I still haven't repaid my parents for raising me. If I have to live with the regret of not giving back to my parents, I'd rather be eaten by zombies!

There's also like. an even more traditional variant of the zombie apocalypse AU where they never knew each other before the start and all of the paladins + Allura and Coran are just survivors trying to make their way in the world.

Veronica was on a trip with Lance when things went south, helping him check out colleges. Their only goal is to try and find the rest of their family, since they lost communication with them within the first few days. They hope they're fine, but...

Hunk was on a school trip. It was the first time he'd ever gone on a trip by himself, so he was nervous about it. His mom promised him everything would be fine, and he had nothing to worry about. He knew she was right. It was probably just the anxiety talking... until it wasn't. He joins together with Lance and Veronica early on, since they all have the same goal. Find their family.

Sam Holt still works in aeronautics. The Holt family has been holed up at the base he works out of since the early days of the apocalypse. It's considered to be a stronghold, but no one knows how long it will last. They're working on some way to stop the zombies, but it's not like you can cure the (un)dead.

Allura was home for the a long weekend, away from her private boarding school. Her father was rich, and had a lot of land, so when things started to go bad, he opened his doors to survivors. It went well- until it didn't. Her father's friend Zarkon secretly hid the fact that his wife had been bitten, and things very quickly escalated from there. Allura escaped with her life alongside her family butler Coran, but her father was not so lucky.

Keith and Shiro are brothers. Not by blood, but family regardless. They're eccentrics, people who choose to live in the ruins of society, instead of trying to find a safe haven. They guide those lost to them, but they always strike everyone as... odd. Shiro clearly had a too close encounter if his amputated arm is anything to go off of. And Keith is... unnerving.

Keith was bitten in the early days of the apocalypse, but Shiro couldn't bring himself to kill his brother. He would wait until he succumbed to the infection... except. Keith never did. He's definitely not among the living anymore, and he has a hankering for raw meat that he definitely did not have before. But he has his mind. And that's all that matters to Shiro.

He'll stick with his brother until the end.

My Writing Hot Take (Apparently)

I’ve gotten some hate for saying this before, but screw it, I’m arguing my case again; you can’t criticise a piece of media for its premise

An example I’ve always used for this is that you wouldn’t say something like “This zombie apocalypse movie has too many zombies” because, if there were no zombies, then the zombie apocalypse movie wouldn’t have zombies or an apocalypse; the movie wouldn’t even be in the same genre anymore, the whole plot would be entirely different, it would be unrecognisable as the story the creator wanted to tell

The reason I stated this originally was because I saw a lot of people saying that the show Miraculous Ladybug sucked because it always relied on a Deus ex Machina through Ladybug’s Lucky Charm power to save the day. And if you’ve seen my main account, you know that I’m more than happy to criticise Miraculous, but I also believe in giving credit where credit’s due, and this wasn’t an area where Miraculous got it wrong

My argument was that, because the entire point of the Lucky Charm power is to create a solution to every problem, and the magical power of creation is a key component to the lore and premise of the show with creation and destruction being in balance to maintain the order of the universe, you can’t really criticise the power of Deus ex Machina for being a Deus ex Machina. In fact, if you count the magical earrings as a machine, Ladybug’s Lucky Charm power quite literally is a god from the machine (Tikki from inside the earrings) giving Ladybug the power to fight - the god in question is a main character actively assisting in the battle!

According to the comments I got the last time I argued this take, no form of writing should be immune to criticism and even concepts can be subject to ridicule. But at that point, if you don’t like Deus ex Machinas, why are you watching a show where the main character’s superpower is a Deus ex Machina, only to complain that she uses Deus ex Machinas? If you don’t like zombie apocalypse movies, why are you watching a zombie apocalypse movie, only to complain that there are too many zombies?

