Hi there! I hope it's not so annoying to bother your inbox for this, but I wanted to say thanks for the nice comment on my most recent post you reblogged earlier ^^ I haven't been feeling happy with my art here lately, so reading that makes me want to go back into drawing and think positive again <3
Thank you so much for that! 😊 I hope you'll have a good day!! ✨️
Also, your Sebastian art is adorable!! ^^
I was considering letting this sit in my inbox and never touching it because it's really nice to look at when I'm bogged down by life and writer's block, but I changed my mind. You deserve a response at least, so:
You are not annoying or bothersome, your art is very cute, and I have gone back to admire it frequently. But I understand the insecurity. I get that way with most of the things I create, and it's always nice to see someone else showing appreciation for something we artists might not be terribly proud of ourselves. I hope you draw again, and have fun doing it. I'll look forward to seeing anything you make—even if it isn't SDV.
Also, I'm genuinely honored that you like the art I did of Seb,,, out of all of the bachelors I've drawn so far, I feel the least confident in him, but knowing that just one person thinks he's cute is a huge confidence boost. Have a wonderful day, night, week, month—all of the above? Yeah, all of the above. You're kind and you deserve good things. Thank you! (っ◔◡◔)っ❤

LBH probably follows SQQ around whenever he goes crime-fighting. Even if SQQ told him to stay home, he’s still going to do it. So, imagine Batman running into Catwoman and stopping her from doing some crime. And she flirts with him as per her habit. Something like, “have you ever thought about bringing a feminine touch into your life 😉😉?” Cue Binghe popping up, “HE DOESN’T NEED A FEMININE TOUCH 😡😡! HE ALREADY HAS ME!!” Cat woman: Batman, who’s this? SQQ, trying not to facepalm: my husband.
Asdfghjkl absolutely!! I hadn't thought of that that's so funny. Batman would know lbh would be there anyway but as long as he can spin it properly, something something reputation, his husband should refrain from getting involved. Fingers crossed.
Anyone he brings on patrol has to just. Ignore the chimney radiating malice whenever they get in a fight. Damien handles it the worst lmao.
Of course catwoman, being catwoman, has not stopped flirting with b since they met. He's completely oblivious, but all the Robins (bar Damien, it's so obvious he's his father's son) get so embarrassed and honestly it's a game to see how blatant or crude she can get before either he realises or Robin successfully drags him away (or they arrest her). None of them really take it seriously anymore.
Until lbh arrives.
There's the normal chase scene across rooftops, ignoring taunts and teases, and then Spoiler cuts her off and there's a brief tussle. She starts her routine (my, you're looking awfully tense today. Cat got your tounge?) and generally making everyone on comms roll their eyes until there's a dark growl echoing from the overhang. Batman freezes and closes his eyes in resignation as a shadow drops down. Catwoman, as all women who don't know his reputation, immediately goes 'wow, that is a Very Hot Dude' and yes he's emanating aggression but unexpected flirting catches pretty much everyone off guard or at least softens the blows - and Batman isn't doing anything about him so he should be fine.
She tries to flirt with him too.
Unfortunately for the people on comms, this actually gets batman's attention. For the first time in the decade+ they've known him, he is noticing flirtation. And he is not happy.
Selina: *practically purring* ohhhh, who is this bad boy?
Lbh, This Close to pulling sqq off of her and tossing her off the roof: 😡 leave my husband. Alone.
Selina, who, having not successfully flirted with and lowered the guard of batman, doesn't actually know who he is:...... YOU'RE MARRIED??!! TO THIS HUNK?!!
Lbh, puffing up: I am - *batman releases her and launches across the roof to cover his mouth* ???
Sqq, abruptly realising that he doesn't have a secret identity for lbh despite the fact that they're having two marriages for their civilian and super sides, blanking: :) um. His name is. Um.
Lbh: I'm shizuns HUSBAND >:3
Selina, not bothering to get up (Robin pinned her down again), sensing a far better distraction/entertainment: oh? There's a lot of people who've claimed to have batman's heart over the years. Why should I believe you?.... Don't tell me you're just faking? Why, the batman I know would never take a lover.
Lbh: shizun? 🥺 Would you let this husband prove himself?
Sqq: no. I'm on the job.
Lbh, demon lord, married for literal centuries, fully down for any excuse to kiss his gorgeous husband: but!!! Shizun 🥺🥺🥺 don't you love me?
Sqq, reincarnated immortal, fully aware he is being played, also refusing to admit how much he missed him: hmph. Just a quick one.
Selina, in shock that that actually worked, watching BATMAN kissing an even taller man in a way that is most certainly not quick or chaste: oh my cats what.
Robin, age 12, having to watch his father and step dad French in full uniform IN FRONT OF THE CRIMINAL THEY WERE APPREHENDING: >:O!
(Everyone is still on comms. They are hearing it all.)

i know next to nothing about bg3 and do not care enough to learn but wyll is my favorite simply because he's my best friends favorite, and also that he's also a warlock apparently which subverted my expectations? and he gets horns. he's just really cool in general i think. he should be the highlight of bg3 and not that vampire stick figure
for reallll his concept is easily one of the best out of the origin characters. his character, in a meta sense, was a victim of last-minute, not-well-thought-out writing choices, a lackluster story that didn't even center him, and a huge relative lack of content and compared to characters like astarion and shadowheart.
while he does unfortunately has the least amount of in-game companion content compared to the other 5 origin characters, he immediately stood out to me. my friend who bought me the game as a gift back in early access was dming a string of campaigns for us that ended with descent into avernus. so, right when i'd gotten out of a dnd campaign where my character had saved ulder ravengard, his estranged son who'd made a warlock pact a la thavius-kreeg-with-far-less-bloodshed-and-consequences-for-anyone-but-himself-until-now comes along. ok, i can vibe.
i will save you from me complaining about how he was done dirty to say that he's the character highlight of bg3 to me <3 he's so cute and his idle chats with other companions are so cute. if you let the wacky dnd wizard (whom they made into a bard for some reason?) replace your eye, he welcomes you to the one-eye club. if you play as him and spare karlach, you can ask her for horn care tips to lighten the mood while she's feeling guilty. one of my friends who knows nothing about bg3 told me "my friend just got the game you like" and when i assumed it was town of salem, they clarified for me. and i'm glad that people like people like both of you simply know baldur's gate 3 as "NO NO," the game "WITH THE HOT BLACK GUY AND THE RED WOMAN THAT DANCES" <3

Bestie I’m only about half way done but like IMMA NEED YOU TO ELABÓRATE ON THIS ASAP
On another note I may or may not be reading this full on biting my shirt okay that’s all bye *zooms away*
AHEM.
