Fusion Therapy Chapter One: Amazonita Accident
Disclaimer #1: For the sake of this fic, Peridot is demisexual and demiromantic.
Disclaimer #2: Amazonita is not my creation. She was created by @robinzuper: https://www.tumblr.com/robinzuper/738537132193431552/lapis-lazuli-peridot-fusion?source=share
A preface: I recently binged all of Steven Universe and I absolutely love it. This four-part fic is a love letter to everything I love about the show. Chapters two, three, and four will be published in the coming days. Enjoy!
Peridot laid on the truck in front of the television, waiting. She was tired of waiting.
“Lazuli! Hurry up you clod!” she shouted.
“I’m not done yet!”
“I have been waiting! For two hours!”
“You’ll have to wait longer! I’m still checking crops!”
Peridot grumbled and then flailed around, rambling incoherently, with several “clod”s thrown in. Then she sighed and floated her tablet to her. She started watching cat videos, and got into it, giggling. She turned it off as soon as she heard Lapis Lazuli coming closer. She loved the sound of her water wings flapping; there was nothing like it. Peridot floated her tablet away.
“Peridot, I’m-”
“You’re ready!”
Lapis Lazuli smiled.
“You look eager.”
“It’s the season finale! How could I not be excited?!”
“Do you think Pertricia and Lauren Luli are finally gonna get together?”
“It has to happen! They’ve been friends for so long! They’ve been through so much together! All they had was each other when they both lost their homes; they have to get together!”
“They had other friends, didn’t they?”
“But there’s nothing like each other! Here, let me explain to you my 95 reasons why.”
“The show’s about to start. Maybe later.”
They laid on the truck together, watching Camp Pining Hearts. They were both so immersed in it. Peridot almost forgot to put her arm around her. Almost.
“What are you doing?” Lapis Lazuli asked.
“This is a human ritual called ‘cuddling’. I thought we might try it.”
Lapis Lazuli said nothing, just blushing her blue blush, but completely stopped paying attention to the show. Soon after, she put an arm around Peridot, and soon after that, looked at her face. Peridot was blushing green all across her face, pretending to watch the show. Lapis Lazuli smiled at her, still blushing.
Suddenly, a white glow. Their bodies melted, their gems moved around. Amazonita opened her eyes on the bed of a truck. She looked down, saw her four arms, of a color between blue and green, and started hyperventilating. She felt her face, felt glasses and the peridot gem in her forehead, and hyperventilated more intensely. She started screaming. She screamed and screamed. Camp Pining Hearts was forgotten. Amazonita fell off the truck, screaming the whole time, and unfused as she hit the ground. Lapis Lazuli was still screaming. Peridot got up as quickly as possible and ran to her.
“Lazuli! Are you okay?!”
Lapis screamed.
“Lazuli, I’m here!”
“Go away!” Lapis Lazuli shouted, tears collecting in her eyes.
Peridot also teared up.
“I’m calling Steven.”
Peridot floated her tablet to her, and called Steven, panting, with sweat on her face.
Steven was in his house, snacking, while Garnet stood on the warp pad. Pearl had her head in the door to the bubbled gem room.
“Amethyst! Let’s go! You can talk to bubbled Jasper after the mission!”
Steven’s phone buzzed. It was Peridot. He answered it.
“Steven, Steven, Steven!”
“Hi Peridot!”
“Clod, clod, clod!”
“Peridot, what’s wrong?”
“Steven,” Garnet said.
“Just a minute!”
“Steven you have to help!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Lazuli and I were watching Camp Pining Hearts, and we were cuddling, and then we fused, and then she started screaming, and please help I don’t know how to fix it!”
“On it!”
Steven hung up.
“Peridot’s in trouble!” Steven shouted, running onto the warp pad.
“What?!” Amethyst shouted from the other room.
“Actually, Lapis is in trouble! We have to go help!”
Amethyst rushed out of the room and onto the warp pad.
“Pearl, hold down the fort,” Garnet said.
“Wait, but-”
Steven, Garnet, and Amethyst warped to the farm. They ran to Peridot and Lapis Lazuli. The blue gem was hunched over and crying into her hands, while Peridot looked on with an incredibly worried expression.
“Lapis! What’s wrong?”
“I don’t wanna fuse again,” she said through her tears.
“You don’t have to fuse with anyone,” Steven said.
“I’m a terrible person!”
“No you’re not!”
“Come on, Peridot, let’s leave them be,” Amethyst said, tugging on her arm.
Peridot looked back to Lapis Lazuli sadly, then walked off with Amethyst.
“I don’t want to hurt Peridot.”
“You remember being Malachite, don’t you?” Garnet said.
Lapis Lazuli nodded.
“Fusing with Jasper was very difficult for you.”
“I hate Jasper.”
“Peridot isn’t Jasper. She cares about you. And you care about her.”
“That’s why I don’t wanna fuse with her! I don’t wanna hurt her! I don’t wanna fight her!”
“You don’t have to.”
“I, I!”
Lapis Lazuli looked at her hands.
“It’s okay, Lapis,” Steven said. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want.”
“I can’t!”
Lapis Lazuli stood up. Steven wrapped his arms around her.
“I’m here.”
“No! Let go of me! I don’t want to fuse!”
“We’re not fusing.”
Their gems started glowing.
“No!”
Lapis Lazuli shoved Steven away and took out her wings.
“Lapis!”
She took off.
“No!”
Garnet put her hand on Steven’s shoulder.
