Dear Minors,
As someone who considered themself a close friend of hongjoongswifefr, I feel devastated, betrayed and honestly hurt that I found out she was actually a minor and not an adult.
You guys need to realize that not only invading adult spaces is disgusting, it’s harmful to us. You’re directly putting us in danger of getting involved with law enforcement. I trained to be a police officer for a couple of years. So I know. And it’s common knowledge.
It is harmful for you to even been talking to adults to begin with. You are a CHILD. We are adults. We do not care how mature or smart you think you are. We are BEGGING you to stop interacting with us and our nsfw content. Yes, you can chat with us about our safe works! But we cannot be friends.
I’m not going to include the messages from the chat between Bellah and our group chat, because honestly, it isn’t gonna change anything. You only told us because you got caught, which frankly, is annoying and your apology didn’t mean anything, you’re just sorry you got caught. Feel free to be an asshole in my inbox because I don’t care at the point. We adults need our safe spaces AWAY from children. Please stop disrespecting and disregarding our boundaries.
Thank you.
Update: she has changed her username to @/whyimebenhere

MINORS ARE PEOPLE TOO
MINORS DESERVE VOICES TOO.
Protests as kids/minors often get left out as we aren’t able to do physically as much as adults, however that doesn’t mean our protests don’t matter. It means we have to find other means. So when our means (example; social media) get threatened we have to come together to make sure we have our voices heard, no matter what or how.

Read an article by a high school senior today that went, just when my friends and I should be trying out many perspectives and figuring out where we stand, we're self-censoring, following familiar scripts. I had to wonder: if we spend our teenage years afraid that we might share our thoughts in the wrong way or at the wrong moment, how is this affecting a crucial ingredient in becoming an adult: the ability to think critically?
They went on to say, they see teenagers unintentionally becoming more unforgiving and judgmental, as opposed to open-minded and compassionate. And when we can't (or don't) talk freely, we lose the chance to find common ground, acknowledge complexity, or grasp that our own opinions can be malleable. If we listen only to people who already agree with us, we won’t make wider connections. We won't grow.
"In other words, we’re growing older, but we’re not growing up."
I think that explains a lot about what we're seeing online and in other spaces now.
The article is by Zach Gottlieb.

Hi everyone. I felt the need to make a general post to address and explain the issue with minors lying about their age. This is important, so reblogs are very much appreciated.
───────────────────
Dear minors/people under 18/people who fall under any sort of child protection laws:
Lying about your age is not harmless.
───────────────────
Look, I get it, I'm fairly young myself. I understand being a horny teen and wanting to enjoy all the fun adult content. I really do.
Because of this, it may seem harmless to you to just tell a little lie and say you're 18 and above when people ask, just like everyone clicks the "I'm 18" button on adult websites without a second thought.
But it's not harmless.
If you lie about your age to be admitted into adult spaces where nsfw content, especially of sexual nature, is shared/sexual conversations are taking place/erotic roleplays are happening/people are creating sexual content together, all the adults involved could potentially be liable for not-so-fun things such as dissemination of pornographic content (see for example section 184 of the German Criminal Code, paragraph 1 numbers 1, 2, 3a and 5 in regards to minors).
Going into legal details is pointless, since anything I may have to tell you is pretty useless for anyone who isn't subject to the same laws and justice system as I am.
So to be very clear: We are talking about potential crimes here. And I think I speak for most adults when I say that we don't have any intentions to do such things. It's also important to note that we usually don't have any means to verify anyone's age or identity beyond a shadow of a doubt; such is the nature of the internet and us being mostly anonymous users.
So what I need you, dear minors, to understand is that you lying about your age is not harmless and can cause serious issues for other people involved.
I understand you may be frustrated by what I'm saying here. But you also need to understand that these laws are designed to protect you and that those over 18 not only wish to protect you, but also themselves.
To be clear, I am not blaming any victims. Each case is unique and I have intentions of making any blanket statements to be applied to individual cases.
And I do realize I am talking to young people who most likely never meant any harm - which is precisely why I'm taking the time to explain this. I know no one just magically achieves wisdom the moment they turn 18, I know you guys are smart and empathetic people too and understand my point.
Thank you for reading. I appreciate everyone who is honest about their status and does what they can to be considerate of their fellow human beings out there.
───────────────────
Edit: Addition/clarification.
Tldr: There's no need to disclose one's exact age everywhere and at all times, especially since it can be a major risk, but there are situations in which the question is warranted/it's necessary for everyone involved to disclose their status and in these situations the minor should be honest about that so the adults involved can behave accordingly and appropriately.