*puts on Glasses of Lust*
EVIDENCE OF MATT'S ATTRACTION, CHAPTER THREE:
“You were… you were going to open the cut again.” He ducked his head. “You were going to press too hard and the angle was off. Here, just...” His hand slid up over yours. Your fingers were shaky, maybe too shaky to do this on your own—is it because he’s so close?—without opening your split lip again, but with his assistance, you managed the barest pressure as he guided your thumb gently over your lip, leaving a faint honey scent and a soothing coolness behind. You sighed as the dull pain finally abated, and his legs nudged yours as a shiver slid down his spine. “There.” His voice was so quiet, you had to strain to make out the word. He still hadn’t released your fingers even as your paired hands dropped slightly. “Not as good as new but it’s on its way.”
EVIDENCE OF MATT'S ATTRACTION, CHAPTER FOUR:
The hem of his shirt dropped from your fingers and you reached up to cradle his jaw, drawing his attention back to you. He rolled his head into your touch, stubble rasping against your palm before he caught himself and straightened.
EVIDENCE OF MATT'S ATTRACTION/OOPS NOW THERE ARE FEELINGS WITH THE WANTING BUT WHAT'S THE POINT IF YOU'LL NEVER LOVE ME BACK BECAUSE I AM A SAD LONELY MARTYR BOI, CHAPTER SIX:
“You’re telling me you’re not afraid of someone who could do that?” “I’m not. You know I’m not.” “Maybe you should be.” The words were dragged from him, rough and broken. He slumped as he lifted a hand to rub across his face. “How could anyone let themselves lo-… be around someone like that? Someone who hurts people so easily? Someone who’s so close to being like-like the people he’s…”
Basically, Matt wanted Jane VERY early on - was attracted and then developed feelings - because that's just how he is. Also he may have repeatedly been turned on by her scent for a g e s before him and Jane got together, which is something I intend to write another fic about cause it's hot.

petrichor 1 + 37!
1) What's the lie your character tells most often?
Petrichor tends to obscure rather than outright lie, especially in regard to their feelings. Openly acknowledging their emotions to someone means being forced to properly confront them, and potentially getting overwhelmed in front of people they care for- so they often prefer redirecting conversations, engaging in distracting activities, or "dealing with their feelings privately" (read: not very well). There is, however, a significant lie Petrichor has been telling themself and others: their stance of "I don’t want to find peace before I know I’ve made a difference." While they genuinely want to help others, they DO desire peace — they're just afraid they'll fail to attain it, and let the people they love down. They fear that, regardless of how much love they have to give and support they know they’ll receive, they’ll never escape the feeling of “I am not doing enough” - and hurt others despite their best efforts to relax. The physical and mental toll of the campaign’s events and the discovery that their father faced similar struggles and lost (not to mention having been on the receiving end of that hurt) has amplified this fear tenfold.
37)What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?
I feel like it would take a lot for them to be able to talk about the often reckless and self-destructive tendencies they have when they’re alone and trying to process strong feelings, but with proper support and a genuine desire to be a good partner they’d learn to open up eventually. HOWEVER on a much lighter note they would absolutely have several (harmless) gross little habits theyd magically cover up and never tell a soul about.

The c!Quackity's characterization I've seen from the new fans of the spanish community is awful, they see him as this big bad power hungry villain with a thirst for vengeance. And I know most of the info they're getting is just from twitter threads and the subtitled parts of the nevadas lore in the Spanish channel but---NO, HE'S NOT LIKE THAT, YOU DON'T GET IT
:( damn i didn't even know abt all that. i'm not on twitter like at all so i haven't seen this happen. it's just hard to understand his character if you haven't seen his pov from earlier arcs, i'm nm at their confusion. it happens. i'm sure if i tried to nail karmaland quackity's character from only reading threads about him i wouldn't get him either.
and like to a degree? yeah. cquackity has been power hungry because of how he was completely stripped of it in the past, though he should've had a say in things. nobody respected him during manburg or in pogtopia. if he finally has power, he can finally keep himself safe, he can keep the people he cares about safe, y'know? and he has been very vengeful! finally abandoning the never-ending cycle of revenge is a huge & very important part of his character's arc. but i still stand by that he's not a villain, he's not a big bad. especially manburg cquackity, which is what i was talking about in the post i made about poor characterization. if you go through cquackity fanart from that era, specifically art of him at the festival, a lot of it depicts him being happy that tubbo dies. when that's literally not true. people just do him so fucking dirty, they portray him as someone who does not care about his friends or loved ones when he does. so fucking much. love & keeping the people he cares for safe are huge motivations for cq. anyway my hope is people who think Las Nevadas era cquackity is this big bad villain will be proved wrong in the next lore stream when we're shown how he's grown since Charlie positively influenced his life.

13. How important are romantic relationships to your OC? Do they prefer casual sex, short flings, or long term relationships? Do they want to get married or are they content with what they have? Or do they have no interest in romance whatsoever?