“Let her go.”
“But!”
“She’ll be back.”

The Gemlings
Another fucking SU thing I wont stop unless someone asks me to write abt smth else
I love SU so much so here is a 7 page google doc on my 2 favorite gals and an oc
I could totally add more on this btw
The Crystal Gems walked over to the barn in the dead of night after hearing what sounded like a fight. As they stepped closer, the sheer smell of hormones flooded their senses. Along with the sound of hissing, chirping, growling, grunting and spitting.
“Guys?” Steven said, grabbing Garnet’s arm and looking up at her and Pearl.
“What’s going on? Is everything okay there?” He asked, worry filling his gaze.
“I’m sure it is. I recognize this type of environment. I think Lapis and Peridot are going to have geodes soon!” Pearl squealed, happily jogging up to the barn. As she came closer, she heard the sound of a deep snarl.
“Peridot? Lapis? Chrysolite?” Pearl called out to the trio that lived in the barn. She used her gem to cast light into the room, illuminating the large nest in the middle. The gems looked at each other as they saw Chrysolite, the male, being batted at by Lapis and Peridot. They hissed at him loudly, hitting his large muzzle as he tried to help with the nest.
“Chrysolite, you know you can’t be in here while your mates are nesting.” Pearl chastised, crossing her arms as she glared at him. He let out a creaky roar, sitting down with his legs out and his hands on the floor in front of him. As he reached a paw out, Lapis reached hers out, smacking it away with a growl. He gruffed and tried again, only to be hit by Peridot. He groaned and flopped onto his back, presenting his belly as a show of trust. Again, only to be met with the glares and growls of his mates.
“Come on Chrysolite, you’re spooking them.” Pearl stepped closer, only to be hissed at by all three of them and batted at by Chrysolite, who reluctantly got to his feet and left the barn, making sure to scent everything he came across. Once he was out, he closed the barn door and sat in front of it, staring at the doors as he slouched angrily.
“It’s going to be my nest too!” He shouted, crossing his arms as the two gems inside hissed at him.
“Why won’t they let me stay? They’re going to be my gemlings!” He grumbled, falling onto his stomach as he asked Pearl.
“You know why Chrysolite, it’s because they’re hormonal. You’re the sire, and sires’ hormones make them incredibly quick to violence, they just think you’re too aggressive to be around.” Pearl said, helping him up.
“But it’s my den too! I should at least get to stay!” He pouted, crossing his large arms across his chest. He bared his teeth and lashed his tail, clear signs he was not to be agitated.
“Look, you’re about to be a father and your body language is showing it too, you’re upset and until Peridot and Lapis allow you in there, you can’t be in there!” Pearl responded, looking up at the gruff looking male.
“So you’ll just have to stay with us! It’ll be like a sleepover!!” Steven shouted happily, hugging him tightly.
“Yeah, yeah I guess it will.” Chrysolite smiled and hugged him back, now walking back a little more willingly. When they got back to the temple, Chrysolite leapt into Steven’s room, snatching blankets, sheets, and pillows off the bed.
“Chrysolite?!” Pearl shouted, shocked at his actions as he threw the bedding onto the floor below. He grunted in response, taking the mattress in between his teeth and tossing down as well. He leapt off of the loft and spread the materials out, his instincts taking over as he began to build a new nest. He took the cushions and pillows off the couch as well, carefully arranging them in his new nest in the middle of the living room. He purred and walked around it on all fours, admiring his work.
“Ohhh…” Pearl exclaimed, understanding what just happened.
“You’re just nesting!” Pearl smiled and rummaged through the cabinet next to the couch, fishing out more soft textile things for Chrysolite to use. He happily took them and sprawled them out in his nest, before softly clambering inside and turning in circles, soon stretching and flopping down into it.
“U-uhm? Chrysolite?” Steven said, walking up awkwardly. Chrysolite grunted and opened one eye, peering up at him.
“Could I, y’know… Come in? I-I need to sleep too..” Steven said before Chrysolite snatched him by the front of his pajamas and softly tossed him into the nest before curling around him, giving him just enough room to breath as he fell asleep. Steven giggled and soon fell asleep as well.
In the morning, Chrysolite yawned, nudging Steven awake. As Steven crawled out of the nest, Chrysolite stretched out like a cat and trotted out of the nest. He looked around, checking if Garnet, Amethyst, or Pearl was there before he quickly walked out the door. He ran down the stairs and ran down the beach, kicking up sand as he ran to the barn.
“Chrysolite!!” Pearl shouted, causing him to glance back at her in shock before running quicker. He panted, quickly trotting over to the barn, speeding through Beach City.
“Chrysolite! Get back here! You’re going to scare them and end up most likely causing problems to their clutch!!” Pearl shouted, having Garnet and Amethyst chase after him as well. He ran through the streets, almost running into people as he ran to the barn. He hopped over the fence and scrambled over to the door, the gems right on his heels. He dashed through the open doors and skidded to a halt in front of his mates. He purred loudly, chirping as well as he rolled onto his side, presenting his soft belly, the most vulnerable part of his body. He flicked his ears and shook out his fur, emitting pheromones to soothe his mates’ nerves. He knew not to get too close to the nests, but he did scent the room, covering it in his scent so when the gemlings arrived, they could get used to it. Once he was finished, he purred and rolled around, taking in the attention that his mates gave him before they sent him out.
