why is it okay for other people to point out canon things about will and how he's perceived in hawkins as well as the differences between him and the other boys on the show etc etc and everyone claps and cheers and agrees with them publicly now, but when i do it i'm told that i'm trying to turn will into a girl, that i'm rude, that i'm homophobic, get accused of killing people's grandmothers, and get vagued, etc etc. like i know why but Why . . ....

WIP
Sorry for the inactivity for the past two weeks. I've been working on a R + doujin/fancomic. ^^;;
I recently discovered a new way to ink in the midst of it but they are more time consuming than my usual inking so it'll be a week or two until I'm finished with the entirety. 😓
'Need to learn how to multitask projects gah. Hyperfocus is a bad problem I have.

All resources have aspects you can consider and use regardless of who's writing them or for what purpose, It is just important to read/use these resources critically. First identify are you paying for it or not, if you are be as selective as you want, in this horrific capitalism world we live in money equals direct support.
Now if you’re not, regardless of the means you are not paying for something, there is plenty you can get from resources without agreeing with the core messages of them. As long as you keep in mind the issues while consuming them.
Like a book on wicca ceremony, wicca is full of cultural appropriation. You can still learn about maybe ways to organise group ceremonies, what roles in a leadership hierarchy are necessary for group organisation, etc.
Like the Irish Pagan school, creator too mean? Atmosphere too nasty? Read their free blog, pirate their books, take what practices you think are legitimate and don’t engage with what you feel isn’t.
Them Druidic societies and Celtic “shamans”, very problematic yet plenty of stuff on meditation, connecting to the earth and places of power. Some decent ethical guidelines on engagement. And shadow work stuff
I think because most of us are coming from a monotheistic background we have an unconscious belief that we must find a group of people who know everything and we must do everything they say or we all go to hell. Paganism is not about swearing yourself to live and die by an organisation.
Every single one of us has an individual practise which we must put together from various imperfect sources, that is the nature of celtic paganism(s). There is plenty to be learned, and waiting until you find that one true (bible) resource is not going to be helpful. What will be is knowing the problems of whatever you are looking at and consuming it critically.

So who’s your favorite character in Wander Over Yonder? And what’s your fav ship(s)?
Oh, I love playing this guessing game!! ♡ ~('▽^人) ✨
Favorite character? Well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[🎨📺]
As for ships, I wouldn't exactlyy say I ship anything in this show tbch, but I'd say I'm especially fond of Sylava, in a strictly fanon kinda way.
#Wander Over Yonder#Lord Dominator#woy is funny bc the core four are all so shippable but nothing rlly does it for me. i think nearly all possible pairs there have some charm#when considering *all five* of the mains not a whole lot changes bc dominator's a lesbian and sylvia is the only other main who isn't a dud#(i'm not a pr.o.shi.pper so bigoted type stuff grosses me out when it comes to shipping. we don't go there eugyhgfghhs)#tbcch i'm of the firm belief that lord dominator shouldnt be shipped with anyone in a srs sense. like as far as staying true to canon goes#she's made it extremely clear that she's not into that kinda stuff *and* that she's wAy too horrible for any kinda relationships anyway#but when it comes to lighthearted silly fanon stuff (or any degree of au stuff where *GASP* D isn't a demon & they Work) sylava makea me :)#(in whatever way ppl wanna imagine them. i'm partial to ''yes homo no romo'' qpr type goodness w/ them but i love seeing Everyone's takes!!#partially bc it's nice to see people actually. care. about what dom is and is not about (sexuality-wise). which is THE BARE MINIMUM but wel#a lot of people Do Not do that! sadly sexism and homophobia exist and it seeps into a lotta things in a lotta small ways and *sobs*#SO YEAH IT'S NICE TO SEE. NOT THAT. it's nice to see as a light shining through the darkness that is the internet & 2010s show fandoms sks#ah & partially bc sylava is like. literally the only ship ever kinda-sorta-teased in the show in a way that wasn't just played for jokes#which i think gives us neat things to work with when it comes to the whole ''what if'' kinda stuff- so!!! yea i just think it's neat :]#in both an ''in another life...'' not-so-hypothetical chemistry kinda way AND in an 'im a real stickler for Canon Goodness' kinda way too#haha#as for other ships i'm especially partial to... mmmmm.. 🤔#deathglare in the context of hater learning to cherish & appreciate peepers and treat him RIGHT makes me happy. i like that :)#and skeleton dance is always fun!!!! a real delight both on and off the screen hehah#most everything else makes me go ''oh cool. yea that's cute.'' 👍#ships involving minor characters are pretty take it or leave it. i dont think there's any i have any strong feelings about#except ig that it was pretty sweet when people were shipping lord hater & ripov. tbh i like how many ships people came up with w/ her#that was really swag. she was a fun character!!

continuing the outline for thralls, and holy shit does it get intense, emotionally. I don't think I ever got teary-eyed while outlining, but I very much did here (and because of romance??? what is going on???), and... Like, I think that besides two subplots that are still pretty vague in my head right now, it is starting to look very strong, but. I'm still very much on the fence about whether this is a story worth telling, especially now, and especially by me.
don't get me wrong, I think it's a good story. but I'm not sure that's good enough of a reason to bring it to screens.