(last question struck through because I know that Surkie has interest in romance XD)
SEE RELATIONSHIPS ARE A FUN SUBJECT FOR SURKIE, mostly because it's such a tumultuous subject for her - and actually, that last question is applicable at different points in her life. So the short answers are:
Yes, they are important now but not necessarily have been
Surkie has mostly functioned on casual sex and a handful of short flings + one tumultuous FWB situation but now that she's figured out what she actually wants, it's predominantly focusing on the long-term relationships she's built over ~7 years
Surkie honestly has never wanted to get married? Like, she just never considered it as an option or something she'd do. She's perfectly content staying at the dating stage because she has no intent on being unfaithful whatsoever and has full trust in her partners. Yet understand that she's the one who was quietly freaking out on the boat ride to Sharlayan because of Aymeric popping the damn question to the three of them. She's more than fine staying at just fiances - especially since it gets people off her ass more than just lover, or w/e - but she's been warming up to the idea of marriage it's just...not a pressing desire? just a lack of wanting it, not necessarily against (though the legal ramifcations she could really do without)
She USED to not have interest in romance. And that's a trauma response on her part! Because her intro to romance and first - and for a while, only - example was her abusive ex girlfriend, Misaki. She set the standard for romance which made Surkie allergic to the concept. Only when people began to actually treat her properly is when she fully began to unpack said trauma and how it's warped her perception on intimate relationships.
More convoluted response below:
So, romantic relationships fluctuate in importance for Surkie through her life. She thought it was something she wanted as a teenager - which is when she got with Misaki - but that relationship went so poorly and had such a drastic power imbalance that it skewed Surkie's idea of what it means to be romantic and what romance should look like. So through ARR to about the beginning of HVW, she focused predominantly on casual sex and a few flings here and there to try and figure herself out. Misaki really fucked with her head and made her really standoffish to the idea of anything romantic or anything that'd leave her vulnerable. This is also where she develops her hard stance on top only, and has a fairly lengthy list of women she's slept with in the year and a half for this time frame.
This in part shifts because of traveling with Seraphin and Teodore. The two hooked up during their adventures and thus Surkie was stuck around these assholes constantly. It also immediately brought into perspective her only serious relationship (and first one) and how fucking awful it was. It left her feeling hollow and sick and basically told herself to not pursue anything serious lest she be lured in with the joy those two have for it all to come crashing down.
Ysayle was the first person she had proper romantic feelings for after Misaki. While she was good friends with Moenbryda and thought she might've felt something for Y'shtola, neither of those really panned out? Same with Yugiri. Ysayle, however, she was enamored with. And that was the glimpse into how things could've gone and she let herself be hopeful for once.
Uuunnnntil Azys Lla.
Surkie spent a fair amount of time after the fact trying to define what this sort of thing was for herself - especially now that Gwen and Y'shtola were a thing, and Katsuro, Thancred, and Urianger were public, and the fact that Altan had W'khittri - but it never worked. She tried Yugiri again, and that didn't work. She genuinely tried with Aymeric - the first man she ever had feelings for - and that ended in a panic attack and them keeping things at arms length while skirting around open feelings. Flings picked back up to an unhealthy degree, and instead of recognizing the fact that she was deeply lonely, her brother just chastised her for having bad coping mechanisms.
Then of course, the long term fling with Estinien that turned into feelings that she then tried to push him to get with Aymeric so that she had an excuse to not get with either (YOU FOOL, ALL THREE OF YOU ARE POLYAMOROUS). Loneliness and the issues with her brother began to compound and worsen the more obvious the couples got, which made the flings and one night stands into a regular occurrence.
Shadowbringers made that all worse. Katsu's relationship drama was front and center, Gwen getting to reunite with Y'shtola, and everything going on made that loneliness worse as Surkie dove headfirst into her prolonged will-they-won't-they with trying to sleep with Cyella. Something about this woman reminded her of Ysayle and she may have...spent a good chunk of that expansion pack trying to sleep with her because - from her perspective - this was the closest she'd ever get to ever being with Ysayle. Which...well she didn't know Cyella was being standoffish for the same reason since she saw her own assumed-dead-ex in Surkukteni (hm i wonder why). Regardless, because so much of the romantic bullshit culminated in Shadowbringers while Surkie was the only one of the group that wasn't partnered, it was starting to really hurt her and her brother was no help in the matter whatsoever. She had feelings for a man that her brother hated, her feelings for her "dead" ""unrequited"" crush only growing worse with time and not better, so this became a sensitive subject. And understandably (and predictably), she responded to this not with expressing the fact that she doesnt want to be lonely anymore (because again, gestures at katsuro and gestures at the group who is uh. kinda with each other? save the twns and ryne obvs, but like. y'shtola/gwen. thancred/urianger/katsuro. seraphin/teodore. only adult who wasn't partnered was the exarch), but with frustration at affection, anything implying romance, and denying herself from entertaining the idea that it'd ever get better. Again: she was plotting on how to get Estinien and Aymeric together so they'd be happy with each other and she'd not be that perpetual curse that got people she was interested in almost or actually killed.
Yeah, she's. Really fucked up and relationships for her are kind of a big deal for her.
She only starts to even out right around 5.3. Sure, the edge was curbed in 5.1 by briefly seeing Estinien again, but it was right back to the battlefield and having to stuff down how she felt for the sake of maintaining a Strictly Platonic relationship (you fucking dumbass, he's liked you since hvw). 5.3 is when she finally breaks from how awful she fucking feels and how fucked up this has made her, especially since the Cyella stuff has reached a head and they have to end things for their own sakes due to just...constantly reopening old hurt in the other respectively. 5.3 is when she fully gets with Estinien, but understand that she's a fucking wreck at this point. She doesn't explicitly know what she wants - does she want this arrangement to continue? does she want to just be honest? does she just want the feelings to go away? - but she opens her heart regardless of how much it hurts to do so and how anxious it makes her. This is panic attack no2 when confessing to someone, by the by.
This tangent is relevant because actually being honest with someone who genuinely cares about her and knows how to handle her vulnerability and internal issues around this stuff allows her to work through exactly what she wants out of things, realizing just how fucked up Misaki made her, and that y'know yeah, she can allow herself to pursue a serious relationship even with everything that led up to that point.
And then she reunites with Ysayle. And then she upholds her promise with Aymeric. There's also the stuff with Heustienne I'm finalizing - not to mention the ENW + post ENW acquisitions of Gwendoline and Venat, but that's all an aside.
