Pokemon and Hunter x Hunter as decided by my friend @doodle-storm after only seeing Hunter Exam and Zoldyck Family Arcs... Part 2!!! As always friend, add onto this post if there's any reasoning I've missed!

Netero: Medicham (I think the rationale here was that despite looking a little goofy, it's actually quite strong. I think this guy is very appropriate for Netero, for reasons I can't tell my friend yet.)

Hanzo: Greninja (It's a ninja pokemon. However, my friend laments the fact that Greninja is not bald enough, nor does it have "bedazzled eyebrows". She has therefore made an entire team for Hanzo that is purely comprised of bald and bedazzled eyebrow pokemon. She took this very seriously I'll have you know.)

Pokkle: Decidueye (An archer! She hopes Pokkle gets to finish his pokedex.)

Satotz: Omanyte (I honestly can't remember the initial reasoning but they both have mustaches and no visible mouth so that's cool.)

Menchi: Dachsbun (Bread dog. As befitting a Gourmet Hunter.)

Buhara: Snorlax (Probably needs little elaboration.)

Lippo: Rotom (Because of all the cameras in the prison and the fact that he operated from behind screens using electronics.)

Beans: Politoed (She can picture politoed in an identical suit.)

Tonpa: Trubbish (...she does not like Tonpa very much.)

Ponzu: Beedrill (Bee pokemon. She has bees in her hat.)

Bendot: Machoke (He's a fighter pokemon. Also he was going to choke Tonpa so there's that too.)

Sedokan: Litwick (It's a candle. It's also got one eye hidden.)

Majitani: Wishiwashi (We spent a long time trying to find a pokemon that sort of gives that impression of guy trying to look way more intimidating than he is... She decided on Wishiwashi because its school form is powerful but it also reverts back to weaker solo form when wounded.)

Leroute: Salazzle (I did not know there were pokemon people thirsted for and I don't think I needed to know that. Anyways, Salazzle is kind of an exotic creature and she was involved in exotic animal trafficking so. Checks out.)

Johness the Dissector: none. (She tried to think of one but really couldn't. We both kind of agreed that he probably wouldn't have any on account of... probably killing them.)

Geretta: Aromatisse (I don't know lol. I think this was just vibes.)

Agon: Galarian Farfetch'd (He appeared to have been a fencer so I think this was the closest thing. Plus eyebrows.)

Bodoro: Gallade (She was trying to think of an honourable type of pokemon. I don't think she was entirely sold on Gallade, especially since she gave Kurapika one later on, but we moved on.)

Bourbon: Seviper (Viper for the snake charmer.)

Nicholas: Abra (Abra just kind of sleeps, and though Nicholas tried to predict the Hunter Exam, he wasn't prepared for it, so I think that was the rationale here.)

Siper: Inteleon (A sniper pokemon for the sniper. I questioned why she was giving this minor character a pokemon when I'm pretty sure she didn't even have a speaking line, to which she replied, and I quote, "Yeah, but I want her to step on me.")

Sommy: Aipom (Mischievous monkey for the monkey trainer.)

Todo: Hariyama (Sumo pokemon for the sumo guy.)

Amori Brothers: Falinks (Yes, all three of them have the same pokemon. They work together for team attacks and so do the brothers. Do not separate.)

Zeno: Roaring Moon (I brought up Zeno's association with dragons. She liked the vibe of this one for him.)

Silva: Kommo-o (I think she wanted to keep the dragon theming. ...she also refers to Silva as "evil He-Man". Just thought you should know.)

Kikyo: Hatterene (She picked this one because of its elegant look... and the fact that it attacks anyone who is too loud or hostile within its home range.)

Illumi: Ferrothorn (It's absolutely perfect omg. She said it attacks using spikes and thorns, and it also "has the eyes". She also cheerfully informed me it's weak to fire. She does not like Illumi very much.)

Milluki: Forretress (Also has the eyes, and stays in a shell. It shoots things I think. She was trying to pick one that calls to mind Milluki's bombs.)

Kalluto: Kartana (I mentioned Kalluto's association with paper, so she picked this one.)

Gotoh: Meowth (For the coin association. Also she thought it'd be kind of funny if all the butlers had cat or cat-like pokemon.)

Canary: Espeon (Because it evolves based on friendship... augh... also vibes.)

Zebro: Cinccino (Zebro's kind of the janitor, and Cinccino likes to clean, if I'm remembering correctly? Also it's kind of disarmingly cute and harmless looking, which fits Zebro's "taking the key from the hapless guard" shtick.)

Seaquant: Watchog (Vibes, I'm pretty sure. hjdfkbvdshjvh)

Sypnosis: As a new student in school, MC encountered her first bullying of the school year. But despite the unfortunate circumstance, she found herself in, a certain silver-haired student council helped her.

[Name] [Surname] is a transfer student at Hunter Academy. [Name] is seen to be shy and quiet girl, but has the intelligence that attract boys, and all of the girls in class became very envious of her.

"Hey! [Surname], come with us," a 16-year-old teenage girl commanded. She has teal hair and blue eyes and is known as Neon Nostrade.

"Huh? But where are we going?" [Name] asked.

"Just come with us!" another teen grabbed her arms.

Neon and her group of girls went to the rooftop while dragging [Name] all the way there. After they released her there, they circled her.

"You shouldn't have transferred here!" Hina boomed, and her brown eyes sparkled with rage.

"Why?" the [h/l] [h/c]-haired female asked innocently.

