What percentage of our time do we spend on withholds and grudges? How is that energy investing in our wellbeing? Is it helping to resolve our differences? Does it guide us in moving onward with greater wisdom?  After we have been hurt or wronged, we may wrestle with our perceived injustices in the aftermath: How can this happen to me? I don’t deserve this. The hardships we face may test our ties…

The Makings of Magic
The Makings of Magic
Welcome to TaoCraft Tarot blog and podcast. I’m glad you are here. Today we are drawing from the Alleyman’s Tarot by Seven Dane Asmund of Publishing Goblin LLC, used with permission. It’s a big deck, with one booster pack already in it and yes, you bet I’m planning on getting the other booster packs if possible. I’m not a collector by nature, but I’ve been around collectors and I understand the…

Unknown Road Ahead
Chapter 3
A/n: Hi there! Thanks for reading this. I am so sorry for being late on this! I  was busy with other fanfiction and trying to find a job. As well, I know Lego Monkie Kid Season 4 is out. I love it, but i haven't seen all of it. So anything in S4 most likely won't be in this fiction (At least not until i have seen it all). I hope you enjoy it! Sorry for the spelling and grammar errors.
(Y/n) walked into a grand hall, all she could see was Queen Xiwangmu on her throne by her was her sleeping tiger. Besides, the Queen stood Lao Tzu. Both look disappointed and disheartened.
"My Queen," (Y/n) said as she bowed her head.
"Please raise your head, (y/n)." Queen Xiwangmu spoke, "(Y/n), you had the task of overlooking the immortal peaches. From what others have heard and seen. You did more than that." As the maiden looked at the Queen, she could see the sorrow in her eyes. The Queen had known (Y/n) for so long, and her faithfulness to her. She trusted her more than her other color maidens. Now, seeing (Y/n) here, to give judgment from her.
It was too much for both.
Lao Tzu spoke, "yes, every celestial spirit said you were keeping an eye on that sun Wukong. But it seems it was a waste of time! He had done so much damage to the celestial realm!" (Y/n) head flinched as he began to exclaim the mistake she had made.
The Queen's gaze at him, causing him to continue more calmly, "seeing the damage he had ruined and the people he harmed. The Queen had trusted you, and you failed her." The maiden felt a sting in her heart as Lao Tzu spoke.
"Not because of the monkey, but committing the crime of eating the immortal peach with Wukong." He said as she bit her lip. Her eyes widen in dread as her thoughts race, 'who witnessed them that night?'
Lao Tzu motioned towards the door, and it opened. Out comes one of your sisters in tears. "I'm sorry, (Y/n). I knew you were with Wukong. I said nothing because I trusted you and your decision, but you changed so much. And then I saw you were with him and ate the fruit." She hiccuped, "(Y/n) you've crossed a line."
Lau Tzu exclaimed, "How could you do that? Was that the true reason why you kept visiting him?" The Queen stared at Lau Tzu because of his tone. "Lau Tzu, calm down."
(Y/n) stood still, uncertain how to explain her reason. She took a deep breath as she spoke, "I have no excuse for my actions in seeing Sun Wukong. But eating the peach was not my motivation." She looked at the Queen as she continued.
"It started as a concern for the garden, but as I continued to visit Wukong. I developed emotions and yearned to be with him." (Y/n) face fell to the ground in sorrow at her mistake.
" Wukong had made a promise to me when we ate the fruit to be by my side." (Y/n) bit the inside of her lip as Lao Tzu grunted before speaking, "How could you permit your feelings to take over during a crucial time! And look at where you are now! He disappeared, leaving you alone."
(Y/n) dropped to her knees as a flood of tears poured down her cheeks. "I apologize, my Queen. I know there's nothing I can do to earn your mercy."
Before Lau Tzu could continue, the Queen raised her hand, quieting the man. The Queen walked to the heartbroken maiden and kneeled before she gently took her hands, "(Y/n), I have known you for so long and relayed on you and your sisters. You had never failed me when it came to orders and responsibilities." She continues, " I can see you had your heart broken by Wukong. I do not blame you for his actions at the festival."
Her face soon showed sadness as she went on. "But part taking in eating the immortal peach has its consequences." She held (Y/n)'s hand a bit tighter. (Y/n) bite her inner lip, and she understood what she had done was unforgivable. Nothing she could say would help her. The Queen slowly let go of her hand and stood up.
