On another Rebels rewatch and gods alive Through Imperial Eyes is gripping my heart ;-;

Kallus waking up from an alarm outside. How often do you think that happens? Had the poor man just fallen asleep only to be brutally shaken out of it again?

Also the way he opens his eyes and immediately gets up and checks the situation. Some people are useless in the morning; Alexsandr Kallus is not one of them.

The fact that he’s wearing his full uniform including the gloves (and has his hair perfectly styled) indicates that either he’s so overworked that he just fell asleep like that, or he legit doesn’t own any sleeping clothes and sleeps in uniform so he’s always at the ready in case the Empire needs him. Both options fucking break my heart damn ;-;

His reaction to Ezra calling him “Imperial scum”. The slight flinch. Is he actually hurt by that? Is it because he still views himself as such?

Lyste has been stationed on Lothal for years. Surely he would know what its biggest rebel threats look like? Is the man incompetent or just really bad at recognising faces?

Kallus’s complete astonishment at the idea of Ezra getting captured to warn him, and him not even considering the possibility of Ezra coming to get him out omggg ;-; The Empire clearly doesn’t care about him, so naturally he assumes the Rebellion doesn’t either fuck 😭

Ezra claims not to trust Kallus, but immediately upon being alone together he turns his back on him so Kallus can take off his bindings, before Kallus has shown any intention of doing so. Seems pretty trusting to me ngl

“I’ll be executed for treason!” and Kallus knew that from the moment he first became Fulcrum. He’s been shown to be cool in the face of danger, to be well aware of the risks of what he’s doing and doing it anyway. I think the reason he’s so pissed at Ezra seeking him out isn’t that he fears for his own safety; him keeping his cover is essential for his work as a rebel spy, and he doesn’t want that jeopardised.

“I could say the same to you.” That broke me. Because of his treason, Kallus has no one he can trust. No one. He may have switched sides, but that doesn’t mean the Rebellion trusts him. He’s well and truly alone, and he knows it.

Kanan and Rex being part of the rescue mission as well means that this is a serious operation. They want to extract Kallus, their former nemesis. The moment they realise his life’s in danger they all just jump into action. And fuck you just know Zeb is going insane that he can’t join them. He’s probably the one who talked them into the mission in the first place.

Fuck Kallus is tall 😳

Kallus’s reaction to Yularen 🥹 Little boy just wanting to be acknowledged by what was probably the closest thing he had to a father figure in the Academy, that’s both adorable and sad ;-;

They actually wanna bring Kallus back to Atollon. That shows that, whatever Ezra says, they trust him. You don’t bring a high-ranked enemy officer to the heart of your operations unless you’re convinced he won’t betray you.

“We all make sacrifices.” He says it sarcastically to Ezra complaining about his uniform, but you can hear there’s a deeper level behind it. Kallus is sacrificing everything, his convictions, his position, likely his life, for the Rebellion. And he’s not expecting a thank you, he’s not complaining, so Ezra shouldn’t either.

Kallus reprograms Thrawn’s assassin droids on the fly. That’s fucking impressive damn 👀

Kallus’s conviction when he tells Ezra there’s been a change of plans tells me he never intended to leave with him in the first place. As soon as he’d gotten over the shock over having a rescue mission sent for him, he must have been figuring out this plan to frame Lyste so he could remain undetected, or something close to it.

Ezra is probably just worrying about what the hell he’s gonna tell Zeb when they return without Kallus.

The betrayal in Lyste’s eyes and words as he’s being dragged away and Kallus watching him ;-; Kallus knows he’s likely going to be executed, or at least imprisoned for as long as Thrawn doesn’t know who the real Fulcrum is. Because he knows Thrawn won’t buy it, not for long. You can see it in his eyes when he leaves Thrawn’s office.

Kallus’s reprogramming of Thrawn’s droids is so skilful that Thrawn does not believe it was possible without Ezra's Jedi powers. That’s how good the man is.

Yularen’s disbelief of Kallus’s treason is adorable ;-; He did feel like a bit of a papa to Kallus as well after all 🥺

Also I just wanna point out one parallel: this is the second time Kallus refuses to leave a life-threatening situation to go with the Ghost crew. But this time the rescue party came for him, and this time they show that he’s wanted ;-;

Now this. This is good. Because I had a reason to rewatch this match. (Despite their match in London being way better than their wrestlemania one, it's still good)

I've never fought Pa at wrestlemania" John sighs. "An I have?" Leon asks confused, cocking his eyebrow at the older man. "No but you've fought taker at wrestlemania" "I wouldn't really call that a fight. We were on the same team" "Are you only saying that because you got betrayed or injuried?" John asks. "I was out for nearly a year because kane forgot i was a fifteen year old boy." Leon huffs. "For someone who was born in this company it is quite impressive that you've never lost." John comments. "I mean yeah but one day the fans will get tired of it" Leon shrugs.

