Yandere jock with a super sweet, nerd/geek darling? Like, after they become friends, invited Yandere jock to movie nights with them? Just binge watching their latest obsessed show or movie series with them? I feel like spending hours alone with their darling isn’t something he’s going to pass up.

Yandere jock would daydream in all of his classes after you asked him to come over for a movie night. He’d accidentally ignore his friends questions and sit there dazed with the thought of being in your house.

He’d run over to your last class to pick you up, even asking his teacher if he could leave 5 minutes early so when he made it over to your classroom, he would already be there when the bell rang.

“Ethan! You’re already here?” You looked surprised to see his big frame right in the hallway that was filled with people.

“Yup! Let’s go now. I’m so excited to see the movie” He grabbed your hand and started guiding you through the crowd. “What if I sleep over even after the movie?”

“You wanna stay even after?” You looked up at him now that the two of you were in the students parking lot. He knew where his car was so you were just following him.

“Yeah! So then we could have a sleepover y’know? If not then it’s fine, I’m not gonna die or anything” He was going to die if you rejected him. He’d wanted to spend more time with you, he was being greedy but he really liked you.

He liked you enough to watch over you during lunch while his jockey friends got excited about uninteresting things like cheerleaders or some girl they’re talking to. He was originally the same, breaking girls hearts when they didn’t interest him but now he was obsessed you.

Maybe a little too obsessed if he was befriending you, making sure you got home safe everyday, buying you things when you slightly hinted at liking something, and doing anything that would please you. A little stalking here and there too but nobody had to know that part!

“Sure, It’s the weekend so you can stick around for a little while longer” You opened his car door, hopping in like a regular passenger. He couldn’t hold his happiness and had a big dumb smile on his face.

It must’ve been the speeding that got the two of you home so quick or the sheer excitement that was held behind the wheel, either way the two of you made it to your house quickly and you were already setting up the snacks.

He was busy getting the couch comfy and you were taking out popcorn from the microwave, dumping it into a huge bowl. He made sure to steal the comfiest pillows off your bed as you requested. After he was done he helped pour two glasses of juice and brought them to the couch.

You sat down, placing the huge bowl of popcorn on the table while you got comfortable. It was a little chilly so it was the perfect temperature to unintentionally snuggle against Ethan. If it weren’t for the movie playing he’d truly believe you could hear his heart beating out of his chest.

While you were rambling about the movie he could feel your arm wrap around his, you were so close to him he didn’t believe he could handle it anymore. Until you distracted him by pointing out a theory. He probably would’ve died by the sheer embarrassment if you didn’t.

“So that’s why people think she actually did it and not her” You pointed towards the characters that you were mentioning. He luckily listened to the theory while he was panicking.

“But what’s about him, don’t you think he could’ve killed her too?” He didn’t point at the screen but instead look at you expecting your response.

“Hmm, I don’t think he did it because he was at that party cheating on the other girl” You shivered feeling the cold air when you moved. He noticed and brought you closer, basically in his lap. Your cheeks reddened but you continued on.

Ethan just nodded and listened to your every word, even asking some questions wondering about the movie. It ended swiftly with all the talking that went back and worth. He was glad that he asked to stay over because time with you was precious to him.

“I don’t have a sleeping bag or anything so is the couch alright? I’ll leave you with all the pillows we brought and the blanket” You started cleaning up the table while you spoke, finding it easier to do it now than tomorrow.

“Yeah! I’m good don’t worry” He dutifully grabbed the empty glasses and placed them in the sink.

“Alright, if you need anything just knock” You thought the whole hangout was fun, you wished it went on a little while longer but maybe he would stay tomorrow morning for breakfast!

“Thanks for everything” He smiled, relishing in the fact that you were so sweet to him even with how the two of you met. “It’s no problem! I had lots of fun today” You looked up at him with a pleasant smile.

“No I mean like.. thanks for forgiving me and stuff. I wasn’t nice to you at all and you still wanted to be friends so I wanted to say thank you” He sighed finally getting it off his chest, he had been meaning to thank you for awhile now but never got the chance to bring it up.

“It just matters that you’re nice now and.. your friendship means a lot to me so I’m glad you turned out to be a good guy” You hugged him, feeling his arms wrap around you after a few moments.

“Fuck I love you” Ethan mumbled, greedily bathing in your warmth that you so kindly offered to him. He loves you so much and yet he can still feel himself falling more in love with you. He’d take his whole heart out and offer it to you on a silver platter if you asked.

“Hm? What’d you say?” You looked up at him after the two of you stopped the long embrace, his expression was soft but then hastily turned into a panicked one.

“Wha- nothing! I was just saying thanks! Anyways I’m sleepy, I’m gonna go to bed now!” He pat your head and jumped right into the comfort of the couch. You found it funny how fast he tucked himself but didn’t question it. You went to bed after that and had a lengthy dream about him, the same way he dreamed about you.

Reasons I think the dragon riders are autistic:

(This was written out of order over the course of several days)

Hiccup

• His interest in dragons. Multiple people literally say “his life is dragons”. I don’t think I need to expand on this point any more

• His deal with emotions - the way it seems to me is that unless he’s very happy or genuinely angry, he doesn’t really emote much? His voice isn’t necessarily monotone but he’s very same-y (in more than just tone - also body language and stuff) almost always aside from when incredibly gleeful (e.g. riding toothless) or very angry (literally any moment where he ends up yelling at the others)

• On a similar note, there’s several times (especially in rtte) where it looks like he’s about to scold someone and then he doesn’t (in a kinda emotions/expressions not lining up with his actual thoughts and stuff way). Now, this doesn’t sound much here but an example is in the dramillion episode near the end of the ep so that kinda gives you a better idea of what I mean yknow?

• Also his massive interest in inventing, another pretty damn important thing in his life that he’s very good at, to say the least. • Another thing with emotions - he’s pretty easy to manipulate. Which sounds so horrible to put but I mean it in like, his emotions specifically are kinda easy to manipulate and especially his empathy. They’re often used against him

• He notices details and you know how he constantly tells the twins they’re geniuses after something they say reminds him of a completely unrelated point? Yeah idk how to explain it but that’s autism, baby

Astrid

• Stubborn - it takes a lot to change her views of opinions

• Fully believes there are right and wrong ways of doing things (and usually believes those ways are the more traditional ways that she’s used to)

• Idk if there’s even proof of this but I am dead certain she sticks to her rules almost all times. She doesn’t care about other peoples rules but despite that often has very strict views on how to do things which I think is why I believe this. She also hates going off-plan and that doesn’t rlly mean anything here but that probably adds to why I’m so sure she likes rules

• Again no proof of this but she seems like the type to be very particular about her daily routine. If she decides to switch it up once she now gonna keep that for months. You can ignore this point but this is something I wholeheartedly believe.