Lau Tzu cleared his voice before speaking,
"(Y/n), the (f/c) immortal peach maid, for the offense of eating the immortal peach. You are exiled from the celestial realm."
(Y/n)'s eyes wanted to cry, but there were no more tears. She knew what she did was indefensible, believing in Sun Wukong. As the maiden rose from the floor, a loud slam erupted. Everyone turned to see it was, Nezha entering the room, huffing, out of breath.
"Please don't punish (Y/n)!" He said, but it was already too late. Lau Tzu said, "It's already been decided. I advise you, third lotus princes, to leave immediately before you also get in trouble with her."
"But (Y/n) has done nothing wrong! It was all that Monkey !" He said as he stood beside (Y/n), whose head was looking at the floor. "That's not why I'm here, Nezha… I ate an immortal peach…" She took a deep breath as she continued. "That's why I'm here." She slowly turned it on him. Nezha didn't want to believe it, that his friend would risk everything to be with 'HIM'! It felt like a stab in the back, but he didn't want her to go.
The room was silent for a few seconds before The Queen said lamentably, "It's time."
Nezha looked at her, confused about what she meant. But the (f/c) maiden knew what she meant, (Y/n) tried to stand tall even as she felt her hands trembling. "What do you mean?" Nezha asked. The doors opened, and a few servants and guards came in. The servants drew on the ground a ring with writing and symbols.
"(Y/n) the (f/c) maiden. You'll be heading to the mortal realm." Queen Xiwangmu said as the ring started to glow with golden light and the wind began to blow forcefully. (Y/n) looked at the now-made portal before she walked toward it. Nezha tried to prevent her from stepping in, but guards jumped in front of him. The (f/c) maiden stares at the ring before stepping into it, accepting her fate. Just as she stepped into the ring, Nezha cried, "(Y/n)!!" as she disappeared from the celestial realm.
The former peach maiden felt her surroundings transform as she closed her eyes and held her breath. It was only for a moment before everything settle down, and (Y/n) soon opened her eyes. She looked around to find herself in a grassy meadow with trees and a road nearby.
She was now truly alone.
It felt like she was the only being in the world as she collected her thoughts. (Y/n) quickly noticed her attire felt different, looking down and saw it had turned to mortal garments to blend in.
"… Now what…" She said quietly to herself. She walked to a tree nearby and sat down. "What do I do…" she whispered as she felt her eyes, become heavy with fatigue. (Y/n) felt emotionally drained from the day's events. Soon her fatigue made her fall asleep.
~Back with Nezha~
In the celestial realm, Nezha was dismayed. He saw his cherished friend vanish in front of him,"(Y/n)!" He shoved the servants holding him back. Rushing towards the ring, or what remained. "Where did she go!" He demanded as he fell to his knees. "She is now somewhere in the mortal plane." Lau Tzu said. It was quiet for a moment before a voice broke the silence.
"Everyone leave the room. I want to speak to Nezha alone." Queen Xiwangnu ordered, making Lau Tzu and everyone else leave till it was just Queen Xiwangmu and Nezha.
Nezha tried to hold in his tear as best he could, but one ran down his cheeks. Queen Xiwangmu walked toward the teary prince, "Nezha. It was a difficult decision, but it had to be done." She took a deep breath before continuing, "If you still wish to see (Y/n). It would be best to search for her privately." She said as she lifted her hand, opening another ring.
Nezha looked at her, confused, "But why would you help me?" He asked her. "I need to know if she made it there, safe and sound." The Queen expressed worried for (Y/n). Nezha nodded his head as he entered the ring to the mortal plane.
Nezha covered his eyes from the blinding lights as he felt his surroundings shift. Soon he felt everything around him settle down. He opened his eyes and looked around, seeing a sunset near the mountains and forests surrounding him."(Y/n), please be safe." He whispered as he used his fire wheels to speed around the area in hopes of finding (Y/n).
~Back with (Y/n)~
While in a different part of the mortal realm, "My dear, are you okay?" A voice spoke to the sleeping maiden. "Uh.. Wukong?" (Y/n) thought as she heard a familiar voice, but she opened her eyes to see two figures beside her.