“What are we going to do with you?” Garnet said as Chrysolite was sent out, purring as he scented his mates briefly before they swatted him away. He smiled as he trotted out, scenting the outside as they left.
“You’re going to scare them if you lose your temper around them, your fuse is shorter than normal..” Pearl said, causing him to snarl. He sighed and stepped on the warp pad, activating it and going home.
After months of this, going over, scenting, being chased out, and repeating, Chrysolite grew tired. He lay in his nest, snuggling Steven close to him. However, they both were jolted awake at the sound of wails, and bright blue and green lights coming from the barn. Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst quickly bolted into the living room to see Chrysolite shaking Steven off of his leg and bolting out the door.
“Pearrrrrl!!!” Steven yelled, falling back into the nest.
“Where is he going!?” He shouted, quickly dashing in and out of the bathroom in a new change of clothes.
“Peridot and Lapis are getting ready to lay, and Chrysolite’s sire instincts are going haywire! We need to stop him before he gets himself hurt, Peridot or Lapis hurt, or the clutches hurt!” Pearl explained, bolting after him.
“Chrysolite! Stop!! You’re going to scare them!” Pearl yelled as she sprinted after him, trying to catch up and stop him from interrupting. He dove onto all fours and ran faster, running down the empty dark streets to get to the barn. He panted as he ran on, leaping over the fence and diving into the barn, being met with the wails of his mates as they laid their clutches in the nest. He instantly began producing calming pheromones, purring and chirping to soothe the nerves in the room. He quickly trotted over to them, licking their skin to calm them. He rubbed their back, enjoying the time they had before they got angry at him being there. Pearl’s squeals filled the barn as she laid her eyes on their clutches, counting nine whole geodes in total.
Chrysolite purred loudly, rubbing his scent glands onto each geode. They laid together for a few minutes, tending to their young. Once the geodes’ safety was ensured, Lapis let out a growl, signaling for Chrysolite to leave. He grumbled as he got to his feet, rubbing against the clutch one last time, earning a slash and a hiss from Lapis. He retreated from the nest with a chirp and gazed at his offspring. He trilled and flicked his ears and throat fur, presenting a show of green-blue color. He purred loudly and pranced for them, giving into his needs as a sire. Lapis and Peridot giggled to themselves and sent him off. He trilled and jogged out after giving them a kiss, purring wildly. He closed the barn doors and turned to face the other gems, Pearl and Garnet looked at him, slightly disappointed in him going to see the two carriers, despite Pearl’s warnings about what might happen. However, he just gave them a smug look and pranced off.
Around two weeks later, Chrysolite was woken up by someone leaving the house. He yawned, stretched, and turned over, going back to sleep. Twenty minutes later though, he was jolted awake by the loud and angry cries of his mates in the barn. He was up in an instant, the instincts of a sire needing to tend to their family flowing through him. Garnet and Pearl ran in, causing Steven to wake up as well. Chrysolite grew angry quickly, fangs growing in his mouth as he snarled and spat, his eyes glowed as he bolted out the door, sprinting towards the barn once more. Pearl groaned, having to chase after him again with Garnet. He leapt onto all fours, running faster to get to his new family. He ran through the fence, smashing it to pieces as he tried to get to Lapis and Peridot. He slammed open the doors and panted roughly, observing the geode in Amethyst’s hands. Pearl and Garnet stormed in behind him, and saw what Chrysolite was upset at. Amethyst laughed awkwardly, placing the geode down just as Chrysolite leapt on her.
To him, Amethyst was not a friend. All he saw through his instinct clouded mind was someone trying to take away his baby. He roared and was on her in a millisecond, holding her down and slamming his clawed hands into her. He bit, tore, slashed, punched, beat, and screamed. At the moment, he was not Chrysolite, he was only a hormonal sire protecting his young. He attacked her so violently, she poofed and even then he was still angry. He raised a hand, getting ready to slam it down on Amethyst’s gem and shatter her. Though, just before he could, Steven ran over and grabbed it, running out of his reach before he too could get hit. As Pearl, Garnet, and Steven ran, Chrysolite ran after them. He growled and hissed, chasing them away from the barn and back into Beach City. He let out a deep roar, completely intent on viciously attacking them if they came back too soon. He spat as they ran back to the house, keeping Steven safe.
He grunted and stalked back, still on all fours. His teeth and other sharp assets shrunk back to normal. As he walked, he scented the area around the barn, marking trees and rocks by slashing into them. He did this for at least an hour before he heard the calling chirps of Lapis and Peridot. He eagerly ran back, before slowing down and carefully entering the barn. He heard their soft purrs as he padded in, his puffed up fur laying flat back on his body. He purred back, much louder and deeper as he smiled at them. They smiled back and started shuffling around, making room for his large body to fit in. He trilled happily and softly slipped in. He purred louder, his breathing syncing with theirs as he snuggled in, tucking them both closer along with their clutches. They laid like this for hours, falling asleep together. They lay like this for weeks, never moving from their spots.
“Hey Chrysolite?” Lapis said, shaking him awake.
“Yes, Lappy?” He smiled and gazed up at her, licking her cheek softly, causing her to giggle.
“Me and Peri were wondering if you could watch the clutches for us? We want to go out together but we can’t leave them..” Lapis said, stroking his hair softly.
“Of course! I’d love to watch them, I haven't seen them in so long.” He cooed and leaned into her touch.
“Thank you!” She purred and hugged him tightly.
“Peri! He said he’d watch them!” She shook Peridot awake, who chirped happily, getting up from the clutch.