• The vibes

Fishlegs

• He’s honestly the only character who might have actually been written as autistic (but also may not have been and instead be written as a nerd, but obviously that trope alone just makes him autistic by default)

• Same as hiccup, huge huge interest in dragons. No need to elaborate here

• Very empathetic, many autistic people experience either notably low empathy or high empathy. Fishlegs very clearly is on the high side

• Also can I just say I love how on berk he was a guide and he taught kids all about berks history and dragons and shit like that like hell yeah making your special interest your job, good for him honestly

• I just watched legend of the boneknapper and I just noticed fishlegs talks with his hands a lot and makes a bunch of gestures while talking which I am absolutely counting here cause i want to

Snotlout

• Hand gestures. Like all the time. And a lot of the same ones. And I’ve got no clue if that actually is prevalent in autism or whatever but personal experience (I.e. me and my friends) suggest so + I relate so I’m counting it

• Gonna sound dumb, but “shut up, [name]” and just common phrases he repeats. • On that note: he yells his own name frequently (typically while doing something cool or when annoyed or etc. emotional reasons) and I interpret that as kinda a stim, helping with emotions type deal yknow? • Again related to that, ‘Snotlout Snotlout oi oi oi’ (copied from spitelouts own version) is absolutely a vocal stim, and while I’m like 80% sure copying vocal patterns and phrases from the people around you is a thing everyone does, I’m still counting it anyway • Very big emotions/kinda dramatic. Idk how to phrase this but at any given point it is very clear what Snotlouts emotions are - and I know a lot of autistic folk (myself included) are generally quite monotone or struggle with expressing emotion outwardly, but this feels right so again counting it. + exaggerating emotions is a thing I do all the time to make things more obvious

• Hate to say this one but just the general way he treats people - he often doesn’t notice the way people react and he just continues with his (often pretty shit) treatment of them, can be seen in the unwanted advancements towards Astrid Heather etc and how certainly initially he didn’t rlly seem to get the message

• To put the last point more clearly: this boy has the absolute worst social skills and has no idea about that

• He doesn’t always get when people are making fun of him or being sarcastic

• I mention this with Tuffnut as well, but Snotlouts also pretty sarcastic even tho he doesn’t always get other peoples sarcasm

• He’s pretty blunt. Or he confuses himself with his own words. That’s pretty much the two sides of Snotlout’s speech patterns

• he’s my favourite character <3

Ruffnut

• Her whole deal with violence, particularly in rob/dob - I don’t know how to describe it but something about that

• Her and Tuffnut both get like random interests and they know loads about it or otherwise devote a lot of time to it - e.g. science when they were sick with eel pox, theatre in Total Nightmare, other examples I’m sure but I can’t remember rn. It just reminds me of myself and hyperfixations I get

• She doesn’t really care to change how she acts around different people; regardless of whether she’s been captured by enemies, is being scolded by Hiccup or is setting up a prank with tuffnut, she’s always the same.

• On that note, she’s often pretty blunt. Like unless she’s talkin fancy deliberately or trying to trick someone shes usually pretty clear and doesn’t usually change how she acts or speaks to make others feel better. • Yknow how her and Tuffnut were all like “woah maybe we did something… right? […] what’s this feeling is this accomplishment? I’ve never felt this before” and stuff that one time? I know it’s played off as a joke, but I’m diagnosing that with same <3

• Mirroring speech (see briefly in tuffnuts section)

Tuffnut

• Similar thing with violence

• Same as the hyperfixations thing I mentioned with Ruffnut, and just know there are plenty of things they say that I attribute to past hyperfixations

• Several occasions where he doesn’t get sarcasm

• He is pretty sarcastic tho despite that, same with Snotlout and that is something I feel is quite common - not really getting other peoples jokes or sarcasm but doing so yourself a lot

• His speech is very reminiscent of my own, he talks kinda overly fancy and deliberate most of the time (but there are also occasions where he’s almost overly casual? Which again is very relatable to me. I am now realising I may or may not have accidentally stolen tuffnuts speech patterns as a kid)

• (To the last point ignoring the part at the end) Ruffnut is also similar in this respect (as in the deliberate kinda overly wordy talk) but usually to a lesser extent - in fact, she normally only speaks like that when tuffnut is also there and speaking in such way, which to me absolutely seems like mirroring

• Similarly to the sarcasm thing, he doesn’t get rhetorical questions. Or at the very least doesn’t get them in that one episode in rtte and that’s enough for me to count it here

To be clear, at the end of the day, I see them all as autistic mostly cause I relate to and connect with the characters. And I do not know how to put that into words clearly so here’s this mess of a compilation.

I deleted your comment because it made me so mad, but I need to explain why so you don't keep doing this. You shouldn't make queer characters straight, but it's fine to make straight characters queer because they are not a marginalised group. They are not an underrepresented group. HC-ing straight people queer is not the same as HC-ing ace people allosexual. Asexual people are ridiculed and ignored within their own community, so when we get canon representation, that needs to be respected. When the media is as saturated with ace rep as it is straight rep, we can revisit this conversation, but until then if you like the dynamic of two characters there's no reason why you can't take that and make something new with it. You don't need to erase ace characters in the process. Hope this helps

That’s a dumb thing to think, and I think you know it. Characters from marginalised groups requiring protectionist double standards I mean. They’re fictional characters, they exist to entertain. They aren’t real or worth protecting, no matter what their sexual orientation or lack there of is. I literally kill my OCs in the name of fetishisation on my blog. You don’t protect fictional characters, they’re tools, they exist to be used and exploited no matter who they represent.

That’s not even getting into the fact that you aren’t even talking about media representation, you’re talking about fanfiction. A niche close knit form of media that the majority of people will never even see. If you’re trying to influence how others think on a societal or systemic level, fanfiction is a laughable way to do it. You can’t dictate how an audience reacts to a character. You can’t control who people will ship with who or what they write about. Fanfiction is a hobby, it’s done for fun, out of dedication and passion. You should be grateful that people like the same characters you like and the same stories you like enough to want to invent new stories for them, being picky about those stories in an artistic sense is fine, but pretending it’s a question of morality? That’s just self-righteous. It’s just bossing people around and shaming them cause you think you know better.

I ship Gale X Astarion X Tav even though Gale isn’t poly and Astarion has some definite sexual trauma in his past. I ship Yuugi/Atem even though Yuugi is canonically straight. I ship tons of other things that are not even remotely canon. It’s not wrong or evil it’s creative license and it’s fun.

I should clarify that the post they’re so mad about they deleted was me essentially saying: “I ship Yuugi/Yami no Yuugi, even though Yuugi is canonically into pussy, I’m not sparing the straights, so why would I spare the asexuals?” I forget the actual wording, I don’t think I mentioned pussy in so many words. So just think of this version as a slightly more crass and dramatic reenactment.

Anyway I don’t even feel offended by being deleted this time because I’m too taken back by the need of OP to correct my supposed bad behaviour.

I’mma be honest guys, while I told this person I would lance the sacred cow of canonical queerness. I don’t actually have that many fanfiction OTPs I can think of that are straight despite being canonically queer. (Does Pomni X Caine count? An AI could be assumed to be canonically asexual right? But then the Moon is implied to get frisky so…yeah I don’t think I can determine this with just a pilot episode)

So not only am I sex repulsed IRL and thus the last person who needs to be told that life is tough for folk on the ace spectrum but the supposed “horrible” thing this person NEEDS to stop me doing I’m not entirely sure I’ve actually done. (I’ve read ALOT of fanfiction in my life though so I could just be misremembering.)

If anyone’s wondering why I’m so passionate about this though. It’s cause I want to be a proper writer one day and fictional characters as tools to be exploited is an inalienable right for writers. Does this mean I think getting attached to or empathising with characters is bad if you’re a writer? Hell no! But you gotta treat them like Sims characters and drown them in the pool without a second thought. I like my Sims, I empathise with my Sims and I still wouldn’t fucking hesitate to murder them in cold blood. And THAT my friends is the ideal attitude we should all aspire to when writing.

