful person has no place in this fandom.

Give your OC friends, hobbies, interests outside their job and love-life. Please. You will be surprised, how useful it is to keep this emotional hideout for your character.

Killing your OCs parents is not the only way to make them move out of their parents house. (don't worry, I myself have 2 OCs, whose parents are dead).

Making your OC kill someone is not the end of your OC. Your readers wont start hating them.

The more power your character has - the less freedom they get. Life of a queen is planned to the minute, life of a peasant - endless pool of possibilities))

Watch video essays where therapists talk about different characters in popular culture! There are so many ideas, you can get there for your character. My favorite channel is cinema therapy they have so many wholesome, funny, serious vid on this topic!

By the way, never be afraid to borrow some ideas.

Wanna see a trick? Ok, I'll describe briefly a character to you and you will try to guess, who am I talking about. So our guy, a middle-aged man, lives in a depressing gray world, full of violence and indifference. He loses his job and escapes his constant suffering in fantasies, where he is famous, has his own show on TV, the audience loves him and even his favorite late night show host applauds him. But these are only his fantasies, when in reality nobody care about him except for his senior mom, who genuinely loves her son. Youre thinking something like "Arthur Fleck" or "Joker"? Well, I've just described you Rupert Pupkin, the main character of 1982 American comedy "The king of Comedy", which had a great impact on 2019 film Joker.

My message here: it is not bad to revisit your favorite stories and characters and let them form your OC.

Abandoning one OC and moving on to the next is not a betrayal. Having multiple OCs for one fandom is not an inability to concentrate. Your brain produces many ideas - it is ok to give yourself creative space.

Self insert can be fun and interesting. Just don't forget, that you are not obliged to insert yourself in one and only character - you can always give your thoughts and traits to multiple characters in the story!

Your character needs flaws, not because it is a shame to write somebody perfect. They need flaws, because that will actually help them navigate through their lives.

hi! please don't take this the wrong way, but i decided to manifest my dream life and not do anything for it in the 3d and i thought that was fine since yourself and many other bloggers have said that what we do in the 3d has no impact on our manifestations, but now you're saying that it does and now i'm confused, do i have to do things in the 3d as well as fulfill myself in imagination?

i NEVER said to take action to make your manifestation happen (bc that happens naturally anyways!) I said also don’t stop living your life or put it on hold because you’re “manifesting” because no one should be relying 10000% on that and completely neglecting their 3D. If you didnt know about the law, you would still get your dream life and stuff but you wouldn’t be STOPPING NORMAL THINGS YOU DO (aka going to school, going to work, having a hobby, meeting friends, etc) and locking yourself in a room and playing genshin all day.

thats what i meant in the post! because when we say you don’t need to take CONSCIOUS action, THAT INCLUDES FORCING YOURSELF TO STOP NORMAL LIFE THINGS (because STOPPING something natural is ALSO an action!! its not always “omg i wont text my sp bc its messing w the 3D!”

obviously you dont need to TRY AND MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN but you also shouldn’t STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE!

an example is this:

Taking action in the 3D to MAKE something happen (what most of you already know not to do):

“I want to call my sp to ask if he misses me because ive been manifesting him back!”

STOPPING an action because you’re manifesting something INTENTIONALLY (aka you relate it to your desire and are doing it BECAUSE of it):

“My Sp is texting me rn and asking me to hang out, but im going to ignore him because im manifesting marriage!”

“Im manifesting living in a castle in Switzerland and being a princess so today I will quit my job that pays my bills and sit at home until it happens because i dOnT nEeD tO tAkE ActIon!”

see how they’re both hurting you? by STOPPING AN ACTION YOU ALREADY DO you are basically telling yourself you don’t have it! also, your bridge of incidents would happen in a way thats most natural to you, and how do you know it wouldn’t have happened from a butterfly effect from your ALREADY existing life/routine? Thats usually how it goes!

hello, anon! eevee makes a wonderful first partner, and they're much more common in unova than one would think. if you live somewhere rural though i definitely understand that you wouldn't know much about them since they're most common in cities here!

the first thing to know about owning an eevee is that they can not stay an eevee forever. due to their unstable genetics, an eevee that does not evolve will eventually become sick, though the amount of time this takes depends on the particular eevee. i recommend choosing the eeveelution you want as soon as you can, so eevee can evolve as soon as it's ready! i personally believe leafeon is the easiest to care for, but you'll get a different opinion from everyone.