You’re allowed to criticise the execution of the premise, of course, but if you don’t like the premise itself, maybe it’s time to consider consuming different media rather than hating on someone because you have different preferences

I think part of me expected this burnout would last a long time, but it’s drawing close to a year now. I have a strong reason to suspect medications are prolonging it. Granted: I have no intention of stopping medication, but I suspect I may need to make some changes. It’s been nice not to feel burning rage/crippling despair/panic most of the time, but I also miss being able to actually... act on things! Start things! Feel some semblance of motivation, as fleeting as it is. Mostly my reaction to prompts of any kind are “nah, don’t wanna” or “so what?” which isn’t terribly conducive to anything more than day to day life. (Y’all, I can’t even reliably plan my vacation and that’s pretty terrible.)

I’m saying this in part as a sort of explanation as to why I’ve been so slow to respond to anything, or post any art, or even re-open commissions this past year. I just... generally can’t make myself do anything that isn’t a part of my daily maintenance routine. Knowing that making art (even personal art) takes 3x times as long to complete is a standout reason I’ve been refusing to reopen commissions especially, since I’d be unwilling to make clients wait more than a few months for even something as simple as a sketch. People were patient enough with “Old Me,” I don’t think most would hold out for “New Me.”

Thankfully I’m speaking to my doctor tomorrow regarding my experiences on the current medication, and maybe I can find something that works a little better. I feel like I’ve been pretty fortunate so far, all things considered, and my side effects have been fairly mild. (Though I have suspicions it’s also thinning out my hair something fierce... probably time for supplements for that issue!)

Hopefully I’ll figure it out sooner rather than later? Either way, I’m learning to accept things as they are these days.

!Zombie apocalypse au!

Today I was free (I even did pancakes today♡) so I was focused on drawing designs for my au, and remember how I said that I didn't really liked how Eli looked? Well i figure out what I didn't like and made the best of it! At the moment he is bitten, a virus after which a person becomes a zombie in a passive form for the first two months, and I’ll tell you right away Eli will not die, in this AU there is a person who already has a vaccine against the virus at the initial stage, but who it is is still a secret~

the design for Lucky Guy actually came to me quickly (like a typical main character in a movie lol). he walks around with a backpack containing supplies and useful things, and he has a crowbar as a weapon. he actually knows the person with the vaccine and is on good terms with him. August is a loner and does not join any groups, preferring to survive alone... well, almost

Now probably not many people will understand what kind of character this is, but when he was in training with Lucky and, alas, he was not able to escape. in this au he is Marcus and is the older brother of August. he is already infected and is a zombie, but at the moment he has not bitten or attacked anyone. He is the reason why Lucky did not give up and continues to search for a cure that will completely cure Marcus. They wander together through the empty streets of the city and abandoned buildings. Marcus either walks behind Lucky or August carries him on a shopping cart lol

This is all the information that I can reveal for now, but if you are interested in details, you can ask questions and I will reveal some details ~ over time I will post more characters and their mini-story and possible motives (I’ll say right away, I definitely won’t make all the characters from Eden because I’m lazy), I can also just make pictures with history or mini-comics of some events.

This is my first time doing something so serious and I will be glad for any response♡

and yes, it went horribly <3! tome prolly wasn't paying attention as closely as she should've been and got herself surrounded by a crowd. to be clear, that's not Always dangerous, since zombies arent like,, after ur brains in this constantly. but these zombies did look quite hungry, and human or not, she looked like a good meal,,

she had wandered off a bit from mob n ritsu, but mob heard the commotion first. tome has a big fucking baseball bat in this au that she likes to swing around, but a baseball bat can only get u so far in terms of self defense. she thins the horde but there's simply too many of them

mob lets exactly One zombie grab her and yank her toward them before he goes ballistic

watching zombies fight is a lot closer to watching wild animals fight than anything else, and it gets quite horrid sometimes. since their bites aren't rly "dangerous" to each other beyond the typical Oh No a Chunk of Flesh is Gone (not even painful for them, since their nerves r.. less than functional), the fight is a lot more close up and gruesome than a fight against a zombie and a human would be. humans usually back away from zombies immediately and try not to touch them at all in fear of getting bitten; zombies don't need to care abt that