An elderly couple.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She said as she stood up and brushed off the dirt from her clothing. "I thought you were someone else." The elderly woman smiled, "No need to worry, my dear. It seems you were so weary. We just wanted to see if you were alright." She said as the elderly man nodded in agreement.
"That's right. Now tell me, young lady, why are you out here alone? It's nearly dark, and it's best to go home." He said, 'Home…' (Y/n) went deep in thought as she realized she didn't have a home. Not anymore. (Y/n) didn't notice her expression became empty.
"Do you have a place to stay?" He asked curiously. The maiden soon realized where she was and shook her head. "I'm afraid I don't. Not anymore." She somberly said as she looked down, her expression turned sorrowful.
"Well, we have a room open if you want to stay for the night." The elderly lady offered her. "Oh no, I couldn't-" she was interrupted by her. "Please, I insist. It would be better than staying out here."
(Y/n) knew she was right. It might have been her first time in the human realm, but she knew demons tend to roam around. "Well, If it's alright, then just for one night." She said quietly, making the couple smile as she followed the elderly couple into a small village.
"My dear, I almost forgot to ask, what is your name?" She asked the former peach maiden. (Y/n) stopped for a moment as she was unsure, if she should give her full name. "My name is (F/n)." She answered as they reached the elderly couple's home.
"Well, (F/n), you are welcome to stay here as long as you need." She smiled as she invited (Y/n) inside. "Thank you, ma'am." The maiden said, as she was in awe at how cozy their home felt, and she was at peace for a moment. "Ma'am, I would love to be helpful while I stay in your home for the moment. Please allow me to assist you in any way necessary." That night (Y/n) offered to help make dinner.
As she slept in a small room, she looked out the window at the bright moon and shining stars, feeling her heart becoming heavy. Her thought wandered to Sun Wukong and his promise. "To think this is how I see this beautiful world in my saddest moments." She said before she fell asleep.
Little did she know back in the Celestial realms, (Y/n)'s actions would soon be revealed to other deities. Her other sisters would also be aware of her actions and become hurt the most, not understanding why she would choose Sun Wukong over them. The news would later spread as a wildfire in the mortal realm.
~ Next day~
(Y/n) was awakened by the morning rays. Remembering where she was, she cleaned up the room. As she finished, she went outside to see the area, "it was very different from the night." She thought as she took in her new surroundings. The sun made the land look more lively with colorful flowers and people.
"And it's very different from the celestial realm…" She said as she recalled her home and her sisters. "They'll never forgive me…" She thought as she sat on a hill near the elderly couple's home. She took this moment to think about what she should do next and where she should go.
Until a powerful blow of wind blew over her, making (Y/n) use her arms to shield her face from the small debris. "(Y/n)!" A voice cried out as she looked up to find someone looming over her.
It was Nezha.
He was breathing heavily as he saw (Y/n) safe. "You're safe! I thought something happened." He said as he dropped to the floor to embrace her. "Nezha!? What are you doing?" She said, becoming concerned that he got in trouble because of her. "If someone sees you with me, you'll get in trouble! Don't tell you did get in trouble!" She panicked, but Nezha shooked his head.
"No, I'm not in any trouble." He said as he let go of her. He was happy to see his friend wasn't in danger in the mortal realm, but his face became a scowl. He went silent for a moment as he looked at (Y/n), who was concerned. Nezha bit his lip before asking her.
"Why?" Nezha eyes met (Y/n)'s eyes. "Why did you do it?" He said, doing his best not to sound furious but failing as he gripped his staff. (Y/n) became scared to tell him. She took a deep breath, sitting down on the ground, holding her knees. " Because I… I fell in love with him." She said as she looked away from him.
Nezha's eyes widen in disbelief, "That's why?! I told you he was trouble, and now you are here because of him!" He said, appearing to be more furious at Wukong than you.
"It was dumb, I know… Is this why you came to find me?" (Y/n) asked Nezha. "No, that's not the reason I came to find you. I need to know if you're okay." He sighed as he saw his friend. She was feeling guilt and remorse for choosing someone who had left her. Nezha sat down next to her, as she did her best not to be emotional.
'Maybe it was too harsh to confront her about it.' He thought as they both sat in silence and only the wind blowing and birds chirping filled the area with sound.