now that that's out of the way, you'll likely have a good few years with your eevee as an eevee! (i've seen an eevee make it to 12 without suffering any illness from not evolving).

the good news is, eevee are very easy to care for! they're omnivores that can eat most dry and wet pokemon foods without need for any additional nutrition. however, it's important to note that, like many canine and feline pokemon (scientists are still arguing which one eeevee is), eevee can't eat foods like chocolate, grapes or onions.

eevee will probably enjoy the occasional addition of fruits, vegetables, and berries into their diet! be careful with the amount, as too much can give them tummy problems, and especially with fruit and some berries, you dont want to give them too much sugar.

eevee are typically very affectionate pokemon that will greatly enjoy snuggles and playtime. dont get too offended if your eevee seems a little distant: just like humans, some eevee aren't as big on being touched. if this is the case, you'll certainly find eevee has their own ways of showing affection!

eevee are very energetic, and even the laziest among them needs a good bit of playtime. since you're in unova, i can recommend buying toys designed for either lilipup or purrloin; it's a bit of a gamble which one eevee will lean twoards.

lastly, pay attention to their habits and hobbies! its one of the best ways to choose an evolution your friend will be the happiest with. for example, an eevee who loves swimming will probably thrive as a vaporeon, but an eevee that enjoys being up late at night probably wouldnt be very happy as an espeon, ect ect. i also can't recommend glaceon if you live in a warmer climate.

eevees' loveable nature makes them a great first partner and pet pokemon; they're popular for a reason! heres to many years of fun with your new best friend!

Robin was coming to strongly dislike the books her girlfriend was recently spending all their time reading. The lack of attention was getting to her, a bit more than she'd like to admit considering the competition was a book. This at the time "minor" issue started a few months ago with magazines. You were still talking frequently, even sharing pieces and bits of articles to Robin. You would take the stupid quizzes of who would be your boyfriend at the time, because you two were definitely interested in Rob Lowe and Tom Cruise.

This section of time in your reading "obsession," as Robin would like to call it, didn't last long. Once you had discovered your love for reading from these magazines, you started to read novels more and more. She was truly happy for you that you had found a hobby that you liked, but she felt that it was getting excessive. She had gone through at least 30 plans to get your nose out of a book.

First, she tried taking you on a simple date, thinking for sure you wouldn't bring a book. Although, when you two sat down in the field chosen for the date, you pulled what was now Robin's least favorite thing out of your bag. This time it was The Catcher in the Rye, and you offered that you sit by a tree and read it together. Your plan was to have a cute reading date, but that wasn't what she wanted at all. Robin wanted to spend time with you, she wanted to talk to you and be able to look at you.

There were many more plans that she tried to get you to give the books up. Taking you to lunch was one, thinking if there was food there would be no time or room to read. Wrong. She tried taking you to the arcade thinking you'd be busy with the games, soon realizing this wasn't the case and she was still getting nothing. After several attempts, she finally decided that she would just confront you.

Getting a ride from Steve Harrington wasn't easy, even if you were his best friend. Robin knew this all too well. He always either had a date, a girl he needed to see, or he just didn't feel like giving her a ride at the time. With much persuasion and a brief phone call between the two, Robin was getting a ride to your house and Steve was receiving 10 dollars. She didn't really know what to say to you, it was pretty hard to admit that you were aggravated by a book getting more attention than you.

"Hey, Bob. We're here." Robin hated the nickname and wasn't that happy about the fact she was pulled out of her thoughts, but she thanked him and handed him the money on the way out of the car. She patted down any wrinkles that may have been apparent in her jeans, gaining the courage to go up to your door.

When you heard somebody knocking at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday, it wasn't the most surprising thing in the world. Thinking it was one of your friends, you put a bookmark in the novel you had recently started and went downstairs. Opening the door, you were much happier to see Robin on your doorstep.

Before you could pull her inside, she spoke up. "Can we talk?" Immediately thinking the worst about the situation, you nodded and stepped outside expecting the worst. "I'm sorry," Oh no. "I know this is going to sound stupid, but I came here to talk about you always reading. I can't help but feel like whenever we're together you don't really want to spend time with me because you're just reading and I know I'm probably overthinking and definitelytalkingtoomuch-" Realizing what she was saying, you cut her off in a very puzzled tone.