most of the horde realizes that this meal isn't going to be easy and they wander off, but a few more hungry, more desperate ones try to rip into mob's throat at the first sign of defiance. it's not exactly a fair fight; it's like 1 against 4, so he's sorta bound to lose

thankfully ritsu shows up and shoots two of them down (he's Terrified of shooting mob by accident, but either way he'll probably die, so) and tome gets the last one with a good swing to the head. ritsu rushes to mob and is horrified by the amount of blood dripping from his neck and his arm; tome is equally as shocked, but she's mostly thinking, "ive Never seen a zombie defend a human before"

mob's neck is thankfully mostly just scraped up and clawed, but there Is some gruesome punctures where canines sank in and tugged. it's a lot worse along his arm that's bitten and gouged beyond belief. he loses a lot of blood here, but the whole nerves-no-longer-work thing is a blessing in disguise atm; he'd be in a lot of pain otherwise. while ritsu and tome are patching him up w shaky hands he simply glares beyond their shoulders like he thinks he's still in danger, even when they tighten the bandages. it's like he barely notices what they’re doing

his strangely alert behavior makes them think abt the possibility that maybe mob Knows he could've easily been shredded apart there, and he's a little scared and worked up abt it. the only reason he managed to fight as long as he did without dying is prolly bc the other zombies weren't as well-fed as mob—they were kinda weak and shaky from days of no food, but mob has humans taking care of him and keeping him fed 24/7

they're all shaken up by it pretty good.. tome is still reeling from the fact that mob defended her so valiantly, and ritsu is quietly horrified by the idea of another zombie killing mob instead of a human. he doesn't know which is worse

#qktalks #anon #zombie au #this isn't the first time ritsu has had to kill a zombie btw ^ #this is just the first time he's had to kill one since he started seeing zombies in a different light #it was either letting his brother die or killing a zombie. ritsu's upset that he had to make that decision at all #but he's not afraid to say that the decision was incredibly easy to make #it sucks that he had to kill one but . for mob ? literally anything goes #ritsu checked tome over after they took care of mob too. tome's very surprised when he's rly gentle abt it #ritsu's been known to .. lose his head a little in moments of stress #and sometimes he snaps at tome bc of it. he never means to he's just..worked up #but this time he's kinda fretting over her and it opens her eyes a little bit #ritsu has indeed grown to care abt tome a lot. they bicker Most of the time but it's usually not very serious #in all the excitement tome just hadn't rly realized that until now. ritsu is so high-strung that it's hard to get a read on his softer side #but now he's not just directing his softer side to his brother‚ but to tome as well #i have 15 more tags to explain smth i wanna make clear btw let's hope i don't start rambling abt smth else entirely #so i've been using a lot of vocabulary in these au posts that hint toward mob being ''special'' or ''abnormal'' in his behavior #he is not special or abnormal in any way #Every zombie is like that. every zombie has a personality‚ and a gentler demeanor hidden behind that desperate starvation #and remnants of their past selves in there somewhere #mob is simply one of the only zombies that have been taken in and cared for and treated like a sick person rather than a monster #as i've said before most people just.. either run away or shoot them between the eyes when crossing paths with a zombie #they don't give any of them a Chance. mob is a very very lucky zombie. #he is healthier than most other zombies and he is treated far better #and the way ritsu constantly talks to him is actually great for his health ! gets those rusty gears in his head rollin #exercises that brain‚ even if‚ to ritsu‚ he's only responding in odd gibberish #that's only one of the things ritsu gives him that other zombies never receive in their lifetimes #i'd say mob prolly ? has one of the longest ''zombie lifespans'' #most zombies either die of starvation‚ dehydration‚ or sleep deprivation within a few weeks #he's lived a long zombie life !

Hi cuties♡♡♡ tbh, I really wasn't sure should I upload this cause I feel really unsure about the final, but I guess i just liked drawing it even if result isn't what I wanted

Also a little plot for it: after a hard day they find a safe place for a night. Too bad they had an agreement today that clearly ruined the mood. Perhaps they'll find a way to discuss it and understand each other better
