CG Aqua, Terra, & Ventus w/ Babyspace Regressor Vanitas Hcs

💧 Vanitas actually involuntary regressed for a very long time without knowing what age regression was

🪵 It terrified him, feeling small and vulenerbal and scared, having to also fight for his life and reason to keep living

🍏 He regresses small to, about a few months to about 4

💀 It wasn’t until Terra (my lovely ‘dummy’) noticed that Vantias ‘outbursts’ were actually tantrums that he brought it up with him

💧 At first Vanitas shouted at him, calling him every name under the sun for even suggesting that Vanitas regressed

🪵 But Terra said that they all regressed, and even if Vanitas hadn’t been involuntierly regressing, perhaps he should try out the coping mechanism

🍏 Terra was Vanitas’s main cg for quite some time

💀 Why? Because it took some time for Aqua and Ventus to warm up to Vantias, always being suspicious of him, checking up on him to make sure he wans’t doing anything evil

💧 ^ This caused Vanitas to purposely act up sometimes, and then Terra would have to come and try to defend him

🪵 Terra only took him in faster because he was also controlled by darkness, and Vanitas, by extent, was a version of Ven, and he wasn’t going to give up on Vanitas when he never even got the chance

🍏 Regressed Vanitas was actually what made Aqua and Ventus trust Vanitas a bit more

💀 One day when Terra was out, Aqua found a sobbing Vanitas curled up in the middle of the hall, desperately holding onto a Hareraiser (the bunny unverse)

💧 She softened around the boy, letting Vanitas cling to her, sniffing as he hide in her shoulder (they ended up cuddling and watching cartoons)

🪵 With both Aqua and Terra accepting Vanitas, Ventus decided to give his ‘brother’ a chance

🍏 Don’t believe what Ventus tells you, Vanitas totally didn’t sob in his arms later that night because Ventus was giving the chance he always wished for (. . . One of thems a lier)

💀 Don’t ask Vanitas who his favorite is because he’ll either shout at you or start crying on spot, he doesn’t want to choose, he loves his entire family

💧 Vanitas has favorite little activities he’ll do with everyone

🪵 For Aqua, he likes sitting on the counter while she’s cooking (she normally kicks everyone out) and either try to help her, or eat the ingredients

🍏 ^ And then get really fussy because he ate half the chocolate chips and now had a tummy ache and it’s all Aqua’s fault!!! >:(

💀 Why didn’t she tell him not to do that?! How could she just stand there and watch him suffer!!!

💧 . . . She did tell him, he just ignored her and cotinued

🪵 For Ventus, he likes coloring with him

🍏 It sounds really simple, but Vanitas never really colored before and Ventus showed him how fun it was

💀 Plus, Ventus gives really nice praises to his pictures (which are really hard to desiper some times) and Vanitas really likes being praised for simple things

💧 Prefers making his own drawing over coloring books

🪵 For Terra, Vanitas likes story time!!

🍏 Terra does amazing story time!! He choices stories that are approeriate for Vanitas’s headspace but also not ‘boring’, and he does funny voices!!

💀 It also helps Vanitas with sleepytime, he usually gets super fussy when it comes to naptime and bedtime, but the promise of a book and some yummy milk will make him begrudgingly agree

💧 Aqua’s cg nicknames are Mama and ‘Auqa

🪵 Terra’s cg nicknames are Bubba and Venty (Venty Wenty when Vanitas is upset with him)

🍏 And Ventus’s cg nicknames are Papa and Bubba

💀 Vanitas hates nicknames >:\

💧 Or, he acts like he does (he’s not use to them just yet)

🪵 Some of Vanitas’s favorites are Tough Guy, Cookie, Sweetie (he’ll never admit it), Little One

🍏 ^ Mister as well, but only when he’s doing something naughty on purpose

💀 Exp: “Excuse me Mister, why are you trying to sneak that candy before bed? “

💧 It makes Vanitas happy beccause he doesn’t get screamed or shouted at, and he instead giggles and quickly tries to shove it into his mouth

🪵 (^ He’ll pout later about how he has no no more candy after dinner . . . it’s litterally his fault for eating it earlier though, but he will be stealing some of Terra’s candy later)