What's more relevant is the fact that the relationship she builds with her partners helps give her needed perspective and time and space to work through the smothered down issues Misaki left her with. Flings quickly become less appealing, she's more okay with the idea of settling down with them (especially since they're now over here having kids), and marriage goes from an uncomfortable subject to something she actually humors since she still gets giddy from the fact she has three fiances, something she's always reminded about when picking at the engagement necklace she's got.
tl;dr Surkie's had a very rough relationship with relationships due to the abuse she experienced in her very first one. It's only through working through that trauma does she finally figure out what she really wants, but until she got there she stuck with flings and emotional distance to avoid getting hurt again.

Sorry to discourse at you, you can ignore this if you want. Regarding George's humor, this is a big area where I struggle to like George. Particularly in his relationship to Paul, but also just overall. Like, my sisters and I will make some pretty mean jokes about each other, but we would never make them in front of our extended family. There's a public/private divide with that kind of humor. If that makes sense? And I try not to be too hard on George, because maybe when you're that famous (2/2)
Anon Ask 2: ...it stops being fair to ask someone to censor the sense of humor. But I just get uncomfortable knowing that George knows that some portion of the audience will take the joke seriously and telling it anyway. And I feel like this is particularly prominant with Paul, who he has also said bad stuff about publicly in a non-joking way. I don't actually know what I'm asking here. I'm just blurting this out to you because engaging with how George's humor interacts with his celebrity is hard for me.
Reference to my post and original gif set which sparked this discussion
Hiya anon! No worries about sending an ask, Im happy to talk about this topic in a little more depth :)
So something I didn’t really touch upon in my last post was that I do actually believe there were some Bitchy (for lack of a better term) things George said to Paul, particularly throughout the early 70s, which I think clearly went beyond harmless joking and were legitimately Mean Things to do or say. It’s not that I think these moments between George and Paul should be looked at in isolation, because there obviously was a long history between the two (and as well, the early 70s was just Complicated in general for everybody), so that should be accounted for if were going to criticise George for this. But despite the long history, I still think a lot of these things were unnecessary, and we should recognise that (and to be honest, not feel like we Always Have To Justify Everything? Sometimes people just do shitty things, and we can say that, and not have to victimise or vilify them for that).
I feel like this is the type of point where George fans are gonna read it and think “okay so she *hates* George” and vice-versa with Paul fans—but to be honest, this isn’t really an area where I feel like its necessary to take sides. I feel like there can be a tendency to forget, especially when we’re trying to Psychoanalyse or Understand [or whatever you wanna call it] celebrities, that they’re all just human beings. Like everyone has said nasty things to other people, and everyones had nasty things said to them—but a period of hostility between two friends isn’t necessarily representative of what their relationship is really like, if you catch my meaning. My point I guess is kind of that, 50 or so years on, we should be able to recognise that Sure That Was Kind Of A Shitty Thing To Do, but theres a difference between recognising and critiquing something, and then actually passing judgement on an individual and Taking Sides, which often leads us to trying to justify Everything one person did while critiquing the other to excess. And real judgement seems fairly pointless to me in the case between George and Paul, because I think at the end of the day, they both just did Shitty Things to one another—but try being friends with someone for 15+ years without that happening. Im not saying that it means we should ignore aspect to their relationship or that it makes it licit, but I suppose what seems to be of more importance to me is that I think they both eventually tried change an adapt for one another.
I see what you mean as well when it comes to a public and private divide with humour; there are jokes you’d make in front of your closest friends/family, but wouldn’t make in front of other people. In this specific case though (with the “Paul has no good songs of his own” comment), I honestly just think this was Something Funny that came to Georges mind in the moment, and he wasn’t taking into the wider contexts, i.e music critics. And while I don’t want to Project or anything, just speaking from my own perspective I can say that irl Im the type of person who will say just about anything that comes to mind for me in the moment if I think its funny—and I get that impression from George too. I just feel like me and (probably) George are the types who just like to joke a lot, and are always looking to make other people laugh (as well as ourselves)—which kind of leads me to believe that when George makes a joke like “Paul has no good songs of his own left”, I think his expectation is that Paul is in on the joke, rather then just the butt of the joke. I guess thats really up for your own interpretation though (and as aforementioned, I think there were jokes in other periods of their lives where I wouldn’t feel this really rings true).
I think as well, George must have known the music industry well enough by this point to be aware that sure, there were music critics and people sitting at home watching who genuinely would have Thought That. But again, if we’re speaking about intentions, I don’t get the impression that this was it, because as I mentioned before, I don’t feel like there was even any real intention behind the joke; I really just think it was a funny thing that came to mind for him; whether that makes it okay or not is up for debate (and to be honest, its your call really). Lowkey as well, I actually kind of think the people who Actually Believe Paul had no good songs of his own left (and so was Practically Forced to use some of Johns 😩) are really the butt of the joke? Like it rubs of as very dry, sarcastic commentary on those types of critics to me.
I guess also if you look at most British comedians, a lot of humour relies on deprecating other people—especially on things like panel shows. Again thats obviously a different situation to the one George was in, but I think the general point is that when you have a very dry and sardonic sense of humour, you’re very prone to mocking other people, and that can be malicious—but at the same time, for a lot of people it really is just their way of telling jokes, and no Actual Offence is intended.
But to return to the original point, I do hear what you’re saying in that ‘he has also said bad stuff about publicly in a non-joking way’, and I don’t really disagree. But what I was thinking with my response to that post specifically was like, there are genuinely mean things he said to Paul that I think are very-much worth discussing, but this imo just isn’t one of them? Like the way Im seeing other people respond [and this goes out to both the Staunch Paul Defendants AND the people saying “George was telling the truth!!” btw] just feels like an overreaction to me. So yeah—obviously I have no idea who you are anon, but tbh, I think if you wanted to get a discussion going about Georges treatment of Paul, theres a lot of room for that and Id be interested to read it! I just don’t feel that the joke we’re discussing here today greatly exemplifies your overarching point.
But thats just my thoughts on this :) and tbh, I think I feel especially defensive of George in this specific instance just because Im Well Aware that his joke is the exact sort of thing I would say to people irl. Maybe its just a Sibling Thing, if you see what I mean—I think if you have a big family, everyones always trying to get the last laugh in also feel like this is an Irish Catholic Family thing but maybe thats a talk for another day lol.