"I'm sorry… (Y/n)." He spoke up, causing (Y/n) to turn to him. "I didn't mean to yell. I just didn't want you to be involved with Wukong." He continued, rubbing his temple. "What did you even see in the menace?" (Y/n) gave a small giggle, " He was interesting, fun and kind, even though he was a bit annoying when we met. Wukong always found a way to make me smile," She said, as she recalled the times they were together. "I was happy with him." A tear escaped her eye as she gave a weak smile to the lotus princes.
"Did you want to be him? Even if it meant not being with your sisters," he paused for a moment before continuing, "or with me?" Nezha asked as he turned away, still hurt about her decision to be with Wukong. (Y/n) saw him trying to hide his frustration, but it didn't work, " Nezha… I never meant it like that." She said as she hugged Nezha, holding him tightly, surprising the lotus prince. "I foolishly followed my heart. If I could, I would take it back…"
"I'm sorry." (Y/n) felt him embracing her back, holding her tightly. They held on to each other as if the other would disappear if they let go.
"Oh, Nezha. We better let before anyone notices you're gone for too long. They'll get suspicious." (Y/n) said as she let go. He agreed as he composed himself. "Your right. I'll be on my way," he said as they both got up.
"I will come back to make sure you are safe." He stated, "It also may be wise to go unnoticed by mortals. For your safety, (Y/n)." He said before giving her one final embrace, and then a pink flame enfolded him, returning him to the Celestial realm. (Y/n) sighed before heading back to the elderly couple's home, mentally preparing for her new unknown life in the mortal realm.

First my alarm goes off so i tend to grab the phone and scroll a bit to wake up. During this period I notice a post on the community group asking for recommendations for a moving company. Fucking YESSSSS it's the people who own the noisy dogs thank you Jesus, Allah & Lau Tzu.
Get up some time after. Make tea. Make breakfast... bedlam outside. Look out the window and one of the aforemented dogs is following a woman from 2 doors up down the court barking ferociously. I had to rush out and scare the fucken cunt of a thing off.
Furious. Have reported "large aggressive dog roaming the court. Same dogs as everyone in Yanakie have been reporting for months" to council via the app. The woman it was chasing is going to report as well.
Fucking SHIT CUNT neglectful dog owners man there is probably still time for me to lay down an arse woopin' before they leave, right?
Anyway.
Back day coming up in the gym.
Pizza later obviously.

Bestest Friend in the World
Mei is the bestest friend of MK and that will surely never ever lead to grievous injuries no siree
tw for stabbing, blood, major injuries, hospitals, etc.
Ao3 link
Mei Dragon was the bestest bestest bestest friend in the world of MK– and had been since kindergarten. Every afternoon was spent hanging out until her parents and nannies started to disapprove but even that didn’t stop them as MK just started sneaking in and Mei gained the power of puppy dog eyes that the nannies and sometimes even her father couldn’t refuse.
She was ride or die for him since day one too– being part of the Dragon family had its perks like that. She was a formidable foe, so if anyone so much as looked at MK sideways, she was ON it with that White Horse Dragon energy. It helped MK was just as ride or die– they were together through graduations, breakups, get-back-together-s, art classes, PE classes, driving lessons, their Silly Band monopoly turned Multi-Level-Marketing Scheme turned banned from selling to the school turned illegal bracelet selling business turned all silly bands are banned from school forever now, more graduations, and Mei even helped him move into his apartment above their favorite restaurant Pigsy’s Noodles on his 18th birthday.
Ah Pigsy– the old fella’s place was practically a second home to the pair– something that originally bothered him until Mei showed the classic Dragon Credit Card and suddenly she was welcome whenever. It was also a second home in a more sentimental way, that was true– Pigsy practically raised MK since his parents were… complicated. Not to mention Pigsy was also way more sentimental than her old man ever is– even if he pretends he isn’t. The big softie liked to pretend he’d get mad at them but his punishments were always so empty to her (though MK still believed otherwise– even though Mr. Tang really should be proof enough).
In the heat of battle, Mei had MK’s back more than anyone else on the squad. The two were two halves of one whole– two peas in the pod, peanut butter and jelly, daddy issues and heroism, pigsy’s and noodles, Mei Dragon and the motherfucking Monkey Kid!
