12th November 1944, was the day Isabella and Raven Darkholme found their forever home. They were in new york, Raven disguised as an adult man and Isabella invisible holding onto her sister's hand. They had come upon a huge-looking home. Raven thought it would be a good idea to break in and eat their food. She saw a picture on the wall and chose a person to use as a cover. She chose a gorgeous-looking woman, who she assumed was the owner of the home and maybe the mother of the child living there. Isabella was making a hot chocolate for them both when she heard a boy talk. He ended up being a mutant just as they were. He let them stay there and years later became their brother.

Charles helped Bella maintain her mutation. She liked to think her mutation made her special, and that there was no one like her. Her mutation consists of invisibility, force field projection, healing and she can not just render herself invisible but others as well. She loves the fact that her eyes light up a mix of gold and white when she uses them - apart from when she's invisible of course - it sets her apart from others.

Now in 1962, they had come a long way from the little girl who could only turn herself invisible when she was scared, She could do a lot more.

August 2nd - Havok

Alex Summers and his older brother, Scott, were both apparently orphaned when their family’s private plane was attacked by a Shi’ar spacecraft. Scott and Alex used a single parachute to jump from the crashing plane. The two brothers were thereafter placed in foster care and raised separately.

Unlike his brother, Alex grew up largely unaware of his being a Mutant possessing the X-gene. His Mutant powers laid dormant yet were detected by a fellow Mutant named Ahmet Abdol. Abdol was able to discern that both he and Alex possessed abilities related to the absorption of cosmic radiation. Believing that he could use Alex to augment his own powers, Abdol abducted the young man and brought him to a special laboratory in Egypt.

Abdol was able to unlock Alex’s powers and used them as a generator, transforming Abdol into The Living Monolith, a gigantic being with vast cosmic powers. The X-Men had been tracking Abdol’s activities and interceded. Alex was rescued and ultimately joined the X-Men under the alias of ‘Havok.’

Initially, Alex had difficulties controlling his powers and was outfitted with a specialized suit that contained his solar energies and enabled him to fire them with greater precision. Over time, Alex has become more apt at controlling his abilities and no longer requires the special suit.

Havok would go on to have numerous adventures alongside the X-Men and later created a new iteration of the team X-Factor. Further mishaps saw him transported to a different universe, returning and later leading the Uncanny Avengers ‘unity squad.’ More recently, Alex has relocated to Krakoa and has reunited with his brother as a member of the flagship X-Men team.

Throughout his various journeys, Alex’s love life has been just as chaotic and difficult-to-control as his Mutant powers. This has included a tumultuous on-again/off-again relationship with his teammate Polaris, a courtship with a young nurse named Anne, a romance with the Wasp of The Avengers and a torrid affair with his brother’s one-time wife, Madelyne Pryor.

A version of Havok features in the Fox Film’s X-Men movies portrayed by actor Lucas Till. The hero first appeared int he pages of X-men Vol. 1 #54 (1969).