She's tugging on his shirt, next - a thinly pressed frown etched onto her flawless and well cared for complexion. It's clear she has some thoughts. Thoughts of how they look different enough, feel different enough to have garnered the sympathy of the elder.
"I don't understand why you don't extend the same... sympathy. To the other's like us. The way you do with me." She admits, quiet. Theo's brows only furrowed, and she tried to find the words to ask, to inquire.
"Am I really that far removed from you and your experience? Why would that mean that any of us deserved what happened?"
@voloartius
Thad's still reeling himself in. Each inhale and exhale still audible as he tried to calm himself. Anger is difficult for him to let go of. Most of his life was dictated by that one emotion.
But with the tug at his sleeve and hearing Theo's voice speak up he finds calm because his anger is not directed toward her. He doubts it ever will be like it is with some other versions of himself.
He swallows at her question. He knew better than anything that he was not a friend to himself. That Theo was right that he saw her as different in ways, "Your life is very different from mine and I don't know what is going through your head. Not always at least." He understood what she thought about her purpose, he understood the hatred, but there were great chasms of difference between them as well. He could have never faked loving Bart like a brother like Theo had done with Bea. He couldn't wrap his mind around ever loving Bart like a brother let alone merely accepting anything positive about him.
"I don't always understand you or your thoughts. I can't assume or work with similarities like I can with other versions of myself that reflect a life much more similar to mine....If you're asking why I'm kind to you then I don't know. I just am. Maybe I think you're different. Maybe I can't judge you like I can those others. I don't know." There was a lot he simply just didn't know.
Thad crosses his arms over his chest somewhat as if to steady himself, to convey some confidence, but another part of it was to protect himself too, "I only said that because I think I did or do?–– deserve it. For everything I did. For how blind an stupid I was. He reminds me so much of my stupid younger self. He's so goddamn blind and he still believes those lies that I want to shake him. I want to shake sense into him." His teeth clench beneath his lips as he just thinks on his youth and it pisses him the hell off. He had been so stupid. So god damn stupid. None of it had been worth it. Not for the sake of the Thawnes or the feud, or even himself. He was left as raw as he had been before he killed Bart and it took spiraling downward and his own death for him to find any clarity or even a twinge of regret.
"I think I deserved it, but I learned with that pain too. I know I hated what happened to me and that I yell and rail against it, and I know I'm being contradictory, but a part of me feels it was deserved or necessary too." He lets out a dry laugh and shakes his head, "I don't know. I just don't know. It's hard to explain and I don't have any easy answers to give. I just feel the way that I do."

Hi! Just curious, what did you think of the character development of the three bullies (Matsui, Sakaki, and Akane) in LJ? Honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the game, and I could write a whole essay on how much I love their development by the end of the story ❤️ I only wish we got to see more of them in the School Stories, though
I thought it was good! I really did appreciate that the games made it clear, regardless of how young they are that their behaviour and harassment can very well have lifelong affects on the person they bullied but Yagami and the narrative still acknowledged that they *can* change for the better and become kinder people but even doing so that doesn't mean that the person they harmed will ever forgive- Maybe she will one day or maybe she'll begrudge them for the rest of her life, Yagami and the story never pressures her to forgive or to be friendly to them and I think that was so refreshing! Typically is goes "Bully becomes better, victim forgives, they become friends." that's not what happened here.
As for the kids themselves, Mastui in in particular I enjoyed, they did a very good job of making that kid look actually ashamed and I appreciated that he kept coming forward even though it was clearly difficult and embarrassing for him to do so- Sakaki clearly was spiraling and not well and I'd wager she somewhat downplayed her actions in her mind but seeing her actually regret her actions and earnestly apologize was really nice too!! And again I appreciate that they never hound Koda for forgiveness or to build a friendship- they all eventually realize the error in their ways and that's great.
I do agree though I wish they were in more of the school stories so we could get to know them a bit better and see the growth a little more up close!

tell me about blaine fam <3
*holds up Blaine* He’s my baby boy.
His full name is Blaine Sebastian Garcia, and he’s the main character my first book in the Beauty and the Mermaid series (He’s the Mermaid), tentatively called Crescendo. Because well, he is a music kid, but the real idea behind the name is that the story is about Blaine finding his voice and confidence again. That’s the crescendo of the story. His healing.
But! I’m getting ahead of myself, so let’s go back to the beginning.
Blaine’s parents actually divorced before he was ever born. His father, an absolute dick by the way, didn’t want a second child. He didn’t even really want the first one, B’s older brother Roman, who was born when his mom was still college which led her to dropping out to raise him. (Their dad says that Roman was born to trap him in a marriage. Their mom, obviously, does not agree with this story). Needless to say, Daddy Garcia was never particularly fond of Roman, he hardly paid him any attention (and what attention he did give was largely negative), and when he found out there was going to be a second kid, he split. No goodbyes, just left for work one day and didn’t come back. Weeks later, divorce papers arrived in the mail. (Roman never forgives his father for how he left, or how he treated him, which leads to a lot of fighting between the two later down the line.)
So Blaine was raised by a single mother, but really if you ask B he would say he was raised mostly by Roman. Because like, physically there mom was always around and she did take care of them in the sense of she kept a roof over there head and gave them food, but for the first 5 years of Blaine’s life, she was extremely emotionally distant. And with everything going on, she was just so exhausted and completely depleted and,,, you know she was depressed and it was all she could do to get up and go to work so they didn’t lose the house. She did her best, but as the years went on it was getting harder and harder for her.
For a short time, when Blaine was 5 and Roman is 9 I believe (the ages still confuse me, I’m so bad with time math), the pair wind up in foster care after a teacher becomes concerned about their home life (which Roman had been trying to hide for a long time because he still loved his mom, he knew she was trying her best and didn’t want her to get into trouble), while their mother gets some help getting back on her feet and back to feeling a lot more like herself.
And once she is in a place to care for her kids again, they go home. The next few years are when she teaches Blaine to play piano (something that becomes his favorite escape as he grows up), she teaches both of her boys how to speak Tagalog (Her first language), as well as does her best to teach them about Philippine culture.
Blaine still always goes to Roman first for comfort, for advice. He loves his brother so much, and believes there’s no person better in the world then his kuya (older brother).