hihi!! i really love ur writing and all your series (CBBH, drink snob, AMWAP) and all the rest. they’re just so beautifully crafted and it shows you put a lot of of thought into every fic.
i was just wondering what are your boundaries with minors on your blog? i didn’t see anything about it so i’ve refrained from interacting to make you comfortable but, i just thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
thank you! <3
Uhm wow, first of all - I love you! Thank you so much, and I'm very glad you've enjoyed my works!
Second of all, I think this is a really good question and I appreciate you bringing this up
I posted the first part of The Drink Snob & Come Back, Be Here when I had zero (0) followers. I was enjoying reading fanfics by writers on the platform, and I had some of my own that I figured I'd share. I never really imagined my fics would get any attention - let alone the amount of attention they've since received! I've also gained a lot of followers since then, so I do suppose it would be good to acknowledge the fact that not all Tumblr users or Marauder's fans are over 18.
I swear a LOT. Like....a lot a lot....and so do my characters (specifically our werewolf mcswearwolf). I think to in order to remain authentic to myself as well as who I believe these characters to be - I won't stop that. Some of my jokes/content/references may be a little mature or slightly 'inappropriate', as well.
I haven't posted anything particularly steamy/smutty - I've never been requested nor have I ever tried. I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to trying - however, if I do post something like that I would put the appropriate content warnings on the post.
All-in-all: I think you are responsible for the content you consume on the internet. I don't like the idea of restricting access to my works to a demographic on the off chance someone may find it inappropriate or uncomfortable - so I won't, but I'm also trusting that minors will be responsible and knowledgable when it comes to the kind of content they may find across Tumblr.
TL;DR - you are welcome to interact with my blog so long as you're safe, aware, and mindful of both yourself and those around you.
Thanks for asking, my love 🫶

not you saying you won’t age up character or do smut yet write a sexual tension shit ☠️
PLEASE READ! (I think I speak for all authors when I say this)
Why are y’all so mad about the fact that I, a minor, don’t want to write smut about minors? It’s actually creepy and uncomfortable. Sexual tension means tension between two people that aren’t lovers yet but know they both want each other—the word “sexual” doesn’t always equal smut or lust. I can’t believe I even have to explain this. Saying this anonymously to complain about how I disagree to write smut about minors and trying to pin me as a hypocrite is so pathetic. I had three people calling me disgusting and a pedophile when I’ve never wrote smut nor anything leading up to it. I don’t care if a minor wants to write smut, you do you. Me, personally, I don’t want to. It’s uncomfortable. And it’s so weird when adults request minors aged up to request plots like smut and pregnancy. That’s why I don’t allow requesting aged up characters.
I was a fanfic author on Wattpad, @/honeyshoyo. My fanfics blew up and I got a lot of reads, but I had so many comments disrespecting my culture, my language, or hating in general, so I just quit writing.
I came onto tumblr because I wanted to start fresh away from Wattpad, seeing all the minifics and oneshots and amazing authors on here, but seeing these type of comments so early on into the start of this account is honestly concerning. Writing becomes not fun anymore when people on the internet who don’t even know me try to paint me as a pedophile or a hypocrite. It’s annoying and disgusting.
If you’re an author, I beg of you to repost this because I know damn well I’m not the only one EXHAUSTED of this unnecessary hate.

