Whatever you do, don’t think about Luke and Ashton snuggling on the tour bus. Don’t think about it being at night, when it’s cool and there’s nowhere else they have to be for a day or so. Don’t imagine a little, curled-up, vocal-resting Luke in his softest loungewear as he tucks his face between Ashton’s chest and one of the throw blankets. Don’t think about how Ashton just can’t help but keep him close for a little bit—cause you know the air conditioner is a little too strong on that bus. And you know he wants to warm up so bad. But despite all that, don’t think about how Ashton will end up playing with Luke’s curls till he “accidentally” dozes off right beside him.

thinking about how luke’s favorite place to kiss you is on the flesh right above your right hipbone. he would lay on your stomach, nuzzling into you while you tangled your fingers in his hair. he would sigh in content and kiss you there. after a grueling day of training, your bones would ache and he would pepper kisses across the bruises that littered your skin and place a gentle kiss there before rubbing it with the pad of his thumb. he would look at you, with his eyes blown wide with desire, as he trailed kisses down your body, stopping there to watch your face, before wandering lower.

his hand would be permanently glued there as you walked around camp, greeting the younger campers who squealed at how perfect the two of you are together. he’d give your hip a squeeze before he left you for the day to tend to his duties.

percy would pretend to gag at your displays of affection, but deep down, he was happy that his sister was loved by someone, even if he just met you days prior. you cared about him the way he always wished a sibling would. and he liked luke, he was everything a demi-god should be.

so when word of luke’s betrayal rang across camp, percy raced to find you. he didn’t want to accept that you might’ve known about the plan all along, but he couldn’t be too careful anymore. he once thought of the world of luke. but when he saw you, sitting in the dark of the poseidon cabin, sobs wrecking through your body, percy knew that you hadn’t known.

at first your purpose wasn’t clear. you were not the child of poseidon who shall fulfill the prophecy, that was percy, but as the months went on, it became clear. your purpose was to protect percy at whatever cost.

in your final moments, despite being bestowed with the power of the river styx, you grew tired. percy had learned of your purpose in the prophecy, and he, as the boy who refused to accept fate, wanted to stop it from happening, but you knew, it only delayed the inevitable. you were going to die saving percy.

there you were, under the mercy of luke, the boy you once loved. there was blood dripping out of your mouth, but you managed to crack a smile. you reached to touch luke’s cheeks, memorizing the remnants of him that were left.

luke was fighting, begging kronos to spare you, but it was too late. you wrapped your hand around luke’s and drove the blade into your hipbone.

meeting jaehyun only happens by chance. by running into him during late night corner store snack runs, and slowly developing... something.

it goes from eyeing each other in the foggy glass off the ice cream freezer, keeping a safe distance while you take turns picking a treat. then, most times, he disappears into the night by the time you're done paying.

he figures out your favourite snacks over time, waiting for you in the glow of the 24/7 neon sign blinking tirelessly above the entrance.

he's not much of a talker at first, only silently offering a different crinkly bag each night. it's not in friendship territory, maybe something adjacent. it's a silent deal, one where you don't learn his name for the first month of sitting on the curbside and sharing a bag of candy. he holds it out for you, the back of his hand briefly grazing your thigh before he carefully retreats.

tonight, it's a family size bag of peach rings.

you bump your knee against his, and he repeats the gesture with a smile on his lips. the dimples on his cheeks deepen, and his eyes mirror the moon's crescent shape in the sky, twinkling even in the orange light of a street lamp above.

you wonder if he's even prettier in daylight.

it's silent for another beat, before he presses his knee back against yours. you don't miss the way something flashes in his eyes, and his cheeks along with the tips of his ears, turn pink.

the bag falls from his hand, landing in front of your feet, and the peach rings spill on the concrete. his hand, now empty, is warm against your cheek, cradling your face as he leans closer. his lips are soft against yours, gentle but impatient as he kisses you again and again.

tonight, he tastes like peaches.

i really hate to do this but i think i just have to throw it out there. my family and i are in a lot of debt, mostly bc of rent (i don't know the exact amount bc my dad refuses to tell me), and we recently had some emergencies come up (had to take our dog to the vet + 2/3 of our cars for our family of 4 went kaput in the last month). i got paid last thursday and immediately gave the entire paycheck to my dad. i've been doing this with every paycheck for the last 3 years. i wish i could offer commissions or other compensation of some kind, but doing so on top of my full time job made me injure my hand so bad that i've been in near constant pain for the last year and a half