Thank you so much! Yeah, we always loved giving characters a bit of a darker twist to their personalities, but honestly with the Tweels it’s way too natural and pretty much canon in a lot of ways lol We really really love this about them. When it comes to cruel, unfair, messed up and freaky scenarios, they’re the perfect fit. I’m glad you like it!

To answer your question, well these two are unpredictable, but in general I feel like they don’t like being touched. Or rather, they would prefer to be the ones who’s petting, because they’re annoying like that lol But who knows, sometimes they might even demand petting.

It starts with Ace and Deuce (I can't believe Ace was part of this and I didn't remember. RIP I him guess) brushing their teeth before lights out, Ace is done but Deuce reminds him of some insane rule like "You gotta brush twice on tuesdays" or something and Ace laughs it off, not like Riddle will know except Trey is there and tells them he won't tell Riddle if they do it right and does the mouth inspection. Deuce just gives a confued "Um??" while Ace calls him out like "That is NOT in the rulebook", it causes Trey to realise he's letting his Weirdness(tm) show and he explains that his siblings are young enough that playfully making sure they brushed properly is normal and he just kinda did it on instinct. Though Trey does offer to "help" the boys brush their teeth after that, it then ends with Trey "accidentally" doing another oral inspection on the boys and this time the noises/reactions they have doe imply he did something to their mouths ("Awough?!" reads more like the noise of something being put in your moth than a simple "Um" at least) so....

The more I look at Trey, the more “a psycho pervert who learned how to pretend to be a normal human being” sounds like something that could describe him lol Some people (like Ace or Vil) keep sensing that there is something sus about him, some people (like Rook or Idia) know for the fact that there is something wrong about him, and some people just think that he is a swell fellow that’s always very supportive and caring and wouldn’t do anything weird (like Deuce and Riddle) and I absolutely love it lol

The fact that Trey just kept going “oops sorry it’s a habit”, like is this that much of an automatic thing to you??

Okay so they said this :

They can't see that this universe rule is simply their assumption without any validation in canon. Heh. And apparently Hinata is also trans. Why? How? Himawari had physical characteristics that are similar to Hinata.

Hehehe. They can't digest the fact that Boruto and Himawari having whisker marks is just a design aspect so they can appear distinctly as Naruto's kids. That's literally it. No other reason. For Naruto, those marks were functional, as they would flare and darken when his kyuubi chakra leaked out. They served a design purpose in Naruto's story. They don't serve any purpose in Boruto. Boruto simply has them because he is Naruto's offspring whose design necessarily needs to look similar to Naruto. So he is instantly recognisable by the audience. That's really all. No mental gymnastics required.

These kids are playing make-believe stories for their heart's pleasure. They find themselves too het and vanilla in an increasingly complex world and so, they look for diversity where there isn't any. Can't follow a very gay love story for shit (wherein they ignore the story and major characters but glorify and overestimate their largely irrelevant and less than sidey fave character, a selfish and boring woman married to a gay man) but they can and will appropriate queer theories to feel better about themselves. Reassure themselves. They also want to be seen as woke and forward thinking. Lol. And they think appropriating important concepts without an iota of intelligence, objective thought or consideration is the way to do it. Won't acknowledge a very visibly canon and credible gay love story that makes this manga, but will surely pull their heads out of their asses to believe Hinata is queer and NH is special. Wow, so woke. So QuEeR. Lol silly lil hypocritical ones.

I think they are just little kids or young adults who want a little feel good hormones and I guess, just let them have fun? They will get it sooner or later. Including how to comprehend media. All sorts of eye openers around, they just gotta look for it, maybe have an epiphany. Lol. If they don't, it's their loss.

i’m rewatching 31 and i just remembered how the episode ends. nonononono…

and the episode is over 2 years old now wtf

edit 2: and immediately into The Scene.

edit 3: i now remember why, exactly, we wish Car Battery upon Prism. I feel like, although that’s far from being her introductory scene or anything, its her Defining Character Moment. and its scary scary scary!

edit 4: (im just gonna keep this editing screen open for now) “…after that, we see, in the back, Captain Quadratic comin’ in.” How much of that did he see. Like he acts like he didnt see it and, if he did see it, he didnt intervene, but he immediately tells them that the room is bugged and he did hear their conversation (and all of their conversations for the past few weeks) and then has immediately removed the memories. But like, i don’t think the room being bugged would even be brought up if Quad didnt hear the conversation.

He immediately goes “How are you?” when he comes in, and when Dani goes “I’m good. I’m good, I’m good. I’m good,” he goes “Hm. You said that multiple times!” And he changes the subject, but I’m pretty sure Quad has done that kind of probing-comment-on-people-being-suspicious-but-he-makes-it-sound-very-innocent-and-then-changes-the-subject before. Like, he did that when he was interviewing Heartbreak in #30, right? So how much does he know and recognize, but pretend to ignore?

Like, I wouldn’t be surprise, character-wise, if he got into the habit of observing people and events and making his own judgements, but then not acting on them and playing dumb, while he was in Order’s lab. I mean, if i was seeing unethical and suspicious things being done in front of me, and being complicit in them, all the time, I’d probably get used to noticing it but not really pushing against it, for self-preservation reasons. Idk.

edit 5: lmao. I have an English analysis essay I’m supposed to be doing but instead I’m procrastinating by going on tumblr and writing analysis essays.

edit 6: okay so Quad’s trait of knowingly delivering unwanted facts to volatile people and then pretending to be ignorant about what he’s doing is like my favorite character trait of theirs. Because immediately after that, he tells Dani and Prism that Spectrum is dying, and Prism goes “Like the service provider! The service provider, Spectrum!” and Quad basically goes “That’s true! The service provider Spectrum is garbage and dies often. Also, that seems to be the name of your master, who’s dying.” So yeah. I think I’m writing these notes more for me, to be conscious of what is happening, than to point out anything for anyone else. But I love Quad so much. They’re so smart.

Honestly this scene might be my favorite in CPUK. There’s so much happening, character-dynamic and characterization wise. I wish I knew how to make comics so I could make a comic of this scene.

oh my god, the amount of people i saw today that said “umm, actually, huntric is a proship because they’re stepbrothers!! aladarius is literally canon! stop shipping huntric plz, we have h/l for a reason” is. insane. i’m losing my mind at this point, why can’t some h/ls just accept that people can ship different things without it interfering with their own ship??? ALSO the way a looot of them say that aladarius is “basically canon” is so annoying to me, don’t get me wrong, i love the ship but it ISN’T CANON DAWG. Darius just blushed at Alador for like 2 seconds, how is that confirming their relationship 💀 don’t get me started on how they ignore that h/l was left ambiguous but insist it’s fully canon...... a sign i see in toh is how they make it abundantly clear that a ship is canon by making those characters date/get together or do something explicitly romantic, h/l?? the stuff they do is what affectionate friends do with each other 😭 or at least that’s how i personally interpret it. that group of h/l fans are the main reason why i feel so uncomfortable when someone mentions to me that they ship it, ik it sounds dumb but HHHHH I WISH I WAS KIDDING DUDE. so sorry for the caps and the rant </3 your blog makes me feel real safe and reminds me that i’m not alone when it comes to disliking h/l !! thank you for being the h/l hateline HSJXCH

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Hunt/lows will literally make up any fucking reason they can to call people that dislike their ship wrong/bad. Like, at least we aren't telling them something's wrong with them for shipping hunt/low, or that they can't ship it?? Like, unfortunately, yes they can ship whatever they like. That doesn't necessarily make it a good or compelling, or even non-toxic ship, but there isn't anything wrong with shipping it like with Lun/ter. Also, I mean, they clearly can't even accept the fact that their own ship isn't actually canon, are we expecting them to understand ala/darius isn't either? They're clearly incapable of reading situations where a relationship is being teased and not understanding that it does not mean they're canonically in a relationship- they've proved that over and over lmao. Like, yeah, I like ala/darius as much as the next guy! But unfortunately, all it was was teased in the show because it's a popular ship and that's what shows do. Same as Hunt/low. Both were left ambiguous on purpose because it's good writing. It keeps both sides of the fandom happy- or at least, it's supposed to. The Owl House really did have a habit of making canon relationships very explicitly canon because the representation those actual canon ships served was important. The canon relationships also had actual weight on the storyline and plot, whereas neither of those ships did, so of course they would be left ambiguous. TOH made a point to make sure you knew when characters were romantically together, with kissing an words, where everything Hunter and Willow have done in canon has been very platonic implied, which I can only take to be intentional like the rest of the show. Anyone obsessed with a m/f ship is incapable of realizing this, apparently.

