i am a normal person with normal hobbies, such as recording myself reading pieces of poetry i enjoy, going through multiple takes until i'm happy with the finished product (??), periodically re-recording poems i've already done (???) but keeping each version (?????), and only deleting past recordings if i realize i made a mistake

and you may wonder: what do i even do with these recordings? the answer is literally nothing. they exist for no reason. i just get this powerful, inexplicable urge to do this sometimes, like i'm fucking possessed

i've been doing this for an entire year now and i truly do not know why. incredibly specific brain worms. idk

#personal garbage #at one point months ago i kept obsessively recording siken's 'landscape with a blur of conquerors' #and that's one of the rare instances where i actually DO know what compelled me to undertake that very stupid task #basically i realized the poem was roughly the right length to be read within 3min (the universal standard for spoken word pieces) #and just as an experiment i wanted to see if i could consistently get the timing down #was i practicing with the intent of getting back into my local spoken word scene??? no clue. couldn't possibly tell you #but that does sound like sth i'm stupid enough to consider so maybe!
