They can't see that this universe rule is simply their assumption without any validation in canon. Heh. And apparently Hinata is also trans. Why? How? Himawari had physical characteristics that are similar to Hinata.

Hehehe. They can't digest the fact that Boruto and Himawari having whisker marks is just a design aspect so they can appear distinctly as Naruto's kids. That's literally it. No other reason. For Naruto, those marks were functional, as they would flare and darken when his kyuubi chakra leaked out. They served a design purpose in Naruto's story. They don't serve any purpose in Boruto. Boruto simply has them because he is Naruto's offspring whose design necessarily needs to look similar to Naruto. So he is instantly recognisable by the audience. That's really all. No mental gymnastics required.

These kids are playing make-believe stories for their heart's pleasure. They find themselves too het and vanilla in an increasingly complex world and so, they look for diversity where there isn't any. Can't follow a very gay love story for shit (wherein they ignore the story and major characters but glorify and overestimate their largely irrelevant and less than sidey fave character, a selfish and boring woman married to a gay man) but they can and will appropriate queer theories to feel better about themselves. Reassure themselves. They also want to be seen as woke and forward thinking. Lol. And they think appropriating important concepts without an iota of intelligence, objective thought or consideration is the way to do it. Won't acknowledge a very visibly canon and credible gay love story that makes this manga, but will surely pull their heads out of their asses to believe Hinata is queer and NH is special. Wow, so woke. So QuEeR. Lol silly lil hypocritical ones.

I think they are just little kids or young adults who want a little feel good hormones and I guess, just let them have fun? They will get it sooner or later. Including how to comprehend media. also one of the specific reasons that Playing The Actual Game (or watching videos of the game) is that the nuance in line delivery is often very important. A lot of dialogue lines get discoursed to death on here and then when you actually hear them in-game it's like "wait a minute". Like in text form the nuances of a VA's delivery are often lost.

i feel like the fact that barely anyone who watches the show thinks of will as the main character might be indicative of the fact that he isn't

// I do, yes. Aymeric and Estinien's bond took some time to become a favorite of mine, I'll admit, and that's likely because it took me a while to understand and warm up to Estinien himself. How close they really, TRULY are didn't hit me until the scene where Aymeric is sitting at Estinien's bedside, and then I went 'oh. OH,' and proceeded to cling to the idea of them from then on.

They're so different from each other. They share the same values and wants, but it's like the golden retriever puppydog with the stoic, clad in shadow wolf.

Aymeric is the guiding light, the leader, the one who steps forward and does not hesitate to be the face of hope and strength for his people and his friends, while Estinien fights for the very same thing, but from the shadows. He's often posted off to the side, in the corner or against the wall, just listening. Observing. But, best believe if you need him? He's also there, just like Aymeric. They are so ALIKE but so different at the same time, and I absolutely eat UP that sort of dynamic.

There are also a lot of complexities, too. Estinien is Aymeric's best friend and most cherished confidant, besides maybe Lucia, and even then, his bond with HER is largely professional. He longs for and greatly enjoys Estinien's company, even despite knowing his best friend isn't one for idle chitchat or opening up; Estinien LISTENS, though, and listens well, and Aymeric is comfortable being vulnerable in front of Estinien, where he can't be vulnerable in front of anyone else (and for someone who's leading a nation that's still recovering and rebuilding, the need and opportunity to be vulnerable are CRUCIAL, lest Aymeric crumble beneath the weight of it all).

Their bond, understandably, is very tense in Heavensward, but when it all comes to a close and that new, hopeful chapter begins, paving the road to eventual happiness and prosperity in Ishgard, I think that sense of longing that Aymeric has (and does well to hide) almost hurts him, to some tragic and sad extent. He's proud of his friend and is eager to watch him grow stronger, to travel, to be more ESTINIEN than he is the AZURE DRAGOON, but... then he remembers how strained everything has been. How he almost lost Estinien MULTIPLE times (and Estinien almost lost him once, with the assassination attempt.) How he wonders how Estinien feels about him, if Estinien is proud of him, if Estinien would ever come to call Ishgard HOME just like Aymeric does. He thinks about Estinien quite often in both good and bad ways, and I'd say it almost consumes him.

fklwalkflkwa ahhh I'm RAMBLING, but I just... I feel so strongly about them both. ;_; It makes me want to play through Heavensward again so I can approach the expansion with this new mindset, and maybe even catch things that I didn't the first go-round. The fact that both of them still mention each other in the expansions that follow, even being regions upon regions apart, it just... UGGGGH, they're so important to one another and I'm CRYING.

Hmmm I wonder. I have the feeling I just read the same couple of books over and over, and at times only different iterations of the same story, like in that line by Borges ("the various intonations of a few metaphors").