The whole "I'm x age, don't interact with me if you're x years older or younger than that" is so weird to me.
When I was a teen, I was on forums where nobody knew each other's ages and there was only an occasional sign of that stuff, like "oh this person went to a bar or this person voted for x president". There was no weirdness about whether the people replying to me were 5 (or whatever) years older.
Because it literally didn't matter to me? It wasn't even a factor in the topic of the forum, we all had a shared interest and that's all that mattered. There definitely wasn't a weird onus on everyone to give their age publicly either.
Plus looking back, all the best advice, and the calmest reactions to forum drama etc, all came from the adults and frankly, I credit em with a lot of lessons I learned as a kid.

At some point, parents have got to get it through their heads that people on the internet aren't their children's babysitters. Not everywhere in the world is going to cater to children. It's literally their job, as parents, to keep their children safe in this world that's often very much not safe for them.
Adults get on the internet for adult experiences. Your children are literally not other adults' problems. It's your responsibility, as parents, to create an appropriate environment for your children to grow, learn, and thrive. If all you want is for others to keep an eye on your children, then why the hell did you have them? Did you think being parents means you don't actually have to raise your own offsprings?
Look, some of us, we're happy to lend a hand. Gods know, parenting is one of the hardest things knowing to humankind. But at the end of the day? You're the parents. It's on you.

A Question for Teenage Moots/Minors and Strangers
Hey guys, I am starting the process of trying to write the book that I needed as a undiagnosed adhd-er, likely undiagnosed high-functioning autistic who was rejected by almost everyone I cared about.
The thing is, I'm 30 years old now and while I'm still dealing with the trauma of some of those experiences, things have certainly changed. I want this book to mean something and to actually be helpful so I have some questions for you guys. Feel free to reblog to answer, or send me an anonymous ask. Just trying to dial this idea in:
What are you guys tired of seeing in media geared toward you?
What feels patronizing?
What doesn't help?
What just makes you feel worse?
What do you feel like is the source/cause of your struggles?
I really appreciate anyone who is willing to share and would really appreciate a reblog if you feel comfortable, I am trying to get as many eyes on this as possible.
Going to gently tag some moots I know are minors/teens, but please don't feel at all pressured to answer or even acknowledge the post:

Adult Users on Tumblr trying to ruin Minor Users
Now this isn't a jab to every single adult user here on tumblr, but it's definitely to a few of them. I was scrolling through some tags earlier, mainly call of duty, modern warfare, konig, etc. and this one post I came across was this adult user posting about a minors blog and saying to "beware and report their account." How do people, especially adults get the audacity? They said this in the name of "it's uncomfortable," "minors shouldn't be writing about dark fics," etc. Take a rain check here people, anyone and everyone can write whatever the fuck they want. Regardless of them being a MINOR. You don't get to screenshot others blogs, post on your own blog and then tell your followers to report their account because you are uncomfortable and don't like it. In all honestly, it's even creepier that this person took the time to screenshot this minors blog to tell others. They could have just blocked them, it's that simple. If a minor is writing a dark fic, that's their business. It's for them to enjoy and other minors to enjoy because minors are allowed to read this stuff. Half the time they write and read it's for other minors because adult blogs don't want minors interacting with their own blogs and I get it. But minors need their own community too, where they can write and read what they want and aren't alienated from a community cause of their age. Sorry, I had to rant because this just pissed me off. Let minors read and write whatever the fuck they want, many, if not all of us were minors reading this shit too at one point. And, if you're the person who posted the screenshot of that minors blog, go fuck yourself.
If you're the minor whose blog got posted by the adult blog where they told others to beware and report your account, I'm sorry. They have/had zero right to do that. There's a block button for a damn reason, start using it adult blogs and leave minors alone.