“Here, lay on your side Chrysolite.” Peridot instructed.
“Okay, what now?” He asked softly, gazing up at her.
“Alright, here we go.” Peridot carefully gathered up the geodes and slid them closer to him, slipping their sturdy forms under him.
“The outsides are incredibly durable, so they won’t crack if someone of your size helps with brooding.” Peridot explained, covering him with a blanket.
“Alright, thank you Peri.. Now you two go have fun. They’ll be safe, all nine of them.” He purred, shifting to make himself more comfortable. The two nodded and stroked him softly before leaving the barn, closing the doors and leaving it pitch black inside. He smiled as he curled around them, making sure every last one of them was safe and accounted for.
“Hi there babies.” He cooed, chirping and trilling happily.
“I’m your carrier's sire, so I’ll protect you and your mamas. We’ll all be so safe together, me, Lapis, Peridot, and all nine of you. Oh!!” He squealed, his incredibly loud purrs shaking the walls. He laid on them for hours, using his body heat to keep them warm and using his insane amount of fur to keep them safe. He had his back towards the barn doors as he snored, his chest rising and falling. He let out a snarl as he heard the barn doors open, his ears turning towards it. He turned himself over, crouching over his nest and geodes as he growled.
“Chrysolite?” Came Pearl’s soft voice. He opened eyes to look at her, snarling as his eyes fell upon Amethyst. He hissed loudly, his lips curling to show his gums and sharp teeth. He growled and puffed up his fur, making him look impossibly larger.
“Where’s Peridot and Lapis?” Pearl asked, stepping closer slowly.
“Out.” He responded coldly, pinning his ears back against his mane. Though still softening up around her.
“And you’re covering for them? How much longer do the geodes have?” Pearl asked, sitting in front of him with her legs folded under her.
“Yes, I’m taking over until they return. And I would say around a week or so.” He answered, starting to purr quietly. They talked for a while, Pearl calming him down and chatting about the clutch.
“Ow!” He yelped and raised his body up, watching one of the geodes begin to crack.
“Or today! Or they could erupt today!” He panicked, letting out a loud deep Sire Call, calling out to his mates for help. He carefully set all the geodes out in front of him, watching them as he called to Peridot and Lapis. Pearl walked him through the process of the erupting of gemlings, explaining how she used to be a midgem, the gem version of a midwife. He squealed as he saw a small furry blue hand poke out of the blue and teal geode, its tiny claws swatting around at nothing. He carefully took the top of it between his teeth, slowly removing it for the small gemling to poke out of. Its gem was on its chest, and was shaped like Lapis’s.
As soon as he helped it out of its geode, it started crying. Its small naked fluffy body wiggling around. He held it in his paws, licking it clean and cradling it on his bare chest, yelping as it clawed him unconsciously. Its cries lessened and it sniffled before it began chirping. It peeped as loud as it could, grasping onto the soft warm fur of Chrysolite’s chest. Pearl clapped her hands wildly, congratulating him on his first gemling’s eruption. Minutes later, Peridot and Lapis came rushing into the barn just in time to see Chrysolite licking two others clean. Both were blue, looking the exact same. Same green hair, same shade of blue on their fur, same cries, and both of their gems were on their left shoulder they were practically the exact same gem.
“Chrysolite!” Lapis shouted, quickly running over with Peridot to help calm their cries. He purred and set both of them on his chest with the first one. They purred loudly, helping the others erupt from their geodes and giving them to Chrysolite to clean and soothe. They sighed as the very last one erupted and Chrysolite took its small spotted body to clean it.
“She’s so small!” Chrysolite cooed, softly setting her with her siblings.
“Alright, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst? Leave please.” Chrysolite said tiredly, shooing them away as best he could as he stroked the gemlings' backs. Pearl nodded and quickly herded the gems out of the barn, making sure to shut the doors. Chrysolite sighed, purring loudly as Peridot and Lapis curled up next to him.
“You’re so lucky we agreed to this. This entire process hurt.” Lapis jokes, softly stroking the sleeping gemlings. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around them, rubbing their bellies softly.
“OW!” He yelped, curling his toes as one of the small gems bit at one of the small pinkish bumps on his belly, sinking its sharp tiny teeth into it. Lapis laughed, carefully picking up the small baby and bringing it to her chest, helping it feed from her instead of trying to feed from a male. The baby chirped and took one in its mouth, feeding itself as it squeaked. The other babies raised their heads, chirping and squealing. Lapis and Peridot smiled, reaching out for their babies and having them latch onto them. They purred in sync together, slowly falling asleep with their babies.
A few weeks passed and the gemlings grew bigger. Their eyes have opened and almost all of them have Chrysolite’s yellow eyes. Some of them have Lapis’ wings but they can't control them and all parents have to keep an eye on them to make sure their wings don’t dissipate in the air. Whenever the gems came over, the gemlings, sometimes labeled ‘cubs’ by Chrysolite, loved to climb on Garnet. Whenever they clambered onto her, she’d have the goofiest smile on her face, sitting extremely still. Sometimes, they’d go outside, but only ever with Chrysolite, if he wasn’t there, they don’t go outside. When they were outside he never took his eyes off of any of them, even if he couldn’t see them, he knew EXACTLY where they were. They also really liked being picked up by Chrysolite. Since they didn’t know how to speak, they would waddle up to him, raise up their arms, and chirp wildly until he noticed them and picked them up. With the help of Steven, he taught them how to speak, even if it was only around 10 words a baby.

