My thoughts on these last two episodes:
Though things seems to have gone back to what they were, I believe they are also completely different at the same time.
Because although being a vampire was Guillermo’s dream, I think in the years he’s spent with the vampires, the main reason he wanted to be turned was so he could be considered a valued part of the team
He wanted the vampires to see him like family, to care about him the way he does for them.
And that’s come true, all the vampires care and love and worry for Guillermo now.
They all demonstrated this in their own different ways this season:
from Laszlo actively trying to help Guillermo, showing up at his motel to apologize for not being as helpful (which was actually very sweet of him) to that final scene with Derek
to Nadja taking Guillermo to the vet and protecting him from being harmed
To Colin stopping by the motel to give Guillermo a farewell gift.
They all were worried about him. They all didn’t want him to get killed, that’s why they kept his secret despite knowing how hurt and upset Nandor would be. It’s such a three sixty from the beginning of the series. The found family vibes really made me want to cry in the best way.
(But since I am a huge nandermo shipper I saved my Nandor points for last because I’m gonna dive in DEEP)
I knew that we wouldn’t get a love confession this season, I believe that Guillermo will either be turned into a vampire in a last ditch effort to save his life (hopefully by Nandor)
Or he’ll eventually change his mind and ask Nandor again to be turned and I think if he were to ask again (after everything that’s happened) I think Nandor would do it if he believed Guillermo was sure.
Guillermo did mention to Nandor at the fake ceremony that he really still wanted to be a vampire. (So who knows I wanna keep hope alive)
But overall, I loved this season.
We got a rare peak behind the curtain at Nandor.
He not only deeply cares for Guillermo and can’t imagine losing him but he also knew all along that Guillermo was not ready to be a vampire.
(Remember that scene in s3 where Nandor tells Guillermo that vampirism is a curse? And that he cared too much about him to do that to him?)
The fact that Nandor memorized Guillermo’s letter to him when they first met just speaks volumes about how much he actually loves Guillermo.
Nandor has grown so much this season, it was so refreshing to see. I mean all those self help books really paid off. Cause, not only did he set his own hurt feelings aside and forgave Guillermo despite how important loyalty and honor are to him but
he also didn’t act impulsively when it came to Guillermo transitioning. He let Guillermo experience vampirism and observed his reactions and emotions before stepping in.
(I hope we continue to see more character growth like this and that hopefully in s6 we finally get some romantic plot for these two because fuck I’m in too deep to quit this show/ ship lol)

Not seen anyone mention it yet, but what I loved about Nandor and Guillermo in the armchairs wasn't JUST how domestic and married they looked sitting like that, it was also the fact that prior to that Guillermo must have told Nandor that's he's pissed with the other two and he's gonna give them the silent treatment, and Nandor not only respected that but fucking supported him by being the unnecessarily-relays-messages guy for him. Like obvs from the laughter with the other two after that he's still a little caught between taking their side and taking Guillermo's side or just doesn't know what the limits are with teasing, but it's such a massive bound forward from s1 Nandor who like, would've told Nadja and Laszlo that they're not allowed to give his familiar orders but still would've told Guillermo he must respect all the vampires even if they're dicks to him.
Even though he trips up and his teasing falls flat bc Guillermo's not in a place to be receptive to it, in so many little ways he's just actually on Guillermo's side now and I'm so emo about it

I do wanna say there's so much to take when Nandor takes the stake to himself in order for Guillermo to decide to kill him or not. He wasn't going to fight back as it probably wouldn't matter if Guillermo did kill him because Nandor would likely take his own life after killing him because maybe just maybe Guillermo had a light to him that Nandor sees that maybe continuing his (long-lasting vampiric) life isn't so bad as long as Guillermo was by his side. We all know how Nandor began to question his existence and become depressed to whether or not it was worth living as a vampire in the past. If he had to take the life of the one person (Guillermo) who brought some light into his life, him and everyone else made it clear that he would take his life as well.
There's some depth of how much trust Guillermo really has for Nandor which is understandable in a way. In this season, there's many scenes that highlights how Nandor remembers minimal things of Guillermo that Guillermo didn't think he would remember. I do dislike the whole excuse Laszlo gives about vampires not being good at telling the people they love and care about how they truly feel. However, their actions kind of gives the balance they lack of it.