(Last Anon) Definitely agree, I think I saw an old post that said Blossom seems to be the favourite/popular depending on which side of the fandom you’re in.

VSB seems to be the more casual/animation fans’ least favorite episode, they usually put it on the same level as the worst episodes from season 5/6 (the audacity! Lol) Blossom is usually ranked the least favorite, I guess it goes to show that they don’t understand her character at all or refused to accept her as anything but flawless. Also yeah, never understand why Town n Out is up there too, honestly it does felt like these people don’t understand the show they’re watching and claimed to love so much.

It actually never occurred to me that she’s a bad liar, since all 3 Girls are pure and good I thought its a trait they all share, but I guess Blossom would probably have a hard time with it than her sisters. I think she’d be smart in deflecting and not telling the whole truth but also not lying either technically.

I think I’m just dreading for all the weird tweets Craig’s going to receive when the reboot comes when those fans sees their favorite characters not act or act in a way that doesn’t fit their headcanons. Lots of super weird takes on twitter about “buttercup would hate this” or “bubbles wouldn’t do that” etc etc they only know the flanderized version of these characters, its almost like how the reboot2016 sees them…

Re: not understanding Blossom, I’ve known people who told me she’s their favorite character because she’s an unfeeling, uncaring killing machine who doesn’t let emotions get in her way (???) and others who’ve said they love Blossom for her docility and strong emotions and susceptibility to fall for evil (also ???). Legitimately bad takes about Blossom are weirdly common. I don’t get it! She’s so awesome but there’s so much rampant mischaracterization from fans with her (even the reboot basically just made her Lisa Simpson and added that unfortunate character I think all of us don’t want to talk about as an unnecessary love interest, sheesh…).

And yeah, Blossom’s definitely the most goody-goody of the three girls, and sometimes to a fault. I always think of her in Fallen Arches where she sticks soooo hard to what she strongly feels is morally correct to the point where a bunch of elderly people end up beating each other up and have to go to the hospital. And Bubbles and Buttercup are pissed after telling her how dumb of an idea it was the whole episode. 🤣 Or when she (initially) refused to use her ice breath power to save Townsville because she didn’t want to break the vow she’d made to never use it again while her sisters were frantically trying to tell her why it was okay to use when a freaking meteor was headed towards the town. Her sisters don’t normally have those same reservations she does despite also being good kids. I think all that stuff (plus the bad lying lol) all stems back to her pride and her desire to be the most perfect and goodest good-doer who ever did good. …and again, haha, I love that and it’s entertaining to watch when she struggles with stuff like that.

To be fair, if any of the more out there asks I’ve gotten over the years (especially the ones asking me to pass along stuff to Craig) have taught me, I think he’s already gotten enough weird messages about the PPG and seen enough wild takes to last a lifetime. 🤣 I mean, people were angrily messaging him about the 2016 reboot and that he needed to change it STAT. Someone will find something to complain directly to him about and I’m sure it will more or less be ignored.

First, thank you @crotchety-old-emu for tagging me, it was kind of you, and I had fun doing this!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

49, admittedly quite a few unfinished. I’m hoping now that I’m older and on a better roll with finishing I’ll go back to some… eventually. This is not including old stuff from FFN and LJ that just either wouldn’t go well on AO3 Or don’t have fandoms to speak of anymore.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Currently Bridgerton. But done Harry Potter, Sense8, The Old Guard, The Little Mermaid (Live Action. Jonah and Halle were precious, ok???), Doctor Who, Julie and the Phantoms, Narnia, Avengers… waaaaaay back on LJ I did some KPOP fandoms and WAAAAAAYYY back on FFN I write for InuYasha, Merlin, Prince of Tennis. Like, I was YOUNG. It was a time. 😆

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1. no matter the years (my heart is yours) - Bridgerton Reverse Harem. Penelope with Anthony and Benedict and eventually Colin, but it’s hidden because it’s still set in the Regency. No incest, just good old polyandry. While admittedly the smut scenes are explicit, it had a lot more emotional heart than even I originally planned.

2. Bathymetry of the Heart - Little Mermaid Live Action, telling of Eric/Ariel after they’re reunited. Just emotional fluff.

3. some of it’s transcendental (some of it’s just really dumb) - Bridgerton, Benelope story. Basically season 3 ish if it became Benelope. I had a vision of what I wanted, no one else had written it so I just… did it myself. It is also very sweet and more emotion than what I originally intended. Not as much smut as I thought.

3. Curiosities - continuation of the first Ariel/Eric.

4. Proud of Your Boy - Same as above

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try very hard to respond. I don’t always get to them, but I try to even to those that are just a heart or something. I only don’t respond to outright mean comments. Better to just ignore.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

One that was a one-shot from forever ago, a super weird crossover to. It was soon after the avengers movie came out and it was a crossover with Doctor Who, and Steve fell for River Song but he would never tell her cause she so obviously love the Doctor. Don’t judge me! Honestly it’s a one-shot series called “i defy you stars.”

7. What’s the fic you wrote eith the happiest ending?

Most of them, I’m not good with writing sad endings. ANGSTY middles yeah, but not endings most of the time.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

For sure! Mostly on my reverse harem, the ABC+P one. People though I didn’t like Colin for how his character was treated and ended up, and that’s not it at all. Colin was just in a completely different place from his brothers, and in my head even past the story I wrote he grows more and fits into the family created beautifully and maturely, eventually staying home full time. But I didn’t have enough space in that narrative to tell that so it didn’t come off well to most people.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! I didn’t used to, I used to be very uncomfortable with it. But I wanted something specific in order to tell the story and it just… happened? Now I’ve become a heathen and gotten slightly more kinky with it. 😆

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yup, see above. The Avengers and Doctor Who one for sure.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I know of/remember.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not in the sense of splitting the writing but definitely in terms of plot planning!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I can’t pick one, I’m sorry. I’m Bridgerton right now it’s Benelope (let me be clear I LOVE Benophie and Polin! I’m just a crackship girly by nature). HP it’s Fremione or Dramione. The Old Guard It’s Nicky/Joe. There’s a lot more I’m forgetting.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Probably Pick Your Poison, a Dramione fic where Hermione enters an underground ring that’s like Russian roulette but with poisons. I liked the idea.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Oof um… I’m tough on myself. That’s hard. Can I say “ideas”? Im great at developing plot points and stories, maybe even character reflections.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Details that aren’t what the characters are doing. I focus too much on body movement and not what else is going around that could tell the story.