Some Lapidot Drinking Headcanons so TW for alcohol and sexual reference. Yes this is for My Bizarre Roommate.
Tumblr media
Peridot
She's a lightweight, she's pretty much buzzed at one drink, mainly because for 1. She's little and 2. She doesn't like alcohol all that much, she only likes fruity stuff. She can get pretty bitey when drunk too, basically wanting to bite people and Lapis has to help keep Peridot out of trouble. She'll take Peridot home and basically put her to bed. Though, Peridot can get kind of horny and want to do it with Lapis but Lapis knows it's wrong to do that. So instead she just cuddles with Peridot in which both of them end up sleeping pretty fast. Luckily Peridot doesn't drink often due to sensory issues with alcohol and loud noises from a bar. She can also get paranoid at those kind of occasions. And yes she does get a bad hangover which Lapis helps her with. Also she doesn't drink often is also because she gets carded a lot despite being 24.
Lapis
She's more midweight about her drinking mainly due to her bigger size. She drinks more than Peridot does even though she suffers from similar sensory issues. She luckily doesn't get carded as much as Peridot does even though she's 27. But she'll have a glass of wine every now and then during events and often goes for a more sweeter tasting type. She can hold her alcohol but when she does get drunk, she'll be very sleepy and Peridot has to help her get home before she passes out. But if she does get drunk like that away from home, she only does it within walking distance because Peridot can't drive. Peridot also takes care of Lapis whenever she's like this as sometimes Lapis will start crying in her arms and Peridot comforts her. Hangovers for her aren't bad since she's suffered some bad ones before before she moved in with Peridot.

Lapidot Here, There, and Everywhere!
In this post, I'd like to note the fifteen Lapidot fics I've written to date, and leave it open in the event that I write more. All of these fics, currently, are within my "An Unlikely Alliance Against Evildoers" series (the master list for that is here), and comprise 15 of 30 fics within the entire series!
****
For short, I will be calling it "An Unlikely Alliance". In the future, it is always possible I will watch more. We'll see what happens.
"The Gems, and their newfound friends, still journeying across Etheria, try to recruit Mermista for a final battle with the Horde. Their adventures in Salineas, filled with mystery and intrigue, lead to unexpected discoveries which threaten to pull them apart...":
"As the Gems and princesses work together in a joint offensive to defeat the Horde once and for all, they inadvertently allow Samurai Jack, now mind controlled by the Diamonds, to make a bold move. In the aftermath of the Horde's demise, Adora is faced with a choice for her future, whether she will stay with her new friends or remain on Etheria...":
"Adora, Pearl, Carmen, Ivy, and Zack go to the nation of Japan on a journey to investigate an unusual disturbance. They learn “secrets” about the Gems themselves, specifically Lapis and Peridot, but find new friends. Their encounter with the “disturbance” causes grief, lasting trauma, and disrupts existing friendships, especially for Carmen and one of their new friends. What happens therein is a tale of discovery, horror, and companionship…":
"Carmen and Utena remain scarred from the horrifying sights in Yokohama, Japan, but Peridot and Lapis have moved forward, and are realizing their dream to host a talk show. Even though this boosts everyone’s spirits, for Carmen, desperate times call for desperate measures, while Lapis, Peridot, Steven, Connie, Bismuth, and Pumpkin are drawn back to Japan to face evildoers who want to use the candy people to their own ends…":
"On two sides of the world, two groups face off against a legion of evildoers: Lapis, Peridot, Pumpkin, Stevonnie, and Bismuth in Japan, joined by Utena and Anthy, and Carmen, Adora, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Julia, and A.C.M.E. agents assaulting V.I.L.E. Academy in the Canary Islands. While both groups face obstacles, can they defeat evil and restore balance to the world without creating additional complications?":
"In the aftermath of fighting in Japan and the assault on V.I.L.E. Island, the Crystal Gems and their newfound friends are divided across the world, some in Siberia, some returning to Beach City, and some remaining on the island. Adora pushes Peri to bring them all together, allowing her to connect with old friends in Etheria, Bow and Glimmer, and create new ones, causing emotional tension and conflict…":
"One week after the assault on V.I.L.E. Island and the fight in Japan, Adora, assisted by the Crystal Gems, goes on a date with Carmen Sandiego in the Floridian Archipelago. In the process, they grow closer as friends, but emotional tension grows, and they confront a new danger in the Tampa Lagoon, unknowingly manipulated by a person far out of their reach...":
"A month after Adora and Carmen's date in the Floridian Archipelago...Jules asks a private detective agency to help her find the perpetrator who robbed the V.I.L.E. Only time can tell…":
"The Diamonds send emissaries to Earth to deliver a message to Steven about an impending issue on their planet which they claim is beyond their control. Are they being honest with him about this problem, or are they trying to manipulate him for their own selfish ends? Regardless of the answer, the “peace” Steven thought existed on Earth has been shattered…":

Steven and the Gems agree to help Rhodonite, but before they leave, Connie reports that Catra, Adora's friend (or more than a friend) from beyond the stars, is missing. Pearl, Adora's girlfriend, has something to do with the disappearance, but won't disclose it for fear of hurting Adora, despite possible repercussions on their relationship..." While Bonnie is breathing a sigh of relief, Marcy wants to strike back at the Earthlings for what they did to her and her girlfriend. Steven is first in the line of fire. Will Marcy’s emotions get the better of her or will restrain herself before she tries to turn Steven into a vampire? Will she listen to Bonnie’s reasoned pleas to stop her emotion-laden “revenge scheme”? Whatever the result, secrets will be revealed and people will be brought together in this final chapter of the saga of unlikely loose “alliance” against evildoers, who will go their own ways, as the world and universe are before them, coming together in a celebration of peace..." I know some dislike this ship, noting that Peridot was confirmed to be asexual (by a storyboarder named Maya Peterson, but Rebecca Sugar hasn't, of yet, ever said anything on the matter), but personally I think they work well together and I don't mind the ship. Since Peterson also said that Peridot is aromantic, I'd say that Lapis and Peri could still be friends. Peri seems to be autistic too, but that has not been confirmed as of yet.