No duo had ever been so badass or cool or loyal or awesome or as amazing as Mei and MK were. They were one of a kind, truly and infinitely.
“On your right Mei!!!” MK shouted on the battlefield, Mei drove to the left so MK had room on the top of the Pigsy’s Noodles-mobile to jump off and take a swing at the demon in front of the– The Single Horned Rhinoceros King who was on a ramage, having once again escaped the court of heaven, and brought his army with him too.
MK went in for an attack, going for the neck, but his fingers somehow slipped and the second he let go the demon grinned, pulling out a sparkling silver ring which had a force so specific and powerful, the staff went within and disappeared entirely.
“What the heck–?” He said as he fell, more confused about that than the emanate doom of falling onto the ground.
“MK!” Mei immediately drove off to try and catch him, but thankfully Wukong was there and able to catch him on his cloud instead.
“Man, you’d think they’d lock up heaven a lot tighter after how many demons keep slipping through– wait, aren’t you Lau Tzu’s buffalo? What the heck are you doing out again?!” The Monkey King taunted while MK got his wares back.
“Sun Wukong! Here to lose again?” He grinned with sharp teeth and an eyebrow raised.
“Wait, you lost to this guy?! I thought you never lose!” MK looked at his teacher.
“Psh– I didn’t lose per se, not as much as I did against the Samadhi Fire, and the journey was allowed to continue so you know– no real loss,” The Monkey King brushed it off as he always did and Mei couldn’t help but role her eyes with a laugh.
“Besides, taking weapons is a cheaters game, and I know I could easily beat you hand to hand,” Sun Wukong winked with his tongue out.
“As if I care for that,” The Rhinoceros King grinned, summoning a spear of his own.
“Alright– that’s it. MK, give me my staff,” He scowled, and MK laughed as his face turned red with embarrassment.
“Haha, about that…”
“Ugh, not again. You are SUCH a cheater, I don’t know why Lao Tzu even likes you that much,” Wukong scowled at the demon, who couldn’t care less, going in to attack the cloud, and continuing the fight. Wukong dropped off MK with Mei to get the demon away from the mortals while MK and Mei tried to think of a plan while dealing with the army of much more regular sized demons.
“Nice job, butterfingers,” Mei teased, parrying an attack with her family’s sword and slicing through a demon’s chest. “Remember any of Mr. Tang’s stories about this guy?”
“I remember something about Budha and ‘don’t use weapons or fire because he’ll just suck it all up’ I think but honestly my mind is kind of everywhere right now,” He said, trying to fist fight, but he knew his strengths were more in staff fighting.
“Well, does that apply to the Fire of Samadhi?” Mei got a mischievous glimmer in her eyes as she looked back at Wukong and the demon Rhino King.
“Could be worth a shot, I don’t think it was mentioned in the original story,” MK said, grabbing her and summoning a cloud (a newer, shakier ability of MK’s), and taking them right to the demon.
“Kid, what are you doing?!” Wukong said and, having created a sword out of one of his hairs, was currently attempting to ‘empty fade’ the demon, but was blocked easily.
“We’re gonna see if this guy can handle a little heat,” Mei said, feeling the familiar burn in her chest starting to rise.
“Wait no– you probably shouldn’t– Well…” Wukong couldn’t make up his mind so Mei took that as an invitation and after getting MK to get out of the way she unleashed the Fire of Samadhi on the Rhino King, Dragon style.
However, the Rhino King simply laughed and brought out the diamond ring, consuming the flames whole until Mei was left exhausted and weak on MK’s cloud.
“W-Well I guess I’m going old fashioned then,” She grinned, looking at the monkey king, “Two sword fighters are better than none, right Sun Wukong?”
“Sure kid,” He laughed, and she joined the battle, making sure to keep a tight, tight grip on the hilt. MK went back to fighting the lesser demons, which would’ve all been fine if the demon king didn’t order some of them to also start attacking MK and Mei, meaning the battle went from 2 on 1 to 2 on 8 in the blink of an eye, and it was getting harder to keep their ground, even with Sandy and Pigsy running to help them fight too.
“Man, you really are an asshole, you know that Unicorn King?” Wukong huffed as he swept a demon’s leg and stabbed them through the chest.
