After a period of delay, the study has finally been re-activated!!
I hate to spam tags, but I need about 50-75 more participants for my dissertation study looking at the impact of non-affirming Christianity on LGBT sexuality. Participants may be former or current Christians, from either affirming or non-affirming backgrounds/faiths. You must be at least 18 and have been sexually active to participate. You do not need to be from the United States. The study should take approximately 20-40 minutes and there is a $50 Amazon gift card raffle you can enter upon completion.
I'd really, really appreciate your participation, and it would really help forward understanding of how religion can impact people, especially queer people! Feel free to forward this to people you may know who might be interested.
(The survey is now closed as data collection is complete. Thanks to everyone who participated!)
You can contact me here or at [email protected] with any questions.

Enamoured with CatholicMatch because it is acceptable to reject the Nicene Creed on there but not to be gay.
You can be gay you just have to pay for premium.

“If you want to be a housewife you’re a victim of the patriarchy!”
Oh just wait until they find out I’d do the exact same for a woman.

You've probably been asked this before, but what is your stance with the LGBT+ community? Are you for trans rights? I am Catholic myself and keep seeing wildly different takes from other Catholics, but want to know your opinion on it.
This is probably not gonna be worded well and I apologize for that
I'm a side b Catholic, so I believe people in the LGBT community, like myself, can acknowledge our sexuality and still have a holy life and completely follow the Church's teachings (which is being celibate and not acting on homosexual or transsexual feelings and temptations). I'm for trans rights in that I believe everyone has a right to live their lives without fear of oppression, hate, and violence, but I do not support transitioning or acting as though you are a gender that you aren't because God does not put people in the wrong bodies. Much like my beliefs on homosexuality, gender dysphoria is part of the Fall so I believe that it should be accepted in that it exists and someone with it is not incapable of having a relationship with God and doesn't have to "get rid of it" or "heal" from it in order to enter Heaven, but shouldn't be accepted in that the desire to change one's gender identity and body to fit it should not be acted on, though I know people have the freedom to pursue that and I don't hate or think less of anyone who does

I dream of living in a cute cottage, baking cookies in pretty aprons, tending to a garden of homegrown fruits and vegetables, taking care of someone I love and going to church every Sunday…
According to the internet, this makes me a bigger threat to feminism than anything they’ve ever seen before.

I do not consent to k*nk interaction. (I am a minor).

Jesus to me is like a really cool older brother. We have the same Mom, he would do anything (including die) for me, and he wants to see me grow in a way that matters. He's proud of me and he loves me, but he's not afraid to lecture me if I need it. He's gentle and angry at the same time, all the time. But like every sibling dynamic, we're not the best at keeping in contact 💀

I hate the idea that some people within the Church have, which is that the only people who have ssa have it due to some form of childhood trauma. Do some people do? Absolutely. Someone in my family credits their homosexuality to the abuse they endured as a child and that's important to acknowledge and talk about. But that's not the case for everyone. It's not for me. It can just happen, to anyone at any time

If there are any lgbt+ folks out there who are Christian or who are exploring the Christian faith, then I’d really appreciate it if you’d like this post :’) Trying to find other people who can relate to my struggles and my journey.
Feel free to interact regardless of how you define your lgbt identity or how confident you are in your faith. I’m looking to connect with all sorts of people with differing backgrounds and opinions. Your blog doesn’t have to be faith-centered or sexuality-centered either.

Introduction <3
Hi! I’m Lena (fake name of anonymity because id prefer if people didn’t find my socials). I wanted to give y’all a little rundown of who I am and what u might find on my blog!
For starters, I’m 17, turning 18 in a few months (scary), I’m a lesbian, and I’m slowly but surely rebuilding my connection with God. I grew up Catholic and I spent almost 5 years away from him after I realized I was queer but now that I’m older, I realized that God made me this way on purpose and I don’t have to be alone for the rest of my life just because of my sexuality. I’m allowed to fall in love because at the end of the day my love isn’t hurting anyone. Call me a cherry-picker if you want but this is what I have come to believe.
I’m trying to rebuild my faith, seeing as though I never got too deep in the first place, aka I never finished reading the Bible but I’m starting from scratch and starting my reading. I pray when I’m alone to try and build the connection because even though my family is religious (yet very accepting and supportive of my sexuality), I’m embarrassed to tell them I want to find God again.
That enough of my lore though! Here are some other things y’all will find on here
-modest fashion
-mental health discussions
-catholic architecture
-MITSKI (I love mitski she’s my bae)
-general coquettish aesthetics
-sonny angels
-calico critters
-and my everlasting love of K-pop and other artists and fandoms
Hope y’all will join me on my adventure!

do you know about our lady of montevergine? apparently she's the patron of lgbt catholics but i can't find any good sources at all
There aren’t any official sources about her. Apparently, she’s a black Madonna but I can’t find anything linking her to LGBT people.
The closest I found was from US Catholic. But take that with a can of salt.

Side A Christians, you are not less loved by God because you are Side A. Side B Christians, your experiences with being LGBT+ are not less because you are Side B. Side A and Side B Christians, we may disagree on some things, but we are not enemies. We are siblings in Christ, loved by Him and who love Him. No matter our differences, we have that in common. We have suffered a lack of understanding from other Christians and from other LGBT+ people alike, but we take comfort in knowing that Christ sees and understands us. I love you all and know that Christ loves you no matter what.