I do wanna say if Nandor was willingly to get stabbed with a stake by Guillermo as they lock eyes going to be similar to a possible scene with Stede and Ed from Ofmd in Season 2? NOW I ask this question because Guillermo didn't trust Nandor especially when he came to his mother's home without no explanation of what's to happen. In the end, Nandor surrenders himself in order for Guillermo to see for himself if he is lying or not.
In ofmd, it is Ed who felt betrayed by Stede and so when they cross paths again, is Stede gonna try to explain how and why he didn't come with Ed or is he going to feel betrayed as well for getting rid of his books, stuff, stole half his crew, attempted murder on lucius, and left the rest of the crew on an island??
Like if there's a similar scene but Stede sees how much Ed was hurt and gives himself up if it would make Ed happy to kill him, How is every viewer gonna take this?

Guillermo’s season 5 arc
This might be controversial but I really wanted to do a meta on Guillermo so far through season 5 and how he’s actually, despite everything, his best self. You could argue that he’s slotted himself back into the familiar role and lost his sexy vampire killer vibe and while there is some truth to that, people seem to forget that half the time Guillermo was in his vampire slayer arc he was fighting to be noticed, to be taken seriously. He wasn’t yet comfortable with his abilities and the vampires were still treating him like he was weaker (or at least attempting to convince themselves that he was).
Season 2 and 3 involve a lot of references to nandermo being romantic but not from a casual watchers pov. Guillermo is jealous, yes, but there have been plenty of references to his feelings for Nandor and you have to really dig through the subtext to find Nandor’s little hints and tidbits to decipher his exact feelings towards the familiar/bodyguard. In season 4, however, they are very clearly romantic foils for eachother. Ironically this is the season that they both have serious partners but nonetheless the implications are there. So it’s fair to say that Guillermo’s arc in season 4 is about doing things for himself and not giving too much away, which is deeper and more personal than his previous arcs which centered more about his role in the household.
Starting season 5 with Guillermo straight back in the house was disappointing for some, I personally wanted him to have a proper vampire hoe era and meet up with the vampire gang at a later date, but alas, society is not at that point😔. It made sense for him to return, though, because a lot of the Guillermo defenders (myself included) forget that he doesn’t want to leave, he likes these weirdos and has made a lot of references towards seeing them as a family.
One of the reasons he is back in his sweaters, doing chores and his usual duties is because he’s comfortable. If he really thought Nandor was going to kill him, he would leave, he’s not a stupid person. You’ll also notice he has boundaries this season, he’s not feeling guilty about hanging out with Laszlo because he knows it’s his choice. More importantly, Nandor is not going to force him to hang out with him instead of Laszlo. He’s gonna be sulky about it, sure, but he isn’t saying, “no you don’t have time to hangout with Laszlo, you have to do this!”, season 1 Nandor for sure would and season 1 Guillermo would for sure obey him. But now, both Guillermo and Nandor are aware that Guillermo isn’t gonna do anything he doesn’t want to do, not even for Nandor anymore.
That’s my meta, it’s more of a ramble of thoughts but at least I wrote it down.

the fact that nandor has been hesitant to turn guillermo because he's afraid he'll leave and every time guillermo has tried to give up and go get turned somewhere else he ends up right back at the house and the fact that he did it, he was bitten by derek, he drank his blood, he turned, and the first thing we see him do is ask the vampires to be a little more cautious to keep themselves safe. do you get it. how many times does he have to prove that no matter how close he gets to turning he's not gonna leave. even when he learned that being turned by someone other than nandor was the greatest shame and betrayal he could commit, he stayed. when the effects were starting to take hold he asked for new glasses anyway, to keep things the same. when laszlo learned guillermo was turned he immediately took him under his wing, no pun intended, and promised to keep it from nandor and help him figure it out. like. no matter how messy it gets no matter how disastrous, he stays. he stays and they feel bad about missing his birthday and they all take him to dinner and promise they'll tone down the hypnosis. they come with him to the mall and nandor buys him a footlocker and tries to impress him and they make him a sign for the pride float. and he stays. he stays he stays he stays.

(yes I already posted this yesterday but I deleted it, unintentionally 🙃)
Welcome to another episode of me overanalyzing side-characters !
I'll explain why I consider this scene to be one of the most fucked up moments of the show (wwdits shitty meta) :
(the scene lasts 1min 45)
TW : Child abuse ¦
(I probably extrapolated, it's just my personal interpretation)
So in short, Colin stole Sean's car, the man is not upset with the teenager, actually it's Laszlo who is really mad because it could have seriously pissed off his best friend; Sean initially sides with Colin.