And maybe it’s better that way, because when Blaine is 10 their mom is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She only lives another 6 months after the diagnosis, and when she dies Blaine and Roman after left with no choice but to be shipped off to the father.
And that’s not a fun few years for either of them, Blaine does his best to stay out of sight out of mind. Meanwhile Roman is enrolled by his father at a boarding school, Ravenwood, that’s a couple hours away from the city they now live in. Mostly because their dad didn’t want to live with an angry Roman who would now fight back every time he said something rude or negative. (Roman is so angry about this decision because he just wants to be there for Blaine, he starts so many fights trying to get kicked out until finally his soon to be best friend Evan helps him realize that the best way to help Blaine in this situation was to create a space at Ravenwood waiting for him to arrive).
Blaine has a tough few years in middle school. Especially when people start spreading rumors about him being gay, he gets bullied a bit but he has his music to escape to and he knows, knows that Roman will always love and support him no matter what.
And in 8th grade, Blaine falls in love the first time. Turns out he’s not the only queer kid, and though they keep their relationship very private (they don’t even hang out as friends in school), it’s actually a semi-decent relationship as far as middle school goes. They get close enough that Blaine feels comfortable telling him the one thing only Roman knew at this point. That he was trans.
(Blaine realized he was trans when he was about 5. It didn’t click all at once, but you know he could tell something was wrong about being called a girl and it progressed from there. He eventually chose his new name with the help of Roman (and his favorite movie for a middle name), and their mom went through the process of getting it legally changed and so that was just that. Their dad didn’t even know because he left before Blaine was born.)
At first, his boyfriend reacts quite shocked and angry, hangs up the phone and doesn’t respond to Blaine for days. But B thinks he just needs time to process and he’ll come around, and he seems to because he eventually brings Blaine flowers and asks him to the end of year dance.
And this, this is where things really go wrong for Blaine. He doesn’t remember the details of what happened for months, all he knows is one minute he was stepping out for some air with his date, and the next he was waking up days later in the hospital after being gay bashed on the football field and nearly dying.
Which, as you would expect, leaves a lot of scars on Blaine. The head trauma he received obviously caused him a bit of amnesia, it also caused him so trouble with focusing and stringing together words, though that heals over time but it’s an issue for the first few months. The damage also left Blaine far sighted and in need of glasses (which he absolutely hates wearing because for Blaine they are a sign of the trauma he’s been though and the fact he will never be who he was before this. He will take a headache or blurry vision over wearing them by choice, especially outside of his house/dorm room.) The entire attack also left Blaine with ptsd, a massive spike in his anxiety, and struggling with selective mutism (which he comes to despise the quickest because he just wants his voice back!! But this is part of how he earns his mermaid nickname, because like Ariel he has lost his voice and it can only be regained by destroying the sea witch).
Because of the attack, and because it’s now come out that Blaine is both trans and gay, their dad kicks him out of the house. And of course Roman is going to follow, so with the help of Evan (mentioned above, Ro’s best friend), he collects their things and moves into an apartment in a small town less then 30 minutes from Ravenwood.
And that, that’s kind of Blaine’s story. Because of the fact he finds himself struggling to create words in the wake of the attack, Blaine uses a lot of sign language to communicate (Him and Roman learned it together when they moved in with their dad, so that they could talk without fear of him snooping or getting angry). He supplements this also with a lot of gestures and facial expressions, as well as some texting/writing (which makes him such a fun character to write because I have to communicate so much with body language). Blaine also uses music to communicate, sometimes he will just play a lyric to stand in for a sentence, or he’ll present an entire song as how he’s feeling and it’s up to whoever he’s talking to to put together the pieces (He uses a lot of music in therapy, especially when he’s trying to piece back together his memories. He gets feelings first and those feelings are tied to songs).
Blaine winds up singing for most of his friends before he is ever able to speak because music is just easier for him. And it makes sense when you see him on stage, deep in the performance of a song like it’s the one place he belongs.
What else is there to say about my boy?
Oh, my favorite fun fact about Blaine is that he knows a handful of languages enough to be fluent in them (he likes to learn languages for fun, and he’s really good at it. Something in his brain just clicks with languages). But! He knows how to cuss in an even larger number of languages. Blaine refuses to curse in English, but if he ever says anything to you in another language the chances are high it’s something that should not be repeated.
Besides piano, Blaine can also play guitar. Roman taught him, starting right around the time their mom got cancer. He doesn’t love it as much as piano, but he is really good at it.
Blaine’s favorite movie is the Little Mermaid. This is both why is middle name is Sebastian (It couldn’t be Eric because “It would be weird if I had the same name as my husband, Roman.”), and the second reason he is the Mermaid. (The third being that the twins, two of his closest friends, call him Ariel). Also he has a stuffed dog named Eric who is his favorite comfort item.
Blaine has bad night terrors. Bad like he can be a danger to himself and sometimes other people, and you can’t wake him up but there are ways to help calm him down and get him back to sleep. Blaine never remember these though, and he only knows they happen because he gets told. The night terrors are the reason his friend group implements Blaine Duty, where they take turns sleeping in Blaine’s room with him so someone will be right there if he needs it (Blaine has a room to himself thanks to Roman pulling some strings, and because of the night terrors, so his friends keep him company). The night terrors become less frequent as time passes, but Blaine Duty never stops.
Blaine has a pair of heelys. Gifted to him by his best friend Connor, B wears them all of the time and you will see him heelying most places. (There was once an attempt to attach rockets to them that failed, however he did get rockets attached to a pair of skates instead. It is a wonder he’s still alive.)
Speaking of Connor, Blaine’s relationship with him can only be described as ambiguously queer. They flirt a lot, call each Babe and Love, Blaine definitely thinks Connor is a pretty boy and wants to kiss him, but they are not dating. At all. Blaine gets a boyfriend book 2 and things get more gay because Connor flirts with both of them now and honestly I don’t even know what’s going on there, but I love it so much. Like, they are that one post about how you should be a little in love with your friends.