🍏 Super big sweeth tooth, but doesn’t indgulge

💀 Actually, Vanitas doesn’t eat much as it is (still getting use to having his own body) so when he’s small, they all try to fill him up on yummy food and sweets

💧 Vanitas gets incredibly bad nightmare, and wakes up feeling incredibly small and scared because of them most times

🪵 Luckily, his room is really close to all of theirs so he can quickly run to any of them and cuddle them until the morning

🍏 Aqua suggests a baby monitor that she can keep in her room and doesn’t have to be turned on unless he wants it on (which Vanitas gets super defensive and huffy about)

💀 He doesn’t use it until weeks later where he guesses he could try it out, and he does like how fast Aqua comes to his aid instead of him trying to will himself to get out of bed

💧 Vanitas also really likes cuddling with them all, whether it’s Aqua letting him his on her lap, or Terra full on bear hugging him, or Ventus laying with him and letting Vanitas hide in his arm

🪵 However, Vanitas likes initiating touch, and deems some reaching out as violence coming towards him (he’s working on it)

🍏 One of his favorite activities with all three of them is watching cartoons

💀 They have some of Aqua’s yummy sweets, and they all get to cuddle and watch Ruby Gloom <3 (one of his favorite little cartoons)

I think this point got a little lost amid the general fandom glee at Dominique and Vanitas bonding (or at least it did for me), but looking back at chapter 60, the implications that this scene has for Vanitas are fucking wild.

It's not the only aspect of her relationship with him, but a huge cornerstone of Dominique's feelings toward Noé is the fact of her absolutely massive crush on him. Like, as much as she's venting about how he frustrates her, Dominique's thoughts on Noé in this scene are the thoughts of a woman that is canonically in love with him. And Vanitas apparently thinks/feels the exact same way.

As their shared venting reaches its fever pitch, Vanitas and Dominique both reach the exact same ending point. Noé is stubborn and overly straightforward and unrelenting, and both of them feel helpless against it. And they say as much!

They say as much, and then they both cut themselves off and flinch away in the exact same way, as though they've said too much. They've revealed some deeper truth about their feelings and the ways that Noé's force of personality affects them.

Dominique reacts this way presumably because she touched a little too close to the reality of her romantic feelings for him. The thing cut off at the end of "Since he's like that, I—" is some expression of the depths of her incredible fondness for and attraction to him. And Vanitas apparently feels the exact same way as Dominique. He expresses almost the exact same outward sentiment and catches himself and flinches in the exact same way. So if Dominique is speaking here in (albeit frustrated) love, then what emotions is Vanitas speaking from?

I've been doing a lot of reading lately about the history of vampires in fiction and how the vampire as we know it today first entered literature, and the subject is honestly fascinating. The traditional folklore around vampires and vampire-like creatures is largely very different from what we'd think of as a vampire today, and it's also very different from how vampires appeared in even their earliest literary incarnations.

For one thing, there's nothing particularly alluring about most traditional vampires. They're bloated corpses that have crawled out of their graves, not dashing mysterious counts in lonely castles. They're not a particularly stylish or sexy monster.

However, from pretty much the moment that western literature first turned to the vampire myth for inspiration, writers saw something in the concept to sexualize. The poem "Der Vampir" (The Vampire) by Heinrich August Ossenfelder is often cited as the first ever true literary depiction of a vampire (published 1748!), and it is about a man corrupting a chaste and religious woman through his unwanted kiss/vampiric bite. John William Polidori's 1819 short story "The Vampyre" is widely seen as the first work to truly codify vampire fiction, and the titular Vampyre Ruthven is in large part inspired by the womanizing Lord Byron. Le Fanu's Carmilla depicts an intense attraction between Carmilla and her victim Laura. Stoker's Count Dracula is a man with overly flushed lips and hair on his palms, marks of Victorian fears of sexuality.

From the very start, vampires in literature have been a sexual monster. They're emblems of the seductive and terrible—the kiss of death that you can't help but be drawn to anyway. A violent forced intimacy that will corrupt you and drain away your very life force. There's a great deal of xenophobia and fear of the un-christian in early vampire fiction as well, but the fear of sex and sexual assault have always been a driver of literary vampires' horror and allure. Writers seem eternally split between desire for the vampire and revulsion at that very lust, even from the moments that the creatures first graced the page.