S : "Look, uh, we all make mistakes. It's no big deal - Listen, he was just taking it for a little joyride."
So Sean is aware that it was basic teenagers' bullshit and isn't particularly upset about it. Guillermo prompts Colin to speak up.
As Colin starts to vent, Laszlo interrupts him, even insulting him, Sean tries to step in to calm the tension.
C : "You can't tell me why I grew a foot and a half overnight like a human radish."
L : "Listen, you ungrateful f*ck, you're giving me the pip."
S : "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa."
[...]
S : "Guys, guys, guys."
L : "All right, you cheeky f*ck." (to Colin)
S : "Things are getting a little too heated in here."
[...]
Tumblr media
S : Okay, listen, my dad and I used to fight like this all the time ! And nothing good came from it ! You understand me ?
This exact moment particularly struck me.
The acting was so good, the emotions so sincere that the first time I saw this scene I had to pause it (because I felt really uncomfortable)
For me, it was 'young Seanie' who expressed himself here, not the adult man, look and tell me if it was not a fucking cry of distress from his "young self", he raised his voice when it was not necessary, like a child about to have a tantrum.
And for me the best detail of this scene : while Sean explains what solution he proposes for "settling differences" between Colin and Laszlo, just behind him, on the top of his shoulder, there is the head of the Devil Jersey, as if the demon on his shoulder whispered (bad) advice to him :
Tumblr media
S : "Now, I'm gonna count down from three. When I say go, start swinging."
G : "Wait, what ?"
S : "First one to tap out, other one's head of the household."
Then he encourages Colin to make eye contact when he is clearly uncomfortable, the only one at ease is Laszlo.
Why force him to do eye contact ? So that Colin can see himself being punched in the face in high definition, wtf Sean
Laszlo was ready to hit Colin at that moment.
Tumblr media
Only Guillermo reacted with GOOD SENSE ! And we are talking about one of the most unhinged characters of the show, even for him it was too much.
Since when ??! you encourage your best friend to beat up his "son" (as a parental figure), how messed up is that ?
And while Guillermo is holding them back on this shit, Sean exclaims "C'mon !" as if he's disappointed that it didn't happen.
Now we can ask ourselves why Sean would encourage his best friend to do something as stupid as hitting his child; I personally think it's because Sean has only developed unhealthy coping mechanisms (alcoholism, gambling)
It is implicitly nuanced that Sean was beaten up by his father on a regular basis, and probably in the face (no wonder he resisted to the brain scramblies, it was already pudding before/hj)
//
Let's face it, Colin would never have had time to react if Laszlo had decided to hit him.
I think that at this point, Sean wanted to be a spectator, he wanted to revisit unconsciously the violence that he himself had suffered when he was younger but this time from an external point of view.
After all Laszlo loves Colin Robinson deeply, and it is even Sean who reassured Colin about that during the Pine Barrens episode.
S : You know, you're lucky to have a guy like Lasz - taking care of you.
C : I guess. Sometimes I think that Lazzo doesn't like me so much.
S : Are you kidding me ? He loves you.
So if Sean saw Laszlo beating his son in front of his eyes, maybe he would have had the confirmation that his own father loved him, that his father beat him, but that it was a 'sign of love' in the end.
Sean never learn to communicate properly (hence the dysfunctional marriage with his wife) and when he had to argue with his father, it ended in violence (with fists)
//
Sean was forced at a very young age to take on a role that he wasn't supposed to be, in this case the fight that was supposed to take place between Colin and Laszlo was to determine who would be "head of the household."
Colin here is a teenager, he should not have all the responsibilities expected of an adult, but it seems that Sean at the same age had to undergo it (he wasn't allowed to watch PBS, at 14 he killed his first deer (let him jerk off instead of forcing him to hunt srs 😭) , Sean seems to have never experienced a childhood that a 14yo is supposed to have.
At a minimum he had the decency to say "First one to tap out" indicating that if Colin gave up and didn't want to fight anymore, he at least had a way out. I doubt Sean had that same chance, and I think he must have been knocked out many times.
Sean's response to problems is usually to give up or violence (e.g. when he threatens Guillermo "to ream him" after he thought he made a homophobic remark)
Sean is deep down emotional but has never been able to express his emotions in a healthy way, seeing Lasz's love and attachment to teen Colin, he saw before his eyes what he missed during his childhood to build himself psychologically.