Now again, im saying this from a pretty detached place
as in its not me who is theoretically in danger in this specific sense
but the whole israel brainwashing narrative like whats taught in their schools is basically "palestinians are literally the equivalent to nazis and want to do everything the nazis want to do" etc etc.
So when getting in to the israeli zionist jewish mindset, one should be seeing it as Jews fighting nazis. Thats how supposedly they are brought up believing.
But idk. again it can be because i wasnt brought up with the same fears and stories of actual nazism and everything that would cause someone to hate with such...palpability?
But for me, as much as i hate fascism and nazis and bigots and the like, when i see a baby, a child, even one being brought up in a literal neonazi household, as in homeschooled on nazi values
I dont feel hate towards the child. i dont see them as not human. i wouldnt cheer for their death or even seek to kill them
at most, and generally, i would wish that baby being taken away from proven-to-be nazi indoctrination (as oppose to the supposed view israeli zionists have on palestinians)
But I see so many videos and writings of Israeli zionists (jewish specifically) that cheer for palestinian babies dying, that brag about killing toddlers or children.
And its not like they dont have access to other view points, to videos.
I just dont think its based in any type of fear like they like to claim. I think some yes, just like not all israelis are jewish nor zionist nor anti palestinian.
But from what ive seen i just dont buy that the zionist cilvilians are driven by fear that which they grew up being taught to feel- as is claimed
I think for a lot its an illusion of fear? Like theres the genuine fear of antisimetism which is true and real and as jewish people even zionists have every right to have that fear.
And then theres the fear they say they have of palestinians (and those fighting for palestine) that they say is nazi/antisemitism and THAT is where i think a lot of them are lying.
I think they accept that narrative but dont actually feel it. I dont think most feel the same fear they feel with real antisemitism.
And this is exluding actual antisemitism coming from pro palestine side which is definitely happening, and also excluding any true misinterpretation (which that sounds confusing but idk how to explain it. theres layers)
its like so much other evidence ive seen where its one sided attacks and hate in like, Jerusalem where settlers will attack anyone not jewish (like that video of the Christian being spat on which i dont believe was palestinian?)
bottom line, majority of zionists know what they are doing to a degree and dont care bc they have grown up as bigots.
Like white supremacists who "fear" for the white decline, who grow up as a bigot. They dont fear in the way one would actually fear oppression and eradication.
Does this make sense? can someone say it better
Also to be clear This blog is Pro Jewish, Israel is Antisimetic and doesnt speak for all Jews etc

Seeing an aspect of yourself in a fictional character:
Tumblr media
Insisting that the way you see this character is the only right way to see them, and that anyone who disagrees with you, or sees them in another way is racist/lgbtphobic/etc.

Yknow, I hate how volunteering all kinds of personal information on tumblr and other social media websites, to the point it could legit be dangerous for some peeps, has become so commonplace that it's now considered suspicious to NOT exercise caution and withhold even a sliver of your personal information

I’ve found that my experience scrolling on tumblr has been.. subpar as of late. theres not as much funny and happy things on my dash, moreso discourse.
I’m not sure if this is whats causing my tumblr experience to be subpar, but I will be blocking the tags #discourse #current events #negative, etc. I would like it if you guys could tag discourse and otherwise negative stuff with my blacklist tag #Ollie don’t look/#Oliver don’t look, or with the proper tags.
I just. want my dash to be less hot takes more.. happiness and being accepting. Even if a post is like ”fuck exclusionists” it still reminds me of them.

Things I've seen tumblr memeing about James Somerton doing à la "How did no one see how bigoted he was!" as if those things haven't been a significant part of tumblr culture for over a decade :
Presenting untrue and bordering on conspiratorial versions of (queer or otherwise marginalised) history without any sources
Completely disregarding and disrespecting any expertise on socio-cultural topics/humanities and distrusting academics and historians (incl. acting as if no academics or historians could be queer or marginalised)
Downplaying the role misogyny played in the historical oppression of queer women and concluding that queer men must have been more oppressed than queer women
Bi women are, at best, not as queer as "real" queer ppl, and at worst, simply equivalent to straight women
Despite nominal trans inclusivity, transmasculine ppl are functionally women when convenient (combined with the above, bi transmascs are functionally straight women)
Despite nominal trans inclusivity (bis), shamelessly attacking, threatening and actively endangering any trans woman who questions them or smth they find important (often by unfairly presenting her as violent or as a threat)
Having absolutely fucking wild and reductive takes about ace ppl, the oppression they face and their place in the queer community
Stating that marriage equality is an assimilationist fight while completely ignoring its direct roots in the horrifying consequences of the AIDS crisis for partners of ppl who died of AIDS
Praising western media creators from the past for queer coding even under censure and in the same breath condemning current non western media creators for being homophobic bc their representation isn't explicit enough
Blaming China for all existing homophobic censoring in western media
Assuming all queer media would be better told by western creators and by western standards
Only out queer ppl get to tell queer stories
Heavily criticising almost all queer media created by women or ppl they see as such (see above points about trans ppl) or involving/starring a significant amount of women for any perceived or real amount of "problematicness", but fawning over and praising and negating criticism of queer media created by and starring mostly or even functionally exclusively men (even when it could be argued that, you know, not involving/seriously sidelining women is a pretty clear example of misogyny which should probably be considered "problematic")
And I'm probably forgetting stuff or there's stuff I have internalised myself and don't recognise as an issue
Like idk but I feel like the takeaway from Hbomberguy and Toddintheshadow's videos should maybe be "be aware of such patterns in your communities bc they definitely exist" and not "this guy is uniquely awful" and I feel like a lot of the discussion I've seen surrounding this has been severely failing at that. Most ppl who've spent any significant amount of time on tumblr prob either have internalised at least one of those thought patterns, have had to de-internalise them, or have had to be extremely vigilant to not internalise them (which is done by, you know, seeking out other sources, which also seemed like an important takeaway from the videos)