"Wait- Robin. You're jealous... of a book?" You had to ask her this, only now becoming self-aware of your habits. "Yes- Yes, I know it sounds stupid to be jealous of an inanimate object but I just felt like I should tell you how I feel."

"No, Robin I completely understand. Let me apologize I never even realized what I was doing-" The two of you were both becoming a stuttering and nervous mess, and Robin knew how to solve that problem. She held your jaw before pulling you into a soft kiss that said more than the two of you could. When you two pulled apart and looked around to make sure nobody was outside, you spoke first.

"So, no more books when I'm with you?"

Ooooof that Xmas shopping stress be hitting alongside that Black Friday Sale FOMO.

(More like…shit if I don’t buy it now am I going to regret it and have to pay more for it later?)

Which I know is the point and they do that On Purpose but still feels bad, man.

We are doing so much better financially than we ever have been but boy my hang ups are still there. Brain is still yelling at me “you spent HOW MUCH????? ON THINGS YOU DONT NEED?? IN 24 HOURS???”

But at the same time, were all gifts for very beloved people and purchases that DO make sense, whether steep discount (dive computer I couldn’t otherwise afford, will need for scuba and no longer have to rent every time I dive), things we’ll need anyway that we might as well buy on sale (Mike wetsuit, boots, firestick, surge protector, and Xmas lights) or normal thing people buy every day (red sneakers. On many sale. My gait is so damn hard on shoes) or just things that aren’t on sale that make sense- our passports, namely.

God I’ve chosen another expensive hobby that brings me worlds of delight.

Hey…as someone who has been in a similar position I truly believe you have to give it time and sad to say…cease contact for while. I know dude…it seems impossible it seems scary probably gut wrenching, but your health comes first. If you’re worried about time honestly fuck time. Everyone heals in their own way not everyone bounces back immediately. Not everyone handles situations the same and that’s okay.

You don’t even have to go cold turkey on communication. I always say to myself work with the issues instead of against it. Slowly kind of weening off also is a valid option.

I know the fact that it feels like it’s hurting you more than him and yeah that shit stings man. But again you have to take care of yourself. Even if you’re shitting crying and shaking it will become more bearable. Yes you will have these days and again THATS OKAY!! Regressing is part of the process of healing just try your hardest not to dwell and stay active.

It took me almost a year or two to get over that bond I had with my ex, attachment as well. Even though the thought of him moving on still kinda makes me feel a way, but I’ve realized it’s more so I’m afraid of being left behind stuck in the same place while possibly he flourishes in life. There are differences in our situation so I can only speak so much, but a lot of what you’re going through emotionally wise I get it man.

Like rn it’s hard for me to be social and have relationships with people because I’m scared honestly lol. Even platonically. At this point, I’m just taking this time to get to know myself and pay more attention to my hobbies. I’m also trying to force myself to do more things alone and volunteer places like community gardens and pantries. I’m not even there to make connection with people. if I do, cool, but It’s more so exposure therapy for me lol.

You got this man. Always give yourself, patience, grace and kindness. That’s my mantra lately lol.

I know I’m just a stranger but I do care. I don’t ever want anyone to feel this way.

Not talking to him at all has been difficult and I haven't managed to do it except for one day so far. I've been going up and down so much and just cannot accept that it's over. I honestly don't know where to go from here. I never thought we would ever break up so it's fucking hard. I do worry if I dont give him space and stop messaging that I'm going to push him away tho. The only way to stop that from happening is to focus on me which I'm trying so so hard to do, but none of it seems worth it which I've said before. I feel stupid cause I've said all of this before and I can't stop going on a loop at this point.

I appreciate the message and I will try and keep it in mind. I know I'll move on eventually but right now it's not what i want. All I think about is mending it and being with him again but I think its hurting me more than I'd like to admit. No matter how many times people and family tell me I need to accept it I just can't. And I know it takes effort to focus on the good and time and space to make it happen but I just don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. I have no friends to hang out with to take my mind off it, no job to go to every day, and as much as I'd like to get a job I have struggled so hard with my anxiety it just seems impossible. Anyway thank you again I appreciate it♡♡