This made the Rhino King very angry and his attacks against the king started getting far more aggressive than before, swiping faster and faster and hitting harder and harder while demons pulled at his clothes and tried to trip him.
“Monkey King!!” MK leapt from where he was to Wukong’s defense, leaving Mei to deal with even more demons all on her own– which was chill but like– annoying at the same time. She was doing a fairly good job slicing through some of them despite feeling depleted from the fire release, but she wanted to attack the king not just the sidekicks– man it would be a lot better if she hadn’t gotten off her motorcycle, then she could go all… shit what was that guy’s name? Aragorn! Yeah, she could go all Aragorn on their asses.
“Kid I said I got this,” Wukong grit his teeth as he pushed against the Rhino King’s weapon.
“Yeah sure, don’t take my help, that’s something new,” MK laughed as he punched and pulled demons off of Wukong, which succeeded in making things easier for Wukong.
However, demons were still going for Mei and the more there were the more she swung violently and while she usually would have solved this with a lil bit of that Fire of Samadhi, it sure wasn’t going to be back for a hot minute, so all she had was sweaty hands, heavy breathing, and a determination to keep on going.
As the battle waged on, the Rhino Demon took a hard notice of MK and, with a smirk, silently ordered his armies to attack him. MK panicked and Mei realized she had to do something.
She ran through the hoard of demons, slicing only when she had to, and when she got to MK, a demon grabbed her jacket, causing her body to jerk and she dropped her sword with a loud clunk, that was just loud enough for the Rhino King to hear and rejoice at as he brought out the ring once again and took it right off the ground and also destroyed Wukong’s pathetic hair sword while he was at it too.
“HEY!! You give that back you dickweed!!!” Mei shouted on the top of her lungs, smoke flaring from her nostrils.
“Cute how that little dragon girl doesn’t have any fire left,” He said at Wukong, who recognized he was at a standstill once again.
“Yeah, well maybe if you played fair—”
“It surprises me how you always try to see the best in people, Sun Wukong– even when you have no business to,” He pointed his spear at Wukong’s throat.
“Monkey King!” MK cried out, getting on his cloud and going to grab his master away. Mei recognized he needed a distraction and so got on top of a car and started shouting.
“I was talking to you! Hello?!” Mei’s insides burnt as little flames began to spark once again. She ran to the demon, who took his staff away from Wukong just as MK grabbed him and before Mei could blink, he hurled it and—
Fuck.
At first, not much, just her heart beating in her ears as she felt a warm liquid starting to drip down her stomach. She fumbled backward, and a shlink and a tugging feeling left her feeling very, very cold instantly.
“MEI!!!!!”
Several voices cried out behind her. Mei’s vision was spotty, but she could see MK running towards her as Wukong started to scratch and claw at the Rhino King.
At some point she fell backwards– she knew that because of the massive pain in the pack of her head and a ringing in her ears. She saw familiar yellow and pink blurs as Mei slowly started to close her eyes.
.o0o.
Darkness.
Cloudy light, lots of dust and debris– voices.
“What do you mean you can’t heal her?! Y-you’re a billion years old– th-there’s gotta be something you know–!”
“I-i’m sorry, Bud, I-i know I should, but–”
“MK, let’s just get her to a hospital, okay? It’ll be alright there.”
“Right… Right, thanks Pigsy…”
Darkness.
.o0o.
Darkness.
Jesus christ– Blaring lights.
“I don’t care if the building is half destroyed, she tried to save it– do you know who she is?!”
“Sir please, I’m going to need you to calm down, there are many other patients–”
“I’ll handle this, kid. You and Pigsy go sit.”
“Sun Wukong, I’m sorry I can’t–”
“UGH FINE–! Tang knows stitches I’ll just take her back to the shop–”
“No, my boat is far more equipped, you tell Tang to go there and I can make tea.”
That voice was much louder, causing a rumbling sensation in her left side. She was being held by someone… her brain couldn’t focus on who– trying to caused a throbbing headache.
“Wait, is she awake?! Mei??? Mei!!!”
Darkness again.
.o0o.
Darkness.
Blinding lights again– Jeez, what’s with all these lights?!
A smell of bleach and sterile cotton, as well as a distinct beep of a heart monitor filled her senses.
So she didn’t go to Sandy’s boat after all.
