Can you tell us more about Malady and the entirety of Malapis?
The entirety? Goodness! Well, I can at least summarize it.
Well, okay so: Malady is, really, an undead creation made some wizards. A masterpiece in magical construction, he is a powerful warrior that can survive nearly any wound (with some horrific side effects, but that's neither here or there). He's to kill whoever they need dead, guard them with his life, to simply be their plaything, whatever they wanted him to be. Malady has never, ever, took to this. Even though he's magically compelled to follow their every order, he had fought every step of way, even suffering torture and isolation to be kept in line. Eventually, after 200 years of this, Malady the Mad Dog had been broken into something vaguely obedient though he miserable the whole time. That was until he met Lapis, a con-artist that accidentally gets caught in his wake.
I won't get into the details of their meeting, mostly because I don't know them yet. But the gist of their relationships that they are both these rotten bastards that fell head over heels in love with each other and they're making it everyone else's problem. They go on these adventures and get in/out these messes while navigating their strange intense but also joyful relationship. These two very troubled people that found a lot of comfort in the other, while ignoring the past that keeps nipping at their heels and ruin everything they built. Also they have a lot of sex. Can't forget that.
Anyways, that's my pitch for Malapis as a couple lol.