"Back to my main problem" John sighs. "Its not a problem. Just know you ain't facing papa in that ring, you are facing hbk. Its wrestlemania, he will put on a show that, win or lose, the fans will only talk about him years to come" Leon tells him. "God we are tag team partners. We shouldn't be doing this" John groans tilting his head back. Leon chuckles. "If it makes you feel better cas has money on you winning. Her, hunter and steph will be sat front row, hard cam side." Luckily, the glares both Leon and taker gave fans got the stars some peace to watch the match in. So they truly could focus on the match.

"Ooo I knew he'd do it" Leon huffs as shawn slaps John. "Mean swing on him that one." Taker shivers. "Yeah but he's going easy on John. That man ain't seeing stars." Leon mutters. "Of course. Favouritism isn't it?" Taker smirks.

They watch the match. (In other words..I do not want to rewrite the match.)

"Papas crazy!" Cassie gasps as shawn does a moonsault to the outside. "You know it" Leon nods as he pops one of the ice cubes from his bag into his mouth. "If that boy can stand after this match I'll be shocked." Taker mutters stealing one of Leon's ice cubes. "If pa can I'd be shocked. For a man with a near career ending back injuries he takes a hell of a lot of hits on if" Leon scoffs hitting his father's arm. "Shawn's got this win in the bag" hunter smirks. Leon smirks. "Of course he has" Leon nods.

They watch in awe as they keep countering each other. "Ill give them this, I am enjoying this match. You know, concussion and all" Leon yawns. "Stay awake, I can't be fucked to wake you up every three hours" Taker orders. "Go on papa! Go on John!" Cassie yells. "Not so loud" Leon whines. "Go on shawn!" Hunter yells causing the younger man to glare at him.

John's nerves left him quickly after the slap and his father was no longer stood across from him. It was just another superstar. He was no longer holding back.

He could hear his siblings cheering for him and shawn.

He could feel the pain.

He could feel the adrenaline.

Hunter sighs and hands the money over, watching in shock as Leon hands it straight to taker. "Of course" hunter groans handing taker money. "Pleasure doing business with ya" taker smirks.

Leon suddenly jolts forward, hundreds of emotions rushing through him at once. "You good kid?" Taker asks. Leon's eyes widen as he looks at John.

John hunches over, emotions suddenly overcoming him as he glances at his laid out papa. He did that. No one else, he did that. All for a stupid belt. He wipes at his eyes as he's handed the belt. Even as he stands and his hand is raised nothing feels good about it. He lowers his hand and moves to his Papa, falling onto his knees next to him.

"Papa?" He asks quietly. Shawns eyes fall open and a lazy smile grows. "Hey bud" John helps him sit up. "Im sorry" John whispers. Shawn looks at him and tilts his head. "What for? That was an amazing match" Shawn smiles. John's eyes widen. "Just another day Johnny. We are still good. Still tag partners and still cooler than leon" Shawn smiles. "I heard that!" Leon yells. This causes John and shawn to laugh as they hug. "At least we ain't concussed" Shawn huffs glancing at the boy. John chuckles. "I don't know yet. Ask me in a few hours" he smiles.

"I reckon we can do better. Knock em off their feet" Shawn comments. "Yeah? You down for another fight?" John asks. "Of course. You? It wasn't bad was it?" Shawn asks. "I'd love to" John smiles.

They pause at the sudden groan. All three turn around to see taker and Leon leaning against each other, starting to eat the ice cubes from takers ice bag, Leon's empty one rested on his head. "I think we need to get them to joe" Shawn suggests. "Yeah, I'll help Taker." John huffs moving towards the man. "Cmon lee" Shawn chuckles taking the boy. "Im fine" Leon slurs. "Looks like we were the only safe ones tonight" John chuckles. "Hes concessed. I just hurt my ribs" Taker points out. "Im not...yeah..yeah I am.." Leon huffs resting his head on shawns shoulder. "You both did great tonight." Taker states. "Yeah real proud. Can.can we go home?" Leon asks.