Oh, and commas are my enemy.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Limited personally. If the character knows another language I do my best to research it, but otherwise I avoid.

19. First fandom you write for?

InuYasha on FFN.

20. Favorite fics you’ve written?

Probably some of it’s transcendental (some of it’s just really dumb) because I proved to myself writing that gif I could write a chartered story to completion, and with writing I was proud of.

A Claire's and a Hot Topic Walk Into a Bar (They Leave Immediately Because They're Both Underage)

Summary: The new kid's all sorts of confusing, to Amitie. They're perfectly capable of a normal conversation, hell, he's even usually rather nice, if a little prone to spacing out and, incidentally, ignoring people. But he's also got a tendency to start fights, and he's always trying to goad Amitie into one. She can't understand why he's sending her all these mixed signals-

-And he just can't understand why she won't play with him.

(made for the au in this post)

Characters: Red!Sig, Amitie, Raffina, Klug, Arle Nadja(mentioned)

Warnings: Swearing, implied past bullying and manipulation, miscommunication

Word count: 3321

Amitie's not completely sure she believes Raffina when she claims that Sig's not really all that mean. She trusts her friend's judgement, of course! It's just, well, personal experience claims otherwise.

By no means does she hate him! Amitie finds it... Difficult, to really find enough anger towards any one person to hate anyone. But he sends her an awful lot of mixed messages and she feels like he's toying with her at this point.

He's plenty nice- when he feels like it. It's not like Raffina where all her insults are made either in jest or because she's trying to get her to do... whatever rivals are supposed to do. He'll be nice, and then he'll get mean, and then he'll ask her if she "wants to take this outside," and Amitie's dumb but she's not stupid. She knows he's looking for a fight.

And she'll tell him no, thanks, they can Puyo battle inside just fine, and he'll grumble because that's not the kind of fight he wanted, but he'll do it anyways. If nothing else, he calms down a little afterward whether he wins or loses, but he still seems irritated over something regardless.

Well, admittedly, she's pretty sure that's just his face. Even when he's doing something he actively enjoys he manages to look a little annoyed. So, she can't actually be too sure on that front.

Either way! Would it kill the guy to be a little consistent?

Raffina doesn't seem to see the issue. Amitie's seen them trading blows- physically, not with words or Puyo- but they seem to be on friendly terms. More than that, really. If Raffina doesn't sit with Amitie over lunch she's sitting with Sig, and if Amitie ever wants to know something about him but doesn't want to go through the hassle of asking him to face, well, Raffina will probably do just as well.

She has learned through this method many things. Primarily that despite his very... Red appearance, he's actually rather fond of the color blue. Who'd have thought?

Arle doesn't really see the problem either. Says he's just got an "interesting" way of making friends.

Yeah, interesting is certainly a word choice alright. Amitie can't see what either of them see in him.

"What's the deal with you two anyways," Raffina asks.

"He's mean! I swear, he has it out for me!"

"He's no worse than Klug."

"Yeah, but Klug's not good at it," Amitie counters. "He usually just comes off as silly."

"And Sig is?"

When they'd first met, and Amitie had come with her boundless excitement to say hi to the new kid and introduce herself to him, he'd given her a quick once-over and asked, after she'd finished talking, if she was the reincarnation of a Claire's.

As in the store, Claire's.

And wow, that should not have hurt as much as it did, but Amitie had never felt more shot down before in her life. She tells Raffina this much, and to her dismay Raffina laughs.

"I'm so sorry," she squeaks between laughter, "you're right, that's so cruel. I'm going to have to give him a stern talking to, next we meet."

Amitie groans, looking up at the sky. After a moment Raffina manages to add, "You two could be an item. Claire's and Hot Topic."

The look of complete and utter dismay Amitie shoots her sends Raffina into another giggling fit, and Amitie is so upset by her statement that she demands a Puyo battle. Raffina loses because she keeps breaking concentration and laughing again, and Amitie can no longer show her face around her for the rest of the day, she decides.

Sig's back and forth indecision over whether to be nice to Amitie or to attempt demolishing her in a fight comes to a head on a really, really bad day for Amitie. It's not uncommon for her to wake up late, but she also forgot her homework, and her lunch, and worst of all they were practicing aiming their magic. Most of the time this was generally all good fun, a break from the monotony of normal, boring schoolwork, but not today.

Not for Amitie, who was already in a pretty piss-poor mood, who can't aim for shit, and who has a gnat in her ear goading her for every shot she manages to fire 2 feet away from the intended target.

"I'm sure Glasses would let you borrow his spectacles if you asked," Sig passively throws at her before muttering "cardinal," at his own target.

Amitie huffs and doesn't answer him. She fires off another shot- how the hell did she get it to land there?

"Careful," Sig drones, "you might hit The Tower."

Amitie has to think about that one for a second, but she does come to the correct conclusion that the joke is that The Tower is quite literally opposite of where they're currently aiming. She growls under her breath this time, and tries again. She actually gets a bullseye, and she points at Sig with a "ha!"

He lets out a low whistle. "Wow," he drawls.

Amitie can't tell if it's sarcastic. Everything sounds sarcastic coming from him.

Nothing else is said between the two of them for a few more spells, but then just as Amitie casts one-

"Miss."

And miss she does. She cringes as she watches her flare only barely singe the edge of the target. She buries her face in her hands for a second, then turns to face Sig.

"What is your problem!"

"I've got a few. Like, my arm's always too warm and it's really annoying."

"That's not what I'm talking about, and you know it!"

He tilts his head at her like he doesn't know, actually.

"Quit insulting me!" She demands. "You're not helping!"

"'M not supposed to be."

"Well you could at least not make it worse!"

"What're you gonna do?" He bares teeth and raises his right arm, flexing his clawed fingers at her. "You gonna cry about it?"

"I might!!"

"Oh."

He lowers his hand with a frown. "Well, maybe, you'd feel better about it. If we fought."

Amitie groans. "I'm not going to fight you! I'm not going to get detention because you're being incomprehensible!"

He stares at her.

"Incorporeal!"

She is met with further silence. She sighs, turns around, and calmly asks the classmate on the other side of her, "Klug, what's the word for when someone's being stubborn, and it starts with 'in,' and has a c and an r in it, I think?"

Klug blinks at her and thinks for a moment. "Incorrigible?"

Amitie turns back to Sig and gestures to Klug. "That!"

Sig opens his mouth.

"Shut up!" Amitie interrupts. "No! No, I'm not gonna let you walk all over me anymore! Stop talking and leave me alone!"

He lets it click shut again. They stare at each other for a tense few seconds.

And then he leaves.

Just up and walks off the school grounds entirely. Of course, Klug being Klug, he shouts after Sig, and when the other doesn't turn around he tells Ms. Accord he's gone off to who knows where. She says she'll take care of it, and Amitie doesn't see him for the rest of the day.

Or the next.

He does come the day after that, and he very resolutely does not talk to her. Refuses to look in her direction, even. Amitie doesn't say anything to him either, except for some reason his silence is giving her anxiety. Maybe he's just trying to give her space after her outburst.

A lot of it.

Multiple days' worth.

Okay. Okay now she's definitely more than a little bit anxious.

She knows, realistically, she should be overjoyed! He's finally leaving her alone! But those few times that she manages to catch his eye he's quick to look away and he always looks...

Sad. Dejected? She's not sure. It's hard to read his expression on a good day, let alone when he's clearly having a bad one. Or, many. But he sure doesn't look like his normal, slightly-annoyed-by-everything self.