In reality, he is not inclined to violence, he even hoped that Baby Colin would only be violent towards walls :
Tumblr media
The only times Sean almost cried were when he offered the Jade necklace to his wife :
Tumblr media
[...] talking about his favorite movie series which is probably the only valid excuse he has for crying as a 'real masculine man yk', not supposed to be fragile or to show emotions :
Tumblr media
He was a neglected and abused child and I think that during this scene he almost indirectly succeeded in repeating the cycle of abuse he suffered from, but by projection this time.
So I just wonder, if Colin had been knocked out by Laszlo (without having the time to "tap out"), how Sean would have reacted afterwards.
Seeing with an outside eye himself (teen Colin) lying on the ground.
Would he have been angry at Laszlo, at himself, at Teen Colin for not being strong enough ?
I leave you with his thoughts :)
Conclusion : get Sean a fucking therapy.

Girl you have already made three mistakes in your rants I've seen in the tags; you should rest, watch again with a cold head and then talk because it's getting embarrassing how much you got wrong. If after all you still think the same, go back to fanficland.
Honestly, I probably will have a lot more thoughts once I've rested and watched again, but the profound disappointment I feel now won't go away. Like "girl", I'm not just some child that will agree with you after I've gone down for a nap. (And like... what's the weird slight against fanfic at the end there...?)
This finale feels like an extreme ass-pull. This idea that "oh, just the time since death will pass and that's why they'll die" doesn't mesh with what they said in s3 about all vampires (including baby vampires) dying if The Sire dies. Laszlo searching for a "cure" the entire season when apparently it's known knowledge that they could've just killed Derek doesn't make sense. Seeing Nandor swapping from "we will accept him as equals" to "clean up this corpse" is bullshit, and it's not a good thing and shows a regression of character growth. The fact that everyone's storylines all pretty much went back to where they were before Guillermo was bitten is absolutely infuriating.
I could accept a couple understandable changes in canon, like the zombies being capable of attaining sentience (despite the older ones not showing signs of it when Topher joined the sweatshop) but come on, this is ridiculous.
God, I'm tired of this show introducing interesting ideas and then explaining them all away. It makes it hard to get invested in any of the storylines when you know they're gonna just hand wave everything. The djinn wishes, the club, Baby Colin, the year-long break between s3 and s4, Guillermo being bitten, the vampiric tests on Guillermo, Nadja's Little Antipaxos thing, none of it ever matters. They just make some joke to lampshade things like "hey, we remember that it happened!" and then never deal with it. I always think they're going somewhere with things and they don't.
I feel like the entire season I watched was pointless and I'm frustrated. I feel like I've been giving the writers the benefit of the doubt for a couple years now, and honestly, I'm tired of it.
I was actually hoping that Guillermo would have to make hard choices between vampirism and humanity. I didn't want him to become a vampire. But for him to just be like "PHEW glad I'm back on dead body duty" is so fucking frustrating.

Thinking about Nandor and his word choice how much of an open book in a foreign language he is, how he wears his heart on his sleeve while not even comprehending his own decisions and motives and him being dumb not stupid.
The sound effect in 3x08 when he says “I relinquish you of your service” it’s genuine all of season 3 is him slowly changing his behavior with Guillermo and the whole “vampirism is a curse” feels real and genuine because he’s being disingenuous, he has to tell 1 truth and 3 lies “I care about you” drowned by “My cold dead heart” a lie “your just okay personality” another lie “just a little bit” the biggest lie after the heaviest truth, from then on familiar is used as an insult he doesn’t really think of Guillermo that way, 3x09 and 3x10 are all about Nandor playing a part (and all of season 4), 3x09 is pure survival and self-preservation he’s hurting so it means it’s everyone else’s fault, they’re all beneath him and still underneath all the coping there’s tenderness that spills out with Guillermo (that he was so scared was gonna grow apart and instead Nandor is the one that constantly tries to get away).
3x10 is the most strategic Nandor and the most serious we see him, he’s carrying out a plan and that’s why I don’t think Nandor is as stupid or oblivious (as the show might make you think) he knows Guillermo enough to play him, he starts talking about leaving when he hears the door opening, he knows he hasn’t told anything to Guillermo (he would have been the first to know), he mocks him about not being a vampire and giving him one last duty, but at the same time has already a goal in mind he finds someone to plan the journey to rid Guillermo of having to work, he gets a little too excited when he sees Guillermo because he’s getting really happy about it to then before the fight recompose himself and go back into character telling things that would make Guillermo mad, the “You shooed away some assassins who gives a shit” is such a dead giveaway after him fighting a whole month to save Guillermo’s life and how grateful he was about having his life saved also I’m 75% convinced that he knew about the hypnosis...tiny problem he underestimated Guillermo’s reaction but I also think that’s why Nandor is so interested in him, he’s unpredictable.