"Yeah yeah, let's go" John chuckles.

minato shouji coin laundry - oh my beloved. this show has wormed its way into my heart and set up shop there. i might just be a little bit obsessed with shin and his bold, forthright flirting and how he can go from so confident and driven to so hurt and in need of love and attention. and i think the story they’re telling is very interesting, esp with minato and how he shows this post-high school queer experience that we rarely ever see, and how those experiences affect you going into adulthood. plus it’s just cute and soft and the vibes are so welcome, it’s a show i wanna snuggle

the eclipse - what else needs to be said. confident rebel gay meets uptight golden-boy gay panic in a enemies to lovers plot shrouded in supernatural mystery and system oppression. sign me the fuck up. can’t wait to see first and khao act their asses off and have their moment to shine.

vice versa - whenever im watching this show im just having the best time and that’s what i love. jimmy and sea are just the most adorable pair to watch and the series has such lovely styling and cinematography and a vibe that’s so considered and adds to the atmosphere and story so much that i can’t not be in love with it. and im so ready to dive deeper into what this story is gonna give us

war of Y - this is kind of messy but it’s too early for me to tell if it’s in a good or bad way yknow?? i didn’t watch scoy nor do i know much about it but the mains seem to have good chemistry, but also we’ve kind of just been thrown in to this world where stuff is happening and it’s kind of hard to understand what everyone’s deal is, esp when you can’t read any of the texts and such

10. The Gentleman Pirate

Second hand embarrassment is STRONG, and this one isn't in a funny way. Plus it just doesn't have as many strong moments like in the rest of the show (not counting The First Meeting of course), and meh simple jokes

9. A Damned Man

The most interesting part of it was Stede's confrontation with Izzy, the indigenous tribe, and Nigel Ghost, but that's about it. Mostly just a show still finding its footing, but not as bad, just can't hold up to the rest.

8. We Gull Way Back

The Chain Sequence, mwah! But I think they could've done more with Jack instead of killing him off, just kinda a filler episode to confirm Ed's sexuality get the British to come after them

7. Discomfort In A Married State

Man, did I love the writing of the lighthouse being the solution, so clever! And what a fantastic introduction to Ed and his blossoming relationship with Stede. Only thing was the flashbacks took a lot of time and got me bored at times

6. Wherever You Go, There You Are

The character development and downfall of Stede and Ed is also a genius moment in writing, and His Name Is Ed is probably my second favorite moment in the show besides The Kiss. It just hurts me to watch Ed's kraken era and the cliffhanger

5. Pilot

A very strong start to the show. Loved the whole thing with Stede being a kindergarten teacher pirate captain, the dinner scene with the navy and the killing of Nigel, and had some great jokes. But considering the rest of the episodes and the fact the pilot wasn't enough to get me to watch the show the first time, it's at the half point

4. This is Happening

Both storylines were so good! The treasure hunt to make Ed wanna stay, Jim seeing their Nana and opening up about their past (not to mention the almost kiss!!), and let's not forget Lucius being all of us with "oh my god this is happening"

3. The Best Revenge is Dressing Well

This one with the party was our best chance to see Ed and Stede and their differences in society (and was second hand embarrassment that wasn't so painful), helping us see the characters better. So many great moments, like Jeff The Accountant recounting tales, Stede playing Stark Revelations, Have You Ever Been Sketched and of course, You Wear Fine Things Well.

2. The Art of Fuckery

FUCK THE BATHTUB SCENE IS THE SECOND MOST SADDEST MOMENT RIGHT NEXT TO ED CRYING IN STEDES CABIN!!! But man, such a silly concept of a haunted ship, the respectful nature of Ed's backstory and trauma, and the final battle with Stede and Izzy (God I wanted him gone). But yeah, bathtub scene is one of my favorite scenes. Only reason this is number 3 is...

1. Act of Grace

Ed saying he killed Nigel. Stede saying he did it to save Ed. Ed shouting Act of Grace to save Stede. The Kiss. Does your ship do this? Plus, Stede in the woods with Chauncey is Rhys' best performance as Stede. Hands down favorite episode cause the acting was phenomenal on all sides... may be biased cause this was when they kissed, but I think I and every queer persin who ever wanted to be seen in media are allowed to be biased

oh god KJENFKJGNER i gotta say the dumb stunt he pulled with the button for the MQ office doors made my eyes roll SO fuckin hard cuz I KNEW what he was gonna do when he pulled the button up cuz of that one written interview from a while back where he mentioned the buttons... for me its just. there's something so off-putting abt it cuz it reminds me of being a kid where you have just acquired new info n it TOTALLY changes how u see and understand the world n u just wanna keep talking abt it (to be fair litrlly everyone does this no matter how old u are).. but seeing a grown man acting like that with sexism is what makes it kinda off-putting LOL? like maybe I'm just harsh but w things like the button stunt its almost.. novel to him. or when they makes jokes like "AND WOMEN TOO!" like u can tell its just become an in-joke for them, but idk if they are aware of how cringey it is in the context where they're just a bunch of bros making that joke it does not have the same effect lol. personally, I find this kind of shit HILARIOUS cuz its just cringe comedy, n like... i would not have been able to watch sunny this long if I didn't learn to revel in that kind of humor. it has to come from a very sincere place to be funny tho n I guess i'd rather have someone learn like Better Late Than Never like I'm glad he's more aware of this shit but the way he shows it off like its show n tell is just KJENGKJTNGKJTN so fucking funny