She's watching him eat from the far side of the school grounds, which is probably really weird and she'd be super embarrassed if he caught her, but she can't help it.

"You'd think you're worried about him or something," Raffina points out, checking out her nails in faux-disinterest.

"Is he okay?" Amitie blurts out.

Raffina snorts, lowering her hand and bringing her gaze to Amitie's. "No."

Amitie watches him flump forward onto the dirt. Now the only thing she can really see of him is a mass of varying shades of red and two little horns poking out from it. She frowns.

"I mean- I know I was a little harsh," Amitie mumbles sheepishly, and Raffina looks at her like harsh isn't the word she'd use but she remains quiet, "but it wasn't that bad, right?"

Raffina sighs, turning her eyes toward the sky. "Normally, I'd say it couldn't even be considered bad in the first place. But for him, it was bad enough."

"You'd think someone as nonchalant as he is wouldn't be bothered by it..." Amitie grumbles.

"Yes, well, from you, it meant something."

"Why?"

Raffina blinks and goes quiet. "I think... Perhaps that's something you should ask him yourself."

Amitie looks a little horrified at the idea but she knows if Raffina won't tell her the first time she's not going to spill at all, unless maybe she bribes her. She swallows, and resolutely stands up. Right. Okay. She's going to figure this out one way, or another. And by that, she means only one way, actually.

Sig has found that fighting someone is one of the best ways to get to know them.

That's what the kids at his old school would tell him, anyways, and they were right. After his right arm and eye had turned red and he'd started inexplicably growing horns under his mess of hair, he'd gotten a lot more friends.

A lot more bruises, too. A broken nose, once.

They were a little on the aggressive side, sure, but he'd found that at some point he'd started matching them in temperament. He's not sure when that happened.

He's not sure why his parents decided to move him to a different school, either. He'd spent so long without any friends and of course, it's only when people actually start playing with him that his parents decide to move. Go figure, huh.

But he's got new friends here, at Primp. Not as many, and they act a little differently, but they're friends regardless.

Raffina was very, very easy to make friends with. He knows a lot about her. She's confident, practiced, she knows what she's doing- it's not the kind of practice where she learned everything on the fly and has been working on it since, like Sig, it's the kind that's purposeful.

She's also hotheaded, though, and prone to making more mistakes if she thinks she's losing. This carries through most of the things she does, her competitiveness a constant in her personality.

Arle's another one he made pretty quick friends with. She's a little on the looser side, more in it for the fun than the glory. But sometimes, when she's cornered, she's like a wild animal. Unpredictable. Violent. She's been in tight spots before, and it's clear how she got out of them.

(She apologized for the burn on his arm, and he waved her off and said if it was anything like the others it'd go away within the day. She didn't ask what that meant.)

He tried to be friends with Klug. He seems fun. Unfortunately, while Sig had managed to convince him to take an argument to the back of the school, when he lifted his fist to throw the first punch Klug flinched and screamed and curled up on the ground.

It wasn't even his right hand. He was using his normal human one to test the waters. Unfortunately, it seems these particular waters have the depth of a puddle. Shame.

Amitie, though. He can't understand Amitie. He's not very good at reading people as it is, but she's sending him so many mixed signals and he can't seem to interpret them correctly. She follows through with the lead up just fine, huffing and puffing the whole way through, but then he tries to actually play with her and she always refuses, and she's absolutely unbending in this decision. She'll Puyo battle with him, but it's not quite the same.

He guesses he's learned some things about her that way. She's smarter than she acts, and than other people tend to make her out to be. She's just smart in a very particular area. But she's prone to picking at her own mistakes. She notices one, and the entire thing breaks down.

And, yeah, that's pretty significant. But he bets he'd learn more if she really fought him. She was the first person to really approach him, to say hi rather than lean over to her friends and ask "what's wrong with his arm?" Of course he'd want to get to know her.

"You could always just tell her you want to be friends," Raffina'd suggested to him. "That might be, I don't know, easier?"

And yeah, he could. But that's not being close. That's just saying "let's be friends." That's not genuine- there's something different, something vulnerable about biting without bark. Bits and pieces of the other person bleed through. He wonders what Raffina and Arle see, when they play with him.

The way they play feels different from the way his friends at his old school do. They're not gentler on him, necessarily, but it hurts way less. He wants to know if Amitie is the same.

But he could never tell if she felt that way too.

Guess he has his answer now.

He's laying in the grass and watching ants crawl towards the food he'd lain down for them. He couldn't stomach it. Why waste it when he could feed a colony for days.

He hears someone approach, but he doesn't bother looking up. They stop not even a full foot behind him, and seem to shift a little awkwardly.

"... Sig?"

He looks up to glare at Amitie (he doesn't even mean to glare, that's just how he looks), but it doesn't last long. He decides craning his neck over his shoulder like that is too much work, so he lets it drop back onto the grass and tracks an ant grabbing a crumb of his lain down food.

"Sig," she tries again, slowly sitting down next to him. He huffs, flipping over on his side to face her all the way. Despite this, he still doesn't really look at her. She fidgets, trying to figure out what to say, and then settles for, "Are you... Okay...?"

He looks up at her with a look she can't really decipher, and this time she's the one directing her gaze away. "Um. Yeah. I guess that's kind of a dumb question," she laughs nervously. She looks down at him again. "But, um, could I ask what it is? That's bothering you, I mean."

He lets the question permeate a little and then responds, "Why would you tell me to leave you alone if you were just gonna come over n' talk to me yourself."

"So it is that," Amitie mumbles. Sig brings his focus to the grass. Wow. It sure is green, down here.

"Why would that bother you, though?" She asks, and when he stays silent she continues, "I mean, you're all! Bitey, and snappy and bored by everything all the time, and I know I should probably be glad you're not talking to me anymore," she watches his expression change again, and this time she can take a guess at what it is.

Hurt. She cringes at the thought.

She takes a breath and keeps going. "But now you're being all weird about it so what-" she furrows her brows, watching him curl his fingers into a fist and pull out a few blades of grass. "What changed?"

"Nothing," he responds, honestly. "Nothing changed. You just..." His eyes unfocus and his tone goes distant, "You just never want to play with me."

Wah-huh?

"I never what?"

"You never play with me," he repeats. "You act like you might, maybe, but whenever I ask you to you always say no."

"Wait wait wait, back up. Fighting... Is playing to you?"

His attention snaps back to her. "Is it not for you?"

"No! No," Amitie denies, "I mean, Puyo battles are totally normal, but fighting? Why would you want to do that?"

He rolls onto his back, staring up at the sky. "Wanna be close to you."

WAH-HUH x2?

"I want to get to know you," he admits, closing his eyes, "I've never been good at talking. It's easier to understand a fight."

Amitie's not completely sure she really gets that feeling. She doesn't really know how fighting someone would help you understand them better.

"But, I mean, I get it," Sig murmers, keeping his eyes shut. "I get it if you don't wanna be friends with me. Freak, n' all."

"NononoNONONO!" Amitie exclaims, quieting down when Sig looks up at her with a squint. "That's not it. It's not- I don't- I thought you hated me!"

He scowls at her, which very much contradicts his next statement of, "I don't hate you."

She chooses to believe his words, instead of his face. "So, then, you- you were just-!"

She buries her face into her hands and screams. "Ohhhhhh my god. Oh my god, I'm so sorry!"

Sig sits up in a lackadaisical manner, but he keeps his attention on her.