Believe me, I too feel deeply nostalgic for going to class at uni in the fall of 2015. Probably reading pre-redemption lapidot fanfiction on the way there.
My very specific fall 2015 fandom vibe was watching Undertale blow the absolute fuck up overnight

hi! if youve stumbled on this blog, you probably found it through trails from my old fandom days on here. most likely, steven universe, and homestuck is a possibility too. before this url, i was to ‘thegayfuchsia,’ which after deactivating, i also reserved the url for archiving purposes.
i was the author of “Shattered Reflections,” one of the most popular lapidot fanfictions on archiveofourown during the height of the steven universe fandom, around 2015? the shell of that work has been on ao3 all these years but i took the contents down because i was embarrassed, though ive had a backup copy saved on google drive that ive been more than happy to share.
however, someone recently reported that work and it is at risk of being deleted. i have reinstated the contents of the fic but i screenshotted all the comments and stats just in case i lose it :’)
anyway, im probably talking out into the void but if you happen to stumble across this post, and you recognize the username or the title of this fanfic, just know that my intent to reach you has been recognized. i hope youre all well!

Fusion Therapy Chapter Two: A Phone Call
Chapter One ^
Peridot laid on the couch in Steven’s room, arms around her knees. There was an empty bowl of ice cream in front of her and a mess of ice cream around her mouth. The cushion below her face was wet. Steven and Amethyst sat on either side of her.
“What about Funland?” Amethyst suggested.
“No, no way,” Steven said.
“Farming?”
“Even worse.”
Peridot whimpered.
“What about building a huge robot?”
“Maybe.”
“No!”
Amethyst sighed.
“I think you just have to wait this out, buddy.”
Peridot whimpered again.
Steven sighed.
“I wish Garnet was here.”
“Dude. We can’t just futurevision this problem away!”
“You’re right,” Steven said with defeat.
“Steven?” Peridot piped up.
“What is it?! What do you need?!”
“Do you have any blue ice cream?”
“No, we don’t have any blue ice cream.”
“Clod.”
“But I can get you some non-blue ice cream.”
She considered it.
“That will suffice.”
Steven took her ice cream bowl and walked to the kitchen.
“It’s been two weeks, and still no sign of Lapis,” Steven said to himself as he scooped Peridot the last of the ice cream. “Peridot’s not showing any signs of recovery. I don’t know what to do.”
Steven brought the ice cream to Peridot, and she scarfed it down.
“Why isn’t this making me feel better?!” Peridot exclaimed.
“Peridot, the only thing that’s gonna do that is time.”
Peridot wailed and cried.
“Yo, Steven. Can I talk to you outside?”
“Of course, Amethyst.”
Steven and Amethyst got up and walked to the door.
“Hang in there, Peri,” Amethyst said.
“What did you want to talk about, Amethyst?” Steven asked once they were outside.
“Yo, man, we’re getting nowhere.”
“I know.”
“What do we do?!”
“I don’t know.”
There was a long pause.
“Do you think Smoky Quartz could help?” Steven suggested.
“No, probably not.”
“Garnet? Pearl? Sardonyx?”
“No! The only gem who can help Peridot is Peridot!”
Steven’s phone rang. He looked at it.
“It’s my dad.”
Steven answered the phone.
“Hey dad.”
“Hey Shtewball! I got someone here who wants to talk to you.”
“Um. Okay.”
Steven waited.
“What is it?” Amethyst asked.
“I dunno.”
Steven waited.
“Hey Steven,” Lapis Lazuli said on the other end.
“Lapis?!” Steven exclaimed.
“Lapis?!” Amethyst exclaimed.
“Lapis?!” Peridot exclaimed.
Peridot scrambled outside.
“Gimme the phone!”
She tried to take the phone.
“Hey Lapis, where are you?”
“I’m at the car wash.”
Steven was dancing around Peridot as she tried to take the phone from him.
“Do you want us to come to you?” Steven asked.
“Who’s we?”
“Gimme the phone Steven!”
“Me, Peridot, and Amethyst.”
Lapis Lazuli sighed.
“Okay.”
The three of them made their way to the car wash. Lapis Lazuli was washing a car using her powers.
“You’re doing great Lapis!” Greg said.
“Lapis!” Steven shouted.
“Steven!”
Lapis Lazuli stopped what she was doing. The two of them hugged.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” he said.
Lapis Lazuli turned to Peridot. She was already crying.
“C’mere.”
They hugged. Peridot was sobbing and crying.
“I missed you so much!”
“I missed you too.”
They kept hugging. Their gems started glowing. Lapis Lazuli pushed Peridot away.
“Listen. I’m sorry. For leaving.”
Peridot sniffled and whimpered.
“Ever since I was Malachite I’ve been so scared of fusing.”