Sandy’s– holy smokes she could think again, thank god
Owowowow– okay not without massive headaches and excitement yet, let’s tone it down.
She stared up, trying to get her eyes to stop being so blurry and while it took a solid while, she eventually got it together and started seeing the perfectly white and blue hospital room with the classic uncanny feeling hospital art and all.
She eventually noticed someone was holding her hand– the one without the heartrate alligator clamp thingy, and painfully turned her head to see it was MK– snoring away with a puddle of drool but with a tight grip on her hand nonetheless. Pigsy was next to him, also asleep and holding a little green bag that said “Get Well Soon!” with a bow on it with his other hand on MK’s back.
Mei smiled, not even noticing her biological parents weren’t even there.
She wanted to look around more, but her insides felt like the Fire of Samadhi and she cringed tremendously in pain, squeezing MK’s hand as hard as she could.
“H-huh? What– I’m– MEI!!!” MK shot up and was thrilled to see her with her eyes open– even if it was only really halfway. He immediately grabbed and hugged her, but that hurt even more than trying to move, and Pigsy pulled him away.
“Remember what the nurse said? Gentle, MK, gentle,” the chef grunted, and MK stepped back ashamed.
“S-sorry Mei– I just– I was so— And now you’re–” He sighed a breath of relief.
Mei smiled and opened her hand and when MK took it she gave it a squeeze again.
“S-so… what happened, exactly?” Mei asked.
“Well, Monkey King went berserk on that demon guy and chased him all the way out of the city and somehow managed to get that stupid diamond ring and managed to turn him back to his true form where he then dropped him off on heaven’s front doorstep and then–”
“You got stabbed in the gut with that guy’s spear and we took you to the hospital. You had to have surgery to repair the organ damage and–” Pigsy had interrupted MK but he suddenly couldn’t speak anymore. He took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. “You’re still really hurt, kiddo, a-and they still don’t quite know how everything’s gonna heal and you lost a lot of blood and we didn’t know if you’d…”
Oh god…
“W-well that explains the hospital,” She tried to smile, but seeing Pigsy and MK’s tearful eyes made her want to sob.
“Monkey King’s working now to get back all the weapons and stuff, so don’t worry about your family’s sword,” MK informed her after suddenly remembering.
Frankly the sword was the last thing on her mind, but it was good to know it was being accounted for– no need for her family’s legacy to crumble apart like this so soon.
Maybe that’s why her parents were gone.
“That’s good,” Mei smiled tiredly.
God it hurt so much to breathe or– hell, just to live– right now.
“Mei, I am so, so, so sorry I couldn’t protect you– I should’ve done something– I could’ve turned into an eagle and grabbed it or something or–”
“MK, MK, it’s fine, really. I’m okay,” Mei stroked her best friend’s hand with her thumb.
MK went a bit silent.
“Mei, not to state the obvious but like… you aren’t– you could’ve– you nearly—”
Right.
“Y-yeah… I…” Mei felt like such an idiot for not knowing what to say.
“It’s not your fault kiddo, and it’s not Mei’s either,” Pigsy glanced at her to make sure she knew that too.
“Easy for you to say, you don’t even have any cool powers,” MK muttered under his breath.
“Yeah, but I was there, wasn’t I?!” Pigsy got a little huffy before sighing. “Look… tensions are high, Mei’s gonna be here for awhile… how about we just spend this time being happy she’s at least awake, alright? Because she very easily could–... not be.”
MK turned back to Mei.
“I’m just– I’m so sorry anyways. I-i– we’re two halves of a whole, you know that,” MK laughed a little and wiped his eyes.
“Yeah I know. You really think I’d let such an iconic duo fall apart like that,” Mei tried to punch his arm but ow.
“Yeah, without you, who’s gonna distract my best and only employee other than that old sap of a story teller?” Pigsy joked a little too, though Mei caught a tear rolling down his cheek.
“If you think this is bad you should’ve seen him in the hospital lobby– sobbing like a piglet,” MK whispered and Mei laughed a little, but owowowowow
“Alright, alright, enough of the whispering,” Pigsy rolled his eyes. “I got you something.”
“Oo! I love me a gift,” Mei smiled. Pigsy handed it to her and MK helped her open the bag and remove tissue paper to reveal a cheap little dragon plush keychain that looked to be from a claw machine and a coupon to Pigsy’s Noodles– 50% OFF???????