There's a great tradition of vampiric fiction both using vampirism to evoke sexual predators and making vampires themselves desirably sexy. Thus, given that it is very concerned with sexual assault and bodily autonomy as themes, often uses predation by a vampire to evoke sexual violence, and is deeply horny about vampires and blood drinking, Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas is actually one of if not the best modern successor to the canon of early vampire literature. Found Blue Moon Ice Cream in a store and I 404'd on the spot

Apparently it's a mystical ice cream that tastes like vanilla and marshmallow, but Wikipedia isn't even sure about that so huh ??

Also the wiki page says that there's different brands claiming that their blue moon ice cream is the real one what is this mystery

All I need to know is that Luna definitely reincarnated into the real world to make this and Vanitas would hate this ice cream for so many reasons (it's cold, it (apparently) tastes sickeningly sweet, it has blue moon in the name, etc, etc...)

CG Ventus w/ Regressor Vanitas Hcs

🍏 Once they get past the whole “You sure your still not evil?” “I already said yes, idiot.” “. . . You sure sure?” phase, these two are actually very close, both big and little

💀 Ventus becomes Vanitas’s main CG, that’s his ‘brother’ after all!!

🍏 Vanitas is a baby bat all the way, this man doesn’t do bright colors or such while small

💀 Speaking of him being a baby batt, Ventus got Vanitas his first regression item!! It’s a sippy cup with black wings on it

🍏 He gave it to Vanitas when Vanitas was already small, because he knew big Vanitas would make a big fuss about it, and it was definitely the right call

💀 Vanitas gave Ventus a small thank you and had a death grip on it for the rest of the day, even when it was empty, it’s his now, no one else gets to touch it

🍏 Surprisingly, Vanitas isn’t necessarily a brat

💀 If Ventus says no to something, he’ll huff and pout, but he won’t scream or hit, he just gets really upset and sulks

🍏 Now, he’ll scream and yell when he’s big, which most times ends up with him regressing small and teary-eyed, but Ventus knows how to handle these types of meltdowns

💀 Putting his foot down, but also soft words and asking if Vanitas needs some alone time, which Vanitas most times takes

🍏 When Vantias hesitantly comes back to Ventus, now small and upset about his actions, Ventus just scoops him up and tells him that no, he shouldn’t have yelled like that, but everythings okay now

💀 This doesn’t mean he isn’t a sassy little though

🍏 Ventus said no to more candy? Well he’s not going to like it!! >:( . . . But an eye roll and laying on the ground for five minutes will eventually change his mood

💀 I spoke a lot about Vanitas going to Terra and Aqua about nightmares, but I think Vanitas would also mainly go to Ventus, especially when he’s small

🍏 Sometimes Ventus will wake up to a teary-eyed toddler, other times he’ll wake up to Vanitas leaning over his bed (especially when he gives Vanitas his room key)

💀 Either way, Ventus will cuddle his baby until Vanitas falls asleep (and then talk about it in the morning)

🍏 Vanitas adores wrestling!! It’s so fun!! :D

💀 But, uh, he’s a little bit rough with wrestling, not using his strength correctly

🍏 He mainly regresses for comfort, and most times on the verge of breaking down (Ventus is working on it with him, he’s getting better)

💀 So activities like watching tv, or coloring, cuddles, those are his main go-to’s

🍏 Although if he’s a bit happier while small, maybe he’ll indulge in a game of tag (and act like he hates it, but Ventus knows otherwise)

💀 Vanitas just wants to read a small sory (by shoving it into Ventus’s chest and blinking at him), well he could put on some soft background music and make it the best storytime yet!!

