1) Imagine if Roland learned the truth about Gevaudan. What REALLY happened last time (he just knew that Vanitas was going to heal a vampire). And he suspected that the church wanted to hide something.
And this truth is that the church has done a horrible vampires hunt, killed a lot of innocents, for "destroy the vampires". And that they have maybe killed more humans for cover their acts, and blamed the vampires for that.
(I bet that only the first victim was really a vampire, all the others wasn't, and maybe some were dhams).
I think that Roland would be furious.
First because a LOT of innocents are dead (and he's probably against unnecessary killing. maybe that why he doesn't get along with Astolfo anymore. Because this boy sees him as too soft?), and that a lot have been tortured too, some are dead in a very horrible ways.
And he would be also angry because his views of vampires has changed : they are persons now (even if he was still ready to kill Chloé if she couldn't be saved). He would see who was really wrong here.
And indeed he wouldn't like it.
Indeed he would be angry.
The church has killed more than 100 people for cover their crimes and blamed a innocent for that.
2) I really think that the second picture implies that Roland could change sides at a point.
Or the church will betray him because he will get too close of some dangerous truths (that he will not like, not at all). He's already in bad term with (doesn't like) the chasseurs who want the extermination of all vampires. And one of them (Gano, right?) doesn't like him.

“I think that there are high chances than Roland give his blood to Noé, out of friendship, at a point of the manga. It would be very symbolic for a chasseur to do that on his free will for a vampire.“

They are so much alike XD
Really that’s no wonder that they become friends.
Two cinnamon rolls who become excited/distracted when they see things that interests them. XD
(It's not that they don’t have any orientation skills, it's that they are just very easily distracted)
(and so they get lost)
Seriously, I already told it BUT one day (in a universe or chapters 50/51 still not happened), they’ll both be “lost” and Oliver (or Maria) and Vanitas will found them eating tarte tatin together in some cafe, speaking about the best spots in Paris. (because they would have meet each other after have been both....distracted XD)

“I never did like that guy”
People speaking about Roland, thinking that he deserted and one of them says that he never liked him. (in fact he was just late to return to the catacombs)
Concedering his evolution since he meets Noé and Vanitas
Becoming friend with a being that he is trained to kill? Check
Oliver saying that Roland will have big problems about it if the church learns it? Check
Oliver saying that Roland believes only in what he think/wants to belive himself? That he doesn't follow blindly the church? Check
Oliver saying to Roland that his family could be harmed if he continues to believe that the vampires could get along with humans? Check
And the fact that Roland doesn't deny and “feels forced” to threaten Olivier, proving that it's truth that his family could be punished for his actions and that he 100% aware of that? Check
And in the Gevaudan Arc, at the end, we see 2 things
1) One of the Chasseurs is on Ruthven’s side (so he is a traitor, like Ruthven is a traitor to vampires, apparently)
2) This particular Chasseurs ( Gano ) is aware of Roland’s suspicions (and doesn’t like him)
He also probably aware of what happened in the catacombs. So that:
- Roland let a vampire (who has already messed up with Ruthven's plans) goes out of the catacombs alive, with the guy (Vanitas) that the church searches since some days (weeks?).
- Roland helped to destroy Moreau’s lab, which has also messed up with Ruthven's plans, even if all has not been lost.
- Roland searches things since these events. And that he has certainly some suspicions. And that he is aware that something is fishy.
So I think that Gano will act soon if Roland still searches informations and/or if he comes too closes of the truth. Maybe even in the next arc (after all the heartbreaking drama between Noe and Vani).

I was wondering if Noé could bite someone else than Vanitas (because it’s obvious than he’ll chomp Vani at a point), I mean “Could Noe bittes another human than Vanitas, before or after Vanitas?”
and the answer? Yes
Who? Well. Roland
It’s Very likely, and it would be a nice symbolic to see a chasseur/vampire hunter giving his blood to a friend vampire for save him.)
Also we doesn't know his past yet, just that he has stil his family, so it’s probably not as much traumatic than for some other chasseurs. We also know that Olivier is his best friend. But that’s almost all.
And since Noé and Roland are friends and like each other, the bite shouldn’t be painful for Roland. (probably a lot more pleasant than the two first times where Vanitas offered his blood to Jeanne)
It would even be a interessant contraste to Jeanne and Vanitas, without the “romance” with Roland offering genuinely his blood, without any trick like Vanitas did to Jeanne.
I don’t see Noé leaving a mark on Roland except by accident (even if it would be hilarous to see Olivier Reaction XD) but a such deal between them would be super interessant, seen they both come from ennemies factions.

Olivier is just the best friend. Roland tells him he befriended a vampire which is basically treason to the church. Instead of telling others like he should, he decides to keep it a secret and protect Roland.

“Yohan and Dante raises the theory that someone would have try to make everyone(Vanitas, Noé, Dante, Yohan etc…) assemble (in Gevaudan), which seems to be confirmed by Gano’s intervention 2 cases later. But I wonder if it was planned by the latter that Astolfo accompany him and that he loses control to distract Roland when the latter arrives. Or just to distract Vanitas’s group because were Roland and Olivier even supposed to go to Gevaudan initially?
What makes me think that the presence of astolfo was necessary in order to distract Roland (if it was planned he’ll show up) is that Gano speaks directly of Roland after mentioning the role of Astolfo in the recovery of the machine core. In addition, the case where we are shown Roland in Gano’s mind has been modified to show us a much more serious Roland. Does this image come from a time when Roland had an argument with Astolfo but Gano understood that Roland was taking care of Astolfo and would watch him at the expense of his distrust of Gano. Or is it just a way to show the rivalry between Gano and Roland.“

"Something else stunned me, and I haven’t seen anyone talk about it. It’s Roland’s speech about Vanitas in chapter 44: “Vanitas … he seems terribly shaky, I suppose … it feels as though, the moment I take my eyes off him he’ll shatter to pieces … I just can’t leave that alone ”.
I’m sorry but this quote fits exactly with Astolfo. Roland left my boy for 3 days in Gevaudan and he ended up overdosing, remembered traumas from his past (well that’s Naenia’s fault) and Roland picked him up covered in his own blood and exhausted. Many parallels are drawn between Astolfo and Vanitas but I wonder if Roland also made connections. I wonder if that explains why he has taken a liking to Vanitas besides knowing his past and why he is so eager to help him because he has failed a bit with Astolfo. But then I also wonder why he does not treat or stop treating astolfo as he does with Vanitas. After that we don’t really know what their interactions look like because we have too few, so maybe he still acts this way toward him.”