But Nandor can’t predict others’ actions (Laszlo’s) and can't see through anyone else's lenses so the only way he can explain to himself why Guillermo didn’t come is outright rejection, it’s setting yourself up for failure "the worst outcome" accepting it without listening because you have to come to peace with it, knowing that if you heard it from that person it would tear you apart so you forgive because you don’t want to hear it. But how does he get Guillermo to stay now? He relinquished him of his service in 3x08 so he’s not his employee anymore and in 3x10 he gave him his last duty...mmm he’s been really lonely lately...without...him...check mate, he’s gonna propose in the same exact way as last time but this time to be his best man hoping that he will be jealous...he isn’t...Guillermo’s gonna stop him because it’s too hasty and ridiculous...he doesn’t...he’s gonna ask him impossible stuff for the wedding...he gets everything and also gets Nadja and The Guide to help him...he’s gonna object to the wedding...he’s the only person that doesn’t, well at least Nandor got what he wanted but his wife stops him from spending time with Guillermo and he has a boyfriend, if Guillermo likes his boyfriend what if he likes Guillermo’s boyfriend too but he can’t steal him away that would be cruel and he’s not a cheater, if there’s 2 of the same thing are there 2 or just 1? Everything is resolved him and Guillermo like the same thing but they’re not the same thing but they are, Guillermo is being confusing first he says they are the same thing but when Nandor tries to give him his Freddie he says it’s different, this isn’t fun anymore...well everything is back to normal and it’s wonderful isn't it? Guillermo isn’t his familiar, nor bodyguard, nor best man but here he is and single too...should he question why he’s still there or why he wants him there...nah

why are the wwdits writers/showrunners always so weird about the show and nandermo.... i too am getting kind of tired of all the horseshit. And why are they constantly addressing nandermo in so many interviews etc if they're apparently not interested in pursuing it? Like idk, if it were me, and i was in the middle of writing a will-they-won't-they plot, I'd be being incredibly coy and vague about it, rather than flat-out denying or confirming it. Idk if that's standard procedure for tv show writers discussing their shows, but if it's gonna happen in the show (or not), I would want to learn about it by actually watching the show, not from some random press junket. And vehement denial in an attempt to throw you off the scent also just seems stupid as hell as a strategy for keeping people in the dark. Like people are just gonna give up on the show if that's their strategy!
All that aside, does anyone else feel somewhat rankled by a show having lots of queer characters in it but you almost never get to see them do anything queer... i feel like shows nowadays seem to want accolades for having queer characters, but then they never get shown doing anything queer on-screen, like for example literally just kissing someone. it's all off-screen or referred to, but almost never shown. call me crazy but i want my gay characters to be able to express gay love on screen!!! that gets my goat tbh. but maybe that's just me! anyway i'm gonna keep watching bc laszlo is hot and im obsessed with him. (everyone else is hot too, just to be clear.) but im just... tired lol.

What We Do In The Shadows S4E4 details that make me Extremely Concerned for Guillermo's life:
-At the end of the fight scene after Nandor (hopefully) pretends to snap Guillermo's neck, he says "you okay?" and then Guillermo doesn't answer. But not only does he not answer, the camera stays on them and is focused on Guillermo's lifeless body for just a few seconds too long. Why purposefully show Guillermo not answering unless it's significant? Why not cut away right after "you okay?" Why not have Guillermo give a characteristically snappy response?
-After that, we see LITERALLY everyone else going home/having left the night market except for Nandor and Guillermo. We see Nadja at her club and then Laszlo and Baby Colin at home - where's Nandor and Guillermo? Where'd they go after the market? WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW THEM LEAVING TOO???
-...are we really so certain that Nandor even knows how to fake snapping someone's neck? The man thinks Guillermo can eat raw chicken, specifically RAW CHICKEN THAT WAS LEFT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR SEVERAL DAYS. He also tells Guillermo to "stop being so negative" when Guillermo tries to explain that he'll be dead after Nandor's 100 year Super Slumber. He also has to be told that Guillermo taking Carol the vampire who wants to Eat Him to his room and showing her around is probably a bad idea. He literally forgets for a second that the (as far as he knew at the time) defenseless human could be killed by a hungry vampire. Even Nadja, who arguably has slightly more brain cells than Nandor, thinks that a normal human lifespan is like 200 years. Then when told that the human is 20, is like "...so do you think you have much longer?" I'm just not sure that these people (affectionate) know what would actually snap a human's neck. Plus, when would Nandor the Relentless have ever faked killing someone? Never!! Who knows if he actually can!!