Radfems and terfs reblog my posts and disseminate them to other moronic bigots and in my efforts to clean my notes I get exposed to some of the most unhinged content I have ever seen, but what honestly makes me sad, what honestly hurts my heart more than anything isn't the weird memes or strange arguments or how they'll take anything a single trans person does as something every trans person does or how they take any kind of ironic internet meme about being trans and get real fucking weird about it.
No, what makes me hurt the most is how many of these radfems have their age in their bios and how so many of them are only 18 or 19 or sometimes they're minors
And like wow, you poor child being brainwashed by bigots into believing that your sisters are your oppressors
I truly hope you grow up and realize just how much the radfem/terf community has truly ruined you and how you think and how you operate in this world, I hope one day you wake up to the bigotry they have implanted in your heart and you do the necessary work to deprogram yourself from their brainwashing.
I'm still gonna block you tho ✌️
I am not the bitch to save you from the bigotry, that is not my job, do what you gotta do and find an actual adult in your life to deprogram you from what the internet radfems did to you and stop adding yourself to the number of Gen Alpha kids who will be voting for Trump 2.0 when you're in your 40s

I cannot imagine growing up in today's online climate, with how pronounced the paranoia and performative mindsets over media consumption are.
I watched so many movies and read so many books as a kid. It must be exhausting, having to stop prior to seeing any kind of media and checking if it is somehow "okay" to consume, and okay to share the fact you've consumed it with your peers. Imagine the mental stress that would cause, especially because according to this whole purity culture panic, the main punishment for looking at the wrong media is ostracism.
Humans are not built to handle ostracism well. We're social animals because we die if we're alone, so being ostracized has an enormous psychological impact on us. So the stakes here are ludicrously high. And for what? Whether someone enjoys the Saw franchise, or reads Lolita, or finds the Lannister's relationship fascinating, or has a rape kink?
The pressure to find ways to account for your missteps, to prove you're not as "dirty" as people think you are, is absurdly intense as well. And it is always there. Posting online means you can be seen anytime by anyone, so the sense of accountability is high. The sad thing is, accountability means a dozen different things to a dozen different people. So even if you tie yourself into knots trying to be "good" and "morally superior", at some point, someone is going to point out how you, too, are a "degenerate" like everyone else, just because you didn't meet their strict standards. And at that point it won't matter if you "aren't really a bad person". They won't care, just like you didn't care. They will still attack you. It's really only a matter of time.
And if you don't think it will happen to you, well, that's what everyone else thought too.

I wanted to ask about something: does the rpf of real minors considered CSEM? If not, does that mean tha CSEM is just refering to pictures of real minors?
That would come down to the legal parameters of where the work was created and/or hosted but in general, no, because no actual minor is being exploited. The 'material' isn't real and there's no visual to try and present it as such.
(In the way that hyper-realistic artwork or photo manipulations would. Technically the material itself is fake but it was created with the aim of presenting it as real, or assumed as real.)
That, and, it can be incredibly difficult to actually manage all the different criteria of what makes it a crime or not, and what qualities tip it over into the league of actionable.
In some countries its technically illegal, but rarely if ever actually prosecuted or acted against. In much the same way that technically, a lot of fan-made merchandise is illegal, but the companies and trademarks only ever enact a strike when the gets 'too big.'
The gist is, barring very few exceptions, and fewer still actual prosecutions, no. It is not.

I’ll be honest, all DNI stuff or “must have age in bio” or whatever is crazy to me. The idea that you expect people to not lie on the internet is wild, and maybe it’s just cause I’m older. But if Im 12 and I put that I’m 19 on my tumblr page, how are you gonna fact check that?
I’ve been signing up for websites and clicking the “I’m 18” box since middle school. But I also understood when I lied about my age that that meant I had to take responsibility for what I saw, and I was the only person to blame if I saw something I didn’t like. The website did its job, and I ignored the warning (*cough*ao3 censor people*cough*).
And the DNI, I just….how are you going to check that? Good faith? Sure, some people will follow that, but again, this is the fucking internet! People lie!
When I was a kid everyone was taught not to share info online, and now it seems like if you don’t people think you’re hiding how horrible a person you are. It’s wild and unsafe. I would much rather not know anything about my followers other than what they post, and them not know anything more about me.
I’m a 29 year old American woman. Or am I a 30 year old Canadian man? Or am I twelve year old pretending to be an adult? How can you know for sure?