I find recommending books without knowing anything at all about the person asking rather difficult. What I'd suggest to one may differ greatly from what I'd recommend to someone else. I'll give a list of some of my favourite books that I think are enjoyable in general:

Poetry is perhaps harder to recommend because at times it translates horribly, but in general I love Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Rilke, Byron, Quevedo, Góngora, Lope de Vega, Horace, Catullus, Ovid, Tennyson, Maiakovsky, Garcilaso de la Vega, Oliverio Girondo, Vicente Huidobro, Emily Brontë, T. S. Eliot, Luis Cernuda and Edgar Allan Poe, to name a few.

#I talk too much #I wanted to say The tragic sense of life by Unamuno and Philosophy and Poetry by María Zambrano #but I thought maybe they'd be hard to find in translation. They're both approachable texts of philosophy beautifully written though #Unamuno's essay Vida de Don Quijote y Sancho (translated as Our Lord Don Quixote in English according to Wikipedia?) is also beautiful #I adore Schopenhauer and Nietzsche but I'm not sure I'd recommend them to anyone. Probably you can't go wrong with Kierkegaard though #I know what some of these books look like (like Wittgenstein's Tractatus or Cantor's Foundations) #but I swear they're approachable without specific academic background. The last line of Wittgenstein's Tractatus is one of my favourite #lines ever in the history of anything‚ philosophy or literature‚ but to be as hitting as it is you need to reach it at the end of the book #I think despite what it looks like both Cantor and especially Wittgenstein have an aesthetic intent in their writing #Wittgenstein in particular reminds me of Kierkegaard and Rilke and also of Unamuno and Zambrano. And of course Schopenhauer et al. #The Tractatus is very similar in my opinion to Huidobro's Altazor which is just amazing but I don't know how it would translate #These books I like in form and not just in content (although form is content like I think happens in Wittgenstein's Tractatus) #so when possible I'd read them in their original languages.I myself can't read German and know but very little of Russian and Ancient Greek #and a bit of Latin so I must be missing a lot of those. Nonetheless they're great in what I can get through translation #Perhaps you'd have the chance of enjoying them in full #If you can't read Russian I am actually quite specific with the translation of Crime and Punishment haha There's a concept #Razumikhin develops through the book at several points and often translators aren't consister with the word which makes the readers lose #the view of this development. And I happen to think the development works alongside the narrative of Svidrigailov #and also with what happens towards the end with Porfiry and Raskolnikov so I think it's important #In English there are several translations that maintain the coherence such as the one by Pevear and Volokhonsky #(the only one I can remember right now but I could check the rest). Garnett's translation is everywhere but that one doesn't do it #Hmmm Pedro Páramo in English takes some liberties and La Regenta isn't as funny which is what happens with Wuthering Heights #and The three musketeers in translation even when the translations are more accurate #I haven't recommended Wuthering Heights because I take you've read it but that's my favourite book #And I haven't recommended Pandora Hearts because that's a manga and you asked for books but it does some very interesting things #that I think are in line with many of the books listed here (as I said‚ I basically like the same few things retold over and over haha) #There are many books I am itching to recommend but that I can't do freely without some knowledge of the person asking #Like Steinbeck's arthurian novel or idk Gone with the wind #I hope this list is enjoyable enough. I'm not sure if I've been able to avoid being too partial #I suppose one has to bear the conditions of their existence and can't ever entirely get rid of themselves haha

oh damnit the other post deleted. just watched the nimona movie, it was brilliant, fully recommend to anyone who can watch it. you don’t need to read the comic in order to enjoy it (although of course i do also strongly recommend the comic) and honestly if you haven’t read the comic you’ll have a better experience watching the movie first THEN reading the comic with a few days in between

ok now that I’m finally through episode 8 of bee and puppycat I can say that my official plot doctoring advice is to………. Just watch the original shorts and skip the first two reboot episodes

#lazy in space has the same plot coherency and build as the original. #which makes SENSE. #because they were built to go together #but the first two episodes will definitely be confusing for new watchers #also you will literally be missing information that they forgot to write back in during the abridging process #but lazy in space is so so good #i love it #also spikes voice actor from cowboy bebop has a very important and surprising roll in it hehehe #squawk tag

uh, i agree with lack of female characters in bsd :( so disappointing. i am angry how authors push them in the far back. at least kyouka, yosano, and lucy got their spotlight! this is why yosano's backstory is so important <3

All the female characters have so much potential and their abilities are pretty cool yet they barely get any screentime ;;;;;; Really praying we'll get to see any more of them soon, even if it's Teruko. And Yosano's story was amazing!!! It added so much depth to the character, unironically I consider it the peak of bsd. Anyways stan all of bsd women ❤️❤️❤️