Bonus Nandermo:
-The episode begins with both Nandor and Guillermo blowing off their significant others...to go hang out with each other. Guillermo hangs up on Freddie mid-sentence for "a work thing," and Nandor shows barely-contained excitement when Marwa says she's not going. The phone call in particular is interesting because it...otherwise doesn't really make sense to have shown. Like, they showed us that specifically to show Guillermo blowing off Freddie for Nandor. Plus, why were Nandor and Guillermo alone instead of going with either Nadja or Laszlo? Very interesting.
-In the shot where Nandor is being his typical dramatic self and telling Guillermo to "end him," you can see Guillermo's face and fistful of Nandor's hair visibly soften as he reassures Nandor that he's not gonna kill him. The idea of killing Nandor was so distressing and off-putting that the fighting act falters and the soft affection comes out.
In conclusion: my boys ;-;

my diehard ships: in descending order of how canon they are
Laszlo & Nadja: (idk their ship name lol) married and endlessly horny and in love with each other, pls don’t ever change this relationship
Vauseman: Dated in the past and their whole love affair is a huge part of the show. They part ways in the end but Piper bucks up and moves to Ohio just to be with Alex so still canon and hopefully real married when Alex gets out
Janason: Had an on and off relationship due to Jason being rebooted hundreds of times but Janet always retained feelings for him. They eventually find each other again through the course of the series and finally get to spend endless bearimies together til Jason walked through the door 😭 Still in love til the end but it’s so sweet and sad
Harlivy: Literally is canon in the comics, was heavily implied since the 90s, also implied in other assorted animated medias, kinda only noticed as “canon” recently cause of the HQS (which I love) but it’s unfortunate people wouldn’t believe me till that episode and season came out. In media where they’re not together though they were either exes or I choose to believe they have a past together :)
BBRae: Depends on the universe whether they’re together or not but for the most part they’re dating or have mutal crushes on each other. If not, I choose to ship in any universe lol
Zadison: Had a canon threesome but should’ve been properly developed more as a relationship but Ryan Murphy hates sapphics >:((
Jori: Bade was the main ship throughout the run but if they were ever to reboot it, Jori would have to be canon now. Cause as we all rewatch it, we understand it was Jori all along.
Gelphie: Similar to Jori in we all thought it was the straight ship but you rewatch it and think, wait a minute..these bitches gay. Ofc you’re wrong but in my HEAD they ran off together
Hizzie: For a hot second, I legit thought these two were gonna be canon. I know it’s Hosie forever but like after Kaylee left, the development between these two took a weird turn and Lizzie kept rejecting MG and going to Hope. Plus their already established frenemy relationship and past episode developments focused on their friendship like..why didn’t this happen?
Amedot: I thought this was gonna happen back in 2016/17 because of weird subtext we got but that was probably just wishful thinking. My thoughts on it were “I know nothing is going to happen but I think there’s a less than 1% chance for something, or at least for subtext”. But then Lapidot took over the fandom so I was wrong lol. Ofc neither ship actually became canon and Peri was revealed to be an intended aro/ace, which slowed down some shipping but not all of it ofc. Side note: the artist who “confirmed” ace/aro peri also ships amedot sooo.. I guess you’re good in that aspect? Anyways, now I do still ship it but mostly nostalgically and I think prime 2016 amedot was the best.
Cassunzel: I like this purely hypothetically but I do think they had a canon crush on each other in the show which is gone by the ending but it’s only real in my heart ❤️
Reiusa: Literally never gonna happen but I like the what if of them together in the future and co-parenting Chibiusa while still giving jabs at each other and the whole Rei cares about Usagi more than she lets on. I’m wrong but it’s nice to dream

season 4 spoilers for wwdits but i really love the direction the writers are going for nandor and guillermo, and I can kinda see their thought process maybe (knowing we have 2 seasons coming up)… AN ESSAY
Firstly, I dont think nandor and guillermo are gonna end up together at the end of this season. i think guillermo is going to be genuinely happy with freddie in some capacity! and he kind of needs it!