“I know.”
Lapis Lazuli gasped.
“Even though it was only a few seconds, I experienced what it’s like to be you. You’ve suffered so much.”
“Yeah.”
“And I wanna help!”
“What?”
“After my ship crashed and before the Crystal Gems captured me, I was all alone! I had nothing! No one! And I know it’s nothing compared to what you’ve gone through, but you’re not the only one that’s felt trapped, the only one that’s felt alone! Lapis Lazuli, these past months with you have been the happiest of my life. You’re the greatest friend anyone could’ve asked for. And maybe… we could be a little more… than friends.”
Lapis Lazuli blushed.
“Peridot.”
“I know you’re hurting. I know there have been some real clods who didn’t treat you the way you deserve to be treated. But you don’t have to suffer alone anymore.”
Peridot tenderly put Lapis Lazuli’s hand in between both of hers.
“Thank you. The truth is, I don’t wanna be scared anymore. I don’t wanna keep running. I’m ready to move on. I’m ready to heal.”
“That’s what I’m here for.”
“I’d rather not do this here.”
“Of course.”

Fact: Lapis Lazuli is on the swim team.
Because of course she is - that’s just how it’s always been. You can ask anyone, and they’ll tell you. There’s never been a world without Lapis Lazuli in the water. The other girls on the team like to joke that she came out of the womb and started running directly for the ocean, just so she could get her first taste of what the universe had made her for. They say she spoke with the dolphins and fish and sharks and whales, and that they all welcomed her as their own. Lapis has been known to roll her eyes at this, though she doesn’t ever say anything about it. She understands it’s a joke. But it’s ridiculous, nonetheless; Lapis didn’t start swimming the day she was born. She didn’t have the strength. She started swimming the day after.
But none of that matters. What matters is that Lapis Lazuli likes to swim, lives to swim. So she’s on their school’s swim team, because why wouldn’t she be? She’s a natural, after all. The other girls joke that she’s a mermaid, a selkie, a creature of the water. They say that she swims so much the chlorine stains her skin blue, to compliment her dyed hair. And okay, Lapis has to admit, the hair is a little on the nose. But Peri helped her pick it out, and dye it, and she’s grown rather fond of it, now. Lapis is thinking about Peri right now, actually, though this isn’t that uncommon; she often finds herself thinking about Peri. She’s supposed to meet her here, after practice. They’re gonna go work on a sculpture project together in Steven’s barn. Lapis finds herself smiling just thinking about it.
Fact: Peridot is dating Lapis Lazuli.
Which is crazy, isn’t it? How could anyone like Peridot ever end up with someone like Lapis? Peri asks herself this every day. When she wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror, when she fumbles over to her dresser and checks her phone, when she walks to school to find Lapis waiting for her, ready to listen to whatever Peri has to say about the latest episode of CPH (“It was wonderful, because it always is, but the writers know nothing about chemistry,”) or the last bizarre thing that’s happened in tech crew (“Amethyst ate an entire soda can today, can you believe that? Not even the soda part. Just the can. Just popped it in her mouth and chewed! I swear, that girl’s not human, she’s not!”) or her latest invention (“No, it does not shoot lasers, you know I’m at least two years off of mastering compact laser technology,”). Lapis says that she loves to listen, because she does. Lapis doesn’t like talking that much, and Peri always has something she needs to say, so Lapis listens and Peridot talks and it works out well.
She doesn’t know that Lapis thinks about it too, wonders why Peri would ever choose someone like her, who too often comes off as cold or disaffected or quiet and distant, unapproachable from any perspective. Lapis has heard it all. She’s never heard it from Peri, though. Peri, who’s perfect and sweet and genius and adorable. Peri, who’s never failed a class or stopped talking about what she loves or been unable to stand up for something she’s passionate about. Every day, Lapis wonders how she got this lucky.
Peridot just can’t believe it, sometimes, no matter how much Lapis says that she loves her, how she wouldn’t trade her for any girlfriend in the world. It just doesn’t add up, in Peridot’s opinion. She’s weird and more than a little dorky, and she’s not even interested in sex! Or anything beyond cuddling or hand-holding or kissing, really. Peri thinks she might be ace. She and Lapis have talked about it extensively. Lapis knows full and well where her girlfriend’s boundaries are. And she loves her all the same, which Peri is baffled by and Lapis says she shouldn’t be - it’s just human decency, after all, to respect someone’s wishes.
Fact: It’s raining.
It’s raining, but they have swim practice anyway, because that’s how it works. Practice isn’t cancelled unless there’s lightning detected nearby, and so far the sky looks clear in that sense. But the rain’s pouring all around them, thundering down onto the pool deck, adding to water in the nearly-overflowing pool. Some of the other girls have left, meeting up with boyfriends and getting into cars, driving home to where it’s safe and warm. Lapis hasn’t stopped swimming though - she’s got a set to finish, at least another lap or so of butterfly, and she’s not stopping now. She’s gone swimming in worse conditions. Snow, a tornado, even a hurricane once or twice. And she’s supposed to meet Peri here, anyway. She’s not leaving before then. She hasn’t seen her girlfriend all day (they only have one class together, ‘Sculpture & Design’, and that only meets three times a week) and she’s not missing out on spending some time with her just to get out of a little storm.