One of my favorite running jokes in the series that revolves around Blaine is that he frequently says “I’m kissable” or something of the same vibe. This boy just likes to kiss people. Not even romantically/sexually, he just thinks it’s fun. He has kissed most of his friends, but routinely refuses to kiss Connor (because he finds it funny and also again, there’s something gay between them and Connor is “so pretty” according to B).
There’s a group chat called “Blaine’s Music Therapy”, where Blaine shares songs he believes matches the vibes of his friends, or just reminds him of them. Sometimes he’s very sweet in doing this, and sometimes he is a menace and uses his music powers for evil. He will read your every flaw in song if you give him the chance (affectionately, he never shares songs out of malice, he’s too nice for that. But he will call you out about self sabotaging).
Oh! One of my other favorite Blaine fun facts is that he always has perfect eyeliner. It doesn’t matter what he is doing, like he could be sobbing his eyes out and his eyeliner will never run, it doesn’t smudge, it always comes out looking exactly how he wants it to. No there’s no explanation for why this is the case. I just think it’s funny.
I think that’s a pretty good overview of my lovely little Blaine.
This kid has been through so fucking much in his life, but the one thing that really gets me about Blaine is that he has never given up. It would be easier for him to shut down and shut out the world after all it’s put him through. He could refuse to make friends, close off his heart so it couldn’t be hurt again but he doesn’t do that.
Despite everything, Blaine genuinely believes there is so much good in the world. And he has to fight his anxiety and his trauma a lot, especially in the early days, to let him try again with trusting a new group of people. It’s exhausting for him, and obviously not a linear street and sometimes it feels like a constant battle against himself, but Blaine is determined to get better. He is determined to make friends and be happy and to not let his past control his life.
And it just, it means a lot to me. To be able to write him fighting so hard against himself to be the person he wants to be. Leaning on music to help him through, help him process what he’s feeling or why he’s feeling that way, and using it as a language to communicate with other people.
I love all of the Misfits (Blaine’s friend group), I really do. But Blaine is the one I put the most of myself into, and the reason he’s the main character is because he’s the one I need to write.

𝙲:\𝚄𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚜\ @survyve \ 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝> 𝚌md> SASUKE. > a kiss while being reunited after a long time :^)
here's the way the romantic in mail's head thought it would go: mail would spend all his time working on bringing the uchiha compound back to its old glory, sasuke would come home, they would embrace -- maybe even kiss.
here's the reality: mail didn't do this for that. mail didn't bring this compound back because he thought he'd get something out of it. he did it because he didn't want sasuke to come back to yet another project on his hands. he didn't want sasuke to come back and still have to look after his home. to have to see the damage, the destruction and--
and no one else was doing it. no one put him up to it. he replanted the tomato plants, he nursed the feral cats back to health -- he even sat and asked ino yamanaka for help with the plants, and hana inuzuka with the cats. he never asked for help for himself, and yet, for this--
he wanted it to be perfect.
so they don't have the movie embrace. they don't kiss, they don't hug -- it's a lot for sasuke to take in. mail knows well enough how he is, he knows this like he knows breathing. he wonders, distantly, if sasuke expected to come back and see him with his rebreather on.
he looks different, of course, because it had been some time since he was back -- some time spent figuring out his own life, his journey. mail looked different, too, his hair had grown out and he was a bit more filled out musculature wise, like he'd had time to do physical labor. of course, taking care of the compound was labor enough on its own.
here's the reality: they don't kiss when sasuke first returns home. they don't kiss for days, weeks, months. they don't kiss and sasuke goes away for another mission -- this time, one actually sanctioned by the hokage. he's got to prove he's worth being back in the village, after all.
here's the reality: it seems like their first kiss should be some big, grand gesture. like a new thing both of them had been wanting all this time, like fireworks, like everything in their lives had changed at once.
here's the reality: sasuke comes in the door after his mission, he's aching, tired, and this time? he's not surprised to see mail in the small living room. he's not surprised to see mail stayed, or to see the plates in the sink, the towel thrown over the back of the drying stand by the back porch. the signs mail had been living there for weeks.
and mail is so relieved to see him -- because he'd heard sasuke had finished his mission early, and he wasn't expecting him back for a couple days. sasuke is standing in his -- their home. and before matt can think about what he's doing, he's stepping into sasuke's orbit, and as simple as breathing, he's reaching up to cup his hands around the sides of sasuke's jaw.
when he pulls sasuke down into a kiss, a sweet, tender movement, he finds sasuke returning it, and this? this felt more like home than their first reunion did. this felt more right than anything mail had felt in the world.
mail finds himself grinning into sasuke's mouth, and this was what he was secretly hoping for the first time.
here's the reality: when he pulls away, he says two simple words, the same he said all those months ago.
'welcome home.'

Ugh, yeah the scene of Hawke handing Fenris to Danarius and Anders agreeing with it is utterly horrific. I don't understand why the writers went with that, but I guess it's what we got. You'd think Justice would interfere as well as he despises slavery. Vivienne stans living in an alternate universe where she's the perfect model minority with no flaws whatsoever? What a shocker..
Yeah, that moment makes little sense to me. If it was Surana, whom it was originally supposed to be, then the comment, though disgusting, would fall more in line with the horrible crap she said in Awakening. But for Anders, who's been on the run almost a dozen times? For Justice, who was still himself when we entered the Fade? It just doesn't click for me well. One of those moments that feels like the original writers wrote him OOC, tbh. But as you said, it's what we've got.
The only way I can think of it is... Anders was looking to hurt Fenris, for some reason. In his efforts to do so, he said something horrible, something he may not even agree with, just so he can create a wound. It's something I've done; it's something I think most people have done at least once in their lives. Allowing themselves to become a monster just so that they can make someone else hurt.
Whether it's that or he meant it doesn't matter. It's sickening. It deserves to be called out. You can love the character and also despise that moment; humans are capable of such complexity. In fact, maturity often means recognizing both the good and bad in a person.
A person, for instance, like Vivienne. Because from what I've seen, Vivienne made herself into a monster long ago, and she now revels in it. I've quoted this before, but there's a conversation between her and Cole that makes my stomach twist every time. I'll give you the pertinent recounting here:
Cole: The templars hurt mages.