“Holy shit– You don’t even treat Tang this good– I-i don’t know what to say– I-i-i–” Mei instantly started tearing up.
“Hey, why can’t I get 50% off, I work there!” MK crossed his arms at his boss/dad.
“Have a near death experience again, then we’ll talk,” Pigsy shot him a look before cutting in front of him to get closer to Mei, offering his arm which Mei began to weep into, ignoring the absolutely godawful pain that flared with every sob. Soon enough MK was crying too, and he went on the other side of the bed and offered his arm too, and soon Mei was just holding onto both of them as best she could, crying her eyes out.
“I-I-I love you guys s-s-s-so much,” She wept.
Pigsy stroked her head with his free hand. “Yeah, love you too kiddo.”
“Y-yeah me too. Like you said– we’re two halves of a whole; the most iconic duo in history,” MK sniffled.
Mei couldn’t say more after that, in too much emotional and physical pain. She wanted to apologize for scaring them like that– for almost dying (maybe still dying, who knows) but she knew they wouldn’t care.
She was okay.
She was awake.
And she was still the bestest bestest bestest friend in the world of MK, with a pretty cool secret-softie pig dad to boot.
Mei was the luckiest dragon girl in the world.

An Introvert and Her Dogs
Tumblr media
Did you know that many introverts are hardcore animal lovers? (Including me!). Why? Because animals fulfill a very specific role for us introverts that people just can’t.
All my life, I grew up in a family surrounded by indoor and outdoor animals, that I loved being around with them rather than playing with other kids. Honestly, I was such an extroverted kid back then; outgoing, talkative, and confident but everything started to change after entering school. I've been bullied since the day I entered school and it cause a lot of trauma ( mentally, emotionally, and physically). It ruined my self-esteem, I became less talkative and afraid of socializing with other people. It got to the point that I developed anxiety, paranoia, and panic attacks. Until now, I still struggle to control them but with the help of my family, therapist, and my dogs they were the ones who always comfort me every time I experience them.
How Having a Dog Had Helped Me as an Introvert?
My dogs named Bella, Cupcake, and Luna provides companionship and unconditional love that I needed as a person who had a hard time interacting with people.
Since Shih Tzus are known for being  affectionate, happy, outgoing house dogs who loves nothing more than to follow their people from room to room. Here are some interesting facts in each of my dogs:

• Loves walks

• Very friendly even to strangers
• Rarely barks
• Easily get scared of storms
• Loves her puppies so much
• Loves to dive into trash
• Chews on socks
• She favors me more
Luna the 1 year old princess type Shih tzu ⅛ pomeranian
Tumblr media

• Very playful
• Gets irritated when teased
• Uses her paws as a shield every time you give her medicine or just by touching her mouth
• Hates bath times
• Doesn't like to brush her fur or brush her teeth
• Looks like a cat, ewok, skunk, etc.
• Has a high pitch tone of barking
• Loves chicken
• Loves to sleep between any kind of shoes
• Loves her toy duck so much
• Loves to play with socks
• Loves to sleep on rugs
• Pees everywhere
Having a dog in the house has been good not just for me but also the whole family in a lot of ways, and I believe that among those ways, it has helped me as an introvert. (After all, we introverts have a deep connection with animals!) Since I’m always trying to learn and grow as an introvert, I’ve looked for ways in which owning a dog can help me. Here are some of them.
1. They give me something to talk about when I don’t know what to say.
Tumblr media
Whenever I see people who are interested with animals it’s a great “in” to start conversations, luckily some of them even became a friend of mine which in turn gives me more confidence in my ability to successfully interact with others.
2. They don't judge you.
Tumblr media
This is one of the reason I prefer animals over people, just like my dogs I noticed that they don't judge us just by looking on our physical appearance but rather appreciating us for who we were.
3. A source of comfort.
Tumblr media
On these days, my tired introvert soul need something to nourish me and cheer me up and my dogs fulfills this need. Everytime I would have a bad day, it helps me to know that I can come home with a cheerful dogs rushing to greet me and snuggling with their furry face that will always love me no matter what and would always listen to my crying moments and try to make me laugh for me to cheer up.