in terms of character guillermo starts out timid, in a clear power dynamic, with very little self respect. hes subservient and softspoken, and weve seen him become more unhinged, which is amazing. he complains a lot more. and theres still this level of subservience, but only at his own benefit. he doesnt fucking care abt their feelings anymore because they never cared abt his. finally, we see guillermo being selfish loudly. and what does that get him? during this season, he has so far seen 3 people after his affections. the guide. nandor, as his best man. and freddie, his boyfriend. also his family, if you want to count that. guillermo needs, as a character, to feel wanted, because he has never felt that way. now that hes wanted more than ever, he’s probably gonna overdo it and its gotta come crashing down so it can level out. i love how hes already BICKERING with nandor and nandor’s TAKING it.
in other words, he’s gotta gain a little respect and get drunk on it, then learn how to stabilize in the middle… with maybe some help. Only then can he balance love, family, and himself: when he understands what hes worth, and that he doesnt need constant validation to know someone cares. I think that also boils back to his desire to be a vampire, to be someone else, to be cool and wanted. i think he is slowly realizing and learning he doesnt want to be anybody else by guillermo de la cruz, human vampire slayer. thats his arc. The next two seasons might deal with him going too far with this ‘new’ guillermo, and then realizing too late that hes hurt people he cares about, and the guillermo de la cruz he really is would help his found family. I predict that the Nandor and Guillermo dolls he made might remind him. :)) I dont really got a clue what happens to freddie. havent seen enough of him to gauge if he might stick around… if guillermo genuinely got over nandor i think thats honestly great for his char! but might change at any moment considering the show has 2 seasons more at least!!
nandor on the other hand… ough. his search for love is honestly so perfect, and i love how they are setting it up with the djinn and marwa and guillermo. nandor being nice to guillermo is amazing. hes starting to give guillermo respect and not even laughing along with the others as much. this already is huge char development. but like, really think about it: laszlo & nadja… now Guillermo and Freddie. Nandor is gonna feel like everyone has someone but him more than usual. Hes gonna wonder why he doesnt feel the same way everyone else feels even with a wife. it makes life even more meaningless. I mean, first guillermo abandons him, he cant be human, now he cant even be happy with a wife? So whats wrong with him? What does he need? Hes gonna wish everything he could ever want into existence… but still feel like a shell. Being nandor, he exhausts all options before facing the truth… and It forces Nandor to understand hes under appreciating things in life that make it better or meaningful (guillermo lol). Thats his arc. And not only that, but hes beginning to show more emotions. I feel like as the season goes on, he might reveal that hes really hurt by guillermo “leaving”. i think it might end with him realizing he has messed up with their relationship and that he might… have feelings for him that hes repressing. (maybe therapist laszlo helps?) he might see/hear some of guillermo’s personal and home life and realize he knows nothing abt him and feel… regret? And i think its needed to get him to find that life has meaning: to make others you love happy, is to make yourself happy.
The wedding might be his wedding — but if its Guillermo and Freddie, he might realize he feels… jealous. He might realize also that he has to let it happen for Guillermo to be happy, and FINALLY, FINALLY THEN, we can see Nandor doing something COMPLETELY SELFLESS for someone else. To a MAJOR disadvantage for him. Thats what his character NEEDS. Maybe that wont happen, but I sense thats what they are coming to: that hes gotta be selfless. Might have something to do with the djinn and guillermo too?
That means i kind of predict that s5 will be sort of nandor’s pining while guillermo kinda goes off on his own and becomes kind of a real asshole. its a role reversal situation. might go too far and then s6 is kind of this recovery where they both realize they dont wanna be anyone else but themselves together, and retain the best traits of both assholiness and sweetness. Together. Possibly in a relationship. Possibly not? But honestly as long as they go through these beats as characters and grow, Im gonna be happy. Especially for Guillermo if he sticks with freddie, because getting OVER nandor is actually such a powerful statement for his char tbh.