"Because of you, my boyfriend didn't love me anymore! He always tries to avoid me and I always see him giving you gifts! How dare you!" the blonde girl yelled at [Name].

"I'm sorry, but, I didn't do anything," she excused.

"This is all your fault!" Hina slapped the poor girl very hard.

Neon 'hmph'-ed' then crossed her arms. "Now, have you learned your lesson of not messing with us?"

"Tell me... why do you guys have to do this? I told you that I didn't do anything, right? Are you that jealous?" [Name] snapped and asked them a stern question, giving emphasis on that certain word while showing her emotionless but intimidating looks. The pain of the earlier slap didn't seem to hurt her.

"Why you-!" Neon got pissed by her attitude and then slapped the [h/l] [h/c]-haired girl once again.

[Name] was kept being slapped by 5 girls as she stood there defenseless. She kept putting on a strong face which made the girls more irritated.

"Why do you keep putting on that face?!" the blue-haired female asked with an angry tone.

"That's because I'm innocent, I kept on having this face to keep me strong. I don't mean to make you angry, but you hurt people like you don't care at all, but when you are heartbroken, it is like the world is gonna end," [Name] remarked, her cheeks swelling and becoming red because of the pain.

"Wha-! You-!" Nostrade is about to slap her again but was stopped by a hand.

"Neon, don't you think that hurting other students is against the school rules?" a 16-year-old teenage boy told the shocked female. He had snow-white hair and oceanic-blue eyes.

"Ah! Uh.... um... Zoldyck-kun, I'm sorry to violate the rules. I'm just teaching her a lesson," she reasoned as sweat appear on her forehead.

"Neon, Hina, Ponzu, Rengoku, Anita, and Leroute, leave this place immediately!" he ordered sternly.

"But, Zoldyck-kun!" Hina tried to protest.

"No buts, Hina. You girls knew what are the rules, right?" the Zoldyck asked once again. They all nodded slowly.

"Now leave! If you don't want me to report this to Kurapika!"

The females were threatened by the white-haired male and hurriedly left the rooftop, leaving only [Name] and the mysterious savior of hers.

"Are you alright, [Surname]-san?" he asked sweetly as he offered her a hand.

"Y-yes, thank you for saving me, Zoldyck-san..." [Name] thanked the male, and a smile appeared on her lips. She took his hand and they walked down the stairs.

"Please, call me Killua instead," he gave her a bright smile.

"Killua..." she muttered unconsciously as they descend the stairs, her eyes stuck on his hand that was holding hers. The warm sensation of his touch made her heart skip a beat, her red cheeks could possibly turn even darker because of this moment.

"Hm...? What it is?" he looked back at her. [Name]'s eyes widened in shock because of what she had said accidentally.

"I-it's nothing..." She avoided his gaze and then looked down.

Killua, watching her actions, became worried about the transfer student. "Please, whenever you need help, just call my name. I am willing to help because we are now friends," Killua told her with sincerity, placing his other hand on top of hers and flashing her a gentle smile.

[Name] finally looked into his mesmerizing eyes once again, with her heart beating fast, cheeks flushing red, and nervousness all over her. She smiles with closed eyes.

"Yeah!"

Hunter x Hunter Chapter 19 - The Trap of Majority rules

Okay so I’ll try to finish third phase or at least Leroute’s trial today.

I just thought again of one japanese contestant for miss universe (I think maybe I remember well which miss contest it was) that said Leorio was her type when they asked.

I agree with Kurapika here. Ending a life when it’s unnecessary because he was ready to give up is meaningless. Kurapika is not the kind of person to stoop as low as that.

To be honest I’m surprised everytime about this reaction of Leorio. I know he was stressed and probably upset at that time but it’s not a reason to be so adamant about killing him.

Also he tends to be loud yes but he is not cruel or easily ready to kill people. Punch them yes of course but not killing them.

Killua is a nice guy too, unlike Leorio he argues but won’t go against Kurapika’s decision.

And that Theydies and Gentlethem is HxH first Great Wall of Text. 

You know there isn’t a day when I can’t think of this when I think of voting and choosing as a group. Since I was 6-8 years old and I first saw this.

When I think of places I’d spend a decent amount of time with the HxH gang, I think of this place. There is some other ones but that’s one of the first. When I think of Hunter x Hunter exam arc I’m mentally brough back to this small corridor leading to the void. Leorio sulking, Kurapika being a badass, Gon and Killua doing whatever being kids and Tonpa being a nuisance.

So can we agree Togary was the examiner Hisoka tried to kill the previous year ? That means he was a hunter that knew nen at least and was somewhat skilled. I’m sure nen was already in Togashi’s head and he tried to show it as subtly as he could.

so as a nen geek I’ll try to analyse Togari’s style a bit.

Last time he was only using one serp. Was he throwing it ? Or just fought at close range. Probably the latter so I’d say he is an enhancer. (♣ still putting the symbols from the french translation to see if they still change them past volume 2)

You know he still managed to hurt Hisoka decently. You would probably bleed out quickly if you were cut at those spots. (Maybe he used bungee gum to stop the bleeding I don’t know)

Anyway so I think those serps are controlled with some manipulator skills. Of course he isn’t that good at manipulation. I said he was an enhancer as he mainly fought close range before and his manipulation doesn’t seem to exceed what Guido can do with his tops.

Also those serps trajectory is not really normal.

He spent one year just trying to learn to catch them. I doubt he could learn to perfectly control the trajectory of those in that time.

That’s the end of the chapter. It’s also one of my favorite of the exams and mainly because of Tonpa’s monologue. It’s his best character moment probably.