"This entire time I thought you were just being a, a uh," she snaps her fingers a few times. "What's a word Arle would use?"

"Asshole."

"An asshole!" She nods. "But that's just how you play? You were trying to play with me? Because you wanted to be friends?!"

He blinks at her. "Yeah," he responds. He sounds irritated, but Amitie chooses to ignore it.

"Ohhhhhh nooooo," she whines, and now she's the one laying on her back. "I'm sorry! Oh my god, and I hurt you! You just wanted to be friends, and I hurt you!"

"'S fine," he mutters, "You didn't know. Sorry for... Not communicating. Or whatever."

Amitie grumbles about how that's probably not a healthy way to form relationships and they should discuss this later. She sits up and gives him an awkward smile. "Can we start over? Please?"

Sig tilts his head at her. "Uh. Sure?"

Her smile brightens and she excitedly throws her hand out. "Hiya! My name's Amitie I heard we were getting a new kid are you the new kid? You look like the new kid I've never seen you before you look super cool is your hair dyed or is it just like that sorry I'm talking so much I should let you go huh so what's your name?"

Wow. Did she seriously memorize that entire run-off? He looks her up and down, then smirks. "Are you the reincarnation of a Claire's?"

She punches his shoulder with a disbelieving laugh and an indignant "Sig!" then responds, "No, but I get my earrings from there!"

Further off, Raffina watches the two laugh with a feeling of relief. Finally, that's one headache removed.

Unfortunately for her she pretty soon realizes that this would merely cause a different headache to later form. But it's better than Amitie complaining about Sig's hot and cold demeanor, and Sig moping about how Amitie, who definitely wants to be friends with him, doesn't want to be friends with him. Honestly, as long as they're not going back to that? Raffina thinks she can deal with this particular headache.

Jackie deserves so much better than the fate T9S has given her, which is the main reason T9S irks me. If the story was pushed to 1998-9, E/D's daughter wasn't named Leia, and Jackie and Kelso weren't a thing (maybe an offscreen J/H ending, with their daughter joining Lucy [not Leia] on her adventures?), I'd be legitimately excited. Alas, the premise is solid, but the details suck.

Anywho, since Eric and Donna's travel bug was cut short in my TWA verse in 1985 because of Kate, I can totally see them dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. Not in 1980-2, though. Because as I said in my reply to your essay on T9S's premise, I honestly see Donna having an abortion in most cases, since she and Eric are so far from being ready, it would be a disservice to their child. To go through the same turmoil she did.

The only times I see her not having one is if Eric (or Jackie, maybe) spilled the beans about her pregnancy before she could nip it in the bud (like in season 6, if she was pregnant), or if she and Eric were separated (for whatever reason). and her aching heart overruled her head (like in Drops of Jupiter). And Eric wouldn't even fathom naming his daughter Leia, because Leia was a sexual fantasy. Not someone he idolized, like Luke, per se.

To me, the unexpected pregnancy would have to realistically occur between 1983-7. After they're done with college, and are young, traveling professionals (they're working in Cape Town, South Africa in my verse), only for it to be unexpectedly cut short. Speaking of which, I have a bunch of chapters of Ebony and Ivory (the main E/D fic in my verse) written, but I only have three chapters posted. All of my stuff is on AO3 at this point (I only posted on FF in the very beginning), and I have a bunch of ficlets, moodboards, and essays within my verse in the Eric and Donna tag. And the Jackie and Hyde tag. And the Red and Kitty tag...

Yeah, I don’t blame anybody for not being interested in That 90′s Show. Different strokes for different folks, and all that. If Eric and Donna were treated the way Jackie and Hyde are being treated, I’d be effing pissed too.

I think circumstances outside the show/characters led to Jackie and Kelso being written as back together, and that’s really dumb, lol. I’m with you - Jackie could have appeared alone without mentioning any romantic partner, so it’s all left up to fans’ imaginations. Or sure, mention that she’s going home to Hyde off-screen. But the writers/producers have shown that they don’t have that kind of creativity, unfortunately. They were unwilling to do it when Topher left in season 8, too.

I have a lot of questions about That 90′s Show and skepticism too, but hey, I haven’t even seen it yet so what do I know? I’m going to reserve judgement until it comes out. Maybe it will suck. Maybe it will be great. Probably somewhere in between. I will take what I like and use it for inspiration, and I’ll ignore the rest, same as always with this show. It has disappointed me before and I’m sure it will again, but that’s why fanfic exists!

I don’t think Donna would get an abortion, but there are a lot of different ways to interpret the characters and of course we’re each entitled to our own. When she thought she was pregnant in the show, abortion wasn’t something that seemed to be on the table. The characters all sort of acted like it was inevitable that if Donna was pregnant, she’d be having the baby. Brooke and Kelso’s unexpected pregnancy was treated the same way. Roe v. Wade happened in 1973 so abortion was certainly legal and available (especially in cities probably, like Madison, Milwaukee or Chicago) but I don’t think it was by any means common. At least, not in Point Place.

I think Donna would be well informed about her options, though, and I think she would think about them seriously if something like this happened. I also think that finishing college would be a deal-breaker for her. And she wouldn’t want to rush into marriage, just because she was being rushed into parenthood. Eric would have to react better than he did last time, too. I think he’s capable of acting more maturely, though, and I also think that fatherhood would be something Eric would take seriously and would be the catalyst for him to finally grow up.

Hmm, I think their kid would be raised with a lot of love and support, not only from Eric and Donna but from Red and Kitty. I bet Leia had a pretty happy childhood (albeit imperfect). One of the things I’m looking forward to about That 90′s Show - other than Eric and Donna’s on-screen reunion! - is seeing Red and Kitty interact with their granddaughter. I have a feeling they helped an awful lot when Leia was small.

I can’t believe Dumbledore just lets Peregrine take MC out on a day trip that easily like it doesn’t make sense. Is it because he’s their dad or something? And I don’t know how he apparently didn’t notice the eye symbol on his jacket, maybe it’s hard to notice because it’s like camouflaged but it’s still there. Why’s he just letting him take MC, dad or not? Especially with what happened last time someone with that symbol was in the school.

Considering that it’s Albus Dumbledore we’re talking about, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he already knows about Peregrine being the leader of R.

Let’s be real, Dumbledore knows a lot more than we suspect and is involved more than we think. That’s what his character is always about. And even if we ignore Dumbledore we know from the books, we still have reasons within the game to believe so. I’m thinking here mostly about our private Legilimency lesson from Y5Ch19:

I still think it’s very possible that it was Dumbledore who placed all the clues in the columns, which would explain nicely the vision of Dumbledore in front of the Vault of Ice. The visions with Jacob make it hard to tell whether or not they’re all from the past or from what period in general, but either way, the line with Mundungus is interesting as well. Even if that particular meeting happened in Jacob’s time, it’s very likely that Fletcher still reports to him about MC. Meaning that of fucking course Dumbledore knew about Merula being the mole since Fletcher was with us during the meeting at the end of Y6 (seriously, why the fuck MC was so surprised by that?).

Moreover, at the end of Y5, we had this exchange:

I speculated for a long time that those “threats to the wizarding world” might’ve been directly connected to R, so… yeah. Dumbledore knows things.

Alright, but if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be still messed up that he let MC go? Well, yes… and no. See, I believe that Dumbledore might’ve played oblivious on purpose to gain an advantage over Peregrine. Because if he was openly suspicious of Peregrine, he’d give him a clear message that he has to be more cunning to reach MC – and as a result, it could be more dangerous for MC. So, by pretending to not suspect anything, Dumbledore might be making Peregrine less careful, giving him a false sense of security.

