"FL9 on the Santa Train"
NS 3010, the usual power for the Morristown and Erie's Toys for Tots train had suffered mechanical issues on its way back from the NYS&W Toys for Tots train which rendered it unusable for the following days train. This yielded two unique photographic opportunities, the first of which was the M&E Toys for Tots train operating with an M&E unit (as opposed to 3010) and the second was the chance to see the Maine Eastern FL9 leading the Whippany Santa trains. The FL9 did not power the train, it simply served as a cab car for the crew on the West end, but offered a very rare opportunity to see the engine leading a train in New Jersey before being sent back to Maine after the M&E repaired the locomotive. Here we see the train making its way back to Whippany as they cross the Algonquin Parkway.

The Summons
??? Pov
As his vision returned all around him was ruble and fire. Helicopters from the police and news were around him.
His ears ringed, as muffled shouts tried to get his attention. He doesn't remember how he got here.
Suddenly, without warning he opened his mouth, a song was heard by everyone around him.
Then something appeared, it's body made of stars, pure white hair, and two horns made of ice, yet looked like they were crystals. Two emerald green eyes stared down at him.
"Jason," the being said, it's voice sounded both human yet something more
He felt safe

facebook keeps recommending this page called the "Maine Wolf Coalition" to me and like...it is WILLFUL ignorance that keeps these people calling some of the animals they capture on trail cameras as "possible wolves" or "suspected wolves" or "unknown canines".
like 99% of the animals they post are eastern coyotes to a tee.

Whenever any of the characters recognize Dracula they repeat the same litany describing his physical characteristics which happens a good few times, and he’s described as having an aquiline nose and I know his appearance is supposed to be scary bc it’s rooted in bigoted Victorian fear of the other but unfortunately for Mr. Stoker the self-love got to me first so now every time one of the characters is like “I knew him immediately… the sharp eyes… the blood-red lips… the aquiline nose” I’m like ✨😍💖🥹🤩💁just like me😍💕💖😘✨👍🥰

me: I want to write a story that has a disgraced royal as the main whumpee. I want him to be morally gray, if not evil, and I want all his subjects to hate him. The setting will be a well-planned, low magic fantasy world, and the whump will be in the form of poetic-justice based punishments carefully chosen by each of the major cities he ruled over
me, writing Cerus instead: look at my cringefail evil overlord

It's a popular take to say ninjago's dragons are based on western counterparts as "violent and brutish beasts." I personally disagree.
Dragons in ninjago are presented first as guardians against evil, and their presence as antagonists lasts maybe 5 minutes, while western dragons are hoarders, greedy and usually associated with the Christian Satan. With exception, they're typically depicted as evil. This is pretty clearly untrue of the versions in Ninjago, which don't play into that trope.
Personally, the dragons in ninjago strike me as a hybrid between eastern and western, with designs taking a bit more from west (though not totally. Hunted had multiple long, serpentine dragons, a trend that more or less continued.) Their heads, for example, look for more "eastern" than "western," especially the original four with the exception of Coles.