ALSO GONNA THROW IN ANOTHER RANDOM PREDICTION: big blow out fight between them <3
Thats all. Super long but THOUGHTS ALL STORED IN BRAIN AND NEED TO GET THEM OUT. I might be so fucking wrong but-

it’s hard to articulate my feelings because a lot of them are conflicting and confusing so im just gonna do bullet points:
under the cut bc this got long
i had a feeling the marwa situation wouldn’t get brought up again so . yeah. there’s that. that’s just a thing we have to accept now ig. i’m sure i don’t need to explain why that was fucked up as many people have already done so in much better ways than i ever could. "but other characters get treated bad too-" you're telling me you don't see anything wrong with a woman of color turning into a white man and the idea that she's "happier like that"?
the colin reveal was fucking amazing like. jaw dropped and everything like. THAT was incredible and i think colin’s storyline this season overall- including his relationship with laszlo- was really well done. im gonna miss baby colin, but we knew from the get-go that it was temporary. i just wasn't expecting him to forget everything.
as far as nandermo goes, i didn’t want them together in this season like. At All. they’ve still got a long way to go and i thought that even before freddie, the episode that people say ruined nandermo. but, going back to what paul said about nandor, if nandor learned nothing from turning marwa into a freddie clone, then it does have me a little concerned on whether or not he’ll learn anything in season 5. in order for him to actually feel regret for how he has treated guillermo and work towards fixing it, he needs a major fucking realization (not necessarily a romantic one) so, it makes me worry that in season 5 their reunion will be nandor begging to have guillermo back because he can barely manage to take care of himself without him, when that shouldn’t be what reunites them at all. in fact, if that does happen, guillermo should reject him.
so, this season pretty much reset everything and wiped the slate clean. colin robinson is back to his old self and remembers nothing from his childhood. laszlo no longer has the responsibility of parenting anymore. nadja’s club is pretty much dead. and nandor is back to being lonely and single and wants to pretend he doesn’t give a shit. guillermo comments on this, outright saying that nothing there ever changes and that he’s fucking tired of it, so he dips. and, like- i get that the vampires are very set in their ways. i wouldn’t expect them not to be. but this plus paul simms saying that nandor learned nothing this season kind of has me concerned- both for nandermo and for the show in general, but more for the show overall.
on the other hand, the season cliffhanger is an absolutely perfect set-up for some real change to happen all-around, not just with nandermo. probably not anything groundbreaking because we still have to consider how the vampires are- but wiping the slate clean creates new opportunities. but again, what paul simms said has me worried. if he wants the vampires to remain static and never actually become better or stronger people, and have guillermo be the sole dynamic character, that’s fine. despite being static, the vampires are funny enough to continue being entertaining- wwdits is a comedy first and foremost, after all. but that leaves guillermo with the task of moving whatever plot wwdits has forward- and now he’s set his sights on becoming a vampire. i doubt he’ll get what he wants right away- i don't see this whole derek thing immediately going the way guillermo wants it to- but right now it feels like guillermo is kind of carrying the show on his back (one could easily argue that he's BEEN carrying it). if he loses what makes him so relatable to the audience- his humanity- and none of the other vampires show any signs of ever even slightly changing... that kinda worries me. i mean, will i still keep watching?? uh, yeah. of course i will. i love guillermo. but it will change my thoughts on some things.
and yes, one could make the argument that guillermo’s “humanity” even as a human is barely there, given what he does and all. but the fact that he’s the only human main character allows him to connect with the audience in a way that the vampires can’t.
THAT BEING SAID. after the whole marwa thing and now paul simms saying this, im a bit... nervous. not angry (besides the marwa thing)- just nervous. so i’m going to sum up this very lengthy post with some of my hopes for s5:
(i also want to make it clear that when i talk about the vampires changing i don’t mean them becoming “good people”. god no. by “change” i mean seeing the world in new perspectives, adapting better to the modern world, changing old ideas or beliefs, and yes- even changing how they treat the people that are important to them, because despite how stuck in their ways they are, i don’t think the vampires are completely incapable of genuine love)
i want the guide upgraded to be a main character in season 5. sean too because i think that would be fun, but i’m mostly concerned about the guide bc i think this show needs some more female characters in its main cast.
i also don’t want nandor’s two remaining wishes to be swept under the rug. this is mostly fueled by my desire to see the djinn again.
i want nandor to begin the process of accepting that he cares about guillermo and wants him in his life as more than just a familiar. im not saying i want a love confession right away- i don’t think they should dive into romance right away. i think they should take it slow, but they should also not be afraid of having nandor express care and concern for guillermo, especially if they want that relationship to be endgame (and I still believe it will be. im just a bit shaken rn but i promise im still an endgame truther).
and lastly i want nadja to kiss a woman. as wonderful as wwdits is with representing queer men, i feel like the guide and nadja don’t really get to openly express their pansexuality as much as nandor and laszlo do, so i’d like to see that explored more as well.