Besides, Dumbledore being hostile towards Peregrine would again turn Peregrine into a victim. I talked about it already in this post in the context of Jacob. Peregrine plays a good dad who shows remorse, he wants to fix his mistakes. It’s Jacob who’s a bad son, who doesn’t want to forgive his own father. And the thing with MC is that they tend to side with victims. It could be similar with Dumbledore.

And yeah, I know that Dumbledore technically wasn’t sure if Peregrine won’t hurt MC right then. But I assume he suspects Peregrine will try to win MC over first, before taking more extreme measures.

Also, Dumbledore playing dumb might lead to a pretty easy and even funny way of apprehending Peregrine. Imagine that Peregrine tries to take MC from Hogwarts. Maybe MC started suspecting something and they’re trying to resist. And then, Dumbledore enters the scene, saying:

“Oh, Peregrine! It’s good to see you again! How about we play that game of wizard’s chess you promised me last time? I insist!”.

And here, Peregrine has two options. The first one is blowing his cover right in front of the most powerful wizard of their time. So, obviously, he chooses to play along. Dumbledore is distracting him with stupid chat while they’re playing, Peregrine is sweating because that’s not what he planned, and the Aurors come to Hogwarts in the meantime to put our dear Dad where he belongs: in Azkaban.

News flash folks: There’s a good & bad to every fandom, regardless of the age demographic and/or what the canon material is. I ain’t naming any names/fandoms, but those who claim there’s nothing wrong with the fandom are either too disillusioned to accept otherwise or too “religious”/devout to see the bad side, to the point where they may try to indoctrinate you into believing the fandom are just good little angels who can do no harm and/or the canon is absolute law that everyone should follow. Then watch the hypocrisy as one part of the fandom tries to call out the other for being too bigoted, only for the latter half to harass the former for not being “true” fans.

I’ve fallen into this trap before, and all it really does is put the fandom & canon on a pedestal instead of treating it at face value. It also paints this black & white worldview where if people don’t like the fandom or if you don’t agree fully with them, you’re automatically ostracized as a degenerate and/or a scum of the earth. It’s the general nature of the internet, I know, but that doesn’t make it fair or normal (and it’s not good for my mental health at all c’:)

Perhaps it’s due to my religious upbringing, but I get very uncomfortable when people start joking about a fandom becoming a “religion” or that they “worship” a certain fandom. Yeah, yeah, you can chalk it up as “just a joke”, but some people may take it too seriously, whether unintentionally or on purpose. It’s just a franchise, guys, not a cult, it’s not that serious. As a wise munchy monk once said: “Not everything you like is gonna be five stars, and that’s okay. You can like something that is not very good and kinda dumb. I would know, I love Kingdom Hearts.”

I’m…not really sure, actually? I don’t pay much attention to fanon, and while there are some superficial headcanons in the fanon that I may not agree with, I mostly see it as a minor inconvenience that’s easy for me to ignore? You can raceswap and/or genderswap the Enstars idols all you want, you can have as many AU Sans as you want, you can be a diehard Prinxiety shipper all you want, but I really don’t care ._.;

Just…please don’t try to shove it down people’s throats? This kinda ties back to the first answer again, but as long as you’re not doing these things to harass others or prove that it’s “the best”, then that’s valid.

I counted 13, but they’re all from 3 different fandoms: Harry Potter, RWBY, and Pokemon. The first is a fandom I don’t care about that got really annoying at one point so I had to filter out the bs, but the other two are franchises that I…share a love/hate relationship with now c’:

Half of it is to avoid spoilers while the other half is because of the mixed feelings I have for the fandom and canon. In general, I sincerely hope that someday the creators/writers/developers of these two franchises would one day get their act together and write something meaningful, but considering both franchises have ironically finished their 9th installment with little to no improvement, that’s probably not going to happen any time soon c’:

More specifically however why did they had to make Bmblb canon in RWBY I really don’t want to blame the shippers for ruining the show but considering how poorly written the ship is and how it drags on for 4 FRICKING VOLUMES when we could’ve spent more time on BETTER CHARACTER AND PLOT DEVELOPMENT I’m hard-pressed to consider otherwise c’:

As for Pokemon…most of the tags are Scarlet & Violet related, or more importantly DLC related (the rest is Legends Arceus related which I still haven’t played cuz I’m poor c’:). Don’t get me wrong, I actually kinda enjoyed the game…before the DLC arrived c’:

It’s just…why did they make us bully Kieran like that? Why did we have NO CHOICE but to LIE to him about meeting Ogrepon? Which drunken Gamefreak exec thought this would be a good idea? What’s the point of dialogue options if they all lead to the same result? Ironically, I can forgive it in Nemona’s case after you become Champion (even though I hate her guts) because at least then the “choice” didn’t have any REAL consequence. We CRUSHED a child’s DREAM. TWICE. WE are the antagonist, NOT KIERAN. If you’re GOING to make me question the consequences for capturing not one, but TWO LEGENDARIES, why did you have to make me do it over a 14-year-old who CLEARLY DOESN’T DESERVE IT?

You know why we have villainous teams like Team Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Plasma, or even Flare, Gamefreak? Because it gives the player a moral reason to contain immeasurable power (i.e. the Legendaries) before a greater evil gets to it first. Sure, it’s stupid. It’s not true for every Legendary. Mewtwo isn’t even obtainable until AFTER you become Champion. But AT LEAST I didn’t have to grapple with the consequences for doing so. Listen, I’m all for subverting tropes & dealing with the consequences of our actions…provided it’s done correctly.

But Kieran??? A literal child??? Who had ZERO NEGATIVE CONVICTIONS for obsessing over a Legendary???? Hm, I wonder how this could’ve played out better…oh wait. You HAVE done it better before.

WITH FUCKING. EUSINE.

Did we have to lie about meeting Suicune to Eusine back then? No, because he was already there. He stood WITH us, as a PARTNER. We saw the Legendary TOGETHER. Did we have to worry about Eusine getting too obsessed just to get to the Legendary first? NO. BECAUSE HE’S A MATURE ADULT AND WE’RE BOTH WORKING TOWARDS A COMMON GOAL. Did he turn desperate and insane when we captured his prized obsession? NO. HE FUCKING. CONGRATULATES YOU. WE INSPIRED HIM TO BECOME A RESEARCHER. HE’S NOT MAD AT US, HE’S INSPIRED BY US.

Why couldn’t it be the same for Kieran?

Look, I’m not saying Kieran is this “pwecious little uwu bean who did/can do no wrong”. No. That’s not the point. You can have an obsessive character, you can love ‘em or hate ‘em all you want, but for the love of God, PLEASE DON’T ANTAGONIZE THEM FOR IT IF IT’S NOT IN THEIR CHARACTER. KIERAN IS A TEENAGER. OF COURSE HE’S GOING TO BE OBSESSED WITH A LEGENDARY. ITS. NOT. EVIL.

Because you know what happens when you do do that? When you twist the narrative so bad to asinine mary-sue levels of bullshit just to give us what we want? We become no different from Kieran or Eusine. Nay, we’re much worse. Because we “wanted” it more. Because we “deserved” it more. You know how fucked up that sounds? No one “earns” a Legendary. It’s a privilege, a miracle, a gift from God, you could say, to contain phenomenal cosmic power within the palm of our hands.

Who are you to say that we deserve it?