🍏 Ventus is helping Vanitas with a lot of things, like asking for stuff politely, or encouraging him to ask for help when he needs it

💀 Most times Ventus only knows Vanitas is small because he gets a upset toddler at his bedroom door

🍏 But sometimes Vanitas will ask for some small time, and Ventus tries very hard to make sure he has a fun time

💀 Ventus’s CG nicknames are Bubba and Ven-Ven (mostly just Ven, but tiny tiny Vanitas finds Ven-Ven funny)

💀 Ventus regresses from about 2-6, mostly a toddler headspace

🍏 It takes time for Vanitas to take a CG role, but he does make a pretty decent babysitter

💀 . . . Oh, did I say pretty decent? I mean he lets Regressors cause CHAOS (unless it effects him)

🍏 Except, Ventus is a pretty ‘good’ little, and doesn’t enjoy getting in trouble (Terra or Aqua always end up catching them in the end anyhow)

💀 He will push some rule boundries or ask why and whine and pout if you say no though

🍏 Vanitas tries really hard not to snap at Ventus when he gets all whiney, and he’s done a great job every time

💀 The main reason Vantas became a CG for Ventus is because little Ventus would cling to him, or play nearby him, or just ask to sit beside him

🍏 Ventus is a very clingy little, and Vanitas wll let him snuggle to his side

💀 Plus . . . he actually really likes hanging out with Ventus, and he enjoys watching him while he’s small (You didn’t hear anything though!!)

🍏 Ventus has many favorite little activities!! But his all time favorite is coloring

💀 The problem is where he colors . . .

🍏 Papers good! Coloring books are good! But walls and floors and tables also look just like canvasas!! :D

💀 He’ll try to push the boundries time and time again, but no one lets him get his way :( (Especially Aqua!!)

🍏 However . . . Vanitas has no idea why there’s a kitty cat and a flower on the wall in marker, he defiently didn’t see anything

💀 At first Ventus was iffy about Vantias’s Unvirse, but now they’re his playmates

🍏 Vanitas acts likes it’s a big deal summoning them, but it actually helps him too (the universe are suppose to be his bad or negative feeligns in the games and manga? Which is why it hurts him when theyre killed) (<-- Tell me if I’m inncorrect though!!)

💀 Ventus’s favorite is the Hareraiser (it’s my favorite), and Vanitas likes them too, they’ve very content with sitting on one of their laps and being treated like a stuffie

🍏 Although Ventus likes normal Floods too!! They’re great to play hide and seek with!! (even if they cheat >:\)

💀 Ventus likes games like tag or hide and seek, but Vanitas rarely lets him win :(

🍏 If it’s tag, he’ll run a bit too fast!! Or he’ll have a secret secret (almost impossible) hiding place

💀 It makes Ventus super upset, so Vanitas eventually lets his pride go and lets his baby win, he’s not terribly mean to regressors on purpose, or tries not to be

🍏 Ventus’s favorite stuffie is this froggie stuffie he owns, and only a few people are allowed to touch it

💀 Vanitas made fun of it once, and got sent to time out before of how upset Ventus was because of it (Big Vanitas doesn’t do timeouts . . . but he did that one time with little complaint)

🍏 As an apology, Vanitas got Ventus one of those froggie bucket hats so he could be like his froggie, and Ventus adores it!!

💀 Ventus will share his snacks with Vanitas, and now Vanitas really likes rainbow goldfish (one of Ventus’s main little snacks)

🍏 Vanitas’s CG nicknames are Vani (Vanny) and maybe Dada when Ventus is more on the tiny side? More leaning on Vani though

💀 Ventus’s little nicknames are Baby Boy, Venty-Wenty (when Vanitas is being mean), Squirt, Little Guy

🍏 ^ Vanitas is still getting use to calling Ventus nicknames though, so Venty and Little Guy is a big one

💀 Ventus loves going to other universes while small!! But only those who know he’s small, he's not super open about his regression either and would rather it stay a secret

🍏 Like some of the Princesses!! He adores making flower crowns with Snow White, and Vanitas is there to get the dwarfs to back off

💀 Vanitas did not cry when Ventus made him a flower crown, stop making up lies 🙄 (. . . One of y’alls a lier)

🍏 Ventus adores going to Disney Town while small

💀 There’s a bunch of cool games and stuff to do!!

I actually love the idea of their friendship. 🥺

Like, the only reason I said Terra accepted Vanitas first was because I adore Terra. And he had the least interaction with Vanitas, and he's an extension of Ven, so there has to be some light in him.

Ventus and Aqua could totally work too!! For Ventus, that's his other half, why does he not deserve the chance and life he got? For Aqua, she was stuck in darkness for almost ten years, she knows how it is to suffer.