Vivienne: Stupid, panicking mages who became a danger to themselves and others because of you!
Vivienne: You brought matters in the Spire to a head. Without you, there would be no rebellion.
Vivienne: Countless deaths are on your head, demon. Are you satisfied with the result of your protection?
Cole: You're lying. You're... twist the words right, and it will show its true form. Blood or banishment, either will suffice.
Cole: You like the templars. You think they were right.
You like the templars. You think they were right.
In this exact instance, Cole is saying, point-blank, that Vivienne knows the templars were hurting and killing mages, and she feels they were right to do so.
So when it comes to mages... no, Vivienne does not care. After all...
Solas: While mages live in depravation you do not share? You lord their mystique over those not so gifted. Well played, Enchanter. In another age you might have ruled an empire.
Vivienne: You are too kind, my dear. But this age is still young.
I don't think I need to explain this any further.
As for elves...
Inquisitor: There's an altar.
Vivienne: If the elves performed some sort of magic here... we should proceed with caution, Inquisitor.
This may sound normal if you look at it from the surface - you're in the Cradle of Sulevin, there's a weird altar, and it all culminates in a battle you definitely saw coming. But it's weird that Vivienne didn't say something like 'if these people' or 'if they' or 'if some sort of magic...' It's disturbing that she emphasizes with, 'if the elves...' It's almost like she's denigrating them or something.
Sera: You all think no one can touch you, but I say a kind word to a butler and I'm in your vault. Because he hates you.
Vivienne: And I'll fill it just to watch you scurry from the gutter. Again and again and again.
Vivienne: Big vault. Little elf.
She says it because she knows it will bother Sera. But it bothers me. Mocking her as if she's a rat. It's disgusting.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. The things I remember off the top of my head.
These people can despise Anders all they want. They can love Vivienne all they want. They can have a million reasons, or none at all; everyone has the right to love or hate whichever fictional characters they want. But pray they don't come to my house and say anything so hypocritical and stupid as how Anders is racist, but Vivienne isn't.

All the clubs for Souma!
♥️ ♣️ Send a playing card to my ask box! ♦️ ♠️
A♣️ - What’s your muse’s strongest talent?
I’d say it’s probably how quickly he picks things up, typically.  Maybe this is a cheap answer, but it’s my honest opinion.  Souma is actually very good at a lot of things-- and not all, or even most of those things came easily.  He works hard, and once it clicks, he works even harder.
2♣️ - What topics of conversation does your muse enjoy the most?
First and foremost, things that he can talk about!  While he does enjoy listening to others speak about things they love, he does become a little dejected or even frustrated with conversation that he can’t keep up with.  He’s a very social person, so he’s happiest if you bring him into your world instead of simply talking at him.  He’ll typically try to show the same courtesy in return.  And to the point of the question, most of Souma’s favourite things to talk about are actually things that have been introduced to him or otherwise influenced by others.  Things such as the ocean, cooking, stuffed animals, travel, certain music instruments, and the like.
3♣️ - How creative is your muse?
Actually, he’s very creative!  It doesn’t always manifest in a way that others might expect, but it’s certainly a very big part of who he is.  He’s very, very artistically inclined, which combines with his rather straightforward nature to produce some truly unique ideas.
4♣️ - What does your muse have the most passion for?
Something that’s very important to note about Souma is that he has passion.  Whatever he feels, he feels intensely.  Whatever he enjoys, he does so with his whole heart.  Whatever he does is accomplished with every ounce of effort he can possibly muster.  With that said!  He’s come to truly, truly love his idol work.  AKATSUKI is, above all else, his joy and his ambition.
5♣️ - What would your muse change about their current lifestyle?
Souma is always, always striving to improve himself.  Occasionally, this does lead him to seek paths to drastic changes, often on impulse, whether it’s to become more studious, or to become more comedically inclined.  There are dozens of little things he would like to change, but as a whole, he’s satisfied with the way things are, and proud of the way he’s lived his life.
6♣️ - How do your muse’s “gut feelings” usually turn out?
Typically, Souma’s intuition is very sharp.  He also rarely acts on it or speaks of it.  Rather than responding to assumptions, he tends to react directly to the information presented to him.  As an example: if someone treats him kindly, he often responds in kind, regardless of potential danger, even if he does have an inkling that the situation may be unsafe.
7♣️ - Has your muse ever felt “trapped”, either figuratively or literally?
Quite frequently, actually.  But first of all, we don’t talk about Meteor Impact.  Just the natural consequence of his lifestyle clashing is that he often does feel like he can’t move in one direction or another.  His parents did eventually come around to his decision to become an idol, but most of his family is still a bit at odds with it.  And as another example, a lot of the ideals and concepts he was raised on simply aren’t compatible with the world he lives in now.
8♣️ - What is your muse the most stubborn about?
Is everything an appropriate answer?  He has a very, very rigid idea of how the world around him should work, and does not always take well to his conceptions being challenged.  He’s gotten better at accepting these things, but he still sometimes benefits from some gentle persuasion.
9♣️ - What is your muse’s proudest accomplishment?
Something something AKATSUKI.  He loves to be here, and he’s proud of the progress he’s made.  He loves his little found family.  He loves what they’ve become together.  So on and so forth.
10♣️ - When was the last time your muse took a vacation or trip?
He does travel occasionally for work?  Am I allowed to say that?
J♣️ - Who does your muse trust the most?
There’s a few people now, and Souma just is a naturally trusting person.  But more than anyone else, he trusts Adonis.  They’ve been more or less on the same wavelength since the moment they met.  This is someone he knows to be as honest and straightforward as he is, who would never harm anyone without good reason or great grief.  Kuro is another person he trusts implicitly.  And then... Keito, Kanata, and Kaoru are examples of people he makes the conscious decision to trust, despite the fact that they have wronged him in the past.  I find this important to note.  I could talk forever about the complexity of his relationships with those three people, but I’m not going to right now.
Q♣️ - Do other people consider your muse charming?
Yes, and they’re right.  He is SO charming.
K♣️ - How important is integrity to your muse?
This is quite literally the most important virtue to him.  Bar none.  This is what guides all of his actions.  This is the metric by which he judges others.