Peridot’s biking to her right now. She could have driven, technically, but she doesn’t really own a car. Plus, Pearl and the rest of the Green Team have been after her (and literally everyone else, for that matter) about not helping save the environment. And she likes biking. She just wishes she hadn’t planned to bike a mile and a half in the pouring rain. While thunder looms ominously in the background. She… well, she really needs to work on her planning skills. And just checking the weather app in general. And wearing raincoats when it’s raining.
But it’s to see Lapis, and she knows it’s stupid and she’s only seventeen and no one’s really in love when they’re seventeen (or so she’s been told), but she loves Lapis so, so much. She’d do anything for her.
Her legs are burning and the rain is pouring by the time she makes it to the pool. She leans her bike up against the chain link fence nearby, not even taking the time to tie it to anything. Who’s gonna be stealing her bike in the pouring rain, anyway?
Peri walks over to the pool deck, taking notice of how empty it is. But Lapis is still there, swimming laps like she always is, because she’s Lapis, and she can swim through anything. Peri doesn’t even know if she can see her, from the water, through the rain. But she sits and waits anyway, because Lapis will be out eventually, and Peri doesn’t mind waiting. She finds it’s always worth it in the end.
Fact: Lapis Lazuli looks adorable when she gets out of the pool.
Of course, there’s another fact that goes something along the lines of “Lapis Lazuli always looks adorable, so does this really count?” but this time, there is a bit of a need to specify, because you’d think that in certain circumstances (read: pouring rain, borderline thundering) it’d be hard to focus on how attractive someone is, or to make out their features at all. But somehow, that doesn’t apply to Lapis. She climbs out of the pool and takes off her swimcap, shaking out her bright blue hair, and the rain seems to bend around her. And then she walks over to Peri, and it seems to bend around her, too. And Peri can see Lapis, her bright blue hair and her little smirk and the look in her eyes that could mean anything from “Let’s go get dinner” to “Let’s go do arson” and that’s something that Peridot just loves about her, just adores.
Peri goes to say something - probably “Hi” or “I biked here through the rain, I know, I’m a fucking idiot” or “You’re beautiful, how are you so beautiful?” but she doesn’t get to. Lapis gives her a quick kiss, and Peri leans into it, because it’s Lapis and it’s raining and there’s thunder on the horizon, and all of it fits in together perfectly.
Fact: Peridot doesn’t like cliches.
In fact, she hates them. In her opinion, they’re only acceptable in the form of Camp Pining Hearts, and that barely counts as an exception, because CPH could do anything and she’d go with it, because none of the normal rules apply there. Cliches, in her opinion, are terrible. And kissing in the rain? Pretty bad. It’s not just that it doesn’t make sense - “Why? Just why? They’re in the rain, they’re gonna get wet, and then they'll be cold and it just sounds unpleasant, I don’t understand…” - but it’s also that they’re overdone. Boring. She’s heard about kissing in the rain from every romcom, every drama, every single stupid romance novel she swears was put on this Earth just to torture her.
But she has to say, despite the many times she’s found herself cursing various media outlets for perpetuating the wonder and glory and joy and whatever else they say about kissing in the rain, she actually likes it. There’s something about Lapis, and the storm, and the faint smell of chlorine from the pool. There’s something in the way she can feel Lapis smiling, and she can hear the rain pounding all around them. There’s something about it all - and then Lapis pulls away, and just like that, it’s gone.
It’s a short kiss. A soft kiss. And nothing too extraordinary - they’ve kissed before, after all. They’re dating. It’s something they do.
But Peridot finds herself smiling in a different sort of way, and she has to reach up to push her glasses back into place, and she thinks to herself, just a quick little thought, that maybe they could do this again sometime.
From the way Lapis is looking at her, she seems to feel the same.

i want to drop more information about My Bizarre Roommate but I'm worried that I might accidentally spoil the story of it without meaning to. I will say this, I did mention in another post that mental health is kind of a theme in the story despite being a Lapidot fanfic. Mainly because I'm tired of Lapidot being used for romantic angst(lookingatacertaincomic*cough cough*) and I just rather have mental health/personal angst tbh because honestly with autism and multiple mental issues thats just relatable asf. But yee, I want to drop some information but I don't want to spoil anything because I want people to actually be interested in it.

Mnemosyne to the max: Listing my fics
In this post, I'd like to note the four Mnemosyne / RIN - Daughters of Mnemosyne fics I've written to date, and leave it open in the event that I write more, however unlikely that would be. And I am fully aware of the issues with this series. And if you want to read about them more, feel free to read this review on Anime News Network.
****
All of these fics, currently, are within my "An Unlikely Alliance Against Evildoers" series (the master list for that is here), and comprise 4 of 30 fics within the entire series! For short, I will be calling it "An Unlikely Alliance".
In Part 16 of An Unlikely Alliance, Rin and Mimi are contracted by Julia "Jules" Argent to help her find the perpetrator who robbed the V.I.L.E. Museum in Japan. [AO3 Link]
In Part 17 of An Unlikely Alliance, Mimi talks with Adora, and agrees to drink a small amount to Pearl's chagrin. They leave Rin's apartment, where Mimi is staying, and end up at the house of Utena and Anthy. [AO3 Link]
In Part 18 of An Unlikely Alliance, we see that Mimi has a bourgeois lifestyle, while Rin goes into work at their private consulting company in Tokyo, with Mimi inspecting a hemp dress that Peridot and Lapis made [AO3 Link]
In Part 19 of An Unlikely Alliance, Rin and Mimi are briefly mentioned by Jules in a conversation with Carmen [AO3 Link]
